Of course you and your (older?) brother got along well, I mean you're both kids of Hades, so what all could really be that different? Well a lot apparently.

See you had this lovely lovely tendency to disappear from well, everyone, and then end up in some stupid situation. Whether it be an argument with the sassiest nymph, or a battle with a freshly alive monster who has a bone to pick, or just stuck on a nearby roof that you have no way to get down from. You always just ended up in the worst situations in the strangest ways.

This time though, it was very obvious it was the second one. As you hobbled back to your cabin, you know that you should be worried about your wounds, or maybe even what the other campers think, but all you care about is how annoyed your brother was going to be. If he was even there.

Regardless, you slowly open the door, wincing at the contact of the dry and sanded wood with your scrapes. The door opens up to a somewhat less lit area compared to the dark night. But you still slowly limp to your bed, collapsing down onto the soft mattress that brings you an uncanny comfort.

"What did you do this time." You hear come from the dark abyss surrounding you, and usually you would flinch or maybe even grab out your weapon, but you were used to this. You slowly say up to face him, Nico Di Angelo, your brother. "Oh nothing much just ran into you know..." You say, mumbling the name of the monster you were fighting today.

"I don't know actually, why don't you tell me." He says, his voice sounding just as usually stern as it does when this happens. You can hear the unclipping of the first aid kit that was so graciously gifted to you from Will. "Just you know, a Dracaenae..." You say, flinching partially from the pain of the hydrogen peroxide hitting your cuts and the incoming reaction from Nico. However this time all you hear is a huff of annoyance and the opening of bandages.

"...Did you win?" He asks quietly, "Cause if you didn't we need to warn the campers to be careful if they leave camp.". You sit there silently for a minute, recounting the way that she turned into dust, and the way you almost collapsed from exhaustion. "Uh yeah, she did the dust explody thing." You say, softly kicking your legs like a little child does. You watch Nico close the first aid kit and then turn back around to face you. Before you really know it, his arms are wrapped around you, and a sigh of relief comes from him. "Thanks, for being okay." He says before pulling away and sitting down on his own bunk, doing whatever he decides was important.

As your head hits your pillow and the exhaustion truly arises, you can't help but feel appreciation from your brother. You know he cares, even if he shows it in his own fear-ridden way. And if you're being honest, that's all you really need from him.

Guys I'm so glad to be back to being able to write and post for y'all again, anyways I hope that you all enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Remember to drink water and eat something today :)

Hello Halo Hello! I hope your day, afternoon, night and so forth are going wonderously! May I ask and or request?

How would the demigod child of Prometheus get along with children of the big three or simply the pjo crew as a whole? And may I please request headcanons!?

P.S: thank you for your time for reading this!

Let’s go with the PJO crew this time, just to change stuff up! I will be referring to my consciously or deliberately { Prometheus Demigod H/C || [TUMBLR] // [AO3] } as reference and will be taking the short storyline I wrote in it as the basis. !!WARNING: LONG TEXT AHEAD!!

First and foremost, let’s talk about Percy because he’s the one who talked to Prometheus during the Second Titan War, and was the one who was handed the Pithos containing Elpis “Hope”. Since Percy was the one who had the most direct contact with Prometheus, he is the one to determine and evaluate the Prometheus demigod and the others' reactions depend on his call. 

I think the situation would go is that they’re notified that there’s a demigod child of Prometheus, and due to some political forewarning and possibly future damage/risk control, Chiron asks Percy, hence Annabeth, Grover, and a few others, about evaluating the demigod and so forth. Chiron has an idea because his father was Kronos and probably has met Prometheus, but it had been eons. Not to mention, he knows not all children end up like their parent(s) as he is a child of Kronos himself, and they are half-mortal, he needs a fresh pair of eyes on the matter. 

Percy probably remembers “Tux-Guy” and is probably conflicted because while Prometheus offered the parlay and talked all about their options to surrender because it’s the better option, Prometheus is the god of crafty counsel at the time. However, he would point out that the demigod child of Prometheus isn’t him either so they deserve a fair chance- especially since Zeus already dictated a punishment on them to be Hestia’s Flamekeeper which is already bad enough as it is. 

Even if we’re not following my partial story from my headcanons, the sentiment is the same regardless. If anything Percy would try to be a bit easier on them because it isn’t fair to be accounted by their godly parents’ actions  (especially when post-Gaia war as Percy has to get recommendation letters from the gods because Zeus still is salty that Poseidon broke the oath (even though Zeus also broke the rule-)), so he’ll try to warn them what Prometheus did and hopefully help them avoid getting Zeus’ ire. 

Annabeth would have her reserves but would follow Percy's judgement because when it comes to matters like these, she trusts him. She might voice of skepticism with how close the timeline of Prometheus being part of the 2nd Titan war, and the demigod being an agent of Prometheus’ schemes, and keep in mind not to trust the demigod of Prometheus wholly so quickly, but she wouldn’t be offended if she was wrong on that front, and gives them the benefit of the doubt.   Same goes with Grover. 

Thalia is a bit skeptical because she remembers her interaction with Prometheus along with Percy, how Prometheus called out her last name when she doesn’t like using it because of the connection it has to her mother, and Prometheus knew it would rile her up. But again, she’ll be following point on Percy, but she’s a lot slower to warm up to the Prometheus demigod. Then again, with Thalia’s nature, she would be still be skeptical on the fact a titan, especially one that was on the side of Kronos from the war, had a demigod and it so happened in their lifetimes- which could be a trick or ploy by the titan, which isn’t too out of the question with the power of forethought and being the titan of crafty counsel. She might be more sympathetic or less volatile to them when someone brings up Zeus punishing the demigod in place of Prometheus. When she finds out that Hestia is both their saviour and keeper of the Prometheus’ demigod, she might be conflicted because on one hand, being under a god’s eye might dissuade any potential harmful acts, but on one hand, its Hestia who is the least confrontational of all the gods, but at the same time, they’re also working as a Flameskeeper/Priest. 

