I think first of all we have to take note of how tsubaki is heavily implied and almost confirmed tbh to be raised catholic. while we know she studied with rika when she was tiny so she didn't study in the christian school, we also have confirmation that she DID frequent a church alongside Miyu fairly frequently and was part of the choir, hell, Miyu herself called her big sister tsubaki in the past so with this we already have the confirmation of one thing::: judging by the other raised catholic girls in the series (lyrical lily, esora), tsubaki was infected with the gay disaster virus at a young age.

However, this also brings us the fact that she WAS part of the choir. "Why was?" Well you see, rondo unit story 1 confirms to us that tsubaki somewhat left the choir some time ago and now comes alone to the church to sing. As events go on, she eventually gets comfortable and sometimes join the choir alone to help too, but she didn't fully join them. We also learn that Tsubaki used to take voice training classes because she enjoyed singing and would like to work with that in the future, however, her teacher told her that her voice wasn't cut to that and she wouldn't get that fair and, disheartened by that, Tsubaki quit singing for a LONG time... Until one day aoi heard her singing all alone in a church, entered and asked her to join her dj unit. This goes on and on for a decently long time since tsubaki was still afraid of singing and thought she'd make rondo fail because "she isn't a good singer", but she also slowly grows more and more confident on herself and her singing as she stays w rondo!!!

However. This girl is still an absolute disaster (probably the biggest one in d4dj after saori). Tsubaki is bad at basically anything related to housekeeping: cooking, cleaning... It's one of the main things she struggles with, SPECIALLY cooking. If you want an idea, on the valentine's day rondo event tsubaki had to go ask for help to hiiro because she wanted to make (not buy) chocolates for "someone special..." Which just made hiiro giggle because she knew it was aoi. We learn that Tsubaki was able to make them with hiiro's help, because when she tried doing it on her own, she burned the chocolate. Tsubaki is also an incredibly heavy sleeper even if she usually stays up late watching western movies (which brings us the knowledge that tsubaki DOES enjoy western media and, as such, since she's emo we can conclude this girl absolutely could be into american emo bands) (and i mean, rondo does has a fully english cover with tsubaki singing, so) which causes her to fall asleep during her uni classes and the others (usually hiiro) giving her canned coffees and calling our her poor sleep patterns. A lot of the time she oversleeps, too, making so that rondo meetings have to be at the evening or at night since she will be late otherwise and with them usually having to call her to wake her up. She's pathetic and also i love her.

Now let's talk about her relationship with Rika. The two did meet initially at school, which Rika confirms that Tsubaki was a VERY quiet and shy kid, a nervous wreck, and that because of this Rika, always bright and popular, decided to befriend her specially so she could help Tsubaki. However, after some time, Rika noticed she started to distance herself (implied to be after her singing tutor told her she wouldn't get very far) and Rika felt powerless, like she couldn't do anything, and that's where rika decided she would always be willing to help others like tsubaki and not let them go. Rika tells us that at the merm4id christmas story that this is one of the reasons as to why she always tries her best to make others smile, because she doesn't want anyone to get all lonely and with no friends like tsubaki was when they were small and growing up. However, recently the two reconnected and are besties again, with Rika still annoying (lovingly) the hell out of Tsubaki who insists she doesn't like Rika that much, but it's clear how important both are to each other: tsubaki being the one who gave rika's being a purpose to help others and always be true to herself and rika being the one who always was there for tsubaki, the one who gave her a boost to, when she was ready, let herself open up to friends and relationships again.

And then we get to the girls themselves. Aoi and Tsubaki... God. First of all we have to acknowledge that their feelings ARE mutual and it's heavily implied in many stories (rondo maid, rondo phantom thief, aoi and haruna relations) and, considering d4 already has a canonical lesbian couple, who knows. Aoi and Tsubaki also gave each other a purpose and basically saved each other, with aoi giving tsubaki a chance to sing again after insisting on it for so long, assuring her but not pressuring that it's okay for her not to be perfect because her voice is still beautiful and she needs tsubakis voice on rondo and tsubaki allowing aoi to be herself, being the only one who saw aoi past this handsome facade: because she knows the real, clumsy aoi, the one who's scared of bugs, the one who is an airhead and gets lost on conversations, the one who doesn't want to be recognized only for her appearance as a "handsome girl", because for her aoi isn't only handsome or cute, for tsubaki, aoi is pretty, beautiful. (Sorry i re-read the haruna aoi relations event yesterday and i think im still feeling things over tsubakis phrases)

Both are extremely important to each other and hiiro has canonically described them as soulmates, both because they balance each other, but also because they allow the other to be true to themselves. While tsubaki seemed to be a instant crush however, we can see aois crush slowly forming through the stories and it's just so vkcnkdnckjd. Rika herself has thanked Aoi for making Tsubaki smile again (shuffle event story) and they make me insane. However, one is an airhead and whenever she tries to confess something gets in the way and the other is a nervous mess who never truly gets the courage to be honest and, even when she does, the flirt goes over aois head. It's the world's silliest dumb mutual pining ever and they're so in love it makes me crazy.

Also Marika has literally canonically joked about the two marrying but that's another thing.

And even if she is a disaster, tsubaki is still a cool, caring friend to the others. She will always be the one telling haruna about the real aoi, the one who will be there to call nagisa out when she's being too impulsive with her ideas, the one who allows aoi to be herself, the moon to rika's bright sun, the tutor and caring figure to miyu. Tsubaki may be a mess, but she is still someone kind and caring behind the stern gaze, someone who wishes to help others and become close to them, no matter how nervous of doing so she may be.

Jay the ore jenny:

My self insert! A genderfluid Ore Jenny who hangs around Flat-Top and Dustin. ADHD in full swing, loves to talk and flap their hands. Gets crushes on a lot of men- They're a bit small for a freight truck and wear goggles due to poor eyesight. Just an excitable lad.

Striker the diesel engine:

A diesel who was born with no wheels and weak legs, needs crutches to walk around. He lives in a yard in Tennessee, married to Trax, the adoptive Dad of Greaseball. A bit of an older guy, the true Dilf. Very caring and kind, but will also wack you if you do something dumb.

Laddie the kiddy train:

The engine of a kiddy train in an abandoned zoo. None of his coaches are sentient, the only reason he's sentient is because he has a small motor. Has heelys instead of skates, uses a bell rather than a horn or whistle. He tries to be optimistic but it's really hard when nobody has visited him in ten years and they took all the animals...

The Pipes/Smokebox the steamer:

A Steam Train who's boiler burst, was left wandering the woods blind, mute, and half deaf because the pipes and the explosion just wrecked him. He's mainly seen as an urban legend that's told to trainlets to dissuade them from leaving the yard, but he's very much real. He wants to find someone to fix him, but everyone runs away when he's near.

Snowy the snow plow:

A huge snow plow that reverse hibernates (sleeps all year until snow falls). Very no nonsense and rough, though also motherly, the perfect blend for an old lady. Has ice skates instead of normal skates and carries a big snow shovel around. Poppa/Momma's sister, they argue a lot though. Famous for having all the muscle and a big chest, ultimate milf. Married to Firebox, he's her malewife, and the mother of Hotspur and Coldsnap.

Firebox the Steamer:

A small steam train who likes to joke and goof off. Mans honestly has like no life outside of his wife and kids- He absolutely adores his giant wife and would worship her if she asked (she does). He spends most days with their sons, mothering them-

Hostpur the Diesel:

The literal embodiment of a puppy. He's Goofy, excitable, and honestly not that smart. Even so, he is lovable and loyal, he has a lot of friends. He was born a steamer, but was converted into Diesel when he grew up. He is a hopeless romantic and has a crush on a Sleeping Car named Virgil.

Coldsnap the Snow Plow:

Basically the opposite of his brother. Small, quiet, and thinks before he does things. He's his Mama's Apprentice, and takes his future role very seriously. When he isn't hibernating, he's trying to keep up with Snowy while simultaneously keeping Hotspur from playfully tackling him.

Gio the electric engine:

A young electric engine who failed as a racer. Gio was conceived in a test tube...but failed to impress his creators. He's a massive nerd and likes to play Sonic. He has a hard time grasping his electricity, often flaring and causing power outages. He has headgear that he has to wear most times, and he's green, so most don't think he's very attractive.

IQ the bay window caboose:

He grew up in a small flock of cabeese that had evolved to not have a voicebox. Eventually, growing tired of the silence, IQ fixed himself and learned to speak. He was kicked out of the flock, but he's fine by his own. He likes to sing terribly and play the accordion.

Nolan the Irish engine:

Hailing from Ireland, Nolan looks like a model engine: strong, handsome, a pretty coach by his side...but he's really unhappy. He's had to stifle his identity and personality in order to appease his yard. Cricket is in the process of breaking him out of all this,

Cricket the Australian engine:

From Australia, Cricket is just a happy guy. He likes wearing dad shirts and going to carnivals. Lately, he's been focusing all this optimism on helping Nolan with his trauma.

Toolbox the Therapy Truck:

Born a repair truck, Toolbox realized he wasn't all that inclined to help with actual repairing and welding and all that stuff. He settled for being Apollo Victoria's one and only therapist, much to the chagrin of his twin, Sprocket.

Sprocket the Repair Truck:

This guy is one word: Grumpy. He takes his job extremely seriously, which makes him a bit less sympathetic to certain things. Even so, this guy is basically like a toasted marshmallow: you gotta get past all the burnt parts to get to the soft middle. He's a secret romantic with a long distance partner, also likes romance novels and bubble baths with champagne.

Chug the Rescued Engine:

Once upon a time, authorities investigated a facility that bred trains and said authorities saw a million violations and shut the facility down. Out of that facility came Chug, traumatized and missing his babies. These days, he's doing a lot better. He lives with Toolbox and their dozen foster kids.

Tally the Ticketmaster:

Not a train, but a ticket machine. Tally sells tickets to human passengers, but he wants more in life. His feet are bolted to the ground, and he desperately wants to leave his post and have fun.

