speaking of overly specific fics that cater almost exclusively to my own interests, jotting down a note here for @suddenrundown and my heartsong au wherein eliot covers lana del ray's young and beautiful (cover showing closest vibe for how he would sound, but also should include more notes from the second cover i link below) but he changes the main chorus to ♫ will you still love me when im no longer strong and as useful? will you still love me when i got nothing but my aching soul? ♫ and then hardison sings the first ♫ you know we will ♫ and then parker answers the same before eliot sighs, reassured, ♫ i know you will. ♫ and then for the bridge, parker and hardison take over to sing (sounding like this cover) ♫ hey whoever's out there, if there's a heaven / please let us bring our man. ♫ similar to the cover i shared, hardison would go ham appreciating all that body and parker would flutter high over diamonds

So a while ago (like before Trolls 3 was even announced), I created my own AU for what a third part would be like. And it’s crazy, because the idea I had also included a troll named Viva, a long-lost sibling, crazy troll hair, crochet, etc. I decided to share some stuff about it before the Band Together movie comes out!

Above is an edit on who my new troll would be. I’m lazy and am probably never going to update her clothing so it’s the same as canon Viva’s.

Originally my new troll (nicknamed Vi) was going to be Poppy’s sister. Here’s her original design:

Orange skin for Peppy, purple hair for their mom (who had pink skin and purple hair, the skin color passed down to Poppy). I wanted Poppy’s mom and Poppy’s sister to have similar names, like how Poppy and Peppy do. Their mom was named Viva, short for vivacious, which basically means happy (but in women). And her sister’s name was Vi, short for violet. When the Poppy was still an egg and the tree was first taken by the Bergens, there was an escape plan prior to the movie. That’s why the tunnels were already there. Viva, who held VI’s egg, got separated by fallen rubble after the Bergens tried to shovel up the escaping trolls, and they were presumed dead.

Cue the events of the first movie, the trolls and Bergens come together, and the second movie with the rest of the music trolls happen.

Then, twenty-five years thought to be dead, when a mysterious troll arrives in Pop village.

This is where I decided to change Vi’s character and design a bit. Here’s her final color look:

I changed Vi to Branch’s old friend. I kept the prior escape attempt, but this time, like, three-year-old Vi (not Poppy’s sister anymore) saved Branch’s mom with her hair in that hair-turns-into-protective-spheres-around-the-troll way. Also, in this one, the old Bergens were using blowtorches instead of shovels.

Vi and Branch’s parents, alongside half of the trolls, were considered dead and charbroiled. That’s why Branch was raised by his grandma and took it so hard when she died, thinking now his entire family was lost to the Bergens.

First movie, second movie, enter Vi again.

I wanted something different than what we’ve seen before. Trolls rely on their hair a lot, for stairs, rope, protection. But Vi’s hair was singed short after little her saved Branch’s mom from a blowtorch. She’s had to rely on her wit and ingenuity to survive this long. I originally designed something close to canon Viva’s cape, but bigger and with a hood, so Vi could still camouflage herself pretending to be a little tuft of grass when she huddled up and pulled the hood over her singed hair.

The plot of the third movie would be, basically, Vi arrives in Pop Village and says she needs Poppy’s help. The Lost Pop Trolls have been in hiding all this time, first from the Bergens, second from the Hard Rock Trolls, but now the threat is over and Vi can talk to Queen Poppy.

There’s something brewing in the troll kingdoms. It’s called the Colorless, and it’s sucking out all emotion from Trolls and Bergens alike. And no song can bring it back.

It started in Pop City, where Vi was from. Their queen, Viva (Branch’s mom) has it, and the only cure is something called the Heartsong flower. She came to ask for Poppy’s help, and then saw Branch.

Another thing I wanted to be different was Poppy and Branch’s dynamic. Don’t get me wrong, I ADORE the sunshine/ grumpy ship. But what I won’t like is seeing the man completely WHIPPED and the woman acting like she could care less, especially if they’re supposed to be in a relationship. And let’s be honest, Poppy could treat Branch a little better.

