Wanda got hit y’all 🥲 A girl didn’t see a stop sign and her car threw mine into several parked cars. Juni was with me. Everyone involved is okay! There was a girl in the first parked car, too. Juni was seatbelted and seems unphased. The other cars didn’t have their drivers in them. Wanda is a little worse off than the photos show; not driveable, but I think it should be fixable? We’ll see. I feel bizarrely unphased.
Oh! This is my first ever car accident, I’ve never even been a passenger in one. Made it to 31! Pretty good lol.
#the girl was very sorry#I made sure she knew it was okay and I wasn’t mad#she was young#pink hair#I wish I had a photo of her car#her air bags came out and stuff and her wrist got messed up but she was otherwise okay#she admitted it was her fault and the cops agreed and stuff#so I’m not worried#Juni was just happy to be making so many friends lol#she comforted the girl in the first parked car cos she was crying cos she got scared (valid) which was sweet#I think we were going like 35 mph idk

Another Ch 8 snippet
It's my birthday, i do what I want, so have another section of chapter 8 cuz this one's a bit beefy:
“What in Azil’s shell is this?”
Neither brother knew what they were looking at for a moment aside from massively overgrown shrubs and climbers that had won the battle against whatever was underneath them, the clearing full to bursting with foliage and creeping vines twisting in and out of tree branches and structures of metal and rope that must have served a purpose before the plant Armageddon arrived. Jenn herself seemed perturbed as they arrived at the edge of the leafy wall after a few minutes of trekking through the forest at her behest, one hand rubbing the back of her head confusedly. “Well, it was my training course,” she answered after a moment, Moon feeling more confused than before. “I knew I forgot something when I got home.”
“Training course?” the navy bot inquired. Beside him, Sun kne;t down and grabbed a leaf from the dense cloud of green wrapping around their feet, giving it a gentle squeeze and finding it plush and bouncy.
“Uh, yeah.” Even the human found her words hard to believe for a moment.
“Training for what?”
Casting a glance at the nosey blue robot, Jenn raised a brow. “Well, unlike you I have to actually maintain my fitness levels.” Moon’s eyes glinted brightly at her sarcasm. “Don’t let the overgrowth fool you,” she added on, kneeling next to Sun and pulling a coil of greenery out of the ground with little resistance. “Trusslin is a very fast growing plant, leave it be long enough and it’ll overtake an area in a matter of weeks. I must have forgotten to come trim it back.”
“It’s soft,” Sun commented, adding the data to his collection of plants.
“Ain’t it?” she mused, grabbing another handful.
“Why not just get rid of it?” Moon wondered, tilting his head while studying one of the overgrown structures.
“Cuz it happens that a carpet of trusslin is really great for breaking falls,” Jenn replied, standing up and pressing a leaf against Moon’s face, causing him to lean away. The leaf dropped onto his shoulder, causing him to pick it up and pause, rubbing it between his fingers; the leaves were velvety and gave way slightly, as if they were little pillows of air that had deflated just a tad. “It’s not gonna stop you from eating shekt if you fall from too high, but I’ve avoided quite a few broken bones because of this stuff. Grows like crazy if it’s light enough and forms natural curls in the stems that tangle together like a net. Just, uh…” She waved her hand over the mess. “Gotta keep up on pruning.”
Taking the leaf from Moon, who was done playing with the plant scrap, Sun squished it between his fingers, trying to contain a giggle. “What do you do with the trimmings?” he wondered, lifting the leaf toward his brother’s face, causing him to lean away slightly.
“Uh…” Thinking for a moment, Jenn counted with her fingers. “Compost, fodder, mulch… there’s no nutritional value unfortunately, and it doesn’t taste like anything, but you can dry them and they stay puffy and soft so I like to use the unbroken ones as scrub pads sometimes, otherwise they’re great padding for pillows and stuff.”
Grabbing Sun’s wrist and shooting him a glare when the leaf returned to his personal bubble, Moon snatched it from his brother’s grasp and dropped it out of reach; Sun only grinned mischievously back at him. “So I’m guessing if we want to use this stuff, we need to cull the overgrowth?” he asked as his other hand moved to stop Sun from putting a vine on his head.
“Unfortunately,” Jenn sighed, turning to face them. “I’ll get a bag and my trimmers and be right back.”
She’d barely left their line of sight before something soft came into swift contact with Moon’s temple–or it tried to at least, before he’d snatched it mid-arc, incidentally crushing the object in his hand. Wet grass wasn’t his favorite scent, but that was far less important than the sound of Sun’s amused snickering. “Quit it,” the darker bot warned, catching the quick motion of Sun plucking another leaf from the overgrowth. “What’re you doing?”
In response, Sun tossed the leaf at his face, causing him to swat it away.
“Sun!” Moon took a step toward his brother, intending to stop him from grabbing anything else to mess with.
Pftb.
They both paused, looking down. Moon lifted his foot, revealing a crushed trusslin leaf that had all of the air force out of it suddenly.
Sun choked back a snicker, chest quivering.
Moon bit the inside of his lip to keep back a laugh of his own, how voice warbling as he tried to keep it in. “Sun–Sun that’s not–” A grinding, throaty sound from the golden bot got him to cough a bit, both of them struggling to not laugh at the absurd noise. “Shut up, that–mkh–that wasn’t funny.”
“Yes it was.” Sun’s voice was barely a squeak.
Cheek aching from trying to fight the urge to smile, Moon had to turn away, losing the battle slowly against his own poor humor. “We really are children.”
Doubled over, Sun nodded, trying his best to calm himself down. A thick, fuzzy leaf bobbed in front of him as he exhaled; teal eyes flicked to Moon for a moment, then back to the leaf.
Moon saw the glance. “Do not.”
Sun reached for the leaf slowly, now holding Moon’s gaze with his mouth pressed thin with guilty pleasure.
“Sunrise.”
In a flash, Sun grabbed the leaf and pulled, twisting upright–
–Moon darted, trying to rip the leaf away before anything could be done with it.

sbi x reader part nine
The game night had kicked off what seemed like one of the best weeks of my life. The next day, I aced both tests I had. I made it home and to my room safely, my parents had decided to stay out for the night. School went well, barely any homework. Techno stopped to check in as the Blade once, Phil texted a few times, and I was actually happy. No new bruises for a record amount of time.
I was stupid to believe that things were changing.
Talking to Tommy, I realized that I was only a year ahead of him in school. He was struggling with chemistry, which happened to be the subject I did best in the year before. I had offered to help him.
The first thing that happened was the knock on the door. We never have visitors. My parents don't knock, it's their house. I peeked through the window, throwing the door open when I saw Tommy. I glanced around before pulling him inside, closing the door.
"What are you doing here?" I was trying to hide the panic in my voice.
"You said you would help me in chemistry!"
"Not now! Not here!"
"I'm already here, why not? I don't want to leave. I want to hang out with you. "
"Tommy, I promise we can meet up another time, but right now you have to leave. I'm so sorry, I'll make it up to you, I swear. I can come over later tonight if you want?"
He pouted. " I'm busy later. And I have a test tomorrow I need help preparing for. "
"I'm so sorry Toms, but this is a really bad time. My parents will be home any minute, and they don't like it when I have friends over."
" So, you admit that we're friends? I am now legally friends with a woman everyone! Suck it, Wilbur! " His voice rose, shouting the last part.
"Shhh, Tommy, please, you need to-" the sound of a car in the driveway cut me off. "Come with me, now!" I grabbed his wrist, pulling him to my bedroom. "I'm going downstairs. Climb out the window, down the rose trellis. Go out through the back gate. Don't be seen, please."
Tommy nods, quiet. "Thank you," I say. "I'll be okay."
Tommy crawls out the window as I walk down into the lions den, hearing the front door open.
---
Tommy slides into the front as Techno picks him up. He's unusually quiet.
"What happened?" Techno asks.
"Her parents came home. I got out without them noticing though. Probably would have been worse for her if they saw me."
"It definitely would have been. Why did you go?"
"I needed help with chemistry, she had said she would help me. I have a test tomorrow, and we have Syndicate stuff tonight."
"I did well in chemistry," Techno responded. Show me your homework, I can try to help."
Tommy froze. "Techno."
"Huh?"
"I messed up. "
---
"Hello, princess." I could hear the venom in his voice. Something was wrong. Why was he calling me princess? That was only used when things were about to get bad.
"Your little friend still here? Or did he leave yet?" Oh no. Oh no oh no ohno ohnoohnoohno. She knew. They knew. How did they know?
"H-how-?" I can barely choke out the question .
"I've never seen this before." She comes into view with a red backpack, a Minecraft cow on it. Tommy's bag. Shit.
"He just showed up, came in. I told him to get out, he didn't listen! I was going to help him with homework sometime, he thought I meant here. I swear, it was an accident!"
"Is he still here?"
"No."
"Good. There's nobody to see me do this then."
The bag swings, making contact with my head. Jesus, what does that kid carry? There's definitely a computer in there, but there has to be rocks or something, because no way homework is that heavy. I'm left reeling from the hit, stumbling backwards. A whine involuntarily leaves my lips.
"Shut it, freak. No noises, you know this." Apparently he's joining too, wants to be a part of the fight. He lifts me by my throat, holding me in the air before dropping me. Ow. I'm gasping, that really hurt.
"Room. Now. " I stumble to my room, something feels wrong. It should be worse. It's never this easy.
I open my phone to multiple messages from the Crafts. I start with Tommy.
T: Hey I forgot my bag at ur place
T: Idk if it's too late tho
T: I'm so sorry
I message back.
O: hey toms, I'm really sorry but I think ur computer might be broken. I can try and help u get a new one, but I don't think it old one has much hope. I'll try and see what I can back for u tho. I'm so so sorry. :(
Next, messages from Techno.
T: are u ok?
T: Tommy told me what happened
O: I'll live. Nothing too bad, just a couple whacks here and there.
Finally, from Phil.
P: heard what happened. Please call if it's too bad
P: if we don't hear from you soon, we're gonna come check on u, please let us know if ok.
O: I'm ok :)
I roll into bed early, hoping that sleep would help.
---
I am awoken to pain. It all hurts. Everything. What is happening? I'm gasping, I can't breathe, I don't know what's going on. I can't see. It's only pain. It's dark. I cry out for help, feeling the pain worsen. It's focused on my leg now. I scream, feeling a harsh slap in return. Am I gonna die? Who's in my room? What is going on?
I gasp, and I'm blinded. Suddenly there's light. Too much. It hurts. I can't breathe. What time is? My eyes adjust, and the fear I felt before shoots up exponentially. He's in my room. Is this a dream? A knife. I look at my leg. My god. There's a knife in my leg. I'm gonna die. He grins. He's sick. I'm pushed to the floor. I can't breathe. Every time I try, a kick forces the air from my lungs.
I am going to die. There is a knife in me. I can't breathe. I am going to die.
He leaves. I have to get to my phone. It's the most important thing in the world. It's my lifeline. It can help me. I reach it, hitting call on the contact that promises me help. I silently beg that he'll pick up. It's 2:38 AM. Please, let him pick up. It's so hard to breathe. The red is everywhere. They said don't pull a knife out, it stops the blood, but there's too much blood. It's everywhere.
I am going to die. Tommy will fail his chemistry test. Surely, that's not my fault though. Right? Will they be angry if I die? Will they hate me? Will they cry? My parents won't, but I want to have meant something to someone. Is it selfish to want them to cry if I die?
"Hello? Olivia? Are you alright?"
"You picked up!"
"Yeah mate, of course, what's wrong?"
"I think I'm going to die."

Firefly Chapter Twenty-Nine
2023
7:30 PM
After the decision was made that we would stay for the night Ellie begged Joel to take her to look around after she ran back inside. "Take her to check all Bill's traps. Make sure they're still intact and while you do that I'll find something to make us for dinner." He sighed and looked at Ellie before looking at me, "we should pack the truck up," he said. Ellie rolled her eyes, head leaning back as she let out a groan. "We can do that after! Come on, let's go!" She grabbed his wrist and pulled him out the door.
I stood there for a little while looking into the dining room. The table was covered in dust just like everything else along with their last meal. I took a deep breath and got to work clearing it off. Frank hated having the house a mess. Of course the dust would just come back but it doesn't hurt to clean everything up before we leave. Maybe I can convince Joel to help cover the furniture in sheets. Who knows maybe we could come back here one day.
After I had everything cleaned up I dug around and found something to make for dinner. It wasn't too hard, Bill was always prepared. Hell, the man was a prepper before all this shit even happened. He had a plan already thought up and then when shit went down he put that plan into action. He was smart for isolating himself from people and not going with the military when they came here. I could not see Bill in the QZ zone.
After Joel and Ellie came back she ran up to me slightly out of breath and talked a mile a minute about Bill's insane traps. I could hear Joel's heavy sigh and his boots walking closer to where we were in the kitchen. "Thought I told you to stay with me." Ellie rolled her eyes, waving him off, and continued on her excited rant about how Bill was a crazy old man. "You're right! He was just like Joel! Maybe a little more paranoid but holy shit!"
After we ate dinner Ellie wanted to go outside again. "It's getting dark," I told her. "Please please please!" I held a hand up to stop her, "Fine. But…we aren't going too far!" The sun was almost completely gone now. "So, you and Joel made up?" I looked over at Ellie and shrugged. "Kind of, I guess. I mean there is still a lot to talk about. Not everything can be fixed overnight."
"What did he do that made you leave?" I stopped walking and turned to her. "Look, Joel…Joel is very protective of those he cares about. And with me and him being…in a relationship I became his biggest weakness. And that meant he was over protective of me. We had a fight and things were said. And instead of sticking around to talk it out after we both cooled down, I ran."
"What kinds of things?" She asked. I took a breath and we continued walking. "Hurtful things. Things that take time to get over."
When we got back to the house Joel was in the garage that sat beside the house. He was packing the truck up with anything we would need. Food, clothes, camping stuff like sleeping bags and a portable stove. "We should be getting to bed. I want to leave at dawn." Ellie groaned, "that's so early!" She stalked across the yard, grumbling about how Joel was a grumpy old man.
"You've been a real help in reminding me why I never had kids!" I called after her. She put her thumbs up in the air, turning to walk backwards. "Glad I could be helpful!" She gave me a sarcastic smile, flipped me off and slammed the door. "Okay," I whispered, sighing and shaking my head.
"I thought you used to always want kids." I turned my head to look at Joel, who avoided any and all eye contact. "Yeah, back when the world wasn't overrun by some parasite that makes people raging lunatics. Back when I was still young and still held onto those silly little dreams even in a world like this. But those dreams faded and reality set in."
I looked down to see him clenching his fists then looked up to his jaw, which was also clenched. I raised an eyebrow, "you have something to say? Or maybe ask?" He didn't say anything for a few minutes and I began to think he never was. "You…uh…did you…were you seeing someone?" My eyebrows shot up at Joel stumbling over his words and trying not to let his anger get the best of him.
"Are you asking if I fucked other men in the ten years we were together?" His jaw ticked as his dark eyes bored into my soul. "What if I did? You going to go find each and everyone of them and kill them?" He took slow, heavy steps towards me. "That depends." He was standing in front of me now and all I could do was smirk.
"No, Joel. There hasn't been anyone else. If I need that kind of release I just did it myself. Even though it was never good enough. You ruined me for anyone else. Nobody would have been good enough. I would have never been happy." I leaned up and pressed my lips to his. "Now, let's go to bed. We gotta get up at dawn!"
5:00 AM
"She isn't going to like you waking her up." Joel ignored me and walked to the room that Ellie had stayed in last night. I didn't get much sleep last night. All I could think about was that Bill and Frank's corpses were right down the hall. Joel fell asleep pretty quickly with how exhausted he was but he never fell into a deep sleep.
He hasn't fallen into a deep sleep since before Cordyceps. He used to have to be yelled at and have his bedroom door pounded on just for him to wake up to hear his alarm go off. Now, he sleeps but it's a light sleep. Every time I moved his eyes would crack open and then he finally pulled me into him until I eventually fell asleep. That was only four hours ago.
The sun wasn't even up yet, it was still dark. We still had an hour until dawn, but Joel wanted to get out of here and on the road. While he went to wake Ellie I headed downstairs and grabbed something that we could quickly eat. "What the fuck! It's still dark out!" Ellie yelled. "Get your ass up!" I heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs and Joel appeared in the dining room. "I'm done with her!" He stormed out the door, slamming it as he went.
Once Ellie and I ate we headed out to the truck where Joel was giving everything a once over. We had a couple cans of gas in the bed of the truck with everything else so we would be good for a while. As soon as Ellie got in the truck she started opening and closing compartments, pulling down the visor and looking around. "Move it," Joel told her, thumb hitching over his shoulder to the back seat.
She clambered into the back seat and started looking around. Joel got in the driver's seat, and I climbed into the passenger seat. "It's like a rocketship!" Joel sighed, but there was a hint of a smile on his face. "Never been in a car?" I asked, and she shook her head. Joel turned the keys in the ignition and started the truck, pulled out of the garage, pulled up to the gate, and I got out to open it. Once he pulled through, I made sure the fate was closed before climbing back in the truck, and we started our journey.

apologies - rafe cameron
You stop pacing Rafe's bedroom to check your phone once again. The time keeps ticking by, and Rafe keeps not calling you back. He was supposed to be home hours ago; the two of you had plans to go out to the dock and eat dinner, hanging out and watching the sky. He had told you to be at his house at eight. It's now nearing midnight, and you haven't heard a peep. You pick up your phone to dial him again just as his door knob turns and Rafe slowly peaks his head in the room.
When he brings his eyes up to yours, he smiles quickly and sweetly, knowing he's in trouble but trying to soften to you up. You throw your phone back down on his bed and turn around, setting your hands on your hips and taking a deep breath. At least he's fine.
"Hey, baby," Rafe speaks, his voice sickeningly sweet.
You turn back around and watch as he carefully enters the room and closes the door, putting his back up against it. It's like he's trying to take up as little room as possible.
"Well, now that I know you're alive, I'm just gonna go home," you sigh, picking up your phone once again from the bed. Rafe takes a step forward, then another, then sets his hands on your arms to try and stop you from moving.
"No, baby, please don't leave," he says. Your eyes flicker up to his, and you instantly notice how bloodshot they are. You take another deep breath and close your eyes, ready to ask him the question you know you don't want the answer to.
"Rafe," you start, your voice calm, "Please tell me you are not high right now."
"I'm not high right now," Rafe says too fast. You look up at him again and can tell instantly that he's lying.
"Are you fucking kidding me, Rafe?" you raise your voice, squirming from his grip, "You're almost four hours late, you come back high, and then you lie about it?"
"Don't fucking yell at me, all right?" Rafe says, even though he raises his voice at you in return.
You roll your eyes and start grabbing your stuff, shoving it into your bag. You just want to go home and not deal with all of this right now.
"Where are you gonna go?" he asks you, his voice thick and accusing.
"Home," you mutter. Rafe scoffs, earning your attention.
"It's midnight and raining out. Just fucking sleep here and we'll work it out in the morning."
You roll your eyes at him and continue stuffing shit into the bag. Rafe comes over and grabs onto your wrists, stopping you from packing.
"Baby," he says, his voice softer, "Just chill for a second so I can explain, okay?"
You shrug and nod, telling him silently to go ahead and try to explain himself. He swallows before he speaks, so you know this will be good.
"Okay, well, I was out, y'know, with Topper and Kelce, right? We were at the Club. And Barry came by and started saying some shit to me and it just turned into a mess, okay? I had to handle shit with my sister and her dumbass friends and Topper's all pissed off because she's with John B now-"
"Rafe," you stop him, "I'm missing the part where you forgot to call for four hours and then got high."
He stares down at you, looking almost blindsided by the fact that you're asking him that, then nods his head.
"Okay, yeah," he says, more to himself than to you, "I uh, I lost my phone for a bit."
"You lost your phone for a bit?" you repeat, "Like, it died?"
Rafe considers that for a moment, then ultimately shakes his head.
"No, I just lost it at the Club."
You laugh and nod your head, finally understanding, "Oh, so you were too coked out to keep track of your shit? Nice, Rafe. I'm really glad you felt the need to get high out of your mind before you spend the night with me. That makes me feel really good."
You side-step him and continue to collect your things while Rafe throws his hands up in the air out of frustration.
"Jesus, that's not what it's about," he groans, "Barry showing up just threw me off and it fucking stressed me out-"
"You don't have to do coke every time you get stressed out, Rafe!" you turn and scream at him. He moves his head back and stares at you, clearly hurt by your outburst.
"Okay, look, I apologized-"
"You didn't, actually," you interrupt him, watching as Rafe replays this whole interaction over in his head and realizes he, in fact, has not actually apologized.
"All right. I am so sorry that I wasn't home on time and that I didn't call. Some shit just came up and I had to handle it but it was shitty of me not to call. If the tables were turned, I'd be mad, too. So, I'm sorry, baby."
Your shoulders fall as you start to melt under his term of endearment for you. Even after being together for so long, him calling you 'baby' still makes butterflies go crazy in your stomach.
"I accept your apology," you say quietly, watching his eyes shoot up to yours and a grin erupt on his face, "But I'm still gonna go home. You wasted my night, Rafe. I just want to be by myself."
His eyes fall to the floor again as he speaks, "It's pouring. Please just stay. I'll drive you home in the morning."
You stare at the boy, the man, you love so much and give in. Him worrying about you is always enough to make your heart melt, no matter how mad you can get at him.
"Fine," you mumble, dropping your bag onto the floor of Rafe's bedroom.
Rafe comes over and wraps his arms around you, pulling you close and holding you tightly. He pretends to not get upset when you don't return his hug. You're still mad, annoyed, and frustrated.
"I'm gonna go shower," you tell him as you pull away.
He wants to ask if he can join you, but he knows you're not in the mood for him to be playing around. So, he lets go of you and watches as you walk over to his bathroom door and close the door behind you.
You take a long shower. The warm water feels so good on your stressed muscles and Rafe being in the other room and not with you is comforting as well. Of course, you love him, but you also love your space and need to not be around him sometimes.
When you come out of the bathroom, only wrapped in a towel, you find Rafe fast asleep on his side of the bed. You try not to be upset with him because you know he had a stressful day and hr's exhausted, but you're also mad because of everything plus the fact that he's high and pretty much just passed out on you.
You pick up one of Rafe's shirts from the floor and then slide a pair of his boxers on, then grab your phone and head for the door. There's a guest room down the hall from Rafe's bedroom that you are going to sleep in, because you want to be alone and you really don't want to listen to Rafe snore all night after he's already irritated the shit out of you.
Your bare feet scurry across the hardwood floor and over to the guest room door, quietly pushing it open and slipping inside. You pull the covers back on the bed and crawl inside, relieved to be cuddling into a bed even if it isn't your own. The sleep is already trying to take over your body, so you don't even have time to browse your phone. It's time for sleep.
Almost the second your head hits the pillow, you're out. All of that worrying about where Rafe had been and if he had been okay had really worn you out.
You're waken up from your sleep when you hear the guest bedroom door creak open. Everything in the Cameron house is ancient, so everything creaks and cracks. You turn around in the bed and face the door, seeing your boyfriend's face squished in the doorway. He smiles softly when he sees you, but you can still see the sleep lining his eyes.
"Rafe," you grumble, pulling the sheets over your head.
"Baby," he says back, a playfulness in his voice.
He comes into the room and closes the door softly behind him. You feel him try to pull the sheets up from your grip, so you pull them tighter.
"Scoot over, baby," he whispers, so you sigh but obey.
Rafe breaks the sheets from your grasp and dives into the bed beside you, quick to wrap one of his arms around you and pull you close.
"I was worried when I woke up and you were gone," he admits to you, staring at the ceiling, "Why are you sleeping in here?"
You sigh, not really wanting to talk. You just want your sleep. Clearly, Rafe has other plans.
