Olympia...Olympia.... He turned the name over in their head, trying to put a name to a face. But then...

His ears fly up, recognition flashing in his eyes and raising his eyebrows considerably. Oh! Sonic! That's a name he recognises! Relief washes over the large cat and a gentle smile blooms on their face. Reaching out, they grab the hedgehog's hand and pull her close, lifting her into his arms for a hug.

"Oh..! That's a relief. I thought maybe I was confusing you for someone. I'm very happy to see you..!"

He loosened is grip enough to just hold Olympia up in his arms, a purr starting to rumble their chest. His tail waggled happily behind them.

"You look very nice."

@hexellent sent: Quite the large purple mane coon stares at Olympia. It's not out of being rude, more that he seems to be processing the girl in front of him. She looks like a friend of his, but different. Does she go by a different name? The same name? Is she someone else entirely and this is just a coincidence? Is his memory being spotty again? All these thoughts run through his mind as he continues to stare, ear twitching. Finally, he steps closer and sits, hoping that reducing his height would be less jaring when he finally speaks. "Hello. You look like a friend. Are you a friend?"

Olympia perks up at the sight of Big, tilting her head as he looks at her. Maybe not everyone caught the 4-11, of course, and that didn't account for the whole.. multiverse thing, either. Even still, she never looked frightened for even a moment. Big, of all people, was the last person that Olympia would ever be scared of. Mostly because, well, she'd never give the big guy a reason to be mad at her.

Which is all to say that her usual smile brightens when he speaks up.

"Aw, ya know me, Big. Name's Olympia. The blue blur 'erself, y' dig?" She chuckles, holding her hand out. "Ya can still call me Sonic if ya prefer, ain't got anything against th' other name."

In the first doodle <— SpruceClan deputy Snowshiver is attempting to comfort grieving willow, despiteeee being the reason willow’s sib died in the first place (me when I wanna be leader so I set up scenarios that lead to my opponents gruesome ends) ☹️ next doodle is Willow chatting with her friend silverbark; they are apprentices together :) and last doodle is Willow with her father Sturdybranch he has big eyebrows :3 sturdy and willow were close but got even closer after willow’s sib’s face tragic passing. She may have more relevance to my oc story at large but that is tbd as I am still writing and plotting MWAHAHA

^^^ second is LILYSMOG the lady eva!! She is SpruceClan #1 gossip she is quite nosy and wants to know what is happened all da time and also is Snowshiver’s biggest (one sided) rival. Lilysmog’s hates Snowshivers guts to bits (Snowshiver cat divorced one of Lily’s closest friends named Finchcry and also lily generally hates snow’s pretend attitude of being fair and kind. Lilysmog knows snow is fishy, but it’s hard to get any sort of dirt on her. She’s as clean as her nearly pure white pelt 🤔)

Favorite genres: plaftormers, RPG’s, adventure, puzzle, “casual,” and Metroidvania.  And anything with a storyline that appeals to me.  Not too big on most shooters.  I don’t have anything against them, I just suck at shooters.  Solo player, mostly- my brain works like the brain of a cat, i.e., I like to repeat things until I memorize the patterns so I can “git gud,” or at least get better.  As a result, I don’t do so well when playing against the unexpected randomness of human nature. Again, nothing against it, I just suck at it.

Favorite games/franchises: Undertale/Deltarune (I include Undertale Yellow in this list and I will die on that mountain), Sonic, Axiom Verge, Zelda, Metroid (in that order). (Currently super-obsessed with UTY.)

Also Celeste, Stardew Valley, Ori, American McGee's Alice, Dark Souls, Witcher, and a bunch of others.  I’m bad at a lot of them, but I love them, anyway.

I believe that gaming is a sport and game design is art- which means both making and playing games takes skill and talent. I also believe that God is with us all the time, even in video games. So the purpose of this blog is to show all the ways that God reveals Himself in even the games we play.

I also want to encourage Christian gamers not to let other people tell them whether or not to play games, or even which games to play. God calls each of us differently. For instance, I have no interest in GTA, but if God called you to spread His love in the GTA community, go for it. It's between you and God to decide where He wants you to go. Just make sure you stay close to Him along the way.