Nico would be the most neutral because as the son of Hades, he knows what it's like to be ostracized by others based on their father, for one reason or another so he can’t really give any judgements. I don’t think he’ll go out of his way to get to know the Prometheus demigod nor would he turn away any interactions with them either if it just happens. He would have the most faith that being with Hestia is a good thing for various reasons and also because he trusts Hestia.

As for Jason and Hazel, Roman wise, I’m not entirely sure what Roman perspective they have towards Prometheus, whose name stays the same as well, but I know Ovid wrote about Prometheus in Metamorphoses so it is prevalent. I did hear that in one version by the Romans, Prometheus was married to Pandora instead of his brother? But don’t quote me on that since I’m still trying to find the source of that particular detail. 

Regardless, I think Jason would be wary like his sister because a demigod of a titan? Prometheus at that? Who he would know (in theory) was part of the Titan Army in the second titan war, so he would be cautious as a remnant of that time. When he hears Jupiter (well Zeus) already punished the demigod of Prometheus the moment they were claimed, he would feel sympathetic and tries to be on his best behaviour so he doesn’t want to trigger the child of Prometheus or be the reason the Prometheus demigod lashes out at them. 

Hazel would be sympathetic because she knows what it’s like to be pressured based on your parent’s actions and reputation; Prometheus and being the one who gave mankind fire, but in turn also was the one responsible for their misfortune; Hazel’s mother, Marie, ultimately being the source of everyone’s misfortune and ire with the cursed jewels. Given the opportunity, she would try to understand the child of Prometheus.

Frank would be a bit hesitant with the connection of fire but otherwise, he would still do his best to know the child of Prometheus given the chance.  He probably could sympathize with them, if we’re going with that they’re both put into a fixed fate that seems like they’re already sent to their doom by another god, but in the long run it’ll benefit them and is actually they’re lifeline; with Frank with Hera tying his fate to a burnt stick, Zeus and Hestia tying the Prometheus demigods fate to guarding Pandora’s Pithos/serving Hestia. Regardless, they both enjoy a cup of tea and share stories behind the fire, sharing bits of knowledge and stuff they’ve learned.

Piper wouldn’t have a problem with the Prometheus demigod and would be the one who would initially get to know them from the start; starting off making sure if they’re settling in alright and all that. Piper being a charm speaker might at some point, whether consciously or subconsciously, ask the child of Prometheus how they’re doing really and how they feel about it. She’s not going to have any opinions on them because she sympathizes with people's perception about them, as she had her own experience about her identity and whatnot. She’s down to lend an ear or chat with the child of Prometheus as they enjoy telling stories around the Hearth. 

Leo would be the only one who would be stoked that there’s a child of Prometheus because well he’s the son of Hephaestus and fire is part of their inherent birth. If the Prometheus demigod has the ability of fire, regardless how small it is, Leo would jump in to share his own experience and help them coach their abilities, if they’re ever lost or afraid. 

A/N: Overall, not too bad of a reaction and nothing too volatile of a reaction to a demigod of Prometheus! More or less, given that the child of Prometheus doesn’t outright do anything harmful or malicious to any of them, they’re more or less willing to give the demigod a chance. Pay Attention to Things That Most People Ignore ☆ LS2

warnings; monsters, typical pjo-type violence, logan is hopeless but that’s okay! some chb innacurracy sorry i havent read the books in a while, err very rushed writing im sorry, LAWD this is a mess i tell u 😭 perhaps i hate it — 3k words.

a/n; is the title... an all-american bitch lyric? yes. why? im not good and titles and i went to that song in instinct... for no reason. also this was based on a request — though i do admit its a little bit different as i would (hopefully) be making a part 2 hehe. by now im realizing how this title prob has nothin to do with the story

Over the years, she’s come to accept her life. Did it hurt when it felt like her entire life ended? Of course. Does it still hurt when she turns on the television to see them basically rubbing it on her face? —Whatever.

In theory, she probably could’ve gotten away with it had she not been a daughter of one of the big three—thanks a lot, dad. —but it was proven one too many times that it was not safe for her or any of the other kids. If it didn’t put anyone else’s life at risk, she would’ve disobeyed her mother, she really would (she was a child, she really hasn’t grasped the full concept of what other people would feel).

But, you know, oh well.

It’s sixteen years later and she still has that lingering grudge in the back of her head as the screen plays another Grand Prix — another Grand Prix she could’ve probably been a part of.

She tried, she really tried so hard to forget about it, to let go of it, but again, it was proven to be way too hard to let go of something she had an actual chance of, an actual good chance.

Though it might be hard to let go, she couldn’t really complain much about the life she actually had now.

Sure, it gets pretty lonely sometimes being a forbidden child, there weren’t exactly much of them (that are known and living at camp). But she had everyone else, despite practically being an only child at camp, to her everyone else there were her little siblings—of course, that probably has something to do with the fact that she was the oldest camper and the one who has been there longest.

When she heard a set of the all-too-familiar clops her heart dropped from its current fast-paced beating.

She quickly closed your laptop shut, cringing when you heard how loud of a sound it had made. That was it. She didn’t even try hiding her disappointment in herself. She slowly emerged from under the blanket with her lips tightly-wound shut, bracing herself with whatever the Centaur will have to say, her mind playing a quick telepathic farewell to her laptop.

“Hello, Y/N.”

She sighed, “Chiron.”

“Where and how?”

She swallowed the pre-existing nerves in her throat, “Mr. D.”

He hummed in response, so she continued.

“A pack of Heineken and two bottles of Jack Daniels.”

“Hm, good picks.” She responded lowly under her breath with a small ‘yeah’ as Chiron walked closer to the head of her bed near the bed-side table—his hooves making clopping noises each step.

