How are you? How did you get into shipping EngSpa? ^_^ Do you have any other ships? -🪽

oh hello wingèd anon! i'm well thank you, i hope you are too!

this is a very lovely question and also one that's rather simple to answer:

i got into shipping engspa (which i dare distinguish from spuk in this instance) thanks to the one and only @maivalkov, who i'm very lucky to now get to create and daydream over new aus and engspa fics with regularly. i hope she doesn't mind me saying that it feels like we're two peas in a pod, and that i do feel very lucky!

while i'd read the odd bit of spuk/engspa about the place a few years back, it was really only when i came across maiva's 'Gatito' that, basically, my life changed. since then, it's become a bit of an addiction, fuelled only more by my degree (which included but was not limited to contemporary hispanic studies).

if you've found my corner because of engspa, and it's something that appeals, i definitely recommend going through maiva's many works for more if you haven't already! and on the way, you might just pick up another ship to add to your collection ;)

with regards to your second question. uh. yes. i am by all accounts someone with multiple ships (i am the admiral of the spanish fleet for a reason, ahem, though i do also ship many pairings that don't include spain, surprise surprise). to give you an idea, you can check out some of my ficlets on ao3. engspa might be my main pairing, but i'm certainly partial to others, some of which have starred in some heftier works. but i'll leave those for you to discover!

I find it lowkey hilarious how Flora quite fits the cottagecore lesbian aesthetic and the colors of the lesbian flag visually, and Helia has a feminine name, so there's this theory that he was supposed to be a female character at first but was changed so Flora wasn't left out and also had a boyfriend, like other Winx. As far as I know, it isn't anything official and just a theory based on his name and a little more feminine features than other specialists (long hair, face), but these two things put together still are funny to me.

How the couples from Winx would enjoy their halloween party:

Bloom & Sky as princess and prince would enjoy their night with their friends and distribute some candy

Stella & Brandon as mermaid and pirate would crack jokes and be the light of the party (Stella would make Brandon carry her)

Flora & Helia as Mickey and Minnie, they would be the mom and the dad of the party 🤣

Tecna & Timmy as a zombie and a heroine on an apocalypse! They would choose the movie the group would eventually watch at the end of the party

Aisha & Nabu as a cute witch and a handsome wizard, they would dance most of the part

Musa & Riven as red riding hood and wolf! they would play instruments and sing during the party

at the end of the party they would decide to watch a horror movie how each couple would react:

Skloom: Would try to pay attention but would get distracted waiting for the scary parts and cover their faces and snuggling at each other

Brella: Stella would still be glued to Brandon, both would fall for the jumpscares but would laugh right after

Florelia: Would pay attention to the plot and discuss about it after with everyone

Tecmy: Would totally pay more attention to the special effects than anything else and would discuss about it between themselves and eventually laugh about their own cute nerdiness

Rivusa: Would wait for the other get scared and laugh at their reaction affectionately

Aisha and Nabu: Would be the ones who enjoyed the movie the most and Nabu would comfort Aisha each time he notices she got scared

FloraxHelia (Flolia, Helora; I prefer to call them Flelia) (Winx Club)

This was my first ever ship that I remember shipping. They were some of favourite Winx characters, one of the reasons why season 2 was my favourite season and they are very cute. The only reason I am currently not as invested in this ship is because I feel that I've outgrown the Winx franchise.

Has anyone ever considered Musa & Helia being a thing? I mean just THINK about it! They're both the artsy ones in their group: Helia with drawing and poetry and Musa with her music. They would complement each other so well characterwise too. Musa could turn Helia's poems into songs and they could write songs together. Musa's music could inspire Helia to draw and vice versa Musa could imagine stories from the pictures Helia drew and combine the feelings and emotions in songs too. There is so much going on with them. Helia is the introvert and Musa is definitely the extrovert who would make Helia get out of his shy comfort zone and Helia would calm Musa's temper. I have so many headcanons for them!

gives nose/forehead kisses: fran

toni goes all cute and red when fran kisses him, and it drives him wild. fran is going to capitalise on that, absolutely.

gets jealous the most: both

do not underestimate fran. ever. in any context. this included!