"You were already asleep when I got out of the shower," you say, attitude present in your voice.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart," he says quickly, "I just crashed."
You want to make a comment about how, of course he crashed, because he was high when he got home. Instead, you move your head down to his chest, making him relax.
"It's okay," you barely whisper.
Rafe sighs, knowing it's not, "I'm going to do better."
You don't respond. You can feel yourself starting to get emotional at his promises, because he's made them before.
"I mean it, baby," he tells you when you don't answer, "I really fucked up tonight. I know that. I never, ever meant to skip out on a date with you or make you angry with me. I made a really bad judgment call and it will never happen again."
You bury your face into his chest, finally allowing yourself to completely breathe him in for the first time tonight. Although Rafe screws up a lot, one thing he does well is apologize. He's said absolutely everything that you have wanted to hear since he ran late tonight.
"Promise me," you say against him, feeling your tears start to come up again.
"I promise you."
You look up at him in the darkness, then crawl up against his body to leave a kiss on his lips. It's gentle and sweet, leaving Rafe wanting more when you pull away.
"I forgive you," you tell him, bringing a hand up to play with his hair. He closes his eyes under your touch, grateful to have such an amazing woman by his side.
"I love you so much, baby," he whispers.
"I love you, too," you reply, then sit up in the bed.
You crawl on top of your boyfriend, feeling him sit up so you can have a better seat on his lap. You straddle him and bring your lips down his cheeks and to his neck, knowing you're getting to him when he moves his head to the side to give you more space to work with.
"Mmm," he hums, his hands falling all the way back to shamelessly grab your ass.
"Just because we missed our date doesn't mean we have to skip out on the best part," you whisper in his ear, purposely trying to drive him crazy. It works, because he lets out a moan at your words.
"Holy shit, that's right, baby," he nods, leaning forward and kissing you. He bites your bottom lip and pulls it back before he let's go, knowing you love when he does that.
"You're gonna take care of me, right?" you ask him, keeping your voice low.
He brings one hand around from your ass and starts to rub you through his own boxers you have on, smirking when he realizes why the fabric feels so familiar.
"Don't I always?" he asks, "You were so mad at me earlier, and still put my fucking boxers on, huh?"
You grin but bury your head in his neck so he can't tell. Rafe's smirk just widens when you don't respond, so he slowly and carefully brings his hands up to the top of the boxers, then bringing his hands down to your core. You know he's going slow on purpose to tease you, and it's working. He always drives you crazy.
"Rafe," you finally whine, wanting him to do something other than graze your center.
"Hmm, baby? You want more?"
He smirks when he can feel you get even wetter as he speaks. He knows exactly what turns you on.
"Yes, please," you nod, doing your best to not sound impatient.
"So polite, baby," he grins, bringing his lips to your cheek and down to your neck as he pushes his fingers in you.
You moan as two fingers enter you, feeling Rafe start to move them in and out immediately. His grin only widens as he watches you, even being able to see you with your mouth open through the darkness.
"Keep going," you tell him, moaning once again at how good he feels.
He starts to go faster, then brings his other hand up to your mouth and sticks two of those fingers in your mouth.
"I want to hear you," he says quietly, "I know how loud you can get. But I don't want to get us in trouble. Okay, princess?"
You nod, sucking on his fingers in your mouth. He moans and moves his fingers in and out of you even faster. He feels you clench around him, so he knows you're ready. He looks up into your eyes and then pushes his fingers back further into your mouth.
"Come for me, baby, I've got you."
You nod and clench again, then come only a minute later. He smirks as he removes two separate sets of his fingers from your body, bringing the ones that been buried inside your core up to his lips.
"Jesus," you groan, watching him as he licks his fingers clean through the darkness.
"You better not be exhausted, I'm not done with you yet," he warns you.
You smile and lean forward, kissing him roughly and moving your hips against his. He moans in your mouth, not being able to contain himself.
"Shit," he swears when you pull away, "I'm gonna fuck up more often."

The Game ~ LF [M] [Request]
WORD COUNT: 8.3K
PAIRING: Felix x FemReader
GENRE: Angst, AU, post-apocalyptic world, a giant game of truth or dare, kill or be killed world, a little fluff, Smut, slow burn, ANGST
WARNING: Themes of death, blood, jumping from high heights, guns, knives, murder, hurting yourself, falling from heights
There were only two things in the world that you feared, and that was whatever was controlling the pagers and the dares that came through them. Everything you knew and loved was gone, leaving behind a scary post-apocalyptic world but the scariest part was no one knew how it came to be. One night everything had been as it was and the next...Nothing but vast nothingness, crumbled buildings and small pagers that helped you survive.
"I think I saw someone go this way," You gasps pressing your back against the wall and holding your breath. Voices were never a good sign when you were in an abandoned building looking for supplies. It could have been where someone had set up their life and you were stealing or they could have been dared to find you.
In this world it was, kill or be killed. Thanks to the machines that were permanently attached to your hips. No one knew what was controlling them and they said what because there was no way whatever it was was human. The dares ranged from something easy to something almost impossible but the incentives were always the selling point. It could be as something simple as a night in a real bed or real food to wake up to in the morning. You weren't sure how it all got to the people that won the dares or if it was safe but it was the first real food anyone had had in a long time.
Though all of that was rumoured nothing was ever shown to be true to you, all you ever got were small dares in order to find a blanket to keep you warm or some extra clothes.
Edging yourself towards the window of the crumbling museum you debated jumping from the height you were at, it was nothing too large. Just two floors you would be fine but there was a group of guys right beside the entrance, if they saw or heard you there would be no doubt you would be caught.
"I don't see anyone Soobin." A voice cried out as you kept your back pressed against the outer wall of the building, praying that you wouldn't slip or-
BeepBeepBeepBeep
The loud and irritating pager began to ring on your hip and someone's head snapped out of the window you had crawled from.
"GOTTCHA!" Screaming at the sudden voice you slipped on the cracked lege slipping down onto the ground and grunting when you felt something stab you in the side. Holding your hand on your right side you saw a small patch of red begin to leak through your shirt,
"Just got this," You mumbled getting yourself up from the floor, ignoring the group of boys that were starting to rush towards you calling out for you to stop. There was nothing on this planet, not even a dare, that would make you stop and speak to them.
"Leave me alone!" You coughed out as they continued to follow you down the abandoned street you had set yourself up in. A small abandoned store which no one else seemed to be interested in. You'd found it a few weeks ago and set up shop there, a makeshift bed made out of old books you'd found. It wasn't exactly the comfiest thing in the world but it was somewhere to lay your head, somewhere safe.
"We just wanna talk." The one who had caused you to slip cried out but you continued to walk, keeping your hand on the wound you'd gotten so you wouldn't bleed out too much. There was a small first aid kit stashed in one of the drawers of the store you stayed in, it didn't have many supplies left since the last dare you got was to get a pillow for a night.
"Just leave me alone." You hissed through gritted teeth wanting nothing more than forever it was to leave you alone but a hand grabbed onto your wrist. Before you even had a chance to turn around and smack the culprit they were already on the floor with a bloody nose.
"She said to leave her alone," A deep voice ordered, towering over the boy who had scared you was a boy. Well, a man. Dressed in all black clothing that looked new, guns in small holsters as he stood looking at the other men that had been bothering you. Had it not been for the guns you didn't think he would have intimidated them that much, he wasn't much taller than you and he seemed rather sweet in the face.
"Thanks," You uttered as he helped you up from the ground, noticing the wound on your side when a whistling sound sounded in the air.
"Someone's getting a package," You laughed softly as you looked up in the sky for wherever the package would be coming from but it dropped right into the boy's hands.
"I was dared to save a stranger." He chuckled as he opened the mental container revealing two chocolate bars.
"Here," He offered you one and you stared at him, there was no way he could have been serious.
"You don't know me...Why would you offer me something you worked for?" Leaning back against a rock you tried to steady yourself from fainting. The bleeding was starting to worsen and you knew you were going to end up losing consciousness soon.
"Because that's what decent people do...You should clean yourself up before you get infected..." Spot the obvious sherlock you looked at him before down at your shirt that was starting to turn pink from the blood.
"I'm out of first aid stuff, I think all I have is gauze." You hissed out lifting your shirt up to reveal the small gash on your side. You must have landed on a sharp brick or a twig when you slipped from the museum building. It was a high chance it would become infected if you didn't get something fast.
"Do you have a dare? Maybe you could do something," Staring down at your pager you remembered it had gone off. The whole reason you had gotten into this mess, they should have come with a vibrating setting.
"Kiss a stranger and win a first aid box." You laughed looking at it, the words flashing over and over again as you thought about it.
"It's like whoever controls them knows what's going to happen to us before we do." You spoke looking back up, the boy knelt down in front of you rooting through his bag for something he could use to help you when you grabbed him by the face.
"Sorry." You mumbled before pushing your lips against his.
In that moment the kiss was something that felt as close to home as you had been in the longest time. The boy was shocked but pulled you closer to him, moving his lips in time with yours as he wrapped his arms protectively around you. The kiss was warm and inviting, something you hadn't felt in the longest time and you weren't sure you ever wanted it to end.
Neither of you pulled apart until the whistling sound happened and a box landed beside you but it was far too small for a first aid kit.
"What did they give you?" He frowned as he looked at the box. Unlocking it you popped it open to find a hotel key. The whole time you had been doing these dares you'd never once been given a hotel room, you'd only ever heard stories about it and to be honest. You thought it was all rumours.
"Why would they give me a hotel key when I was promised a first aid kit?" The persistent pain in your side was starting to worsen when another beep signalled from your pager. It wasn't a dare but directions to a building with the words,
"Take Felix with you." You glanced up at the boy you had just made out with and he seemed to be blushing deeply. It must have been him you were going to take with you to a random location.
"Felix?" He nodded his head as he held out his hand for you to shake which seemed pointless after the make-out session you had both had.
"Y/n." You smiled before shaking his hand and getting up from the rock you were leaning against.
"Let's go and find a hotel..." Felix wrapped your arm around his shoulder wanting to help you walk without hurting yourself.
"I'm sure everything will be explained when we get there." He told you as he began to follow the directions that were now flashing on his pager.
"Have you ever gotten a hotel for a dare?" You asked, truly interested to hear anything about the boy you had been kissing.
"No. I thought people were lying when they told me they stayed in one." You agreed with him. The stories you heard seemed too good to be true. One hotel building left standing, nothing wrong with it and it worked perfectly. Why would that be the only building left standing?
"I heard they have running water and electricity." He whispered as you continued to walk together but the same question was left. Why? Why would it be there and no one allowed to enter?
The question was answered quickly when you reached the hotel. The entire place was surrounded by large electrical fences as well as men as large as the fences guarding it.
"They have to be...What? Eight-foot?" You whimpered as you looked up at Felix. The men all had the same faces and as you got close you realised they had no eyes. Just black holes where their eyes should have been and a creepy smile on their face.
"Just a little creepy," You whispered as you moved towards the gate, one of the men bent down and opened it. Slamming and locking it shut once you were inside the safety of the fences.
"They remind me of Hachishakusama...The old urban legend only male." Felix muttered in your ear as you walked through the doors of the hotel. Suddenly it felt as though you were back in time.
The whole place was crowded with people, dressed in clothing that wasn't ruined or covered in blood. Laughing and joking with one another as they walked around the hotel lobby together.
"AH! Welcome! You must be Y/n and Felix, yes...Yes, we've been waiting for you." A small man said as he came out from behind the counter. Dressed in a fresh suit and he smelt like roses,
"Do you have the key?" Fishing the small key from your pocket you handed it to him and he smiled up at you.
"I'll have Xavier take your bags," The small man clapped his hands together and you jumped when you saw one of the things from outside coming up to you. It said nothing as it held out its hands to take your bags.
"You'll be given fresh clothing and don't worry Y/n we have some items in the room for you to clean your cut with. Nasty little gash," You stared back at the small man, how had he seen it when you were still dressed.
"How did-"
"No time for questions dear, let's go to the elevators." Following behind the man you stared around the hotel. Red carpets, huge chandeliers and working lights, it was all too good to be true. You must have died when you slipped from the ledge there was no way this was real.
"There's always a catch." You laughed when you walked into the hotel room to find one double bed there. The small man, who you eventually learned the name was Wooyoung, gave you a key to the room and left you alone. Your bags were taken away and never seen again and now you knew why. Fresh clothes were hanging on the back of the door with a wardrobe filled with other clothes.
"I think this is for you," Holding up a small tube Felix smiling at you.
"Healing ointment?" Your heart raced, you'd received it once before for a large gash on your leg. One layer applied to your body and it would fix whatever was wrong, no matter what kind of gash it was.
"I'll use a little and keep the rest." You stated lifting your shirt up to apply the cream but Felix came closer.
"Let me." He whispered as he took the cream from you, applying a small layer to three of his fingers and adding it to your injury. You cried out clutching onto his hand tightly trying not to cry. You forgot how painful it was to have the ointment applied to an open wound but you knew it would soon feel good.
"Did the guys who were chasing do this?" He questioned when you lowered your shirt back down.
"No. I fell off the museum ledge and I must have hit myself on a brick." You wanted to laugh at how clumsy you must have been but you were too busy looking around the room.
"We have running water...Do you want to shower first?" You shook your head, offering him the shower while you could stalk around the room for any sign that this was a dream.
Laying on your back in the bed you stared at the ceiling, your mind was racing too much to comprehend what was happening. You were dressed in brand new clothes instead of something that was covered in wholes, rips and smelt like a sewer. The silk sheets around you felt as though they were something crafted in the heavens and you were laid beside someone you barely knew.
"Have you been alone this whole time?" You questioned randomly knowing that neither of you could sleep. The bed was far too comfy and the room was too quiet, both of you were used to having screams or loud noises happening around you. It felt too peaceful for either of you to find sleep anytime soon.
"No. I was with a group of friends but we got separated." He mumbled thinking back on seven of his friends he hadn't seen in lord knows how long. It was impossible to tell how many days it had been since this whole thing started.
"What about you?" He turned his head to look at you and you shook your head. There'd been no one for you to attach yourself to, your family was gone and you knew no one in the world you could turn to for help so you went it alone.
"I've been alone the whole time..." Your voice sounded strained, it was the first time admitting it to someone other than yourself. Mostly because you never let anyone get close enough to you to speak. You'd run before they could kill you or take your supplies but with Felix it was different. It felt normal to be around him and it felt safe.
"Family?" You shook your head, everyone you had ever met was someone your age or only a few years older or younger. There was no one older than 30 anywhere to be seen.
"Do you remember what you were doing before all of this?" You shook your head once again, you remembered nothing besides your family and your name.
"I remember going to sleep and waking up to my house falling down around me. You?" He nodded his head, it was almost everything he had remembered from the time before his life here.
"The same. I was asleep in my room with my roommates, then nothing...We were in a crumbling building." Looking at him you could tell the memory of his friends upset him. There was no reason for you to pry besides an interest in getting to know him.
"When did you get separated?" His head turned to look back up at the ceiling. It had been a while since he thought back on what had happened between them.
"Sixteen days ago...We were doing some kind of dare in an abandoned factory and that was it. Never saw them again..." Your heart sank as you realised how scared he must have been after being with them since the start. From having the safety of other people around him to having nothing and no one.
"I waited outside the factory for ten days but then supplies got low and I had to move." He looked down at his hands, it was something he had always regretted. Had they come back while he was gone? Something he constantly thought about. There was only one way in and out of the factory there was nowhere else they could have gone.
"Felix I'm so sorry." You whispered reaching out to place your hand on top of his as you. Felix stared back at you to see your eyes were filled with sympathy for him,
"No...It's not your fault." He looked at you and smiled, a genuine smile something you hadn't seen in a long time. Your eyes flicked down to his lips and all you could think about was inching closer to kiss him again so you did.
Gently pressing your lips against his you sighed as you felt the feeling of home flooding back into you. Felix felt it too and all he wanted to do was never let go of you, to feel it all day every day.
It was hard to describe it any other way than that. Kissing him felt as though it grounded you and took you out of the crummy world you had.
"Goodnight Felix," You breathed as you rolled over onto your side, closing your eyes to finally get some rest.
Felix woke up long before you did and found a note on his pager, he hadn't even heard it in the night.
Stick with her and good things will come.
No dare. Just some cryptic message that good things would come if he stayed by your side. There was no way he was going to fight something he couldn't see so he stayed, laying beside you reading through a book that was left on the bedside cabinet.
"How long have you been awake?" You whined as you rolled over to see him sitting up in the bed,
"I'm not sure. You looked peaceful so I figured I should let you sleep for a while." He explained as he shut the book he was reading, he was about to mention the pager message when there was a knock at the door.
"Come in?" You called out to the door, it opened and Xavier walked into the room pushing a small trolley. There was still the empty eyes and creepy smile plastered across its face. Grunting before leaving you alone with the tray of food you exchanged a look with Felix.
"Creepy even in the morning." He mumbled as he watched you crawling to the end of the bed. The trolley was covered in food, breakfast desserts and a small envelope with your name on the front of it.
"What does it say?" Felix asked as his mouth watered at the sight of all the food. Something he hadn't seen in however long it had been, frits, baked goods and actual food that wasn't some kind of animal they had to kill in order to eat it.
"Y/n, meet your new teammate. Follow the rules, the dares and you will be greatly rewarded. Enjoy the food and the hotel for as long as we see fit." You stared from the piece of paper and back to Felix who looked almost as confused as you did.
"Teammate? What is this? Some sort of game?" You scoffed throwing the paper into the bin before grabbing food and handing some to Felix.
"Greatly rewarded? What could they give us?" Felix questioned as he thought back to the message he had gotten that morning.
"I had a message on my pager. It told me to stay with you and good things would come." The two of you stared back at one another confused as to what everything could mean and why you had to stay together. Was it the same condition everyone was sticking to in the hotel?
"So we stick together, what does that mean exactly?" He questioned you as he bit down into the croissant he was holding. You wish you had answers but the messages were so vague you didn't have a hint, at least if you were on your own you didn't have to worry about someone else all of the time.
"We do our dares together? What happened when you were with your friends?" Felix thought back on everything. The first few dares they'd gotten were to receive items they needed by themselves but the rest were together.
"Chan and I were dared to climb across a rope suspended over 15 floors...We did it to get food for all of us," You nodded trying to think back on some of the things you had to do, most of them not dangerous at all.
"I had to give myself a tattoo in order to get some blankets." You pulled up the sleeve of your nightshirt to reveal the small circle you had done.
"It was supposed to be a heart...But it hurt and I just did a circle instead." Felix smiled as he saw the small ink splodge just below the pit of your elbow.
"Have you gotten anything dangerous before?" You shook your head in the answer to his question. Whoever was giving you dares had been going fairly easy on you which was beginning to worry you know that you heard Felix had hard ones.
"I just wish we knew who or what was doing it to us." You admitted as you looked over at your pager. There had to be someone controlling them, governments, parents, some other world that had taken over?
"My friend Jisung had a theory," Felix laughed thinking back on Jisung. He was the one that always made the group laugh, no matter what was going on around him he had to make people laugh.
"Aliens." That was all Felix said as you shook your head,
"Explain more! How could it just be aliens," You shook your head laughing at the concept though you guessed anything could be possible by the state of the world.
"Well, he thought that they came one night and decided they wanted to test us...See how far we would go to survive." You shrugged, it wasn't completely impossible. The entire universe was huge no one knew what was out there and if that thing like Xiaver was around who knew what else could be out there.
"I wonder when the next dare will be?" You hated the fact that you were being fed food just for kissing a stranger. There had to be more to it than that, there was always a catch.
But there wasn't. From what you could tell it had been two months since you and Felix moved into the hotel, there were no more dares for you to follow. Just notes every morning with breakfast complimenting how well you and Felix seemed to be getting on well with one another.
"It's starting to freak me out." You told Felix as you sat by the indoor pool one morning, another Xiaver was guarding the room to make sure nothing happened. Since staying in the hotel you learnt that all of the 8-foot-tall beings were called Xiaver, they had no personality and no ability to talk.
"What is?" Felix asked as he swam over to the side of the pool you were sitting at, you looked at him and then around the room. Nothing felt as though it was relaxing to you, couples around the hotel seemed on edge all of the time. No one looked as happy as they did on your first day there.
"This whole place...You don't find it off that there's nothing here, no dares? Just someone telling us how well we get along." The two of you had developed a friendship and budding relationship since being trapped together. Sharing a bed with the same person every night was bound to form some kind of connection. You would spend all day every day together because you were the only ones who know one another.
"I find it nice, I would like if you stop trying to poke holes into my relaxation," He muttered pulling you into the water with him and wrapping your legs around his waist.
"But why would they want us to relax? After all of this time why now?" You pouted as Felix held you in his arms staring into your eyes.
"Maybe whoever it is thought we had enough...That we should enjoy our time together." Even that seemed far fetched to you but you nodded at him.
"I still don't-" He cut you off by kissing you softly on the lips, smiling as he felt you relax against him.
"If I rant again will you kiss me?" He shook his head, running his hand over your face and smiling weakly.
"I don't need you to rant for me to kiss you." He leant down and connected your lips together once again making you sigh happily against his lips.
The two of you would do this a lot too, it was the first real human connection you'd had in a while and you never wanted to lose the feeling.
"Can I tell you something?" Your voice was hoarse as you pressed your forehead against Felix's.
"Sure, We're friends right...You can tell me anything," You smiled weakly as you shook your head,
"That's the problem...I think I'm falling in love with you."
"Good. Because I think I'm falling in love with you too." You smiled softly smashing your lips together, all of a sudden the kisses were heated and filled with passion.
From the pool to your room the two of you made out every chance you got, passion building between you whenever you had the chance.
"We don't have to do anything you're not ready for." Felix panted as he pressed you down against the bed, kissing up and down your neck as you shook your head.
"I'm fine. I-I want you, Felix," You whispered as he began to press his mouth onto yours, pulling off your bikini you had been wearing in the pool and throwing it elsewhere in the room.
Slowly moving your hands down his body you gripped him in your hand softly pumping him as he let out a choked moan. Thrusting his hips into your hand as he rolled his eyes back. It had been the first time in forever since he'd even thought about touching himself let alone having someone else do it for him.
"Oh fuck that feels good," He moaned out as his head rolled back, thrust in and out of your hand while you used your thumb to rub the tip.
"Y/n." He whispered as he ran his hands down to your core rubbing your bundle of nerves causing you to whine out his name. Bucking your hips so much that the tip of his cock hit your entrance and you clenched around nothing.
"Felix please," You whispered as you arched your back of the bed, desperate to have him buried inside of you.
Wrapping your ankles around his waist he pulled you to the edge of the bed running his cock through your folds.
"Lix," You sighed rolling your head back against the mattress as you waited for him.
"You beg so sweetly," He chuckled before running his cock through your folds and up to your clit making you cry out louder.
Slowly easing into your he moaned out as he felt you clenching around him tightly. Nails digging into his arms you adjusted to the size inside of you,
"Holy fuck," You moaned out as you could feel your pussy throbbing and clenching just from the first thrust,
"You're so fucking tight," He grunted out as he felt you clench around him once more.
"M-Move Lix, please." You begged him bucking your hips around him as he slowly began to pull out and bottom back into you. Screaming out his name you rolled your head back against the bed, enjoying the feeling of his full length in you.
"Faster," You panted as you looked up at him, pulling him down into a deep kiss as your pushed your hands into his hair.
"Faster? You're sure?" He panted as he looked at you,
"Make me scream." You smirked as he looked back at you, a smirk covering his face as he began to thrust in and out of you at a fast pace. Pounding in and out of you at a steady rhythm as he grunted loudly.
"Fuck you feel so good!" He moaned out as he continued to thrust faster into you. Your moans of his name encouraging him as you gripped onto his arms.