Bernadette the Business Class Car:

An older coach that is a reference/agent for most great racers. She raced with dozens of champions when she was younger and understands all there is about racing now. She has a new york accent, a big tooth gap, a 60s pin curl hairstyle, and loves to smoke and wear a lot of red lipstick.

kristy was honestly. better than s1. she has grown, and a lot of the things i disliked about her in s1 were not present in s2. her and watson's relationship progression was so great to see, and i def cried at the end of the s2 finale.

mary anne has GROWN. like... it's truly wild how different she is from s1 to now. but in the best way possible. she is still adorable and awkward but more confident in herself and even navigated through her first "we need to talk?!" part of a relationship. mary anne and her dad also.................. their relationship progressing more and him being okay with her DATING with the prepared note card speech was so great. i love them.

dawn. dawn dawn dawn. how i adore you. kyndra did an amazing job stepping into this role. i will always miss xochitl, but kyndra did perfectly. and having her be Not Straight is probably the greatest thing!!!!!! i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and this season she finally got to have an episode where she breaks down because let's face it nobody is perfect and things that bother you over time eventually cause you to explode... (relatable) so her episode was so necessary and i adore her and i think how her and mary anne got through their first "fight" as almost sisters was rather mature of them and they are so so so so so good. honestly probs my fave friendship amongst the whole group. esp w/ the foundation from s1.

jessi was honestly a surprise for me since i wasn't really sure what to expect. i don't think her episode was as intertwined maybe as the others were to the whole season BUT i actually really liked her episode because of how relatable it was to me do i like this activity for real or do i like it because i'm good at it? it was something i asked myself all the time as a kid especially as i started to grow up and realize actually i'm not that great compared to others. her friendship with that famous child was very sweet and i like how they just were able to talk to each other about their struggles and help each other have fun! and for jessi to realize she actually does like to dance... it was cute and wholesome and i definitely shed a tear when the whole group went to see her perform :') on a side note mary anne being there when jessi's mom was yelling at her was literally so funny my poor baby was trying so hard to disappear into the chair ;___;

stacey's episode i don't have toooo much to say but i really appreciate how her friends all tried to make sure she was okay. obviously she should have taken it slow but i also relate w/ stacey with holding things in and pretending everything is fine (when it's not) and i think why i love these kids so much is that of course they fight and have arguments but they are just... so good and apologizing. like when stacey apologized to everyone for what happened ;__;

i don't have much to say about mallory bc she didn't have her own episode so i don't really know her (and i've never read the books lol) so no comment really here

and finally.............. miss claudia kishi herself. her first episode i was honestly a bit shocked to see her struggle so much to connect with mallory since she always seemed to get along with everyone. but also i once again ALSO relate since i don't like ppl asking questions excessively and not trying to think for themselves even if that's rude to think 😭😭😭 and it was cute that she took ashley's advice to repair her relationship with mallory AND even to attempt to connect with janine.

and then we get to claudia and the sad goodbye which GENUINELY ruined me as a human being. the FORESHADOWING they gave was too much. starting it off with claudia trying to make tea traditionally and mimi saying "you're learning to make for the whole family" because claudia is going to have to "take over" for mimi like... THAT was too much. and then mimi practically knowing she was going to die that night and saying GOODBYE, MY CLAUDIA. and then to see claudia absolutely break down??? NO. NOT ALLOWED. momo really did such an amazing job with this how she repressed EVERYTHING and tried to act as normal as possible and then eventually broke when mary anne made her talk about it. even before you could just see the tears in her eyes as she tried to laugh and pretend as if nothing were wrong. and the pain in her voice ;___;

"i don't want to feel my grief. my grief feels horrible. my grief feels like. like my chest is going to explode. like i can't breathe. like everything is over and nobody... nobody understands."

listen just typing out these words is making me cry and then when she came back to her house and freaks out at janine for going through mimi's jewelry to give to ashley for JANINE TO BE LIKE I'M IN LOVE WITH HER??????????????? and claudia immediately regretting it and then them talking about the bracelet mimi wanted to give ashley and then them reminiscing over what that bracelet meant to mimi and talking about how mimi always paid attention to them and cared. and then janine asking for permission from claudia to give ashley the bracelet... this whole scene just was the most emotional tv i've ever seen and THEN AND THEN???????????????? they DARED hug and have claudia say "my janine" as if i wasn't already broken they had to be like ACTUALLY we aren't done. god that scene was just like one gut punch after another. i am once again crying thinking about this. honestly masterclass and then claudia honoring their culture and having the gathering in her room to remember mimi and HER MAKING TEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and her even inviting ashley and janine as a couple....... honestly i've never read the books but i knew this was coming and it completely ruined me as expected but in the worst ways possible and it might be 1 of my favorite episodes of tv even if it just hurts so much. they did so well with this episode, this character, and this family also oddly just in home life in an asian household in western media - bsc still hits it out of the park compared to every other show i've watched which is extremely sad but makes me happy for bsc :) even seeing them come home and take their shoes off at the door was... comforting

anyways i'm done crying now (probably not) and if you are planning to watch season 2 please be prepared to cry multiple times

How I Picture a Batfam Age Reversal

I’m going to write this as a fic (And I want to go on into a young justice world where dick forms the team and his siblings are protective) but here is the outline in bullet points in case anyone is interested. Please note this is VERY first draft.

Ages (At end) & Order:

Damian- 24

Duke- 21

Stephanie- 20

Tim- 21

Cassandra- 19

Jason- 19

Dick- 13

Damian is Ten when he is sent to live w/ his father. Bruce is 30.

They don’t really work well together at first. But Selina, Alfred, and Clark somehow get it through Bruce’s thick skull that he has to care for this child.

Damian keeps sneaking out on patrol, against B’s wishes. Eventually, he let’s Damian join and tells him to choose a name (Not what we meant, Bruce!)

Damian wants to go for something like Shadow, or Demon, but Bruce puts his foot down. He says that Damian shouldn’t try to be darkness.

Damian is pouting in the gardens when he finds a wounded robin. It’s wing is broken. He demands that the animal should be taken to a shelter, and carries it in his hand the whole way there.

The bird makes it, and Damian demands to be called Robin. He designs his suit, going slightly more colorful. “I might be called Robin, but I am NOT wearing brown, Pennyworth.”

Bruce introduces him to Superboy (Jon, note: less age dif) and the pair are close friends.

He is Robin for a little over seven years before he begins to fight with Bruce about being allowed to patrol alone, and being his own hero. (basically what happened w/ Dick).

Damian leaves Gotham, opting to claim Bludhaven. Jon joins him. He suggests they call each other Nightwing and Flamebird. Damian thinks it’s a bit childish, but he can’t say no to Jon. They’re costumes are here. (done by @hyperactive-lectiophile! Fantastic job!)

They eventually realize they’re in love w/ each other, all while trying to figure their lives  out. Damian briefly tries to join the police. He hates it. Eventually, he enrolls in BH college for a major in Art and a minor in business.

Later in Gotham, the We Are Robin/Robin War stuff happens. Long story short, Duke is adopted. 

Damian is angry to find out he has a new brother, goes to Gotham to yell at Bruce, but then meets Duke. They bond, and are close siblings. Damian makes his father promise to not adopt any more strays.

Stephanie Brown wants to stop her Father, so she sews up a costume and goes out as Batgirl. Bruce is apprehensive at first, but his family basically yells at him to train the poor girl before she gets hurt.

He does, and after Steph meets Damian, who she absolutely adores (He loves her too. The way she pisses his father off is legendary), Stephanie decides she wants to be Robin. Batgirl was good for dealing with her father, but she wants to belong to this new family, and, w/ Damian’s blessing, she makes a new costume.

Unfortunately, after a while, Stephanie is killed by Black Mask (her death is faked, like in the comics, but the Fam doesn’t know)

Enter Tim Drake. Batman has been going crazy over grief, and not even Nightwing, Catwoman (this is SOOOO batcat, btw) or The Signal can calm him down. Tim steps right up, and demands to be robin.

Damian and Bruce fight over this. Surprisingly, Damian is the one who thinks Tim should be given a chance. He sees how his father has been acting. Damian knows that Tim must be brilliant to figure out their identities, and thinks that should count for something. Duke takes his side, knowing that it takes guts to talk to batman, and be willing to join him. Bruce, meanwhile, is a constant chant of “no more dead robins”. After a while, and lots of arguing, Tim takes his place as Robin. They redesign the suit, and he takes his place as robin.

It’s little while after this that Stephanie comes back. Tim offers Robin back, but Stephanie declines. They talk and grow closer. At one point they talk about Stephanie’s new moniker. She says she doesn’t want to be Batgirl either. She wants something new. Tim suggests Spoiler (Bad pun turned brilliant idea?).

Cassandra Cain arrives on the scene next. She saves the commissioner’s life (like No Man’s Land, minus No Man’s Land), and Stephanie immediately imprints on this tiny assassin child (So do the rest of the family, but Steph claims the fourteen-year old first. She and Bruce fight over custody.). She offers Cass Batgirl. Gotham gained a new vigilante, and Bruce Wayne adopted a new child. (Faster than the comics, I KNOW. But Cass deserves happiness)

Everyone loves their new sister, and everyone spoils her. Duke is the one to take her to a ballet the first time. She immediately begs to be put into lessons.

Somewhere in here Tim’s mom dies and his dad is in a coma. Bruce takes him in.

Eventually, Bruce decides to offer Tim Red Robin, hoping to avoid the strife he had with Damian. (Like in the comics, Bruce was going to give Jason Red Robin)

Tim is unsure of this, and puts off deciding. Then little Jason Peter Todd decides to jack the tires of the batmobile and is immediately taken in.

Everyone is captivated by the tiniest addition to their family, but it's also at this time that Jack Drake finds out about Robin and forces Tim to quit. Tim gives Jason his blessing to become Robin.

Everyone pitches in on helping train the newest Robin. Damian teaches the kid things he learned from the league (non-lethal things, since Damian loves this kid), Duke teaches him escrima fighting, Stephanie (Much to Bruce’s dismay) has a full seminar of the delicacies of glitter bomb making. Tim teaches the kid hacking, when he can get away from his dad. 

Unfortunately, when Jason has been Robin for almost a year, he is killed by the Joker.

The family is torn apart by greif. But this time around, Bruce has a much larger support system. All of them lean on each other.

The only time that Damian ever broke his no-kill rule while living with his father was to kill the Joker. He hunted and murdered the clown, sparing Harley. He had been friends with Quinzel since he was Robin, and knew how the Joker treated her. Harley became the batfam’s honorary aunt after this.

Bruce was too emotionally tired to fight with Damian over his actions, so no one said anything. Eventually, Bruce and Damian did argue. Damian refused to apologize,, though he did promise his father to never kill again. Their relationship was strained for a while, but they worked through it.

Less than a year later, Jack Drake dies, and Tim comes back onto the vigilante scene. He refuses to become Robin, however, choosing to take Bruce up on his offer and become Red Robin. He designs his own suit, and the world seems to slowly become normal. Or some semblance of it.

One night, the circus is in town and the whole family (except Alfred) is home. Duke, Tim, and Steph drag Bruce, Cass, and Damian to go see it.

It is on this night that Dick Grayson’s parents fall to their death. Dick is sent to live in juvi, meanwhile Bruce tries to adopt Dick. He succeeds, and the manor once again has a bright young child running through it’s halls.

Dick figures out the secret identities of his family and instantly demands to be allowed out. He wants to take down Zucko, and won’t settle for every single member hunting for him. Dick wants to take down his parent’s murdered himself. He tries to sneak out multiple times, but is always stopped.

Damian talks to Dick (They are extremely close) and explains the origins of Robin. He says that the mantle was born out of a want to distance himself from the revenge and violence of the league. Dick cries when he learns this and says that his own parents used to call him Robin. He suggests that the mantle is more than a personal need. Robin is Family.

Damian almost immediately demands that Dick be trained and help catch Zucko. Bruce is confused, as before, Damian was strongly against letting a nine-year-old fight crime. Damian explains (after much cajoling. He might be more emotionally open and healthy than when he first arrived in the manor, but the kid is still constipated) what Dick had said, and that Damian understands the kid’s need for direction. “When I first came here, I needed Robin. I might not have known it, but I did. Richard needs Robin now, as well.”

The family took sides on the issue, but eventually Dick (with the aid of his puppy-dog-eyes™) won everyone over. He got his own Robin costume, and they caught Zucko.

Dick refused to stop being Robin, and so Gotham gained a new bird.

Dick was Robin for almost two years when The Red Hood made his appearance in Gotham. No one knew what he wanted, as he didn’t seem to do much beyond killing criminals. They thought he was a vigilante at first, but then he began to take over the criminal underbelly of Gotham, regulating crime. On top of that, Red Hood targeted Robin. Attacking the boy wonder when no one else was around. After the red helmeted rogue let loose a few hints about the league of shadows, Damian interrogated his mother, who explained the identity of The Red Hood, and how she had set him on Gotham.

As soon as the family figured out the newcomer’s identity, and the reason he was alive Damian tracked him down. He knew how to deal with pit rage from his childhood, and brought the lost bird back to the nest.

