Understanding Heat Reflective Coating and its Benefits
Tumblr media
Heat reflective coating, also known as cool roof coating or infrared reflective coating, is a type of coating that is applied to the roof or exterior walls of buildings to reduce the amount of heat absorbed by the building. This type of coating is becoming increasingly popular as a means of reducing energy costs and improving the comfort of buildings.
Heat reflective coating work by reflecting sunlight and other forms of radiant energy away from the surface of the building, rather than allowing it to be absorbed. This can significantly reduce the amount of heat that is transferred into the building, especially during the hot summer months.
There are a variety of heat reflective coating in Nashik, each with its own unique properties and benefits. Some coatings are designed to reflect a wider range of wavelengths, while others are optimised for specific types of roofing materials. Some coatings are also formulated to be more durable, weather-resistant, or easy to apply.
Benefits of Heat Reflective Coating:
Energy Efficiency: Heat reflective coating can significantly reduce the amount of energy needed to cool a building, especially in hot climates. By reducing the amount of heat absorbed by the building, the need for air conditioning is reduced, resulting in lower energy bills and a smaller carbon footprint.
Improved Comfort: By reducing the amount of heat that is transferred into a building, heat reflective coatings can also improve the comfort of occupants. This can be especially important in buildings with large windows or other sources of heat gain.
Longer Roof Life: Heat reflective coating can also extend the life of a roof by reducing the amount of thermal stress that is placed on the roofing materials. This can result in fewer repairs and lower maintenance costs over the life of the building.
Reduced Urban Heat Island Effect: In urban areas, the use of heat reflective coating can help to reduce the urban heat island effect. This occurs when urban areas become significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas due to the high concentration of buildings and other structures. By reducing the amount of heat absorbed by buildings, heat reflective coatings can help to mitigate this effect and make cities more livable.
Improved Indoor Air Quality: Heat reflective coatings can also improve indoor air quality by reducing the need for air conditioning, which can circulate pollutants and other harmful substances throughout a building. By reducing the amount of energy needed to cool a building, heat reflective coatings can help to create a healthier indoor environment.
Types of Heat Reflective Coatings:
Acrylic Coatings: Acrylic coatings are a popular choice for heat reflective coatings due to their durability, weather-resistance, and ease of application. They can be applied to a wide range of roofing materials, including metal, asphalt, and concrete, and are available in a variety of colors.
Silicone Coatings: Silicone coatings are another popular option for heat reflective coatings. They are highly weather-resistant and can withstand extreme temperatures and UV radiation. They are also highly effective at reflecting infrared radiation, making them a good choice for hot climates.
Polyurethane Coatings: Polyurethane coatings are a more recent development in the field of heat reflective coatings. They are highly durable and can be applied to a wide range of surfaces, including metal, concrete, and wood. They are also highly effective at reducing heat transfer, making them a good choice for buildings with large windows or other sources of heat gain.
Application of Heat Reflective Coatings:
Heat reflective coatings can be applied to both new and existing buildings. In many cases, they can be applied directly over existing roofing materials, which can help to reduce the cost and time associated with installation.
Before applying a heat reflective coating, it is important to thoroughly clean and prepare the surface of the roof or exterior walls. This may involve removing any dirt, debris, or other contaminants, as well as repairing
We at Protexion provide a variety of heat reflective coating in Nashik and nearby areas at best possible prices. For More details please visit our site : http://www.protexion.in/heat-insulation-coating.php Source : https://writeupcafe.com/understanding-heat-reflective-coating-and-its-benefits/

One of the weird upsides of my work is that they put such a huge emphasis on wearing gloves to do work that this has crossed over into real life and tbh. Chores are more tolerable with gloves.

I find it so funny when I'm explaining sciencey stuff to people that I think is common knowledge and use the scientific terms that I just personally use on a regular basis and watch them be confused
I never expect them to be confused but the confusion still makes me laugh, the unexpectedness of it actually adds to the comedy honestly

Hmm, nice.
Some years ago my boyfriend got me this set of wool insulation gear, that are meant to be worn under regular clothing for an extra layer of warmth. They're made of net fabric in order to be both warm while out in the cold and comfortably breathable while indoors. It's the first properly cool autumn day (that I am out and about, anyhow) and it's apparently like 12-14C out here, so I put on a hoodie and put the top half of the insulation layer under my t-shirt.
