“I’ve been wondering,” Lena strides past Kara, tugging her along like a rip current.
“Yeah?” Kara follows her best friend’s perfume intuitively, not a thought in her head.
“Your boots.”
“What about them?”
“I’m working on your new suit,” Lena explains, so casually. As if it didn’t make Kara’s chest swell with that uniquely flustered sense of pride and importance. Being the sole focus on Lena Luthor’s attention could do that to a person. Kara especially. “And I need to make a decision about footwear.”
“I’m all ears,” Kara grins. She parks herself against the desk where Lena’s now docked her tablet. “What have you been wondering?”
Lena turns away from the device and flashes Kara a sly smile. Her keen gaze sweeps deliberately down Kara’s front then glides back up slowly, settling for a prolonged second at the place where the tops of Kara’s boots kiss her thighs.
Kara’s never felt quite so naked in her suit before. She swallows.
“They’re thigh high,” Lena observes rather unnecessarily, sounding a little strangled all of a sudden. “That can’t be practical.”
Frowning, Kara straightens. She likes her boots the way they are. When she crosses her arms in front of her chest to protest, Lena’s eyes fly to her biceps. They widen just briefly before bouncing back up to her face. Lena plows forward somewhat breathlessly.
“I’ve been trying to identify the benefits but I honestly can’t say I’ve found any.” Her eyes drop once more to Kara’s thighs. “Coverage above your ankles is redundant now that your suit has pants with pierce and abrasion resistant nano fibers. Any extension of the leather above the knee only serves to limit range of motion.”
Lena takes a breath, seeming uncharacteristically anxious. Concerned, Kara tunes in to her heartbeat. She does that sometimes, checks in if she thinks something’s wrong. And maybe also when she craves the soothing rhythm of Lena’s warmth from across the city. She finds the young Luthor’s heart rate a tick higher than normal. Strange.
Lena licks her lips, still staring intently at the juncture where red leather gives way to blue fabric.
“And I can only imagine they…” she tilts her head appraisingly, hesitates on a thought, “they get a little snug if your leg muscles are… um, tight.”
Kara’s not exactly sure what’s bothering Lena, but the heated focus of her stare is enough to make the Super fidgety, feeling warm all over. She settles back against Lena’s desk once more and crosses one leg over the other.
Lena’s eyes track the movement sharply, never once glancing away. In the background, Kara hears that familiar rhythm ratchet another beat faster. Hm. Could Kara have caused that?
Experimentally, Kara slowly flexes the muscles of one leg then the other, pretending to settle into her spot. Sure enough, she notices the rim of her boots gently digging into her skin as her quads expand. She also notices how Lena’s breath escapes her in an urgent little puff. Kara watches intently as the young Luthor bites unconsciously at the corner of her lower lip.
Kara shifts her legs again subtly and Lena swallows. It’s audible even without superhearing. Kara’s crinkle gathers between her brows, perplexed by Lena’s behavior. The engineer hasn’t said a word in over five seconds, not even to conclude her observations and yet she seems so fixated on where Kara’s boots reach her thighs and—oh. Oh.
Before Kara can help herself, her grin turns smug. “What’s your point?”
Dazedly, Lena shakes her head. She blinks up at discerning blue eyes. “That perhaps the tall boots aren’t worth athe extra effort.”
“I dunno Lena,” Kara uncrosses her arms, slow as molasses, and takes a step into her friend’s space. “What do you think?”
Even flushing at the increased proximity, Lena doesn’t step away. She simply tilts her chin up, meeting Kara’s gaze through sinfully long lashes.
“W-what do I think?” Lena repeats. She must be flustered—Lena Luthor does not make a habit of speaking extraneously. “I… It doesn’t matter what I think, Kara. It’s your suit.”
She’s speaking in a near-whisper now and the tenuous intimacy in her voice is tying knots in Kara’s throat.
“I care what you think,” the Super insists, preening at the way her height allows her to tower ever so slightly over Lena’s figure.
Lena doesn’t answer right away, just continues to study her, so Kara helps out. She tilts a degree closer and delights in the way Lena’s eyes flutter closed just briefly.
“And I have a hunch you like the boots,” Kara suggests quietly.
An attractive blush splashes high across Lena’s cheekbones and Kara smiles as she watches it spread. Lena is so arrestingly beautiful.
Eventually, after a quavering but measured breath, Lena answers.
“And what if I do?”
It’s whisper quiet, but Kara thrills at the affirmation, a jolt of elation sizzling down her spine. She hums thoughtfully, inching forward until their chests are almost touching. Lena’s eyes won’t leave her face, darting between her mouth and darkening blue eyes as the sound of her heartbeat thunders in Kara’s ears.
“Then I think we keep the boots.”
Ever the consummate professional, Lena scowls. “No matter how much I may like them, they’re still impractical. Form should follow function, not the other way around.”
“I wouldn’t call them functionless, Lena.” Kara regards her for a second, then leans down until they’re cheek to cheek. She drinks in the sound of Lena’s breath hitching and speaks softly against the shell of her ear. “Not when they make you look at me like that.”
“That’s hardly an intended function, Kara,” Lena counters, albeit weakly, swaying slightly into the scant space between their bodies.
“Maybe not intentional, but I think it’s my favorite function yet,” Kara purrs. She pauses for effect, letting her voice drop to a gravelly rumble she’s never heard from herself before. “I like having your eyes on me.”
The admission shoots through them like a current, electrifying the already charged air. Both women tense, green eyes boring into blue as a spark of understanding arcs between them and sets aflame something glorious and long overdue.
The silence drags on, pregnant and crackling, until Lena softly clears her throat. She looks away with a clench of her jaw and Kara openly admires the way it juts her features into gorgeous relief.
Kara feels movement at her abdomen and glances down in surprise to find Lena’s fingers gently disentangling themselves from her belt. When Lena had grabbed hold of her was anybody’s guess. Lena speaks just as Kara begins to peel her hand away from where it had taken residence on Lena’s waist—quite without her knowledge.
Tenderly, meaningfully, Lena flattens a hand over Kara’s stomach. She lingers there for a moment, a hopeful entreaty offered in her eyes, then steps away. She throws Kara a diffident smile and turns back to her work with nothing but that enticing color adorning her cheeks.
Eventually, without looking up from her tablet, Lena shrugs.
“I guess we can keep the boots.”

Jess: *exaggeratedly groaning and slowly stretching her shoulders*
Lena (hunched over a microscope): Would you please stop that? I'm concentrating here.
Jess: My shoulder is still sore.
Lena: From what?
Jess: From bumping into your buff blonde beefcake last night.
Lena: *malfunctioning at the words, "buff", "blonde" and "beefcake" and Jess's implications by using "your"*
Lena (blushing): I- Ka— she's not— you—
Jess: Yep, I thought so.
Lena (still blushing): Y-you're fired.
Jess: I believe that's code for, 'Jess, you get a raise.'
this is the exact convo they had after that night when Kara stormed into the office.
p.s Jess does indeed get a raise.
asjdajsd the weak & helpless “y-you're fired.” this is the start of jess getting her wallet filled, receiving raises left & right because her boss is a useless sapphic whose brilliant mind ceases to function at the thought or sight of a certain hunky blonde. also, meaning: being subjected to lesbian activity as she slowly loses her mind because these two are the most (unintentional) insufferable horny IDIOTS

Instant Failure: Lena gets a chance to break free from Teacher Jack, even getting Emily for herself, but only if she can walk all day with a foot long vibrating cock in her ass.
