Figuring out where the line between appreciation and racism is always tricky. With Fashion items like the Heascarf it's mostly a question of association. Fact is that hundreds of years ago headscarfs were worn by female farmers while they were working. And that was in a lot of countries. Like in Germany. But would you associate headscarfs with Germany? Most wouldn't. Today the meaning ist different but it's mostly a Fashion item. So i think it's alright for you to wear it. But that's just the thinking of a caucassian Male that studied cultural Anthropology for a few semesters.

Can Caucasian girl wrap her head with scarf? I don’t know where are the boundaries… I love that style. But you never know. What if I will be called racist, not sensitive? Or being accused of stealing something from Black culture? Hell, can I use that word at all? I mean, not every person with African ancestors is Afro-American. What is word for folks with darker skintype and curly hair? Is Black okay? I need some serious help.

All I wanted was wearing nice scarfs.

And now I have dilema about words.
