What is Healthcare IT Support?
Healthcare IT support refers to specialized services and solutions tailored to meet the technological needs of healthcare organizations, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems critical to patient care, administrative tasks, and overall healthcare delivery.
Key Components of Healthcare IT Support:
Infrastructure Management: Healthcare IT support involves managing and maintaining the infrastructure that supports electronic health records (EHR), hospital information systems (HIS), and other clinical applications. This includes server management, network monitoring, and ensuring hardware reliability to minimize downtime and ensure data accessibility.
EHR and Medical Software Support: IT support for healthcare encompasses the maintenance and optimization of EHR systems and medical software applications used for patient documentation, billing, and clinical decision support. This involves software updates, troubleshooting, and customization to align with the specific needs and workflows of healthcare providers.
Data Security and Compliance: Healthcare IT support ensures data security measures are in place to protect patient information in accordance with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This includes implementing encryption, access controls, and regular audits to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
Telehealth and Remote Care Support: With the rise of telehealth services, IT support for healthcare facilitates the deployment and maintenance of telemedicine platforms, video conferencing tools, and remote monitoring solutions. This ensures reliable communication between healthcare providers and patients, supporting virtual consultations and remote patient monitoring.
User Training and Support: Medical IT support provides training and ongoing technical assistance to healthcare professionals on using IT systems effectively. This includes educating staff on EHR workflows, security best practices, and troubleshooting common IT issues to enhance productivity and patient care delivery.
Emergency IT Support: Rapid response to IT emergencies is critical in healthcare settings. IT support teams are equipped to address urgent issues such as system outages, cyber-attacks, or hardware failures promptly to minimize disruptions to patient care and operational continuity.
In conclusion, healthcare IT support plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability, security, and efficiency of IT systems essential for delivering quality patient care. By ensuring robust infrastructure management, software support, data security, and facilitating telehealth services, IT support for healthcare organizations contributes to improved healthcare outcomes and operational excellence in the healthcare industry.

100 days of mental healthcare: day 58/100
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A girl knows she's going to have a good day when both of her screen wallpapers show Kiki even though they're in random mode 🥹
It was a good and productive day. I’m so so tired. I woke up early to help my husband with a presentation he couldn’t finish yesterday. We did it just in time for his meeting at 10 am 😮‍💨 then I worked for a few hours, had lunch, cleaned the kitchen, did dishes and studied Korean for an hour or so.
I'm only able to study Korean once a week and today I had to review several topics that I had already forgotten. Also, why is the man in the photo suffering so much when apologizing? I found it quite funny. After that I bought the supplies I’ll need for my next scented candle collection and I finally relaxed.
🩸: day 5/28
💧: 1,5 L
🏋🏻‍♀️: 🚫
🥋: tai chi chuan practice (35 min)
📝: Korean studies (1h): lessons on how to apologize + revision of main consonants + vocabulary learning
🎧: castle in the sky ost - joe hisaishi
🎮: 🚫
📺: 🚫
📚: hp and the half blood prince
🛑: 🚫
💊: took all my vitamins

saw a post about projecting your ethnicity onto a character and started missing vespa ilkay. so so bad
#pov u grow up in a 3rd world country(/planet) where healthcare workers are exported by the thousands like cheap produce to richer countries#it's your ticket out of poverty as long as you can deal with the loneliness the separation from everyone you know the discrimination etc#ive never talked about my hc that vespas mother was one of them sending money every month visiting every couple of years until it just stop#like why return to the swamps when youre doing fine working on a richer planet w much better living conditions#cost of living rises every year. sending home a % of your salary used to be enough to support your husband and daughter and then it isnt#you know how it goes#vespa is also dead set on this path until ranga realizes that hemorrhaging healthcare workers leaves them with little to none of their own#students on scholarships or in community/state universities are bound by return service agreements and are forbidden to leave the country#until theyve rendered a few years of work on ranga to pay back their tuition + as a really shitty solution to the brain drain problem#this is real in my country btw but my professors say a lot of ppl do break their rsa's and fucked off to work in other countries LOL#our state unis can barely afford decent facilities they do nottt have the budget to chase down their own alumni in other countries!#but the mental image is a bit funny#vespa ilkays first crime: tinakasan ang rsa#i do also think it lines up with her having a network of med friends everywhere in the galaxy (heart of it all) you kind of go into pre/med#expecting most of your classmates to leave to work in other countries eventually. mine are aiming for the usa / uae / europe / japan etc#anyway whether vespa breaks her rsa or not she leaves ranga asap decides to switch careers and the rest is history#i also deeply love the fact that she's superstitious i'm very sad it wasn't highlighted more (i've only heard s1-3)#as someone who did grow up in a rural area and went to more albularyos/folk healers than doctors in my childhood. (they never failed me)#lots of folk illnesses (ex. balis; pasma) local medical superstitions (dont eat noodles in hospital; youll have a really toxic shift) etcc#theres also a lot of potential in tying her past as a rangian + med student + assassin to me idk how to word this properly#being raised on cautionary tales of not to touch/disturb anything in the swamps then being given free reign to poke & prod at things in her#lab classes (now with the proper ppe)....she was having so much fun with the curemother prime too lmao#years of walking hanging bridges docks boathouses in ranga etc gave her great balance & stealth#cracking open alien shellfish in the swamps to cutting open bodies for studying then for assassination....#I MISS HER SO MUCH BALIK KN SAKEN 😭😭😭😭😭😭#i get why most people + the canon focuses on her being an assassin bc people find that cooler i guess#but vespa being a swamp girl > 3rd world med student > assassin is so personal To Me. the whole pipeline. eugh.#skl.txt