The family was whole for the first time in years. Jason was still angry and resentful, but he had his family back. Jason was grateful for Damian taking revenge for him, and they were once again close. 

Slowly, Jason let everyone back in, including Bruce. Dick is wary at first of this new older brother, but the little chicken nugget quickly warms up to Jason, and even convinces him to teach him how to shoot a gun (In secret, of course, Dami and Bruce would blow a gasket). Jason couldn’t resist the kid. It was physically impossible.

A year later, Cass decides to pursue dance as her career. She gets a job with the Hong Kong Ballet company. She moves there, and decides to take a new moniker: Black Bat. Her family is so proud of her, but they miss her dearly. Duke visits often, bringing new back to the family.

The absence of Batgirl is filled after a while by Barbara Gordan. She makes her own costume and starts going out. Once again, Stephanie Brown adopts a smol bean (Well, not legally. The commissioner is still alive) and outfits her with a more Gotham-friendly suit and weaponry (I.e. heavy kevlar and leather)

Babs is taken whole-heartedly into the fold, and is made an honorary sister.

hi friends! i’m very excited to be here. i’m jay (est, she/her) n i used to play astrid nyland a few months ago if anyone remembers bt i had to leave for personal reasons. i’m so glad to be back now that i hve life sorted and some free time for summer break <3 read on for some details abt this new muse of mine, clementine. 

01. biography !

so ! clementine was born in florida. & yes, her real name is clementine. her mom thot it was the cutest name idea ever. clementine mostly goes by clem. she comes from the town [redacted] in florida bcoz i am too lazy to look up a specific town <3 but alas ! it was swampy and humid and she lived in a trailer park. 

her parents got knocked up at nineteen. clem was born nine months after a particularly wild 1999 fourth of july. her birthday is march 26th and she’s an aries. 

(TW: addiction, child injury) clem’s dad was a gambling addict and petty criminal—he wld steal credit cards n whatnot. he wld gamble away diaper money n it would cause constant fighting until her dad finally left. her mom took this very hard n began drinking a bit too often, leaving clem to to make cereal for dinner n fend for herself. once clem tried to make hot dogs on the stove and spilled boiling water on herself. got a p bad burn on her arm/shoulder and still has a big scar.

the soundtrack of her childhood was cicadas buzzing and stray dogs barking. the sizzle and pop of natty light cans. turning up her ipod to max volume to drown out the sounds of her mother fighting with her new boyfriend.

throughout her upbringing, clem’s dad was always in and out of the picture. he’d blow into town when he hit it big. he’d take her on these little “adventures” like staying in a motel 6 n renting movies at block buster n ordering good pizza nt the dominos shit she ate with her mom lol. ofc he was charging it all to someone’s stolen credit card. he’d always promise to, like, take clem away. n clem was a daddy’s girl so she believed him. the last time it happened was her h.s. graduation. her mom didn’t show ( "overslept” after a bender ) but her dad did and surprised her n said everything wld be different. bt then he bailed on their plans for the next day n when she called his cell, the number was disconnected. tht was the defining “i’m done” moment. clem promised to never be disappointed by her father again.

(TW: racism) her mother has mexican ancestry and clem’s always been called her twin. but clem was raised in a predominately white area and honestly ?? it was really hard without her even realizing it. she’s still unpacking a lot of things today abt her youth that jst weren’t okay bt she thought were normal. like microaggressions, stereotypes, being fetishized by boys in high school. gross shit.

as a kid, clem was rumored to be really poor bc she wore tattered clothes n got free lunch at school. once she invited a friend to her house & the next day they told everyone it’s in a trailer park. that reputation—the “trailer park girl”—was really hard to shake. and clem got almost desperate to shake it. she was endlessly trying to set her old self on fire and emerge from the ashes like a phoenix.

eventually clem became more “popular”. in school she was, like, a straight b student. very average although super creative and quick-thinking. she always had street smarts. problem solving skills. independence. more of, like, practical intelligence as opposed to book smarts because academia bores her tbh. she was like why am i reading these overrated boring books by dead white men or learning abt polynomials when i know nothing abt how to pay a mortage or do taxes. like...she saw the american education system as bullshit and put in modest effort because she didn’t believe it deserved her sweat and tears. 

however, she entered the online lottery for the seas program on a whim and got in. so she’s studying creative writing now.

02. personality !

first thing you shld know abt clem is that she’s a compulsive liar essentially—she tells various stories to make her life seem better than what it was. to one person, she’s an heiress to a real estate company and grew up wealthy. to the next she was raised by nomadic hippies. some of her lies are small fibs while others are grandiose tales. she rarely talks about her actual upbringing. she hates talking abt her family or the v real trauma of growing up in a household where both parents struggled w/ addiction; the uncertainty, the broken promises, the fact that she had to grow up so soon and deal w/ so much. it wasn’t fair, and if she thinks about it too much, she feels this anger. anger at the universe. anger at her circumstances. she doesn’t know where to put this anger. she doesn’t know how to shrink it. so she avoids it.

despite her rough upbringing, though, clem is actually really sweet and kind. she’s adventurous, fun-loving, free-spirited, and bold. 

bt ! she can also be closed-off, competitive and restive. 

she’s seemingly tight with everyone? like she’s jst that girl who can get along with anyone tbh. 

in her spare time you can catch her tanning by the pool, hanging at the bar, playing pool ( which she learned from her dad ), and socializing. she’ll never say no to hanging out with people. 

she learned a lot from her little “adventures” with her dad, who was very good at conning others and often involved her in his dumb little scams. clem is suuuper good at pulling the ‘im baby 🥺’ card to get what she wants.

she can be a little selfish, because she grew up looking out for herself. 

stubborn and dogmatic as hell !!!

she doesn’t do too many relationships but when she does fall, i imagine she falls hard and fast. she refuses to be made a fool of, tho. when she gets vulnerable she flashes back to being a kid, waiting all day for her dad to show up only to have him bail on her. again. she hates that feeling. so if she, like, senses a shift in someone’s energy she’ll b like, “i’ll break up with u before u can do it to me” and the person wasn’t even tryna dump her lmao.

has a lot of sex. too much ?? sex?? mayb. but she’s v sex positive.

her personal style is v late 90s. hair clips, big scrunchies, neon, fur trim, crop and tube tops, hoop earrings, chokers, patterns, platform shoes, biodegradable glitter cuz it’s good fr the earth *winks*. clothes from o-mighty.......actually jst google o mighty, pull up the images and That is clem. she dresses like a bratz doll. she’s dedicated to the aesthetic.

03. headcanons !

her item brought from home is a hot pink poker chip from a casino. her dad gave it to her. he said it reminded him of her because of the color; he got it during one of his winning streaks and said it was lucky. she has a complicated relationship w/ her dad n doesn’t even speak to him anymore, bt she will never go anywhere without it.

she’s a smol bean—only 5′4

an astrology girl and she reads palms ! she absolutely makes astrology tik toks that people only watch because she’s hot. her flirting technique is to ask you to read your palm.

she doesn’t typically drink to get drunk. but she does love a good sugary cocktail. to her, a drink is like an accessory. a blue fishbowl by the pool, a jack and coke as she stands around a bar. usually she'll nurse the same beverage for a while. if you see her wasted it usually means she’s going thru it emotionally lol. the one thing she does do is drugs tho 

pretty much listens to exclusively female artists.

a bit of an activist. environmentalism, feminism and the like, she’s v outspoken. vegan for ethical reasons (TW: drugs) bt still does cocaine. she wears shirts with ‘my pussy my choice’ bedazzled on the front.

loves to rollerblade ! back home she didn’t have a car so she’d bike or rollerblade. now she still has her blades and she’ll use them when the ship docks. 

03. wanted connections !

Friends, bffs, ride or dies, friends who are like siblings to her, maybe a friend with an unrequited crush on either side ??

an ex she dumped/cheated on/otherwise self sabotaged their relationship because she was afraid of vulnerability.

an ex friend who realized she lies a lot abt herself n felt betrayed. OH ! ESP if they opened up to her on many occasions abt intimate, personal stuff. imagine the betrayal they felt when they found that everything they thought they knew abt clem is a lie.

someone who she actually opens up to. a confidant. or, maybe, like, a stranger she drunkenly spilled her soul to and now she avoids them like the plague.

a rival. clem can be competitive.

her drug dealer 

someone she knows she shouldn’t hook up with and… does it anyways. like a friend’s ex or smthing. spicy <3

anyways I love animorphs still

I feel like I'll end up repeating myself a lot during these little liveblogs lmao but mannnn it’s so good. its so hardcore. like I know that that’s the whole Thing but I still get shocked by some of the stuff that happens 

like a big theme in the series centers around the morality of killing your enemies - and it’s so all over the place bc in book 6 you have jake boiling a bunch of yeerks alive, which is kinda gnarly if you think abt it, but the alternative would be to leave them there and let them infest people soo...? and that’s basically the point, that there are never any easy choices in war 

also I went on the animorphs wiki to look at trivia bc I love doing that and I cant BELIEVE (some of) the books were reissued in 2011 and they changed/removed some of the references to be more ‘modern’ omfg....talk about erasing 90s culture smh 

likeeee I was born in 97 so I didn't exactly grow up in the 90s and therefore some of the references go over my head but its so charming and fun to have them there! and it makes sense given that the books are SET in the 90s

I don't remember ever being confused by any of the references as a kid (tho for sure a lot of them went over my head), but then again I read the books in like 2008 sooo

also some of the stuff that they change - like changing ‘recorded w/a vcr’ to ‘recorded w/the TV’ or ‘floppy disc’ to ‘flash drive’ may make more sense to modern audiences, but doesn't make sense in the context of the story still being set in the 90s

tho it is funny that the books use the phrase ‘hook up’ to mean ‘meet up’ a lot bc that is a phrase that definitely has a different meaning nowadays

alsooooo as it turns out I'm p sure I only read a couple of the spinoffs - the hork-bajir chronicles and the ellimist chronicles (which was confusing lmao), bc my library didn’t have the others :( 2007/2008 woes....

but now I get to read the spinoffs woooooooo so I read the first megamorphs and the andalite chronicles 

