Random Headcanon Compilation:

Very big Gentle Giant vibes going on. Very careful.

Is this way ^ because he’s incredibly strong. He understands his strength can be dangerous if not kept in check, and the last thing he wants is to hurt someone.

That being said, he can fight. Strength comparable, if not higher than, Amy’s. Could swing her hammer like a stick really.

Not one for a lot of outward emotions on his face unless they are rather big emotions. His ears and tail are gonna be his biggest indicator of how he’s feeling. That said, doesn’t mean he won’t change his expression ever, just sometimes has to make a conscious effort.

Quite good friends with Vanilla! Would Give His Life for Cream and Amy but would rather just hang out and watch over their shenanigans. (He is constantly dragged into said shenanigans, but he doesn’t mind)

Special interests: Fishing, Frogs, Baking

Froggy is in fact his emotional support animal and comfort item all at once.

Not a fan of crowded places and loud or cacophonous noise. Makes his tail stand on end and his teeth itch. Prefers calm and quiet. Can handle moderate noise. Can take loud noise if necessary.

Cuddle bug. Extreme cuddle bug. Will just carry you around just to hold someone. Physical touch is his biggest love language.

I was gonna save this for a more general hc post, but the new card trailer has me ferrel.

Now that we have a larger collection of spicy, intimate scenes with Rafayel, I’ve started to notice a bit of a pattern with how they play out.

He lures his MC in, usually using himself as bait—testing their limits, sometimes acting innocent or helpless; generally goading them on, inviting them tease him. And tease him is what they do, taking great joy in doing so because his reactions are so cute. He melts so easily in the hands of his beloved…yet he pounces right when they least expect it. I think he enjoys the feeling of “turning the tables” on his lover, so to speak.

It’s almost cunning the way he seduces the MC, which is probably why they call him a fox in the trailer (I’ll come back to this if I’m wrong).

TL-5956 Survival Headcanons

Involving: Some bending of the rules to make it more likely for these guys to have survived for 12+ years and counting, the likelihood I misread at least one part of how this all works so please don’t kill me, various overthinking shenanigans, me being a lil mean to characters, and my unabashed mental illness

and a sizable amount of text under the read more (not even kidding it’s like 1,500+ words LMAO)

THE PARADOX

Exclusively red monochromacy. This is not a visual filter sort of effect, everything has turned red. This actually isn’t a head canon it’s something Harry told me and it fucks me up. Actually a lot of this specific section is shit from the article itself that I’m emphasizing for fun.

The sky has become pitch black, and the horizon is rimmed by red like a macabre sunset. There is no difference between night and day. The sun will never rise here again.

Site-43 remains the single most stable area in the wake of the K-Class Paradox, and is considered the last bastion of human civilization. The rest of the world is left a nonsensical, contradictory wasteland due to spatial and temporal damages. Any entity you find roaming those reddened wastes are no longer what they once were. Do not engage, for those who wander are lost.

Randomized increases and decreases in the number of perceivable temporal dimensions results in visual distortion of surroundings. Added extrasensory perceptions may increase this disorientation in survivors. It takes a lot of getting used to, that constant bombardment.

Due to condensation of vaporous substances, there has been a sharp global temperature increase. Everything is humid.

Site-43 Condition

The following parts of the Site are lost/heavily damaged: 

Euclid and Keter Class Wings of the Security and Containment Sections [Detonated, First Sublevel is functionally abandoned due to instability]

Applied Occultism [Second Sublevel, damaged by detonation and other breach occurances]

Archives and Revisions Section [Burned]

All underwater site facilities and utilities. [Completely destroyed] 

With each instance of the breach, all areas that were previously destroyed become reverted to their 2002 states, then re-destroyed. This results in these locations being able to be scrapped and harvested for functionally renewable supplies after each amelioration of the breach. These salvaged supplies only vanish with the causal loop’s reset if they are left within their original area. 