takes care of on sick days: fran

i like to think fran does a better job overall of looking after himself and rarely gets ill compared to toni. that makes him more frequently the care-giver (and toni might just milk being ill to extend the lovely treatment) but of course, if fran does get ill, toni will drop everything to bring fran as much soup and tea and straight-to-tv romcoms his heart desires.

drags the other person out into the water on beach day: toni

toni is not quite a fish but certainly feels a pull to the sea when at the beach. fran, on the other hand? less so. the salt in his hair will make him weep. but, sometimes, he finds the little inconveniences are worth the memories.

brings the other lunch at work: both

they'd either take it turns to prepare lunch or both accidentally make lunch and then find they've got dinner sorted too. not that that is usually a problem!

tries to start role-playing in bed: neither

it doesn't suit their dynamic. they've no desire to be anyone other than themselves in their relationship.

embarrassingly drunk dancer: fran

toni has so many photos of fran after having a few too many...

firmly believes in couple costumes: both

they love to match! but while i'm here, i totally see fran buying them matching pyjamas as well :')

breaks the expensive gift rule during christmas: toni

fran is aghast. how dare he! but maybe that present turns out to be... something quite special, hehe. he can't stay mad for long!

both deserve breakfast in bed treatments, as far as i'm concerned. they may adapt depending on each other's schedules, plans, moods, etc. but neither will let the other leave the house without them eating something!

remembers anniversaries: both

they have a designated calendar in the kitchen filled with important dates and some of the most precious and silly and personal photographs they've seen. (it was probably a gift from arthur, at least the first time. little does he know he's started a tradition!).

brings up having kids first: toni

i have no explanation. it just feels like it would be him...

kills the bugs: toni

toni's got this handled. but he won't kill them, he'll just politely remove them from the area and apologise to them, much to fran's bewilderment.

first to define them as a couple: fran

he's too excited to not go ahead and tell everyone before toni's even realised he's in a serious relationship. but if it saves him the trouble, he doesn't mind!

who hides their guilty pleasures longer: fran

fran would prefer to make sure his relationship is 110% secure and serious before things move too fast or he shows all his cards. but toni is not in a hurry either.

snorts when laughing: neither

it has occurred to me that this kind of snort may not be the sort of snort i have been imagining, and so, no. they are not snorters.

Some of my Favorite Winx Club ships (cannon and non cannon)

Cannon: 1: Musa/Riven (Rivusa)

#1 Rivusa defender even whilst being 6 feet under in my grave. These two have ALWAYS been my fav couple (even when I was lil kid.) I just love them so much. Sure, they had their bad times but they've also had plenty of good ones too. I'm going to stop myself there because if I type any further about these two I'm going to end up making this post much more longer than it needs to be😭

2: Flora/Helia (Floreila)

If I don't have a relationship like Flora and Helia's then I don't want it. Seriously, these two are so adorable. Helia literally worships the ground Flora walks on. Their relationship is so healthy and just overall green flags everywhere. And back in s2 when they were crushing on each other was the cutest omg, they're both so pure and full of love.

3: Stella/Brandon (Brella)

The trust that these two have for each other in this relationship is so beautiful. Brandon and Stella compliment each other PERFECTLY. They both would sacrifice themselves at any costs for each other. They have such a beautiful and selfless bond, always willing to protect one another.

Non cannon: 1: Musa/Layla/Aisha (Soundwave)

Layla had a big fat crush on Musa during seasons 2-3, and NO ONE will EVER change my mind. I already hc Layla as a lesbian too (don't get me wrong her and Nabu were awesome but I think that they'd be better off as friends/a platonic pairing. )They'd both be such a healthy couple and they had soo much chemistry. They'd both be extremely supportive of each others goals and dreams. They were literally each other's comfort person throughout s2-3. They care about each other so much. Plus, we need more POC wlw representation in media.

2: Lucy/Mirta (Unsure of their ship name)

They're gfs your honor, that's all I have to say.

3: Faragonda/Griffin (Unsure of their ship name)

WIVES.

4: Palladium/Avalon (Unsure of their ship name 😭)

They had more chemistry than Bloom and Sky ever did ����(Sorry, not sorry Bloom/Sky shippers) Also, idgaf what the comics say yall.