However, it turns out that I still produce enough heat while speedwalking that the hoodie was downright unnecessary, and I had to toss it to my backpack in order to not get sweaty. So while there's people all around already wearing their coats and winter hoodies, I'm out here dressed in a t-shirt with fishnet sleeves underneath. Pulled my bracelets over the shirt sleeves for maximum peak climate-appropriate goth bullshit look.

Best Heat insulation and Roof insulation Services
Heat Insulation
The barrier to the flow of heat between two objects     is called thermal insulation. Specially designed processes, special     shapes, and selection of suitable materials are very important for the     insulation of heat.
When two objects of different temperatures come in     direct contact, there must be a transfer of heat between them. But by     inserting an insulating material between these two objects, the flow of     heat will be less than before.
How much less depends on the thickness of the     insulating material, its low thermal conductivity, etc. Similarly, some     other methods are adopted to reduce the flow of heat by radiation.
The lower the thermal conductivity of a material, the     better it is as an insulator. Other properties of insulating materials in     the field of thermal engineering are density and specificity.
What are heat-resistant materials?
It is very important to choose specially designed processes, special sizes, and suitable materials for heat insulation. Tantalum carbide (TaC) and hafnium carbide (HfC) are refractory ceramics, meaning they are exceptionally resistant to heat.
Which is the least heat-resistant metal?
The correct answer is glass. Heat conduction is the reduction in the transfer of heat between objects in thermal contact. In modern times, glass is the most common insulation.
What is the difference between a heat conductor and a heat insulator?
Of heat from a substance goes from one end to the other, it is called a heat conductor. Aluminum, iron, silver, copper, etc. are heat conductors. When there is no transfer of heat from a substance, it is called an insulator. Such as plastic, wood, etc.
Main insulation Material
Fiberglass
Mineral wool
Cellulose
Polyurethane foam
Polyurethane eps
Roof insulation
You can always tell who hasn't insulated their attic because of the pigeons and other birds sitting on the roof and enjoying all the heat coming from the house below. Summer is on the rise and clever birds are quick to take advantage of it.
Other benefits of roof insulation include
Lower heating bills
Improve the energy efficiency of your home
Increase the value of your home
Attic insulation for an average 3-bedroom     semi-detached house with gas central heating can start with DIY insulation     for around €50 and can take less than a year, reducing energy costs. Know     about top insulation and Roof insulation.
What is Roof insulation?
Roof insulation is a barrier of material in your roof space. It can be placed between joists (horizontal joists along the floor of your attic) or rafters (slant joists that support the roof).
Why is roof insulation necessary?
In non-insulated homes, a quarter of the heat lost is dissipated through the roof. Insulating an attic or roof is a great way to increase the comfort of your home. And there's even more good news: It will last more than 40 years and should pay for itself many times over in energy savings since the cost of Roof insulation is relatively low.
Restoration of houses made of non-traditional materials.
If you live in a historic home or a home built from local traditional stone or other materials, use appropriate roof insulation materials and methods. Otherwise, your home may not stay as warm or dry as it should. It may be best to consult or hire local workers trained in the techniques involved.

KEEP ME WARM, OSCAR PIASTRI.
content warnings! fluff, kissing, teasing, fem!reader, established relationship, just oscar being the cutest bf ever.
Tumblr media
it's spa, oscar's absolute favourite track and one of the most anticipated races of the season.
his excitement is obvious from the way he stares out the car window as you drive to the circuit, his lips curling into a wide, giddy smile.
now, the two of you are in the midst of preparations for the first practice session of the day. the paddock is a hive of activity, and you find yourself hurrying through it, desperately trying to reach the motorhome.
spa's weather is notoriously unpredictable, and today is no exception; the cold is biting and relentless.
once you manage to get inside, a shiver runs down your spine as the warm air from the heating system envelops you, offering a welcome respite from the frigid conditions outside.
you quickly drop your bag on the sofa in the main room, the warmth is slowly starting to seep into your body, but it's a gradual process.
when oscar finally finds you, you are already curled up on the couch, hugging your knees in a desperate attempt to conserve heat.
"feeling warm?" oscar teases, leaning casually against the doorframe.
"god, i forget how cold spa can be sometimes," you groan, rubbing your hands together furiously in an effort to acclimate to the heater inside the hub.
your cheeks are rosy, and your nose has taken on a pink hue. you're really starting to regret your wardrobe choice. from the hotel room window, the sun had been shining, and it had felt particularly warm.
while you made a smart decision to wear pants long enough to keep your legs warm, you hadn't thought to bring a jacket or anything to properly cover your arms.
