propaganda: I am not polish, and my knowledge of polish history is spotty, so the title made me really curious: chicken war? that sounds interesting! what could that be? [answer from wikipedia: the colloquial name for a 1537 anti-royalist and anti-absolutist rokosz (rebellion) by the lower and middle Polish nobility.]

Throughout my time in the fandom, I've made canon ares for myself in my head. The ones that by default apply to all my ideas to one degree or another. Not all of them I love as endlessly as Pavcoh, rather they are exactly the ones that form my standard of perception of the game.

Let's start with my second favorite ship. Abella and Henryk. Henryk is one of my favorite characters, his problems are close to me, the fact that he is a failure in all his endeavors in art and love is so close to me... the fact that he will find support in a human gives me hope, because Abella can really give it. She is kind loving and understanding, but she also has a strength that Henryk lacks with his nature (all the times he tries to become strong from different sides: whether it be being a van in art, winning terms or at least confronting for Caligura just breaks down to reality). Well, and of course the dynamics of Henryk's male-wife who cooks and keeps an eye on the house and the female-husband (does anyone even say that?) Abella who works in an important scientific field and can repair anything is kind of cute to me.

Tanaka and Olivia appeared first as an extension of Marcoh and Pav and then they started to flesh out their own ship. Tanaka has always seemed to me to be a young, impressionable guy (he doesn't have a canonical age, but I don't think he's more than 25) who has just gotten out of his father's control and wants to see the world on his own (as much as possible). He is overly concerned with the great responsibility that has been thrust upon him, and he watches Marcoh's fighting skills with rapt attention. For him, who sees the world without the confines of family control for the first time and love appears for the first time. Sweet, humble and smart, just like himself, with equally obnoxious parents. He's willing to do anything to help her, with his shitty luck for trouble he's willing to go to town, even if a strong ally isn't around. Olivia feels for the first time that people are interested in her specifically and not her sister, which comes as a real pleasant shock to her. This is probably the best ship for the future, which will definitely have a happy ending.

I'll be sincere and honest with you. I don't like Karin. I have a hard time accepting her heavy character, which made me dislike this ship at first. However, I just can't deny how many canon interactions she has with Daan. Their dynamic is endearing in their heated discussions and disdain for each other. I want to see more and more of it.

Samarina - I don't want to pick sides in the big shippers wars. Both Samarina and Marilevi have a reason to exist and enjoy popularity. It's just that to me, Levi is a character who is alien to love and romance in general. He needs a friend, not a partner. So Samarina seems like a more logical option to me, especially after she can be rescued and put on a train. I think she could have made it, after a long time of rehabilitation.

This woman is Maria Skłodowska-Curie, not Marie Curie. She was polish, she was born in Warsaw. After she married her husband she kept her maiden name because she loved poland and wanted to be known as a polish female scientist. She made sure to learn her daughters polish. She named one of the two elements she discovered polonium after her homeland!!!

Calling her french, not saying her maiden name (okay I know it can be hard to pronouce but just try to say sklodowska), changing her name for it to sound french, it's like you're erasing a part of her, a part that was so important to her. Most of her life Poland was not even on the maps, it didn't theoretically exist under partitions. She was growing up in a time that was full of romantic patriotism. During the first world war she helped to train polish nurses, she wanted to help her country with the knowledge she had.

In 1915, she signed, along with Henryk Sienkiewicz (a famous polish writer) and Ignacy Jan Paderewski (pianist and social activist/civic leader (i can't find the right word)), a proclamation published in the press calling for contributions to the General Committee for Aid to War Victims in Poland, founded in Vevey.

After the war, when poland was reborn, she wrote a letter to her brother saying: “So, born in slavery, fertilized in the womb, we will see the rebirth of our homeland that we dreamed of. We had no hope that we would see this moment ourselves, we thought that maybe our children would see it. But this moment has come for us. Like you, I believe in our future"

During her stay in the USA, Maria used her collected money to buy a gram of radium, which was very expensive at that time, and donated it to Poland so that the Radium Institute in Warsaw could be launched. She did much more, but I listed just this.

Me and my friend Marco (@simplemanissimple) have been brainstorming an F&H Beastars Au for a couple weeks now and i finally finished the Termina cast! These were hella fun to make and it genuinely helped me learn how to draw some animals i don't usually draw

Several bullet points about what the characters are doing under the cut for anyone who's curious

-Levi, Marina and Samarie are Cherrington academy students. They're the same age as canon, they're like on their last year of school.

-Domek is one of the higher ups of the academy, he wants Marina to become a beastar hence why he put her in the special classes program.

-The wars Levi was in were turf wars between the mafia groups of the back alley market, as he is an ex Shishigumi member.

-Daan owns the clinic at the back alley market where he rehabilitates predators that went crazy from meat addiction.

-He's been helping Levi overcome his meat addiction. He now works part time at the clinic, Daan basically adopted Levi.

-Caligura is the boss of the Dokugumi mafia at the back alley market.

-the NLU is an organization specialized in capturing violent predators thay have gone mad from eating meat. Abella is one of their most important members, after all who's better to catch a predator than a predator?

-Karin is an investigator that covers cases of predation all over the city, this led to her becoming paranoid and rude towards carnivores.

-Pav is a cop. He's part of the investigation team on the most recent predation incident at Cheerington academy.

-Samarie is the main suspect in this case due to her weird creepy behavior and being seen around deserted areas of the school at late hours.

-Henryk wants to use his abilities as a chef to create food that tastes just like real meat so that carnivores can enjoy it without hurting anyone.

-Marcoh and his sister are the leaders of a carnivore street gang.

-O'saa has ties to the beastars (which is the role we gave to the F&h gods in this Au) and makes deals with then in order to get info on their dirty laundry.

-August lives on his cabin in the woods, the busy city life it's his vibe.

-Olivia and Tanaka do the same they did in canon, they remain normal.

360th Anniversary of Bohun's Death

17.02.1664 Ivan Bohun was executed in the Polish military camp

Ivan Bohun (Іван Богун) was a real person, an authentic Ukrainian Cossack hero from the mid-17th century and one of the most important Cossack commanders during the uprising of Bohdan Chmielnicki (Bohdan Khmelnytsky, Богдан Хмельницький), which started in 1648 ('Ukrainian Independence War').

As such, he has many diverse appearances in the Ukrainian culture and in the Polish culture (in literature, folklore, visual arts, music, opera, theater, cinema, etc.). Perhaps, the most famous worldwide (or just Tumblr-wide) of them all is the novel "With Fire and Sword" ("Ogniem i mieczem") by the Polish writer, Henryk Sienkiewicz, from 1883/1884. H. Sienkiewicz changed Bohun's name to Jurko, but described some of his authentic deeds, i.a. the role, he played during the battle of Beresteczko, 1651. The novel itself, as a part of the well-known "Trylogia" (which occupies an important place in the Polish culture), has many adaptations in art, theater, radio and cinema. The most famous of them is the Polish film from 1999, directed by Jerzy Hoffman. So...

Bohun's appearance in that film is not everything, in fact, it is only the tip of the iceberg of Bohun's myth. There is much more to explore and admire.