I'm reading them in the chronological order (I think?) which is good bc part of the problem was that I read the ellimist book at a completely weird time and it confused me more lmao

megamorphs 1 basically felt like a regular animorphs book except longer, but the plot didn't feel like it needed all that extra page space tbh? even so it was an entertaining adventure

and rachel having amnesia was great, amnesia is one of my fav tropes lmao. and it was a lot of fun here, though a bit underutilized 

another favorite trope of mine is time travel, so I'm gonna have a really fun time here w/that

as for the andalite chronicles, I really enjoyed that one. I thought it was a well done story about the horrors of war (which is a theme animorphs does excellently), kind of similar to the overarching story of the whole series, but fit into one book without feeling rushed

the way the story starts out with elfangor wanting to be a hero, not understanding what that entails, to the end where he IS going to be a hero, and he knows now that this is a burden rather than a reward 

the horror elements are also really strong, with the taxxon morph being horrifying of course

and mannnn I loved that we got to see more of the taxxons as a species, and see that not all taxxons submitted to the yeerks - which breaks the previous theme of ‘all the taxxons are evil just because’ 

this book also establishes that the taxxons gave themselves over to the yeerks due to their constant hunger being unbearable, so it isn’t just that they’re evil for fun 

animorphs does such an excellent job showing that each ‘side’ of a war will have good and bad (or at least sympathetic and unsympathetic) people 

also loren was awesome, what a cool character. though I didn't realize she was literally like 13 until the very end of the book, holy shit. that's crazy. i thought she was 16 at the youngest....geez. her throwing a rock at visser 3 is even more iconic knowing she's a middle schooler at the time

and chapman was here! I'm assuming this must be the same chapman as the assistant principal controller... I thought it was a little strange to put chapman in that role, bc in this book he was a huge asshole basically the entire time, but in the previous (’future’) book it was revealed that he became a controller willingly only to spare his daughter, which is pretty far from this book where he’s actively trying to sell humanity out to the yeerks...people change I guess? (also he got his memory erased so I guess there's that)

alloran was a really interesting character. horrors of war again - we hear from his old buddy that he used to be a fun, witty guy, but war changed him into somebody who would do horrible things 

and him becoming a controller was horrifying, obviously, but I like that alloran wasn't portrayed as some perfect, holy guy in order to make it all the more tragic when he got infested. its already fucked up enough as it is, and making him flawed was a lot more meaningful 

and him wanting to flush all the yeerks out into space....oooooof the (later) parallels hurt 

plus the fact that elfangor refusing to commit genocide against the helpless yeerks (even though they’re the enemy) directly contributing to alloran becoming a controller.....oof. I love that it shows that even making the morally correct decisions during war can lead to awful things happening, but not in a way that endorses evil actions - the story isn’t saying that elfangor should have killed the yeerks, it’s saying that there are no good choices in war 

arbron being trapped as a taxxon was fucked up. but also really intriguing, especially how he found purpose and led a free taxxon uprising. I don't remember if we hear from him/the free taxxons again but I hope so

also the plot twist of tobias being elfangors SON...bruh. I do remember that despite not having read this book so it must come up in the main story later but my memory of that is vauge so I’m excited to see how that plays out. it’s always gonna be hilarious to me that ax is technically tobias’s uncle 

and then the ellimist drops in and wacks up the time stream even more. classic. I love the crazy time travel stuff in animorphs

omfg and the bits where elfangor is a human tech guy and talked about his friends bill and steve LMAOOOOO

also the scene where elfangor drives the yellow mustang while blasting '(I cant get no) satisfaction’ by the rolling stones was one of the most iconic things I've ever read

basically I loved all the angles of war fucking people up. from loren’s dad, to alloran, to elfangor himself learning about the true horrors of war...v well done imo

ok back to the main series - so my pick for the most fucked up scene SO FAR (in my own personal opinion) - the scene where they're in the jungle and rachel passes out in bear morph and a bunch of rainforest ants start EATING HER ALIVE and like crawling into her ears and mouth and HGGGGGG that was genuinely so fucking disturbing

its a good thing that the time travel made it so rachel couldn't remember that bc that was fuuuuucked

another contender is a scene we don't actually see - erek having his capacity for violence instated and then slaughtering a ton of human and hork-bajir controllers 

like damn, you know its fucked up when its too fucked up for ANIMORPHS to even ‘show.’ this is a series that doesn't pull punches but evidentially that would've been Too Much to actually portray (understandably). also i feel like seeing the aftermath/everyone’s reactions had more of an impact than describing erek killing a bunch of people would have

also I forgot that marco Literally Fucking Dies during that scene and that's why he doesn't get to see the slaughter. wow

and then in the very next book JAKE dies too. jesus

oh it was also so sad and fucked up when marco’s dad told him that he and his wife used to fight sometimes, but then all of a sudden they stopped fighting, and their relationship was basically entirely peaceful and perfect - and this is how marco knows exactly when his mom was made into a controller, bc of course a yeerk wouldn't care enough to get into petty arguments like that....ooooof

Okay and book 15 really got me...that was fucking heavy man. Geeeez. Everything w/Marco and his mom is so fucked uppppp

Like he literally has to deal with so much awful traumatizing shit. The scene where he pretends to be a controller and is face to face w/visser one and THAT HIS MOM but he can’t even do anything, and he just sees the evil in her eyes and thinks about how there’s no way she had been controlled by a yeerk that long before bc he’s never seen her look like that...that was so fucking sad.

Plus Marcos mom now thinking that Marco is a controller...aughh...and then later Marco knows he can’t even think-speak to her bc he’ll just talk about everything he’s wanted to talk about to his mom this whole time... ;_;

And the parts where Marcos humor slips and the utter rage he feels towards the situation comes through...man

Plus everything about him being understandably afraid of sharks after being nearly torn in half by one back during their first dolphin adventure

Augh oh and jake telling Marco that everyone can tell something is up bc Marco isn’t joking around and talking about how insane their plan is like usual, so Marco fakes it sand does all that even tho he’s terrified and conflicted...aughhhh

Ok and the last scene where Marco is thinking about a future where he and his parents can talk plainly about how awful and traumatizing everything is, and then eventually they’ll feel okay enough to joke about it, bc Marcos mom is the one who taught him to look at the funny side of life...Oh The Pain

There were a lot of great fucked up individual lines in this book too. I’m just so sad about these poor middle schoolers jfc

Also I do distinctly remember the scene where they collapse the shark tank at Ocean World or w/e, it was weird af reading it bc I remembered none of the rest of the book but got weird deja vu reading that scene and remembering having read it like 13+ years ago

if it’s not clear by now I have a pretty terrible memory for media which is honestly good bc then I can reread things and it’s like new

Also jake...man...I said it previously but I was kinda eh about jake when I first read these bc he’s kinda the ‘basic’ character, but now I find his story much more interesting

His conflict over being leader is really good. KAA does a fantastic job capturing the pressure he’s under bc he was chosen by his friends to be the leader, so he REALLY can’t back out, and he doesn’t necessarily feel up to it, but feels he has no choice in the matter...

And constantly having to make really difficult decisions that could get his friends killed...geez. It’s so much pressure. And he talks about wanting to go back to being a normal kid when this is all over, and it kinda strikes me as him being in denial - like, there’s no way things can ever be ‘normal’ again, but that’s his way of coping.

Especially with Tom and all that. That conflict is so compelling...jake having to play all these different roles - as leader, as a son/student, as a regular brother to Tom - he’s constantly having to act a certain way and rarely gets to be Himself

It’s actually kinda relatable in a way - that feeling of being In Charge, but in a somewhat abstract and informal way, so you feel like regular old you, but you have to carefully regulate how you act bc the people around you expect a certain standard of behavior from you...

And all the morally grey situations they’re put in are fucked up, but especially for jake who has the final say on what they do, even when knowing it could lead to his friends being killed or made into controllers

Like in the book with the cannibal yeerk guy - there’s basically no good choices there. Jake lets the cannibal live, and (at first) implies that it’s for the best that he’s cannibalizing other yeerks and therefore helping get rid of some yeerks - except that he kills their hosts too

but the alternative would be to directly kill another human being who isn't actively fighting/resisting you, which is a fucked up thing for a middle schooler to have to do 

And the conflict between jake and Cassie is really excellent bc jake has to make these awful decisions, and Cassie is the type of person who can’t stand that sort of thing, so it gets left up to jake a lot, but then she’s upset with jake for doing something awful, even while knowing that there were no better options

like, her asking jake to kill the cannibal guy for her was really fucked up, but also entirely understandable for cassie as a character to ask. it was an emotionally charged situation, and cassie is an emotional person. she’s also somebody who like to Act, to do concrete good, and getting rid of an Evil Bad Guy in front of her would be a definite action

But Cassie is a great source of morality to the group - most of them are pretty jaded, but Cassie is able to hope in a way none of the rest are. It creates a really compelling dynamic between jake and Cassie that I kinda dismissed when I was like 10 or w/e

Also the scene where jake as a fly gets crushed and starts dying? Seriously fucked. And then after when he’s nearly breaking down in the airport and Cassie comforts him...that was a really good scene. Cassie is so good  

And the continuity is so excellent - I love how in book 17, Cassie (and jake to an extent) doesn’t really weigh in on the moral debate abt the oatmeal bc she’s still shaken up by asking jake to murder a guy for her, and then (presumably) going ahead and lighting his house on fire when jake doesn’t kill him

And augh jake and Marco have such a good and interesting dynamic - the entire group kinda pushes each other into their respective ‘roles’ in the group, but for a few books that’s really true for jake and marco

I don't remember what book it was but at some point marco (I think) mentions that jake understands what marco is dealing with w/his mom being a controller bc of tom, but that they don’t talk about it bc they ‘don't talk about stuff like that’ or something and I'm just like noooo talk to each other :( 

but at this point jake feels like he can’t really express doubt and fear and stuff like that bc he’s the Leader and they look to him to be strong (which is ironically very similar to how rachel feels), and marco feels like he can’t be serious bc he’s the funny guy. 

Basically I love all the different dynamics in the group. How Cassie and Rachel are such opposites but are best friends and get along well, while Marco and Cassie are more directly opposed - as jake says, Marco is ruthless, and Cassie definitely isn’t. Rachel and Marco are also pretty different which is interesting, bc they have a lot in common, and actually agree on a lot (even if they disagree out loud) but their commonalities combined with their circumstances make them react very differently to the same situations

I also love seeing the differences between characters from each other’s POV - like, p much all the characters think that Rachel is completely fearless, but when the book is from her POV, we get to see that that isn’t true at all - she feels plenty of fear, but she recognizes that her role in the group is to be the fearless one, so she pushes aside her fear to fit into that role (which inadvertently pushes her more and more into that ‘fearless warrior’ box - something that happens to all the characters more and more as the story goes on, like jake as ‘the leader’ and Marco as ‘the jokester’).

Also I loooove the grey morality of literally everything. Like the book where ax discovers an andalite traitor - not a controller, just an andalite who betrayed them to the yeerks. This leads to the deaths of like a hundred other andalites, and that whole scene you really just feel for ax, bc he feels so awful about everyone else dying while he escapes, yet he’s also so grateful to be alive, which he in turn feels bad about...

And ax’s conflict about being torn between his home w/his fellow andalites and his new home on earth w/his friends is great

And oh man I fucking love book 19. Any of the books where it goes more into the yeerks and their side of things are so good, just like the book where jake was made into a controller.

And book 19, where we meet a sympathetic yeerk, comes right after 18, where we meet an andalite traitor - again, I love how we clearly see that no one side is completely good or completely bad

So yeah book 19 fucking slapped. That shit was so compelling. I love how Cassie made a bunch of foolish decisions based on naïve hope, but it worked out!! Things aren’t always bleak and awful!

Except there were plenty bleak and awful parts of this book. It had a great balance of moods tbh, even though a lot of the situations were extremely contrived lmao. I love the stuff that aftran says, which is basically what I was thinking when I started my reread - being a yeerk fucking sucks, you’re literally a blind slug but also completely and fully sentient, on the same level as humans and andalites - and as afran pointed out this book, the yeerks are born as parasites, just as humans are born as predators - why is it okay for the humans to kill countless animals to eat, but not for the yeerks to enslave races to act as hosts? Well, the situation isn’t totally comparable, which Cassie and Marco both point out when aftran makes that comparison - the yeerks are enslaving sentient species, and cows and chickens are not the same as the humans and hork-bajir (though the story understandably doesn’t fall too deeply into the ‘who deserves what right/animal sentience’ rabbit hole).