"i feel like an ice cube," you admit, shivering slightly as you rub your legs up and down in a repetitive motion to generate some sort of heat.
oscar's eyes soften with concern as he notices your teeth chattering uncontrollably. without a moment's hesitation, he crosses the room and settles beside you on the couch.
he wraps one strong, comforting arm around you, pulling you close until your head rests in the crook of his neck.
a shiver runs through your body at the initial contact, and oscar chuckles softly, the sound vibrating warmly through his chest.
"well, you look a lot like one too," he teases, placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head. "you'd think you'd know to dress warmer by now, seeing as we come here every year."
"i know, i know," you sigh, leaning further into his embrace.
oscar is dressed in his fireproof overalls and race suit, the thick material of his outfit seems to insulate him perfectly against the cool weather. as he moves away from you, the loss of his warmth is immediate and almost makes you whine in protest.
"wait, i think i've got something for you," oscar says before he disappears into his driver's room, leaving you both curious and a bit confused.
moments later, he reemerges, holding a long puffer jacket that looks like it could easily swallow you whole. the jacket's hemline looks like it will sag below your knees, and it's clear from oscar's smug expression that he already knows how you're going to look.
oscar gives the coat a gentle shake as he stands in front of you. "put your arms out f'me, gorgeous," he instructs.
you give him a questioning look, hesitating for a moment before sighing and lifting your arms. oscar helps you into the coat, and it's instantly apparent how oversized it is.
the sleeves hang comically past your hands, and the hood almost obscures your vision.
oscar's lips curl into a cheeky grin, and you can't help but look unimpressed.
"what?" you huff, placing your hands on your hips. oscar, however, just bursts into laughter.
"you look..." he starts, but his laughter cuts him off. he takes a moment to compose himself before continuing, "honestly, you look adorable," he finally says, his smile softening as he reaches out to gently squeeze your cheek.
you glance down at the jacket, noticing that it's meant to fall just above your knees but is now dangling very much below. you find yourself unable to contain your own giggles.
"hey, shouldn't you be getting ready for practice now?" you ask, eventually settling down and trying to shift the focus away from the jacket.
oscar glances at the clock on the wall behind you, then back at you, a sigh escaping his lips. "yeah, you're probably right," he agrees, though his reluctance is clear.
he crosses the short distance between you again, his hands cupping your face as he leans in to place a chaste kiss on your lips.
"make me proud, piastri!" you call out as he heads towards the door, giving you one final smile before exiting the team hub.
now that he's gone, you waddle over to the food and drink station in his ridiculously oversized jacket, searching for something to warm you up even more.
the aroma of freshly brewed drinks and baked goods fills the air. you make yourself a steaming cup of hot chocolate hoping it will help chase away the lingering chill.
an hour later, oscar stumbles back into the motorhome, looking utterly exhausted. his hair is slightly disheveled, a tired look in his eyes, and his movements are sluggish, reflecting his fatigue.
you're curled up on the sofa, nursing a cup of hot chocolate while focusing on your phone. wrapped in the puffer jacket with the hood pulled up. you look cozy and snug.
oscar practically collapses into the seat next to you, letting out a sigh and resting his tired head on your shoulder.
setting your mug down on the nearby coffee table, you reach out to brush your hand against his freezing, rosy cheeks. oscar lets out a satisfied hum and nuzzles his face further into your hand.
"you're freezing, babe," you say, straightening up and gently lifting his head from your shoulder to get a better look at him.
"i know," he groans, leaning into your touch, his cheek pressing warmly against your palm. the contrast between his chilled skin and his warm breath against your hand is striking.
you cradle his cheek, gently running your thumb over his skin. a giggle escapes you as you take in his rosy cheeks and red nose, trying to suppress your laughter and turn it into a more affectionate gesture.
oscar gives you a playful glare, noticing you biting back a smile. "oh, don't you start." he warns, half-serious.
"sorry, osc. you just look like rudolph the red-nosed reindeer," you tease, smiling as you press a soft kiss to his twitching nose.
he sighs dramatically. "you're so lucky i love you," he pretends to be annoyed, though he can't hide the smirk tugging at his lips.
