Reading Linked Universe fanfics, and I see Legend and Wind as the main swearers in the group- Legend because he's gone through so many adventures, he earned the right to curse, and Wind because fanon appointed him as a pirate.

And sure- pirates swear, and so do sailors. Their jobs are hard. They've only the company of each other and the sea for months. But you know who else swears with a mouth like they've never seen soap in their lives?

People in the military.

So I suggest to you this:

Legend, who is actually a very kind person, he's just tired and hurt and hasn't been to therapy yet, swearing rarely because he's around people now and has mellowed slightly with coaching from Ravio; Wind, who is a grandma's boy and is very polite yet sassy despite traveling with pirates and having sailed for a long time, and no matter how much Linebeck acted like a drunk or a shady old man not even he would swear around a kid whose eyes are larger than life and who exudes innocence from that creepy stare;

and Warriors, who swears like the soldier he is, because outside of parade rest or formal events military men have some of the foulest mouths you can imagine. And traveling with a bunch of other heroes, he's not in a formal event here. He's among fellow soldiers. Which means he's free to be crass and make jokes up until he realizes that Wind is fourteen and maybe he shouldn't say that joke about skirts.

Time sips his tea, Hyrule goes to ask about what that slang meant, and Sky dive tackles Warriors for inadvertently teaching the others some very obtuse language.

Thoughts on Clone Names

One of the shinies in the 212th is named Melee, because of how often Cody has seen him fighting droids with his bare hands. Obi-Wan had to Force-pull him out of a fight more times than he can count.

I also think that the highest honor in some battalions would be for their Jedi to give a clone his name. Like, Mace Windu forgets that one clone doesn't have a name and calls him "Snaps" or something in the middle of a battle, and then feels terrible about getting his troopers mixed up -- but that little shiny brags that Mace Windu named him for the rest of his life.

I'm just on a roll today with thoughts about sand siblings, and consider ! younger shikadai, maybe about six just sitting with his mom as she does his hair.

and temari is telling shikadai stories about her youth in suna, lots of talk about how kankuro would always steal her toys and make them into makeshift puppets.

shikadai just listening eagerly and then he's like. "what about gaara?"

"what about him?"

"what was he like?"

and temari just freezing up in thought because, she doesn't have a lot of stories about gaara as a kid. her and kankuro were always isolated away from him, and at a certain age temari began to fear him as well. and she's just combing through shikadai's hair before putting it up.

"your uncle gaara well.. we didn't know each other as kids that well."

"why?"

"long story that I'll tell you when your older. but there is one thing I do remember. once it was just us three outside playing in the sand, and whatever thing kankuro and I could think of, gaara would make with the sand."

temari leaving out the details of how once her father had found them playing together he was furious, that for days temari and kankuro hadn't even been allowed to be around each other as punishment.

I know some folks think it’s odd that Rook never met Lucanis or Illario before Veilguard.

For my Rook, I imagine Viago purposely keeps them apart. Because for a long time, Rook was a little too much like Illario. There would have been chaos. And far too much “work” without contracts.

Rook meeting Illario as an adult…it’s more like game recognizing game. She would absolutely flirt back and push boundaries but it’s only to see how he ticks and what it would take to push him over the edge.

Rook isn’t attracted to him because Illario reminds her too much of herself. Or a version of herself she is trying to outgrow.

And I feel like, over time, he starts to recognize it, too. Not at first. But when he starts to see genuine emotion toward Lucanis, he understands he’s being played.

It ends up being very Spy vs Spy in my headcanon.

OK SO FIRST OF ALL. I wouldn't even blame MC for cussing him out because they only got a glimpse of him for a couple times for clarity and he was still vague.

And well, I think the nobles and Kings would feel different based on their relationship with Solomon vs. MC in the first place. I think there's a couple Kings that didn't have a close relationship with Solomon like that so their feelings with MC wouldn't change. That being Mammon, Leviathan (iirc), Lucifer is a nope most likely, and I'm pretty sure Belphie met Solomon because he taught him how to roll dice but at the same time....the timeline seems a bit off with that? Idk. Satan would feel conflicted, Asmodeus too because I mean Solomon WAS his first love. Beelzebub is neutral, but he'd probably prefer MC over Solomon due to his focus shifting.

Nobles wise I think the one who would most have an eternal conflict is Sitri because he's been calling MC by Solomon's name this entire time. He would implode at this point.

I'm not even sure of what the other nobles would think. It would be a mix of confusion and reassuring MC they wouldn't be pushed aside.

As for any uh threesomes? I think Asmodeus is the only one to match that energy and personally that ain't for me. Lol. I'll leave it at that.

I am completely projecting based on my own childhood experiences but in my head jamie tries not to stim in front of other people -because it pissed his dad off- but when he's tired or stressed or just relaxed and not paying attention he starts stimming sometimes around the other guys without realising it

Yes, Jamie absolutely got constantly told off and berated for 'fidgeting'. "Stand up like a man" was a common reprimand, coupled with a shake or slap to the back of the head.

While he couldn't make himself stop, he certainly adapted. I touched on it in my ADHD diagnosis fic but I think Jamie started wearing jewellery and tucking his hands out of sight so he could be more subtle in his habits.

He also probably gravitated to things like knuckle cracking and nail biting when he was younger.

I think he absolutely does things like snap his fingers and bounce his knee when he's comfortable without realising it. He'll full on chew on his necklaces around the team, where he'd just spin one of his rings with anyone else.

It's an early warning system that he's stressed out and needs handling with care whenever he's spotted in the locker room with non-food items in his mouth. Many a pen has paid tribute.

Rook and Viagos relationship is one of the reasons I have a hard time choosing a different faction. Viago puts on this very tough front because of how important Rook is to him. And I love that. I love those little moments where the edges soften.

Viago and Teia are two of, if not my top, favorite NPCs in Veilguard.

The headcanon for my Rook is they are the oldest of 13 children. She started working in a brothel at the age of 9. Everything has always gone to her first family. Sure, there is a lot of unresolved anger because her mother is responsible for her working in the brothel. But Rook still uses their payment from contracts to keep the family afloat. She may not have much contact with them (for their safety) but ultimately, her choices are rooted in making sure no one else in the family has to make the same sacrifices.

The Crows were a different line of work that paid better. Viago kept observing what appeared to be a child entering and exiting a targets manor like clockwork. Viago and Rook met on the job.

Rook was actually 15 and had been keeping themselves small (and younger looking) to keep their price high. It’s why she has a vallaslin. Evie isn’t Dalish but the brothel owner convinced her a vallaslin would make her seem “exotic”, driving up the cost of her services. They feel immense guilt and shame over the nature of their vallaslin and will only ever refer to it as having been a job requirement.

She is entirely self-reliant and can be impulsive to the point of violence.

Getting kicked out of Antiva crushed her but it was the wake-up call Evelyn needed. Their decisions in the game are based around their need to rely on others and think before reacting.

My Rook always sees Viago as an older brother. Until Varric, he was really the only positive male role model in their life. It’s what makes working with Solas so challenging. And why the acts of betrayal cut so deep.

Evelyn doesn’t trust people. She doesn’t make lasting connections, despite being a friendly person. She certainly doesn’t trust her mother and if anyone finds out who her father is, she won’t trust him either.

She doesn’t even trust herself.

But she trusts Viago.

And she always will.