Due to the heavy damage done to the First Sublevel of the site, the Second Sublevel is left similarly unstable structurally and partially collapsed. Both Sublevels are abandoned sans annual gathering of supplies. 

The Third Sublevel of the Site remains the most structurally stable and safest part of Site-43, the surviving personnel remain here. 

The Inner-Sectional Subway System is no longer in operation due to sustained damages during the breach, but its tunnels are still utilized for transportation to different areas of the Site by foot. 

Site’s power remains in operation, requires vigorous upkeep.

Food/Water

Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE) rations were the primary food source for several years as research was directed towards the creation of a renewable food supply. They have a metric fuck ton of rations to work with, but it's always smart to look for alternatives Just In Case, y'know?

Due to the fact that everything is red, and there is a notable lack of a sun, growing traditional plants is out of the equation because I don’t think we’re photosynthesizing in these conditions. However, what they can grow and cultivate is things such as mushrooms and algaes! Utilizing waste from the site as fertilizer, gathering soil, and perhaps a bit of GE to make sure they’re not eating anything toxic and getting the right vitamins — they can grow food. It’ll take work, but can be done with enough care. Keeping out mold will be a nightmare but god love 'em they're trying.

A handful of stray storage closets and part of the Hiring and Regulation Section have been converted into spaces for food growing

There is probably a whole bunch of shit they could science their way through when it comes to synthesizing food that isnt just mushroom farming tbh. Like turning petroleum and CO2 into food

Bottled water stores ran out swiftly. Water is primarily gathered through the usage of moisture traps (see: increased humidity). Due to SCP-001-A the harvesting of these traps are risky endeavors, and require a pre-setup of dilution equipment to ensure a lack of reflectivity. This harvested liquid is then abated to reduce risk of anomalous effects, and stored/distributed to personnel. Prior to his death in 2023, Dougall Deering would accompany those harvesting to ensure 001-A’s pacification. 

Any and all site wastewater is subjected to purification processes to acquire as much drinkable water as possible. Nothing goes to waste.  

Lake Huron itself and any groundwater adjacent to the site is unreachable and unusable due to SCP-001-B and SCP-001-C. 

There’s probably a vending machine or two that’s caught up in the 2002 causal loop reset that they can loot each year. They can have some treats, as a treat. 

For all I know this is one of those weird space-time situations where no one actually needs to eat or drink but sshhhhh it's fun to think about

Supplies

After each causal loop, the areas of the Site that are restored and re-destroyed are functionally “refreshed”. Though still heavily damaged and destroyed, these areas can be looted each year for materials -- copper wiring, plating, materials to repair other parts of the site, possible acquisition of rations and water.

Clothing from transmogrified personnel annually slain in the Archives and Revision and Applied Occultism can sometimes be recovered for use in repairing existing clothing, or as medical bandaging. 

Sections and faculties of the Site that go unused in the wake of the Paradox have been stripped; materials moved elsewhere for post-breach repairs and general maintenance of vital site functions.

Excursions outside of the Site are risky and dangerous -- though as successful containments of the breach have occurred, stability around Site-43 has begun to increase and grow safer. Nearby areas are occasionally scouted for any usable materials that remain, or were brought about by spatial/temporal distortions. 

The building of the REISNO Cannon was a nightmare to build in spite of its small size -- due to the amount of brute-forcing they had to do with its construction. When PHMD build the PXE alone, it took far more supplies to build.

Medical Care

To aid individuals wounded by SCP-001-A, able bodied personnel are encouraged to donate blood. 

These guys are working overtime due to the inherent dangers of the Paradox, doing the best they can to ration out their supplies and create what they can to help others.

Some members of personnel need to undergo treatment for sialorrhea, as the excessive production of saliva can put them at risk of both SCP-001-A and dehydration.

Medical personnel worked with the Memetics and Countermemetics Section to create Solution 001-A.

