Vanellope / Sugar Rush Headcanon: Birthdays
I wasn't sure about this for the longest time, since as a result of being video game sprites they wouldn't have them naturally: but I thought about it again the other day and decided that I think the Sugar Rush racers would have unique birthday dates - they'd just be coded into their programming, since they were never actually born.
I think, in fact, that each of them would have been given a birthday that's thematically appropriate to their individual candy designs: e.g. pumpkin-themed Gloyd's birthday would naturally be Halloween; Taffyta's, the start of strawberry season (although since Sugar Rush is a Japanese game in-universe, this may not correlate to what I as a Brit think of as strawberry season!); Snowanna's would be in winter; Adorabeezle's maybe 4th July, based on her design's resemblance to the American flag...
Candlehead's birthday, I think, would be set as the game's in-universe release date. I think that a racer's birthday is the one day a year when they're guaranteed a spot on the race roster without having to win it; so this would be the developers' way of making sure that, as the birthday-cake themed racer, Candlehead always shows up in the spotlight on the game's anniversary!
(Turbo, as an intruder to the game, wouldn't have a coded-in birthday naturally; but I think that, out of a combination of his ego and his confidence that no-one would catch on to his true identity, he would have set Turbo Time's release date as the birthday he built in when creating his King Candy persona...)
But this is kind of going off on a tangent here; the real point of this post is how it relates, of course, to Vanellope...!
Tumblr media
As a glitch, Vanellope never had a real birthday programmed in that she knew of; but I think she would have made up her own, even knowing that no-one would celebrate it with her. I'm not sure what date she'd have picked, but it would be one that felt significant to her. Once Turbo was defeated and everyone's memories unlocked, of course, the restoration of her princess identity brought with it the date of birth that she had been initially programmed with as well.
For a while, this was just neat for Vanellope, who simply celebrated both dates - two birthdays per year, just like real royalty! - but after a few years, she found the novelty wearing off. Once she lost the presidency (see point 5 of this headcanon post), she reverted to just celebrating one birthday a year: her chosen birthday date from her glitch years, regardless of what the game itself said.
Tumblr media
This makes her the only Vanellope, out of all the Sugar Rush cabinets all around the world, to have that birthday; and she'd kinda proud of that fact!

I came back from my finals with my personal head canon of king candy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since I head canon that there was an original king candy before turbo took over, I decided to draw the difference between the two. The original KC was much more saturated, jolly, had sparkles to represent sugar (since me and my friend head canon that he presents more than one candy like peppermint, sugar cubes, fruit leather, butterscotch, etc) and had vanellope as his daughter. I would also think his role in sugar rush would be an assistant, helper or a guide to the player. Turbo as KC would be more desaturated at least in looks and his eyes were noticeably sunken compared to the original (basically how he was in the first movie). What they have in common is their ability to serve cunt

slightly less inaccurate wreck it ralph size chart in comparison to real humans
Ralph's claim, "I'm 9 feet tall," is most likely FFJ measurements. So technically, Ralph is smaller than the 9-ft-tall pink person.
If Sergeant Calhoun is as tall as an average human...
Calhoun: average human height
Felix: 2'11"
Vanellope: 2'3"
KC: 2'5"
Ralph: 6'10"
This is most likely me playing around with heights. Could someone make a better WIR size chart relatively scaled with average, real-life humans?

Here it is! A character study for my take on Real!King Candy.
Tumblr media
If they are hard to read on this pic, allow me to rewrite them here for you:
• R!King Candy has brighter, larger eyes, a slightly smaller head, and rosier cheeks.
• In fact, his whole design is much closer to how the other racers look.
• The one who is the most precious to him is his daughter - Vanellope. He lightly spoils her and cheers for her during every race.
• She gets her thing for play-on-words from him.
• His role in Sugar Rush is a tutorial to give pop-up tips for new players.
• Since he’s an NPC, he can’t drive. 😂
• Turbo had him locked away in the fungeon for 15 years. And since Turbo used parts of his coding, he kept his memories.
———
(I swear I did not steal these from someone else, it’s just a coincidence that we have similar ideas)

Vanellope is the kind of kid to say "hey i have a surprise for you but you HAVE to close your eyes, ok?" and when you open your eyes you see that she handed you a fistful of worms

Do we think Turbo always had those sort of cartoony abilities that he does as King Candy?
Like the little floating hop he did while giggling about Ralph’s medal, the should-be physically impossible movement of his limbs at times, his use of Hammerspace, etc….