And I like that aftran points out that the yeerks basically have 2 options currently - stay helpless and blind in a yeerk pool, or enslave a host. It’s interesting to hear that a lot of yeerks don’t like doing this but see it as the only options, as opposed to complete sensory deprivation. It makes me wonder if there are yeerks who are so staunchly against it that they elect to stay as pool-bound slugs forever

Also maybe it’s the shounen anime fan in me but I don’t even care that much that Cassie’s entire plan was completely off the rails and hinged on only the slightest chance of success - with failure being much more likely and completely catastrophic, with the animorphs and their loved ones all being wiped out, vs success being unlikely and also achieving...a moral victory? Peace between two enemy combatants in a huge war? nothing all that concrete...anyways it was a bunch of good-faith horrible decisions on Cassie’s part, but I don’t even care? I love stories where hope and love save the day against all odds, especially when they’re wielded like weapons by a character and make everything end nicely

This is especially true here bc animorphs is generally a series that leans very far away from that type of thing, so when it does happen, it feels like a victory. Plus the David trilogy is next so we kinda need a happy ending while we can

also bc I compared animorphs to hxh last time, I now have to compare it to the other series I've (partially) liveblogged, transformers mtmte.

this is gonna be more abstract and brief but basically. mtmte is all about after the war, and everyone has so much trauma and everything just sucks, so they all go on a space cruise and work on themselves. basically.

but the series does a lot of exploration of how war fucks people up - same as animorphs, tho animorphs spans the beginning of the war (for the main characters at least) until the end, whereas mtmte starts when the war ends.

but the point is. both series do an excellent job showcasing the wide range of reactions people have to being put in unthinkable situations during wartime. all the major characters in mtmte go through arcs where they heal/change from the war, some more subtle than others

basically the animorphs needs to go on a wacky space cruise adventure with a bunch of other fucked up people and figure their shit out, mtmte style

- At first, they were worried for Byleth, for the initial group they sent out to attack was massive.

- Now?

- There were corpses scattered about everywhere, with their Tiny Professor covered in blood.

- Everyone was shocked, not being able to say anything. Byleth only stopped to kill the last soldier, driving the Sword of the Creator into their chest. Once they looked up, several more soldiers came rushing in, but stopped themselves.

- They just realized that the students didn’t help him, it was just the child.

(Soldier) “W-What in the…?!”

(Byleth) “Like roaches to the slaughter…!”

- Everyone, including the students took a step back, hearing the child’s voice growing more raspy, and bloodthirsty.

- The soldiers sent as reinforcements wasn’t just a ‘few’. 

- They were a 20 man company.

(Soldier) “T-This kid’s got a screw loose! He’s crazy!”

Blue Lions

Dimitri -

- He couldn’t be any more proud of his Tiny Professor.

- For the crime of taking away his friend’s loved ones. There was to be no mercy, no respite.

- Seeing as his Professor was unleashed, it only made sense for the student to join him.

- He raised his lance and joined Byleth in the slaughter.

(Dimitri) “RIP THEM LIMB FROM LIMB!”

- He and Byleth became whirlwinds of death, killing everything that was in the general vicinity. 

- With those two, each soldier died a horrific and painful death.

Dedue -

- He was disappointed in both Dimitri and the Professor.

- The Professor was supposed to stop his majesty from having these violent outbreaks, not encourage them.

- Regardless, he didn’t have time to reflect, he rushed in with the two and began fighting off the enemies.

Felix -

- This wasn’t the professor’s true colors. He was just overcome with grief and anger, so he could slightly understand…

- But that did NOT justify unleashing the Boar Prince as well.

- Whatever, he’d have a very very serious talk with Byleth afterwards.

Sylvain -

- Fear. That’s all there was in Sylvain.

- He was aware that Byleth had been a mercenary but…This level of carnage? He didn’t think someone that small could hold so much rage in them.

- After the shock wore off, he eventually joined in the fray.

Ashe -

- He couldn’t exactly tell off Byleth for his actions, because he felt the same rage when he fought the Western Church members who had corrupted Lonato.

- If anything, he was kinda happy Byleth was getting his revenge as well, but it still scared him just how brutal he was.

- He prayed to the Goddess he’d never make Byleth mad if he were on the other side of the sword.

Ingrid - 

- She was scared for Dimitri and Byleth. She’d never seen either of them so vicious before, and she couldn’t move her pegasus to help for a while.

- It took Sylvain to get her out of the daze, but even then she couldn’t get the image out.

- She’d have to check in on them later, because this wasn’t right.

- It wasn’t them.

Mercedes & Annette -

- They could not move once they heard the Professor shout like that.

- All that time they had been babying him, it was then they truly realized he didn’t need any of that.

- He wasn’t a child, what was before them was a demon.

- Strangely enough, that only motivated them more to be there for the Professor and Dimitri. Both of them were surely just taken over by the grief. That couldn’t be the Professor in his right mind. 

- It couldn’t possibly be.

Black Eagles

Edelgard & Hubert -

- They were barely shocked, if at all.

- After Jeralt’s death, they knew he was just waiting for the chance to unleash everything he had at once, and whatever poor bastard was on the other side today…

- Well, they got what was coming.

- Wasting no time, they both immediately joined the Professor, though they were not nearly as sadistic as him.

Caspar -

- No time to care, there were enemies everywhere!

- Well, there used to be anyway.

- All Caspar wanted was to help his professor take revenge, to hell with these people!

Ferdinand & Dorothea -

- Genuine shock froze them in place. To think, their tiny Professor was capable of such bloodshed.

- Ferdinand gulped hard, barely able to process just how quickly Byleth was killing…No, slaughtering the enemy.

- This wasn’t just a battlefield for revenge, this was a massacre in his eyes.

- Dorothea felt something similar, tempted to take her hat off in respect. But in the end, they truly deserved none. She nudged Ferdinand in the shoulder, and moved forward. He quickly joined.

Bernadetta -

- She screamed once she saw the child kill all 20 of the soldiers with barely any help, and the fight only lasted about 10 seconds.

- Bernadetta wanted to run away, and honestly no one would’ve blamed her if she did. 

- But, this was the moment the professor needed her the most, to leave now would be a complete betrayal of his trust.

- Reluctantly, she grabbed her bow, took a deep breath, and joined the fight.

Petra -

- She was beside herself once the bodies started hitting the floor.

- She was no stranger to combat at this point, but this wasn’t even combat. The soldiers she saw didn’t even have a chance to fight back. This was what she did with animals.

- This was a hunter and a prey, but this hunter wasn’t killing for survival. It was for sport at this point.

- She shook her head, hoping that this would not be permanent, and helped out.

Linhardt -

- He was sicked, absolutely sickened by all this blood.

- He expected Edelgard or Hubert to be capable of this carnage, not their tiny professor.

- The fact that a mere child was performing such crimes made him sick to his stomach.

- At the same time, he couldn’t run. They were here because they had taken away Jeralt, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to let them get away with it because of his personal distaste. 

Golden Deer

Claude -

- To think, after what he said after the graveyard would lead to this.

- He knew that in battle, Byleth was absolutely lethal but…this? This he couldn’t even fathom

- It was like some twisted joke.

- He sighed, drawing arrows from his quiver.

- It was time to help Byleth…Not that it looked like h needed any.

Leonie - 

- She didn’t care about how brutally the soldiers were dying. In fact, she started up a little competition with Byleth as she fought with him.

- How many kills could they get for Jeralt?

- They had taken someone dear from her to, and was she going to do all she could to help Byleth take revenge.

Lysithea, Lorenz & Hilda -

- They genuinely didn’t know what to do.

- From the look of things, Byleth could singlehanded slaughter the entire enemy force, and that wasn’t even including the help from Leonie.

- It absolutely terrified them, seeing a child killing with such hatred.

Raphael & Ignatz -

- They saw just how brutally Byleth was ripping them apart. They stood still, not believing their own eyes.

- The professor around Raphael, sure he wasn’t that emotive, but seemed so happy and easygoing!

- Seeing this side of him shook Raphael to the core. He wasn’t sure he’d be able to look at Byleth the same.

- Meanwhile with Ignatz, he was always so calm and collected, he had never seen the professor angry at the academy at all.

- Ignatz knew that if it were just them in a room, he’d start sweating.

Marianne -

- She was so confused.

- The professor was always so kind and patient with her, to see this side was jarring.

- She recalled all the moments when he helped her out so many times, and with a tiny smile on his face.

- That all seemed so distant now.

- She prayed to the goddess that this wasn’t permanent.

Heck yeah Anon!

Laurie ends up studying from home a lot, so she can stay with Michael, and teach him, but she enjoys it. Michael is smart, and he’s a quick learner in general. Laurie’s a good teacher, because her brother gets frustrated easily, and she’s great at navigating around that so he won’t quit whatever she’s trying to help him learn. It’s hard for Laurie at first, emotionally, to be walking her brother through reading elementary school age kids books, because it’s so unfair he wasn’t given an education, but after a little while, she gets used to it, and enjoys working with him a lot more than is made sad by it. She’s very proud of him for getting things, and makes him feel good about his progress. He is proud of himself too.

Dwight is a weenie when it comes to outdoorsy stuff bc he never did it, but after the realm, he’s happy to try out hiking and stuff with Jake, and they really enjoy it. Jake is willing to play games and go on tv show binges with Dwight in return, and they round each other really well. They’re extremely happy. They also are way more social than they thought, because they never had and real friends before (for wildly different reasons) and cannot /stand/ Quentin and Claudette going away to college, and go up to hang out and take them on trips all the time bc they miss them, although Jake tries to keep that low-key and on the dl way more than Dwight does (he’s actually more distressed about his absent friends he didn’t know he needed tho lol).

Quentin and Claudette go to the same college, and Nancy goes to Grad School with them. Philip goes too, to audit, since he never got a complete formal education, growing up during a war, and straight up going from where he is to /taking/ courses would be stressful. He takes all of Claudette’s classes w her and she walks him through stuff and is teaching him abt plants. The four of them share an appartment close to campus & enjoy it a lot. Nancy and Claudette share an interest (canon to both) in entomology, and love talking about it.

Meg does end up becoming a PI and working with Tapp, who helps her get certified too. They work missing persons cases for extremely cheap, and try to help people. They’re really poor but really good at it, and David bankrolls the whole squad any time someone looks like they’re in need or maybe would just be happy to see cash. Susie stays with her and supports her through school, and decides to try out a lot of things to kind of find her own way in life. Meg loves her very much and helps her figure herself out. They (and Tapp) stay with Meg’s mom Rachel and Gabriel and his daughter Adrianna (the people she made a deal w who helped her survive her cancer treatment), and get along well. David buys Gabriel and Adrianna a house, bc he’s David, but they live across the street and spend a lot of time all together. Rachel moms Susie very effectively.

Adam’s book is successful. He gets a job teaching again, creative writing this time & literature, and enjoys it. He keeps writing too. Jeff, Kate, Ace, and David are his volunteer beta group and do book club over his new chapters and he loves them so much he has cried about it at least twice. Ace and Adam honor their idea to have people all get together at least twice a year for cool trips. In all honesty, they’re kind of all constantly with each other, just rotating from house to house, but biannually they go somewhere new, or out of the country and new to some of them. Min gets to take Nea to China and shows her favorite spots, and shows Quentin shrines, which she’d really wanted to do. They go to China four years after escaping, at which point Anna is rehabilitated, so she gets to go too.