Lena had told herself she could do this.
She had told herself her worship of the male teacher had only been a temporary thing, that she had just slipped and would not fall again, that she was a lesbian and hated that creepy and perverted man.
She had reassured herself that she had played with dildoes in the past, that she could handle having one stuck in her ass for a day. That it was only a matter of willpower, that she'd show her teacher she wouldn't submit to him anymore...
Ten minutes after Jack had turned the vibration function on, Lena had fallen to her knees, a puddle of drool and pussy juice forming under her as she was rendered helpless by the footlong cock in her ass.
And to think the teacher's cock had felt even better...

Supergirl and Queerbaiting
Kara Danvers and Lena Luthor are endgame. At least, that’s what the majority of fans of these two believe. Supporters of Kara and Lena, aka Supercorp, have been arguing for them to get together since season 2, but the writers seem to insist that they are just friends, even as they continue to write scenes that mirror other popular tv show couples. This results in queerbaiting.
Queerbaiting, a media tactic that hints at a queer relationship to attract LGBT viewers, has become a rising issue in the past 10 years, with shows like Supernatural, Sherlock, Teen Wolf, Once Upon a Time, The 100, and Rizzoli & Isles contributing to the problem [x]. Afierra from Hypable wrote an article on the issue of queerbaiting within Supergirl, illustrating how the queerbaiting on Supergirl is so strong that even non-LGBT fans can pick up on it.
I want to illustrate how queerbaiting negatively impacts the LGBT fan community. Based on a majority of fan comments found on Tumblr, many fans are ecstatic about the idea of Kara and Lena’s relationship developing into a romantic one [x]. The reason so many fans are fairly positive about the progression of Supercorp’s relationship is that a show previously accused of queerbaiting, The Legend of Korra, revealed in the series finale that the two characters that were used for the “queerbaiting” actually ended up together [x]. This gives many fans of Kara and Lena hope that the two will get together romantically someday on the show.
Comparing Lena and Kara’s relationship to other canon couples from other TV shows demonstrates how the show writers of Supergirl have continued to ‘string along’ the LGBT fans, resulting in fans being extremely displeased and let down. Additionally, with mental health issues being a higher risk for LGBT youth, it is important to look at the negative effects of queerbaiting as it may exacerbate the already alarming state of mental health of LGBT fans.
Evidence of Queerbaiting within Supergirl
Since the introduction of Lena Luthor at the beginning of season 2, “fans of their “relationship” began to emerge, mostly due to the natural chemistry between the two actresses” [x]. There are countless gifs of the flirtatious nature of their relationship. Another gif illustrates how Kara made the same face when James Olsen spoke, whom she was interested in romantically, as when Lena Luthor spoke to her, resulting in hope that Lena will become a love interest for Kara [x].
However, Supergirl is now on its fifth season, and there is no evidence - besides the hope from fans - that Kara and Lena will get together romantically. However, there is speculation that Supercorp will happen as within the Arrowverse shows the main characters have their one and only since the first few seasons of the show - Oliver met Felicity in season one, Iris has been on the show since day one, and Sara met Ava in the third season of Legends and their relationship is still going strong. Besides Lena, her sister, and her father figure, there is no other character that has been on the show for very long; in fact, most of the cast for the fifth season was introduced last season. Additionally, Kara and Lena are portrayed in typical superhero tropes that parallel other shows like Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and even from past shows that depict Superman and Lois Lane [x].
The biggest parallels that fans of Supercorp make is with Superman and Lois Lane, like Kara hovering outside Lena’s window [x]. Another parallel was drawn between Supergirl and The Legend of Korra, where both Kara and Korra are incredibly powerful beings who have an intense love of food, and Asami and Lena are both brilliant women who have an engineering background and have strayed from their families’ beliefs [x]. Asami and Lena have done whatever they could to protect Korra/Kara, and have both inherited their families’ companies, becoming the CEO [x]. Not to mention that both Korra and Asami dated the same man, Mako, at different points during the show, while Kara and Lena both dated the same man, James, at different points during the show. This gives fans of Supercorp hope that Kara and Lena’s relationship will develop into a romantic one, as Supergirl and The Legend of Korra are both very similar shows and Korra and Asami from Legend of Korra ended up together in the end.
All of this - the parallels between other couples from other shows as well as romantically inclined scenes between Kara and Lena - have given fans a base for their belief that the show writers of Supergirl are actively queerbaiting, in which they purposely make the scenes between Kara and Lena somewhat romantic in order to draw in an LGBT audience. At this point, the queerbaiting has become so strong “it’s no longer just Kara and Lena fans who are interpreting their interactions as amorous. People who are completely indifferent to the pair or don’t even watch the show are recognizing what’s happening” [x].
For over three years, Supercorp fans have been queerbaited by the show writers of Supergirl, and this constant queerbaiting affects the LGBT fans because there isn’t a belief that “it’s just a matter of time” but that they must hold dear and take whatever scraps they are given. The fans want and hope that Supercorp will happen, but there isn’t any fan that is 100% sure that Kara and Lena will end up together like fans of heterosexual couples. This lack of certainty that LGBT fans exhibit is based on the history of LGBT portrayal within the media. The lack of portrayal of LGBT fans in the past, as well as a history of queerbaiting from a multitude of popular shows, results in LGBT fans’ low confidence in seeing themselves represented on screen.
Research that Supports the Negative Effects of Queerbaiting
LGBT fans have only just begun to see a spark of more LGBT centered shows and movies within the past few years, but there are also many shows which have queerbaited their LGBT audience. For instance, The 100, while giving its audience a lesbian “relationship” between Clarke and Lexa, \they had a total of two romantic scenes in which Lexa was killed off the show right after the last romantic scene of the two. A majority of the fans were outraged due to the Bury Your Gays (BYG) trope, where a character who is revealed to have a queer identity is then shortly killed off the show because the “BYG trope punishes these characters by erasing them from the narrative entirely if the depiction indeed goes beyond subtext to include acknowledged queer identity” [x]. Both queerbaiting and the BYG trope is harmful to the LGBT fan community as fans see themselves in these characters, and when those characters are pushed into an opposite-sex relationship or their sexuality is limited to subtext, it implies to the LGBT fan community that their sexuality should never be acted on and they should always remain hidden. More than 70% of LGBT youth have reported “feeling sad or helpless for at least two weeks in the past year” [x], and with popular media utilizing queerbaiting within their shows, it doesn’t help the already despondent LGBT youth. Therefore, “both queerbaiting and BYG…  punish queer audiences by the suggestion (or even promise) of quality LGBTQ representation, only to have their hopes dashed” [x].
In season five of Supergirl, the queerbaiting has reached a whole new level in that the fans don’t even need to reach to find hidden implications of a romantic nature between Kara and Lena. But throughout these Supercorp scenes, there are always reaffirming their friendship status. By the writers reaffirming Kara and Lena’s relationship as “just friends” and then at the same time playing into the romantic tropes between Kara and Lena, it gives the LGBT fan less confidence to believe that they will get to see the happily ever after they crave because, in the past, many relationships they believed had the potential to be something more was written off as “just friends” or the characters that were confirmed queer were then killed off. This implies to the LGBT fan community that having a happy ending isn’t for queer characters and therefore, not for their queer audience either.
The LGBT youth fan community is already struggling with mental illness and a sense of identity due to having to hide their true selves or be unable to acknowledge it because of still prevalent homophobia, so many will turn to media as a distraction or even as a way to gain hope for their own future. But when so many shows are debased to queerbaiting, the hope these fans have for their future becomes further diminished with lack of representation, and will negatively affect the LGBT fan audience to believe that nothing will come out of their hopes and beliefs of two characters getting together romantically.