From time to time, I'll post what I call "praise reports." These are where I brag about an accomplishment in a game- but I call them "praise reports" because I like to think that God plays games with me, and that when I get stuck, He helps me get through it. Sounds strange, I suppose, to say that God helps me with a game... But I figure, if I can trust Him with the big things, like food and money and my job, then why can't I ask Him for help in little things like beating a boss monster? (In fact, sometimes I feel like it's the other way 'round- like His help in beating a boss reminds me that He can and will help when the car breaks down or something.)

I also like to look at everything and compare it to what God says and ask, "Do I see any Biblical parallels in this?" Which leads to me saying things like, "Hylia giving up her divinity to become a human is like what Jesus did when He left heaven to be born in a manger," or "Sonic walking towards his death to take on his friends' corruption on Rhea Island reminds me of how Jesus carried His own cross to take our sins upon Himself." *shrug* Some people think it's weird. A lot of Christians says it's sacrilegious. I feel like it's just God showing Himself to the world in ways that everyday people will understand.

I am starting to use a special tag for these things: #Biblical parallels. I also have other tags for Bible references, Bible verses, etc. And I try to mark things as religious posts if they mention God or the Bible and I don't have another tag to fit them. Because I am a Christian and I do like to talk about God. But I also know that's not everyone's cup of tea.

Random Headcanon Compilation:

Very big Gentle Giant vibes going on. Very careful.

Is this way ^ because he’s incredibly strong. He understands his strength can be dangerous if not kept in check, and the last thing he wants is to hurt someone.

That being said, he can fight. Strength comparable, if not higher than, Amy’s. Could swing her hammer like a stick really.

Not one for a lot of outward emotions on his face unless they are rather big emotions. His ears and tail are gonna be his biggest indicator of how he’s feeling. That said, doesn’t mean he won’t change his expression ever, just sometimes has to make a conscious effort.

Quite good friends with Vanilla! Would Give His Life for Cream and Amy but would rather just hang out and watch over their shenanigans. (He is constantly dragged into said shenanigans, but he doesn’t mind)

Special interests: Fishing, Frogs, Baking

Froggy is in fact his emotional support animal and comfort item all at once.

Not a fan of crowded places and loud or cacophonous noise. Makes his tail stand on end and his teeth itch. Prefers calm and quiet. Can handle moderate noise. Can take loud noise if necessary.

Fur and smallness are absolutely brilliant power ups!

Hear me out because I am absolutely lost in the sauce now.

Smallness could work if it’s playing by Detective Conan rules. Meaning his small form looks like a 4 or 5 year old. He’d of course use magic to look normal but if he gets too tired runs out of magic, or someone suppresses his magic. POOF he’s a baby.

This helps to hide him from the many sprits trying to kill him. There looking for a half human middle schooler not a baby.

His crush of course would frequently run into “protagonist little cousin” funny gag as long as the same jokes aren’t overused.

As for the fur, I can see it being very useful and playing out in the following scenario.

Protagonist-kun is on life six and over the course of those six lives, he’s actually gotten to be a pretty decent fighter. No longer running away and cowering like he did in the early chapters, instead he fights his enemies head on. He’s actually confident that he can live to old age without losing anymore life’s.

Of course this means a Big Boss has to show up. Boss completely curb stomps Protagonist-kun and the only reason he doesn’t lose another life is because magic-jerk-cat saves him at the last second and they run away.

Protagonist knows that Big Boss is going to show up again and take the rest of his lives. So, cue the training arc. This is where he really starts delving into the magic part of his magical-cat-boy abilities.

Cut to TBD later, big boss has kidnapped someone important( crush, bff, family member) to draw out protagonist. It works and they fight with protagonist, holding up pretty well using the new skills he’s learned in training arc but it’s not enough. In the middle of the fight evil boss brings down his sword and slashes through the protagonist.

He dies.

Of course, he will come back in a few minutes but during the time that he is dead Evil Boss monologues on how he only has to kill catboy three more times and that it will be easy because he now knows catboys fighting style and moves. There’s nothing protagonist can do now that will change the results of their match.