It's time for theories!
Disclaimer: English is not my native language (I am proudly Italian!), so I apologize for any errors!
I'm probably about to say something stupid or at least something that many have already said, but after yet another rewatch I was wondering about Vanellope's "power".
Tumblr media
At the end of the movie we find out that Vanellope's "glitch" was probably a player-usable power-up all along, and not a programming flaw (I assume). She states this once he crosses the finish line and, of course, recovers his memories.
So King Candy, when he made changes to the game, limited himself to "locking up" everyone's memories, including Vanellope's: by doing so she wouldn't have remembered her "power", she wouldn't have been able to manage it which she does when she finds herself faced with Turbo's ugly face and she would always have mistaken it for a flaw otherwise she would have kicked Candy's ass from the start, just like all the other characters.
But when Ralph questions Sour Bill, he tells him that once Vanellope crosses the finish line, it won't be a glitch anymore.
Tumblr media
What does it mean?
According to my theory, King Candy "exploited" Vanellope's power making it, in everyone's eyes, a programming error. He didn't create it from scratch. Basically, Candy didn't make Vanellope a glitch, he just overthrew her and erased her memories.
If Candy had made Vanellope a mistake, after the reset (like Sour Bill had said), she would no longer have her power. But this clearly remains with her.
So are Sour Bill's words an attempt to explain something he saw and can't explain? Is he the one who thinks she's a glitch? But above all, how does Sour Bill remember the changes made by Candy? In theory he too should have the memory of a peanut like the others.
At this point the following doubts arise: is Vanellope really a glitch? Did Candy make it this way, and despite the reset, did his changes remain permanent? Or is Vanellope's glitch, in fact, her power all along (as I believe it is)? And why on earth would Sour Bill remember certain things, if his memory was also imprisoned by Candy? That mint doesn't convince me.
I'm not sure I explained myself properly, but I need answers!