Conclusion
From the analysis of the evidence above, it’s becoming more obvious that the Supergirl writers are actively queerbaiting their audience to the point that LGBT fans aren’t the only ones noticing it. As discussed previously, queerbaiting negatively affects LGBT youth as it diminishes their hope for a better future, further outcasts them within society, and lowers their self-confidence. Therefore, with a popular show that is so clearly queerbaiting its audience, it further drives the previous negative points of this issue because it's now seen by all types of audience members that the LGBT fans aren’t worth the happy ending they seek within popular media.
Producers and writers of popular media need to understand the detrimental effects of queerbaiting the LGBT fan community. Therefore, more action will be taken by fans if they feel that Supergirl has wronged them in the lack of representation between Kara and Lena.
Therefore, the writers of Supergirl need to either stop blatantly queerbaiting their audience or allow for Kara and Lena’s relationship to develop into what many fans have already vied for: Supercorp. If the writers continue to walk the path they’re currently on, fans will become outraged and the ratings of their show will come down. So, for the benefit of Supergirl, the fans’ happiness and mental stability, stop with Supercorp and queerbaiting.

I just crammed all the best gay ladies (and my favorite gay lad from Legends) from my favorite CW shows into one messy story and had them talk about how much they love each other and then kiss.
Because fuck it we all need some gloriously cheesy gay cuddling in this trying day and age.
OK, technically this has a narrative which is that Astra wants to get Alex a date and tries being Alex's wingman but it gets really gay, but honestly that is an excuse for everybody to get together.
Couldn't decide who to ship Sara with between Sara and Nyssa, so I picked both. Enjoy imagining Katrina Law in a cheongsam. :D

So @illegalanger‘s birthday was earlier this week. Rose is one of those people where it honestly boggles your mind that someone can be simultaneously so creative, talented, and just plain cool and also so incredibly thoughtful, empathetic, and sweet. AND she also ships Spiderbyte holy shit. She’s an amazing person and if you’re not already following her/checking out her art, you should be.
Anyway. In celebration of Rose, here’s some Spiderbyte pranking Tracer. Happy late birthday you beautiful sea lion <3
"She," Widow announced, "is the worst."
She looked around the drop ship expectantly. Sombra shrugged and Reyes kept his eyes fixed on the floor.
"Yeah, that sucked," Sombra said. "But we got out okay, and I got my data, so..."
"She's not that bad," Reyes mumbled.
Widow fell back in her flight seat with a huff. No one had so much as spit in her direction until Tracer had shown up, and made a blue-streaked beeline for her perch. She had tried to hold her off, but her rifle was pathetic at the close ranges the girl insisted on fighting at. Reyes had had to fall back from his position to support her. Sombra had had less time to get her job done. All because of one girl, who was the absolute worst.
"I have known plenty of British people in my life, and none of them talk like her," Widow said, intent to prove her point. "She's doing that on purpose. It's embarrassing." Sombra nodded sympathetically. Reyes coughed. Widow turned to him with narrowed eyes. "What?"
"No, you're right," he said. "She absolutely is a ridiculous national stereotype."
"Thank you!" Widow said. She set about disassembling her rifle, and therefore missed Sombra kicking a somewhat sheepish looking Reyes in the shin. "And those goggles," she continued. "What's even the point of them?"
"Keep bugs out of her eyes?" Sombra ventured. "But like, actually though. She goes really fast, right?" Both Reyes and Widow stared at her. "Haven't you guys ever seen the grills of supercars, after they've done speed tests with them? It's like..." Sombra made a splat motion with her hand, then drifted off as the two continued to silently watch her.
"It's because she's a pilot, Widow," Reyes said.
"WAS a pilot. Now she just wants to get away with her World War I cosplay."
"World War I pilots didn't have asses like that," Sombra said. Widow scowled at her.
"Just because we didn't like your bug idea doesn't mean you have to be petty."
"I didn't say your ass was worse! I just said she has a nice ass!"
"There were World War I pilots with nice asses," Reyes said. "I saw a photoessay on gay soldiers throughout history and like. Trust me."
"We're getting off topic," Widow said. "The point is, Tracer is the worst of any of them."
“Eh. I don’t know. His ex is worse,” Sombra said, point at Reyes, who nodded enthusiastically. “I have friends back home who are still in the hospital because he wanted to play white savior to those poor, helpless Mexicans. And Tracer’s just kind of funny, with how huffy she gets over the upgrades I made to her tech.”
“You get used to her after a while,” Reyes added. “At least, that’s what she was like back when we worked together. And Sombra’s right. Jack is much more annoying.”
“Or what about the German guy?” Sombra added.
“Reinhardt? In terms of pure sensory shit, yeah, he’s worse. His whisper is about the volume of most people’s yell.”
“His hair is what turned me gay.”
“Hey, come on, he’s a bear icon. You can’t be too mean about his looks.”
Widow slouched back down in her seat as Sombra and Reyes devolved into an argument about the cornerstones of gay culture. She stayed sullenly silent for the rest of the flight, until Sombra grabbed her elbow as they were disembarking.
“Hey,” Sombra said softly. “Are you actually mad about the ass thing? Because, like, trust me Widow, I’d take yours over hers any damn day. Like seriously, it only really looks good because the rest of her is so small, but yours–”
“No, I– no. But thank you.” Sombra continued to stand at her side, concerned frown on her face, and Widow sighed. “I’m just upset, I guess.”
“Upset with her?”
“Upset with myself.” Sombra’s frown deepened and Widow took her hand and began walking towards the base. “That’s the second time that girl has stopped me from completing a mission. And she almost kept me from doing the Mondatta job. I just– don’t like it, I suppose.” She brushed her hair from her face with her other hand. “I’ve tried training in close combat, I upgraded the venom mines, but she keeps beating me, and this time it hurt you two as well. It’s just very frustrating, feeling like someone’s always getting the best of you.”
“Hey. Widow. You’re the best.” Widow shook her head and Sombra stopped, pulling her towards the wall. “I mean it. You’re the best sniper in the world, and she’s the epitome of spray and pray. Gabe helped you out today because he knew making sure you could do your job would mean the best for all of us. And it worked, right? We got it done.”
“But I couldn’t have done it without you,” Widow muttered. Sombra laughed and kissed her.
“Yeah, man. It’s called being part of a team. That’s kind of the deal.” She took Widow’s hand once more and Widow let herself be led back into the base. “But trust me. You’ll get one up on her, and soon.”
-
Widow had thought Sombra’s words were empty affirmation. She should have known that while Sombra may have been a consumate conwoman, she never lied to her.
“What are we doing here, Sombra?” Widow hissed, as Sombra held the door open for her. The apartment building they were in was by no means bad, particularly for London housing. But it definitely was not the typical domicile of her high-profile targets. And she hadn’t received any briefings from the Council, and Sombra was carrying a large box she had refused to tell her the contents of. Something was up.
“So,” Sombra whispered, closing the door behind them. “I was thinking about how annoyed you were with Tracer. And I maintain that you’re better than her in every way, still. Especially in terms of ass.” Widow snorted and looked down. “So you don’t need to go out of your way to beat her. It’s going to happen. But.”
“But?”
“But I thought maybe I could help you out.” Sombra grinned and held out the box. “Take a look.”
Widow eyed it over. “I don’t understand. It’s not the right shape for my rifle.”