"how about i make you some hot chocolate to warm you up?" you offer, your fingers threading through his fluffy hair.
he hums approvingly. "please."
you lean down to press yet another soft kiss on his nose. "i'll take care of you." with that, you stand up and head to where the coffee machines and food are laid out.
you grab another mug, milk and chocolate powder, carefully mixing the ingredients to make oscar one of the best hot chocolates ever. you take your time, ensuring that it's perfect. you know how much he loves hot chocolate.
oscar watches you like a puppy, admiring the look of concentration on your face. he could never tire of seeing that face, even on the brink of hypothermia.
he's quickly pulled out of his sleepy haze when he hears you calling his name and sees you approaching with a steaming mug cradled carefully in your hands.
you carry the mug to the sofa, a small smile playing on your lips. "there you go, oscar," you say softly, holding out the mug for him to take.
oscar grasps the hot mug in his hands, sighing in instant satisfaction as the heat of the liquid radiates into his pale fingers.
he brings the mug to his lips, taking a cautious sip. his eyes flutter shut, and a look of pure bliss washes over his face as the warmth spreads through him.
as he inhales the sweet, soothing aroma of the hot chocolate, the tension in his shoulders begins to ease, and a contented smile tugs at the corners of his lips.
oscar lifts his eyes from the mug to your face "thank you, baby," he murmurs, his voice a bit raspy from the cold and exhaustion.
you sit beside him with an affectionate smile, fingers gently combing through his hair as he sips the hot chocolate. "you're welcome, sweetheart." you say, your touch soft and soothing. "although, i don't think i'm giving this jacket back to you. i know i might look like a worm, but god, is it soft."
he mock groans in disapproval, his expression playfully exaggerated. "oh, really now? you little thief." he teases, taking another sip of the sweet drink.
the warmth and sugar seem to be restoring him, bit by bit, making him feel more like a normal human being again.
oscar places the mug on the small table in front of the sofa, then leans back into the cushions comfortably, a sigh of contentment escaping his lips.
you snuggle closer, lowering your head onto oscar's shoulder. "i dunno, osc," you tease. "i think it might be glued to me."
a comfortable silence follows, with you wrapped in each other's warm embrace. the occasional sound of the team chattering and entering and exiting the team hub creates a soothing background noise.
"i also don't think santa dresses his reindeers, so that's another reason why i can't give this jacket back to you,"
as soon as oscar hears you utter the word 'reindeer,' he knows you're bound to tease him again. he turns his head to look at you and gives you a faux glare. "you seriously aren't going to drop this reindeer thing, are you?"
you reply simply by pressing a kiss to his temple, and the warmth it brings him is far greater than any hot chocolate.

Getting ready to leave the house until you realize it's Friday the 13th. 👋🏼 #nevermind
Pompeii worms (Alvinella pompejana) make their homes at the top of hydrothermal vent “chimneys,” where superheated water belches from within the Earth’s crust, delivering a rain of mineral “ash.” Here, large numbers of worms live side by side, each darting in and out of their paper-thin tubes while waving pointy, rust-colored gills.
Pompeii worms build their tubes directly on the rocky vent chimneys. The base of these dwellings can experience temperatures up to 105 degrees Celsius (221 degrees Fahrenheit), and the inside of the tube isn’t much cooler either.
What’s the secret to surviving such scalding temperatures? The woolly worm scuttles back and forth between the hot water rich in nutrients and the cool water rich in oxygen—a movement that also mixes cool water into the tube. But more importantly, a fleece-like layer of bacteria helps insulate the Pompeii worm from the extreme heat.
On their own, Pompeii worms can only tolerate temperatures up to 55 degrees Celsius (131 degrees Fahrenheit), but their bacterial coating redistributes the heat to keep the worms cool. The bacteria not only help regulate the worm's temperature but also break down minerals from the vent to aid their host.

How to Camp for Beginners
Hello! Tis I, your local boy scout/girl scout/avid gay camper, here to give some top notch Advice™️ about camping! The season is nearly upon us and the woods are a callin' so let's get out there and be safe kiddos!
Before you Go!
Make sure you find a campsite you like and that fits your comfort level! There's ZERO shame in picking a place with cabins, public restrooms, showers, heated pools, hot tubs- whatever your looking for!
Once you pick your campsite, make sure you know the area around it- especially if camping somewhere your unfamiliar with! Example questions to make sure you know: Where's the local hospital? Where's the closest grocery store? Gas station? Are there rangers at your campsite and how do you get in contact with them? Does your campsite provide anything at all as a courtesy?
Also make sure you know the wilderness around you and prep accordingly -- if your camping in a site with bears during their non hibernating months, make sure you bring bear safe trash recepitecals if your campsite doesny provide them
Bring people with you. People you know and trust. Seriously, the buddy system saves lives. Do NOT camp alone unless you are an EXPERT and know the area EXCRUCIATINGLY well. This is also not the place to go with your new romantic partner/friend/friend or partners family -- some people are very good at pretending to be safe and getting you alone in the woods is when they stop pretending.