Count Galak x Victim!Reader Headcanons
💕⚰️🪲A Late Valentine's Day Special!👑🍬💕
Note: Okay, so, this one I just had to do and it is gonna be late by the time I post this, but whatever! I was chatting with my buddy @sneklover earlier ago and she inspired me to make a very self-indulgent Vampire!King Candy post. This is going to be based off of my Turboratu: An Arcade Game of Horror AU and you, my lovely reader, will be His Chosen One...
@sneklover @tiramegtoons/@sliceoflifesalami @starleska @snailstrailz @starryside-1 @depressedasswarlock @crispytubes @pippengin @simpingforcys @blackthewolf17 and anyone else who wants to read this!
Content Includes: Gender Neutral Reader, Slight Suggestiveness but SFW in general (this is a vampire AU, so lots of blood-drinking and hicki- I mean, biting), themes of death, some gore, spoilers for Nosferatu (the films from 1922, 1979, and 2024) and for Wreck-It-Ralph
Fun Facts about this AU:
The name "Galak" is actually the name of a real white chocolate candy bar that was released in the UK and Switzerland! I tried to find a German candy to name Vampire!King Candy after but this was the closest thing to "Count Orlok" I could find.
The victim in this AU is supposed to be an OC named Helena (a.k.a. Ellen Hutter); the reader will not be named after her, however they will be based on her!
The entire plot is essentially the original plot of Nosferatu but with Wreck-It-Ralph characters - honestly, this is nothing more than a silly little crossover for funsies, so if you want to do any fan art or fanfiction based on it, go right ahead!
The whole thing started with this little venn diagram here:
Tumblr media
As usual, click on the name/title for a love song!
Tumblr media
Count Galak, the Turboratu
You had the premonition since your beloved Felix left for his journey.
For years, you had been haunted by visions of a dark specter, a shadow engulfing all life and light until everything becomes nothing.
Nothing but a desolate land of death where you and that very specter live happily together...
You tried to tell Felix not to go, but such an opportunity was much too important for him not to take it.
It would bring prosperity to you both, yes, but why must he go away so soon?
Nevertheless, you supported him, giving him a token of love for his travels, and watched in abject despair as he left.
But of course, you were not completely alone; Felix's companions, Ralph and Vanellope, were to watch over you while he was away.
He knew of your... melancholy and he would die at the thought of you succumbing into horrible heartache.
You loved him, you really did, and he you.
But even the purest form of love between newlyweds wasn't enough to stave off the nightmares.
Ralph and Vanellope, bless their hearts, they did what they could to cheer you up.
Walks along the Game Central Station, trips to Tapper's, even a race or two, but all in vain.
You could not shake the feeling of doom approaching the Arcade. Some infestation breaking loose.
And sure enough, you were right. And by all that is good, you wished you were wrong.
As the weeks went by, Felix was nowhere to be found, and slowly the world became... sicker.
A plague had taken hold on one of the ships, owned by the prestigious Captain Calhoun, and through this vessel, it laid siege upon the other games.
Cybugs. Carriers of death, consumers of life.
They crawled from the depths of whatever hellish pit they came from and ate their way into everyone's life.
Many fell, leaving helpless souls to be gameless, or worse unplugged.
As this plague began to rise, your darling husband came back.
Felix was beyond frightened - he had seen a monster far more horrible than anything he could ever comprehend.
He was paler, visibly shaken, and upon his neck were two small hole-like wounds that hadn't healed since they were first made.
During his recovery, he warned everyone of this man, this demon, the power he held, and worst of all, he was coming for you!
While Felix, Ralph, Vanellope, and Captain Calhoun, made their plans to fight the source of the plague, you were told to stay put.
From Felix's journey, he had acquired a small book on fearsome creatures of the night, given to him by one of the locals from the game he visited.
"When the sun has set and the moon rises over the sleeping land, from the grave rises the Turboratu - the Prince of Cybugs, Lord of the Night - to drain the coding of his victims. Immortal as he is, the only thing that can end this evil beast is for an uncorrupted game character to offer themselves in willing sacrifice. Thus his hunger shall distract him long enough until Litwik's Arcade opens."
Reading those words was enough to ignite that spark of courage in your heart.
You waited until nighttime, when at that moment you feigned a terrible fainting spell so that Felix could leave you alone as he rushed out to find a doctor.
You knew the Count was living right across from your game, as you've heard from Felix's accounts, and you made sure to gain his attention.
And sure enough, he was watching you from its entrance. Unblinkingly.
There were no words between you two; you didn't need to say anything to him.
You had opened a window of opportunity for him, and the Turboratu gladly accepted the invitation.
As you lie in your bed, dressed in white and surrounded by lilacs, Count Galak's shadow loomed from the curtains into your bedroom.
It reached to grasp its claws onto your bosom, your beating heart, your tender throat, your code.
His power and the indescribable, horrible pleasure it came with overwhelmed you in ways your husband, your darling Fix-It-Felix, could never.
Soon, you were staring into the eyes of your dark specter. You were his affliction. You were his destiny as he was yours.
Count Galak appeared before you in his truest form - a terrifying abomination between himself and the physical attributes of a Cybug.
And in this form did he prey upon you, as gently as he could, and began to drink from your bare neck.
The monster's teeth sunk into your flesh as his talons softly caressed your figure and hair.
For so long, you had to repress your melancholy for the betterment of everyone around you.
You knew deep down it caused a constant sense of burden, even to those you loved so dearly.
But not to him. Not to the Turboratu.
He savored every moment, every pain, every swallow of lifeblood, every lick of his lips was ecstasy.
He had been craving you for a long time.
Soon, your mind began to drown into a numbing sensation as your weakened eyes began to see the glint of dawn's light.
You sigh your last breath.
This was the moment that you, his corpse bride, and he, your dark specter, would die as lovers in your wedding bed.
And the Arcade is finally saved.