The silence was taking too long to her liking so she just went to get it over with, “So, you’re gonna take it away from me?” she paused, then mumbling under her breath for herself, “—it’s probably another Red Bull win, anyway.”

Apparently, it was loud enough for the Centaur to hear, making him chuckle.

Surprisingly, he didn’t mention anything else about the laptop, “Who do you support?”

Hearing the question quickly made her look up from her fidgeting hands to see the smile on his face, she screwed her brows in confusion as she continues to look at Chiron for—something. Then, realizing that he was still waiting for an answer, she shook her head.

“Uhm—well, uh—”

“You think that Lando will ever get a win?”

That seemed to loosen her up, “Ugh, Gods, I hope. I’m getting exhausted over here—you know, sometimes I really wish I could ask the Oracle about it.”

He chuckled then which made her crack a smile.

When it died down, Chiron looked at her smiling face. He couldn’t help but frown a little, he knew how she felt about racing, he knew how she still feels about it.

“Y/N.”

She looks up at him, “Yeah?”

“So, I am aware that your birthday is nearing…”

“I mean… why wouldn’t you be? I’m here all-year-round.”

Chiron cleared his throat at her interruption, giving her a look.

“Sorry.”

He acknowledged and continued, “I am also aware that it lines up with a certain event…”

She raised an eyebrow it that, almost guessing what that said ‘event’ was.

“So,” he stopped, initially had her thinking he was just pausing but when he left out the door of her cabin she raised her hands as if saying ‘what gives?’

Seconds passed and it seemed like Chiron wasn’t going to come back any time soon so instead she stumbled off of her bed to quickly catch up to the Centaur that was headed to a building—the girl almost caught up to him, almost following him into the building but he was already back out in a good few seconds, stopping her right in front of the set of stairs, raising both her hands in question once more, “You just left. ‘So’, what?”

“I have it arranged that you will be attending the Miami Grand Prix.” He smiled as he handed her a lanyard.

She swore her eyes looked like it could’ve popped out of their sockets in a matter of seconds. She couldn’t believe what she was holding; a paddock pass. She couldn’t believe Chiron had done this for her considering how careful of a man (well, half-man) he is especially with her being a forbidden child. This was about to turn into the best birthday yet.

When she looked up to the smiling Chiron, her mouth still hung open in shock but her arms immediately wrapped around the man’s body in a bone-crushing hug.

She didn’t know how many ‘thank you’s that spilled out of her mouth but next thing she knew he was hugging her back with a chuckle escaping his lips.

After a few more ‘thank you’s from her, she pulled away smiling at him, “I thought you’d rather keep me here forever, why now?”

He cleared his throat, “Well, you are turning twenty-one, not many of you reach that kind of age—don’t tell them I said that—so I’d like to make it a bit more special.”

Still smiling, she looked at the paddock pass in her hand again, “You don’t know how much I appreciate this, Chi. Thank you, again.”

Being there felt… odd… unnatural.

She always thought if she were ever walking through the paddocks she would be walking as a driver.

What was even more odd was she felt her senses tingling, like she was being watched.

It was a bustling crowded place with many more interesting people compared to her, so it was weird to her that she felt like she was being watched of all people.

But alas, she brushed it off. It didn’t feel like anything bad—if it were, she would know—so she’s just going to have to save that thought for later.

She had to remind herself why she’s here; daydream in real-time of what could’ve been.

Yeah, she weren’t really keen on letting that go.

That is, until she was into her head she failed to notice the person—and group of people that came with said person—she was running into.

Before she knew it, a strong arm was holding her back with too much force for her liking, the action itself almost kicking in her self defense instinct until the person she did bump into pushed the hand away.

He was now talking to her, she assumed, but she was too focused on the person who had pushed her away.

Something about him felt… off. He was what she would count as freakishly huge for a normal human being, her eyes couldn’t help but recalculate the large man over and over until eventually the person that has been trying to get her attention snaps her out of it.

“Sorry, that’s Theo, he’s like that. I swear he doesn’t mean any harm.”

The scowl she hadn’t realized that made it’s way to her face slowly dropped as she slowly move her gaze to the person that was talking to her.

When their eyes met, she swore she saw a flash of something pass by his expression.

“Yeah,” she finally let go of this ‘Theo’ person and found her words, “Sorry I bumped into you.”

“That’s fine.” There was a brief silence across them until he cleared his throat, “I’m Logan, by the way.”

“Yeah, I know. You drive for Williams.” She replied flatly.

He cleared his throat again, scanning her for the shortest moment, “Do I know you?”

She looked to his eyes again with a small squint. “Most likely not. Good luck, bye.”

Before he could say anything else she was already speed-walking away. And for some odd reason, Logan found himself watching her walk away before getting pulled away himself just in the same time as the girl turned around to give a watchful eye.

It was getting annoying. This was supposed to be a weekend to enjoy but she could not help but feel that uneasiness creeping up on her. Over the years she had somewhat mastered the ability—well more the ability mastering her—of sensing bad things, whether that was events or creatures alike.

So, to simply put that together, that’s how she found herself sneaking around the Williams garage. Not hospitality, garage.

From years of quests here and there, many hours of weapons training, and not to mention capture the flag schemings with other campers, she had mastered the skill of being sneaky. It really did work well in her favor.

What she didn’t expect was to be completely entranced the moment she got into the busy garage; it was the first time she was seeing a real life-size F1 car in real-time.

Everything was so enchanting to her, it felt like she was reliving her childhood dreams all over again. When she had gone through with her plan, she didn’t really register the fact that she was going to go face to face with an actual working Formula One garage.

She really tried to stay focused on the task at hand but it really was in her blood to be unfocused.

“Hey!”

Somehow, just somehow, she had heard his voice over the loud noises around her and just somehow, she knew he was addressing her.

Immediately, she tried to hide or duck behind something—anything just so she didn’t have to face him.