“What? No! Okay, hang on.” Sombra rubbed her face, balancing the box on her hip. “I mean, she’s still… this isn’t an assassination job. Sorry to get your hopes up. But I still think you’ll enjoy this?”
She held the box out once more. Widow gave her one last apprehensive look, then opened the lid.
A spider crawled onto her hand.
“My God,” she whispered, staring inside. The box was full of spiders. Sombra laughed in delight.
“Your aesthetic is very conducive to pranks, Spider. I appreciate it.” She handed Widow a pair of gloves, and Widow put them on, a small smile beginning to form. “And do you want to know the best part?”
“What?”
“Her girlfriend’s vegan. She posted a picture on Twitter of Tracer carrying out a bug for her, with the caption ‘my hero!’ So...”
“So she won’t be able to squish any of them,” Widow completed. She laughed, sprinkling the spiders on the couch. “Good. I wouldn’t want her to hurt any of these beautiful souls.”
“You kill people for a living.”
“Yes, but look at them.” Widow held a handful of spiders up to Sombra’s face. Sombra gave an appreciative nod.
“Good point. Now help me get some of them inside the Playstation.”
-
Sombra and Widow were having a pleasant breakfast when Reyes stomped up to them and dropped his holovid on the table. They looked between him and it, then at each other.
“Uh,” Sombra began.
“Does one of you want to explain this?” Reyes asked, pointing at the device. The two bent over it. There was an article on screen, with the blaring headline “OVERWATCH HERO LENA OXTON SEEN ENGAGING IN BIZARRE SPIDER RITUAL– LESBIAN WITCHCRAFT?!”
“I didn’t know you read gossip blogs,” Widow said.
“I know this was you two,” Reyes snapped. “Spiders? Really? You couldn’t have used something less obvious? This makes us look completely unprofessional. Akande will be furious.” He looked down at the holovid again. Below the headline was a picture of a very unhappy looking Tracer holding a cup filled with spiders far, far away from her. He sighed. “I just don’t know why she was carrying them out like that.”
“Oh, Gabe, that’s the best part. So, her girlfriend’s some ridiculous hardcore vegan–”
“I’m a vegan,” Reyes snarled. Sombra and Widow paused and looked at each other.
Very delicately, Sombra asked, “Don’t you eat people?”
Reyes pivoted and stomped away from the table. Sombra smiled widely at Widow, and her smile grew when Widow kissed her on the cheek.
“You're the best,” Widow murmured in her ear.

1 + supercat ❤️
Cat is anticipating the first ‘I miss you text’ days before it arrives. In a way, she’s impressed that Kara held out for so long. Knowing what she does, Cat doesn’t expect her former assistant to be anything but a bundle of abandonment issues, really. It’s just the clarity that comes with distance lets Cat (and her ego, architect of too many bad life decisions) see Kara’s devotion for what it always has been: an all-consuming, visible-from-space crush.
Only Kara doesn’t get over it with a few shots of toxic alcohol, or with a boy toy to chew up and spit out. Those have always been Cat’s preferred methods of forgetting, of moving on. She even pushes Kara into Lena Luthor’s path, carefully orchestrated via Snapper. The reports of Lena’s latent lesbianism may be more alliterative than substantive, but if it’s a CEO Kara needs to idolize, then Lena has the job title to match.
Nothing. Just an earnest friendship. Even letting the girl buy a controlling stake in CatCo doesn’t transform her into the new object of Kara’s overabundant affections, and Lena ends up with James instead. Whether from a yurt or the White House, Cat is frustrated that her usual skill at directing people is falling short on every front.
And still, on the rare occasions she sees Kara (more often than not as her alter ego, presumably because Kara thinks that’s the side Cat would be more likely to fall for) there’s that undercurrent of longing. The texts that trail off into ambiguous emoji, the emails attached to articles that ask a little too pointedly when Cat is next coming home.
Cat has willpower, well, more like an iron will, but even she is sorely tested by Kara’s metaphorical yellow ribbon and her relentless patience. It would be so easy to answer the unasked question, to invite Kara to a discreet hotel in DC, or simply start the conversation that would let Kara unburden herself of the torch she’s still carrying.
But there’s that ego again, because Cat can’t quite resist the notion of a gorgeous, superpowered, thoughtful twenty-six year old pining for her.
Then the next invasion comes, levelling buildings in the nation’s capital, and damaging part of the White House itself. The president is, thankfully, out of the country. Cat hears the terrified people around her are calling for Superman, for anyone really, but when Cat looks up to see who’s lifting the rubble above their heads, she senses Kara’s presence before seeing that familiar flash of blue, red, and blonde.
“You know,” Cat says as strong arms reach beneath her bruised and lightly bleeding legs. “Some would call this carpetbagging.”
“It’s not like Washington has many heroes of its own,” Kara points out. “It’s good to see you, Cat. I’m taking you straight to the hospital.”
“I’m fine, Kara,” she insists, breaking the unspoken arrangement without realizing. “Let a paramedic clean me up and when everyone else is safe, then you can take me home.”
It takes three hours and a lot of antiseptic wipes, but at long last Cat is welcoming Kara into her townhouse, quiet with Carter off at science camp.
They have so much to talk about, Cat has so many reasonable objections, but coming close to death has always made her say fuck it. It’s not like she can get a word in edgeways, not with Kara kissing her senseless, shedding the dusty supersuit as she guides Cat upstairs. Does Kara use x-ray vision to find the bedroom? Cat never quite gets around to asking, her torn clothing coming off all too easily under those strong hands.
It’s only afterwards, lying naked and wrapped in Kara’s arms, that Cat finally lets herself cry. She weeps for the colleagues lost and wounded, for a country shaken to its core again. She cries for the people so consumed by hate that they thought killing others would make it better somehow. Most of all, she cries in relief that this terrible day has ended with something so beautiful, has ended with Kara and all the comfort she brings.
The doubts persist, even after being touched so reverently, after seeing how desperately Kara needed to come at Cat’s touch. The doubts have to be voiced, sooner rather than later, so not for the first time Cat speaks before thinking it all the way through.
“Could you ever be happy with me? Really, Kara? Is this just the adrenaline talking, or were you so pissed at losing me that you’re just trying to even some cosmic score?”
“Could I...?” Kara sits up, dislodging Cat from their intimate embrace. “What kind of question is that? I’m already happier, being with you like this. Could I be happy with you? All I know is I’m miserable without you, so it can only be an improvement.”
“Your crush-”
“Don’t.” Supergirl firmness as Kara closes her eyes, raising a hand for emphasis. “Don’t dismiss me like that. I’m not a girl, even if you chose that name for me. I’m not frivolous or shallow. What I feel for you, what I have felt for you for so long... a crush doesn’t even begin to cover it. What about you? Is this just to get me out of your system?”
It would be a handy line to hang it on, an easy way out. But Cat Grant hasn’t taken the easy path since it got a woman killed, almost thirty years ago. “You’re right. It’s more than that. It always has been.”
“I waited,” Kara agrees. “I know how precious time is, how wrong it is to waste even a second, and still I waited. For you.”
“Well it took leveling half a city, but you got me, Supergirl. I suppose the question is what are you going to do with me now?”
Kara waggles her eyebrows, breaking the tension as they both dissolve into helpless laughter. “I’ve got a few ideas,” Kara says around a kiss as they gather themselves, fitting back together like they were never separated in the first place.