Vanellope for the ask game
First impression: neat character :D
Impression now: literally my favourite character from the movie :3 probably the most interesting to me too
Favorite moment: I think it'd be the one where King Candy/Turbo confronts her in the mountain tunnel and when she escapes. also the "you shall all be... executed 🩷" thing
Idea for a story: honestly the only one I had was about her accidentally glitching out of bounds in sugar rush and discovering something mildly weird but definitely concerning out of bounds here
Unpopular opinion: I don't hate the idea of her visiting Slaughter Race! it could be done without her completely leaving her home game, for example have her visit the place during closing hours of her arcade instead
Favorite relationship: from canon ones her friendship with Ralph, it's super sweet (ba dum tss), but I've been also thinking that her theoretical friendship with Sour Bill, her being president and all, would be fun to see
Favorite headcanon: that she eventually starts learning more about glitches, both in her game and others - she doesn't know much coding terms, but could still tell you basically how to make a duplicate item box in sugar rush by driving into it sideways

Friend Vanellope von Schweetz Headcanons (Wreck-It Ralph)
Tumblr media
She knows all the rules of the game and she’ll tell you all… well, most of them. She avoids telling you that double stripes break because watching to fall is funny.
She lives in the castle now, and the two of you run wild exploring everything.
She still visits her old home in the Cola Mountain, and tells you all about her time there.
Her diet consists purely of sweets, and she is a very bad influence on you. Ralph tries to get you both to eat better, but he’s had limited success.
The other racers think you’re super cool and they all love hanging out with you.
Vanellope’s glitching is mostly under control now, and she loves to use it to play pranks. You’re playing tag and about to catch her? She’s suddenly two feet away!
Her absolute favorite thing to do is race, whether in her car or on her feet. It’s rare that you beat her, but she makes sure you’re having fun anyway.
She sets up a secondary seat in her car and takes you driving. Remember to wear your seatbelt!
She doesn’t like wearing fancy clothes, but if you’re really in the mood to play dress-up, she’ll go with it.
She frequently makes you little presents. She’s very crafty, and she loves watching your eyes light up when you see what she’s made.

