Rocky Marciano

In his youth, Rocky worked out on homemade weightlifting equipment and used a stuffed mailbag that hung from a tree in his back yard as a heavy bag. ~ Rocky is the only person to hold the heavyweight title and undefeated throughout his career with boxing record of 49 total fights, 49 wins, 43 KO, and 0 losses.

Rocco Francis Marchegiano died in a plane crash on August 31, 1969 at the age of 45.

🥊 Oleksandr Usyk is the absolute world boxing champion in the heavyweight division!

Oleksandr Usyk is the third boxer in the modern history of men's boxing (four championship belts) to become an absolute world champion in different weight categories.

UNITED 24 ambassadors supported Oleksandr Usyk yesterday. In the photo with the boxer are footballer Andriy Shevchenko and actor Liev Schreiber.

He came to the final "battle of looks" in an outfit with Crimean Tatar ornaments, and then in an embroidered shirt with a portrait of Oleksandr Matsievsky, who was executed by the Russians.

At the height of the Jim Crow era, Jack Johnson became the first black world heavyweight boxing champion. He was pulled over for speeding by a police officer who issued him a $50 ticket.

Johnson gave him a $100 bill and told him to keep the change because he'd be coming through in the opposite direction at the same speed.

The NEWBIE (he isn't much of a Newbie anymore) and I are currently using RINGSIDE 10 oz Boxing Gloves (we started out with 18 oz, then dropped to 14 oz, then to 12 oz) and up to Bout #12. He is still learning but he has managed to OUT SCORE me on occasions during any number of Rounds. Granted, THE FEW that know my "TRUE STORY" are likely STILL SHOCKED that we are STILL Boxing in this Unusual Way! To each his own! As long as a Dude is willing to Trade Punches for Fun/a Good Workout, it SHOULDN'T make ANY DIFFERENCE from what physical position we are throwing our punches from.

I will try and get back to posting more photos from Yesteryear - 2000 forward.

Jersey Joe Walcott, was an American professional boxer who competed from 1930 to 1953. He held the NYSAC, NBA, and The Ring heavyweight titles from 1951 to 1952, and broke the record for the oldest man to win the title, at the age of 37. That record would eventually be broken in 1994 by 45-year-old George Foreman. Despite holding the world heavyweight title for a relatively short period of time, Walcott was regarded among the best heavyweights in the world during the 1940s and 1950s. Joe was born Arnold Raymond Cream and died on February 25, 1994 at the age of 80.

In honor of tonight’s fight, (Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul) I want to highlight heavyweight champion Michael Gerard Tyson and give him his flowers 💐.

Mike Tyson made his professional debut as an 18-year-old. 🥊

Mike also known as “Iron Mike” is a former American Professional Boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005.

Tyson won his first 19 fights by knockouts.

He was undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987-1990.

He became the youngest heavyweight champion at age 20 in 1986.

He has a 50-6 professional record, with 44 knockouts and two no-contests.

He was the first professional boxer to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles simultaneously.

After almost 20 years later, he is scheduled to fight Jake Paul.

I can’t help but to feel like this was purposely planned to make a living legend’s legacy get overshadowed by a younger, fit boxer who is currently in his prime.

Mike Tyson is 58 years of age and is now fighting Jake Paul just feels wrong and racist. This could just be me but just from clips of Jake Paul saying “he’s coming to take the crown 👑”. I also saw clips of his mom saying she would “kill Mike Tyson”. Even though she was “joking” and lol’d it off, it’s basically no respect for a living LEGEND. 😒

Nonetheless, we can see right through their tactics.

So Mike Tyson, here are your flowers!