(All we got when Branch got rock-zombified was a “branch!” and WE KNOW Beanch would’ve been screaming Poppy’s name if the roles were swapped)

In this movie I wanted Poppy to be the jealous one. Branch and Vi would bond through their protectiveness (I assume Vi would be a sort of guard for Pop City), their ingenuity (Vi crafts stuff to help her get around without hair, such as a grappling hook or stuff. Branch uses Gary— I want to see his boy introduced into movie canon— and Poppy can get jealous over that).

Anyways, Poppy’s at first SO WELCOMING of Vi and convinces a wary Branch to join her on their quest to find the Heartsong flower. Branch is distrusting at first, as the last new troll to enter Pop Village was Barb and she almost caused the end of all music, but on the adventure he and Vi bond over old childhood memories and Vi telling Branch about his mom.

POPPY gets jealous, and this time COMMUNICATES to Branch when he asks how she feels because they’re a HEALTHY couple who loves each other (they’re totally dating btw I’ve been waiting TWO MOVIES AND TWO TV SERIES FOR THEM TO DATE)

The movie would be about Branch, Poppy, and Vi going on a quest to find the Heartsong flower, which was actually in season by the Northern Troll Tree. Aka where the Old Bergens lived.

(After the first escape attempt with half the trolls pressured dead, the Bergens kicked out those appointed with protecting the Troll Tree, like they did to Chef during the second attempt. The Old Bergens moved up north, where they started a new tree and fed on any stray troll crazy enough to wander up there.)

I guess the moral of the story can be that even though someone is from an older generation, it doesn’t mean they’re incapable of understanding equality is still needed. I’d like it if it could be perceived as an LGBTQ metaphor, like just how people are old doesn’t mean they can’t get that everyone can live in harmony, harmony, harmonyyyyyyyy

At the end Ofc I want a Broppy proposal. You know that scrapped song at the end of Frozen II where Kristoff fumbled through his proposal and Anna ends up proposing to him? Yeah that’s what I want

(And maybe we see Vi at the end talking to DJ Suki or whatever saying dinner would be nice OK I’M PROJECTING I JUST WANT SOME GAY AND THE TROLLS ARE FMNCKNG RAINBOW)

Though that could turn off a lot of adult audiences (old Bergens lmao) so maybe just some quiet background stuff hard to catch, like Gwen’s “Protect Trans Kids” flag in AtSv.

In the soul mate au between Miko and Tarn, the incoming Cybertronians would think that Jack Darby is the biggest ho to ever ho.

Ratchet is dying because Jack's mannerisms and ways of affection do remind the medic of the halcyon days with Orion Pax, pre-Megatronus. (Mind you, Ratchet has rose-tinted glasses about those days and feels really nostalgic over Orion's quirks. Even if he had to bail the mech from jail several times and stop him from eating tampered fuel substances.) And he just wants his other colleagues and fellow Autobots to know the real Jack.

Unfortunately, Jack has a tendency to meet all the newcomers in various states of undress, aka without his armor, which is a very shameless state.

Ratchet first walked into a freshly cyberformed!Jack, coming out of the shower with only a towel around his waist because of the nasty amount of sludge in every inch of his frame. Even his armor needed a deep scrubbing. In parts.

Soundwave remet the guy in his swim trunks because he came from relaxing in a geyser.

The first time he met the Justice Division, he was stripped down to sweatpants while Miko was categorizing his opened chassis, including his spark chamber. Miko was practicing the new educational module from Soundwave and Ratchet, and Jack was the willing dummy since they were trying to nail down the differences between baseline Cybertronians and their hybrid status. So not just shameless, but in a highly provocative position as well. Miko and Jack were treated to the sight of stumped D.J.D. members with slaw jaws and choking noises.

So now, mecha are thinking that Jack and Miko have an "understanding." And Tarn's jealous over it.

Jack breathed as evenly as possible. Body still as Miko carefully traced his new organs, muttering Neocybex under her breath on what each part was called, both in Pit Kaonite and Iaconi medical. Her fingers were blunted, not her usual talons, as she skimmed the connections, musculature, protoform, and circuitry. Jack closed his optics, sinking into a light mediation, and only shivered as those fingers brushed over his new heart.