Before she knew it a hand was gripping her upper arm and pulling her somewhere quieter and she was met with green eyes that looked at her with suspicion.

“Are you like a fan or something?”

She was taken aback by his words.

“…what?”

“Are you following me?”

“What—no. I mean not you specifically—why did I say that.” she whispered the last part to herself. If she was being honest, she hasn’t really been brushing up her skills in socializing with anyone else that weren’t the campers.

“What do you mean?”

“Nothing! I—”

Their conversation—if you could’ve called it that anyway—was interrupted by the same man she had been suspecting from earlier.

“There you are.” It was the first time she was hearing his voice and just by that she already knew that they were going to be in big trouble. His voice was low and unnerving, saying the words as if he’s been searching for them not for worried purposes rather unfortunate ones.

Logan didn’t seem to have the same feeling as her as he looked more relieved among other things to see the man. “Theo!” he greeted while throwing his hands in the air, “What’s up, man?”

Fortunately for Logan, Theo wasn’t exactly paying attention to him instead looking at the girl in front of him instead.

When he noticed he tried to interfere, “Oh, no, don’t worry about her, she’s not harmful.” He then realized he didn’t exactly know this girl so he looked at her with questioning eyes, “You aren’t, right?”

Except her focus didn’t waver from the big man that looked at her with a stare that tried to kill.

Logan, still clueless, looked between the two back and forth in confusion until Theo said something that really caught his attention.

“Daughter of Poseidon.” Theo growled.

Logan’s head couldn’t snap towards her faster.

“Shit.” She mumbled under her breath.

Before they knew it, she had grabbed a hold of his hand and running away with it, Logan still very much in shock at this new information he attained.

Through empty places and crowded ones, the girl forgot that the man she had ahold of weren’t just anyone but a very real and hard-to-miss Formula One driver. Sure, he was a rookie but a driver nonetheless.

But she couldn’t care less about the attention she was gaining; she was far too busy running for her life than think about cameras and the public.

“What the hell was he talking about? Poseidon?!” she didn’t answer his panicked question so he continued instead, “Are you a half-blood too?”

The ‘too’ in his question was what finally caught her attention but still, she didn’t answer him, only cursing herself for not noticing one when she saw one.

Just when she thought they had lost them, the monster once disguised as Theo was standing there at the end of the opening, she and Logan had slipped in.

Next thing she knew she was fumbling around trying to fight off the apparent Giant that was Theo.

“What the hell are you doing there, mind a little help over here?” she yelled over at Logan who was pretty much… useless in the corner.

He continued to panic, looking for anything he could use to get the Giant off of her.

Suddenly, while she was struggling to get the Giant’s grip off of her, the force stopped as a cloud of mist poofed where the monster was once before. She quickly scrambled herself up and was met with a figure in McLaren clothing holding a gold-dust colored weapon pointing at her.

“Oscar Piastri?!”

He didn’t answer her, dagger still pointing at her direction, “Who are you?”

Putting her hands out in defense she explained herself, “I respect that.” she commented, “I’m Y/N L/N, I am the daughter of Poseidon,” then she cautiously pointed at the Australian, “I’m assuming you’re a half-blood too.” she nodded at him, “Who do you belong to?”

Oscar then slowly lowered his weapon, his trust building by the minute, “Athena.”

Then both of them turn to Logan simultaneously.

“No!” he got defensive immediately, “I want to know what just happened!” he pointed accusingly.

All of a sudden, it just finally hit Oscar, “Poseidon?!”

The sea god’s daughter made a face and ignored the Australian, “What do you mean what just happened? Typical demigod stuff!”

The look on his face made her double-take, “You… do have occasional encounters with monsters here and there… right?”

When Logan’s expression doesn’t change, she turns to Oscar.

“I have this for a reason.” He said slowly, showing her the dagger. “—and, well, if I’m being honest, that has never happened before.”

“Shit.” she shakes her head in disappointment then pulling out her phone, “I need to make a phone call.”

She left the two men by themselves and went ahead as the line rings a couple of times before getting an answer.

After a brief conversation—that will continue later for details—the girl locked her phone and walked towards the two drivers.

“You’re coming with me this summer. It will not be up for debate and don’t worry about your… duties, I have it covered.”

Logan was quick to stop her explanations, “Wait—what—no! At least explain what the hell that phone call was about. You can’t just drop all that on us and expect us to be okay with it.

She rolls her eyes, “I’ll explain later, right now, you two have a job to do.” They didn’t object to that, the three of them walking out the pretty-hidden space the Giant had decided to corner them before.

Oscar stopped just outside, “I can take care of myself if anything else decide to come out and attack me, you should probably go with him. And uh, I actually need to talk to you,” he pointed at her, “—later. Not exactly letting you off the hook that easily.”

She didn’t complain.

The two walked in silence, every once in a while getting stopped for a picture and such, until Logan speaks up.

“Apollo.”

She turned to him, eyebrow raised.

“My dad.”

“Oh.” She paused then comments, “Fitting.”

He didn’t know what it was in her voice, it didn’t sound exactly like a compliment but he wasn’t sure if it was an insult.

Whatever, he shrugged it off.

After that, they both went into their own train of thoughts.

Without noticing, they both sucked in a breath in unison.

“I’m sorry for—”

“I think you should—”

The two quickly stepped back from whatever it was they were going to say, heat rushing up their necks. They kept walking on the awkward silence that fell upon them until Logan re-focused his attention and remembering what she had said—well, what she almost said earlier.

“Wait—‘sorry’? What were you apologizing for?” he turned to her who was now ducking away from his eyes, her own focus stayed on her fidgeting hands.