"S-Shit Lix, don't stop." You begged as you could feel your orgasm fast approaching. The feeling felt so foreign to you but so good, your mind was starting to go blank as you cried out nothing but his name. Hips thrusting harder and harder as he began to rub your clit making you scream out his name, by now everyone on your floor knew what you were going to be doing.
"I'm-I'm gonna cum," You warned him as your eye screwed shut, gripping onto the sheets as your back arched away from the bed.
"Holy fuck! Right there," You begged him as his hips continued to hit you right where you needed it until you came around him. Exploding as you clenched around him, it felt as though your whole body was suddenly on fire as your pussy clenched over and over again.
Felix's thrusts slowed to a stop as his breathing became ragged and hard.
"Shit." He panted as he kissed your neck, feeling himself twitching inside of you as he came.
Falling down beside you he pulled you into his arms, kissing up and down your shoulder softly.
"Well, that confirmed it," He panted as he placed a kiss on your shoulder, making you giggle at him.
"Confirmed what?"
"That I am in fact, 100% totally in love with you." He breathed out before leaving a soft and gentle kiss on your lips.
A loud tannoy began to play in your room startling you and Lix awake as you looked around to see what was going on.
"Good morning our lovely couple. I'll expect to see you in the lobby in ten minutes!" You frowned hearing Wooyoung's voice coming through the speaker system in your room. In the whole time, you had been staying it had never happened, not once.
"I wonder what that's about," Felix whispered as he sat up in the bed, looking over at the wardrobe to decide what he was going to wear that day.
"Probably in trouble for how loud we were." You whined remembering the night before as you pushed yourself off the bed. Not that you were complaining, if that kept happening between you and Felix you were never going to complain about a single thing in the world ever again.
"New pagers?" You frowned as Wooyoung placed a white pager in your hands, smiling up at you as he nodded.
"You've been chosen. Congratulations." The congratulations didn't make you feel comforted in fact it made you uneasy as you stared at the new pager in your hands. A notification coming through almost right away.
"To stay one more night we dare you to...Get a new tattoo..." You frowned looking at the words on the screen, Felix frowned as his pager didn't go off yet.
"Well. That dare seems simple, we have someone on hand if you want to come through." Wooyoung seemed overly chipper as he leads you and Felix over to a set of doors. Pushing them open he smiled when he saw one of the chairs were free, all of the seven others were taken by other people completing the same dare.
"We have another!" Wooyoung cried out as he handed you a small folder of designs to look through. All of them had the words, "The Game," written somewhere into the design and you stared anxiously at Felix. It wasn't the fear of getting a tattoo but the fear that this was a game to some people, then there was the uneasy feeling that there were only couples in the hotel. Had whoever been creating the dares been waiting for you and Felix to come together?
"What design would you like us to give to her?" The question was directed at Felix who looked at you shocked,
"I have to decide? But it was her dare..." You looked at the man who shook his head,
"Her's was to get a tattoo yours should be-" Before he could say coming through now his Felix's pager lit up and the words came across the screen.
"Two extra nights, you decide what she's branded with," A shiver ran through you. Branded? This had to be some kind of sick game but you never wanted out of the hotel. It had become too good to leave, going back into the world meant sleeping on the floor and not knowing when your next meal was going to come.
"I trust you," You whispered as you kissed Felix softly, sitting down in the chair and waited for whatever he gave you.
The tattoo he'd given you was no larger than a usually sized post-it note, it was a floral design and besides the words it was perfect.
"At least we have two more nights," He whispered as you got into the elevator again to up to your floor. Another couple joining you as they looked at you, the male had a black eye and his girlfriend had a large cut on her stomach. As soon as they caught you looking at them they stared back at the doors making you stare up at Felix in a panic. The couple looked as though they'd been in a wrestling fight with a bear and lost but Felix just wrapped his arm around your waist protectively and kissed your shoulder.
Days and weeks began to go by and the dares began to get more and more out of control. It had started with something small as running naked through the halls, jumping into the pool naked or just having a verbal fight with someone. Now it was out of hand. Just last week you had been dared to punch someone in the face while they had been dared to fight someone leaving you bruised eyes and a busted up lip.
"There's no way." You whimpered as you sat beside Felix in the pool room. The Xavier's were loading the pool up with buckets of fish, you couldn't even tell what they were from this far away.
"Swim with Pirana's for another night's stay. Good things are coming." Felix read the pager to you and you gripped onto his hand, there was no way on the planet that you were even going to allow him of jumping into that pool.
"You can't...They'll eat you," You panicked as you looked at him, begging him not to do it but he didn't have a choice.
"Wooyoung said this is the easiest one. All I have to do is not move while I'm in there." You shook your head as he began walking to the edge of the pool, looking over at the fish that were calmly swimming around in the new water.
"Felix we can go outside, we don't have to keep putting ourselves through this." You begged but he knew neither of you wanted to go outside into the world now so he did it. Climbing down the ladder into the water so he was in the shallow end of the pool, you sat right by the edge ready to yank him out if anything happened.
"This is too easy Lix." You hissed at him as he just stood there, looking at you as he shook his head.
"Not everything is going to be as bad as you think." His face dropped and the colour drained as he saw one of the Xiavers coming into the room with another bucket.
"For an additional month-long stay, stay inside with the Pirarna's for an extra two minutes." You frowned reading the pager out to him not understanding until you saw the look of terror on Felix's face. Xavier had begun to pour fish guts and bones into the water surrounded Felix.
"Get out." You ordered him as you stared back at Felix,
"Please just get out. It's not worth it." You panicked feeling your heart begin to pound against your chest but he didn't move. He stayed still as a rock as he looked at you, smiling weakly trying not to show how truly terrified he was.
"Lix." Tears began to pour down your face, one bite was as sharp as a razor and there had to be around 400 Pirana's swimming around him at all times, eating parts of the fish that had been thrown in for them.
A buzzer sounded and Felix practically jumped out of the water, grabbing you and cradling you in his arms as you sobbed against his chest.
"Never again!" You yelled at home as you rocked back and forth a little.
"You can't leave me...I won't lose you." You whimpered over and over again as he kissed the top of your year. Neither of you noticing the cameras capturing every moment you had together in the pool.
The final month had been and gone so quickly, you spent most of your time locked up in the room together trying to convince Felix that you could both make it out there but he dropped a bomb on you. The pagers you originally had were never going to come back and the white ones would only work in the hotel,
"Once we're out there we're alone. No supplies unless we start stealing." He told you as he tried to convince you everything was going to be okay. That he would take anything too dangerous out of your hands while you told him not to be stupid.
"Dare time. For one glorious night, stab yourself in the thigh." You read out right before a knock on the door sounded, you sniffled looking at Felix who got up to answer the door.
"I bring you whatever you want to stab yourself with, we heard they wanted a show from you both. You're the hit of the hotel, everyone keeps talking about the two of you." Staring at the tray he had bought into the room you saw a selection of knifes all waiting for you to take.
"I can take her dare, right?" Felix questioned but it was too late. You'd already taken one of the steak knives and lodged it into your thigh, holding back a shriek as you felt blood begin to trickle down your leg.
"A girl that wastes no time, we love it," Wooyoung smirked yanking the knife out and leaving you there to bleed,
"F-Felix." You whispered pointing over at the wardrobe where your things were kept.
"The ointment is in there," You'd get up yourself but you were busy clutching your thigh to stop the bleeding.
"I would have done it for you,"
"I am capable you know." You laughed as he began to apply the cream to your leg, looking at you and shaking his head as he thought about how bad things were going to get from there.
"Maybe there will be one big dare we can do...So that we never have to do a dare again?" You hummed, it seemed too good to be true but you had hope that one day it would all end. That the two of you would have done enough dares between you to let you go.
Final dare. Freedom for you. Kill Him. Staring at your pager you frowned. Freedom for you? You glanced over at Felix who was in the middle of an arm wrestle with someone else on your floor. It wasn't a dare just something to do while you waited for the days to pass by faster. You wondered if Felix had gotten the same page but he never flinched or moved to signal that his pager had gone off.
Final dare. Freedom for you. Kill Her. You were in the shower when Felix got his page and panic flooded through him. Kill you? When did this become a game of murder? The water shut off and you came out wrapped in a towel and stared at him.
"You got it too?" You whispered when you noticed the look on his face, you'd known him so long it was like reading the pages of a magazine with him.
"You got the same?" He questioned as he sat down on the bed. You were laying there trying to make it look as though you weren't whispering to him. If there were people watching you at all hours of the day to make sure dares were completed there had to be a camera in your room.
"Why would they want us to kill each other?" You whispered as you looked through the book in front of you, Felix frowned as he thought about it more. The two of you sat there together as you read through the book in your hand, exchanging a couple of looks with him every now and again.
"Alien theory still stands. Want to see how far they can push us." You scoffed getting up from the bed and changing into some clothes. Sitting there and doing nothing about the dare was getting you nowhere. You had one more night thanks to a dare you'd completed the other day, a game of Russian roulette which you had clearly won.
"Well, then I'm going back into the real world...I'm not going to kill you." Felix watched you as you began to pack different items into an overnight bag as if any of it was going to help you in the outside world. None of that was going to help you out there, not anymore.
"I can't go back out there," He told you plainly making you stare over at him waiting for him to tell you that he was joking but he stared at you with a serious look, not once giving you any indication that it was a joke.
"Lix...I won't kill you," You frowned as you shook your head at him, there was no way you were going to be able to bring yourself to kill someone you loved that deeply.
"Then I guess I'll have to kill you." The breath felt as though it was knocked from your lungs as Felix got up from the bed just staring at you. Slowly beginning to walk towards you with a blank expression on his face as your heart hammered against your chest.
"You can't! I-I love you, you wouldn't-" You stopped speaking when a knife flew past your head and lodged into the door behind you, staring at the handle you looked back at him.
"I won't go back out there. I can't." Your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach as you began to realise he was willing to kill you in order to stay there forever.
The tannoy speakers began to crackle before a song played through them loudly,
"Run rabbit, run rabbit, run, run, run." As soon as the lyrics played your eyes wandered to Felix who pulled out one of his guns from the wardrobe.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Goes the farmer's gun." Throwing the door open you slammed it behind you making a sprint for the elevators but two Xiaver's were guarding the doors and shaking their heads. Hands simply pointing in the direction of the stairs and the song continued to play louder and louder, faster and faster with each second.
"HELP ME!" You screamed as you banged on different doors hoping that someone would hear your calls and come out to help you but nothing happened.
"Y/n! Don't run, it spoils my fun!" Felix sang out in a singing voice watching as you walked into the stairwell, down was where Wooyoung would be waiting for you so you rushed up.
"I thought you loved me..." Your voice came out broken as you stood on the roof of the hotel looking at Felix who had followed you up to the top floor.
"I do! I need to do this, if you want to go out there you might as well be dead!" You stepped closer to the edge of the roof as you stared at him, shaking your head over and over again.
"If you truly loved me you wouldn't do this," You panted as he stared at you,
"Y/n. Get down before you hurt yourself." Wooyoung cried out as he watched you so close to the edge, your eyes darted over to him. Felix watched you as you looked at Wooyoung,
"If I jump what happens?" You looked over your shoulder, it had to be around a 12 story drop and you looked back at Wooyong.
"The dare would be cancelled, he would have to do something else..." Eyes darting back at Felix you nodded slowly watching as he shot a bullet at Wooyoung hitting the floor beside him and rushing over to you.
"Then I choose Y/n. I don't want to kill her. I don't want to go out there." His arms wrapped around your waist as you smiled at him, you'd hope this would call someone's bluff, whoever was watching or maybe even Wooyoung but he stared at you both.
"You think we don't get this all the time? People decided to call out bluff. Do it." He answered coldly as he folded his arms over his chest.
"I love you," You breathed out to Felix as he held your face in his hands,
"I love you more." He whispered kissing you softly as you both stepped over the edge.
A gust of wind hit you and then nothing. Just darkness. Your breathing was jagged as you moved around, complete darkness surrounded you until you felt something moving around you.
"Here," Something was removed from your eyes and you saw Felix standing there perfectly fine as he stared back at you.
"What- Where-"
"Look," He held up a headset that covered your eyes and you frowned even more.
"It's all fake...Everything was fake." He whispered as he helped you stand up. Nothing he said was making sense until you looked around you, you were sat in a hospital room with a headset on over your eyes.
"They've been researching us...Look." He pulled up a chart from the end of your bed to show you. Your name was printed on the front along with everything that had been happening in the world you thought was real.
"We didn't- We're not dead?" You couldn't find the words to speak and it was a wonder Felix was even able to put all of this together as he moved around the room.
"The two best players." A voice you knew cried out as the door opened, standing there was Wooyoung but he looked different somehow.
"I know, you're thinking about how devilishly handsome I am in this world compared to the alternate one." You blinked at him as he rolled his eyes and came further into the room.
"Congratulations on getting through the game, you have won a quarter of a million dollars." There was no excitement in his voice and you wondered if this was still part of "the game".
"You won when you decided your love with too strong, blah, blah, blah." He grumbled as he looked at you both.
"You'll get a full health check from a nurse but then you're free to go. Felix, your team are all waiting for you." All of this was beginning to hurt your head but Felix sat down beside you, holding your hand tightly in his.
"So none of it was real?" You questioned Chan who was sitting in front of you in the dorms. You'd been able to picture them perfectly from all of the stories Felix had told you,
"Nothing. The pain was all simulated through pads attached to your body and we were all knocked out on so many meds that none of us knew what was real or not real." You blinked once again, all of it had been explained by the nurses. That it was all some competition to win some money during a video game, you couldn't remember anything from before but they said it was normal. It didn't feel right to you, waking up a completely different person because of some video game/alternate universe Wooyoung and a team of scientists had made.
"How do we know this is real?" You whispered to Felix who gave your hand a squeeze,
"Because we know this world...We remembered it," You nodded at him laying your head on his shoulder.
"You'll get taken for tests every other week...To make sure you're adjusting back in properly." Hyunjin said as he handed you another plate of food.
"But this is all real? We're home?" You questioned wanting to make sure that everything was as they said it was.
"Well...We're home, your home is wherever you came from." Chan explained as he looked over at your phone, you had over 500 missed calls and texts from your family and friends wondering where you had been.
"I'll call them," You whispered to Felix before getting up from the chair and kissing his forehead. Although everything that had happened in the fake world was fake, your feelings with Felix had been the most real thing you had felt and you were never going to let that go.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had taken you significantly less time to build your nest this time around, granted you were missing things from your previous nest, but you were also less stressed about making it perfect. Thank goodness Kurogiri had at least gotten the fur blanket that Dabi had given you, even if it was a little charred it was still your favorite. You had quickly decided to make your nest in Dabi’s bed, enjoying the scent that surrounded you, knowing he would be elated.
While you were doing this the rest of the group had spread out across the building, making sure all the scent blockers were working and adding more where they were needed. Dabi and Shigaraki had disappeared off somewhere to discuss things, leaving you alone in his room, bored once your nest was complete. Maybe now was a good time to go explore?
You were just deciding on what you wanted to do when there was a soft knock on the door, looking up you watched as Toga poked her head into the room her eyes lighting up when she saw you.
“Y/N! Kurogiri is making food, do you want some?”
You couldn’t help but smile, nodding at her, grabbing a hoodie that Dabi had scented heavily to help cover your scent before he disappeared off with Shigaraki in case you needed to leave the room so that you didn’t drive the other member’s crazy. After pulling it on, you and Toga took off down the twisting hallways chatting softly.
“I think he said he was making pork cutlet bowls today and I cannot wait to have real food. 24 hours without Kurogiri’s food was awful.”
“Toga would you mind showing me around after we eat? I barely remember how to get to Dabi’s room let alone where everyone else is.” It was like you told her you got her a puppy for Christmas. The way her eyes lit up in excitement and she practically started bouncing down the hall.
“Yes, of course! I can show you my room! I think you’ll like it, it’s really cute!”
The two of you had just stepped into the kitchen when Kurogiri’s warp gate opened up and a familiar face stepped out of it into the kitchen.
“Kroshka! Glad to see you up and about!”
“Anna? Why are you here? No one is hurt are they?”
“Oh no, I just came to check up on your injuries and Dabi asked me to get you some heat suppressants and things. Can’t say I’m shocked that your heat came on so quick being around him.”
You felt your hair stand on end, eyes narrowing at her, a feeling of jealousy and protectiveness coming on at her words.
“Relax Kroshka, I’m not making a move on your alpha. He’s not my type.” She took a step towards you, pushing your hair away and pulling your hoodie down your shoulder to reveal your bond mark, making your face heat up. “My, my, that’s a prominent one. He didn’t force you did he? I’ll kill him.”
“No, I didn’t you crazy bitch.” Dabi had stepped in behind you and Anna’s eyes immediately latched onto his bond mark as well a smile tugging at her face.
“Well, congratulations is due then. Such a shame this one was taken off the market though, I quite liked her.” Anna looped a strand of your hair around her finger, twirling it around a smirk on her face as she watched Dabi bristle. You quickly understood why he wasn’t her type.
Dabi wrapped his arms around your waist pulling you back against him making her drop your hair, a soft growl rumbling out in warning.
“Jeez, you’re both so worked up with protecting each other. Relax, it was joke. My own Alpha pleases me enough.” The Russian rolled her eyes before reaching into her bag and pulling out several boxes that were familiar. It looked like a year’s supply of heat suppressants. She then also pulled out another box that you didn’t recognize setting that on the counter as well. Dabi had settled down a little but was still hugging you tightly from behind nuzzling your cheek softly as you two chatted.
“What’s that?”
“This? You’ve never seen these before?”
“No.. I don’t think so.”
“It’s a scent patch. You put it on and it works like a scent blocker but on your body. Mostly Alpha’s use them but Omega’s have been known to use them when they are on their heat as well just so they can go out in public.”
“Oh… that’s cool. I didn’t know these existed.”
“Well we can’t all be locked up in a room for a week, ya know? Did your parent’s not talk about omega stuff with you? I mean I know not everyone has an omega parent but even Beta’s know about this.” Anna gave you a quizzical look, seeming like she was about to ask more. Until Dabi cleared his throat, artfully changing the subject.
“Did you bring the other thing?” This piqued everyone’s interest.
“Yea… how long ago did you guys have sex?” She dug through her bag searching around, a frown on her face.
You snorted and then covered your face feeling a blush creep up. You could hear Toga snickering from her spot at the counter as Kurogiri finished cooking, the beta pretending he couldn’t hear the conversation.
“Yesterday… went through early this morning. That’s in the time frame right?” Dabi sounded particularly proud of his comment but his question made you scrunch your eyebrows in confusion. Why were they talking about your sex life?
“Yea, you have 2 days technically. Earlier the better though…. Found it. Now you have to make sure to follow the directions on this one.” Anna pulled out another box, this one made your stomach flip, a wave of nausea hitting you with force, panic settling in.
Everyone in the room could smell the distress coming off of you and Kurogiri quickly warped himself and Toga out of the room, you barely registering Toga’s protest. Even Anna paused her speech, a kind of sadness creeping into her eyes as she glanced at Dabi.
“You didn’t talk to her?”
“It’s not your business Anna.”
She fell silent, pursing her lips, her face growing angry before setting the box on the counter, reaching out and patting your shoulder before she left the room, leaving you alone with Dabi and the boxes on the counter.
Your ears were ringing and you felt like you were going to pass out, but you couldn’t move, just staring at the box and the letters written on it.
Plan B… judging by the way that Dabi was acting… this was plan A all along.
He leaned down to press a comforting kiss to your cheek but you flinched away and out of his grasp, wrapping your arms around yourself your eyes hyper-focused on the box that sat in front of you. On the box that reminded you that this wasn’t a fairytale. Of the reality that your life was.
“Mouse… listen…”
“No, no, I won’t listen.” Your voice was barely a whisper, sounding almost horse, but still Dabi heard it clear as day.
“Please don’t fight me on this.”
“On this? Dabi, I can’t fight you on anything.”
“I’m just trying to keep you safe.”
“And how does this fit into that?” You gestured to the box. Refusing to look at it now, feeling like you would throw up if you did. It wasn’t even guaranteed that you could be pregnant right now, but it still didn’t change the way you felt. The idea of getting rid of Dabi’s pup on purpose.
“Stop being stupid! You know damn well how!”
“Oh I’m stupid?”
“That’s not what I mean.”
“No you’re right. I’m stupid for thinking you would be a good alpha!”
“Then leave!”
The two of you were screaming, nose to nose, glaring at each other, chests heaving. You were fighting back the tears and he was fighting back the urge to burn the place to the ground. You were sure the entire building heard your exchange, and if not they could probably pick up on it from the pungent sour smells emitting from both of you.
You were the first to break, tears spilling down your cheek as you pushed past him grabbing the boxes on the counter, stalking out of the room.
Dabi looked up at the ceiling, pushing his hands through his hair with a growl of frustration before he turned and took off after you.
“Leave me alone Dabi.” You spat his name with such venom that you were pretty sure a flower would wilt, but he didn’t listen.
Instead, he grabbed you by your waist, hoisting you up against the hallway wall making you drop the boxes and wrap your legs around him for stability. You couldn’t even get out a complaint before his lips crashed against yours roughly. You fought against him, trying to shove him off of you only for him to grip your wrists and slam them against the wall above you making you gasp. His tongue taking the initiative and forcing into your mouth only for you to angrily bite it, making his curse out before continuing to assault your lips with his, pressing you further against the wall to keep you from wiggling. You turned your head away breaking the connection only for a brief second whining out his name, asking for air, before his lips were on yours again, growing softer and softer as tears continued to stream down your cheeks. You weren’t even fighting anymore, too exhausted with everything.
At some point he had stopped kissing your lips and moved to pressing kisses all over your face whispering softly to you the whole time that he was sorry. He released your wrists, moving his hands to cup your face, wiping your tears away and pressing his forehead to yours, his voice low and vulnerable.
“I’m so sorry, please don’t leave.”
“Dabi-“
“I love you.”
You froze, staring up into his eyes that were focused on yours, the ones that looked absolutely wrecked, almost watery even. In all of your years knowing him, you had never seen Touya cry. Not even when you were younger and Endeavor made him do all that crazy training.
“You don’t have to take it if you don’t want to, we can figure it out, I’ll find-“
You pressed your lips against his softly, shushing him, your hands moving up to hold each side of his face like he did to you. You could feel him melt into your touch, relaxing at your affection, a soft purr rumbling through his chest. Your scent had dissipated being almost completely smoother by his own scent of cinnamon whiskey and cigarettes. A comfort smell for you.
After a moment you pulled away, purring softly back to him, pressing soft kisses against his check, your voice barely a whisper so no one else could hear.
“Touya, I love you more than anything in the world. I’m never going to leave you.”
“Promise?” His voice was still shaky, still so vulnerable sounding that it broke your heart into pieces. How could he even think you would leave him after everything? You had literally made a dying man suffer because he tried to hurt your alpha.
“I promise.”
He pressed another chaste kiss against your lips, and then another, and another, until you were giggling, writhing in his grasp.
“Can we go back to the room?” Your voice was still a soft whisper but it was growing almost whiney. He seemed to have relaxed now and now that you weren’t angry, you realized the position you were in and could feel yourself heating up.
“Hmm… why would you want to do that little mouse?” His lips moved down your jaw, nibbling softly on your bond mark when he reached it.
“I want to show you the nest…” You could feel a familiar burning feeling deep within you and couldn’t help but grind your hips against his, making a smirk grow on his face as he continued to kiss and nip down your neck. Damn fucking heat, you could barely have a nice moment of calm to yourself.
“Where did you end up putting it?” He seemed to be in no hurry, moving back up to your bond mark sucking on it making you moan softly at the attention. Even though it was still healing and bruised up it felt like you were on fire when he sunk his alpha’s fangs into your skin making the mark deeper. If he didn’t take you back to the room now you were going to combust.
“On the bed.” He pulled back giving you a quizzical look which you whined at, tugging his hair to try and bring him back to you.