"How does this feel," Miko questioned as she coaxed the chamber to open. And he allowed it. All three of them had been together for lifetimes, and very little boundaries existed between them at this point.

"Weird," Jack replied as his spark quivered, white light blinding, shadows playing across Miko's curious face and the walls.

"Good weird? Bad weird? Spiritual possession weird? You have to give me something more descriptive." She said with exasperation, teeth glinting in the byplay between light and shadow.

"Dangerous weird." His words hitched, body twitching, vision clouding at the edges, and he forced down the sudden instinct to flee-FLEE into dark corners, to sink into the safety of the furniture shade.

Due to the uplinks between them, Miko immediately applied the medical overrides, and the painted diagnostic sigils flared to life across his limbs, and Jack went limp, tension cut from his body.

Miko frowned. The geared rings in her amber optics turned as she ran calculations, and whatever she was about to say was cut as the closet door opened.

Jack couldn't see them as he was sitting on the couch with his back towards them, but he picked up quite a crowd. All of the individuals choking on air. Wings twitching from the unknown signatures suddenly appearing in his space, and Miko lined her own over his, exuding calm-still-potential allies.

She huffed, amusement and annoyance warred in her field as she quickly pulled off the sigils with a fanciful twirl of her fingers, and they worked together to disconnect their systems from each other. Jack shut closed his chassis, and his innards dispersed once more, spark chamber hiding wherever it was. It was honestly far more difficult for him to drag that specific organ to the open air than his first attempts to blend his new metal frame into living trees. "This isn't what it looks like, old man."

Jack pulled over his shirt to cover his protoform, and turned around, dark and pink wings avoiding each other in familiarity, to see Ratchet running a servo down his face and an assortment of bewildered strangers staring at them through the portal. Even if the Decepticon badges weren't gleaming on a chassis, the tank with the mask shaped as the very Decepticon logo was a dead given away of their allegiance.

:: Soundwave does it better. He got the extra creep factor without the eye holes. :: Miko snorted through the private channel, crossing her arms as she leaned on the back of the couch, deceptively loose and uncaring.

:: Hey, don't knock down a perfectly good presentation. Eyes are windows to the soul, and eyes make others feel at ease. Soundwave gives no fucks about normalcy or social manners. ::

I love soulmate au's. I cannot tell you how many fics I've read or how many prompts I've played with or media I've consumed or how many bullshit ideas I've come up with in my own head for them, I CANNOT.

It's just - hhhhhhhhhhhh- Soulmate au's and Time Travel au's are just the shit that gets me out of bed some days 😩💖my world weary soul drinks that shit like medicine, okay?

That all being said, it's probably a little ambiguous which au I picked to some, so let me explain: There are two au's I'm mashing up here really, both are from fics I've read back in the day. One being a Clack fic and the other a Thilbo one 🤷‍♂️kind of calling myself out here but w/e, they were good fics.

The Thilbo one is easier to explain - the concept is "Heartsong" which is, literally what it says on the tin. You find out who your soulmate is the first time you hear them sing (and no, that does not mean everyone is just a naturally good singer - they can be ass at music but, the point is, when you hear them their song is the perfect song for you and your heart knows that). There's a lot of little nuances to this one - things like you hearing your heartsong when you dream so you always know the moment you find them. Also people who have quiet dreams because their heartsong died, sometimes before ever even meeting them. etc etc. The heartsong also seems to expand, in some respect, to instruments (as Thorin plays his harp one night and Bilbo starts to hum without thinking about it because it sounds wonderful to him and that's how Thorin finds out).

Overall, it's a very soft and sweet concept to me and as someone who has a deep love of music, it's also one of my very favourites.

The Clack one is a little less easy to explain? I think. Maybe because it's nuances are so round about but I'll do my best. The concept for this one is "I Only See Colour When I'm With You" - anyone who knows how Clack fics usually go knows where this is probably headed 😂 and I am sorry to have hurt you but, overall, the idea is: You live in a noir-esqu world where everything is black and white. This only changes when you find your soulmate, of course, who brings the world into full saturation and lets you see colour for - possibly - the first time in your life (I say possibly because I genuinely can't remember if you start out colourblind or if it's an age cap thing).