3x05 THOUGHTS (in order of appearance)
- the first emergency was nice, I mean it was in the promos so we kinda knew about it, though it was fun
- HAPPY LESBIANS?????????? YES PLEASE? They’re so cute I’d be their child
- lawsuit time
- we all kinda question ourselves about the chimney experience, and why did he get back so fast.
- Also, Jesus Christ, Buck looks helpless when he sees that his lawyer is using the “personal stuff” (-Eddie) against them, so that sucks.
- The thing about Bobby’s alcholism? I gasped? Because WHY WOULD YOU BRING THAT UP I-
- The elevator thingy hurt, though I expected it to.
- D U C K S
- you just know that was going to end badly, no matter what happened.
- ALSO CHIMNEY’S “Oh, you withheld information from the team, how’s that working out for you?” WE STAN ROASTING CHIMNEY
- that asshole deserved bobby being mad at him, like, AND HE ALSO AKED FOR THEM TO NOT DIE IN HIS PROPERTY??????
- when I saw May and Michael in the car, I was so scared I was like “KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD MICHAEL”, but that wasn’t the problem, also, my hands started shaking when the police got the gun out. Literally.
- Good shows have lessons about racism
- Nobody messing with Athena fucking Grant
- Eddie dropping off Christopher, my heart exploding. (likeeddie’stemper)
- that douchebag deserved it, I mean I knew things were about to go down the moment he showed up
- and of course he called lena. But he even explains it, and that checks out. ( he was going to call buck, that’s the first person he thought about, but guess who’s doing a lawsuit)
- Buck of course he would drop charges. suck it lawyer
- streetfight? I- okay
-R*nda. Of course she was going to do a fight club scene, that was cringey, but no complaints
- BOBBY AND MICHAEL BONDING
- Michael’s speech to harry. My heart-  (I cried)
- S U P E R M A R K E T
- Okay so, Buck going to the place he KNOWS they’d be.
- ANGRY BF!EDDIE
- he makes valid points and ofc he deserved to be mad, also you can’t hide the fact that buck didn’t think about Christopher missing him, BECAUSE HE THOUGHT THE DIAZ BOYS WOULDN’T MISS HIM.  so you see the face when he realizes they do.
- Can we just focus for a sec in lena’s face when Eddie says that buck couldn’t even bail him out of jail? she’s like “oh boy, what have you done”
- I wished I'd see more of that argument tbh. But, when Eddie’s started talking I noticed the crash.
- SAD LESBIANS? I CRIED AGAIN.
-KAREN THIS AIN’T YOUR FAULT, YOU CAN ADOPT ME IF YOU WANT, I CAN BE YOUR CHILD.
- they tricked us in the promo, that scene went differently, BUCK’S BACK
- though, I'm scared they won’t trust him, they have all the right to.
- Ending was nice, I liked the fact that they made Lena giving buck the hammer and smashing things with her.
- ALSO BUCK IMMIDIATELY ASKING FOR EDDIE
- Eddie gets a speech!!!!!
last thoughts
- I wish I could’ve seen more of Maddie, but I think she’s having a big role next week.
- This season is a try not to cry challenge and I'm fucking losing every episode
- there hasn’t been an episode where my hands didn’t shake or I didn't cry.
- I thought I'd be ready for next week, but here I am, not emotionally prepared

When I fumbled in yet another attempt to write a poem.
I just watched Lena Waithe talk
about the comedy (sort of) sketch of her
coming out as a lesbian to her family--
the one that earned her universal accolades--
on The Daily Show.
She spoke about 'going
all out', writing all your vulnerabilities
on a huge white bedsheet,
in bold letters, with black paint;
and holding it out for everyone to see --
like lonely helpless children
looking for Father.
While she spoke, I felt her palms
cupped about my distraught heart.
Write it out, for yourself.
On torn white sheets, a word
on each piece.
Lying haphazardly all around me
on the floor, warm, soft fabric:
bits of me. Really hot tears,
‎intense breaths diffusing in gasps!
‎Wisps into which my soul fractured!
I blared music to flood my ears,
‎while I considered banished thoughts;
‎hastily scratched-out poems (no one
‎should read this!) from beneath the pile
‎at the back of my head. A sufi choir sang the chorus of the qawwali--
Thousand claps rained, where it
pained the most. Sweet high-strung
melody slid effortlessly along the
ravines of the raaga -- God be praised --
my handwriting changed. Stopped
hiding secrets in the cursive curves.
The strokes took pride in being incomplete,
while I frantically shoved about in
unkemptness, looking for
a new pen.

Shamsi (Ch. 1)
A Pharmercy fic with bonus Mercymaker, Gabe Angst, and the Talon Trio
Summary: Captured by Talon, Mercy reluctantly cooperates and shares her knowledge with them to keep Pharah safe. But there’s more than one familiar face hidden in the shadows, and old loyalties collide with new motives as they try to figure out who they can trust, and how they can get out alive.
Or, Angela tries to save Fareeha, Gabe, and Amélie but forgets to save herself.
Read on AO3
HUGE thanks to @superbibliophile and @ebrieta for beta reading and being my overwatch senseis
“Mercy – ”
“On my way.” She stepped back from Genji and shot into the air, drifting to a halt next to Pharah and pulling out her staff. She frowned at the chunk of exposed, bleeding flesh on Pharah’s side. It wouldn’t be there for long, but it was still worrisome, especially out here in the cold; exposed skin wasn’t far off from frostbitten skin. “What happened?”
“Rocket grazed me. I would not have asked for you, except for the weather.”
“Well, I would’ve come regardless,” she said with the slightest playful smile. “And anyways, Winston has everyone shielded down there. They seem more focused on you.”
“They are exposed from above,” said Pharah. She looked like she was going to say something more, but she grabbed Mercy’s free hand and pulled her to the side, just moments before a rocket shot past. She squeezed Mercy’s hand. “You’re too exposed here. I can take their fire, but you – ”
“You still need healing,” Mercy rebutted. She was unfazed by the explosions around them, her attention focused on Pharah’s wound. While she was, of course, listening to the comms for calls for help, the ground team did have things considerably well-handled. It was Pharah who was getting the brunt of the damage. “I’m surprised this is the only major injury you have.”
Pharah’s face was hard to see given the visor and the wind whipping dust and snow around them, but Mercy could tell she had an eyebrow raised just from hearing her voice. “That is because I am nimble. You, on the other hand, are slow.”
“Not that slow!”
“You, Dr. Ziegler, are slow.”
“Perhaps,” she allowed.
Winston’s voice on the comms interrupted them. “Pharah. Can you go in closer and draw more of their fire? We’re going on the offensive down here. Mercy?”
“On my way…one moment. Pharah still needs me.”
“Mercy, you can’t sustain the kind of damage she’s about to take.”
“Neither can she in her condition.” That was…maybe a stretch, but she’d feel more comfortable sending the love of her life to get all manner of explosives shot at her if she was a little bit closer to full health.
“Pharah?”
Silence for a moment, then a quick but sure, “I will be fine.”
“Mercy, disengage.”
She knew what Pharah was doing; she’d done it so many times, putting herself at risk to keep Mercy safe. But keeping her team safe was Mercy’s job. Aside from shooting nearly useless little pellets, all she could do for the people she cared about was watch their backs and heal them, and yet, they wouldn’t let her. Mercy closed her eyes and exhaled. This wasn’t about her. This was about her team. This was about the world. If they thought this was best, she had to trust them. “Heading to you, Winston.”
When she opened her eyes, she saw a flash of light and then sudden nothingness.
xXx
Pharah was watching Mercy make up her mind and getting ready to throw the healer to the ground if that was what it took. She wasn’t watching the ground. She didn’t see the missile until just before it struck.