There is a dissonance issue that we still need to grapple with. The Left must stop trying so hard to separate people who are and are not criminals. Then, we need to revisit and process our Punishment kink. Justice does not now, nor has it ever come from the Criminal Legal System. The CLS can only offer retribution, which is something different. Police, prosecutors, judges, corrections officers only serve to uphold the system. That's their only real job. Keep boots on necks.
The need to seek justice for harms done is real, but the "justice" that many of us are seeking isn't an effective solution, and more often than not only serves to further reinforce systemic harm, spreading it around like a virus.
Criminality is subjective, and also, only a symptom. It's not the root disease, and until we stop frothing at the mouths to send people we don't like to jail or prison instead of dismantling those systems and building something that actually helps, we're going to be stuck in this cycle of never-ending horrors.
The Prison Industrial Complex must be abolished completely. That means that we need to start being a little bit more creative when it comes to what we want to see done with people who cause harm.
In order to make progress, we're going to have to face the fact that even people who have committed grave harms and injustices still have basic human rights.
As long as they breathe, and with the right approach, people can learn and grow. And even if some of them can't or choose not to, not trying is a reflection on us, not them.
When humans are kids, experts agree that we do not have the right to physically punish them or put them in cages when they mess up. Pet trainers also generally agree that you cannot punish an animal into good behavior. Between childhood and adulthood, however, there is a disconnect that happens with our brains, and suddenly it's justified and expected to use such practices on living humans that we perceive as adults.
I know what I am saying is counter to what we have been taught, but we don't have the natural right to confine or harm someone simply because they have done bad things. It's not about whether they deserve to be rehabilitated based on their merits. It's about the fact that our collective soul deserves the chance to help people instead of putting them in locked facilities to be assaulted, murdered, bullied, and extorted. We deserve a social agreement that recognizes that all people should have their basic humanity respected.
People can be reformed. Systems of Oppression cannot.

I am fundraising to receive a service dog from Doggie Does Good, which requires an $8,000 deposit and $3,500-$3,800 for the dog itself. For now, I’m just fundraising the deposit to get my foot in the door and begin the matching process.
Reaching out for help from others is a very scary thing for me, but I have reached a point of desperation.
For a very long time, I have struggled with severe social anxiety, persistent depression, and ADHD. As I have entered adulthood and gotten to know myself better, I have also come to strongly suspect that I have some degree of undiagnosed autism.
Though I have certainly made strides in improving my mental health over the years, I have reached a plateau that has proved impossible to find an upwards trajectory from on my own. I have become stuck in a headspace of feeling apathetic to my own suffering, existing daily in a depressed state that ranges from mild to debilitating, and struggling to find the energy to get out of bed.
With winter fast approaching and the sun going down earlier and earlier, I know that my depression is only going to worsen for the next several months. It scares me to think about.
Being able to afford a service dog is more vital than ever for me right now.
Thank you, sincerely and wholeheartedly, to all who donate to or share my fundraiser; you are helping me change my life for the better, and I will never stop being grateful. Every single cent makes a difference in chipping away at this daunting $8000 hurdle ❤️