Unfortunately, for as much as I adore this concept, it's been a long damn time since I read the fic and I don't even know if it still exists somewhere. So I can't actually recall if it was a 'you have to touch them' or 'you have to hear them' thing but the fic takes place with Zack on the cliff right before Midgar where he holds Cloud and looks at the sky - so I'm willing to bet it's a touch thing.

I also really loved this fic because it was the first one I'd read that brought in the concept of multiple soulmates to me - As Cloud later sits with Aerith and sees the colour he couldn't see with Zack, meanwhile Aerith only sees black and white, because she was only able to see colour with Zack (who was never able to see colour with her, because he needed Cloud for that).

Essentially, they all needed each other to see the world in colour. As a polyam person who didn't quite realise I was poly back then, it was a very comforting (and now dearly cherished) fic.

Anyways! Now that you have the background on the two concepts, you can kind of get what I'm going for with this piece.

Tamarack, Micha and Qiu are all soulmates in a fuzzy, desaturated world (I'm sorry, I'm not cruel enough to but them in complete greyscale LOL) and the way you find your soulmate is by hearing them sing and, when they do, your world is suddenly vivid and bright and beautiful. Suddenly, you can see things as they were meant to be seen and it's a permanent change (unlike the Clack fic) but things are always clearest and brightest when your soulmate speaks or sings 💖

I get a real kick out of the idea that Micha's known for fucking months that Tamarack is his soulmate (if not years) because he's always listening to her play but never says jack shit about it because he's emotionally constipated that way 😂Though genuinely, it's probably because he just doesn't think he's her soulmate and he's a bit against finding out he's right honestly.

Joke is on him, he's Qiu's and Tamaracks soulmate! And he couldn't have picked a better moment to grow a pair an take the risk 🥰

The full thing, without breaks or edits to fit: The guitar originally belonged to Jagged Stone. A witch himself, Jagged enchanted several guitars to be unbreakable, because at the time one of his bandmates was really into the whole "smash your instrument at the end of a big musical number". When Anarka left, she took one by accident, but Jagged was like "It's fine, keep it, I've got like fifteen of the things. Your kid can play it when they're old enough". Which is a very sweet sentiment, but Luka's Heartsong ability made him hyper aware of, and sensitive to, magic and enchantments. When he was little, he had no real control or defences, so when he touched the guitar, or was even too close to it, it's enchantment would "buzz" against his senses in a really unpleasant way, making him unable to play it. Anarka put it away, where it couldn’t bother Luka, and basically forgot about it until Chloe shows up asking for loud music. Hearing her rant about unions and worker's rights, Anarka's sucker punched back to her own youth (you CANNOT convince me that Anarka wasn’t someone who went to rallies and protests, if only for the pure chaos potential) and has a lightbulb go off in her head. She hands the guitar over to Chloe, with the sage advice that, if you are going to to confronting police, you need a blunt object to defend yourself with, preferably one that can’t properly be classified as a weapon.

Activist!Chloe: Guitar Origin - it belonged to Jagged Stone. He enchanted it to be unbreakable, because at the time, he had a band ate who was really into the "smashing guitar after massive musical number". Anarka took it by accident when she left, and jagged was like "Keep it, I have fifteen, your kid can play it when they're old enough". Only, Luka's Heartsong thing made him super sensitive to all kinds of magic for a long while, and the enchantment on the guitar would "buzz" against his (1/2)

For the next Fic Finder, I read this long time ago and can't remember the title but it was a long fic (one shot) and I remember it was an AU (kinda futuristic from what I remember) where Wei Ying was a werewolf shifter and he was on the run when he got transported/summoned to another world by some mages Lan Zhan being among them when he first came to the new world. There's some magic academy mystery they needed his help with and in the end Wei Ying stays in the new world with Lan Zhan. I also remember towards the end, the reason Lan Zhan was involved and so intrigued by Wei Ying because his brother turned into a werewolf but with none of his humanity and he was trying to find a solution to save him. Wei Ying was helping with him when he went back with Lan Zhan to his home.