It hit Mercy’s right side, blowing off her wing, knocking the staff from her hand, her arm – she plummeted. Pharah dove, scooping the unconscious woman from the air. An immense pressure hit her back and she screamed as she fell, but her grip on the woman in her arms only tightened as she curled her armored body around Mercy’s small, limp form. Her tattered wings slowed the fall but not enough, not enough to control where they were falling or to see where they would land.
The snow saved them. Thick and untouched and almost muffling the shouting in her ear.
“Pharah, report! Mercy, report! Report!”
“Alive,” she croaked. “One…moment.”
She was alive, saved by her armor and the strength of her wings, but was Mercy? Mercy, who had neither? Gingerly, almost afraid, she pulled her body away from Mercy’s. Her right wing was completely gone, there was blood on the side of her head and her arm…too much blood to see. But her chest…the rise and fall was still there. Shallow, but there.
Pharah choked back a sob. “Mercy is alive, but unconscious and injured…my suit is damaged.”
Silence. “Can you hold out?”
“How long?”
“Until we take the point.” A beat. “We need this, Pharah.”
“I know.”
“So?”
“We signed up for this. Do what needs to be done. Worry about us after.”
“Understood.”
“Understood.” But she didn’t want to agree to sit here like helpless, injured, freezing targets. If it were just her, she would demand they push forward and leave her behind. She wouldn’t let them even think of coming back for her until their mission was complete. But it wasn’t just her.
Gently, gently, she scooped her back into her arms and pressed her face into Angela’s. Her tears were cold and she felt terrible for making Mercy even the tiniest bit less warm. She was already so cold. Was this the first time Mercy had been injured? Of course not. But it was the first time it was on Pharah’s watch. It was the first time she could look at her love and know that each and every wound was her fault. She shouldn’t have asked for healing. She shouldn’t have let Mercy argue. She should’ve been paying attention.
“Angela,” she murmured, holding the woman close. “Shamsi. Do not leave me now. Do not leave me now.”
xXx
Angela woke up, and she was warm. No, her face was warm. She was cold. She was in pain. A deep moan escaped her body.
Then she felt arms tighten around her and lips brush her forehead. She knew those lips. “Fareeha?” her voice was faint and pained.
“Yes, shamsi, yes, I am here.”
Sun. No, Fareeha was her sun, warm brown face and brightly glowing eyes. “You saved me.”
Now Fareeha looked as pained as Angela felt. “I am sorry,” she said, finally. “I should have seen it coming. I should have protected you.”
“You did protect me.” She smiled, half-reassuring, half a wince at the pain in her arm. She almost didn’t want to look. “You caught me. That is the only reason all of me doesn’t feel like my arm does…how bad is it.”
“You should have never been struck, though,” she murmured. “I was distracted. I shouldn’t have been distracted.”
“You were trying to keep me safe.”
Fareeha shook her head slightly. She couldn’t disagree with that, but that didn’t change the situation they were in right now. Angela wasn’t going to let her blame herself, even though she deserved that blame, so she shifted the conversation. Angela would see through that, but at least her arm was something that needed talking about. “Your arm is…it is shredded, Angela. It is too bloody for me to see much.”
Ah. Maybe that accounted for some of the pain, but it felt the same way it had the last time she’d broken it. That was not good. “What supplies do we have?”
“…none. Angela, what can I do? No, do not talk. It sounds like it hurts.”
“It does hurt,” she said with a little laugh. “But…I’ve had worse. That time in Numbani?”
She saw the blood drain from Fareeha’s face. “I thought you were dead.”
“I did too. Brain contusions, stomach lacerations, multiple bullet wounds in the chest area, a shattered knee, 3 broken ribs, a broken arm…”
“Do you have to do that?”
“What?”
“Talk about being hurt. I cannot stand it.”
“The injuries?” Angela’s voice was almost playful.
“No, you with the injuries. You know that.”
“Fareeha…it’s not your fault.”
“This time it is.”
“And last time we could blame Winston, time before that Lena, if I blamed whoever was next to me when I got hurt everyone on the team would be responsible.”
“But this time –”
“Fareeha. Please.” Her voice was firm. “Stop. The only time it could be yours or anyone’s fault is if you turned around and shot me yourself. I’m a field medic. I signed up for this. I know what the job entails.”
“Still…” She sounded like she wanted to argue, but didn’t, thankfully. “I just do not like to see you in pain. Because, there is nothing I can do. I am helpless.”
“You are not helpless. Your beautiful face is distracting me.” She giggled. “It’s better than staring at Reinhardt’s grizzled old mug.”
“He did not look so bad when he was younger,” Fareeha mused.
“You were a child!”
“Children have eyes.”
“You were a lesbian child!”
“And you were a lesbian teenager, but we both know he was a looker.”
“Fair,” Angela admitted. “Though, if I had to pick a guy from the original team, it would be Gabe.”
“Really. Not Jack?”
She stuck out her tongue. “He’s too pretty.”
“Are you saying I’m not pretty?” Fareeha said with a raised eyebrow.
“No, you’re beautiful. He was a pretty boy. And gay. Gabe reminds me of you, though.”
“You thought he was beautiful?”
“No…I think he was strong, and tough, and determined, like someone else I know.”
Fareeha leaned down to kiss her forehead, lips somehow still warm despite the icy air. Angela knew it was because she herself was so much colder in comparison, but she’d like to think it was Fareeha’s natural fire seeping through. “Are you talking about yourself?”
“Hardly. That would be awfully self-centered, wouldn’t it.”
“I know Lena would agree with me.”
Angela blushed slightly. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You know she is in love with you.”
“‘In love’ isn’t the phrase I would use.”
“Infatuated, then. You just have that effect on people.”
“What, I seduce them?”
“No, you are just…you are hard not to love.”
“Is that how I got you?” Angela smiled sweetly. “It was just impossible for you to not love me so much you’d crash land in the snow to save my life?”
“Mmm, you could say that.” She bit her lip, and Angela saw her glance at her arm. The bleeding had slowed, but it still looked like a disaster.
“It’s okay,” she murmured. “You just called me strong, didn’t you? It’s not that bad. It’s better in your arms and talking to you. When’s the last time we had more than a few minutes alone?”
Fareeha was silent, visibly thinking hard.
“Exactly,” Angela laughed. “See, this is actually a good thing.”
“If you ignore the mangled arm.”
“Which I’m actively trying to do.”
“Of course.” But she couldn’t quite hide the worry on her face. Fareeha spoke into the comm, putting it on speaker so they could both hear. “Mission status?”
There was silence, but someone was breathing. “This is Pharah. Mission status?”
Laughter that could only be described as dark filled the silent air. The voice that spoke was likewise dark and gravelly and unmistakable. “Mission failed. Coordinates obtained. Extraction team incoming.”