Anna stays with Min, Ace, and Nea most of the time while Quentin is in college, once she’s deemed no longer a threat and is okay to be out in society. It’s very hard for her, because the world is so different, but her kids are FIERCECLY protective, and make her life really good in spite of all the things that should make it impossible. She and Alan have a really weird relationship, because he’s Quentin’s dad and she’s his weird feralish kidnap/adoptive mom, but after an initially weird phase, they get along pretty well, and Anna spends a good deal of time there too, and at the Cabin in Indiana (which officially becomes Jake, Dwight, and Adam’s place of residence, but is also more or less home to everyone forever). Alan has a hard time figuring her out, because she’s so weird and it’s surreal, but she really loves his kid and after seeing them interact enough and how protective and loving she is, he decides he likes her. He tries to go out of his way to be nice to her and make her feel wanted and welcome and like she fits in. Anna likes him too, although she takes a /long/ time to get used to the concept of a Dad entirely. It actually helps her broach a lot of her lingering distaste for men. Eventually he’s someone she looks forward to seeing, and will bring gifts she makes to, along with her kids and their friends.

Who are your favorite top ten black clover characters? ships? Talk about them!

(Ok so I didn't include Asta, cuz it's too easy, and I just love him by default cuz he's a great main character anyway. ALSO GET READY FOR A LONG POST, HERE WE GO):

1. Gordon. I'm a sucker for side characters. His schtick won me over from the start and I adored every chance he got to speak. I guess I can relate to his shyness and trouble fitting in. Sometimes the simple stuff hits harder.

2. Magna. His dub voice is what got me hooked at first. He's the delinquent type with a soft side, which I adore in a character. I like the tough look, but prefer the kind ones, so he's got both of the qualities down already. He's so fun!

3. Henry. HE'S TOO ADORABLE AND PURE, BUT IN THE BEST WAYS. Like when you've been through years of just pure loneliness and isolation, bedridden, and you finally get to be with friends and move around and just have fun with everyone else... Its so good, man. He's just such a wholesome addition to the already fairly wholesome team. But in such a pure way that he just stands out for me.

4. Yami. Okay I have a bias here, cuz I'm just genuinely attracted to him- BUT STILL. He's so funny and awesome! I love that he's always calling out people higher than him for their bs and doesn't let anyone step on him. He doesn't give a crap, but still shows a bit of a soft side for his team of misfits. The found family trope is the purest, best trope there is, man...

5. Finral. I love when shows do cowards right. Hes not as annoying as some other cowardly characters, he's just such a nice kid... I love learning about him as the story goes on. I appreciate how much the team truly cares about him I could cry, like seriously... ;_;

6. Charlotte. OKAY BUT THE BIT OF HER SPRINTING THROUGH THE TOWN TO RUN AWAY FROM HER FEELINGS IS WHAT SOLD ME. But honestly, the second she showed a flustered side I was just like "aww this is it". She's such a cutie, and I'm so glad shes not just the "hates men" type, and is working through that mentality and struggling with a crush. This show always gives the cold types some issues that make them feel more likeable and I love that about it.

7. Luck. Just that pure chaotic personality, but somehow still such a genuinely good boy. I love his relationship with Magna and Asta. After the elf possession thing, he really flew up there in my favorites. Good zappy boy.

8. Vanessa. She seemed like she'd be the least useful and deep character, but she surprised me. She continues to be helpful and wise and just... such good support for the team. I love her more than I ever thought I would. I love how this show surprises me.

9. HAHA! Or wait, was it Sekke?? I think that's his name. Listen, I don't even remember his name, because his running gag is so stupid, it's all I think about. An actual loveable jerk? I liked him right away, he just has such a fun personality and I love his magic. It's pretty cool actually. This poor guy has the worst luck... But when he gets too cocky, they always push him back down to ground level. Love it.

10. Rill. AAAA! Such a cutie!! His magic is SO FREAKING AMAZING. I really related to is art struggles, and that really made me love him more as the series went on. But he was loveable and cute before then too. I love the less serious addition to the magic knights. Good boy. :')

I JUST LOVE THAT THIS SHOW CONTINUES TO WORK ON ITS CHARACTERS. Everyone gets their moment. Everyone grows. Even the jerks. Even the criminals. This show is chock full of surprises, breaks a lot of molds, and manages to do some tropes better than others. Some shows just neglect so many of their side characters and hardly give them any screentime. It's such a shame... That's why this show makes me so happy.

As for ships, I'm still thinking about those, but here's what I'd most likely ship eventually or at least approve of for the most part.

- Asta and Noelle, obviously. Very cute. Just not a huge fan of "hits people when flustered", I'd like her to get over that one day, but... it's a beloved trope in Japan I guess so?? Ehh...

- Yami and Charlotte. Please just let them go out already its killing me- But yeah, it's just so adorable. I mean I see why Yami thinks she hates him, like their group's thing is hating men, or just seeming them as lesser than them. Also I'm glad the whole group isn't really like that, it was nice to know they supported her crush.

- Luck and Magna. Okay, this one hit me hard in their big fight together. I don't know if either of them could manage any sort of romance, but I'd sure as heck like to see them try. XD

2 Weeks ( Prologue )

Summary: the beginning of summertime means the livings easy

“You got your phone? Remember if you don’t like it you can call Happy and he’ll pick you up right away”

You were being bombarded with questions when Tony woke you up, while he attempted to make breakfast, during the elevator ride, and now the lobby.

“Tony! It's just the orientation! I’ll be fine!” you exclaimed stopping in front of him

He shook his head and let out a sigh “They already know your situation. They won’t use Stark they’ll use your actual stupid last name”

You smiled and nodded then followed Happy to the car. Today is the day for Midtown Tech School orientation for the freshmen. Honestly, this wasn’t the school of your choice but, you made a deal with your old man saying that if you finished developing new tech for his suit he would let you go to public school. There were way too many long sleepless nights just to figure out the basics but finally, you learned everything there was to learn about his suit, thanks to FRIDAY, and updated his suit three times.

He looked at you with a little sadness in his eyes and smiled “Get outta here, I’ll see you later” and with that, he turned around leaving you to rush out the building and into the car. 

Eventually, you pulled up in front of the building, watching kids get out of their parent’s car and walking with their friends in the building. Your breath hitched as you grabbed the handle to the car door and opened it. You could hear Happy say what's already been said but at this point, it was just static in the background. You shut the door behind you and rushed inside. Nothing really started until you got there right? Well, it seemed like orientation was already in progress. Groups of teens had started to follow their teacher for the tour, friends were talking to each other as if they just hadn’t seen them a few weeks ago. You felt uncomfortable, you knew you didn’t belong there but it’s what you wanted. Plus, you had to prove Tony wrong because he knows at the end of the day you won’t like Midtown. 

You found your assigned group for the tour but seeing how boring each stop would start to get you wandered off. You toured some of the interesting looking classrooms, the gym, cafeteria. You were started to grow tired of the same colored walls, the same classrooms, and every motivational poster that was plastered everywhere. 

“Uh h-hi? Are you lost?” a brunette nerdy looking boy questioned

You panicked looking back down the hallway you just walked from then back to him nodding.

He just gave you a nervous look with the urge to say something, anything that could kill the awkwardness. 

What the hell 

“My name’s Y/N,” you stuck your hand out “I’m new, d-do you mind showing me around?”

He looked at your hand but took it and oh boy, once he took it, you could feel your heart beating a million miles a minute. Not only that but you knew something was going to happen to this boy. Something he couldn’t come back from.

“P-Peter Parker” he smiled as his cheeks turned a light shade of pink.

You had spent the rest of the orientation with each other. The two of you practically talked each other’s ears off, well more like he talked your ear off but you were happy listening to the pretty boy rant. However, all good things must come to an end.

“So where’s your car?” he asked as the two of you walked out the door.

You did notice your car but you also noticed Happy thus leading your new friendship going downhill from there.

Before peter could anything a car pulled up honking “Peter! Come on!” A pretty woman shouted from the window “Is that a girl? Oh my god! You met a girl!” She continued. Peter’s looked down and back at the woman “I-I- that’s my aunt, um, I better go” he says flustered. “Wait! M-maybe we could hang out during the summer or-or you could show me around” you asked nervously.

To say the least, freshmen year was a breeze.

The food wasn’t all that great, the teachers seemed decent, but having Peter and meeting Ned and MJ made the year unbelievably fun for you.

You were in your final class of the day when you heard the bells of freedom. You gathered your things and waited for Peter outside the room. He jogged up to you finally able to leave this place.

“So....what’re you up to this summer?” He asked as the two of you continued walking

You thought about it for a moment, “Probably nothing, my parents are super busy do to anything anyways. What about you?” You asked bumping his shoulder

He smiled nervously at the gesture and put his hands in his pocket “s-same”

You two walked and made small talk till you reached the parking lot. He looked around for his aunt while you looked around for your dad. You were surprised when you left for school that morning especially when Happy told you that Tony would pick you up.

You spotted the Audi and immediately went into a panic mode. How were you suppose to just tell peter bye and then get into a sports car? Granted, your parents and your house where very mysterious to your little group. You always told them you wouldn’t be able to have a game night at your house or asking for a ride from either Ned or Peter but at a random apartment that was only a few blocks away from the Tower.

You cleared your throat “Well, I see my dad. Maybe we can hang out really s-“ you started but Peter suddenly turned towards you with a nervous look

“I-I really-“ he gulped, then mentally slapped himself and repeated what he’s been saying for six months

“You’ve been meaning to tell her since December so tell her!!”

“I really want to hang out with you too” he awkwardly laughed “my aunt’s here, I’ll see you soon,” he said then quickly made his way to the car

You stood there in confusion until Tony started honking. You sighed and shook your head as you sped to your car.

Peter opened the car door quickly, threw his backpack in the back and shut the door in frustration.

“Ouch,” Ned said from the back shoving Peter’s backpack to the side

“So I’m guessing it didn’t go well?” May asked looking at her poor nephew

“I-I chickened out,” he said softly

“Dude, you’ve been trying to tell her since December! Did you see how disappointed she looked when she got into her car?!” Ned exclaimed “I don’t know if you’re too sad to notice but she just got into a really sick car”

“She was waiting for it, Pete. You gotta shoot your shot.” May said finally taking off

“I know! It’s just, I- it’s her first year and I didn’t want anybody to think she was stuck up or-or I was keeping her from making new friends” Peter explained “besides, who wants a nerd like me”

“Peter, we’re not nerds. We’re just highly knowledgeable of mainstream topics” Ned smiled proudly

“Yeah, highly knowledgeable of legos at 15” Peter mumbled

“So, sweet child of mine, can you describe your first year of school?” Your father asked looking over as you settle in your seat

“It was...interesting,” you say buckling up

He nodded, shifted gears, and peeled out of the parking lot. You were still a bit sad that Peter didn’t ask you anything else. Maybe you were just overthinking it? Maybe you should tell him how you feel? Now you had to deal with your feelings all summer. Alone. Since, your father obviously being Tony Stark, who knew when you would see him. He would either be in his lab or with Pepper. Now your mom, she absolutely tried to make time for you. You girls would at least have a girls' days once a week but after she became CEO it turned into once a month if you were lucky.

“Let’s grab a bite to eat?” Tony asked looking over at you but noticed you were deep in thought.

“We’re moving to South America.”

“What?!” You shouted looking at his smug face

“Gotcha kid” he smiled “what’s on your mind? Is it that boy, uh, Patrick? Paul? The one you were talking to before you left?

“You mean Peter?”

He nodded “your mother said you talked quite a bit about him during your latest shopping trip”

“He’s a really good friend...I guess” you shrugged

Tony’s eyebrow raised “listen here missy, no dating. We already had this agreement with the school-“

“B-but I’m worried about him” you cut him off

Tony looked over at you concern “Why? Does he do drugs? Sell them? Make-“

“I...I had one of my dreams about him and I know it sounds crazy but hear me out!” You pleaded

“Y/N. We’ve talked about this” Tony said in annoyance

“I know! But somethings going to happen to him and-and he’s gonna be different! Not like going through...puberty different” you whispered the last part

“Enough.” Tony demanded, “I don’t know what you kids watch or read nowadays but you better stop because now you’re dreaming about it!”