She made a noise before finally finding her words, “It’s just—this always happens, you know. I’m a forbidden kid, I attract the worst kind of trouble there is for half-bloods. And earlier; I had brought it to you and Oscar.” he was going to say something to ease her guilt but she beat him to it, “I’m just glad that monster didn’t hurt any of you.” She threw her hands in the air, “I mean, it’s qualifying day for Gods sake! —maybe I shouldn’t go to the race tomorrow.” She mumbled the last part to herself, though not quietly enough that the driver didn’t hear.

Logan was taken aback by her statement, giving him an opening on his almost-offer.

“What—no! Why not?” he asked.

“Look, it’s bad enough that there’s two demigods in one place; adding a forbidden kid in the mix won’t really make it any better. I still want everyone to have a safe race. Who knows what kind of other monsters I could attract.”

From every point of view Logan could gather, it was simply a fact that this girl knows about their world far more than he did, far more than Oscar did, so he couldn’t really be the voice of judgement in whatever she had to say. But… he wanted her to stay.

It calmed him down for some reason, knowing someone shares the same—if not, worse—fate as you.

So, he tried to find a reason, a good reason to make her stay. Of course, he wasn’t a pro at this half-blood thing so he offered something that he was familiar with. He gave her a more… human reason.

“I think you should stay.” He blurted.

“Logan—”

“Dude—is it alright if I called you that?”

“Uh, go nuts.”

“You deserve to have some fun, watch a race! I’ll even have you as an official Williams guest!”

She hummed with a smile creeping up.

Okay I dont mean this in any way hate-fully, but can I ask how on earth you found your way into the Grishaverse fandom through Kaz/Jordie?

(Spoiler, though I think you already know this inevitably) Jordie is already dead for most of the "screen" time of the books/shows, and i didn't really know of much of a Kazordie shipping culture in the fandom prior to seeing your blog. So like is most of the ship based on AUs? Or like haunting the narrative type stuff? Have you read the books/seen the show (and did that help/hinder your ship developing?)

Oh no no no don't apologize! I'm thankful for asking me questions! First and foremost, thanks for checking my blog. The answer is a bit lengthy, so bear with me.

I first got learn about SoC through fanfic. When I'm in the mood for something, I usually search fics via tags and don't care about the fandom.

Then I think I read a Jesper/Kaz and the first thing I thought was: Bossy, cynical teenager with trauma? Yeah he needs to get railed by a older man.

So I searched around for these fics, mostly Dead doves do not eat because I felt in the mood. I moved to Kaz/Jesper to Kaz/Darkling fics. I blame this fic for hooking me into it.

Then I realized Kaz had a brother and what do you know! It's tragic! So I looked Kaz/Jordie up. There weren't many fics in Ao3, but all of them were really well written.

And what does well written fics do? They hook me into whatever ship in that fic. So I got absolutely hooked. It was more of a dynamic I got really attached to. An male character seeking affection/validation from an older male figure despite knowing he can't or shouldn't. (Luke/Percy ship in pjo was a fueling factor too.) I am still OBSESSED with these kind of dynamic and on top of that, I love haunting the narrative types of tropes and stories, (Can't rec this fic enough. This is so good.) especially so if through romance. And I also love reading about, obsessed, devotion kind of love that blur every type of relationship labels.

I guess since Jordie is a dead character, it left me plenty of room for my brain to explore. Jordie is a empty bingo card when it comes to being a character in a fic. Yeah so usually Kaz/Jordie is up a lot to the author's interpretation, and I love that.

(The usual consensus of the fandom seems to see Jordie really tried to be a good brother and an adult for Kaz. I agree with that and I love reading pampering relationships too.) I'll take anything that could have a hint of Kaz/Jordie, but my absolute favorite is the came back from dead and searching Kaz, trope. Just the sheer miracle of it, that Kaz has something he wanted out of the blue makes a punch to Kaz's whole business oriented mindset.

Plus the past loved one meeting with the present version character? Peak angst and hurt/comfort potential.

And for the last part, I'm going to be real with you. I think the only Kaz/Jordie shipper that is active (Or maybe like the 3rd.) Kazordie altered my brain chemistry and made me pump out bunch of stories and characters, as well as getting me in to other fandoms. (Getting into spn in 25? Yeah, hello wincest people! You guys have another one.) I got into SoC to read about Kaz getting railed. Now, I have consumed a lot more information, especially because I didn't touch the original material.

So yeah, to put it short: THEY HAVE LATCHED TO MY BRAIN WRINKLES I CAN'T GET THEM OUT HELP

would be the conclusion.

Gimme more stories of cynical, pessimistic male character getting railed by a older, kind guardian like figure. It's so good. (The hero worship! The want for validation that the character tries to hide! It's perfect.)

13! They're all different lengths and about half of them are complete? And only more to come because I joined another big bang...

2. What's your total ao3 word count?

It's crazy because I only started really getting into writing in the past 3 years and I hit 151,653 words! I'm very proud to be here! I remember when writing 40k in a year seemed impossible for me.

3) What are your top five fics by kudos?

Haha this is more of me having one very popular fic and the rest are neck and neck, but here is the order! "Hello, Time Goes Quickly", "Fate Led Us to You (It Was Worth the Wait)", "I'll Take Care of Your Roots So Grow Tall, My Love", "Time to be Human", and "The Trials of Loving"!

4) What fandoms do you write for?

I've written all over the place, and some I won't come back to writing for even if I still read! I've written for D. Grayman, Marvel, Mob Psycho 100, Genshin, My Hero Academia, Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, and The S Classes that I Raised! I mostly write for the last two!

5) Do you respond to comments? why or why not?

I actually always respond to comments! Every time. I make it a point to respond to every comment I get on my fics. I just get so excited knowing someone cared enough to comment, and want the reader to know I see them!

6) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I don't really write angsty endings so I'll just go with angstiest in general! I'd say my S Class Percy Jackson au, "The Trials of Loving" is the one!

7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Ooooo I have a lot of happy endings! And they're pretty happy if I do say so myself. Maybe my Percy Jackson au for Sctir "The Trials of Loving" again lol. It ends on their wedding day!