Protagonist revives.

Evil Boss brings down his sword intent on ending another one of protagonist lives. Only the sword to be completely stoped by our now fur covered protagonist. He tries again, and again only to realize he can’t cut protagonists fur.

Jerk-cat explains that Magic cat fur is naturally strong and magic resistant. Acting as a power natural shield. ( flashback to season one where a Skulker-style villain had tryed to hunt down jerk-cat for his incredibly valuable pelt, he was of course thwarted by protag)

With this power-up in place, protag-Kun curb stops big boss in an awesome Shonen nonsense fight.

Later on after injuries have been healed, kidnapped person has been rescued and everyone back at home. Protagonist has a full on freak out over the fact that they are now a real life furry. No amount of hats, coats or big shoes can cover up all this fur. He’s destined to become a recluse who never leaves his house! The poor poor tragic tale of cat boy.

Just kidding, magic-cat has an easy spell that can hide the fur. Protagonist a course tries to spell out immediately.

Good news the spell worked and the fur is gone. Bad news is the pro tag is a striped cat, unlike the magic-cat who is one solid color (either black or white) because of his stripes, while the fur disappears, it leaves behind large black stripes all over his skin that look like tattoos! He looks like a yakuza!

Magic is no help. So he turns to human means of covering that what you don’t want to seen. MAKE-UP

This would be the chapter in the manga where they would take a step back from the Shonen stuff and go back to its gag-manga roots.

- Catboy wearing a ton of cloths in the middle of summer to cover tattoo looking stripes.

- Middle school boy try to buy makeup and is terrified of what the cashier will think.

- Cashier doesn’t care/ doesn’t notice

- Catboy is sure she cares and is going to tell everyone.

- Loudly yells “ITS FOR MY MOM” this is the only thing he says for the entire interaction.

- Gets home try’s on the makeup. It covers the tattoo but is absolutely the wrong skin color.

Silly manga-esque idea that is now stuck in my head:

A kid saves a cat from dying. It shortly thereafter evolves that the cat was no ordinary cat, but a cat spirit. Grateful for the kid's help, the cat spirit gives them a gift: nine extra lives. But there's a catch! Every time the kid uses one of those lives, they gain a cat feature. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. Childhood mortality is at an all time low, and it isn’t as if the kid is a big risk taker. There's another catch, though, related to why the cat spirit was slumming it in the mortal world to begin with. Yeah. There are people out to get the cat spirit. And since the kid holds part of the cat spirit's power... Well. They're after them, too.

Will they survive? Will they ever be able to get rid of their cat ears? Will they ever get the courage to talk to their love interest (who is secretly into this stuff)? Will they eventually turn into a cat entirely?

Who knows!

"Have you heard, have you heard?" Someone in the crowd whispers, "The circus is coming to town."

The distorted music coming from the giant tent is ringing in your ears. The night has fallen, but the lights the circus provides gives the impression that it's still daytime.

Floods of people are entering the tent, they seem never-ending, but the tent always has a place for more people. People who exit the tent have souvenirs, colorful hats, and unusually big candies. Some are with family, some are with friends, but they all have a smile on their lips, eyes sparkling with the miracles they just witnessed.

You witnessed it, too.

You're fresh out of the show that had ended. The torch-lit room still makes you shiver when you think of it, excitement prickling on your skin despite the show already being over.

You saw a man carry an elephant in his arms without breaking a sweat, the hypnotizer who can command people at will, a man creating ice and fire out of thin air, there was even someone who could make explosions with his hands. A pink-skinned girl, invisible girl, a man with 111 piercings, a redhead with skin as hard as a rock- they all had something weird, special about them.

You are standing in front of the entrance, not going in, neither going out. Your eyes wander over the flyer that's pinned on the board. It's the flyer you've seen the past week everywhere, the streets are littered with it, but you never picked it and read what was on it. You find yourself looking at it, hoping to feel the remnants of the magic of the show on it.

The paper is adorned with reds, purples, and greens, and you bring your hand up to touch the smooth surface of it as you read the golden, big lettered headline.