“Where am I supposed to sleep?”
You gave him a pointed look which you were pretty sure looked more pleading than annoyed but it didn’t matter, the smile that spread across his face, that 1000 watt just for you Touya smile, let you know he understood.
“You’re going to let me in your nest?”
“Dabi if you don’t take me back to your room right now I’m going to fuck you in the hallway and I really rather have privacy.”
“Any thing for you Princess.”
---
It was several hours before either of you ended up getting out of bed, already early into the next morning, and part of you felt really bad for blowing Toga off like that, but you figured she would be willing to show you around later.
You had finally wiggled your way out of Dabi’s grasp, who was out like a light after the last day’s events. Once again you were truly shocked by his stamina. After making a quick trip to the bathroom you located the long-forgotten boxes that Dabi had barely had the mind to pickup before the two of you had retreated into your nest.
You pulled out the patches, reading the instructions on the box before pulling out the band-aid like patch, sticking it to your hip as directed for covering an omega’s heat. You couldn’t help but smile at the bruises that littered your body. The bite marks that covered you. He had really claimed every inch of you that there was. You didn’t think you would have been into that but with him, anything he did made you drool.
Placing the rest of the patches back into the box your eyes landed on the other box, the one that had been thrown into the otherwise empty trashcan.
You frowned, sighing softly to yourself as you pulled it out of the trashcan, reading the label carefully, tapping the box against your hand a few times in thought.
Dabi had been right before and you had known it. You both knew it would be the worse case scenario for you to end up pregnant right now. It could literally mean life or death for you. Finding you bonded pissed Endeavor off sure, but he would have believed that Dabi forced it on you and at least would have let you live, but if he found you pregnant? Endeavor could probably come up with an excuse… you got caught in the crossfire. Dabi used you as a human shield… it was such a tragic end for a defenseless omega… You can’t save them all. No one outside of the Todoroki household knew your quirk, it wouldn’t be hard to sell. They would believe anything Endeavor told them. Shoto would fight him but you weren’t sure that he could do anything to save you in that scenario. Not to mention being pregnant meant you needed a safe and secure place, one where you didn’t have to pack up and run all the time, one where you weren’t stressed. And the medical attention you would need… and what about when the baby comes? Did you want to raise a baby in the League? Did you want to raise a baby with the world the way it was?
No.
Now was not the time for settling down and raising a family. Now was the time to fight for your right to do so.
So, with a shaky breath, and tears building in your eyes, you took out the small white pill, putting it on your tongue and filling your hand with water from the tap.
It was a tough pill to swallow.

Demon Shit [Part 2]
I’m making this a whole ass series, we’re gonna call this the demon shit au or whatever, feel free to send in asks about it and stuff, and get ready for more parts!
| NSFW - no actual secs scene in this one
When you woke, you felt like you’d been hit by a train. You struggled to move, shifting a little and groaning. A light chuckle came from slightly above you and you pried your eyes open to look into Dabi’s cyan ones.
“Sore?” he teased, running his fingers through your hair. You gave him a look and he clasped his hand dramatically over his chest, “not the kicked puppy look, doll,” he pulled you close and inspected the bite on your neck, stroking along the marred skin carefully with his thumb before letting his hand rest on your shoulder.
“That doesn’t hurt anymore, right?” He asked, giving it a little tap. You craned your neck, reaching up to feel it yourself and finding only ridges like an old scar and not the gaping wound that it should be. You looked up at him, intrigued by the look of concern on his face, and shook your head.
“Good,” the corner of his mouth twitched up and he leaned in, placing a chaste kiss to your lips. You trailed your fingers lightly along his bare chest, skin catching on the metal of his staples.
“Do these hurt?” You asked, meeting his eyes again. He gave you an expression you couldn’t read.
“Yeah, but not to the touch,” he paused, “They’re sort of like a punishment. I’m not as nice to everyone as I am to you, little sacrifice,” he teased, half-smiling and planting another soft kiss to your forehead. You felt you shouldn’t press the matter, settling back into bed and burying your face in his chest.
He hummed, stroking your hair for a minute before giving your back a pat and detaching you from himself, standing and opening the curtains. The lighting outside hadn’t changed at all in the hours you’d spent in the house. He stretched, and your eyes moved across the taught muscles in his back and arms.
When he turned to face you again he materialized the same outfit he’d had on yesterday. He helped you stand, shaking a bit and clutching the soft, white bed sheet around your body. He sighed,
“Shit. Shouldn’t have ripped your dress,” he muttered, looking down at your little sheet-clad form.
“Can’t you make clothes?” You asked, giving the sleeve of his jacket a little tug. He shook his head,
“Nope. I can only do that to myself. Technically speaking they’re not real. And I can only do a couple things,” his hand curled under his chin, one finger tapping against his jaw. “It’s fine,” he said, ruffling your hair, “You just stay here for a bit and I’ll be right back, okay? Take another nap or bath or something.”
You shook your head, grasping his sleeve again tightly, “Don’t leave me here by myself,” you felt a lump form in your throat at the thought. This place wasn’t even real if your assumption of what a “pocket dimension” was was correct.
“It’s safe, sweetness,” he cooed, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You shook your head, tears welling in your eyes as you pleaded with him with your expression. He tutted at you, giving your forehead a light flick.
“Less than an hour. Promise,” two fingers tilted your chin up as he leaned down, swiping his forked tongue along your lip and flicking it into your mouth when you opened for him, followed by his lips meeting yours. He groaned softly against you before pulling away, wiping away the strands of saliva that followed.
“Be right back,” he trailed his thumb down your cheek, planting one more brief kiss to your temple, and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. You followed, opening the door to find him gone.
With a little shiver, you pulled the sheet up around you tighter, bunching up the material so it wouldn’t drag behind as you explored the house. You went down the stairs, wincing as several places on your abused body flared in pain, and padded through a little sitting room. The whole house was like a doll’s house, and everything downstairs seemed to be fake. The sinks didn’t work and the fridge didn’t open, and you quickly grew bored, deciding to take Dabi’s advice and have another bath.
Entering the room he’d ...had you in, you took in the sight of the disgusting bed. The blankets were bunched in various places, shredded in others, and the whole thing had pools and specks of blood, sweat, and cum on it. Your sacrificial dress was in shreds in the corner. You awkwardly turned away, into the attached bathroom.
You dropped the sheet in front of the mirror as you gasped at your reflection. Your hair was a mess, and your body was covered in bruises and scratches, mostly hand-shaped or matching the spacing of his staples. You hadn’t even noticed them scraping along your skin, but they definitely had. The bite he’d left looked like an old scar. You noticed your lips were a little swollen, too, and not just the ones on your face.
Starting the bath, you tried to comb through your hair with your fingers and splashed a little cold water from the sink on your face. You sat on the edge of the tub, blankly staring into space. Was this a dream? You knew the witch meant business, she’d told you if you fucked up her ritual she’d kill you and she definitely meant it. You laughed in spite of yourself at the thought. You’d fucked up the ritual and then fucked her demon.
Lowering yourself into the hot water you sighed, stretching and letting it soothe your sore muscles. You wondered what it meant to be a sacrifice. What did he mean when he said he was going to “keep you”? There was too much to try to sift through, so you pushed it all to the back of your mind and decided it didn’t matter. He clearly didn’t have any intentions of killing you or he’d have done it. And at least some part of him seemed to care about you. Your face burned whenever you tried to place your own feelings, though.
What you thought was roughly half an hour later you heard movement in the house. Feeling shy you grabbed the sheet off the floor and pulled it over the top of the tub, covering most of the rim. The footsteps stopped outside the door and Dabi knocked, opening the door without waiting for a response.
“Got you something to wear, little sacrifice,” he held up a bag from a store you’d never heard of, setting it aside and crouching beside you, “What’s this for?” He trailed his finger under the sheet, raising a brow at you. You felt your cheeks heat up and sank further into the water. He chuckled, grabbing the sheet as he stood and holding it out for you to use as a towel, keeping his eyes on yours.
You begrudgingly stood, cold air making goosebumps raise on your skin. Dabi wrapped the sheet around you and helped you out of the tub, rubbing the fabric over you to dry you off.
“So shy,” he taunted, running a thumb along your cheek affectionately. “I know I fucked you stupid earlier but you remember me seeing you naked, right?” He crouched, bunching the sheet up and drying your legs. Eye level with your hips, he reached and gently dragged a finger along your puffy, still sore folds, making you whimper.
“Poor little thing,” he withdrew his hand, placing a brief kiss to your pussy that made your breath hitch before reaching for the bag and rustling through it and producing a white dress, similar to the one he’d ripped off you, “We’re doing another ritual. The dress isn’t necessary but it’s traditional and you looked so cute in the first one.”
You stepped in, using his shoulder for support, and he pulled the soft material up your body until it was settled in place. It was very similar to the first one, but made out of sturdier material. You shifted a little, squeezing your thighs together uncomfortably.
“Um, Dabi?” Your brows knitted together as you looked up at him. He hummed in response, shifting through a different shopping bag, “Could I have some other stuff to wear with this? Like under it? And shoes…?” You trailed off, trying not to sound ungrateful for what he’d already given you. He gave you a wink,
“I’ve got ya, doll,” he lifted your feet one at a time, guiding them through the lace panties, pulling them up around your hips and giving the waistband a little snap. You stepped into the stockings he held up next, his hands gliding up your legs as he fixed them for you, planting a soft kiss on each knee as he finished.
“Why are you dressing me and stuff?” The question came out quiet and nervous as he pulled the dress down to affix a bralette around your chest.
“I take good care of my things,” he murmured, kissing the top of your head as he fixed your sleeves back into place. He reached into one of the bags and pulled out a long black coat, draping it around your shoulders. Pulling out a pair of boots and helping you step in, he tied the laces for you as you spoke,
“What are you going to do with me? After we summon your friend?” You fidgeted with the hem of your dress, not looking directly at him as he stood, adjusting the coat on your shoulders.
“Sacrifices usually live in pocket dimensions like this one. Sometimes their demons will let them stay in what you’d call the real world, but they can’t visit as often like that so it’s not as popular,” he explained, tilting your chin up to look at him, “I’m going to keep you in a bigger pocket and you’re going to live there. I’m also gonna use you to summon my friends and they’ll be able to visit you. You don’t have to do anything, just keep a couple demons happy for a few thousand years.”
Your eyes widened and his hand wrapped around your shoulders to stabilize you.
“Thousand?” You gasped, gripping his wrist and gaping up at him. He laughed, flicking your forehead as he’d done earlier,
“Yeah. Thousand. You’ll live as long as I do so probably another six thousand or so,” he pressed his lips to the spot he’d flicked, clearly amused at your shock, “So,” he continued nonchalantly, “Time to go.” His fingers threaded through yours as he pulled you out of the bathroom and down the stairs.
Once you stepped through the front door with him the pocket dimension was gone and you’d stepped into a busy street, struggling to keep up with Dabi’s fast pace as he dragged you behind him. You tugged on his hand to try to get him to slow down, but he just tugged back, making you stumble a little. Pulling you off to the side he lifted you onto his back, continuing down the street quickly, weaving through the crowds of people easily.
“What’s your friend’s name?” You asked, resting your head on his shoulder.
“Tomura,” he paused for a second, “he’s… not as used to people as I am. Women especially. Just, uh, be aware of that,” he finished, still sounding unsure of his words. You tensed a little and he rubbed his thumbs gently along your thighs as he supported them.
The streets became less crowded as he carried you, eventually setting you down and holding your hand as you maneuvered through desolate alleys. You came to what looked like the back door to a business and Dabi entered, pulling you in behind him before slamming the door shut and leaving you both in darkness.

MY MAIN MASTERLIST
Y/n gasped, the pain was rippling from her chest now, ricocheting through her muscles as she collapsed on her bedroom floor. She could already guess his next words.
‘We’re leaving.’
***
The past couple of months had been glorious. Following the disaster that was the ending to y/n’s junior year where she somehow managed to get tangled up in a high speed car chase with a vampire named Victoria (who had promptly taken her hostage in order to track down y/n’s best friend Bella) - things had begun to look up.
Her infatuation with the town’s local medi-hero Carlisle Cullen had surprisingly taken off, after of course he revealed himself of being a 300 year-old vampire who had a taste for bunnies. Most days she met up with him at his mansion in her brand-new white Ford Bronco, that which Carlisle had bought specifically to save her life and, following the destruction of her own car, decided to gift her - that was an interesting conversation with her parents.
Of course that accident hadn’t just left her with a beautiful new mechanic baby but also some battle scars. The largest of which was a crescent white line arching over her left brow, not to mention the faded lines circling her waist. Her arms had healed up nice enough, the rope had caused them to double in size as blue and green bruises splotched on the surface for the first few weeks but they eventually died down. The story went that after being in a lot of stress and anxiety y/n had lost sight of the road and crashed into a car and it was stunning how no one thought to question it.
It was difficult being around her personal doctor for the first few days after the crash. So often would she catch him staring mournfully at her scar and bound hands, evidentially blaming himself for her battered state. Y/n spent most of the time convincing him she was fine and reminding him that she would go through so much worse to be where she was today.
And where she was, was a few weeks into her affair, unbeknown to all apart from Carlisle’s family and Bella. Together, Carlisle and her would often circle around the endless abyss of wood and glass that was the Cullen house, or drift up and down the small forest of a garden they had out back. Talking, always talking.
Carlisle was fascinated by every aspect of her previously thought mundane life. She could watch as he made mental notes of her favourite bands and books, what colleges she wanted to go to, her dream job. Y/n so often hated talking about herself but only because she felt that her life paled in comparison to that of Carlisle’s. He had of course explained his entire existence to her, right from its origins in 17th century London, and yet there was still so much he mentioned off-hand that left y/n floored.
Of course with the cat being out the bag, y/n’s and Bella’s friendship felt like it was flourishing for the second time. Now Bella was able to be honest with why she had been so distant, she didn’t have to lie when she explained the intensity of her and Edward’s relationship or why she kept disappearing with him after school. Y/n was able to confine to her about her relationship with Carlisle, about the way he always seemed to be looking at her through his soft amber eyes and the way he was so comfortable in touching her. Constantly brushing his fingers over her wrist or stroking her hair out of her face. All in all y/n had never been happier, of course until Bella’s tragic 18th.
***
For a night that would be so monumental to y/n’s life it seemed strange she wasn’t even present. Her parents had somehow dragged her on a holiday in Florida. And after giving Bella her early birthday present and a promise to Carlisle that she would be careful, she hadn’t thought much more of her time away. She spent most of the time on the beaches, reading and reliving all her memories with the doctor.
He had kissed her only a few nights ago. It came quite literally out of the blue. She was only stopping by his house to pick-up Edward’s copy of ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ when he was at the door waiting for her he seemed somewhat disturbed, as though he had had a rough day at the hospital. She had smiled at him as she got out and he in turn had pattered down the front steps.
“Hi.” Was all she managed to get out before he had caught her lips in his, his body flushed against hers as she was pushed against the car.
“Sorry.” He whispered breathlessly when the kiss had unfortunately come to a close and he rested his forehead against hers, gently rocking her in his arms. “I couldn’t wait any longer.”
Yet she couldn’t stay on holiday forever and inevitably she returned to the mess that was life back at Forks. When she got home the first thing she wanted to do was see Bella, to ask her about her birthday, if Alice got her that necklace y/n helped pick out, but Charlie was no help.
“I’m sorry y/n...” He looked incredibly stressed. His shirt old and stained his hair sticking up at the back, heavy set bags hanging below his eyes. “Bella...she’s...she’s not good right now.”
Y/n assumed Bella had come down with something and so she shrugged it off, blaming Charlie’s appearance on well, Charlie stuff. It was the next day at school when things started to feel really wrong, when the pain began to dig it’s hole.
***
“You looking for the Cullens?” Angela asked. Y/n snapped her head around, embarrassed that she had been caught glaring at the completely empty table near the back of the cafeteria. She would have never guessed it was related to Bella’s illness.
“Something happen?” Y/n tried to appear disinterested, picking at her food. It was September and not sunny so it didn’t make sense for them to be away perhaps they were in need of a feed or maybe they had family business...
“Yeah, they moved away.”
Angela said it like someone would talk about the weather and yet she might as well have leaned across the table and shoved her fork through y/n’s chest.
“What?” The word squeaked out. Y/n felt the colour drain from her face.
“The dad...you know the doctor one...well apparently he got some big time job offer down in California and...”
Angela’s words dissolved into the air, muffled by some invisible blanket. Distantly y/n was aware of her arms going limp, her fork clattering out of her hands as her body tingled numbly underneath her. The worst feeling was the shortness of breath, the way air couldn’t seem to move through her lungs anymore as her chest was weighed down with what felt like a sphere of lead.
The rest of the day couldn’t pass slowly enough. In history it seemed like y/n was watching the clock forever her mind racing a million miles an hour. Surely they hadn’t left properly, Carlisle couldn’t leave without saying goodbye at least. No, it had to have something to do with vampirism, maybe an old friend called or maybe they were in danger, 5 more minutes then gym and then she would find out.
In the end she decided to skip gym altogether jumping in her car and racing home, still in her daze. She needed to see Bella and then she would head up to the Cullen’s, there was no way they had really moved away. Maybe it was just so the humans weren’t getting suspicious, a strange feeling pulled at y/n’s gut as she remembered that technically, she was a part of the ‘humans’ or supposed to be at least.
“Charlie is Bella in?”
“I’m sorry y/n-”
She pushed past him, muttering an apology as she went but Charlie appeared too exhausted to stop her. Turning left she raced up the stairs two at a time before exploding into Bella’s room, she would know from Bella, she would get her answer.
Bella sat on her bed, her face white, her eyes glossed over. She didn’t even look at y/n as she walked in.
“Bella?” Y/n’s voice was shaky, the tears already bubbling in her throat. She knew deep down that she already had her answer. “Bella?”
Finally she turned to her, but there was no recognition. Nothing. Complete emptiness behind her eyes as she stared back for a few seconds before her eyes flickered forward.
Y/n left, apologising to Charlie under her breath as she jumped back in her car. But it was too late, the pain had already settled in her chest, her mind was already convinced. They were gone. He had left. Without even saying goodbye.
It was inescapable now, it spread like fire across her body, consuming her whole. She tried to start up her car but her body doubled over and she grit her teeth in pain. It had begun.
***
She didn’t know where to go, what to do. Most of her wanted to go to the Cullen’s house but she already knew it was most likely empty, devoid of all life. Could she really handle that?
Y/n went to start up her car when she realised that this car was all Carlisle had given her besides her own memories. She raced out of it, turning away from the sight of it and running into her house.
When she got to her room she shut her curtains with so much vigour a few hooks snapped off the edge, she knew she would see the pale car in her drive if she left it open. Before she knew it she was crying, trying desperately to control her emotions before they consumed her whole. Then she saw it.
Resting on her bedside table was an ivory note with her name etched onto the page in rich navy ink.
‘Dearest y/n l’n,’
A letter. He had left her a letter. She opened it carefully, if what she assumed was true this, as well as her car, might be all she had left of him; her sobs still hiccuping in her throat, she raced her eyes over his calligraphy. Five paragraphs. That was all. Five paragraphs loosely explaining how Edward was in a rough place, how people were judging Carlisle for his youth, how he needed to put his family first - five paragraphs.
Y/n gasped, the pain was rippling from her chest now, ricocheting through her muscles as she collapsed on her bedroom floor. She could already guess his next words, the words to conclude the letter.
‘We’re leaving.’
The worst feeling was when she read ‘we’, she knew from this word alone she was to understand that Carlisle did not group her with his family. The letter gave no insinuation that he was deeply sorry for their departure, or that he would in any way return at all. How, in the space of a few hours, could her world be turned completely inside out?
She went from giddily planning a small future with Carlisle to believing he had never cared for her at all. If he did, it certainly wasn’t as much as she had cared for him. Another wave of pain beat her down. She was just a stupid kid with a crush. Another wave. She was a fool, an embarrassment to assume that he wanted her even half as much as she wanted him.
Her tears got too much then, the letter shaking out her hands as the pain, now unbridled, exploded out of her. The waves of heartbreak crashing into her again and again, her stifled screams bouncing off her walls and ringing back in her ears, haunting her with her own pain.
He was gone, and he had taken her heart with him.
***
“Y/n we’re worried about you.”
“Don’t be.” Y/n laughed loudly, pushing her untouched pasta around on her plate. Angela glanced at her through tense eyes. “I already have a mum, Angela.” The words came out harsher than she meant to, not that she cared.
“But seriously, Mack?” Angela whispered, her voice low so the others wouldn’t hear. Y/n rolled her eyes.
“We’re not a thing, we just hang out and he...helps me out.”
“He’s a druggie.” Her voice was low, accusing, incredulous. Another roll of y/n’s eyes.
“Duh Angela. What do you think I meant by ‘helping me out’.” Angela just shook her head disappointed. Y/n didn’t care, she couldn’t. Technically sitting at that lunch table on that Friday she was still coming down from her high this morning, her brain soft and fuzzed around the edges and, most importantly, the pain in her chest non existent.
The drug scene in Forks was nothing to be impressed by. It was only by luck that y/n had met Mack, a guy a few years out of high school who had never made it to college. Y/n was pretty sure he was crushing on her but she didn’t mind exploiting that a little if it meant she got high for free.
It had been four months since they had left. They might as well have taken Bella with them considering she was a shell of a human being: unresponsive, uncooperative. There was nothing behind her eyes, just like the day y/n had come searching for her. That had been one of the last times y/n had stepped foot in the Swan house. Partly because y/n’s new found drug habits wouldn’t go down well with Chief Charlie Swan, partly because y/n couldn’t stand the sight of Bella.
The emptiness, the hollowness, the pain. It was just a reminder to y/n of what was waiting for her the day she became sober. In the beginning, after a few days of wallowing in the pain, feeling as though she were unable to move, y/n had forced herself to go to the beach where she had ran into a bunch of La Push boys. They were smoking green and it was clearly their first time, they called out and invited y/n over clearly expecting that she wouldn’t accept.
But she surprised both them and herself by walking over. After sitting and smoking them with a bit she found herself smiling and laughing at their jokes as her head became warmer and fuzzier, moreover, the pain of his abandonment warmed into nothingness. She had asked them where they got the weed and they had pointed her in the direction of Mack.
“Down for tonight?”
Y/n read the text as it flashed across her screen.
“You bet :)″
She sent back. Two more lessons and then her high could be refreshed and the cycle could continue.
***
Y/n gasped as she awoke. Nightmares had been more common the past week. They were a regular occurrence when he had first left but going to bed high had always numbed it out. But recently his ivory skin and ribbons of muscles were becoming clearer through the haze.
Rolling over in the dark with some desperation she flicked on her phone and dialled his number.
“Hey Mack, I just called cause-”
“You have a bad high?” He murmured over the phone, distantly she could hear his TV playing in the background. She could picture him, half-dressed surrounded by trash as he got himself high for the third time today. Y/n pushed the image away - no, I’m not like that. It’s different for me, I have a reason.
“Yeah.” She muttered, “I just didn’t know who to call.”
“Usually bad highs are a sign you’ve been smoking too much.” She had basically been smoking consistently for four months now and if she wasn’t smoking she was drunk and if she wasn’t drunk then the pain began to settle.
“Ugh, are you going to tell me I have to stop?” She laughed quietly over the phone, trying to cover the slight desperation in her voice. Distantly she was aware of her parents sleeping in the next room, it was stupid, she was eighteen now and it felt as though she had been through enough trauma to move out, to get away from school. On the other hand school seemed to be the only thing holding her together now.
“No, you don’t need to stop smoking but maybe try something else?” He asked nonchalantly.
“Something else?”
“I stock more than green but it’ll have to be sooner rather than later.”
“Sooner?” Y/n murmured robotically. She had bought enough to get her through the week.
“This weekend?” He asked, almost as if he read her mind.