What is a Bookkeeper’s Role in HIPAA-Compliant Businesses?
Healthcare organizations are expected to save and maintain lives, but as businesses, they must be HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant. This is required for healthcare businesses in the United States, a legal requirement designed to protect the privacy and security of patient’s personal health information (PHI).
HIPAA compliance creates a framework for safeguarding sensitive health information for a reliable healthcare ecosystem that can only be promoted by trustworthy professionals.
Tumblr media
These professionals in businesses like the top bookkeepers play a crucial role in protecting businesses by utilizing their expertise and ethical practices. Here are some ways in which reliable bookkeepers help and support HIPAA-compliant businesses:
Security
To protect financial records and PHI from unauthorized access, theft, or breaches, bookkeepers must implement appropriate security measures.  This includes utilizing secure computer systems, encrypted data storage, and password protection for financial software and databases.
Confidentiality
When handling financial records containing protected health information (PHI), bookkeepers must maintain strict confidentiality. Any individually identifiable health information, such as medical records, payment information, and insurance information, is considered PHI. Bookkeepers should ensure that access to such information is limited to authorized personnel only.
Record Retention and Disposal
Bookkeepers should adhere to HIPAA guidelines for the retention and disposal of financial records that contain PHI.  These guidelines specify the minimum retention period for different types of records and the secure destruction methods for disposing of sensitive information.
Monitoring and Auditing
Bookkeepers may be involved in auditing and monitoring financial transactions to ensure HIPAA compliance. This includes reviewing financial records on a regular basis, identifying any discrepancies or irregularities, and reporting any suspected violations to appropriate personnel.
Training and Awareness
Bookkeepers should receive HIPAA training and be aware of the specific requirements for financial transactions and record-keeping. They must understand the significance of maintaining PHI privacy and security, as well as how to deal with any potential breaches or incidents.
Business Associate Agreements (BAAs)
Under HIPAA regulations, bookkeepers who work with HIPAA-compliant businesses may be considered business associates. Any entity that performs services on behalf of a covered entity (such as a healthcare provider) and has access to PHI is considered a business associate. Bookkeepers should have a signed BAA with the covered entity outlining their responsibilities and obligations in terms of PHI protection.
The Bottomline
Overall compliance with HIPAA is a collaborative effort that involves numerous stakeholders, including healthcare providers, covered entities, and business associates.
Just like any other industry, efficient bookkeeping in healthcare is an essential component for effortless accounting processes to efficiently run a business. Hence it is a must to entrust a healthcare system’s finances only to trustworthy bookkeepers for long-term success.
So if you are a healthcare business owner or a healthcare business manager now is the time to get started! Learn how! Schedule a call now!

100 days of mental healthcare: day 24/100
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can’t believe it’s been already a month since my birthday! I’m so happy I’m taking better care of myself, but it’s also very sad that I haven’t done that in the last 29 years.
Today I woke up early, had breakfast and cleaned my house. I worked until 7 pm and ordered a burger because I was hungry and tired (also, I ate really well this week and I deserve a break from cooking my own food sometimes). I ate it watching one of my favorite Ghibli movies: Kiki’s Delivery Service 🥰
🥀: day 25/29
💧: 🚫
🏃🏻‍♀️: 🚫
🧘🏻‍♀️: 5 min of conscious breathing
📺: Kiki’s delivery service
📚: hp and the order of the phoenix
🎮: 🚫
🛑: 6h pick-free
💊: all vitamins were taken

Everyone wants to know how they’re doing. As a small business owner, this is critical to your survival. Because franchises often operate on tighter margins, knowing where to pull back on certain expenses (for example, marketing) or where to negotiate harder (for example, leasing property) or where to invest (buying new equipment) matters. If you’re not comparing yourself against your peers, you’re flying blind. And that might mean you’re making mistakes.
Here are three ways to compare your franchise against your peers, and why they matter.
Compare Your Revenue.
How much money are you making versus “Company B”? Before you start your research make sure you take an apples-to-apples approach. Choose a competitor that’s in your field, within your geographic location (or similar), with the same years in business, and of a similar size. Then compare your revenue.
What do differences in revenue tell you? For starters, don’t assume that if they have higher revenue that’s automatically bad. They might be overestimating their revenue, or not spending enough on things that will work against them (equipment, marketing, etc.). But it’s definitely something to look at.
COGS (cost of goods sold) as a percentage of revenue.
The cost of goods sold is how much money it costs you (equipment, staffing, supplies) to create and sell your products and services to your customers.
If your revenue is $10,000 a month and your COGS is $5,000, that means your COGS as a percentage of revenue is 50% (it costs you half of what you take in to sell your services).
What does your COGS as a percentage of revenue tell you? If your rate is higher than your competitor’s rate, you might be at a disadvantage—for some reason, you are spending more to deliver your services. Perhaps your competitor is simply charging more—that’s an easy fix for you. Or, perhaps you’re paying too much for equipment and supplies. Regardless, this gives you an opportunity to examine how you’re running your business and where you need to make changes.
Expenses as a percentage of revenue.
This one is a no-brainer. If you are spending more than your competitor and getting the same revenue, your rate of expenses to revenue will be higher. Similar to comparing COGS to revenue, this is also an opportunity to examine where you’re spending money, and where you might want to negotiate or cut back (for example, you might be spending more on payroll).