SCP-001-A

All reflective surfaces have either been destroyed, scuffed and scratched so that they are no longer reflective, or treated with Solution 001-A.

Application of Solution 001-A results in a clouding of the eyes and an impairment of vision. In light of added perceptions due to SCP-001, this is considered a blessing in disguise. 

Any personnel who had glasses has either had them destroyed, or took out the lenses from the frames.

Individuals wounded by -A are often given two options — needing to rigorously clean their wounds and be given bi-monthly blood transfusion to counteract the inability of the wound to heal and the risk of infection; or undergo amputation to completely rid themselves of the injury. For individuals whose injuries are not localized to their limbs, amputation cannot be done and the wounds simply must be taken care of. Seeing personnel with always bloody bandages, amputated limbs and prosthesis are not uncommon sights.

Bandages for -A wounds must be prior soaked in Solution 001-A, and wrapped tight, as to avoid the risk of the blood’s reflection. This is preferably done by medical staff, who have recordkeeping of all individuals wounded by -A.

SCP-001-B

Keepers of 001-B cannot communicate and over time grow conceptually vague, but the cycling of -B occurs while individuals are still recognizable. The Memetics and Countermemetics Section is in charge of the recordkeeping of Keepers.

Keepers can still interact with others and show their presence through physical touch and facial expressions. 

I don’t know if they are capable of writing, but it’d be cool if they devised a non-verbal and non-words series of drawn symbols and gestures for Keepers to utilize as a way to quasi-get around the anomaly. However “cannot communicate” could extend to “writing and sign language”

SCP-001-C

Lake Huron is to be avoided at all costs. Any individual attempting an excursion outside of Site-43 (typically for the gathering of biological materials from dead trees/foliage/etc) is not to approach due to the risk of the water rising again.

SCP-001-D

Respiration from the anomaly sometimes results in structural damage to the Site, or tremors, which requires repair.

The Survivors

The Site’s original population has been cleaved -- both by the initial breach’s heavy losses, and subsequent accidents. Only a little over 100 people remain come the 2030s, and Site-43 functions on a stretched-thin skeleton crew. 

Agent Radcliffe -- A bit torn up here and there from encounters with spectral and temporal entities, but is mostly okay. 

Agent Gwilhem -- Has a bad shoulder due a shrapnel injury. She has taken charge of the remaining members of MTFs Alpha-43, Beta-43 and Delta-43.

Technician Markey -- One of many individuals issuing repairs and maintenance to Site-43, he has sustained various small injuries to his hands due to his work. Lost a finger when it was crushed in a collapsing pipe. 

Dr. Wirth -- Has become pockmarked by various burn scars across his face and hands over the breaches. He received deep wounds across his stomach from SCP-001-A in 2027. Will never forgive himself. 

Chief Mukami -- Has taken major charge within the Site, primary maintainer of reports and processing of incidents. She has a few sparse injuries from an instance in which the bulkhead jammed during one of the loops, and she was injured by shrapnel. 

Technician Ambrogi -- Another individual who aids in site repairs, he would lose his leg in the aftermath of the initial breach due to structural damage caused by the detonation of the Keter and Euclid Wings, resulting in a small collapse of a hallway. Now utilizes a ramshackle leg prosthesis. 

Dr. Del Olmo -- Has sustained two injuries from SCP-001-A, a clawmark to the upper thigh, and one to the shoulder. Initially had turned down the offer of amputation due to their locations, but would have his leg amputated after severe infection years later. 

Dr. Deering -- Unscathed until the day he died. While everyone around him was hurt and bleeding and dying, he was always fine. It’s unclear if this is out of luck, or punishment. He thinks the latter. 

PHMD -- Injured by SCP-001-A shortly upon retrieval, receiving claw marks to the face and lower arm. Turned down amputation of the arm, claiming he needed both hands for his work. Wounds had become severely infected by the time he went missing due to neglect. 