“See you then...your place?” She rolled over in the dark.
“See you then?” She could hear the enormous grin settle on his lips and it sent a shiver down her spine - she hung up. She had promised herself to never do anything more serious than weed but now she was faced with an ultimatum: break her promise or embrace the darkness.
***
“Hi Mack.” Y/n smiled when he opened the door, he didn’t say anything just grinned and stood to the side letting y/n into his dingy apartment. Y/n had used the same lie to her parents that she used whenever she came here - that she was sleeping over at Angela's. Not that they ever checked.
Of course she wasn’t sleeping over at Mack’s, to be honest she didn’t trust him enough for that, normally she left late and would drive her car up to the Cullens house, it wasn’t too far and the road was easy enough to follow when intoxicated. It was the only time was she was able to wander around the house without feeling any guilt or remorse.
Mack’s place was tiny, made worse by the clutter and rubbish. A small corridor lead to a small living room which the tiniest of kitchens looked out into. Mack had a strip of lights around the top of the ceiling that were constantly flashing multi-coloured as loud obnoxious music played, somewhat muffled in the smoke.
“Hey y/n.” Danny, Mack’s roommate, smiled from the couch, clearly already lost.
“Hey Dan.” She smiled before collapsing at his feet, her knees propped against the coffee table where booze and skins cluttered the surface.
“You’re in for a treat.” He slurred, his arms limp by his sides as his eyes flickered back and forth, his mouth ajar. Y/n felt somewhat excited at the sight of him, so out of his head - this excitement no longer frightened her.
“He’s not lying.” Mack laughed, full of energy as he jumped up and grabbed something off the kitchen counter before holding it in front of her face. A small white square was compressed in the middle of a tiny plastic bag. “These things pack a punch.” He laughed, y/n laughed. “You’re still down to do this right? I’m not going to pressure you or anything.” He said, and for a moment it looked like he was actually concerned for her.
Y/n thought seriously about it for a moment. There was nothing stopping her from getting up and walking out, telling him that it was a mistake to come here, even just telling him that she’ll run the risk of sticking to green. Except the weed wasn’t enough anymore, she was realising that. To keep him away she would have to go further, and she was more than willing. It seemed somewhat funny, that to escape her doctor she had to pollute herself.
“Of course.” Y/n heard her voice laugh as she shuffled out of her jacket and pulled her hair out from it’s knot. If Mack and Danny could, she could.
“Awesome.” He grinned before sitting down on the coffee table in front of her so that her head was somewhat between his knees. “This is how you take it.” He said, clearly enjoying being a ‘teacher’. Y/n could see him properly then.
Mack was in his early-twenties, the same age he was supposed to be. A short brown beard tufted around his jaw whilst shoulder length brown hair was pulled into a low pony at the back of his head. He was sweet really, just lost.
“Stick your tongue out.” Y/n obliged, picking up on the moment of tension as he placed the white square on her tongue with his forefinger. She felt no guilt as she lapped her tongue back into her mouth slowly, gazing into his dark eyes as his finger rested on her bottom lip.
The rest of the night was a blurry mess; mistakes were definitely made and y/n was definitely going to have to find a new dealer. It was strange how that night only happened because she was so desperate to escape Carlisle Cullen, and yet for most of it, it was his icy face that she was picturing instead of Mack’s.
***
Weeks had passed and y/n’s drug exploration was starting to get a little out of control. She was sure her parents were picking up on her strange behaviours: never home at weekends, always fidgeting, bleary eyed and always tired. Perhaps she was just being paranoid, Mack said that could be one of the side effects.
But it was lucky she was high one specific Friday as she parked her car outside Mack’s apartment complex. She glared at the Bronco, she had seen Bella ripping the radio (Emmett’s gift to Bella) out of her own truck, removing all traces of the Cullen family’s existence. It wasn’t so easy for y/n.
She was thinking of him again. It had been quite obsessive these past few days and that’s why when she first saw him, leaning against his black Mercedes in the shadows, she couldn’t quite believe her eyes.
“What the hell.” She was so sure she was hallucinating, she blinked fiercely.
“Y/n.” He said her name and she felt her eyes flutter closed, how good it felt to hear her name dripping from his lips. She wasn’t aware she had memorised his voice so well. She audibly hummed in response to the sound before snapping herself out of it and ignoring his form. Mack was just upstairs with something new to try and then he would go away. “Y/n.” He said her name again as though he were sure she hadn’t heard him.
Y/n ignored it. The sweetness of his presence was quickly turning sour, and the corners of the hole in her chest were beginning to sting.
“Y/n, it’s me.” That stopped her. From the corner of her eye she could see him step out of the shadows, his pale skin iridescent in the street light. He looked unsure, pleading, desperate. “Y/n.”
“No.” She gasped suddenly. There was no more guessing, she couldn’t even try to deny that it was truly him. She stumbled slightly in the street and he was by her side in a second. When she was stable in his arms he held a lock of her hair between his fingers inhaling deeply. “Your blood smells different.” He murmured. She had forgotten what it was like to be around people who could move so quickly. “Y/n, what have you been putting in your body?”
“Leave me alone.” She murmured, her head still fuzzy and numb from the sight of him. Was it a dream? No it couldn’t be. As she got over her shock, anger pooled in her gut.
“Are you high?” His eyes were confused and worried.
“If I am what would you do about it?” She smirked. “You have no right to critique my lifestyle.”
“Your lifestyle?” He asked somewhat incredulously, his eyes were slowly melting darker and darker. “Poisoning yourself with LSD is a lifestyle for you?”
“It’s a coping mechanism.” She spat suddenly. “To deal with the pain that you left me with.” That shut him up.
“I would’ve never left if I knew you would do this.” He grimaced. Wrong move.
“Stop!” She gasped suddenly, her arm snatching to her gut where she was sure the pain would brim over. She thought seeing him again would melt her troubles away, instead his presence seemed to intensify them. “Stop talking like you get a say in what I do! You lost that privileged the day you left! Left with nothing but a stupid note Carlisle!”
“I left to protect you. I didn’t want to cause you pain. Remember Victoria?” Was all he could say in response.
“Victoria...” Y/n spat. “What Victoria did to me pales in comparison to what you did. You’re the one whose hurt me the most Carlisle. Do you understand?”
She was still in shock at the sight of him. A million questions were racing through her head but none of them seemed as important now. Her shouting must have alerted someone’s presence because she heard movement near the apartment steps as someone walked up to them.
“Are you okay?” It was Mack but he seemed a million miles away now, unimportant.
“Are you her dealer?” Carlisle strode forward, his voice pure steel.
“Carlisle stop it!” She spat, jumping forward and pushing against his stony chest but it was like trying to move a mountain.
“Are you the one that did this to her?” Carlisle ignored her, still towering over Mack.
“You did this to me!” She suddenly exploded. Carlisle was past listening.
“If I ever see you near her again. I will break you myself, I promise.” His voice was calm meditated, as if every word had weight.
“What are you, her boyfriend?” Mack asked venomously. “Well then maybe I should let you in on a secret.”
“Mack shut up.” Y/n felt fear bubble into her throat. Sure she could swear in that moment she hated Carlisle but that’s all it was, a moment. There was no point in ruining her future.
“Your girlfriend ain’t too loyal.” Mack drawled out, a coy smirk slipping on his lips as he rocked back and forth on his toes. Carlisle tensed. “At least...she wasn’t last night.”
An animalistic snarl snapped from of Carlisle lips like a whip and within the second he had Mack pinned against the bonnet of a car. Then, just as quickly as he moved, he remembered himself. Letting Mack drop Carlisle’s breath heaved before he turned and stalked towards his car without sparing y/n so much as a glance. Always the pacifist.
“Carlisle.” She called, rushing after him but Mack caught her elbow.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were in a relationship?” He asked and if y/n wasn’t mistaken he sounded somewhat heartbroken, all his previous anger evaporating.
“I’m not.” Y/n gasped struggling to get out of his grip.
“You’re in something.” He murmured, letting her go.
“I’m sorry Mack, I really am. I’ll...call you.” The words were falling over her shoulder as she escaped, but he was already gone and distantly she could hear his Mercedes ripping into the night as he drove away.
***
“It’s not his fault.”
“I don’t need this right now Edward.” After jumping into her Bronco y/n had followed Carlisle’s black Mercedes back to his house. During the drive she couldn’t decide whether her anger was riling up or fizzing into the air and thus, nothingness. He had been so close, she had put her hands against his chest, he was right there.
“Please I just...” Edward’s eyes were tentative as he blocked her path on the house steps, “It’s my fault why we even left, all he was trying to do was be a good father to me.”
“And you think that’s and excuse?”
“No, of course not.” He added hurriedly. “It’s just, I love him, and I know he loves you. Please don’t walk away from him.”
“Walk away?” Y/n gasped, angry tears pricking behind her eyes. “I never wanted to walk away. I never even considered it. You were the ones who left and you took everything with you.” Tears spilled and she hurriedly wiped them away. Edward grimaced. Y/n took her opportunity and stormed past him into the house. To her surprise there stood Rosalie and Emmett; a few hours ago and she would have run into their arms laughing, overjoyed to see her friends again.
“Where is he?” Was all she spat and to her surprise they looked somewhat intimidated as they pointed loosely in the direction of the kitchen. She stormed past them and up the stairs swinging a right to find Carlisle waiting for her, leaning over the counter his head in his hands, he glanced at her.
“Y/n I-” He began.
“Shut up.” Was all she said. Distantly she was aware that Emmett and Rosalie had followed her along with Edward. At the far window she saw movement and assumed Jasper and Alice had come to see what the fuss is about. “You had your chance to talk the day you left but you chose not to, so, what you’re going to do is you’re going to sit in that chat, patiently, whilst I stand her and say what I got to say...understand?”
Carlisle stood now, an internal battle dancing behind his eyes as he glanced from y/n to his family. Y/n was aware of them staring now, watching the leader of their family, the alpha male be challenged, all tentative to see what he would do next. Slowly and with weight, Carlisle walked a few paces before he slid down into a chair, leaning forward and resting on his knees as he looked up at y/n through his lashes. This sent a tremor through the family and within the blink of an eye they were all gone, giving Carlisle and y/n their privacy.
“Carlisle...” Now she was here, she wasn’t quite sure what to say. “I am...sorry...about Mack and what we...” She trailed off, maybe it was not the best idea to start with this. “But you can’t judge me. You just can’t.”
“I know.” He whispered, his brows furrowing apologetically.
“All this...the drugs, Mack, everything, all of it’s just me trying to cope. And it’s not an excuse but-”
“Please don’t apologise.” Carlisle whispered and within the second he was standing in front of her cupping her cheeks in his hands and brushing his thumb under her right eye. “Never apologise.” He kissed her forehead. “You did nothing wrong.” He kissed her nose. It seemed like he went to go kiss her lips but he hovered, as if he remembered himself and he pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against hers.
“I’m sorry for the way I behaved. It was foolish and embarrassing of me.” He decided to say. “Back at the apartments. It’s just...”
“Just what?” Y/n murmured, now in a daze.
“I could smell it.”
“What?”
“Your scent...on him. On his neck, his shirt. Deep down I already knew what had happened but then hearing him...say it...and gloat.” His teeth gritted.
“If it’s any consolation, if I knew you were coming back I would have never-”
“But you didn’t know I was coming back. Because I left you here with nothing.” He was talking to himself now. “I...” He began. “I knew I was hurting you the day I left, the idea alone tormented me for months but I kept lying to myself, telling myself I would put you in more danger, more pain if I came back. But seeing the reality of what I had done to you, coming back to your blood smelling different and...” He trailed off.
“I know.” Y/n filled the silence, overwhelmed now at the feeling of him flushed against her body.
“I’ve got to hand it to Edward.” He chuckled to himself. “He’s more persuasive than he looks.” They stood like that for a moment, just comfortable at being able to be around one another again before y/n scrunched up her eyes.
“God, I've just been so caught up in being angry at you that I don’t think it’s really settled that you’re here. I feel like I’m going to wake up and this is just going to be a cruel dream.”
“I’m not going anywhere.” He cut her off gently, his eyes steely. “Not because I’m afraid of what you’ll do to yourself if I leave, not because you necessarily need me. But because...I don’t know how many chances I’m going to get to love someone like this.” He chuckled slightly. “And I mean, I have an eternity stretched out in front of me...but to love someone the way I love you...completely and utterly and with every piece of my heart and soul...”
His words fizzled into the air, the greater meaning behind them understood by them and only them.
“I’m sorry about Mack.” They were swaying slightly now, as if there were some soft unheard music. “He’s sweet...and he’s just lost...I guess I was for while.”
“As long as it was...consensual.” Surprisingly this made y/n laugh, a noise he had missed with his whole soul.
“Let’s not talk about it anymore.”
And they didn’t. From an outsiders perspective no one could have guessed anything was ever wrong between y/n and Carlisle. Just as before things gently shifted back into place, old routines were picked up and recent habits died out. Carlisle made good on his promise, he spent the rest of eternity doing everything in his power to make y/n happy, for that was all that mattered for him.
“To love someone the way I love you.” Became their phrase. Before long journeys apart, before what felt like impending doom when it came to Victoria, or the Voultri. He murmured it to her before she slept and shouted it after her car when she pulled away - an ode to their relationship, and all that they had been through. Y/n and Carlisle, the Dinosaur and the Vampire.

I Got Your Message
Bokuto, Kageyama, Nishinoya when their s/o sends them dirty pictures/messages when other people are around.
Bokuto Koutarou x Reader
Kageyama Tobio x Reader
Nishinoya Yuu x Reader
Here you go Anon~~ I was going to make this smutty because you know how I be moving but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I like seeing these dorks all flustered and acting like the little freaks they are hehe!
WC- 1,542
~~~
Bokuto Koutarou
Bokuto would be sooo excited, like a hyper bouncing up and down with excitement
I mean who wouldn’t act that way when they know they’re going to get their dick wet?
His gold eyes would light up and he would stare at his phone with a big smile on his face like ohhh say less
Bokuto is the type to not be subtle at all like he will stare at you with his full chest, waiting for you to look back at him
Of course, this will gain the attention of others,,,,
“Bokuto, are you alright?” Akaashi is such a sweetie
“Airhead why are you staring at (Y/N) like you’re going to mount them any second?” Very subtle Kuroo,,, that earns him a hard slap upside the head by Kenma
Bokuto would have no shame in just grabbing your wrist and dragging you away from everyone
Everyone in the room would be able to pick up on what is going down….
That’s the grace of Bokuto Koutarou~
You watch as Bokuto glances down at his phone when he hears it vibrate with a notification. Bokuto is the type to be like ‘why did you text me’ in a room full of people, headass, so you hope he would just open it instead. To your surprise he did and you can’t help the heat that creeps onto your face at his reaction. At first he looks surprised, shocked, and furrows his thick eyebrows at the screen.
Once he reads the filthy text a few times, a large grin takes up his face. He turns to look at you and raises an eyebrow, almost as if he is asking you serious? Bokuto goes back to his phone and looks at the text one more time before shoving the device in his pocket. He rolls his large shoulders back and stands tall and proud amongst his friends. Kuroo glances at him and notices his arrogant stance, he nudges his blonde friend and Kenma glances up from his own phone.
The pudding head’s face pinches as he stares at the ace but Kenma shakes his head and goes back to his phone. Even Akaashi has picked up on Bokuto’s happy mood and looks at him carefully.
“You are really happy, Bokuto?” Akaashi tries to state but it ends up being a question.
“Yup!” He answers back with enough excitement to make Kenma flinch.
“Why?” Akaashi carefully asks and Bokuto simply shrugs, to his three friends it looks like Bokuto is going to explode any minute. Kuroo notices the way he keeps glancing at you, not at all in a subtle way, and he narrows his eyes towards the horned owl bastard.
“(Y/N) looks really pretty today.” Kuroo comments and Bokuto nods with a proud look on his face, Kenma glances at his friend and pinches Kuroo’s elbow.
Bokuto walks away from them without a second glance and over to the edge of the gym. He wraps his hand around your wrist and drags you towards the locker rooms, but not before flashing his friends a peace sign and cheeky grin. Leaving no room to wonder just exactly what you two are about to do.
“I fucking hate it here.” Kenma mutters and Akaashi sighs in agreement, all while Kuroo is tearing up proudly.
Kageyama Tobio
Flustered mess, Kageyama becomes a flustered mess
He'd be like the guy who stares really hard at his phone and just stops breathing the entire time
When he finally looks away from the screen and glances at you, he’d take in a BIG breath of fresh air
Kageyama would turn sooo red, heheh omg
He’d be so stiff with his movements and would keep darting his eyes from you to his phone, almost like he didn’t believe you sent it
In his mind he’s like ,,,,, no thoughts except don’t get a boner don’t get a boner
But then you have Hinata and Tsukishima who pick up on his tense form and be like
“Why are you so red Kageyama?”
“What’s with that ugly look on your face? Oh wait, you always look like that.”
Kageyama would try to be subtle with his movements, like he’d tilt his head towards a closet so that you would follow him but then end up running into a pillar or wall after he walks away…. He tries, the sweet boy does try
Kageyama stares down at his phone, his gaze is hard and his lips are pressed together as he looks at the dirty photo you sent him. He has to calm himself down and try not to look at you, but he can’t help it. His eyes snap up to yours and he is met with a gorgeous smirk on your face.
The setter blinks owlishly and looks back down at his phone, why the hell did you send him this? Did he do something wrong, there is no context at all. It’s just a photo of you decked out in lace and it is making his head spin.
He can feel the confines of his shorts tighten and he has to close his eyes to try to calm himself down. Okay, okay, he needs to get out of there. Preferably with you.
“You taking a nap or something?” Hinata jumps in front of him, waving his hands in front of his face to get his attention. “Let’s go play cup pong, loser!” Kageyama looks around the backyard of his friends and has to remind himself, oh yeah it’s a pool party. Kageyama simply ignores his smaller friend and stares at you, his heart lurches a little bit when he notices you already staring back. Kageyama tilts his head towards the door, waiting for your nod of approval. “You need to stretch or something? Why do you keep moving your neck like that?” Hinata asks loudly with one of his eyebrows raised, Kageyama has never wanted to deck him more.
“I-I’m going to the bathroom,” Kageyama announces just as loudly, his eyes keep darting back to you.
“Thanks for telling me?” Hinata shakes his head before running back over to where Yamaguchi and Yachi are throwing tiny plastic balls into red solo cups. Kageyama sighs and stares at you as he walks towards the door, ultimately running into the glass sliding door in the process. You quickly sit up from your pool chair and place your hand on his lower back.
“Oh, look at your face, I’ll take care of you. Come on.” Your words sound innocent like a caring lovers would be but Kageyama knows better. Steam gushes out of his ears at the thought of you taking care of him, he doesn’t even try to hide his boner anymore.
Nishinoya Yuu
Nishinoya would probably be the most subtle out of the three,,
He would look at his phone and his eyes would scan over the words a couple of times
Then he would release the breath he was holding in
Please, Nishinoya would look around like he didn’t just receive a dirty text that sent blood straight to his dick head
He would probably text you back something just as dirty and watch you the entire time you read it
He wants to see you just as flustered as him~~~
He’d probably make some bullshit excuse on why he has to leave, and it would probably be believable
Like “oh I have to go get something from the convenience store” or “I need to go study for that exam we have on Wednesday”
The last one would fuel Tanaka and Ennoshita’s suspicious,,,,, like Nishinoya is willingly going to study for a test?
Then they notice how you also left the room and *cue the gagging noises*
“You are going to go study?” Ennoshita asks in disbelief, he had been curious about Nishinoya’s expressive actions the entire practice. Not like Nishinoya isn’t always expressive and loud, but there was something different about him today.
“Yup, I have to be a smarter and reliable player.” The libero stands proudly, his hands on his hips with his nose slightly jutted into the air. Ennoshita simply narrows his eyes at him before raising an eyebrow.
“Right, and what class are you studying for?” He presses and Nishinoya stares right back at him.
“You know, school and stuff.” Nishinoya finally turns away from him and glance back down at his phone, a wide grin takes up his face.
“Uh-huh, that’s really good Noya.” Ennoshita slowly backs away, not like Nishinoya would notice with the way he is staring at his phone.
“Yup! I’m off to study literature!” Nishinoya cheers and grabs his bag, throwing it over his shoulder and running out of the gym. The rest of the players simply watch as the second year runs away, paying no mind to it. It isn’t until later when one of them finally picks up on what went down.
“Oh, Kiyoko what are you still doing here?” Tanaka blushes deeply as he fails to make eye contact with his manager, the older girl just shrugs while looking at her phone.
“I was supposed to meet (Y/N) after practice today but she had to cancel last minute, I guess an emergency came up,” Kiyoko explains before saying goodbye and Tanaka waves as she walks away.
It’s only when the wing spiker is walking home does he realize exactly why both you and Nishinoya left in such a hurry after practice today.
The Accidental Family - Chapter 5
Henry Cavill x OFC - multi-chapter
< Chap 4 | Chap 5 How to dad | Chap 6 >
Disclaimer: fluff, sadness, memory loss, some strong language
Word count: 2.098
Author’s note: I had a home spa day and I may or may not have made WAY too many bubbles in the bathtub..which then in turn kind of floated out into our adjoining kitchen and...yea...I’m posting this to procrastinate the clean up of ..THAT. Wish me luck. 😂
(Link to my Masterlist)
--
It was not unusual for Henry to be up this early, and yet Phoebe was slightly surprised to find him in the kitchen, the smell of coffee searing into her nose as she was welcomed with the sight of a kitchen island crowded with paper folders and the family whiteboard scribbled full with an enormous, intricately filled out schedule.
Henry was still working on it as she quietly stepped over the threshold, her arms crossing before her bathrobe as she watched him bend down, ass sticking out as he leaned in to scribble something in the far right bottom corner.
‘Morning.’ She chimed, making Henry jerk up in surprise, his eyes looking at her like she had just caught him with his hand in the cookie jar.
‘Whatcha doin’?’ She leaned into the kitchen island and looked at the papers that were strewn over the smooth light grey marble.
‘Oh, ehm, just ..trying to find some order in this mess.’ He shrugged and clicked the cap back onto the whiteboard marker, his fingers pushing it on the small whiteboard ledge before he fully turned towards his wife, her dazed eyes still blinking at him with mild confusion.
‘You see I found all these things you keep around. School schedules, doctor’s appointments, swimming classes, soccer, eh..you know. I wanted to have an overview.’ He shrugged, making Phoebe cry out laughing.
‘You did what now?!’
‘Wait, don’t tell me you have a schedule just like this laying around..’
‘No, no. Eh..’ Phoebe looked over at the coffee machine, deciding she’d need a cuppa before she’d dive into Henry’s findings.
‘Want some coffee as well?’
‘No, no, I’m good. Gotta keep fit, so I can get back in the saddle as quickly as possible.’ He jabbed into the air, as if ready to beat an invisible opponent.
‘Silly man.’ Phoebe chuckled, pouring some of the hot brew into a mug with a smiling elephant on it - yes suddenly Henry owned a whole arsenal of silly mugs. Squinting his eyes playfully he studied Phoebe:
‘Silly stupid or silly smart?’ Henry asked, but all Phoebe did was shrug, turning a pair of mischievous eyes at him while she sipped on her coffee.
‘Anyways. I think, if the doctor’s okay with it, I can start squeezing in office visits between Sam’s soccer practise and Piper’s speech therapy and..’
‘Hen..’ Phoebe sighed, walking up to him to brush a hand over his arm, his shirt fitting snugly around his large chest, attracting her gaze for a short moment. ‘..one step at a time okay?’
‘Yes-yes, I know. I..’
And then she chuckled, earning an even more confused look from him. ‘What’s so funny?’ His brow furrowed.
‘Oh..it’s just. I never thought I’d get you to..draft school appointment schedules.’
‘Why’s that?’