10 facts of Vanellope!
🌟 Drop one of my characters’ names in my inbox and I’ll tell you 10 facts about them 🌟 / @allnostalgic
Tumblr media
Vanellope wasn't just in the candycane forest by chance when she first met Ralph; it's been a favourite hangout of hers in Sugar Rush for a long time. Even before she discovered the secret opening in Diet Cola Mountain, it was a place where she'd come to avoid the other kids - since no-one really went there unless it was to harvest the candy cane branches for Christmas time - and even after she had her hideout, well, Vanellope was never been the kind of girl to just sit around in one place. In the forest there she could run and climb to her heart's content without worrying about anyone finding her there - and even if her tormentors did, well, Taffyta and the other kids couldn't climb like she could - so it gave her at least a bit of a sense of freedom. In fact even after the movie, when she's the beloved president and has the whole castle to herself, she still likes to come back there from time to time just because she's grown attached to the place.
Vanellope's glitching can sometimes cause her physical pain, but only sometimes. More commonly she hardly notices it at all, she's lived with it for as long as she can remember and if it feels a little strange when her whole code ripples like that? It's not only basically normal for her, it also doesn't hurt: it feels more like just a little shiver of not being quite there for a moment. However, of course, her glitching is also affected by her emotions: and when those emotions, especially negative ones, make it get really badly out of control, that's when it physically hurts her. Just what she needs when she's already upset, huh?
Ralph's medal isn't the only gift that Vanellope's made out of candy or baked goods. She's pretty deft at making things with her hands in general, and in a world with no shortage of edible materials at her disposal and not a lot else to do, she's had plenty of time to practice. She never really had anyone to give stuff to before, of course; but even post-movie, if she's giving a gift to anyone, expect it to be something - whether decorative or practical - handmade from candy and stuff. Why ever buy gifts from a store when this way is much more personal?
Vanellope does have an outfit more befitting her role as president - and not her princess dress that she can't stand, but a suit jacket that at least passes for semi-formal - but she rarely wears it except on really important occasions. For one thing, she's just more comfortable in her normal hoodie; but she also liked to kinda mess with visitors to the game, see how long it takes them to catch on that this scruffy little kid talking to them is actually someone important. The reactions when people do realise it are often priceless, and Vanellope gets far too much fun out of them.
Vanellope was no longer the president of Sugar Rush by the time the sequel rolled around. That role was never mentioned in WiR2, and this is my explanation as to why; like in the real world, a presidential term in Sugar Rush is four years, and the sequel is set six years later. Vanellope, confident that she had been doing a great job as ruler and that she had the election in the bag, didn't put as much effort into campaigning as she might have done; and as such the presidency was kind of swiped out from under her. (I'm not yet sure who she lost it to, but it wasn't any of the other racers; rather, one of the candy inhabitants of the game.) She was a generally well-loved president and got a respectable number of votes still, but there were enough voices who rathered a change; and the loss sent her into a bit of a slump for a while.
By the sequel two years later she was, of course, back to her lively self... but even so, no longer having the responsibilities of ruling the kingdom to attend to had left Vanellope at a bit of a loss. She'd got so used to being involved in everything that went on in Sugar Rush and working to make sure that her constituents were happy, that suddenly finding that much of it was no longer her business was difficult for her to adjust to. This is the point at which she put a lot of her focus into exploring all the shortcuts and bonus levels and whatever else the game had to offer... and why she's feeling kind of like she's already done everything by the sequel.
Post-sequel, while it's true that Vanellope has been added to Slaughter Race's code by Shank, she nonetheless has developed the habit of making herself scarce whenever the game undergoes routine maintenance. While part of this is just because it's a good excuse to get out and go other places while she won't be missed, another part is that she is aware that things could go badly for her if one of the programmers sees this character that they didn't make running around their game. Better not to make anyone suspicious who could make life difficult for her.
As a result of not having a dedicated role in Slaughter Race due to being a newcomer, Vanellope kind of tends to insert herself wherever she can fit. She and Shank are working together to develop her own bonus sidequest to the Shank's Car mission series, where gamers can actually encounter her on her own terms; but for now, while she often tags along with Shank's crew, she can also slip herself into any of the (many) other races across the Slaughter Race map that need an extra driver - she's kind of the emergency substitute racer for if any of the other NPC drivers need a break. She actually likes this more: it keeps things varied and fresh when she could be playing in literally any race or mission at a moment's notice.
Like many large online games, Slaughter Race has multiple servers to help with player spread a bit: this means that a fairly limited percentage of the player base actually stands any chance of encountering Vanellope since, as a single sprite, she's only resident in one specific server - unlike, say, Shank, a different version of whom exists on each Slaughter Race server. Given that this means that a large number of players stand no chance of encountering her at all, the online community generally dismisses reports of sightings of her as a prank or a hoax after people have gone looking for her in their own servers and found nothing. Vanellope rather enjoys this reputation, and kind of likes trolling the players in her server by letting them get glimpses and take screencaps of her, and then watching on the forums as they try and persuade players from other servers that they're not making it up.
Since being out in the internet, Vanellope has also started hosting her own talk show on the side. (This headcanon inspired by the WiR event in Disney Magic Kingdoms where she does have that thing.) Unlike in that game, however, this isn't limited just to the Disney royalty: she will get on there anyone and everyone who she, personally, finds interesting to feature as guests. So far its broadcast audience is limited to the fellow inhabitants of Slaughter Race, but she's looking to see if there's some way she can share it with her old friends from the arcade too.

Head+canon=You know the answer already.
Vanellope’s hair candies can regrow if taken out however strands of hair will be missing which means if you keep taking out the same candy in the same spot, it could cause her to have a bald spot. No one wants that, also you can’t eat the candy from her hair. It’s literally just hair, it’s like a razor blade in a candy bar. It’s not meant to be eaten.

Cool little idea I had based on... *checks notes* literally nothing where before turbo came and fucked everything up vanellope and taffyta were programed to be rivals but were actually bffs, I just think it'd be cute and also make all of their interactions in the movie hurt just a liiiiittle bit more 🥰
