Whenever Lou (as Fabian...or as Pinnochio) gets both positively or negatively excited he grabs at his friends (especially Ally lol) so I like to think Fabian does that too.
Whatever it is he's gonna grab someone's shoulder and shake or jump or something, especially with Kristen. I think he and Kristen actively start shoving each other. He uses the same amount of force on Gorgug but it barely moves him, so with them it's more Fabian hanging onto him and Gorgug shifting his weight around to entertain him. Fig isn't as strong as the other two but she's three times as enthusiastic so she and Fabian for sure grab each other and jump around. She happily body checks him. It never ends well for her and she keeps doing it.
Riz is too small (and weak. -2 strength is no joke he's NOT wrestle-able) so I think he picks him up and excitedly shakes or squeezes. Riz canonically does not mind being picked up by his friends so I think he fully just doesn't acknowledge it. It gets to the point where Riz just continues giving a serious report with a straight face while his pathetic bestie is holding him in his arms and squeezing him like a very big stress ball. He's also a little less rowdy with Adaine purely because his battlemaster brain goes "shit wizard don't shove the wizard" but he does pick her up and spin her around for sure (like their players in the quangle I just remembered :D)

Nothing I could get my rocks off to
Anyway kind of ironic that it’s called downtime when it’s always the most stressful part of the season

Schools been kicking my hyperbolic ass so here are some Bad Kids & Co (and some seven maidens) headcanons that have no context
Fabians really into boybands
Riz has some chronic pain that he fully thinks is just a part of having a body, adding this to reasons why Riz likes being carried by his friends
Mary Ann just likes being picked up so there are times when Gorgug is carrying Riz and Mary ann under his arms like bags of potatoes
The bad kids share clothes and Gorgug is the only person not that excited about it cause a lot of his clothes are tailored for his height
Fabian is fully convinced hes a straight guy (he isnt)
Riz and Kristen are the only bad kids that dont have a complicated skincare routine
Ayda binds
The bad kids have designated spots in eachothers homes
Fabians alarm clock has been replaced with his new baby sibling screaming at the top of their lungs. He is convinced they are doing this on purpose
Both Aelwyn and Mazey are taller than Fabian. This is a Gilear trait
Gorgug stole his skincare routine from Zelda
Sam fucks with the weather whenever someone she hates goes on a walk
Fig spent a solid weekend speedrunning Quokki Pets to get to lime level so she could talk to Mary Ann more
A lot of the Kristen simulacrums post K2 are research material for a paper Adaines writing about simulacrum autonomy
Kristen hoards trash in her pockets when there isnt a trash can nearby and then forgets its there when she finds one
New art when i have some