Phoebe hesitantly licked her lips, her stormy blues meeting his aquamarine, his face betraying that he truly didn’t understand. ‘You were at work..a lot.’
‘Oh.’
Henry slowly turned around, also looking back at the busy schedule; it was indeed quite impossible to fit all this in with the 14-hour workdays he had always been so accustomed to.
‘..fuck.’ He breathed softly, scolding his old-Henry-self for being such a workaholic idiot.
‘That’s okay. We were a pretty good team.’ Phoebe leaned into the kitchen island, her hand lowering the coffee cup to her hip as she quirked her head to the side to study the schedule he had drawn up.
‘So which of these did I do with the kids?’ He asked hesitantly.
‘Soccer, on Saturday.’
Henry blinked at the 40-something other items that were listed on the meticulously drawn out grid. ‘Oh my.’
‘Yea..’ Phoebe grinned. ‘There’s a good reason why I quit my job as a nurse.’
‘You were a nurse?’
Phoebe turned her head to answer, but decided not to, her lips instead just twitching up in a half-smirk. ‘For a while. But at least now I know exactly what to do when one of the cubs run a fever.’
‘Did you like being a nurse?’
She shrugged and took another sip of her coffee. ‘Wiping shit of a patient’s ass or my kid? I’ll choose my kid any day of the week.’ She winked at him.
‘Sounds wonderful.’ Henry chuckled. ‘And about that; shouldn’t the children move home at some point? Or..you go to them, or..?’ He wished to scratch his head as he did whenever he was unsure, but Phoebe was quick to stop him, her hand catching his wrist before he could move it up higher.
‘Eventually.’ She swallowed harshly and released his wrist. ‘I just don’t know when.’ Her eyes moved back to the board as she continued with slight melancholy. ‘There’s only so much you can plan.’
--
‘Hi Danny.’ Relief flooded Henry’s limbs as the amazonian goddess of a woman stepped into the office he had been left in some fifteen minutes earlier.
It would be just a short visit to the office, the studio having postponed the production of the new Witcher season until things were cleared out; Henry’s doctors were not very eager to give any green lights until Henry himself showed he was able to carry the burdens that came with being a lead actor in such a heavily regarded tv show.
‘Hey there big guy! Lookin’ good!!’
‘Yea,’ Henry smiled happily. ‘Feeling pretty good as well.’
‘Good to hear, good to hear! Oh and sorry if I’m a little slow. Jet lagging pretty hard over here; just got back from LA and had like..the craziest delay. But, here I am! It’s good to see you, Henry.’
‘Likewise.’ Henry cleared his throat as he tried to remember the short script she had sent the day before. A script that he’d have usually learned in between scenes, taking up no more than half an hour. But now he felt a certain nerve crawling up his spine as she plucked out that very same script from her bag.
‘Alright. So. I thought we’d have a little reading first? See how that’s going? I mean, if that’s alright with you, of course.’
‘Eh..yea, sure.’ Henry hesitated as his eye flew over the bag he had brought along, the script in there begging him to be picked up in case he failed to produce the words.
No, he could do this. He had to prove he could…
‘So, starting at the top of the scene. Geralt is sleep deprived and agitated. You know the drill..’ She waved her hand like it was no big deal, only to remember moments later it might be a deal after all, her tongue clicking as she realised her mistake. ‘I mean. IF you know the drill, or don’t know the drill, either way is fine. No question is bad. We have no stupid questions in this room, mkay? I mean, I’m just so glad to see you here! And..-’
‘No, I can do it.’ Henry frowned and tried to focus on the blurry daze that was his memory, the words somehow sticking to the tip of tongue like they were about to spill..but didn’t come. ‘Okay, maybe just eh, keep the script to be sure.’ He quickly grabbed for his bag, unzipping it to retrieve the script, the many marks indicating just how much he had struggled with it the night before; at some point Phoebe had to pull the paper from his stiff fingers, so he’d at least get some sleep.
Reading the first lines of the paper, he tried to get the voice right, the sentence right, the atmosphere right. Things that usually came like second nature. But now it all just didn’t click, his brain sluggish as he tried to read aloud the words as he tried to give his all - it wasn’t enough.
‘Okay-okay-okay.’ Danny stopped him after a short monologue. ‘Maybe let’s just..read? No crazy stuff?’
Again Henry tried. And this time it went a little better. A little. Not enough. Frustration raged through Henry’s bones as he tried to remain calm, his fists clenching around the paper as his eyes read the words and his mouth spilled them, but it just wasn’t as magical as it had once been.
By the time he said goodbye to Danny he kind of knew what had just happened; he had lost it.
--
‘Hey! How’d it go?’ Phoebe called from the couch, her eyes remaining trained on the laptop perched on her lap, a cup of steaming hot tea next to her on the side table.
Henry grumbled something indiscernible and bid her good night, heavy feet dragging up the stairs way before Phoebe had the chance to ask what happened. Closing her laptop she rushed up after him, knowing full well that he couldn’t be in much of a good mood - her Bear had always been like an open book to her.
She could already see him open Sam’s room to go to sleep in the narrow bed, but she stopped him at that, her hand clutching around his bicep, pulling him back towards the master bed room.
‘Come!’ She exclaimed, tugging at his heavy body which refused to move.
‘I can’t. Not ..now, okay?’ He lowered his head as he leaned his forehead into the door frame. It was more than a little clear that he was heartbroken.
Phoebe frowned, her arms opting to wrap around him instead, fingers accidentally brushing over his cock as she shimmied her hands around him, locking fingers in front of his belly. Did he think she wanted to have sexy time? She could hear his breath choke up.
‘Not that, silly.’ She whispered, her hot breath fanning over his dark blue shirt.
‘Then what? I can’t even..’ His breath choked again and an ever so quiet sob erupted from his lips. It broke Phoebe’s heart.
‘Mr. Cavill. You’re too heavy for me to carry, but could you please get to the big bed, so I can cuddle with you? Please?’ Phoebe squeezed her arms a little tighter around his chest, making him sob harder.
‘I just…’ His large paw wiped over the expanse of his cheek, angrily removing a tear that had strayed down to his jaw. ‘Fuck.’ And with that he caved, his head removing from the door frame as he slowly turned in Phoebe’s tight embrace, his head looking down at her pleading eyes. ‘Okay.’
‘Okay.’
It took a good thirty minutes of crying and half muttering what had happened before Henry had calmed a little, Phoebe sitting next to him beneath the sheets, her eyes watching in agony as her Bear totally fell apart, thick tears running down his beautiful cheeks. He was convinced that he could never act again. That this was it. His memory was failing him. He could do simple stuff, but acting? No way, José.
Phoebe scooted a little closer as Henry finally sighed, the last of his tears spent for the moment being. Without question or answer, the both of them curled into a sweet embrace, Henry’s head leaning down onto her chest as she carefully brushed her hands through his curls, finding the scar that now ran evidently over the back of his skull; it was just another piece of Henry she’d learn to love.
Sniffling softly, Henry melted into her touch, his breathing slowly calming to a soft and deep in-and-out.
And then, she sang, her body slightly swaying on a quiet tune.
You’re my Honeybunch,
Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin,
You’re my Sweetie Pie
Henry smiled into the fabric of her night gown, the soft satin like mother’s skin against his glowing cheek. ‘My mom used to sing that.’ He murmured.
You’re my Cuppycake,
Gumdrop
Snoogums-Boogums,
You’re the Apple of my Eye
Henry slightly lifted his head and looked at Phoebe as she gently continued to caress his hair, her lips chanting the sweet little lullaby. Finally she turned her attention to him, warm eyes melting his fragile heart.
‘I know. She actually taught me. With Sam. I mean, he was probably the fussiest baby ever to exist.’
Henry chuckled. ‘And now I am your baby.’
The both of them laughed softly. ‘No, no, no. You’re no baby! Though if you need some smothering with love, I’m glad to offer it.’ She playfully jiggled her momma-licious tits, making Henry swallow quickly.
Any other day of the week he would have jumped at the chance - nothing much had happened yet on that department, but right now, with his body all rosy and exhausted, he could only shake his head no, his cheek moving back to rest on her chest. ‘Another time.’ He sighed, melting back into her loving embrace.
‘Okay then Bear. Sleep well.’ She pressed a kiss on his crown and shimmied a little to get comfortable.
Sometimes, dads also need a little bit of mommy love.
“So I was thinking platonic LOV x child reader (You can make them 18 if you're more comfortable, but I was thinking more like 14-15) The reader (I'll refer to them as she/her, but you can make it gender neutral) has really bad insomnia so every night, she would be pacing around, doing anything and everything to make sure no dark thoughts take over. Usually, none of the LOV would bat an eye, but considering the fact that she's a child, they feel sympathy, so they indirectly try to get her to fall asleep. Like, sending her on extra missions (always with protection of course) or changing her normal tea with sleeping tea, or maybe just straight up telling her to sleep. Could you make it a fic too?“
Sorry if it took long! Here it isss~ I tried my best to write insomnia and stuff, but I didn’t want to misinterpret it ;(( I hope you like it!
The moon's high up in the sky and looming over Japan as you lie wide awake on the thin and ragged futon laid on the floor. The walls of your current base are cold and mold-smelling which adds to the reasons why you couldn't sleep. You count the handful of bullet points you've crossed off your to-do list for the day: tracked the new equipment delivery, took down the sole witness of you and the League's traipsing from one hideout to another, stole some snacks from an old man's convenience store- yep. Just another day for you.
You did receive good remarks from the team after you've proudly reported to them at the end of your mission, but Shigaraki's words clung onto you: "I'm just glad you didn't mess up."
Sure, you are, too. Until you were reminded of one moment where you've landed a step louder than the previous ones and almost blew your cover, or when you almost forgot to clean up your mess after dispatching the witness. Your mind sidetracked to what could've happened if all of those did happen, and it didn't help that you knew how their powers work. Shigaraki would probably reduce your limbs to ashes, or let Dabi cremate you alive, or confine you in one of Mr. Compress' marbles. All of it made you sick in the stomach and you had to clasp your hand over your mouth to muffle the sudden belching sound that came out of you.
Your head started throbbing and your vision spun slightly as you sat up. You stayed hunched over yourself for a bit, eventually standing on your feet and lightly treading towards the little 'kitchen' set up by Kurogiri to grab yourself a glass of water. Except Dabi was already there to hand it to you. "You look awful." He greets. "Thanks. Not as much as you do."
The small exchange between you two incited a chuckle from him. He takes a sip from his cup, and you wonder, "Why do you have an extra glass of water?" He puts his down and says, "I know you get up at midnight to drown yourself in glasses of it so I figured I'd help you out." You nod absent-mindedly and at the back of your mind you think to yourself, maybe you weren't too careful or were too loud the past few nights. As you start lecturing yourself in your head, he notices you space out and ever-so-slightly flicks your forehead. "Don't know why you can't sleep, but just close your eyes and it'll happen eventually."
After all of that, he leaves the makeshift kitchen and sprawls himself onto his space, leaving you squinting at him.
You believe there's nothing particularly special with his words granted that his upbringing didn't really teach him to be friendly towards kids your age, but you'd be stupid to admit it didn't help ease you even just a teensy bit.
---
The next day drew quick and everyone's fast asleep in their corners. As always, you're left to wallow in the corners of solitude, mind racing with destructive thoughts that keep you very much awake. You make your way toward the kitchenette. You find a few used tea bags and teacups lying on the countertop, and figured Compress might have been awake just like you. Still, you reached for a tall glass and filled it with water to the brim, then exited the room to sit in the chilly air outside.
As you approach, you hear two- three voices speaking just outside. Hushed, but audible enough to discern who's who. Toga and...
"Twice?" You meekly croak as you stare at both of them, head tilted in wonder. Toga struts to you and tugs you by your wrist, carrying your glass of water for you in her other hand. "We've been waiting for you! Come sit with us~" She makes you sit on a wooden box beside Twice, then said man hands you a teacup filled with nice-smelling liquid. It must've been them in the kitchen, you thought. You set your glass down, take the cup and sip.
"Why are you two up so late at night?" You ask in between sips. Twice replies with a passive-aggressive statement along the lines of "We were worried you weren't getting enough sleep" and blaming Dabi. Huh, I guess he told them.
You smile at the thought of the intimidating man caring for you, and Toga flashes you her signature toothy grin back while she proceeds to tell you about her day as if it were any different from yours.
You were pretty sure she was loud enough to wake the others up, but the overflowing energy she radiates that much late at night couldn't bring you to shut her up. Besides, you've got Twice doing that work for you.
The conversation ended when you yawned quite hideously for the fourth time that night, Twice took your hand and led you to your bed that he had tidied up before tucking you in. He pats you on the head gently as your eyes flutter close.
---
It's been three weeks since then and during the time that had passed, it was always Toga and Twice that put you to bed. However for tonight, since Toga and Twice are away on a mission given to them by Shigaraki, you're left on your own.
You'd be lying if you said the midnight tea times you and the duo shared didn't give you a false sense of security, and that you hadn't clung onto it as soon as it dawned on you. Your mind drifted to Toga's face and her various comical expressions when she tells you her stories, or Twice's fatherly hands as he puts you to bed. It's been those two that took care of you and you've grown visually more attached to them, even familiarized yourself with their scent and warmth.
What if they get hurt badly? No. They won't.
But they said the mission was a little dangerous- They'll make it out alive. They're amazing!
Again, you find yourself in a downward spiral as your thoughts pull you into the void. Your mind's filled with what-ifs and buts that you don't notice your feet dragging yourself to someone else's room. You're caught in a mindless haze, your breath's starting to feel stuffy and your body feels sweaty and shit- no, it can't happen tonight. I have to be fine until Toga and Twice comes back.
Unless they don't-
"Hey, you're up." Shigaraki's voice snaps you out of it. He's standing in front of you, without the derpy-looking hand thing covering his face and he shows no emotion until you look at his eyes. His eyes meet yours and you see the worry, the sadness, the tender-loving brotherly look that he rarely sports. "Kurogiri, go make her some tea." He says after carefully taking your hand.
He sits on his makeshift bed, motions for you to sit and you oblige. He pulls you to him, resting your head on his chest and he pats your back softly. His movements are awkward and calculated to not destroy you with his quirk but he's trying, and you appreciate it and flash him a soft smile.
Not long after, Kurogiri comes back with a cup of the same nice-smelling tea you've been drinking with Twice and Toga. You remember the first time they’ve given you the drink, and how Dabi was the one who told them to do such a thing. They were precious, and your big brother and big sister for the time you were lost and insecure about your capabilities. For some out-of-this-world reason, you start bawling your eyes out on Shigaraki's shirt. He calls you out for staining his shirt, but his actions speak otherwise as he continues to pat you on the back. Kurogiri takes your hands, places the cup in them and gently rubs your forearm to console you. "They'll be fine, kid. We'll make sure of it."
“I feel like we haven’t told you this, but you’re doing well. Even Shigaraki says so.”
“Just don’t wanna inflate that pretty little head of yours or you might expect too much from us everytime.”
Shigaraki and Kurogiri's efforts of comforting you went deep into the night. Shigaraki wasn't sure if it was worth it, but when you've finally finished your cup of tea, relaxed and started snoring softly in his arms, he felt as if tons and tons of weights were lifted from his shoulders.
Somewhere in the midst of your slumber you’re reminded that everything’s going to be okay. You don’t know if it’s Shigaraki’s scent or the roughness of his fingertips on your scalp, but it tells you that you’re right here, safe and sound.
She what?
Jungkook x reader
Part1 / ...
A/N: Kookie needs more stories added to his masterlist section, so I am bringing you guys this. Sorry for any mistakes made, hope you like it.
Word count: 2,906
Warnings: Swearing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“Y/N! Get up it’s time for school!” your mom’s voice echoed in the house so loudly ,that even the people waiting for you outside heard her.
“I am up!” you mirrored her energy, while running around your room “Ok ok, books, pens, ummm AH! Homework!” you were wearing only one sock on your left leg and over all looked like a mess “I swear I won’t stay up today till 3am, it really fucks me up hard!”
“Y/N!” your mom yelled out again
“I KNOW! FUCK!”
“WHAT DID YOU SAY!”
“NOTHING!” throwing the bag on your back, you took a quick glance in the mirror. Fixing up the things that weren’t in order ,you looked presentable enough for school. This wasn’t a fashion show after all.
Your footsteps filled up the house when you said goodbye to your mom and dashed outside. Leaning onto your knees you took deep and sharp breaths, trying to calm down your fight or flight reaction to oversleeping.
“Look who it is.” moving up, your eyes focused onto that familiar beanie, trying to keep in check all those dark and wild curls.
“Whip that look off your face Kook.” Yoongi murmured under his nose “We had to drag your ass out of bed. You ain’t any better than her.” Jungkook reached and pulled you up by your hand
“Don’t look down with this pretty face kitten.” he was smug, knowing oh so well that he was good at flirting.
“Calm yourself hot stuff. Cats also have claws.” you pulled back with a playful wink his way, which pulled out a scoff out of him. With a jump in your step you grabbed Yoongi’s arm and started pulling everyone to school.
A quick stop at your friend Mina’s house and you were on your way again to the 4 wall jail.
“I see Yoongi is lookin disgusted.” she needed only one glance at him to know what happened “Let me guess, Y/N and Jungkook are being flirty earlier than usual.” Mina sighed proceeding to ask the obvious question “Yall seem to like each other, why not just, um i don’t know. Date!”
“Mina, you are misunderstanding.” Jungkook patted her shoulder
“Me and Jungkook are just friends. He is just shitty and stuck up, thinking he is so good at flirting. I am just showing him that those skills are mad trash and won’t work on me.” you turned to look at him “Even if he chocked me!”
“Damn, you don’t have to say your kinks out loud like that sweetie.” Jungkook ran his hand gently through your hair, leaving the sensation of a light tugging “Leave that for when we are alone.”
“EW! I can’t with you two!” Jimin rustled his hair, shaking his head aggressively
“ Ok ok, let’s change the subject.”Namjoon stop the conversation from drifting into a huge mess “Can we stop for a sec? I need to go buy pens.” there was a small store next to the school. Size aside, they were always stocked up with good materials since all the students visited frequently.
While Namjoon was buying writing supplies, Jin pulled you to the side with an alibi of fix your hair.
“Ok what is up with you and Kook lately?” he kept pulling out small clips and all kinds of things, from last night’s 3am glow up attempt
“What do you mean?”
“Lately all this flirting has been a bit...”
“Too direct?” you tried to help Jin out
“Personal.” his voice was serious, the word cutting almost through the air around you “ Are we going to act like Jungkook didn’t bring kinks in a public convo?”
“He is just being the same dork as always.” you laughed out, crossing your arms in front of your chest
“I am not worried about what people are going to think of him for saying stuff like that out loud, he can deal with that himself. I am worried about miss tough bruh girl.” Jin’s lips pressed together as he looked at you. The confidence and macho behavior disappeared from your body “Are you really ok?” he turned around to make sure no one was around you two
“...honestly?” you asked him, receiving a nod “I am dyingggg Jin!”you folded like a piece of paper as the words came out “I know he is just flirting with me to prove his point, but it’s so hard to act unfazed by it. “
“Of course it is. You are head over heels for him.” Jin bluntly spoke when you hushed him, checking around yourself again
“Look. It was fine till a week ago. He became...touchy.”
“Touchy how?” you were trying to avoid Jin’s gaze, while blushing “He um...he has been brushing his hand over me and then saying it was by mistake. He bumped into me a few days ago and got so close he almost kissed me!” your voice was a forced whisper ,as your hyper nature pushed it out from your throat like a whistle
“He what!?” Jin gasped upon hearing all that “Shy Kook did that?” you nodded “He is a flirt, agreed. But he NEVER did anything remotely close to this. Are we 100% sure he doesn’t like you?”
“I am positive Jin. He is doing this to prove his point that any girl falls for him if he gets serious about it. Jungkook is trying to prove me wrong.”
“That is not like him t-” Namjoon’s voice pulled everyone’s attention to himself, exiting the store with a bunch of pens in hand.
“You have like a billion of them.” said Jin
“Yeah, but these are comfortable for exams.” Namjoon was placing them in his school bag, when Hoseok gasped
“Wait, what do you mean for exams?”
“We have 4 exams today.” noticing the confused faces around, Joon facepalmed himself “Yall didn’t really think they were letting us leave 3h earlier just like that, right?” the group synchronized nod was so shocking, that you could hear even Namjoon’s brain facepalm itself “I don’t know what you guys will do, just don’t fail at least.”
“Oh, I knew about the exams.” you rose your hand between the bunch of panicking creatures “Surprisingly my mom found out and made me study my ass off. I am confidant this time.” you took a few steps and stood next to Namjoon “For once i am on team Joon and honestly, I can’t lie, it feels amazing.”
“So what you are saying is that you are actually prepared for all 4 exams!?” Taehyung had to do a double check just in case he heard wrong
“Yup.”
“Better sit next to me before someone asks to cheat off you.”Namjoon said making you giggle. Your head swung in the opposite direction as you felt a strong hand grab the back of your head. Not even in a moment’s notice you came inches from Jungkook. His eyes, sharp and dark, eyeing up and down slowly.
“So this pretty head of yours got the answers?” you couldn’t move, frozen from the shock “Mind if I use some of that knowledge?”
“I- what?” you stuttered in panic.
“Jungkook you better stop acting like a kid and study!” Jin tried to be a hero and pull you by the hand, out of his grasp. Yet Kookie with an aggressive look directed towards his hyung, grabbed his wrist and curved his arm up.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” the air was tense, you could hear the silence no matter how weird that sounded. His free hand proceeded to pull you flush against himself, holding you by your waist. His hot touch felt even under the layers of clothes “I can use whatever is mine. Isn’t that right kitty cat?”
“Jungkook don’t be a brat!” Hoseok tried to calm the atmosphere, but was met with the same energy as Jin, when he grabbed your hand. A loud smack pushed him away as Jungkook lifted you of the ground like it was nothing , throwing your body over his shoulder. His serious face changed to a childish smile when he yelled out “MINE!” and dashed towards the school building, only letting you go once you were inside and behind a wall. He was peeking to see if the others were catching up, excited from the whole situation.
His breath was deep and the giggling was coming out of his mouth none stop.
“Did you see the look on their face?” Jungkook turned to you, but you were still frozen from what just happened “Hey, you good?” he lowered himself to your eye level but you averted your gaze, grabbed your bag and dashed to your classroom.
“Y/N...?”
With all the power in your legs you got to your now safe space. The desk felt secure for the first time. As you were catching your breath, Mina caught up to you.
“What the fuck was that!” she threw her bag on the chair next to you, bashing her palms into the wooden board of your table “It was new!”
“Drop it Mina.” you didn’t want to look at her right now, but she was a persistent one
“Nah nah, I am not doing this again. You HAVE to tell me, this isn’t formal.”
“At this point we both need an explanation.” Jin seemed to have calmed down a bit and took a third chair, cornering you with Mina “Come on, you can trust us.”
A moment later you sighed deeply and looked them in the eyes. It was time to get things off your chest. “Kook is going overboard.”
“Yeah, we all saw that.”Mina drew a circle parallel to the floor, in the air “ He has been openly umm nasty.”
“Not to mention weirdly touchy.” Jin nodded as he spoke up “ He might find it fun trying to prove his stupid point, but in the end of the day you like him. It’s effecting you in more than one way.”
“ Jin is right. Acting tough like it doesn’t effect you can’t and won’t last long. What will you do when he gets a gf and stops acting like this towards you?”
“Yes. You like it, of course but that would just crash you princess. I think you should try to move on or at least find someone else to crush over. Sounds hard but...yeah.”
“I know I know.” you grunted placing your face into your hands “It’s a mess, I shouldn’t have challenged him at all. This wouldn’t have happened at all.”