8) Do you get hate on fics?

Nope! I have gotten spam though rip. At most it's commenters who are confused so I explain, but my commenters are lovely people!

9) Do you write smut?

... I have one smut fic and it's my most popular one. It's 30k and only like 5k is smut, and all of it was hard to write lol. But it must be done! For anyone curious it is in fact "Hello, Time Goes Quickly" lol.

10) Do you write crossovers?

My first fic was actually a crossover fic! It's inspired by liketolaugh 's crossover fic "Cosmic Composite" which is an Avenger's and D. Grayman crossover. Everyone should check out their fics! I'm confident of my characterization of characters! It's why I usually can't do other POVs for other characters. I need to feel confident in how I understand them to write for them.

Writing in detail. I like getting to the point, because too long sentences in my writing aren't interesting lol. So sometimes there are images in my head I don't describe enough for readers to picture what I'm imagining.

Okay so maybe this is going to be controversial but I don’t think Percy was Oblivious to Annabeth liking him. I think he knew, or at least picked up on some of the vibes.

I have a few reasons for this.

Percy isn’t shown to be oblivious to people hinting at having romantic interests in others. Lots of people have pointed out that Percy has no problems noticing when people have a crush on someone who isn’t him, so I’m not going to reiterate that. But he also isn’t shown to be oblivious to people having a crush on him. Of the four people who know had a crush on Percy at some point, two of them he knew about, and the other two he had reasons to view as not romantic options. Let’s go through them.

*Rachel- Percy knew she had a crush (or something resembling a crush) on him. After she asks him for a kiss in The Last Olympian, he even admits that he has occasionally thought about her romantically too. And yes, he is awkward in this moment but it doesn’t feel to me like he’s surprised to learn that Rachel might like him. His awkward reaction here reads more to me like he doesn’t know how to deny her request without hurting her, something he doesn’t want to do because he does care about her. He’s an awkward teenager learning how to navigate romantic feelings for the first time. Let him be awkward.

And before this moment, we aren’t shown any instances of Rachel crushing on Percy. In The Titan’s Curse, she saves him and in The Battle of the Labyrinth she’s just trying to establish a friendship with him. It is worth noting that Annabeth in her jealousy views this last bit as potentially romantic (you know, because she’s an awkward teenager figuring out romance too; let her be awkward.) But to me, Rachel’s actions in The Battle of the Labyrinth read more as “I want to be friends with this guy I met at the Hoover Dam once and who knows what’s going on.”

*Calypso- This one I get why Percy never saw her as a person who might have romantic feelings for him. To start with, she is a goddess and and he is a fourteen year old kid when they first meet. Even ignoring Percy’s insecurities and self esteem issues, there is a massive age, power, and social status gap between them. There is no reason for Percy to think she might be into him. You could argue that Percy is aware that gods and mortals have relationships because, hello, he exists, but I need to bring up that every god/mortal relationship that Percy would have been aware of up to this point resulted in a demigod. It means to me that it is likely that Percy would have viewed god/mortal relationships as mostly sexual with a potential romantic element. So why would he think a goddess like Calypso would have a crush on fourteen year old him?

*Nico- Again makes sense to me why Percy didn’t notice this. First, heteronormativity. Most people, even queer people, tend to assume straight until proven otherwise. I don’t see why Percy would be different.

Secondly, age gap. Percy throughout the main series views Nico more like a little brother or a small child who looks up to you. Most people wouldn’t even entertain the thought of a romantic relationship with someone they view as so much younger than them. This reads less oblivious to me than “why would I, a teenager, date/romantically lead on a ten/eleven/twelve year old.”

Annabeth- Percy does repeatedly notice Annabeth’s romantic advances throughout the PJO books. He hugs her when she gestures for it in The Battle of the Labyrinth. He references both his and her crush multiple times in The Bronze Dragon short story. He asks Beckendorf not to mention Rachel hitting on him to Annabeth because he knows how she feels about him. He asks her for a good luck kiss in reference to the Mount St. Helen’s kiss in The Last Olympian. He even tries to ask her out at least once, if not twice, during The Titan’s Curse (at the beginning when they’re dancing, and at the end, before Athena corners him and expresses her disapproval of their relationship.) Percy was aware that Annabeth liked him for years.

Does he have moments where he doesn’t pick up on every romantic cue or moment of jealousy? Yes. But, again, he is an awkward teenager navigating romantic relationships for the first time. Also, he’s in the middle of a war and has the fate of the world on his shoulders. He has more than enough reasons to miss a few things. Especially since Annabeth misreads his feelings too.

I already mentioned the thing with Rachel, but Percy admits that he was jealous of Annabeth and Luke’s relationship. Annabeth seems to view Percy’s jealousy as just hate for Luke as a person, which it partially is, but Percy is also jealous that Annabeth has a crush on Luke. (Side note: I don’t think Luke ever had a crush on Annabeth. I think he was just manipulating her feelings so she would see him in a better light.) If Percy is oblivious then so is Annabeth.

Annabeth’s jealousy does cloud her ability to notice that when people express romantic interest in Percy, he always chooses Annabeth over them. Percy has never seen anyone else whom he would choose romantically over Annabeth. But Annabeth, the awkward teenager with abandonment issues, doesn’t notice that. That’s not on Percy.