that finale made me so emotional. i cried at all of their scenes in Ankarna's realm. anyway, here's some bad kids senior year head canons.
Kristen: Her wish for a sister is filled by Bucky, crying in her room late at night and praying together. After talking to Jawbone they learn that there are grounds to remove Bricker and Cork from their parents' home. Kristen is the only one given the option of emancipation--instead, she asks Jawbone to adopt her as well.
She falls back onto old patterns with Tracker. But they're a little older and wiser, so they see it happening and take a step back. Not a break up, but a readjustment. With her academics finally not reliant on deadlines, Kristen dedicates herself to her pantheon. They work with Lucy to bring Ruvina back to her sister, and Kristen finds herself in awe of the dedication she sees.
Fig: She puts all her time into the Bottomless Pit, something it desperately needs. Often she tells Sandra-Lynn she's sleeping at Gilear's, and vice versa, and stays with Ayda instead. On her 18th birthday her parents sit her down and explain that she can live with Ayda officially, if she wants to. Just as long as she remembers she'll always have a room with both of them.
She brings Sandra-Lynn on Complicated Women, first to interview, and then as a permanent guest host. They talk about womanhood as something living and changing and queer and complicated. It's her mom who encourages her when Lola Embers drops Ruben. They rally all the rock-hating souls and cordon off part of the recording studio. Fig never goes in there, but from what she's heard, his music has gotten better in the absence of Kipperlilly's judgement.
Fabian: Somehow, he ends up being the one to train the new dog. The Hangman is jealous to a ridiculous degree, so he spends a lot of time managing that. He starts looking into a sea-worthy vessel for after graduation, spends hours at the Compass Points Library learning how to navigate. Learning sea shanties is part of all that, of course, and has nothing to do with the way his baby sibling stares at him while he practices.
Mazey teaches dance to kids while he finishes school. She's so kind it almost hurts, and Fabian has no choice but to learn to accept love. He "lets" Gorgug skip Bloodrush under the condition of weekly movie nights, which only sometimes are expanded to the rest of the Bad Kids. The radio in his room crackle to life sometimes, with little messages from Bill when he's close enough to the material plane.
Riz: Appointed as vice president, he quits all but the AV club. He makes a bedtime pact with Sklonda, and for the first time in a very long time, they are both getting enough sleep. Someone mentions ace and aro identities to him, and he's awake enough for it click.
He finds a new scholarship for Aguefort students, and it looks scam-y so he does some investigating. It easily traces right back to Seacaster gold and Fabian. He's thankful for the cover and accepts the money with an understanding that they won't talk about it. He doesn't check, but the scholarship is offered every year after that.
Adaine: She spends the summer with Aelwyn tracking down their mom. She doesn't need revenge, but she needs to know her mom will never hurt anyone ever again. She feels Ankarna in the hot sun and wonders if that's the difference between revenge and justice. They take the long way back to Solace, the Hand-van paddling across the ocean.
When school starts, she works with Kristen to turn her inheritance into resources. Student who can pay for some of their components still do, but everyone gets what they need to learn. On the first day of class, she's asked about her summer prophecies, and tells off Tiberia for relying on her for lessons.
Gorgug: His senior year MCAT is signed on the first day by Lydia, who's teaching barbarian classes for the year. She gives him permission for independent study, and Henry gives him a shop key so he can do classwork whenever he wants. The rest of his time is spent perfecting Barbificer skills and creating a program to run at Aguefort the next year.
Mary Ann offers her quokky pet skills to help remodel his homonculous. The result is much cuter and more functional than before. She still names her highest level pet Cloaca in honor of the original, much to Gorgug's chagrin.
After graduation, the Bad Kids move in trios and pairs, and they always reconvene on the Summer Solstice, the anniversary of Ankarna's resurrection.
Kristen splits her time between Solace and Fallinel and Mountains of Chaos, the places where temples to her pantheon stand. Adaine and Riz rent an apartment in Bastion City, where they both continue school. Gorgug stays in Elmville, teaching at Aguefort and working on the side to start his own school. Fabian takes to the sea, bringing Fig and Ayda and Mazey with him.
They save the world again, a few times, but only when they want to.