You were frustrated, it felt like a huge mess you made and now had to clean up on your own with only a rag and water. For a moment you forgot about the issue because of the exams. Namjoon and you were confident but not the rest of the gang, luckily Jungkook had one class with you. You were able to avoid him easily with all the running around and revising.
After all the stress was done, you decided to have some lunch with Jin and Mina after everyone else went home for the week. There was a moment of silence.
“Someone gonna say something?” Mina looked at you two stuffing your faces, avoiding the matter at hand “I thought we staid to talk this out.”
“You are right.” Jin sighed placing his box on top of his backpack “ The more we try to ignore it the worse it will get. I know you are frustrated Y/N but we need to do something.”
“Maybe I should really pull back and try to move on like you two said.” the floor was locking your attention in one place.
“Or you don’t except defeat and step on his toes for once in your life.” for a three party conversation you weren’t expecting a fourth person. For a second your heart dropped till you located Taehyung
“Tae!” your body rose from the desk “Please don’t t-” he placed his hand over your mouth. The index finger of his free hand stood in front of his lips as he winked your way. Jumping onto your desk he sat down, crossing his legs widely with his hands now in his pockets
“Relaxxx~, I am not a snitch, plus this smells to me like I can mess a bit with that little brat. His high horse has been fucking annoying all of us, well maybe expect Joon.”
“Your plan is so bad!” Jin rolled his eyes
“Well from what I saw so far all she did was bark back. Come on, don’t you guys see?” he flicked your forehead and leaned back after your ‘ouch’ “ She is all bark no bite. Jungkook sees her as a toy or a little puppy, nothing more. He knows he will break her down at some point.” Tae focused onto you again “Y/N you really need to grab that boy by the hair and show him that you aren’t one to be messed with.”
“On a serious note, I am on Taehyung’s side. Backing up is what he wants you to do. “ Mina clapped her hands excited about the whole plan
“How do I even do that?” you began to panic inside again
“First of all that attitude. Confidence is key.” Jin grabbed your shoulder “ You dress timid, I know this will sound like one of those early 2000s movies with the makeovers.”
“But it is.” you didn’t even need to look up, you just knew. That soft yet manly voice “What?” Jimin leaned onto Taehyung’s shoulder and smirked at you “You didn’t think I wouldn’t sniff this whole thing up, did you?”
“Guess Jimin is up for the part.”Tae fist bumped him “I got the plan already in my head.” he pulled out his phone making a small group chat with all of you in it
“We got this man!” Jimin and Tae were apparently too into the whole situation, while you were almost dripping in cold sweat
“Ok ok.”your hands rose up “Let’s say I agree to all this. What do you want me to do?”
“Man the fuck up!” Jimin hit the table in front of you “ Pull that kid’s leash for once, he thinks he is all strong and stuff. I am so done with him and his disgusting flirting skills lately.I can’t even go to the gym without thinking about him...ugh” a shiver went through his body
“Try to be dominat for once princess.” Jin was being gentle in attempts to calm you down
* knock knock *
The wood sounds creeped into your ears and your heart dropped, when you saw him. Jungkook in all his cocky glory. You panicked and grabbed your bag, trying to get past him in the most natural way possible, but his arm hit the door frame and you were staring at his veiny hand.
“Wow, where do you think you are going?” he sounded more serious than usual “You have been ignoring me all day and then I catch all you guys having a fun looking meeting without me.”
“I am not ignoring you, I just don’t feel that well.” you mumbled under your nose just hoping he would turn back into his old self for a moment and let you go. The day was long, filled with all kinds of emotions you weren’t ready for. You didn’t want him to be one of them. The feelings inside you were starting to bubble, there was no more space to keep them.
“Aw.” Jungkook lifted your chin up with his finger “ I can be your medicine if you want something sweet on your tongue, baby girl.”
“Jungkook!” Jimin threw the chair back, about to start something when Taehyung grabbed his shirt stopping him “...wait...”
“Wasup hyung, why so aggressive ?” the boy leaned onto the door looking high and mighty. Your hand slowly creeped up onto Jungkook’s shoulder. His attention focused onto you once more, when your leg kicked his foot to the side. With a strong grip you pushed onto him, making the boy kneel in front of you. This was the first time he was the one looking up.
With your free hand you swung your hair back, revealing a pissed off gaze that send a chill down Jungkook’s back, in a way he had never experienced before.
“Listen here you little shit.” it sounded like a low growl of frustration “I said I don’t feel good, but you insist on being all macho manly and annoying me. Next time.” you squatted down slowly making him follow you as you came down to eye level “ When I say move, you will be a good little boy and what?”
“...move.” the room was shook by the fact he followed your lead calmly . You eyed his lips making him feel something beep inside his chest, as your index and middle finger gently caressed them
“Louder!” you snapped him out of the trans as you got up suddenly.
“I will move!” he almost yelled out
“Good.” with the bag swung over your shoulder you walked out of the room with a strong step. The moment you were outside the school, you got back to your senses and the situation sunk in. The dash you did towards your house was Olympic level. You had no idea what happened in the classroom, but you didn’t even want to think about it after what you just did.
MASTERLIST // previous chapter: 08
Summary. For the introvert Song Yeoreum, having an extrovert boyfriend like Johnny Seo was something she never imagined before. Fortunately it turned out pretty good, and the relationship between Yeoreum and Johnny lasted for 4 years. Unfortunately, it reached a point when Johnny started to think everything felt different, that Yeoreum probably has changed.
a/n: after months of having no inspiration for this, I’ve finally come back :") unfortunately i have to make this chapter the last one because i currently have no idea how to go on with the plot, and i mayhaps lost my notes on this story too :") therefore, if anyone used to read this fic, i'm sorry for the abrupt ending. nonetheless i hope you enjoy reading this!
One week had passed, and Johnny was still able to calm himself. She needs time and I will give as much as she needs, he told himself on repeat. In no time, one week had changed into one month. His patience hadn't betrayed him, yet he was getting more anxious. Isn't a month too long? Anything can happen within the past 30 days. By anything he meant the possibility of Jaehyun and you. What stressed him even more was none of his friends now told him about any recent updates about you. The universe worked its magic by never putting you and Johnny in a same project anymore. If anything, your schedule and his never matched that these days he couldn't even see you in the office. Lately Ten and Doyoung was getting closer with Jaehyun as well, but they won't spill anything whenever he tried to seek information about you and Jaehyun.
Johnny started to lose his sanity when it was almost three months without you making any contact with him. He tried to ask you out twice, which successfully getting turned down because you always said to have other stuff to do. Everyday his thumbs had to resist not to text you although all he wanted just to ask casually how you're doing. He already expected you to come up with short answers and wrap up the conversation immediately. But it would be still better than being like this.
One day he happened to see you working overtime. The best idea he had was to wait for you and take you home. Except, Jaehyun seemed to think exactly the same thing and he had made his moves. There he was, sitting beside you, unboxing some food and drinks from a paper bag. Johnny was contemplating whether he would join the two of you or not. With an endless train of thoughts messing with his head and his feelings, approaching you did not seem to be a good idea.
They're friends, John. They are friends. Jung Jaehyun is not more than a friend, just like Jungkook. Jung Jaehyun must be only friends. Johnny won't get tired saying this to himself.
Jung Jaehyun has to be friends.
But it wasn't Johnny if he didn't find himself eventually losing it. So one day, without thinking much further, he decided to confront Jaehyun. When he arrived in front of the broadcasting room where Jaehyun was still on air, that was when his brain started to work.
A sigh escaped Johnny's lips. He felt exhausted even before he did anything. What am I doing here?
As he was about to leave, Jaehyun roughly opened the door, making Johnny startled.
"John?"
"Jaehyun." The taller managed to be as firm and stand tall. He cannot lose like this.
"What are you doing here?"
Although with puzzled face, Johnny maintained his intense eye contact towards Jaehyun. Usually Jaehyun would feel intimidated, but not today. He managed to be calm and asked Johnny to talk in a cafe nearby. He already knew where this conversation would go, and the last thing he wanted was to be watched by the other staff.
Jaehyun spent the first 10 minutes being silent. His hot americano on the table remained full and now it was warm. "I'm gonna be straightforward. I hope you'd understand."
"If it's about Yeoreum—"
"It is." Johnny quickly cut him out. "I'm trying to work things out between us. But with you in the picture..." he shook his head slowly, his eyes looking for sympathy as he continued, "Please, don't take her away from me."
"Wait, I'm in the picture?" Jaehyun repeated his words in disbelief, before screaming internally, 'You are in the picture when she and I are trying to get somewhere to figure things out. Now I am in the picture?'
Johmmy was surprised to see how Jaehyun got worked up a little bit. "Jaehyun, please.."
"Nobody is taking her away from you. If she's thinking what you're thinking, wouldn't she find her way to go back to be by your side?"
"I know I did wrong.."
"I don't want to say this, but admit it, Johnny. She’s not going back," Jaehyun almost raised his voice. On a daily basis, he was never one to speak with high tone, nor with intense emotion.
Johnny can't go on with his words. He was devastated and there was nothing Jaehyun could do to console him. Suddenly Jaehyun got up to pick up a phone call.
"Oh, Yeoreum?" Eyeing Johnny, he talked quite loudly, making sure that Johnny was aware of how things got more seriously between you and him. "Okay, I'll go there. Wait for me."
"Jaehyun, please, I'm begging you," Johnny continued as the younger hung up his call. "Yeoreum just needs more time. I know we can go through this. We can work this out.."
"Johnny, you need help. You're drunk too, I can smell alcohol from your breath."
Johnny wouldn't admit it that he did had a few glasses of liquor although it was not even 9 PM. He spent a little bit too much of time crying over his own acts at a bar. There were a lot of things going on his mind. You, Jaehyun, you and Jaehyun, and the relationship between you and him. Piles of work were not even included yet.
Jaehyun sighed. "I'll tell Doyoung to send somebody to pick you up."
"Please don't." Scolds and nags from either Doyoung or Taeyong was the last thing he would want to hear these days.
"Johnny, you can't drive under influence like this."
"Why would you care?"
"I don't, but Yeoreum? Maybe she still do care about you, Johnny. I just thought, if anything happens—please don't get me wrong, I just don't want Yeoreum to worry too much about you."
—
Driving without destination had been Johnny’s new routine for the past week. He left work earlier, making Doyoung wonder what he did after work. He rarely attended party, making Taeyong amused that he could survive without parties. He barely hung out with Mark, so the younger boy had to play with Lee Donghyuck and his same-age friends instead. He drove mindlessly and the next place he parked was your apartment. Then he found himself standing in front of your door, drowning in his own thoughts. The next second, the door was swung open, you being surprised with Johnny’s presence.
"I love you," was the first thing he said. Not even a ‘hello’, or a ‘how are you?’.
You looked unfazed. "Johnny, you're drunk."
"I'm not. Why would I drunk confess to you?" He let out a breathy laugh, not because something is funny. "I did drink, but only a little. You know I could handle alcohol pretty well."
"Johnny, I'll call a taxi for you, okay?"
"Why can't you let me talk?"
"What do you want to talk about?"
"Us." Johnny bent down, resting his forehead against your shoulder. His arms slowly approached your waist, asking for a hug. But your hands stopped them, tightly gripping his wrists on your sides. He lifted his upper body, his eyes finding yours with confusion.
"Johnny, I told you, don't wait for me."
"What if I am?"
"What if I'm not coming back to you?"
"That's just a 'what if'," he denied.
"Things are not the same between us anymore, Johnny. You have to let go."
‘Things are not the same between us anymore.’ Isn’t that my words when we broke up? Does it hurt this much when I said that?
"Are you with Jaehyun now?"
Squinting your eyes, you almost answer him with a raised tone, "Wha—"
Two guys loudly making a fake cough distracted you and Johnny who immediately turned to see who they were. Standing a few steps away from you and him were Jungkook and Jaehyun with their judging expression.
"Yeoreum, I've bought the soy sauce and sesame oil. Can you please assist Jaehyun cooking? He insists and he won't let me order take-out and I'm starving to death," Jungkook calmly said, once a while glancing and making eye contact to Johnny.
You were hesitating to move from your standing spot. If it wasn't for Jungkook pushing you back in to your apartment, you would have been frozen there and probably still engaged in that never-ending talk with your ex.
Johnny silently watched your back walking away with Jaehyun by your side, disappointment was evident in his face.
"Hyung, please, if you truly love her, let her go," Jungkook said before smoothly signaling gestures to go away to the older guy.
Sure, you did like Johnny. Who wouldn't? He was a good company, he laughed a lot—basically a happy virus, he took a good care of you and other people. But that's it. You never fought? Obviously, since you tended to keep it all to yourself. But this doesn't mean Johnny is a bad guy. He is always kind-hearted and gentle. But again, that's it. You simply accepted him because of that.
At the end of the day, it finally came to your senses. After the break up, it took you months later to realize that you did not like Johnny that way. You felt lighter without him. Still, probably due to all those parties. After all, it was the Johnny Suh. Being his girlfriend was definitely something. While with Jaehyun, everything went in a relatively slow pace. No rushing. And you were just being you, no need to try hard to be as 'superior' as the other. This just made you guilty and regret that you accepted him in the first place.
Morning Cap || Kyle and Bex
TIMING: Current PARTIES: @darkh0wl and @inbextween SUMMARY: Bex takes Kyle on a hike through Starfall Valley to find the meteor that crashed. They’re not the only ones looking for something. CONTENT: Gore
Bex had made it to the trailhead early, because of course she had. That’s the kind of person she was when she didn’t have anyone to hold her back. She wanted to be on time, she wanted to be early. She wanted to be early for being early. She paced around the entrance for a while, remembering that Kyle was notoriously late for...everything. He’d been late last time they hung out, he’d been late, even, for sneaking into her house, but she really hoped he wasn’t going to be late today/ Today was important. She was excited to be here today and they had things to do. She was rolling back and forth on her heels when she spotted his car pulling around the bend. Perking up, she bounced over to the trailhead again, where it met the parking lot and waved him down, unable to keep herself from jogging over to meet him at his car, already eager. She wanted to get going, because she wanted to ignore how heavy she’d felt when she’d woken up this morning. The edges of a migraine were pushing into her head, but it was probably just from her lack of sleep the past few nights. It had to be. She’d been doing a lot more activities than sleeping, and while she didn’t mind, she supposed something like that would make her feel more tired than usual. “Hurry up,” she said as she watched him climb out of his car, “we’re losing daylight!” A tease, mostly because it was the middle of the afternoon, but she could see clouds moving in, and in this weird weather surge, that meant more snow. Her boots crunched awkwardly on the half melted bits that were there from yesterday’s sudden storm. “You’re like hiking, right?”
This had been a mistake. Kyle should not have agreed to go with Bex to the giant rock in the middle of the woods. The last time he’d talked to someone about a potentially toxic environment… He shuddered at the thought of what hell Adam and Nell had gone through. He had to remind himself that this was different. This was right in their backyard of White Crest and only potentially toxic. He didn’t love their odds. When Kyle rolled up to the parking lot, Bex was already there. He glanced at the clock on his dash. He was not significantly late; you may as well call him on time. But Bex was early as ever and running towards his Jeep. Kyle huffed a small sigh as he watched her approach in the side mirror. He swung his door open and smiled at Bex. “Eager, are we?” He pulled his bag from the passenger seat to his lap and started checking that he had everything. When Bex tried to rush him, he quirked an eyebrow and slowed down just a little. “Okay, okay, chill! God, you’re impatient.” He eyed the ground, nervous to just hop out. The way he’d been feeling--well, to be fair, he wasn’t feeling so bad. But his sense of balance and his center of gravity were way off. Bex ripped him from his own hesitation as she continued to speak. “Hiking? Yeah, I hike.” Kyle swung his legs out onto the ground and promptly tumbled forward, face planting in the partially melted snow. “Ow.”
Bex backed up as Kyle stepped out and immediately fell. Hmm, this was going to be more difficult than she thought. Maybe she should just go alone. But Kyle was already here and now that he was, there was no way he was going to let her go alone. She grabbed for him on the ground and tugged him back up. “Wow, and people call me clumsy,” she grinned, tugging on his arm. “You can lean on me if you need.” She wasn’t notoriously good at staying on her feet, either, but she seemed to be doing better than Kyle. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt this excited, and she was still eager to outrun the weariness that was threatening to take her. She pulled him up towards the trailhead and double checked the map. “Looks like it’s not far from here, luckily. I’ve never been, have you? I kinda wish we were coming at night, I’ve heard the sky is beautiful. Great place for a date, if your date isn’t a fae,” she rambled, taking a trail map just in case. And, well, because she liked maps. She’d tack it up in her room next to the other local maps she had. “Speaking of dates, I was talking to someone about you and he seemed interested. Not someone I’d originally known was gay, but, you know, things change. Or, not change? Come out? Aren’t we all supposed to be able to tell? I thought we were all supposed to have some sort of gaydar.” She frowned. “Mine must be broken.”
Kyle’s brain wanted to walk forward, but his feet didn’t react like they should. Now, close to the rock, it was worse; more pronounced. Was that a coincidence? He couldn’t decide, but he almost wanted to get back in his car and leave. He couldn’t, though. Not with a clear conscience. If Bex fell and broke a hip or got eaten by space ghosts, he would be stuck with the knowledge that he could’ve prevented her imminent doom. So he staggered behind her, being led by the wrist. “How do you have this much energy?” he questioned. He wasn’t tired—in actuality he had just rolled out of bed before this—but Bex seemed perkier than usual in a way that almost unsettled Kyle. Was this who she was when she wasn’t in danger?
“Yeah the, uh, northern lights? I’m pretty sure we shouldn’t be able to see them at this time of year. Is this like...global warming or something?” He gestured vaguely at the melting snow. “So you and Mina are dating then?” Kyle didn’t want to pry, didn’t want to push Bex to have this conversation if she didn’t want to. But he wanted to know. Before he could fish an answer from her, Bex had continued speaking. She said something that made him stop in his tracks.
“Wait, I’m sorry—you—I—,” Kyle pulled back from Bex’s gently tugging grip. He wavered on his feet, but remained upright for the time being. “Hold up. You just said we have a gaydar? We as in, you’re using labels now?”
“A good breakfast and a better night’s sleep,” Bex answered, smiling wide. “I’ve been sleeping really well lately.” Partially because of all the sex she’d been having. It really wore her out and it felt nicer than any exercise she’d ever tried to routinely try. She didn’t mention that part to Kyle, though. She looked back at him, shrugging. “Everything still going okay with you? Aside from the vertigo? You think it’s got something to do with all this weird stuff going on? I mean, if the stars are messed up, it means something could be wrong with the magnetic field, and I’ve heard stuff like that affects animals. And since you’re, like, part animal, maybe it’s affecting you, too.” She took a moment to breathe, finding herself a little short of breath. But it came back quickly and she carried on.
“Oh, I mean, yeah, that would definitely be beautiful to see up here, but I just meant normally. It’s the one place in town where you can see all the stars and even the Milky Way band is visible on most nights!” Bex wanted to keep going, she didn’t mind this walking and talking thing, but Kyle was asking about Mina and then suddenly he was stopping and she wasn’t sure if it was concern or confusion tinging his voice. She turned to look back at him, hands stuffed in pockets. She let out a puff of air through her nose. “I don’t know if label is the right word, but yes. I’ve recently come to terms with the fact that I’m...attracted to women. Well, one woman. And we’re not just dating, we’re in an active relationship.” Each word felt measured, and took more energy than she liked. She wanted to keep moving. “Is that okay?”
The magnetic fields were affecting animals? Kyle blinked. Was that why he felt like he was moving through a thick jello when he tried to get his limbs to work with him? “Wait, the stars are affecting animals? How do you know that? I mean, it makes sense and—I don’t know. I didn’t think of that.” He took a few steps forward, veering towards Bex. He wasn’t sure if he was reaching for Bex or just trying to find some balance, but his arm flew out as he stumbled. “Sorry, sorry,” he said, wincing. “It’s like…I don’t know how to describe it. I feel off.”
Kyle nodded slowly as Bex talked. “Sorry, I don’t want to pry or anything.” He started walking again, purposely reaching for Bex’s hand this time. He needed something to steady him until the whooshing in his head went away. “I just—last time we talked about this, you didn’t want to admit that you liked Mina like that. I’m glad to see you be more honest with yourself. And me.” He cleared his throat. “So, uh, you were talking to someone about me?” Was Bex talking about Eddie? Kyle had his suspicions, but he wouldn’t ask. That didn’t feel appropriate in any sense. Anyway, Eddie was very adamant that they were dudes being pals. Still, Kyle couldn’t help the little butterflies that he felt. Could she be talking about someone else, though? He tried to wrack his brain for anyone who might be vaguely interested in him, but he came up short. Self-deprecation aside, he hadn’t gotten out much lately.
“I mean, I don’t know know, but fluctuations in the magnetic field have long since been recorded to affect animals. Mostly birds, but any animal that uses it to navigate could be affected,” Bex answered, holding her hand out to him as he seemed to sway again. “If...if you’re not feeling well, you can go back and wait in the car? I’ll be in and out, real fast. I told Mina I’d bring her back a piece of the meteor.” She knew he’d insist on going, but the offer to stay put had to be there, at least. She’d feel bad forcing him to do this. She felt like she was, anyway, but she did enjoy the company.
“You’re not prying,” Bex told him as she steadied him and kept walking, going at a bit of a slower pace just in case he decided to faceplant again. She wasn’t exactly strong enough to hold him up, but she could brace his fall a little. “I was going to start telling people soon, anyway. I just kind of liked the idea of knowing I have a girlfriend to myself for a little bit. It’s still--” she paused, trying to find the right word. She wasn’t sure there was one. It felt surreal, finally admitting it. It felt right and wrong at the same time. She didn’t know how to describe it. “Strange. Not-- not the being with her part. I just spent so long convincing myself otherwise that being able to just say it still makes me feel weird.” Even if all she wanted was for it to make her feel normal, like the wish had made her. She chuckled. “Yes, I was. A very handsome boy, too. I told him you’re a very good guy who deserves only the best.” She smiled over at him. “Which is true, you know.”
“I don’t feel sick,” Kyle insisted with a small shake of his head. “I feel off. I feel weird. It’s—it’s nothing. You’re not going alone, Bex.” He pouted at her, frustrated with himself. Being a werewolf had more and more downsides every day. “Is Mina immune to space radiation, or does she just like rocks?”
As they continued on, Kyle did his best to keep walking steadily. For the most part, he could manage it. His hand in Bex’s tethered him to an extent. It kept him from stumbling too far away, or toppling over completely. “Sorry to take that from you,” Kyle said quietly, not looking at Bex. He stared at the ground, under the guise that he was being careful of his footing, but he didn’t want to look at her as the guilt of messing up something else slowly sank in. The comment about him being good and deserving good felt like a slap. Kyle hummed in response, and didn’t meet Bex’s eyes. “I appreciate that,” he said, his tone flatter than anticipated. It wasn’t easy to pretend that he deserved good things after all he had done. Especially not here with Bex of all people. “How handsome?” he asked, trying to tiptoe around the harder parts of the conversation.
Bex put her free hand up. “Okay! Okay. I didn’t say sick, just, you know--” she nodded at their hands and how he continued to stumble as they walked. Luckily, they were almost there. “You look like you stayed on the merry-go-round too long.” She smiled, more gentle. “No, but I doubt there’s any radiation on the rock, it’s been sitting for a while now. And it’s not all rocks, just this one. She said she really wanted to see it, despite the valley being full of iron, so I assume it’s some strange magic thing drawing her to it. I figure I can prevent her from being stupid and coming up here herself by bringing her some back. And I get to say I hiked through a valley to get my girlfriend a space rock. So it’s a win-win for me.”