"The greatest circus in the world!" It says, listing the shows right under it, you find something similar to envy bubbling inside you as you read about the shows, the quirky people who would be an outcast if they were anywhere but here. You envy them, the life they have, how free they are, going around the world and just being themselves, being as weird as they want, it still gains them money.

A circus is just what you need; you find yourself thinking. Leave your life behind and join them.

"Do you want to see a man lift a whole house with his pinky? Someone who can create explosions out of thin air? There's more, more to the freaks. Come then, come closer." You read, unconsciously stepping forward and nearing the paper.

You bite down on your lip, an audible gasp makes your eyes widen when you read the small box that's in the corner of the flyer.

"Want to be a part of the show?" It says, so small you would've missed it any other day. "Show us what you have, and you might become one of us."

"You have to prove yourself first, though."

It's surprisingly easy to slip in the tent without being seen, you realize. People seem engrossed about everything else going on to interest themselves with a girl walking through.

Or so you think.

You push under the heavy curtains of the tent that's opening to the backstage, and you have the flyer in your hands, not even aware of how you're squeezing it, that your knuckles turn white.

Before you falls the dark night, the only light source a flimsy torch on the ground. You wonder if this is a mistake, you're hoping to stay alive, and you're not sure if walking right in the freaks' Inn is going to help that.

But you still proceed, the want to join them, belong somewhere, leave your life behind, be anyone but yourself at that moment weighing heavier than your fear.  

 You stand before an opening, small tents are in line, waiting for you. Something in you whispers for you to pick the:

~{Red curtained tent}: it's heavily adorned by torches all over, so much that you have to shield your eyes from the light. The owner seems to want everything strong.

~{Indigo curtained tent}: a black cat sits right before the curtain. It's looking at you with Its large, gold eyes, which make you feel like they're staring into your soul.

I have almost the same headcanon: big ol fluffy black monster cat periodically shows up the summer before Lucy, and George names her Kevin, because "I don't know, he looks like a Kevin." Sometime later they figure put that Kevin wants to hire them to find her human mom's source, solve her murder, and put her spirit to rest.

Afterwards, Kevin does not leave 35 Portland Row, and later has kittens in George's wardeobe.

This is one of the kittens:

Lockwood gives the kitten to Kipps after he starts his supervisor desk job. "Got you a seeing-ghost cat. You know, being as you can't do that yourself at the moment."

Kipps names him Andrew.

Andrew is a chaos gremlin.

Andrew is the best ghost cat since Tom Rotwell started putting cats in bags for ghost detecting purposes

After joining L&co, Kipps refers to Andrew and Lockwood as Andrew and Human Andrew when he's particularly cross with Lockwood.

Lockwood does not enjoy this one bit.

(The co ends up keeping the other two kittens (names tbd), and Kevin, and the cats are the first members of the agency to get proper badges and uniforms.)

Like ... I think Lockwood particularly needs to be surprised by clingly pet affection. You expect a retriever to be all up in your business, loving on you like it's their JOB. Because that's how they do.

"I quite like cats," Lockwood says, "You don't mind them; they don't mind you, they keep the mice away. They never try to make you experience an emotion..."

You don't necessarily expect a cat to do view from my face every damn morning noon and night

Exhibit B: my cat Flynn, whomst is needier and more emotionally, affectionately expressive than any dog I have ever had (but i grew up with Chinese shar-peis, which are a notoriously aloof breed)

And i also think Lockwood needs to experience the joy Adventure of multiple baby kittens and their mama curling up ON him overnight as he realizes that the only rule he is physically incapable of breaking. Is the rule that you cannot move with the cat on you.

("Geooorge? Luuuce? Anyone???" Accept the damn nap, son.)

Plus you can more easily leave a cat on its own for a couple of days while you're stuck in a haunted house in the suburbs that is really, really trying to murder you, without needing to coordinate with your Holly on whether or not her apartment allows dogs of medium to large size.

It is absolutely non-negotiable that they get a dog for the agency and that it’s called Lockwoof. Obviously, it’s a golden retriever, like Lockwood. Obviously, it just appears one day, as far as Lockwood is concerned. Obviously, despite initial protestations, Lockwood and Lockwoof can be found sitting together in the library most nights.