HEADCANONS ABOUT THE BAD KIDS
Kristen has Asthma. No doctors can figure out where it came from, because it's not genetic, but she remembers a dark forest, a temple, and a horn spearing through her lungs, and she just knows. She asks Cassandra to fix it, and Cassandra tells her that it cannot be done. She keeps an inhaler on her at all times, and when she breathes too deeply, she can still feel the horn piercing her.
Fig, through a combination of tiefling blood and her own decisions, sounds like somebody who's been smoking all their life. When she was younger, it just sounded like a raspy throat, but now that she's older, it's that sultry, sort-of attractive rasp. Ayda says that she sounds sick, and it takes a few minutes of explaining before Ayda understands. Fig always teases Ayda with her most sultry, raspy voice, and laughs when Ayda's hair poofs upwards.
Adaine tried pancakes for the first time when Kristen made them and now they're her favourite breakfast food. Her favourite toppings are whipped cream, fruit, and syrup. She doesn't say that every time she eats them, they trigger sensations of eating at a cold table with cruel people. She doesn't say that she sees a time where she will eat pancakes alone, and cry with the wish to eat them with Kristen again. She does not say a great many things.
Gorgug, through no fault of his parents, in almost unhealthily skinny. It's incredibly hard to find books on Orcish physiology, and Thelma and Digby tried their best to keep up, but it wasn't meeting the required amount of calories. Now that they know (Gorgug's bio dad gave them a book), they feed him much more, but he's always hungry. He feels bad for it, and sometimes even flat out refuses the food, feeling like it's a waste.
Fabian has dissociative episodes where he falls back into the fear that nobody remembers him. He sometimes can't even remember himself. He pretends to be fine, and then you're calling his name loud enough for the Hangvan to hear it outside and he doesn't respond. He sometimes slips into old habits of not being able to move from his bed, and when he does, all the Bad Kids visit him until he can get out. They never rush him, and sometimes it turns into a slumber party.
Riz has night terrors. When he does sleep, which is rare in and of itself, he wakes up. When it's a good night, without screaming. He'll wake up in a cold sweat, unable to move for minutes or hours, but he won't scream. When it's a bad night, he will wake up screaming loud enough to reach the lowest floor of Strongtower luxury apartments, and he won't know where he is. He has hurt his mom, and his friends, and when he comes out of the haze of pure fear with sobbing noises that sound like his heart is being ripped from his chest.
Anyways, what are y'alls headcanons?

Wondering if Fabian is vaccinated bc he was born and raised at sea and I don't see Bill giving a fuck about vaccines.
Thinking of maybe writing another Fabian sick fic about him catching something because apparently I love making him miserable

Riz is aroace as we all know (do not fight me on this) but my headcanon that's sort of already implied is that once he figures it out he doesn't really tell any of his friends. He invents Baron to get away from it, and even in early high school he had ideas that he didn't feel the same way other people did. Once he discovers there's a word for it he just keeps it to himself. It's scary enough to come out, and especially with all his friends teasing him about how surely he has a crush on someone, that's a very suppressive feeling. Other thought is he had the words when he told his dad and really badly wanted to actually tell him but just couldn't, afraid if he put the words to it it would become too real for him to handle. He doesn't tell his friends, he doesn't tell his parents, he doesn't tell Jawbone, because he doesn't even want it for himself.

hiding in the bathroom at my job and watching fhjy finale pt2 and thinking about what hobbies the bad kids do so. here you are
adaine: programming!!!! she also writes poetry sometimes. and she likes to research her hyperfixations and write essays on them (nerd /aff). also meditation, which she started when her anxiety was really bad and continues still even though she’s doing better in that front
riz: cooking, during the times he is not hyperfixated on his investigations (said times are few and far between, but sklonda and his friends are fighting the never ending battle of helping him not always be burnt out lol. which means they eat Lots of nice homemade meals)
kristen: she is the artist of the bad kids. her favored mediums are watercolor and sculpture. she has painted all the bad kids many times and her art is hung up everywhere in mordred and her friends houses
gorgug: besides drumming, he is always taking things apart and building new contraptions. he and adaine like to work on computers together. he also doodles a lot
fig: tbh her biggest hobby is writing/practicing her songs, but she also likes customizing her clothes and making patches and accessories. all the other bad kids have customized clothes from her. also skateboarding!! she does a bunch of cool (dangerous) tricks
fabian: i mean canonically he does a fuckton of expensive rich kid hobbies like calligraphy and glassblowing lol, and dance and fencing ofc. i think he also likes to try out his friends hobbies, so he’s adequate at a bunch of those things. except programming he can’t do that 🫶🫶

