Eris is the Greek goddess of strife and discord. Her Roman equivalent is Discordia, which means the same. Eris's Greek opposite is Harmonia, whose Roman counterpart is Concordia, though she is also described as opposing Nike, counterpart of the Roman Victoria. Homer equated her with the war-goddess Enyo, whose Roman counterpart is Bellona. The dwarf planet Eris is named after the goddess. It is unknown whether she had any temples or sects in Greece. She is often invoked as a personification of strife, as which she appears in Homer and many later works.

In the Latter Day Saint movement, Heavenly Mother, also known as Mother in Heaven, is the mother of human spirits and the wife of God the Father. Collectively Heavenly Mother and Father are called Heavenly Parents. Those who accept the Mother in Heaven doctrine trace its origins to Joseph Smith, founder of the Latter Day Saint movement. The doctrine became more widely known after Smith's death in 1844.

Most people don't know this, but Mormons aren't strict monotheists! Not only are Jesus Christ and God the Father entirely separate figures in Mormonism, but God the Father has a wife. Little is known about her, and the question of whether she should be worshiped alongside God the Father is hotly debated.

The youth speaker in church today specifically talked about our Heavenly Parents. Not just Heavenly Father, but both our Parents, and he referred to both of them throughout his talk.

Can we get more of that please? And in general I would just love to talk more specifically about Heavenly Mother at church, and not feel like I can only pray to her when I'm praying alone at home.

one thing that really bothers me about non-lds or ex-lds criticism of the church is the accusations of misogyny. Like. Have you listened to what our prophets have to say on the role of a woman in the plan of God? The plan of salvation outlines the role of women. Read “The Family: A Proclamation to the World.” Listen to “A Plea to My Sisters” by President Russel M. Nelson, our current prophet. Listen to “The Women In Our Lives” by President Gordon B. Hinckley, a prophet who has since passed through the veil. Go to the church’s app or website or open your New Testament and read how the Lord treats women in the scriptures.

women not having the priesthood is not based on sexism. God did not give women the priesthood because women have the ability to create life. Women have a specific influence in the world. The Lord NEEDS women.

as a girl, I know that I am a daughter of heavenly parents, with a divine nature and eternal destiny. I have a Mother in Heaven just like I have a Father in Heaven.

do not criticize the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints based on the criticism of those who didn’t bother to look for truth in the first place.

To clarify, do you believe Heavenly Mother to be god along with Heavenly Father? As in do you think they have the same “powers”, mindset, control on the world, etc.