Dr. Ngo --  Had a tendency to throw herself into danger to help others, was never wounded by SCP-001-A, but was a bit scuffed up due to other small scale accidents. Was practically the backbone of the Site for some people, as the only remaining psychologist, a lodestar of hope against this nightmare. Her death is still mourned. 

Dr. Reynders -- Mostly unscathed, aside from a few injuries -- notably one to her cheek from a temporal entity. Has gone missing.

Chronological reversions seem to have odd effects on those still alive. The running theory is that SCP-001 has severely slowed their aging to preserve their lives.

The See You In Hell PTF members are all friend-adjacent in my heart of hearts. Breach containment solidarity. Maybe a bit rough against the edges but we gotta tough it out together. All we’ve got is each other now, yknow?

Aster

While the hubflower became brighter, the common genus of aster dulled after 200 years of being choked by The Island's radioactive fog. Acadian synths use asters mainly as decor & a symbol of independence and prosperity, but some who ingest them claim experiences of psychoactive effects. Those who have these experiences often site the visions they receive as healing. It is said that asters have helped synths recover memories that the Institute purposefully locked away with programming.

So, due to my current Tav (Soluna) not liking anything about Raphael and against all my urges, she's gone to the House of Hope and killed Haarlep.

What strikes me as sad is asking them for their name. They never give you their real name, they refer to themselves as Haarlep in death.

I am so utterly broken about this. Even in death his identity has been tied to Raphael.

The only positive thing I see about this is Haarlep is probably sent to the Abyss because Hell is not his home plane.

...in reference to my other meta post because i just cannot shut up about this hedgehog, for all my disagreements with shth, the music slaps and it's kind of ironic that the lyrics portray the themes of him desperately trying to grab hold of his own fate and have some autonomy better than the actual game does. "i am (all of me)" and "all hail shadow" are probably two of my favorite sonic tracks for just that reason.

they're obviously supposed to be about black doom/the black arms and shadow's internal conflict and confusion about his identity, but i think they work just as well as anthems for coming out the other side of immense tragedy and learning to how to find your footing again, to live and stop letting others dictate who you are and what you should do. they can be looked at as defiant songs, sung in the face of shadow's abusers, manipulators, and anyone who tries to hurt the world he swore to maria that he'd protect.

"i am (all of me)" is a dare for anyone to try to sway him, and a declaration that no matter what people try to make of him, or which memories of his are real or fabricated, he belongs to no one but himself. he's complete, and he is his own.

"all hail shadow" is similar, but even cockier and more obviously triumphant:

it's not just a dare, it's a threat and a promise that he'll keep fighting anything that endangers those he loves or what he believes is right, and he won't stop until he's won. it's also a song about victory ("nothing can stop you now / no ghost to bring you down" and "determination of the strong / found the meaning that you / searched for so long"); he's finally found his purpose and realized that he can decide his own path, he doesn't have to be anyone's puppet anymore.

there's a moment in sonic '06 where mephiles questions shadow's choice to keep fighting when he knows that the world will never understand and likely turn against him, and shadow, no hesitation, tells him: "if the world chooses to become my enemy, i will fight like i always have." and i am SO, soooooooooo in love with this moment, because i feel like it encapsulates everything shadow believes, and reflects the alternative messages that could be derived from his themes in his title game.

shadow is driven not by selfishness but by a personal sense of justice and the determination to keep his promise to his oldest and dearest friend. sometimes that justice doesn't line up with sonic's, but that's okay.

he's just!! he can be an aggressive, broody asshole, yeah, and he's edgy at times, sure, but he is so much more than that. the cold, quiet, unaffected persona is a wall he puts up to keep the people he loves at a safe, arm's length. he's not always a tryhard... sometimes he's just traumatized.

They've only had one real fight.

That's not to say the brothers didn't argue, debate, disagree and banter. Of course they did, they're just like any other set of siblings, blood or not.

They trusted eachother, without question. Had the other's back through everything. Ever since Sonic took him in, they'd been inseperable.