Pack layers. Make sure you bring at least one set of sweatpants and hoodie, bonus points if their insulated. It gets very cold at night in most wilderness locations, even in the summer.!
Bring at least one set of waterproof clothes, including rain boots and a waterproof coat.
Pack however many sets of underwear and socks you think you need to bring, then pack more. Bring an overwhelming number of socks
Bring good sneakers that are broken in but not worn out
Flashlight with extra batteries and a portable battery cube, fully charged
Make sure you have sunscreen and bugspray, your skin will thank yoi
While packing food, make sure you bring things that will last the trip in an insulated bag or cooler. Don't buy your ice until your close to your camp. Some campsites will even offer bags of ice at the ranger station!
Bring PLENTY of water. My brother always packs ten nalgenes full of water, others bring a big pack of water bottles. Stay hydrated!
If you're bringing a furry friend, make sure they are fully up to date on their rabies and Lyme shots
Pack In!
Make sure you have a full tank of gas when you arrive at your campsite
I personally like to leave my phone in my car while I camp. Bring books/art supplies/journals or whatever you do for fun -- if that's your phone and you have service, great!
Having said that, if you ARE having a technology free camping trip, pick one person in your group with the best phone and declare them the emergency phone person
Best doesn't mean newest -- your friend who hates capitalism and has a Nokia that can survive nuclear fallout should be picked over your friend with the brand new super fragile iphone
Make sure the emergency phone remains fully charged and comes with you when you leave the campsite. Most emergency calls will work without cell service, but a dead phone can't make calls
Make sure you get the rangers number! Rangers are your friends, they want you to have a safe trip and are there for all your questions!
Also make sure to respect the rules of whatever campsite you're at -- if you're on boy scout property for example, you absolutely CANNOT bring alcohol. If you're having a fun adult camping trip, make sure you know the weed laws in that state before your puff and pass.
While setting up your campsite, try to find somewhere dry, that's not located near the bottom of a hill or next to a river.
Try to find places that don't have a ton of loose rocks or dirt, but where the ground is soft enough to nail in stakes for tents/canopies
Most campsites will have an assigned area with a fire pit, but if yours doesn't, make sure you collect enough rocks to build a fire circle before roasting any s'mores!
If your campsite doesn't let you bring cars past a certain point, make sure you know the fastest and safest route to the parking lot
I cannot stress how important it is to make sure you know the emergency numbers -- if theres a medical emergency, you may not be able to get someone to the car. Rangers will have ATVs and paramedics will have the skills to get people out of situations
Make sure your first aid kit is well packed with plenty of bandaids antiseptic and gauze- triangle bandages are also a versitle tool that can help with sprains splints and holding bandages in place. Preferably bring someone who knows at least basic first aid or CPR -- if you can't find a friend with that knowledge, make sure to be extra nice to the rangers
Bring an extra large bottle of your preferred over the counter painkillers -- dehydration and too much time in the sun can cause headaches! Also nifty for twisted ankles or sore backs from sleeping on the ground.
If you forgot your tent stakes, that's okay, put a spare cooler/bag/something heavy in the center of your tent to weigh it down in case of high winds.
If you forgot your rain canopy, a ripped trashbag will work in a pinch, but be warned: it's gonna get hot as HELL in that tent
During your Trip
Sunscreen and bugspray every day- even cloudy days have high UV rays, melanoma kills
Whether cooking on portable grill or campfire make sure your meat is fully cooked.
Chopping your produce and meat and cooking them in two separate packets of tin foil makes delicious meals, plus it's easy to check how done it is
Speaking of fires, make sure you have fireproof gloves and tongs if cooking over a campfire
Zip tents if rain is predicted but believe me, tents are like fucking hot boxes, so try to get as much air movement as you can.
If your campsite doesn't have latrines/portapotties/bathrooms (and you didn't bring one) be a good friend and make sure your camp's designated potty site is down wind of your camp. Also, human droppings can attract animals, so make sure it's a good distance away
(seriously though consider bringing a porta potty they make ones for campers)
CHECK FOR TICKS!!!! CHECK FOR TICKS EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU CAN!!!