Nightmares supergirl fic
A.N. This fic is rather angsty so just a warning It has some implied sanvers Night mares LENA For Lena she has suffered from night mares since her mother's death she honestly can barely remember a time before them before the sleepless nights tossing and turning scared of closing her eyes for fear of what would greet her in her dreams. Some nights it was the car crash that killed her mother it was a blurry memory but each time she dreams it she feels each emotion of panic course through her and the moments of realization that come after when she wakes up alone and cold in bed she can not help but let a few tears fall. Lionell would stand over her his eyes kind and caring then suddenly the scene would change turning darker she would shrink more into herself as she knew what was coming the yelling the anger as Lillian would enter her eyes cold and calculating. She would argue that Lena did not belong that she was worthless to them what use was taking the child in. Lionel would start to cough suddenly unable to breath he would grow paler and fall to the floor, and just like clock work she would run to him Lilian holding her back keeping her from helping the closest thing she had to a good parent. Lilian never offered any comfort no she seemed to blame Lena for his death. “ you see what you have done girl you killed him” Lilian would spit at her. Her eyes were filled with tears she was trying not to allow them to spill out Lillian always took that for weakness. “ I didn't mean to mom i didn't mean to!” she would desperately beg holding onto her adoptive mother's leg trying to beg her to give her some sort of consolation in her time of loss . Lilian would push her away and shew her to her room and as she entered she would hear the door lock. On the darker nights she dreams of Lex and how he changed seeing him slowly transform into the monster the world knows right in front of her eyes she sees his love change to red hot hatred. Her older brother grabbing her by the neck and killing her others it was torture each time she woke up gasping for air terror and heartbreak all melding into one. Lillian soon became a constant her disapproval and in ability to love Lena showing through each night Lena found herself helpless in the arms of a cyborg trying desperately to fight against the inevitable of LIllian's control. Those nights were some of the worst those nights she would send a text to Kara and schedule lunch for the next day she needed to see someone who cared someone who was not going to let her family hurt her. JAMES For James it was losing what he had James had lost his father to a war he had lost his mother to cancer years later he did not want to loose any more people he was not going to let go without a struggle. He had to keep them safe he had to fight this time he was going to take control he could not lose that control if he lost that he could lose the people he cared about most and that's what filled his night mares losing them letting his friends and loved ones down having to stand by and see them die without being able to do anything about it. It's why he had called Clark to save Kara. it's why he had to help people as guardian. “ Dad don’t go you will get hurt please stay” he begged gripping his father's arm tightly and trying to pull him back into the house. He had tears at the edge of his eyes his tiny body doing the best it could to hold back the much larger man. His father turned towards him, the man's smile so much like James own he was the spitting image of his father. His dad simply rubbed the top of his head and bent down to give the young boy a hug he held on tight as if maybe if he squeezed hard enough it would be real and his father would stay away from someone else's war. But he got up and turned around with the large pack thrown over his shoulder he walked away into a blinding light and James knew he was not going to come back. He sat waiting on the porch looking into the light for what seemed like years but all that came back was a flag. James did not often suffer from night mares but when he did they stayed with him into the next day. He would see his friends and remember the horrors of his nightmare and he would cling just a little to them that day asking how they were feeling and making sure nothing happened to them. He would wake up at night in a cold sweat and he would immediately have to check and make sure everyone was ok he often ends up going on a late night patrol after those dreams trying to clear his head and it does not hurt that he gets to help some people in the process. Some days it was hard to keep going after the dreams but others he could soldier though he was strong he had to be he needed to be not just for himself but for others he knew Kara was worried about him she had noticed how tired he had looked last time they talked. He hated lying to her about anything but he would not burden her with this she already had enough weight to hold on her shoulders this was his burden and he was determined to work through it on his own. MAGGIE Maggie did not have night mares or so she claimed but the times alex would wake up to see her girlfriend tossing and turning in their bed mumbling and begging for something to stop she knew differently she knew Maggie would talk about it when she needed to but until then she would do what the could to calm her girlfriend. Most nights when the detective has nightmares they are of her family her father and his hate for her every doubt is thrown back into her face those nights she wonders if they would ever have loved her if they had known when she was born that she was lesbian. Would they have cared for her like they had would she have gotten the same loving care she had in her early years. Other nights she was terrified of losing alex of her past coming back and driving the best thing she had ever had away. That Alex would suddenly realize that she could do better and leave that the detective would not be enough to keep alex loving her. She had nightmares about being unwanted and unloved of not adding up to the expectations of those she cared for. She had nightmares of re-living the horrible abandonment of her youth the youth that had broken her heart again and again. When she woke up she would always pull Alex closer listening to her girlfriends heart beat trying to reassure herself that she would not lose her. After Alex’s abduction Maggie’s nightmares changed to those of having to watch helplessly as the woman she loved was hurt and tortured and drowned she eventually told Alex about those ones to which her girlfriend would alway comfort her trying to reassure her that she was there and she was real. Mg’ann After all the years she had thought that maybe the night mares would lessen but she was always mistaken when every night just like clockwork no matter how much meditation she did before going to sleep she would find herself trapped back on mars. She was face to face with a version of herself that made her sick to her stomach the version that could kill without thought or feeling the version that she was always scared she would become, just like every other white martian full of hate and bloodlust. She may have escaped mars and the torment her people inflicted on others but she was not able to escape the torment of her dreams. After meeting j’onn her dreams had shifted some nights she dreamt of the planet at peace both white and green martians living together in peace but those dreams soon changed morphing into a nightmare where soon she found the white martians slaughtering innocents as she tried to get them to safety. Even after trying to go back and change her people they would not go away the deep seated fear of her own kind left her scared and alone in the middle of the night. WINN He only had nightmares a few times a month but when he did he would close himself off to the rest of the world his friends became a bit more distant his smiles not as bright. His had been filled with the thought of how he could become the man his father was, how he had never seen the anger in his father. In his nightmares he became the villain standing by his father's side killing innocents simply for the fun of it and it scared him more than anything in the world. He was seeing the DEO therapist for it J’onn had recommended it and by that he meant that J’onn had taken him to the therapist and explained that the dreams were powerful enough that when he once had one at the DEO J’onn had been able to feel the effects of the dream himself. The sessions had helped with him dealing with the aftermath of the dreams. He had never told anyone else about them but whenever he had them J’onn always seemed to know and went a little bit easier on the computer nerd that day. J’ONN His nightmares hit late at night almost every other day he would wake from his sleep like state with the picture of his family flashing behind his eyelids. If he tried to go back to sleep those nights all that he could dream of was flames and screaming, those nights caused him to be more snappish during the day. He eventually would get back to sleep on those nights and would wake a few hours later in a foul mood. J’onn cept many of his emotions inside as he knew unlike his home planet here they would not be able to fully understand his pain and loss. Some days he would try and recreate an image of his family others he would just keep his chin up and work on he would soldier through the pain and loss he loved his family and he loves his new family just as much and he will be strong for them, for them he will fight through the nightmares and he will continue to work he will use his fear to motivate him he will turn fear and anger into strength to help his new world and his adoptive family. A.N. Thanks for reading hope this turned out ok I worked for a while on this one I made my self feel stuff. I'm sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes

The problem with Women and Superhero shows
You know what’s really frustrating? How many TV shows, especially  superhero TV shows aimed at young people absolutely refuse to do something as simple as make sure that their show is gender balanced.Or show female characters have any connection with other women. Superhero shows are meant to inspire us, to show us a better way and yet they seem to hate the very idea of actually spending any time on female characters
Just look at all the TV shows we had till now .Can you think of one show where the the men don’t outnumber the women? Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Agent Carter.......the only one which actually bothered to some degree  was Agents of Shield*
Arrow is horrible when it comes to it’s treatment of female characters. We all know that. But they are also horrible when it comes to the actual presence of female characters.. And they don’t learn. Oliver’s new team of vigilantes had a 3;1 male to female ratio. Was there ANYTHING preventing them from making Rene or Rory a girl? And look at how isolated Felicity is from other girls. She has zero female friends
The Flash is also very much a guy show and Caitlin and Iris barely even interact with each other. Again was there anything to prevent Julian from being a girl? No. They absolutely refuse to include more female characters
Legends of Tomorrow has a two girl maximum. At least in the first seaosn Sara and Kendra were friends but now Sara barely even seems to talk to Amaya. And again there was nothing preventing them from making Nate a girl. Hell his issues with being sheltered and feeling helpless his whole life would have been even more impact if he was a girl
And the few shows we have which are supposed to be about girls? They are cringe inducing when it comes to these issues and absolutely get worse with time
Agent Carter was male dominated and the only somewhat female light in the show was Carter’s friendship with Angie. And they snuffed this completely in the second season in favor of a shitty love triangle. And don’t get me started in how they took a brilliant female historical figure and turned her into a pathetic villain
Supergirl is probably the worse when it comes to this. Look at how the show started. Although Winn has improved he started as a creepy toxic male geek. One of his very first lines was thinking that Kara was a lesbian because she didn’t want him. And when Kara turned him down he made her feel guilty and apologize to him. And he was presented as her best and ONLY friend. Kara Danvers had no female friends. Do you realize how insane this is?. Still season 1 wasn’t quite as bad. Kara had Cat as a female mentor, she overcome her hesitancy and develop respect and friendship with Lucy and James although he had a few minor glitches like his reaction to the Red Kryptonite was a goddamn awesome and healthy male character. But in season 2?