Little insight on me: I was just talking over the phone with my crush for about 2 and a half hours
This idea brings me to Weasley sexualities.
Why? Because I can..
Molly: Thought she was bi in her Hogwarts years, fooled around with Andromeda, was straight eventually
Arthur: THIS MAN RADIATES GAY obvi he’s straight (totally dated Mollys brothers at one point)
Bill: You know the song “bi wife energy?” Yeah, well, that’s his theme song.
(They don’t call them the Bi-Wizard champions for nothing)
Charlie: Aroace dragon dad, need I say anything more?
Percy: GAY GAY GAY (for Oliver)
Fred: freaky little bi-romantic man
George: He’s PAN (“of course I procreate with pans! Don’t you love the way they-“)
Ron: Straight, (but totally like the heterosexual supporting cast of a gay drama type of straights)
Ginny: Bisexual mess, need I say more?
Extra bonus: Harry Potter (because let’s be honest, the day he entered the burrow was the day he became a Weasley)
Harry Potter: the sassiest bisexual man the wizardingworld has seen

Is Ignatius Prewett Molly's father or uncle?
Now, this seems to have an obvious answer, since Sirius says this:
“The pure-blood families are all interrelated,” said Sirius. “If you’re only going to let your sons and daughters marry purebloods your choice is very limited, there are hardly any of us left. Molly and I are cousins by marriage and Arthur’s something like my second cousin once removed. But there’s no point looking for them on here — if ever a family was a bunch of blood traitors it’s the Weasleys.”
(OotP)
And in the family tree, we indeed see Ignatius Prewett married Lucretia Black (Sirius' aunt):
Tumblr media
Them being "cousins by marriage" means Ignatius is Molly's uncle and the brother of Molly's father. Great, case closed.
Except "Ignatius" is Percy’s middle name:
“Interrogators: Cornelius Oswald Fudge, Minister of Magic; Amelia Susan Bones, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement; Dolores Jane Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister. Court Scribe, Percy Ignatius Weasley — ”
(OotP)
(I love that the contradictory information appears in the same book... *grinding my teeth*)
If we look at naming patterns in the wizarding world, you'd first name a child after their parents, then grandparents, then aunts and uncles (the parents' siblings), and only then other relatives (such as a child's great uncle/aunt).
We know Bill is William Arthur Weasley, sharing a name with his father.
We don't know Charlie's middle name, but I always headcanoned it to be "Septimus" after Arthur’s father.
I headcanon Fred and George's middle names are Gideon and Fabian (Molly's dead brothers), as it makes sense with the naming conventions, and I think it's cute.
We know Ron is named after Arthur’s brother "Billius", which means that they didn't run out of brothers and grandparents yet by the time they reached Ron. It means Percy would more likely be named after Molly's father or brother than her uncle.
So, is Ignatius her dad or her uncle?
I kind of assume Ignatius is Molly's father and that JKR messed up with the Black family tree. Again. Or that Sirius remembers incorrectly if we're going for a Watsonian explanation.
I mean, it's very possible Sirius didn't bother to memorize his family tree and from the "something like" he uses when describing Arthur's relation to him, it seems he isn't 100% certain of all the familial connections. So he says "cousins by marriage" even though they're just cousins.
The other possibility and my new headcanon now, is that Ignatius is Molly's father. He had Molly with an unknown first wife and married Lucretia later. If Lucretia is his second wife and Molly had a different mother it would explain how Ignatius is her father but she's Sirius' cousin by marriage.
Now we don't know if Gideon and Fabian were older or younger than Molly. I always assumed they were older due to what is said about them by Moody:
Gideon Prewett, it took five Death Eaters to kill him and his brother Fabian, they fought like heroes ...
(OotP)
But it's possible they are her younger brothers born of Ignatius and Lucretia after they married. (They could still be in their mid-20s or even late-20s when they die in 1979 as Molly was born in late 1949 or in 1950)
So, this is my new headcanon for Molly's family.
Ignatius and some other witch had Molly, Molly's unknown mother died and Ignatius married Lucretia and had Fabian and Gideon with her, making them Molly's half brothers, if we're being technical. This makes everything about the family tree make sense.
(I really need to draw a full Black family tree with all my headcanons one of these days... I just feel like there's still stuff I haven't unpacked here)