So, if Percy knew Annabeth liked him as much as he liked her, why didn’t he ask her out sooner? In my opinion, various reasons. They’re in a war with a prophecy hanging over their heads. They are both jealous of people they view as potential romantic rivals. And, what seems to be the biggest reason to me, Percy was afraid of what Athena might do. Remember, in The Titan’s Curse when Percy first expresses interest in asking Annabeth out, Athena steps in and states that she disapproves of any relationship he might have with her daughter. In that same conversation, Percy thinks that it would be terrifying to have Athena as an enemy. And when Percy does ask Annabeth out it is shortly after Athena admits that she might have been wrong about his relationship with her daughter, and that she is willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

In short, I think Percy did notice when people had feelings for him, and those he didn’t he had good reasons for not noticing. The reason he didn’t act on this knowledge has more to do with him being an awkward teenager who is still learning how to express his feelings and him being afraid of his crush’s mom.

i have thoughts about the pjo tv show but they might not be beloved... (long post, mostly just for myself but feel free to read my thoughts) (also lmk your thoughts! im curious if my experiences are universal) (also obv spoilers for ep8)

now i recognize i am watching this show through the lens of a much older person than i was when i read the books. percy is no longer older than me - he is now just a baby to me. and the actors are so young. so that might be the cause of some of my feelings. also i realize that a tv adaption is not going to be identical to the book. but what is tumblr if not a place to vent my frustrations, despite how irrational they may be?

i'll start with the good because there were some things i liked. i thought the actors mostly did a good job. the effects and sets and lighting and design was all very good, visually i think it was great. i like the gods i think theyre mostly well cast. I don't really have many problems with grover.

ok now lets talk about my frustrations. this isn't going to be super organized or logical. first of all, i had a problem with the characterization. most characters were actually not bad, but percy didn't really feel like percy to me. he seemed kinda darker? (whats he gonna be like when its dark!percy time??). like book percy obviously was not happy all the time, but he seemed light and he made jokes and he was a little goofier and i feel like in my mind he smiled more. tv percy kinda just seems sad all the time. and this might be a controversial take, but i feel like they gave some of percy's best traits to annabeth?? like annabeth was the one beefing with ares the most when he showed up. and a lot of the time she'd have a line that seemed so percy like!!! don't get me wrong - i love annabeth and the actress did a really great job! but i feel like she was kinda percy and annabeth at the same time in a way. i missed percy. also hades was different. they made hades fun which is cute but in the first book at least hes supposed to be kinda scary!!! i wasn't scared of hades at all. hades seems like he'd be a fun drinking buddy in this. those aren't the vibes hades should have, at least not at the first meeting.

ok next!!! where is the fun. pjo was such a fun series and i feel like the show has taken on more of a darker outlook! again i realize its a tv show and it was only an 8 ep run so they probably had time constraints, but i miss the fun little scenes that make the books such a fun read! like the "say hello to the poodle" scene ? or the scene where they're telling charon they died in a bathtub? and don't even get me started on the Crusty's bed scene. they just breezed right through that!!!

and thats another thing!!!! in the book they kept figuring things out while they were in the thick of it. which was fine!!! especially for percy - hes brand new to all of this, he has some knowledge but he makes mistakes because he's a kid and he is in a brand new world! and we get to see him and annabeth and grover get out of these tricky situations and figure things out!!! but in the show they know everything basically instantly. like the lotus casino or crustys scheme. i like seeing them make mistakes and fix it!! i don't think i was ever stressed watching this show (good stressed, like suspense stress) which i guess is in part because ive read the books but also because they were never in too terrible a position. and the kronos thing!!! percy knew right away. he was like oh word big pit? must be kronos. he did everything. like that is way too quick for early percy.

and then this is just me being nitpicky but i don't like how they changed things. like the luke betrayal reveal? where was the scorpion. that was so iconic and they just completely scrapped it! i thought it made luke's character kinda scary! like this guy fully just summoned a scorpion to kill percy. instead in the show hes like swinging at percy and percy manages to hurt him. i'm not scared of this luke. young percy, away from the sea, manages to hurt him? little annabeth scares him off? he runs away? ok big man try showing up again we won't be scared. idk it frustrates me.

one more thing before i wrap up the longest (and only) post i've made in ages. Sally Jackson using Medusa's head to turn gabe to stone was SO iconic. and what a great way for her to show us and the world and the gods how powerful she is. like she went from being sally jackson, mother and protector of percy (who was already pretty sick) to Sally Jackson, Capable of Basically Murder in a Super Cool Way!!!!!! i loved that. but in the show they just have gabe snooping and accidentally getting turned to stone? if i had never read the books and was watching this show with no knowledge of the books, i'd think it was just kinda a lazy way to wrap up a loose end. kinda felt like they took sally's power away (i know she divorced him but it doesn't really have the same gravitas).

ok i do have other thoughts but this is so long already and its bedtime. is it weird that i'm worried the younger cast might come across this? they probably won't care what i have to say but incase they do come across my super long post and read it (i would if i was 15 and starred in a show with a built in fanbase), i hope they take it with the biggest grain of salt. bc at the end of the day people like the show, its profitable (i assume), and i'm just a cranky old lady who doesn't like change. most of the changes i understand why they did it and i respect it. i'm just venting here. and you know what? if they release a second season (and third and fourth and fifth) i will be watching.

i guess i just wish they maybe had more episodes, or longer episodes, so they didn't have to rush it as much as (i felt) they did. overall it made people happy so who cares. have a good night tumblr.

gosh hi ! honestly life these days is pure stress. we've basically just finished with immigration nonsense between my husband and i, so for the first time in five years we aren't in the middle of some kind of paperwork or another to beg our governments to let us live together, so the summer was a little lighter until family members got health issues and my focus shifted!

i haven't opened a google doc since january at the most recent, but i did get a lot of reading done this summer in the brief stress downtime - i read some BOOKS for the first time since literally college. standouts were in the dream house by carmen maria machado and normal people by sally rooney, both of which i'd give solid 9/10s for myself. excited about mark oshiro writing another percy jackson book! we've known each other since 2009 or so and i am once of their staunchest supporters. plus, it helps that pjo is one of the main special interests forever haha

Aurelia is a 15 year old demigod daughter of Eos. She is from small town Mississippi and she came to camp closer to when she was 14, so pretty recently. She is currently dating Kiara Belvedere, as said above. She arrived at camp after an emposai attacked her. (Probably a satyr who brought her, but idk.)