Ticks like warm, dark places, so make sure you check behind your knees, under your arms, the back of your neck, in your socks and your privates! Ladies- that includes under the boobies. Wearing long pants, high socks, or long sleeves can be a simple and efficient tick deterrent, especially in marshy areas or tall grass. Don't forget to check your pets if they came with you!
If you find a tick, get some tweezers, grasp as close to the skin as you can, and slowly but firmly pull down on the tick- remember, you want the head out. You can also use a credit card or any other dull edge to help push downward.
Wet feet cause blisters, so always wear socks and change them often. If you get a blister, DONT POP IT, cover it with a bandaid or surround it with moleskin
Hydrate hydrate hydrate hydrate, drunk water every fifteen minutes even if your not thirsty
Remember to respect the nature around you- don't go pulling leaves off trees or disturbing animal dens, stay away from pretty much any animal- yes, even deer, bucks can and will gore you If frightened enough, deer can tramble you and even the cutest little Birdy can carry rabies and other diseases.
Poison Ivy has three leaves, poison oak looks like a strangling vine, and poison sumac has berries. Make sure you know what grows in your camping area.
If you brought a pet, don't let them eat any plants!
Make sure to use the buddy system especially if someone starts feeling ill- a lot of really dangerous illnesses start out looking a lot like colds and flu
Make sure to have a bucket of water next to your campfire, and every night make sure to completely douse your fire before turning it. Splash water on instead of dumping and make sure every ember is out- remember, only you can prevent wildfires
If you brought a gas powered generator for your campsite, make sure it's as far away as possible from the fire pit. Also, they're quite loud, so maybe don't put it near your tent. Put it on the outskirts of the campsite and don't leave it running when you're not there
Pack out!
LEAVE NO TRACE!!! make sure you clean up ALL your litter, all of it, every single one. Check and triple check your entire camp site.
Make sure everyones tent poles and stakes end up with the correct tent- you'd be surprised how brand specific stuff like that is.
Especially don't leave any food items -- there's likely going to be another person filling that campsite soon, they don't need moldy food attracting critters!
If there's a sign out sheet, don't forget to sign out at the ranger station! If they had to evacuate the campsite for whatever reason, they'll need to know you're gone!
Do a final tick/other bug check- you don't need to be bringing bugs home with you! Also check that there are no critters are in your supplies -- this sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised where snakes and mice can end up.
Give your pets an extra good bath when you get home. You don't know what could've gotten stuck in their fur!
Tick/spider bites tend to look like bullseyes. If you develop bullseye shaped rashes after you get home, seek medical attention.
Most of all, have fun and be safe!!!

Money saving pro-tips to people from warm climates that move to a cold climate
Source: I lived with a southerner and a girl from LA in a northern city in the US and they wasted a lot of money.
Tip #1: Drop your heat at night, or any time you’re not home. Most people up north don’t keep the heat at the same temp 24/7. That shit's expensive. When I’m home, I keep my heat anywhere between 65-68F, but during the workday, or at night, that shit goes down to 60F. A lot of thermostats are programmable so you can have it set automatically to turn down while you're at work/at night.
Tip #2: If you’re leaving your home for over 24 hours, lower the heat as much as possible. I set mine to 55F. Apartments and even houses heat up pretty quickly, so there’s no reason to waste money if no one’s around, and you won’t die if you have to wear your coat indoors for a few minutes. Note: you can’t turn your heat off completely or your pipes will freeze.
Tip #3: If you’re home but you’re only going to be occupying one room for several hours, consider leaving the heat low and just buying yourself a space heater.
Tip #4: When buying a space heater, get one that has an internal timer or thermostat. They cost slightly more, but the bonus to these is that they don’t just continue putting heat into the air until you intervene. They will turn themselves on/off in intervals, which helps to keep your room at a more consistent temperature. Just don’t forget to make sure the heater is switched off if you’re leaving your home!
Tip #5: Get better socks. A lot of the cold you feel is actually just ur terrible, flimsy ankle socks not protecting you from the cold floor. If I’m lounging around at home, I wear those heavy duty fuzzy socks that have a whole internal double lining. I’m a raynaud’s bitch so I know what I’m talking about.
Tip #6: Fleece-lined leggings. Steal your bf’s fleece pants. Why do they make men’s casual sweats so much thicker than girl’s casual sweats? Literal bullshit.
Tip #7: Idk who lied to you and told you that a bed can only have one comforter, but that’s dumb. I sleep with two. It’s much warmer.
Tip #8: If you're in an old apartment/house, winterize your windows. You can buy winterizing seals and insulation anywhere online and it's very cheap.
