Since you mentioned swap aus a bit ago, what would the swap!monkies look/act like? :0

Here’s a few of them! In this particular case Capuchin and Atlas have swapped and so have Quinn and Bea

Capuchin is a lot more rash and irritable compared to normal, and in this version his powers are limited- just for a different reason!

He’s also… not very secretive. Atlas in their regular story is incredibly secretive, they tell no one anything about what they’re doing- and most are under the impression that Capuchin is dead. In the swap au Capuchin isn’t so secretive, and it gets him into trouble sometimes. Being open about what he’s doing though allowed him to gather support and allies in the form of Quinn and Bea!

Quinn in the swap au is a lot more naturally confident in himself. He’s a lot more relaxed, and a hell of a lot more reliable. He doesn’t feel like he has a character or role to play, so he just acts as he would normally. He also has a much better grasp on his powers than he would normally.

Lastly Bea! She’s very bitter and antisocial in this case. She pushes those around her away in most cases unless she takes a particular interest in something. This Bea specialises in setting traps and making weapons.

She also doesn’t need her glasses as much in this case, so she sticks to wearing goggles with prescription lenses

Mizu

When talking to the Shogun, Fowler says that he and his partners came to Japan 20 years ago. This means that Mizu is/almost is 20 by the end of the show. Ok, that’s a lot to unpack. Here’s my timeline! :)

Fire of her and mama’s hut- 5 years old

Started living with Master Eiji- 6 years old

Started training with the blade- 11 years old

Made the broken blade sword (& started binding her chest)- 12 years old

Left for revenge but instead found mama- 16 years old

Got married- 17 years old

Killed husband & mama, started tracking Violet- 18 years old

Killed Violet- 19 years old

Started tracking Fowler- 19 years old

Sails to London- 20 years old!

Akemi

I’d put Akemi at around the same age as Mizu, so here’s just my evidence. During this time, people got married early. That’s just how it was. Akemi was described as being old (but fertile) by the shogun’s ambassadors and by her father. In contrast, when mama explained that Mikio needed a “young, strong wife” she was around 17 (around the normal age for getting married).

Bonus Taigen

Around 21-23. He’s likely a bit older than Mizu based on the childhood flashback that we got. Also, it’s sorta the norm for the man to be older than the woman he’s courting (Akemi).