She arrived at camp post the events of the Heroes of Olympus books and thus didn't fight in those same battles that Kiara did. (Once again, if there was one in toa I didn't read it yet.)

She dealt with/deals with a lot of internalized homophobia and stuff like that since she grew up in small town Mississippi.

But she never really extended it towards others. It always confused her why people would be upset about who someone loves or what their gender identity was or anything like that

But as soon as it was her who happened to be a kiss-girl (im so sorry i cannot take myself seriously), she hated herself for it. It was fine when anyone else was like that, but not her.

She ends up being able to accept herself more slowly after she and Kiara don't start dating quite yet, but are kinda talking? Do you call it that if you've been best friends for a while and already acting pretty gay around her? Idk. Seriously, Marilene (head counselor for the Selene cabin) was waiting for the longest time for them to just kiss.

This really reminds me of Once More to See You by Mitski because Kiara really just wanted to tell everyone and everything about how much she loved Aurelia, but Aurelia was still closeted at this point. (Sorry if im making it sound like it was a bad thing that she was closeted. it's not and, good on her for taking her time and doing it when she was comfortable)

Hello! Tell me if you don’t want me sending more asks, but I once again reread the son of Poseidon au, and I have to know if the drowned freshwater fish thing actually happened. And tangentially, I’m curious if, considering all that Poseidon isn’t that… great of a parent, if there were still moments during the time skip where Odysseus was ever actually happy in some way, or Poseidon was genuinely kind.

You kidding me? I love asks! I might not answer right away or Tumblr might eat them because it hates me sometimes, but I do love them!

I wish the fish thing had happened! Would be hilarious but very sad. Sadly though, no, it isn’t something that I actually know of happening.

As far as Poseidon goes— lemme preface, actually.I know a lot of PJO (I think it’s PJO anyways) fans like him cause he’s a good dad in there, but my only exposure to Poseidon is from EPIC The Musical, where he’s. Ya know. As he is.

And his whole point is taking Odysseus is revenge. I haven’t talked about it much outside of the prologue (hoping to expound on it more later) but he really only kept him alive because he figured trading places would bring more pain than just. Dying. So while Odysseus had a few happy moments, they weren’t ever ones where Poseidon was around.

hello what are your thoughts on a rayllum situation a la percy and annabeth in which either or both give up a great power/opportunity to be with each other?

while I’m not really sure we’d ever see this in canon I love the idea of it

So Rayllum has had PJO / Percabeth energy to me for a long time

And I am deeply intrigued by what lengths Rayla and Callum will be willing to go to save each other, as keeping one another safe has always been one of their biggest priorities and brought out their most batshit sides. We already know what Test of Love Rayla is going to have (leaning towards next season but could also see S6) in terms of her being willing to risk the world when Callum is possessed again ("You let him live but you killed us all / You have two choices: you all die, or just the evil wretched human dies") in favour of fighting to break him free and save him. It's already been textually confirmed, symbolically, as well that she will successfully save him.

“Wow. So they look identical, but they might kill you or they might save you,” Callum said.

“Exactly. Just like me…” Rayla smiled. (Book One novelization)

This will of course play a big hand in restoring their relationship, as well as herself, to what they/she used to be. A complete inverse of her "We can't save everyone, there's too much at stake" dismissal in 4x05 that shows how jaded her time alone had made her, traumatizing her to a point nothing else she'd ever been through (almost losing her hand, losing her family, her village, etc) had pushed her to. But of course to Callum, "Rayla is a hero" and that's what makes her who she is, and it's the positive side of her self sacrificial / selfless nature (as the self sacrifice is still alive and kicking in S4 with going after Viren, being the first to give Rex a gift, etc etc as well as the self loathing). Her saving him is the perfect "wrap it up in a bow" of setup and pay off for all of it, and her arc in general from a S1-S5 type deal.

I think there's a lot of layers to Percy's choice to give up immortality in the books (not only for Annabeth, although yes, definitely for her) but also taking into account for what he asks for in its stead: for the gods to be accountable, to pay their dues, in the ways heroes and mortals too often have instead. It shows his maturity, his series long disgust at injustice and unfairness, his beloved impertinence to say what he thinks regardless of the consequences. To honour Luke and all the other fallen demigods, but also himself.

On that level TDP doesn't have quite the same set up (although we'll see about holding humans and Xadia more accountable for the deep history / the Startouch elves as gods) but if Rayla is going to risk the world to save him, then he also has to accordingly risk the world to save her. This is particularly true as Rayla's heroic nature ad deep love for Callum is emphasized in all prior seasons, as well as the latter majorly in S4. We'll have an easy time believing she'd made that kind of decision for him. With S4, it throws a little bit of a wrench into Callum's side of things, but that's all the more reason for him to do it; to reaffirm his massive, life altering, world changing love for her (she, who desperately needs to know she is loved, too, after all this time). After all on his side of things, her absence has to affect him more than shutting down and more than just being obsessed with magic; a "I lost her once, I won't lose her again" justification if he does something batshit for her would give retroactive narrative reasoning on his end, and it'd be very earned, I think (since we see how messed up he is over her absence in 4x01, even after all that time). And again, Rayla cannot only save him - she also has to mess up, to need to be bailed out - in order for her to actually learn her lesson about self worth and sacrifice and why she needs to fucking stay or at the very least, fully accept that Callum will always be coming with her.

After all, they both need the opportunity to choose each other, to save one another, and as always, I think Callum giving up the Key of Aaravos to the villains (whether the Key is just for the prison, or Aaravos' heart, or whatever) if Rayla had gotten captured and her life was on the line makes a lot of sense. Big tag about it here, & masterposts (pre s4 and post s4). So I'd say that's my big percabeth "giving something up majorly for the one you love" schtick.

Either way I can't wait for S5 to make me cry
