The first man took a deep breath, steadying his nerves but doing little to dampen his excitement. This was his chance to wipe it all away, start a new chapter as the hero and father he had always wanted to be. Protecting his children from danger, even from himself if needed. With him and her erased, he could finally fix everything. He didn't need to do this but.... the nerd in him was itching for it.

He grabbed a silver cross necklace out of his pocket and kissed it throwing it up in the air, as a song only he could hear played in his head. "With this sword, I smite those who disobey. The lord's word is absolute. A crusader knight. Please guide my way with your holy light"!! Orange flaming wings appeared on his back, a glittering black Axe guitar in hand, he strummed but once, striking a pose, and throwing devil horns. God, he felt so cool right now. He headed out, eyes on the Skys, Ready to smite anyone who disobeyed the orders.

Even if he felt it was only the least he could do, it was still something he did. In these uncertain times, that went a long way. You couldn't make any real assumptions. Everything had changed. Though at the very least, this dispelled any notion that he only helped for the sake of Heaven's army. He definitely cared.

"I'm... fine. I'm not hurt or anything. But I'm glad you're okay." Physically of course that was true, though she may have gotten a bruise or two from being pulled through the portal so quickly. However, her mind and her heart ached deeply and likely would for a long time yet. Maybe not ever truly recover. But she won't let that stop her in her tracks. She can't. She saw what happened when her mother disappeared and how everything ground to a halt as a result. She can't let that happen.

"It... took everyone by surprise. I think a lot of things would have been different." So many things had gone wrong that were a surprise. The Exorcists going against Michael (though perhaps that one wasn't as much of a surprise as other things). Satan's involvement. Adam having that sword.

"He... He told me stories about you, you know? Of you two when I was younger. He really missed you." Her voice was small and fragile, barely keeping it together.

✞ " Oh... " His relief is audible, evidently still wound a little tighter than he realized. The door clicks behind them as they step in, and he turns to them, raising a flat palm. " Do not thank me, Charlie. " He... assumes their lack of direct declining means the name is at least acceptable amongst the list. " It is the least I could do. Not just to protect our warriors, but after I heard of Satan's plot, and-- what became of your father... " Those onyx hands come together to wring, like a battle through his whole demeanor, trying to at once remain upright and poised but show the condolences that ties up his tongue.

" How am I... feeling? Oh, this-- this is nothing. Show no concern for me, I shall be repaired in due time. It is only you that I hope is unharmed. " He rotates his arm, eyeing what of the scarring peaks beneath the robe. But, in just a beat of pause he breaks his controlled tone with a twinge of urgency as he interjects something that almost feels like a break in script.

" Since you are here-- I- I just want you to know that if I was aware, I would have-- done more. You must know that I and your father have not always fought for the same cause, but I... I would have given my sword to protect him. " And he looks away, words left in the air, heavy like an apology.

Squints at his Husband and his actual favorite sibling /soul twin getting along, he wanted this yes but at what cost .

"I regret things have gone the way they have as well. I did not anticipate the will the Praetor and The Council would fall out of communion so quickly. For my part I am sorry you feel left in the dark, brother. It is my hope you understand things by our conversations end."

The eye at the center of the councilors rings which made up his head began to glow like the sun. The rings untitened and widened as they and the glowing sun grew all the larger, the eyes lining each ring taking on a shine of their own.

The mini sun would reveal a mirror of sorts to which visions might be seen, the exorcists preparing for war, Michael's legions preparing to support the Hazbin Hotel, and Satan sitting in the desolate darkness, waiting.

" The exterminations are vital toward Heaven. They always have been. They keep the wicked souls at Heaven' benevolent mercy yes, but they also keep our most violent Angel's busy. Heaven has been silent of God's word for so long. We must continue to keep the peace by keeping war, Adam and his army would not take to a life of peace, the sinners grow more powerful each year, and above all else?

Lucifer is not long for thos world. His raw emotions, his growing impudence, soon he will die, and when he does the great beast will have lost his leash, the child of the morning star will not be able to control him. It is imperative we keep Heaven weak, learn what we can from them. That way when the true war comes to our doorstep we will be prepared.

Michael lines our adversaries with troops. He consistently chooses his found family over the Angel's and mortals under his charge. He will see us all burn when Satan brings his might down on us. And we would deserve it, for letting our Prince lead us astray.

Tell me, Michael cast down Lucifer for his fault. Who holds Michael accountable for anything?"

That’s pretty heavily verse dependent and really only because of Azrael.

See, there’s @timelostobserver who’s Azzy is Fallen yet Michael still loves and wants to reconnect with. Then there’s @themosthatedbeingg who’s Azzy is a rat bastard scumfuck (affectionate, love you Kas) who Michael has physically maimed on more than one occasion.

Much like his children I don’t think he really has a list. He’s very close to Raphael @archhealer and Gabriel @heaven-saidx but I wouldn’t say they’re his favorite just because Michael doesn’t really categorize things like that.

That said, Lucifer tends to bottom out the list if there is one.

The other archangel is quiet a moment. He appears to be considering the question very seriously, gaze running up and down the brother he used to have so much in common with. Pride, temper, faith... a desperation to be Good. Not just Good Enough, but Good, so entwined with the platonic ideal that maybe they could finally shed every last scale of the burden of identity and just be Good.

Or maybe Metatron is projecting. Who's to say anymore? More than anything, he wants to truly know Gabriel again. Who he is now.

"Gabriel," Metatron says softly, laying a cool but comforting hand on his brother's shoulder. "I don't think any of us could go on the way we started. Not forever. Not and... persevere. I think about how revolted you would have once been at the idea of being what you are now, especially having found an Infernal lifemate, and it's... fuckin' terrible, you know?" He laughs just a little, shaking his horned head. "I hate thinking about you missing out on being happier. I'm glad you've changed." And then, tentatively, awkwardly, he moves forward to bring his brother into a hug. He hopes it's an acceptable hug; they've always been tricky for him. It goes on for a little while. Still holding his brother, he says reflectively, "I do gotta admit, you cuttin' down on wanton acts of violence does make me look even fuckin' worse." There's a smile in his voice. "Maybe I oughta try being a bad influence."

✞  " And what is a messenger without a message? " He answers with a soft nod and a riddle of his own, both with the same answer, he felt, though he didn't know what it was. Though he's beginning to find an answer he's happy with. " I understand. " He's felt the same way.

But as the attention is thrown back onto him, he grows almost bashful, " That alone is such a long story... " That is, until they mention his dress. He stands tall and proud. " My dress was a vision of Heaven! And my train was designed to RIP away for the fight after! ... Apparently that is tradition for the Violence ring. " He stops to explain. " The two sides of the aisle nearly started Armageddon in a single room, but other than that... " He laughs with a shrug of his hand. Even that part he adored. But with a pause, growing faintly somber, the archangel asks a question.

" Metatron... I know it is... strange to ask, but-- do you... think any less of me? " He'd stand by his actions regardless. But, he can't help but flinch at how unlike himself he must seem to someone just now checking in.

{⚔️} Hurried footsteps run down the halls in the palace, the sheer shock and surprise causing poor Gabriel to forget how quick he was. Making it to Yahbel’s office, the man opens the doors with breathlessness at his lips.

“Lady Yahbel, there is… a second!” He huffs and puffs. “Michael! A second…. Two of them!”