“Dad! It’s-it’s real!! Remember when you guys first got me, w-we had that huge fight about a dream I had describing your kidnapping” you explained started to become frustrated with him “then when you started creating Ultron!”

Tony continued to drive through traffic in silence.

“You never believe me when it happens and you don’t believe me when it does.” you huffed

“Enough,” Tony said “I don’t know what’s what kind of trend you’re following but it stops now. It’s suppose to be summer and I’m trying to take an easy. Hand over the phone.” Tony said extending his small arm right in front of you making a little grabby motion.

You groaned and slammed the phone into his hand.

For kawasara week 2019, day 1— “You can rely on me.”

Everybody was different, having their own ideals, feelings and strengths. Sarada was a wise girl and she knew many people. Nobody was the same. Every individual was uniquely themself and she understood this. She respected this. Just, some people tugged on her heartstrings more than others. That especially went for her parents. Her team. Her sensei. And now, Kawaki.

For some reason the young Uchiha struggled to understand him more than anyone. From the beginning, she’d had this strange urge to welcome him in, learn about him and be a friend because he needed those. Of course Sarada wasn’t the only one to feel this way, to step up and be a good person for someone who others shunned or didn’t trust.

Kawaki was hotheaded, he could be cold and rude—a downright jerk, but he was actually a good person. Sarada could see that, even on his worst days. She could also see how much he struggled with help. As if he wasn’t used to it, as if he didn’t know how to accept it. For as untrusted as he was, Kawaki didn’t hand out his trust easily either.

There was a fondness she felt for the guy and she often wondered if it was different from what she felt for others. Like Boruto. They were close, she enjoyed watching him grow and seeing him succeed. That was all she wanted for Kawaki, right? It was much the same.

Only, it wasn’t.

It wasn’t until a year had passed since Kawaki started living with the Uzumaki’s that Sarada realized the difference. She was getting older and she was keenly aware of what she was feeling, even if she didn’t want to believe it. Somehow, she’d developed a crush for the guy and it wasn’t just because he was attractive. That was common knowledge and even the girls who thought of him as unapproachable would gush about him at times. With Sarada and her feelings, it was different.

She thought about his strength and determination—how he fought for those he cared about without any reluctance.

She thought about his quiet and simple acts of kindness—how he was quick to help people even without being asked.

She really thought about the time he escorted her to the hospital over a simple, twisted ankle even when she assured him she was fine on her own. There was no forgetting the interrogation she got from her mother after that.

Whether it was understandable or sensible was beside the point. It was an irrefutable fact. Sarada liked Kawaki and she wanted to be close to him, support him and be there for him in any way he needed her. The only problem was, Kawaki never seemed to want her help. It was almost as if the mere thought of it repulsed and offended him. As more time passed, Sarada began to fear that she may never get through to the boy who captured her attention and heart. Then the unexpected happened.

A mission had been given to the two of them alone and while it was as simple as chaperoning a group of first-year academy kids on their first field trip, they were still doing it together. It was as simple as a journey through the forest where the kids were meant to learn more about nature and wildlife. Just something simple to help the children learn and get out of the classroom. The lectures went on even as they trudged through the woods and many of the children were swooning over Kawaki. Sarada couldn’t even blame them, he was really cool.

Striking up a conversation seemed near impossible, at least until the children intervened. They were taking a break by the river, having their lunches in the beautiful outdoors and the day had been a good one. Sarada was content just sitting next to her crush by the riverbank, peeking at him every so often and blushing all over every time he caught her. Then as if to bring an end to her, the question came.

“Is Kawaki your boyfriend?”

Obsidian eyes widened before blinking rapidly, the poor girl’s heart suddenly pounding. Her face flamed and her stomach fluttered, nearly rendering her immobile. However, she was able to flair her arms around in hopes of waving the young girl off.

“W-what? D-don’t be s-silly!” She squeaked and then groaned, palming her face at noticing how much she sounded like her mother.

She had it bad.

Kawaki just took another bite of his riceball, seemingly oblivious to the girl’s humiliation.

“Well,” the little girl sang with a big smile. “Kawaki said you rely on each other. That means he’s your boyfriend.”

That was not what that meant, but Sarada couldn’t correct the child. She was too busy gawking at her crush and trying to figure out when and why he said that. Eventually, she recovered herself, clamped her mouth shut and swallowed hard. With a deep breath, she turned back to the little beaming girl and smiled back at her.

“We’re a team, you have to rely on your teammates.” She explained, having no hard feelings about it.

“He said you’re pretty too, though! You don’t need to keep it a secret!” The little girl huffed, cheeks puffing out in her annoyance.

Sarada choked on the very air she breathed in.

Kawaki said what?!

Turning her head to gaze at her partner in surprise, Sarada help her breath. Surely the child was just making things up now. Even so, how could he just sit there, eating so impassively? Nothing phased him!

Feeling her stare, Kawaki’s eyes cut over to her before he tilted his head in her direction and sighed. “What’s the big deal, you don’t agree?” He rolled his eyes, scoffing the words though there was no malice behind them.

Dainty, capable hands came up to cup her heated cheeks and Sarada feared she may faint on the spot. Her mother seemed to be rubbing off on her.

Kawaki said they relied on each other.

He said she was pretty.

“You… you really think I’m—”

A piece of chocolate was shoved in her mouth to halt her words, Kawaki’s pierced brow twitching as he pulled his hand away and refused to look back at her.

“I knew it.” The little girl giggled before twirling away and it wasn’t only Sarada who was left there with a blush.

As much as the thought of Kawaki seeing her as ‘pretty’ did fluster her, it was the fact that he said they rely on each other that set her heart a flutter. Maybe this whole time, she’d been making progress without even realizing it. A smile found her lips at the thought and she unconsciously leaned a little closer to her crush, basking in his warmth and protective aura.

after that would come give siblings, and it fell upon sunny to take care of all of them, so from a young age she acted extremely mature, learned to fend for herself, and still managed to have a soul flourishing with tender spots

sunny was a gifted kid, not academically, she struggled A LOT, she had trouble paying attention, couldn’t read as well as the other kids. she got teased a lot for being ‘dumb’ and honestly hated it, it’s one of her biggest insecurities to this day. but what she lacked academically she made up for artistically, she was musically inclined, and it was clear that she loved to draw (apparent from all the doodles in the margins of her notebooks)

her family capitalized on this as if she were some sideshow attraction, come see our daughter! look how good she is at painting and doodling! pay us money! and although it made her feel like some trophy the could polish and show off, and this messed up sunshine even more because she knew deep down they didn’t love her

in high school she was the bubbly ditzy popular girl, chewed on enough bubblegum to finance a new mercedes, and just was that stereotypical girl ripped straight out of an early 00′s movie

was on the cheerleading team because again i tell you she was just living her best teen life! having an amazing time! vibing!

although her parents could give her anything they wanted and were decent enough to pay the bills for her and her siblings, she wanted to provide for herself, not have to depend on her parents for anything

she got into modeling! and although t took her a while to find her footing eventually she did, and it was a great time! but eventually parents got jealous and made her quit modeling altogether, because god forbid that she get more attention than they did

eventually (and to everyone’s surprise lmao) she went to college, and somehow got accepted into an ivy league....for art! not as surprising, but her family lied and said she went to business school bc of course they did

she went to harvard and majored in visual arts, she got her degree, and got her her happy ass out of there, mostly stayed focused on her studies, occasional party here and there

she was extremely worried about her siblings and she immediately went back home to them, surprisingly they were in one piece, not surprisingly they were being raised by nannies

she applied her visual arts degree and started designing clothes, then modeling said clothes, because although her parents had enough money to get her company off the ground, she wanted to do it by herself

and she did! finally bringing a decent name to the carmichael family!

I love your showdown bandit headcanons! They are so cute and heart warming. Question: what about Showdown Bandit’s relationship with the other characters how does he get along with them and vice versa with how the other characters get along with him.

Ohohoho, I have been waiting all week to get to this one! Have I got some tales for you!

(Keep in mind that a lot of these headcanon asks connect to each other, but I will make sure to write them in a way that they can standalone as well!)

The Undertaker and Bandit: Rough and Tumble™️

The Undertaker was always something of an enigma to the people of Showdown Valley, but none could describe the true shock they felt when they saw her come into town one day with the Bandit by her side. He was excitedly running circles around her as she trudged along, softly murmuring orders to him.

“Bandit quit runnin’, you’re kickin’ up dust. Bandit don’t bother Penny none while we’re at the general store. Bandit if that yellow-bellied sheriff gives you any trouble you come to me now, ya hear?”

And since that day, the townspeople would witness that strange sight whenever the Undertaker came into town to run some errands. 

In general, Bandit and the Undertaker got along pretty well, even if Bandit’s overexcitable nature didn’t mesh well with Lorelei’s more stoic personality. Oftentimes Lorelei would act as his caretaker, as she would step in to save him during an adventure gone wrong, or offer him a place to stay at her cabin in the graveyard. Of course, Bandit would only stay once or twice a week, because the only type of bedding that she had were coffins.

Bandit: “…why do ya have a child-sized coffin in here?”

Lorelei: “Aw don’t worry Bandit, we’ll get ya a bigger coffin once ya hit you’re growth spurt!”

Bandit, with growing concern: “…that’s not what I meant!”

Other times the Undertaker would be quite disciplinary with Bandit. Whenever he was being chased down by the sheriff for his latest petty thievery the Undertaker would step in and put both of them in a headlock and proceed to lecture him. Usually she would go on for so long that she would forget that the Sheriff was still trapped within her grip. Other times she would drag Bandit into town and make him apologize to the locals for whatever trouble he caused. 

But at the end of it all, after he had learned his lesson, she would bring him back home, warm some soup by the fire, and tell him the deadman’s tales he had come to love so much. It always cheered him up, and to her, that’s what mattered most.

Penny and Bandit: That One Friend Who Won’t Stop Asking About Your Sister™️

One tradition that Penny likes to have in her shop is that if someone arrives in the morning before it opens, she’ll invite them in for breakfast. Granted, as her time went on in Showdown Valley, less and less people would join her, as their schedules became all the more time-consuming. However, Bandit made sure to arrive each week, so that she wouldn’t be lonely.

The two of them would often swap stories, as Bandit would recount tales from his latest adventures and Penny would tell him of her life on the farm before Showdown Valley. Sometimes she would even teach him a few new tricks, like how to play the banjo or how to skin an araknit. And at the end of their morning chat, Penny would set up shop, and Bandit would stick around to help. In exchange she would give him a few dollars and slice of apple pie to send him on his way.

On a particularly mundane day Bandit came in with the Undertaker behind him, as he excitedly ushered her to the counter, and insisted that she try a slice of Penny’s famous apple pie. Needless to say, this encounter proved to be quite transcendent for Penny, given her deep-rooted affection for the Undertaker, and she could barely compose herself during their visit, as she awkwardly bumbled about the shop, and fanned herself to survive the flush across her face. From there after, the object of her affections quickly became a common discussion topic at breakfast.

Penny, as she pours some apple juice for Bandit: “So Bandit, how ya been? How’s the thievin’ going? How’s uh…how’s Lorelei? …She spoken for yet..?”

Bandit, who’s just trying to eat in peace: “She spends all day covered in dirt an’ sweat, ya really think somebody’s gonna come along an’ ask her to go out dancin’?”

Penny, eyes fully dilated: “Tell me more.”