Gorgug joins the Bad Kids' nerd sub-club during junior year he really does. You saw that insane three years of artificer class because fuck you thing. Afternoons he would have previously spent with the Owlbears are now spent sprawled out on Adaine's rug doing math of all things. Bad Kids intelligence casters on top!! lol. I do find it funny that there's so few intelligence based spell casters but with Riz being an arcane trickster now it's 1/2 of the Bad Kids. Smart Kids. All they need now is an eldritch knight.
Speaking of Riz being an arcane trickster, I do think part of the reason he SO leans into the stuff his father gets him is Penny. But also, I think the adjustment period happens during their whole Night Yorb adventure so Adaine gives him a lot of magic pointers. I know that he in universe doesn't cast spells himself and instead uses gadgets but it's probably still helpful to have the wizard tell you how to handle magic. She also helps Gorgug with magic,,,all hail Adaine. Also Riz and Gorgug both have haste so they experiment with it on each other, I think.
Speaking of full casters helping their newly multi classed friends with spells. Fig and Fabian. As a fellow charisma caster and even more importantly fellow bard Fig does try to help Fabian with magic but while Adaine's help is step by step instructions and advice on how to handle magic whiplash Fig's is all "you have to feel the vibe" and "really put your feelings into it" and miraculously Fabian fully understands what the fuck she's talking about and thinks it helped and everyone else is like wow yeah I guess he's a bard now. Useless headcanon that is so precious to me is that Fabian learned pyrotechnics via Fig's general affinity for fire. I had more to say about this but I completely forgot.

Hinny 💍 - The One With No Voldy and Where Everyone Lives
AU, where Harry happens to hear a conversation between his grandfather, Fleamont Potter, and his father, James. Fleamont, who has been looking weaker by the day, tells his son he knows his and Euphemia's time is coming to an end, and his only regret is not being able to witness Harry grow up and get married. This bothers Harry, and while on a playdate at the Burrow, he confides in Ginny, who responds as if it were the most obvious solution: "Then let's get married."
They persuade their families to arrange a gathering, and they con the Weasley brothers into decorating the backyard. Ron stands by Harry's side as his best man, while Luna is Ginny's bridesmaid. All it took was one look from Harry and Ginny to convince Sirius to turn into Padfoot to be their ring bearer/flower girl; his outfit consisted of a bowtie and a tutu (James, Remus, Gideon, and Fabian nearly fell off their chairs laughing so hard).
They made each other's wedding rings. Harry's ring was made from the metal from his grandma's old Auror badge (which Euphemia gave to her willingly) and the very first snitch he caught for the first time and gifted to her. Ginny convinced Fabian and Gideon to transform into a ring. Ginny's ring was made of her favorite green bubble gum (that was suspiciously similar to Harry's eye color) and twigs of their broomsticks as the band, which Harry convinced his dad and Sirius to smooth out and place an unbreakable charm on with an auto-replenishing charm on the bubble gum.
They both dressed themselves for the occasion, and Harry asked his mom and godmother Marlene to help him pick flowers for Ginny's bouquet. He smelled each one and was very picky persistent it had to smell like Ginny's hair. It took Harry HOURS until he was finally satisfied with the arrangement. Molly volunteered to make their wedding cake, and a few days before the wedding, Ginny told her dad in a very grown-up tone to wear a bowtie because he was walking her down the aisle on Sunday. Hinny asked Hagrid to marry them, and when it was time to kiss the bride, Harry was just about to protest/lecture Hagrid about how he should have asked Ginny for her consent instead of giving him permission "to kiss the bride" (the boy was Lily Potter's son and a true feminist at heart), when Ginny pulled Harry down and gave Harry a big kiss on the lips. The kid was frozen for a solid minute and then couldn't stop smiling as he followed his 'wife' around all day.
They made Fleamont and Euphemia's wishes come true.
Then, 16 years later, they got married again.