7. Hi!! I've looked for this fic on ao3 and my bookmarks list but I was unable to find it, maybe I've been filtering with wrong tags or keywords.

But from what I remember, it was an au where if you love someone enough, the first time you touch them you leave a colored mark on them. Wwx has left his signature red on most people, but has never had any marks left on him, not even from jyl. So he always covers himself up and wears gloves, accepting he'd never be loved, until of course Lwj leaves a blue hand print on him. It isn't a soulmate au though, I don't exactly remember if it was canon settings or modern settings.

8. Hi! There is a fic that i want to read again. The problem is, not only i don't remember much of the story, i don't know if this fic is from this fandom or detective conan. But i'm sure it's from this fandom. It's modern au where there are serial killer on the loose. WWX investigate it. He has an ability to see the corpse's past (i think he has an ability? Not sure about this part). But even with his ability, he can't solve it. There are connection between the victim. Their connection is the next victim is the one that found the previous victim (again i'm not sure if it only the one that found the body or other witnesses too). The state of their body is brutal. There are some evidence of torture. WWX investigate this until he become the target because he found the newest victim. I think he was kidnapped and when he wake up he is in a room. I don't know how to explain it but he tried to escape like the previous victims but the room or more like the place he was in is full of trap. If you ever watch danganronpa v3 side despair, the place is similar to when Nanami Chiaki died. Thats all i can remember. I trully hope its not my imagination. fic search: WWX was reincarnated and LWJ was immortal. Set in modern times. LWJ had a lot of little bits where he hadn't fully caught up with technology. I believe he had adopted LSZ as well? And may have been a music teacher?

I also believe both LWJ and LXC were immortal.

In WWX's modern backstory, he was on the outs with the Jiangs after he had accidentally injured JYL on her wedding day and she bad been in the hospital ever since, so Jin Ling was being raised by Jiang Cheng.

Wen Ning may also have been working at a coffee shop and may have been dating Mo XaunYu

I just had The STUPIDEST AU idea

Okay so. To preface. I was kind of obsessed with the movie Happy Feet as a kid. And one of the songs came up on a suggested playlist on my drive home, Boogie Wonderland.

I am not imagining characters as penguins. I am imagining them with the General Vibes of the penguins.

Specifically: Dorky Rex in a bowtie looking at his love interest with stars in his eyes, kinda unpopular because of A Mutation, and a love interest that's way out of his league. And, very importantly, his gaggle of Adélie hypemen

(I'm thinking Rexidala, because. Padme is out of everyone's league)

This isn't really a fic AU, it's more a "someone draws a couple scenes inspired by the movie" kind of art AU.

The image in my head is Rex standing flushed and grinning after his lil tap dance number...

Trolls 3 redraw!

Poppy and Vi, my Trolls 3 AU character. Her hair was singed short during the first Troll Tree escape attempt (prior to the movie. I’ve always wondered how those tunnels got there. So I made a reason why. The first escape attempt failed, but the second one with King Peppy and baby Poppy didn’t since they already knew how to navigate the tunnels beforehand).

Vi can’t use her hair at all. She can’t grow it to make stairs or a protective hair-ball, so I thought a cape like Viva’s would be good, just with a hood so she can pull it over her head and hide like a piece of grass when danger comes. Her ears are also more pointed and downturned like Branch’s, since she’s technically a different type of Pop troll.

She’s still in Viva’s clothes bc I felt too lazy to finish

Birthday Spotlight - Ash Glashtyn

[27th February - Pisces]

Ash Glashtyn, the fun-loving, cheerful, highly-sadistic and hypersexual Unseelie waterhorse from the canon Fae Tales series, adopted brother of Augus Each Uisge, and eater of humans, has been a beloved and then polarising character among readers. He's been a star in a couple of stories, but mostly he exists as a comedic, sexual, dangerous foil to his composed, sinister brother.

Ash Glashtyn is a monster who is ashamed of being a monster, but when he's a human, he normally has way less internalised issues with himself, and just wants to make the most out of life! He lives big, loves travel, loves everyone, but doesn't want any romantic relationships out of life. This boy will fuck everyone, and finds everyone stunning and beautiful and worthy of his time, but he's solidly aromantic and isn't planning on sexually cohabiting with anyone (with the exception of Strange Sights and The Wildness Within!)