Bex noticed the way his eyes fell to the ground, but she’d pretend, for his sake, to not notice. Hiking through Starfall Valley was likely the last place Kyle wanted to be talking about his personal issues. “You didn’t take it from me, don’t worry,” she reassured him, squeezing his hand. “I wanted to tell you, anyway.” She hummed along with him, rolling her head from side to side as she thought. “Very handsome,” she answered, “I think you’d like him.” Grinning to herself. They crested the hill of the valley and Bex traced the line of it to find the indent where the impact crater started. “Oh, there, look!” she tapped on his shoulder and pointed. “We made it!”
“What does iron have to do with anything? Is Mina anti-anemic? Pro-nemic?” Kyle didn’t think that getting a piece of the weird space rock was a good idea, but he bit his tongue. He didn’t want to take the wind from Bex’s sails right when she thought she was doing something romantic. So he trudged along behind her, stifling a mildly annoyed groan. He had no real need to be upset with Bex, but he could barely walk and was on a hike so she didn’t get hurt, and she was just so goddamn chipper about it. He resented her positivity today.
Kyle squinted at Bex. “Very handsome, huh? You think I got a shot with this mystery man, then?” This hike was taking forever, and Kyle nearly stumbled over his feet (but he would swear it was a branch if Bex said a word). He should’ve stayed home. At the top of the hill, he looked out, spotting the caved in section of ground just before Bex could point it out. “Woah,” he mumbled, letting her have this one. “That’s bigger than I thought.”
For Bex, the rest of the conversation was lost. She tugged Kyle faster towards the impact crater, and thusly, the meteorite. There was nothing inherently strange about it to her, meteors fell from the sky every day-- but it was still such an incredible phenomena, and she’d never even imagined she’d get to see one. She let go of Kyle’s hand to drop her bag and pull out the little pickaxe and baggies she’d brought to collect samples. She turned to look back at him before she started climbing over the pile of dirt that had hardened from the heat of the impact. “Just wait there, I don’t need you falling into a ditch,” she said, sliding her way down on her bottom till she reached the rock. “Oh, I mean, yeah-- of course you’ve got a shot with him. I told him to talk to you, so keep an eye out,” she grinned, before taking the axe and swinging it against the rock. A piece chipped off and she scrambled after it, examining the bit closer as she turned it over in her hands. It was really just normal space rock, but considering space wasn’t normal down here, it was an incredible find. Not everything in her life had to be normal. She put the large chunk in a separate bag and picked the hand axe back up. Just a few more pieces would do. She didn’t even notice the critter moving through the field towards them, as she brought the axe down once again.
Where the fuck did she get an axe? Who had decided to give Bex an axe? Kyle didn’t even have a chance to argue before she was wielding the damn thing and chopping into the meteor. He sighed again, long and tired, and let himself plop down on his butt. “I’ll stay put. Scout’s honor,” he assured her, placing a hand over his heart. Kyle watched as Bex gathered her little piece of rock and examined it. He wondered if she knew as much about rocks as she did about history.
Suddenly, Kyle became acutely aware of a sound. Something was rustling nearby. His head snapped up and he looked around for something--anything--but he didn’t immediately see anything. By the time he spotted it, the little creature was very close. “Uh, Bex, I think you should come here. Right now.”
Bex looked up from examining more pieces that were sealed away in baggies when Kyle called out. “What is it?” she asked, stuffing them in her bag and sliding it on as she crawled back up the hill, dirt between her fingers. That’s when she saw it, not too far off behind Kyle. A pale, grey, humanoid looking creature, with strange bone structure and what looked like glowing, red eyes. It was carrying a spear like weapon with two prongs at the end, and a sickly, red hat sat atop its head. Perplexed, she tilted her head as it continued its rather quick pace towards them. “Maybe it’s friendly,” she suggested. It wasn’t running at them or baring its teeth or making scary noises. She had no idea what it might be, she didn’t know enough about the types of creatures that lived around here, but she was willing to find out. Picking up her own axe, she crawled from the crater and slid over to Kyle. “What do you think it is? Do you know?” Suddenly, it stopped just short of them and began to sniff the air, as if trying to work out what they smelled like. Bex watched, fascinated, taking another step forward. She wanted to see what it was doing. “He’s kinda cute, don’t you thi--” but her words were cut short as the creature suddenly leapt at her, snarling viciously as ragged teeth chomped down at her arms. “Woah! Not cute! NOT CUTE!”
“Bex, I don’t think--,” was all Kyle managed to get out before the little thing was lunging at Bex. Great. Amazing. What had they done to attract this kind of cosmic attention? Well, what had Bex done? Kyle knew that he certainly wasn’t redeemed yet, but Bex didn’t do anything to be getting one thing after another like this. Anxiety stirred up in Kyle’s chest and he pushed himself to his feet to run to Bex’s aide. Only, as soon as he was upright, he was toppling forward and landing on his front. He didn’t know if this creature was venomous or deadly in any way, so he didn’t stay down for long. Stumbling back to all fours, Kyle pushed himself forward. He had to make it down the hill relatively safely to assist in whatever way he could. His footing was already tentative at best, and the forward momentum sent Kyle rolling down the hill towards Bex and the little creature on her arm. “Woah, woah, woah!” he exclaimed as he rolled. The collision course was lined up perfectly and if this were bowling, Kyle would have gotten the strike. He couldn’t slow himself, and the rolling was only adding to the dizzying vertigo he had already been experiencing. Let’s go on a hike, she said. It’ll be fun, she said. Right. This was all according to plan.
Bex flailed her arms as teeth sunk into her forearm. “Get off!” she grunted, trying to push it away. It was much smaller than her, yet it dug its heels into the ground and pushed back and suddenly she was being crushed under its grip. “Holy-- what the--” Why was this thing so strong? She looked into its eyes, glowing red down at her, as it used its free hand to turn the weapon it was holding down at her. “Oh, no! No, no, no, no!” She did not want to get stabbed by a skewer today. Mina would be so mad at her. She was just about to lift her feet to start kicking when she heard a loud thumping. Suddenly another body was ramming into her, and the creature was sent flying, as well as its weapon as Kyle collided with them. Bex landed face down in the dirt and grass, little puffs of pollen and iron dust spraying into the air around her. She coughed, rolling onto her back, glad that her ribs weren’t still bruised, before sitting up quickly and grabbing for Kyle. “Watch out!” she called, as the creature grabbed its spear and flung it as hard as it could at him. Whatever this thing was, it was smart. And if it had intelligence, that meant her magic could touch it.
Bex lifted a hand, ready to pulse out whatever energy she could, but with a startle, she remembered her magic was gone. Something tried to stir inside of her, though, and suddenly it felt as if a hole was opening up in her chest and she gasped, clutching it, as she fell back to the dirt.
The spear made contact with Kyle’s shoulder and he hissed in pain. It wasn’t very large, comparative to the creature who had wielded it. He gripped it and pulled it out with a groan that he attempted to stifle. How was he going to explain this to Dani when he got home? She already thought he had an inner ear infection, now she would really be upset with him. “Thanks for the heads up,” he grumbled, sitting up stiffly.
Kyle hadn’t a second longer to think about the shoulder wound before the small creature was barrelling at him. “Uh, Bex?” he called, putting pressure on his fresh wound as he scrambled back. “Bex!?” She was the goddamn wizard, why wasn’t she doing something to help? He barely had the ability to stand, and it wasn’t like he could shift in front of her. Not after everything. “A little help here?”
The creature leapt at Kyle and Bex couldn’t do anything except push him out of the way. Blood smeared on her hand from the wound in his shoulder and she scrambled backwards as the thing landed between them and started scrambling for whoever was closest to grab. “I can’t,” she said, her voice suddenly strained. She couldn’t fight off the exhaustion anymore, it took hold of her like an icy hand and pulled at her heart. She felt it skip a few beats, pounding heavy in her chest. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. The thing snarled again and barreled for Kyle. Bex turned and grabbed the axe she’d dropped, stumbling to her feet. She swung at it and heard it crack against the thing’s skull, sending it tumbling. She held her hand out to Kyle. “C-c’mon! We gotta go!”
“You can’t?” Kyle barked, his tone coming off more aggressive than he meant it to. Blood seeped through his shirt. Had the spear really pierced him that deep, or was it his rough removal that had done the damage. Jesus, whatever this thing was it was no good. To think that at the beginning of the year, Kyle was still pretty sure that the biggest danger in White Crest was himself, or maybe other werewolves. And now, he’d discovered at least a dozen other nightmares to keep him up at night. This little thing was currently at the tippy top of the list. Kyle looked from Bex’s hand, to the small humanoid who was currently trying to pull the goddamn axe from its skull. His eyes darted back to Bex’s outstretched hand and he reached for it as the little devil yanked the axe out with a sickening crunch. He gripped Bex’s hand, trying to clamber to his feet faster than their tiny assailant.
“No, I-- I can’t,” Bex snapped, frustrated enough without the anger from Kyle’s own voice. She knew he didn’t entirely mean it, but it still stung. It pierced the parts of her that had quietly been questioning itself since she’d first woken up normal. Her magic was a limb and she’d cut it off without hesitation. She tugged on his hand and pushed him forward in front of her, wincing at the sound of bone cracking. Blood rushed down the creature’s face as it turned to them and ran forward again, teeth bared. Its head was already healing. She hurried them towards the edge of the valley-- would it stop pursuing them, then? Were they just in its territory? Gods, she hoped so.
But luck wasn’t being kind to her today. The axe it had ripped out of its skull-- her axe-- came soaring towards them. It clipped Bex’s leg and she cried out, falling forward, taking Kyle with her. She scrambled backwards again as she flipped around to face it, hoping getting past the line would stop it. But it didn’t. Of course it didn’t. It leapt at them again and Bex put her hands over head, bracing for impact.
Kyle wanted to scream. It was certainly news to him that Bex couldn’t help out. Her magic had seemed fine when she shook a building nearly into ruins with just some negative thinking. Her magic certainly seemed fine the other time when she panicked on campus and made innocent students relive her trauma. It surely was fine when her stupid mind link--no, no, he couldn’t get upset with her. Not now, not like this. Kyle grit his teeth, trying not to say anything stupid as they scrambled back uphill. Bex screamed and they both fell to the ground. Kyle hadn’t even realized why she had screamed yet, he was more concerned that the hellish little beast seemed pretty okay, considering the cleaving it had received. Couldn’t anything in White Crest be more simple? Like a butterfly who was only a butterfly. Or a fucking unicorn. Or something that wasn’t hell bent on a murder most foul.
All of the anger and all of the fear threatened to bubble up and rush out of Kyle. He tried to contain it, tried to tamp it down with that breathing Bex and Morgan did. But seeing the bloodied little asshole launching himself straight at Bex, at Kyle’s friend who he would protect because he owed it to her, because she deserved it, because she needed it--it flipped just the right switch. Kyle threw himself forward to meet the little man in midair. He caught it by the head in his maw and shook it vigorously. The head of the beast came away from the body with a wet snap. Kyle let it drop and stood there on all fours, breathing heavily over the still corpse. He cast a brief glance over his shoulder, and caught Bex’s eye. A low rumbling growl came from deep within his chest and his eyes glinted with the promise of danger.
The snapping was the first thing Bex heard. The severing of a spine as a head was shook clean from its body. The wet thump! of the body was what she heard next. Her eyes wrenched open just in time to look up and meet the sheen of the wolf’s. “Oh, fuck--” The world dropped out from under her and her back hit the ground of a dark alleyway, one she hadn’t visited in a very long time. A light flickered above her, making her throw her hands up to block out the light. It was that same alley, with that same wolf. Except this time, there was nothing and no one to help her. Bex’s fingers dug into dirt as she threw herself onto hands and knees, clawing to get away. She had no magic to save herself this time. She had no magic to save Kyle this time.
Bex picked herself up and bolted, the alley melting away as she ran. Street lights turned back into trees, even as she heard the hum of their electric buzz in her ears. The crunching of shoes on gravel turned back into snapping twigs and rocks smacking against rubber soles. She didn’t bother to check behind her-- if he was there, then she was dead anyway. Watching it happen didn’t matter.
Her bag smacked against her back as she ran, weaving through trees, doing her best not to trip and fall-- she wished she’d grabbed her axe again. But all that mattered now was getting out safely, before the wolf pursued. The treeline broke and Bex slid the rest of the way down the gravel path to the parking lot, where she was greeted with an eerie silence. She chanced a look behind her finally, and found only swaying trees greeting her gaze. More cars were pulling up, then, ready to explore the trail. “B-bear!” she called out, running towards the cars, finally remembering her leg and arm were bleeding, “there’s-- d-don’t go up there! There’s a b-bear!”
Bex’s sudden movements made Kyle snap up the body of the redcap in his jaws. He didn’t want his meal to be confiscated, not when he had just gotten it; not when his shoulder still stung with the pain of the spear and now the added pain of shifting. He watched her flee, his instincts screaming at him to pursue. He wanted to have this meal that was warm in his mouth already, but wouldn’t she make a better one? Wouldn't she be worth the hunt?
Kyle bounded after her, leaving the fae discarded by the axe. He didn’t get very far, however, as the stumbling was so much more pronounced as a wolf in the clearing beside the stupid space rock. It took just about everything he had in him to get up the hill again. By the time he’d managed that, Bex was long gone. He looked longingly at the redcap at the bottom of the hill, but the idea of going back downhill for it wasn’t something he wanted to do. So he trudged off down the path towards the parking lot. By the time Kyle got back to the parking lot, it was just about empty. Bears really can clear a place out. He was tired, and a little banged up from his struggle to follow Bex.
Significantly more human, Kyle staggered to his car, one hand on his bloodied shoulder. So much for a calm, friendly hike. “Fuck this place,” he grumbled to himself, unlocking the Jeep and digging around for a spare set of clothes.
masterlist.
mike and anna carrera welcomed you into their family with open arms. after neglection from your birth parents and being taken in by the state, foster care was the only option. half way through freshman year and into sophomore year was when your foster parents mike and anna took care of you. their daughter kiara was away at something they called “kook academy”? it took you a while to figure out the slang in the outer banks but soon realized that it was almost like a boarding school for rich kids. even though she was there, you still headed to the local public high school to continue your education but you didn’t really care. all you knew was that you kept your head down and tried to blend in as much as possible.
a part of you longed for kiara’s company to help guide the way through the social standards in the outer banks and get a first hand experience from someone your own age, but alas, you were alone.
it didn’t take long for the state to come to the terms that mike and anna were your safest bet to a happier and fulfilling life out of foster care. this lead to your final adoption into the carrera family and you were ecstatic to say the least.
the day kiara came home was the day that the papers were signed and the only thing racking your brain was the approval of you into her family, being as she was an only child. as you walked downstairs from your bedroom to see mike and anna holding a cake with candles, you spotted kiara next to them with a wide smile and you were filled with happiness. this is all you ever wanted.
you and kiara clicked immediately. after late night talks getting to know each other intricately, it seemed meant to be.
“why do i feel like we were meant to sisters? like obviously we aren’t blood but there has to be a reason that this happened.” kiara exclaimed one night at 3:46 am as you both laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling. your heart bursted inside of your chest and tears welled in your eyes.
“it’s gotta be fate, kie.” you answered shortly, because if you spent any more of your breath speaking longer you were sure that a small happy sob would erupt from your mouth. you felt kie’s hand next to yours and simultaneously linked your pinky’s together as a light breeze came through her open window. the stars and moon lightly illuminated the room and this felt like an actual movie.
you didn’t realize you would get this lucky.
the next morning kiara explained to you that she really really wanted to introduce you to the rest of the pogues. summers with them was always the best time of her life and she wanted to include you in those memories. you agreed without hesitation.
“so pack a bag and they’ll pick us up at the dock in 30!” kiara said, placing her dishes in the dishwasher and taking the last sip from her water.
“wait, do they know i’m coming?” you asked, scared that maybe you were barging in on their plans or maybe they didn’t want you coming in the first place.
“yes, (y/n)! don’t worry! you’re gonna love them.” she replied with a smile and with that, you both went to pack bags and coolers for the day on the marsh.
you rubbed your nervously sweaty hands on the side of your shorts as you waited by the front door for kie. she walked down in a tie-dye shirt and shorts, picking up her backpack and cooler that she left packed at the bottom of the stairs.
“do you think i should be fine with wearing this?” you asked kiara nervously, comparing your outfit to hers.
“yes, (y/n/n)! don’t stress, we’re practically wearing the same thing!” she responded with a chuckle before opening up the front door. you glanced down at your white graphic tee and jean shorts with birkenstocks and let out a breath you had been holding in. you weren’t sure why you were stressing so much. was it because you were about to be faced with three random guys? or maybe they would recognize you from school and associate their thought of you with the weird quiet girl? or maybe they’re the type of people that doesn’t like a person until said person gives them a reason to like them? you blinked hard, trying to clear your thoughts of any anxious feelings and just had to prepare yourself for a good day on a boat.
“hey boys!” kiara called out as you two walked down the wooden ramp to the boat that wasn’t stopping for you and kiara to board. if i slip and fall trying to get onto the moving boat i might just ask mike and anna to unadopt me and runaway to avoid embarrassment.
“you got my kind of juice boxes kie?” the blonde one asked. you associated this as jj as kiara gave you a quick rundown last night of everyone’s names and personalities. she laughed and rolled her eyes at his question.
“as a matter of fact, yes i do.” kiara said as she took the blondes hand to help her onto the boat. process of elimination you knew that pope wasn’t the white guy driving the boat and you gave him a small smile and thank you as he held out a hand for you to board.
“boys, this is my new sister, (y/n)! (y/n), these are my boys.” kiara introduced you guys, with a proud tone. before they could say anything you put your hands up to stop them.
“kie tried quizzing me last night so let me try to get this before you guys say anything. so john b, pope, and jj?” you inquired, pointing to them in the correct order as you announced their name.
“impressive.” pope said with a smile and with his eyebrows raised.
“taught her well, i see.” john b followed up, his eyes staying on the marsh.
“sooo, (y/n). what shit did kiara warn you about us?” jj asked playfully as he caught a beer bottle kiara threw towards his direction.
“uhh, you sure you guys wanna know?” you asked in a tone that would definitely put them on edge because you were messing with them. all of their faces were a mixture of being intrigued, shocked, and slightly offended at the thought that kiara only told you bad things.
“i’m joking, all the good stuff. don’t worry.” you responded, leaning back as you took a sip from your water bottle.
“so (y/n), think you can get used to our pogue life quickly?” john b asked, glancing over to you quickly and than back to the marcsh in front of him.
“fingers crossed.” you said as you lifted your eyebrows and chuckled. your eyes followed jj’s body as he made his way to the front of the boat. groans all escaped the groups mouth besides yours as they realized what he was doing.
pope made his way to move to the back to use john b as a shield. kiara watched from her seat, almost accepting her fate.
“here we go again....” john b somewhat yelled out as the engine became louder. your eyebrows furrowed together as you watched jj lift his beer in front of his face at an angle without it touching his lips. the beer spewed out of the bottle, as he tried to aim in his mouth. this however, didn’t end well because you felt beer spill all over you and into your eyes, a slight yell coming from your mouth.
you and kiara exchanged a glace as your eeyes were wide but you couldn’t help the smile forming on your face. both of you simultaneously looked back to john b who mouthed ‘hold on’ and you didn’t hesitate to grab onto the nearest thing that would stop you from being launched anywhere further.
john b brought the boat to a sudden halt and jj went flying into the air, a loud spalsh following, soaking you more than the beer did. the four of you laughed as you, kie and pope ran to the front of the boat to watch him emerge from the water.
“fuck you john b.” jj seemed to mutter out as he groaned. kiara made her way to john b to help him anchor the boat as pope put out his hand for jj to take. as he took his sweet time swimming back to the boat, you quickly took off your shirt and shorts, revealing your bathing suit and jumped right into the semi-cold water. the water was almost a shock to you and you quickly swam up to catch your breath. when jj hopped back on the boat was when john b and pope jumped in with excited faces right after you.
“kie, come on! the water feels great.” you called out to your new sister. as kiara took off her shirt and shorts, ready to jump in after you, you watched jj walk right in front of her, stopping her in her path. he was saying something to her that you couldn’t make out because of john b and pope speaking right next to you and splashing, but also because you were too focused on him.
you admired the way little droplets of water rolled down his toned back or dropped from the tips of his blonde hair. you watched the way he reached into the cooler and pulled out two cans of beer and handed one to kie, and how the bracelets covering his wrists would slide slightly up and down depending on how his hand was moving. he quickly turned back around but you still didn’t feel the need to pull your eyes away from his body, subtly checking him out.
the only thing that snapped you out of it was when jj hollered out to you three in the water. “i said that kie can only go in the water under the circumstance that she shotguns this beer with me beforehand.” and with that he caught your eyes and gave you a smirk and a wink. your face would feel hot if it wasn’t for the cold water you had submerged yourself in. you smiled and kept yourself afloat to watch them shotgun. it only took 6 seconds for them to finish the beers and the threw the cans on the floor of the boat, jumping in immediately.
the rest of the day was filled with swimming and messing around. they made you feel welcomed immediately. you didn’t feel the need to censor anything you say around them to fit in, really because they didn’t censor themselves in the first place in front of a stranger. kiara had the best friends ever and you were excited for what this would bring in the future. the next couple of hours seemed to fly by and it wasn’t long until you all sat silently, taking in the sunset as john b drove the boat back to his house. your skin felt warm although the breeze cooled you down. all the guys seemed almost eager to get off the boat to settle on steady land in john b’s house and you stayed back to walk with kiara.
“i don’t care if you are into jj or not. but if you want this to be a little secret, i would suggest not being so obvious next time.” kiara teased you as you took her hand to hop off the boat onto the dock.
“fuck, really? thats kinda embarrassing...” you replied, feeling your face get warm as you tugged at your hair at the root in deep thought.
“just be careful with him. he’s kinda into hookup culture.” kiara responded, and you felt your heart sink slightly. you were never the one to be into just hooking up and that’s it. and if you were, you didn’t want that to happen with jj. you liked the idea of jj and thought he was fun, loyal, and spontaneous to and with his friends. you joked here and there as you and kie made your way into john b’s house, placing down your bags to relax yourselves on the couch.
although, you quickly patted down your shorts pockets and looked through your backpack. “fuck, i think i left my phone on the boat. cool if i go back to look for it?” you asked, your question really being targeted towards john b as it was his boat. john b nodded and quickly swallowed his water before waving his hand for you to go.
“here, i’ll help you go look for it.” jj said as he stood up, leaving his spot next to pope on the couch. you gave him a small smile before you both made your way out of the house and down the front stairs. your heart raced as the walk down to the boat was silent. should i say something? does he hate the silence? if he hated to the silence he could say something if we wanted to. maybe i should say something....
jj hopped onto the boat with ease and held out a hand to help you on and steady yourself which you gladly took. “what does it look like?”
“it has a clear case and it’s a white phone.” you responded, searching the back of the boat while he searched the front.
“you know....i saw you looking at me earlier after i hopped back on the boat.” jj stated, walking towards you as he waved your phone in his hands. you, maybe too quickly, shot up and looked at him before grabbing it out of his hands.
“ohh, uh, aha. you did?” you responded, feeling awkward. kie was right, you weren’t really being discreet. “it’s just that-”
“i kinda liked it.” jj spoke confidently, giving you a small smirk. you let out a deep breath and couldn’t fight back the smile you were holding back. “i think you’re really cute, y’know.”
“i gotta say the same to you, maybank.” you said, feeling this new found confidence come out of nowhere. jj didn’t hesitate leaning in and placing his lips on yours. you felt your heart flutter but kissed right back immediately. you left your left hand make it’s way to the nape of his neck while your right one rested on his chest. he held your waist and slightly pulled you closer to him, making you smile slightly into the kiss.
it felt instant but also an eternity when you two pulled away. “is this what you pogues do often? because i could get used to it.” you joked and smiled, as he rolled his eyes playfully and laughed in response.
you really could get used to him doing that.
so i didn’t wanna make them end up together bc it was so soon but im happy with that ending lol, i hope u liked it <3