Needless to say, the day eventually came when Bandit completely caved in. From then on he acted as Penny’s wingman and did everything he could to help the quirky redhead win over the Undertaker, if only so he wouldn’t have to listen to her ramble on about her infatuations.

Doc Carver and Bandit: Friendly Neighborhood Doctor Turns Out to be Every Kid’s Waking Nightmare™️

The Doctor was always something of an odd man, socially speaking. Despite his foreboding figure, baritone voice, and disturbing fascination with the inner workings of human anatomy, he was a surprisingly sociable man. 

The trouble was, he never seemed to know how to go about it, and oftentimes terrified those around him. This was especially true for Bandit.

Whenever the young thief came into his office for medical attention after his latest scrape-up, he would experience new-found terror at the Doctor’s poor attempts at being sociable.

The Doctor, as he tries to strike up some conversation: “Bandit…did you know that a fatal strike to the C2 spinal vertebrae could paralyze someone for life..? I thought that was interesting.”

Bandit, as he tries to escape out the office window: “U-uh-huh, sounds great D-doc. You k-keep doing you, ya crazy b-bastard…”

The Doctor would remain oblivious to Bandit’s timidity towards him, and in the end perhaps it was for the best. He always had a fondness for Bandit and often regarded him as if he were his own son. Whenever he came into the office with tattered clothing he would sew some new ones and give them to him during his next visit (hence the unlock-able costumes in-game), and he always made sure to remember him during birthdays and holidays as well. 

In time, Bandit learned to warm up to him. Somewhat.

Banker and Bandit: Unlikely Friendship Leads to an Explosive Outcome™️

Sometimes as he wandered into town, Bandit would witness a rather unusual sight. He would see the Banker, timidly clutching a parasol and hiding beneath the shadows of Doc Carver’s front porch. In front of him, bathed in sunlight, Penny and the Doctor stood with their hands outstretched, as they tried to coax him beyond the front porch steps.

Bandit quickly learned that this peculiar trio would meet once a week for tea, and at the end of each session they would try and tackle the Banker’s crippling fear of the sun. And upon learning this, Bandit decided to step in and help, believing that all the Banker needed was a little push! However, in his overzealousness, Bandit ended up putting the Banker in a state of tremendous anxiety, and rendered the weak-hearted man trembling and teary eyed.

Later that evening, Bandit appeared at the Banker’s home to check in on him and apologize. The Banker, while still slightly shaken up from the events prior, was quick to forgive, as he knew Bandit was just a child. What surprised him however, was when Bandit placed a parcel wrapped in brown paper packaging in his hands.

Banker: “W-What’s this?”

Bandit: “Well I was talkin’ to Doc Carver an’ he told me about your heli…hellio…-”

Banker: “Heliophobia.”

Bandit: “Yeah that. An’ he told about how ya like to read a lot in you’re spare time an’ learn about stuff. So I gotcha this book…I hope ya like it.”

The Banker peeled back the packaging paper to reveal a book titled “Dynamite Can Be Fun: An Extensive Guide to Pyrotechnics.” Needless to say, the book was a clear reflection of Bandit; only he could pick out a title like that and think it would make a good gift. But the Banker truly loved the gesture, and every time he came across the gift it put a smile on his face.

A week later, the Banker came bounding up to the Undertaker’s cabin in the middle of the night, and whispered through the window.

Banker: “Psst! Bandit! C-come here, I got to show y-you something!”

Bandit groggily  followed him to the canyon, where the Banker gestured towards a box full of dynamite, cackling with maniacal glee.

Banker: “I read through that b-book you gave me! I learned how to do it! I learned how to make d-dynamite! Oh Bandit the explosions are simply thrilling! You have to t-try it!”

The Banker excitedly lit a stick of dynamite and handed it to Bandit, as he gestured for him to throw it into the canyon. Bandit grew a mischievous grin, and as he felt the first hot blast of nitroglycerin explode in the canyon below, and the boy joined the Banker in his crazed laughter. Before long, the two of them were hooting and hollering, as they continually threw bombs and explosives down below. 

Hearing the explosions, Lorelei, Penny, and Doc Carver came rushing out to the canyon in their pajamas, thinking that the two boys were in trouble. But as they gazed at the sight before them, they truly thought they were in a fever dream.

Billy learning how to do cute hairstyles for el

LOVE IT you fuckin’ bet Billy would do this for El and my heart is bursting over it.

Okay, so i totally think Billy would also have helped Max w/ her hair when they were growing up and she was learning how to skate (i also totally like to think he taught her how to skate) Billy would be like: “You gotta get your hair out of your face, moron.”

“Fine.” and she pushes it behind her ears but the poor sweet dear has never been good at tying her hair up bc her hand gets caught in it and so Billy goes rummaging through the little drawer in their bathroom where Susan keeps a bunch of hair ties for Max that she never touches and just says: “C’mere, shitbird.”

And then he ties her hair up into a ponytail and says: “C’mon, let’s go. Grab your board.”

And I just SO believe Billy did Max’s hair a lot. Like, Max herself in S2 says that Billy was always kind of a dick but he just got bad when they moved away, so I like to think that her and Billy were bitchy w/ each other but still close. (also i haven’t read Runaway Max so sorry if this is kind of inaccurate in regards to that, woops! ♥) and so i like to think Billy just let her rely on him to do her hair. Like he’d throw it up in a ponytail or a couple of braids or whatever in the summer. He’d put it up in a bun for when she’d try to help him cook dinner for themselves when their parents left for the weekend. Just Billy doing Max’s hair bc Max was never really taught. and Billy just did it for her bc it was easier than sitting her down and teaching her.

(then of course when things go bad leading up to the move and after the move, Billy would bark at her to do it herself so she struggled to learn and then eventually did by S3)(we don’t have to talk about this right now though cuz I’m Sad)

So ANYWAY bc of that (and his own hair)(i don’t have any links but there are a lot of good posts talking about Billy’s hair in clips and scrunchies and stuff and i cry at the thought), Billy knows how to do hair! And so when El cycles through the like, 3 hairstyles she has (half up half down in a scrunchie, parted to the side, and parted down the middle w/ her hair behind her ears) Billy notices. And when they’re sitting around watching TV or whatever and El is playing w/ Billy’s hair (bc she likes to do that, she thinks his hair is pretty) Billy asks: “Want me to do your hair, short stuff?”

And El will sit on the ground and Billy will sit on the couch and he’ll brush her hair out and think about what he can do. Bc her hair is a LOT shorter than Max’s ever was so there’s not a lot of braiding options here. But Billy will twist her hair back and put a little pin in it and pull a couple of little delicate strands out and just kind of smile as she admires it in the mirror.

And so he starts doing her hair more often. He’s so much calmer now in his new home and has (a bit) more patience so he’ll just sit and do El’s hair. When they’re sitting around the house and listening to music he’ll do a few tiny braids just because. He teaches her how to braid on his own hair. He throws her hair up into two little buns before she goes to hang out with her friends.

“Like the space princess.” El says.

Billy chuckles.

“Yeah kinda.” he says and pokes her forehead.

And then one day, when Max is over to hang out with El, they put on the ABBA record that they know Billy loves (bc Billy LOVES the album Arrival. he just does and i have lots of thoughts on it) and the girls laugh and sing along to the little whispery parts of “Knowing Me Knowing You” as they make fun of him and make silly faces. And Billy is amused but plays it off as irritated and he’ll pick El up from behind and twirl her around and take her back to her room to “kidnap” her and says Max has to “save her” as El kicks and squeals.

but it really just ends up being Max barging into the room to find El brushing out Billy’s hair, still singing along to the song while Billy is sitting there grumbling a little bc “I wasn’t supposed to be the prisoner here…”

Then he sees Max, who looks confused, her face a little fallen bc Billy hasn’t done her hair for her since they were back in California.

And Billy sees the look on her face. Dejected and a little angry. And he pats the space on the bed in front of him and says: “C’mere, shitbird. Want me to braid your hair for you?”

And Max will never admit it, but her heart leaps bc she’s kind of… she’s kind of getting her brother back.

And so Max sits there and gets her hair braided and Billy lets El do his hair and he’s singing quietly along to the song before he starts talking to them about boys. Bc he knows Max has been having trouble with Lucas saying stupid things and Mike was a jerk to El a couple days ago and said she was “too emotional” (it took everything in Billy’s power not to go find him and set him straight bc Mike is the most emotional kid Billy’s ever met)

So Billy’s just like: “Y’know, you guys don’t have to be with boys if they’re being irritating. Life is too short to be with assholes.”

And Max just kinda grumbles bc yeah, Billy might be right, and maybe Lucas is a little dumb sometimes, but she likes him and he’s not an asshole.

“Then why does Steve still hang around with you?” Max asks.

Billy pulls a strand of Max’s hair out.

“Shut up, jerk, I’m getting better.”

So YES Billy doing BOTH of their hair whenever Max is around. And doing cute hairstyles on El like a high pony or little braids to pull it out of her face or a twisted ponytail. But also giving her kind of funny hairstyles, like one night when he gels it up into a mohawk with a laugh.

El eyes it curiously.

“Does it look good?” she asks.

Billy chuckles. “Killer.”

And that night Hop comes home to Billy and El rocking out to Shout at the Devil on full volume, and sees his little daughter w/ her hair gelled up into a mohawk.

ENVAH:

SO she’s Almalexia’s daughter and she has a great deal of influence in post-Accession War Mournhold (i really gotta flesh this out more) and could have a very legitimate claim to the throne if she wanted.  She has some uh, identity issues, she grew up very much in the public eye and she’s never gotten to live without the context/influence/im not coming up w the word of her parents :(

heres some fun facts abt her

-she is occasionally mistaken for almalexia, CAN and WILL impersonate her on the behalf of poor confused pilgrims.  a saint in her own right.

-she does eventually abandon her House responsibilities to go find some sort of identity that is her own

-she is closer with savet, she and aril have a tendency to butt heads over little matters.  usually savet has to mediate

-she holds hopesfire, wouldn’t give it up for anything.  she stole it from the mournhold museum at the start of the argonian invasions

-she calls savet Seht and dont read into that too much.  its fine.

-cant stress enough how much she loves hosting parties, she just loves showing off Mournhold and her planning skills.  very detail-oriented

My Strongest Character....... she joined the Thieves Guild with her brother when she was 10 and trained under Brynjolf for several years.  At 21, she received an offer to join the Dark Brotherhood and she accepted, all but disappearing entirely from the Thieves Guild and leaving her elder brother Vaeren in the dark.  She has a notable connection to her ancestors and ghosts, even for a Dunmer, and she believes this is what leads to her being chosen as Listener

-shes trans!!

-HATES cicero, she thinks that he’s annoying and she doesn’t trust him a bit.  also he’s short and she could absolutely throw him

-she grew up in Riften but she’s always been rlly curious about Morrowind!  when she was a kid she hoarded all the books she could find that were either about or took place in Morrowind, her faves were Three Thieves and the Biography of Barenziah

-Bio of Barenziah was very inspiring to her.  she only had the first one, i think, about her growing up in Rifton and being taken back to Morrowind as the heiress.  as a kid she dreamed this would also happen to her :(

-she marries yngvar the singer and he writes a new poem about her every day

-she keeps to herself, but she’s naturally inquisitive.  she benefited hugely from having a mentor, wishes that she could find another situation where she can just learn w someone one-on-one

-she does Not initially tell the truth to vaeren about where she’s been the last 11 years and im not sure she ever will.  she is happy to find him again, though, and cosnach LOVES her