Although the introduction of Maggie and her realtionship with Alex is excellent it’s the ONLY bright spot. Everything else ruined the little they had. They ditched Cat in favor of Snapper, Lucy disappeared in the void of unappreciated female characters and instead we got freaking Mon El. The very definition of bland pretty boy. James was turned into some fragile insecure boy who feel threatened by by Kara’s status, Winn actually actively sabotaged Kara just so he and James can shine and again don’t get me started on Mon El. M’gann should have been one of the bright sides of this season but he was barely used. We got see more of Mon El’s fuck then of a fascinating and complex character like M’gann. The ONLY female friend Kara has is Lena and you know they are going to fuck with this,
Literally all of these shows actively isolate women from interacting with other women. Female friendship is treated as some flaky thing that can easily be ignored and erase while male friendship is celebrated and iconic. Just look at Oliver and Diggle, Barry and Cisco. On Legends they pushed Nate and Ray and Ray and Mick to bond and become friends  while Mick and Snart were beyond celebrated and iconic. On Supergirl they put more attention on Winn and James friendship then on any interaction Kara had with a girl that wasn’t her sister
Female friendships gets none of this. The closest we ever came was Carter and Angie’s and Sara and Kendra’s (and come to think of Sara and Sin) . And all of them got only a fraction of the time spent on male friendships and was erased completely later on never to be mentioned again
The only chance girls get when it comes to friendship is with male characters and this is often either a prelude to or baiting of a realtionship
THIS IS FUCKED UP. THIS IS DELIBERATE . WOMEN DESERVE MORE
*I am not gonna get into the Netflix shows as well since this already got too long but they have their own issues as well. Not quite as horrible as the CW shows but still bad

Lena's crush on Kara was hopeless for a multitude of reasons: Kara was probably (possibly?) straight, she was dating a helpless frat boy, and she was Lena's best (only) friend in National City. Then, to add to that list: Lena banished Kara's boyfriend into space. And she wasn't even sorry about it.
2. Jealous!Lena (In which Lena can't decide whether she likes pool or space metaphors better, but she does know that Kara is too good for her.)

Supergirl 3.03 Watch
-Watching Supergirl after it airs has some reason lowered my anxiety by like 89% -THEY BROUGHT BACK THE INTRO THANK GOD -I wish they used the actual theme though. the fuck is this music
-”lesbian wedding shower”????? what about just wedding shower -I’m Alex -J’onn is literally the only one who makes sure the DEO is managed when he leaves. Everyone else just flies off and hope they have a job when they get back -”the whites have been trying to kill your kind” wow...the subtext there is real. good. -Kara helping and supporting her friends again -YOU JUST GONNA WALK AROUND IN THE SUIT LIKE ITS NORMAL OKAY -also I fucking love this scene -its so S1 Kara and her relationship with J’onn and them just being buds and Spacedad and baby Kara and yes thanks -Kara concerned with seatbelts...of fucking course she would be. the girl’s almost immortal and here we are. she’s really more human than she thinks -IS THIS THE FIRST TIME MAGGIE HAS MET ELIZA -cue the obligatory “tragic gay” story -i have a feeling Lena’s absent from this one -YES M’GANN I HAVE MISSED YOU -y’all run weird. all of you run weird. -i don’t want to be rude and like good for J’onn that he’s not the last green martian but like really? how many times is this story gonna be used? J’onn already thought there was another green martian once. the last Kryptonian. oh no there’s Kal.  -an also that’s way to coincidental. sometimes I just can’t suspend my disbelief and J’onn’s father being the only other green martian left is one of those smh moments -this is like the most J’onn has ever talked in one episode -Is this Sanvers realizing they barely know each other and somehow ended up engaged???? cause like we all knew that already -Maggie is the “wears a shirt thats almost too small” gay and Alex is the “wears an obviously too large shirt” gay -”my son would never have feld” - that had to have been a stab to the heart -Maggie just like...that phone call was actually really courageous -”every day” - OH I HAVE ONLY BEEN YELLING ABOUT THAT FOR THREE FUCKING YEARS. KARA THINKS ABOUT KRYPTON AND HER FAMILY EVERY FUCKING DAY FIGHT ME. -these cuts are really fast -...how did his father turn into a human form when he’s never been to Earth... -Actually this is the most unbelievable part of the episode. they don’t know this many people -”the woman I’m going to marry” OH MY GOD COULD YOU STOP BECAUSE IT HURTS. I KNOW YOU’RE LEADING ME ON -that’s the cheesiest, gayest shit, like you can leave -oh and he did -...that was...very bad timing... -the building the wall thing doesn’t fit because the president isn’t the same....so that’s not happening in the world of Supergirl. I know they try to be topical but they also need to kind of stick to their own canon here -also like the hatred Maggie is facing is from you so like maybe you need a little introspection -You know what I don’t have a problem with? Kara not being the main focus of every episode when the main focus of that episode isn’t offensive. So, like J’onn, Alex, any of the superfriends, Lena, i’ll be fine with Sam as well -why is the cgi so absolutely terrible this year like come on guys. i know you’re cheap but you gotta cast the little girls so they don’t look so absolutely fake -WHAT THE FUCK -THIS IS FUCKING HILAROUS.  -GIVE ME MORE OF KARA PULLING UP IN AN OLD CAR LISTENING OT BRITNEY SPEARS -AND THEN PROCEEDING TO KICK ASS -that landing though 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 -why did M’gann have such a tiny part in this episode that was like, oh i don’t know, about Mars -take this extremely powerful weapon to a planet full of people who are almost entirely helpless against other planets and keep if there cause that’s not gonna cause any problems in the future -”you’re all the family I need” - YAS CHOSEN FAMILY. SPEAK ABOUT IT. -do not have the kid talk right now. i cannot stomach it. -i said don’t do it -NO -STOP -NO -STOP LYING -DON’T DRAG THIS ON TO THE INEVITABLE -I CAN’T -”you’re the strongest man and martian” hE SAID THAT TO HER IN EP 1 I’M CRYING -”she’s special” I’M SOBBING -I’m not mad at them yet this year so -that’s new -is that the PLL dude???? what the fuck????  -i am very interested in this cult thing