Love the idea of still ears being a signal for tired/laziness. feel like that makes up a bunch of “lights are on but no one’s home” type of sayings - yea he’s a nice guy but those ears don’t twitch, you get me? I was so tired last night you’d have through someone petrified my ears! Etc etc
Adaine muttering, "My ears are stones I'm so tired" after a long night of adventuring and everyone just. stares at her. except fig, who knows what it means, and fabian, who touches his own ears, which don't move involuntarily and which he has to focus hard to make move. (not that hes self-conscious about that. no. definitely not. he grips his battle sheet tighter.)
elves and goblins have a lot of sayings about ears. "Stiff-ear" is basically the equivalent of "couch potato" for elves, but it means someone rude or insensitive to goblins. this causes some interesting communication blunders for adaine, fig, and riz

I think one of my favourite things to think about is the bad kids are all different races and can speak different languages, and how that affects them/the people around them, and maybe I just like thinking about them switching to a different language or not being able to fully speak one language when tired etc
Idk how it is for people who have grown up in one place but spoken a different language at home, at least not fully, but I do know what it’s like learning a different language at a young age and then befriending and talking to people who speak it as their native language.
Long post
Riz and Adaine are the most interesting to me, because I think Goblin is such a complex and different language compared to most others, it includes a lot of hissing, grunts, growls, ear movement and facial expressions and I think that it was the only language Riz knew until he started school, and he quickly picked up on common because Pok and Sklonda started speaking it with him too, I think it’s easier for goblin children to let out garbled noises than form full sentences and I don’t know if this makes sense but just hear me out.
Then obviously, Riz speaks more common than anything else, but during spring break Sophomore Year he hisses instead of telling someone to fuck off and it was much easier, basically meant the same thing to it’s just that no one understood, and then in Junior Year whenever he’s annoyed, stressed, etc etc he just hisses and growls and glares and I think the others tried to learn but it’s a complex language!! It’s very difficult to learn the difference between one hiss and another one.
ADAINE!! She has an accent (british) and had a hard time learning Common, not because it was hard to learn but because her family wouldn’t let her? She had tutors from Fallinel growing up and then around 8-9 she started learning common but didn’t get any real practice until around 11, the accent is noticeable when she talks but it’s not something anyone points out. She also loses her words a lot? Confuses how to word sentences exactly because it’s different in Elvish, mixes up different sayings, forgets words entirely too (me core). Sometime during Freshman Year she starts speaking exclusively Common with her family and now she only really speaks Elvish during combat and Aelwyn/sometimes Fig.
Fabian can’t speak Elvish, but he can understand it. Hallariel was most of time too drunk to properly teach him, but I imagine Cathilda tried and Bill would sometimes mention something to Hallariel in Elvish, it’s very like,, “Yeah I can understand all of it, but I can’t speak it fluently” and I think he wants to try after getting more connected to his mother’s side of the family.
Fig spoke Elvish growing up, but she started going to Daycare pretty early and speaks Common just as fluently as anyone else, but she slips into it whenever talking to her mom or Gilear. At least before the horns grew in, after that she stopped speaking Elvish as a form of rebellion, but she picked it back up in Sophomore year. I think she’s the least likely to confuse words and she often helps Adaine with words in Common whenever she loses them.
Gorgug cannot speak orcish, he can barely understand it. But he can speak Gnomish and it has surprised people more times than he can count. Again, he can’t fully speak Gnomish, mostly bc Digby and Wilma spoke Common with him growing up, but I think he can read it because a lot of their instructions and books are in Gnomish so he just learned how to recognise letters and words and string them together into sentences. Digby and Wilma stopped speaking Gnomish bc they cut the rest of their family off to protect Gorgug btw
Kristen can only speak Common and before going to Aguefort she was upset about it because she couldn’t preach to the people who could not understand, now she’s upset because she can’t properly gossip with her friends.