Tails look up to Sonic, that much was obvious. The day he'd saved him, Tails promised himself that he'd be just like Sonic. And of course Sonic had always seen the potential in Tails, knowing he'd grow up to do amazing things, amazed by him since the begining.

Sonic did his absolute best to protect Tails, to raise him to use that brilliant mind of his, and to never let anyone make him feel less than for who he was. He tried to be the best rolemodel and big brother a boy could ever have. But, as much as Tails thought he was, Sonic wasn't perfect.

He was a child, raising another child.

And children are reckless. Sonic even more so.

Years go by, the usual fighting to save the world, near-death experiences with brief periods of peace to give them rest. But Sonic was getting more and more reckless with himself. And Tails' doubts were starting to surface.

It started with the events of Forces. As level headed as he tried to remain, Tails was a mess without Sonic. He wasn't sleeping, mind going a million miles a minute with every sort of awful scenario that Sonic must've been in. Nightmares when he did manage sleep, and resulting in a huge loss of appetite from exhaustion. At the time, it was Amy and Cream that kept him eating and somewhat sane, Knuckles joining in to guard him at night like he would the ME.

When they finally got Sonic back, he was horridly relieved. But things started to change.

With every new disaster, Tails started to see just how wild and reckless Sonic was. And every time it frustrated him more and more, on top of trying to keep himself and others alive against whatever threat was looming at the time.

It was around the age of 14-15 that Tails finally broke.

He had been quiet the whole way home, Sonic going on and on about the mission, how well everyone had done and how proud he was of Tails, trying to give him a pat on the head.

Tails had slapped his hand away then, unable to keep his emotions in check anymore and letting loose all the emotions he'd bottled up over the years. Screaming at Sonic about all his worries, about how he was a wreck without him, how stupid he was to keep running head first into danger like everything is fine. That if he kept going like this, one of these days, Sonic wasn't going to come back.

Sonic shoots back that it didn't matter, that everything was fine, and the danger was gone. He didn't need to worry so much.

This, of course, pissed the fox off even more. He took a swing at Sonic, calling him selfish. This seems to hit a nerve, because shockingly, Sonic shouts back, asking how risking his life to save the world was selfish.

By this point the've been trading swings back and forth, the house a mess with their scuffle. Neither of them dared to use their full strength on the other.

Heavy, exhausted heaves of breath make way for a sob from the fox, stopping Sonic in his tracks. Tails screams that its selfish because if he's gone, what about him? Without Sonic, Tails is no one. Even now, he's just Sonic's Little Brother Sidekick. If the hero is gone, he is nothing.

This is when Sonic realizes his mistakes. They both do. And there's a long silence, only broken by the younger's sobbing, all the fight gone from him. It makes Sonic think of when they first met, and it twists his chest.

He moves to bring Tails close, squeezing him tight. And for once, he lets tears fall in front of someone else. It causes Tails to freeze, almost holding his breath as Sonic tells him that isn't true. That it's the other way around, and he's nothing without his friends, his brother. The only reason he stays so positive is because of them, Tails especially.

The day he saved Tails was the day he found a purpose. To protect what matters.

Because I came up in fandom before the “reader insert” fic was really a thing, for a significant period of time when scrolling through AO3, I thought Y/N was a an actual canonical character, not the placeholder (”your name”) that the reader would find-and-replace with their name in the document before reading. I’m sure not all readers do that, some just learn to read Y/N as their name, but I’m aware a good many do.

So I assumed it was a canonical character and since I was mostly seeing it on crossovers involving some form of anime, I assumed it was an anime character. Probably from a show with gundams, that seemed to make sense. Somehow I managed to build up this little headcanon where Y/N, a character from a gundam anime, stood for Yes/No. Given that Yes/No is a binary similar to 1/0, it was probably a robot, and probably a somewhat sexy lady robot, because well, anime. 