An unlikely mediator, annoyingly charming, human loving, relentlessly curious, intensely protective, and appreciator of the sensual, Ash is one of the most 'human' of the Fae characters, and I've been happy to have him by my side for over ten years.

Shadows and Light - (fanfiction) First mentioned in From the Darkness We Rise, and his first official appearance in Into Shadows We Fall, Ash was a beloved character early on despite being on the enemy side and loving the worst villain in the story. An affable and obvious victim who just wanted the best for his brother, Ash struggled to come to terms with the fact that his brother needed to be defeated, and was vital in securing the win/victory for the good guys, even as it meant ruining himself in the process.

The Wildness Within - (AU) The truly sane part of an OT3 featuring Augus, Gwyn and Ash, Ash managed to keep his brother grounded, get Gwyn out of shackles, stop Gwyn from running away in the human realm, and keep Augus from losing his mind when the Raven Prince kept throwing obstacles into their path. Ash was the compass point that kept them on the path to their true north in this story, and we'd not have the relationship we have between them, or the happy ending, without him!

From the Darkness We Rise - (fanfiction) Mentioned only.

Game Theory - (canon) Ash's first canon appearance is also an intense one. The first time we meet him he is drugged out of his mind, the second time he loathes Gwyn, and is drunk, and the third time he punches Gwyn hard enough in the face to break his cheekbone.

The Court of Five Thrones - (canon) Ash works on a book called 'how to lose friends and my brother by trying to be so overprotective while not listening to anyone.'

The Ice Plague I - (canon) Ash, having reconciled with Gwyn, joins the ensemble cast as Julvia's unlikely protector, and a watchful, compassionate eye on the group.

The Ice Plague II - (canon) Ash, starving into insanity like his brother, Augus, doesn't have a good time.

The Ice Plague III - (canon) We learn Ash's heartsong as he loses it, and meet the Glashtyn for the first time. Not a fun guy, it turns out! Or super fun actually, if you like songs about rape and torture. Which the Glashtyn does!

The Wildness Within - (AU) An OT3 of Ash/Augus/Gwyn, Ash here is his waterhorse self, and this story imagines a world where Augus saves Gwyn from his family, and he and his brother learn how to deal with a semi nonverbal torture victim, and become an unlikely polyamorous triad.

Quid Pro Quo - (AU) Gwyn/Ash. A mostly PWP series of Gwyn finding Ash in the human world, and being coerced-persuaded into sex that has a lot of overstimulation. A lot of hurt/comfort and aftercare moments.

Ash was initially conceived as a foil to the idea that 'all Unseelie fae are evil' in the same way that Crielle was conceived as a foil to the idea that 'all Seelie fae are pure and good.'

Ash Glashtyn's personality is based on actual folktales connected to the Glashtyn. He has been described as capable of great good and great harm, but he's also been described as a waterhorse capable of extreme evil and sadism. He's actually considered more sadistic than the Each Uisge, which I kept as a trait. In fact there is one story where the Glashtyn in human form stabbed long pins and needles into unsuspecting children and women through their buttocks, breasts and other fleshy parts.

The reason Ash looks the way he does was part of a complex storyline that never came together, which frustrates me, but otherwise Ash and Augus would look very similar so I needed something to differentiate them more easily! Plus I really loved the idea of a character who doesn't look immediately kind of 'dark and forbidding.'

Ash has been one of the most polarising characters. During the Shadows and Light era, most people loved him intensely. During the Game Theory era, people became split. People who never read SAL generally hated him until the very end of The Court of Five Thrones.

Ash's heartsong was a secret that only Augus knew for almost a decade. Even I didn't know it for a little while. I always told myself and others that the only time we'd all learn what it was, was when he lost it. When I knew what it was, I told everyone it began with an A. Only one person out of about 100 guesses got it right. :D

I mean, we’re not dead or being actively tortured so it’s like…prospects aren’t all bad.