All of which is to say someday I’m definitely going to write a novel starring a robot named Y/N and their quest to pilot a larger, less sentient robot than themselves against a yet to be determined villain. My primary goal is to write a cool story about a robot but my secondary goal is to cause chaos in the Y/N tag on AO3. Just for fun.

i keep seeing a lot of people make headcanon dump posts, so i decided to make one of my various luigi headcanons myself! heres to anyone who wants to read this post! i hope none of you mind the tags, and i apologize if i bugged you!

- luigi has autism spectrum disorder, he was diagnosed at a young age along with marios adhd diagnosis. he also has generalized anxiety disorder and sometimes depression, but he has found many great ways to cope throughout the years.

- luigi LOVES cows. any animal he doesnt know the name of would be called "cow". he uses this as a placeholder word, and he doesnt express the fact he doesnt know the animal directly.

- anytime luigi is overly scared, nervous, shy, or excited, he tends to have a stutter. for him, its hard to find many words in this state.

- you may think luigi is just a plumber, but he also has many different hobbies! these include mechanics, arts, sports (especially tennis!), photography, gardening, and even music!

- luigis favorite colors are green and "porpol" (his pronounciation, not mine).

- luigi is bisexual. he has a strong romantic relationship with princess daisy, but fails to admit it to anyone other than his loved ones in fear of judgement. he also has had interest in prince peasley, but unfortunately wasnt able to talk to him about it before they departed.

- luigi hates loud noises, which led to a childhood fear of lightning and explosions. thankfully, his fear of that significantly lessened thanks to his thunderhand.

- luigi posts polterpup content EVERYWHERE on social media. he may be a cat person, but polterpup is a STRONG exception. have i mentioned he loves his pet ghost dog with all of his heart?

- luigi is generally a pretty emotional guy. barely slamming his hand on the wall? crying. getting a game over in a video game? crying. watching a sad moment in a babies show? crying. just arrived at the doctors office for a checkup? crying. these were mostly exaggerations, but the fact that luigi is emotionally in touch when needbe still stands. this, of course, is a positive thing.

- pancakes is luigis favorite comfort food. he simply stims with joy just ready for a bite! he especially loves it with syrup and blueberries! mmmm... now im hungry!

- when luigi succeeds in battle, he breaks into the sickest dance moves. dont ask me why.

- luigi has a strong feeling of fear, almost anytime he feels it. its either "oh, this is scary :(" or "OH MY GOODNESS I AM PISSING MY PANTS IN TERROR I NEED TO DO SOMETHING OR ESCAPE OR ELSE IM GONNA PASS OUT!!!". absolutely NO inbetweens.

-luigis body has a hard time adjusting to temperature or sudden gait changes. goes out in 50° fehrinheit for a millisecond while wearing a baggy jacket, and hes shivering like a wet dog. he loses the cat powerup after using it for not even 5 minutes, and hes tumbling around as if he were incredibly drunk.

- speaking of drunk, luigi almost never drinks alcohol. he always drinks non-alcoholic alternatives unless on VERY special occasions such as his own wedding or a "our lives are saved again thanks to the bros" party.

- luigi prefers to not be the leader in groups. it makes him very anxious anytime he has to take that role, especially if its a larger group of unfamiliar people.

- luigi is so so so ambiverted. he doesnt want to socialize with new people as he prefers sameness and familiarity. but, when hes with people he knows such as mario and friends, he talks more than youd see in an eminem song. craziest part, hes actually great at making new friends.

- luigi enjoys storytelling. like mentioned in the last headcanon, he enjoys telling people he knows about his day or any sort of scenario that popped up in his head.

- luigi has a high iq, as he can use his logic quite well in tight situations. mario and luigi brothership shows that far enough.

- luigis thunderhand can be helpful, but sometimes it can cause more harm than good. hes normally invincible to his own attack and just lightning in general, but when hes under strong enough emotion, it can lead to his invincibility shield dissipating and him getting hurt.
