I don't think I've ever posted this here, but this is for that one #BibeNiLucifer trend thing going on. Luci's in his human form here because the church may call him a demonyo o bakla with all that "make-up" on his face. Which, fair enough, but still. XD He's supposed to be incognito while traveling the Philippines. Lmaooo I can just imagine Aling Susan chasing him around with a walis tingting and her gossiping with the other ninangs about that "porener na mukhang bading" LOLOLOL. 🐤🐤🐤
He's such a ✨️bibegurl.✨️💅

so there's this post that talks about how people call jason's curved knife a kris but it's not a kris 'cuz why would he have a southeast asian knife? and op's tags say if you're gonna give him an 'exotic' weapon at least make him malay or something. a later reblog adds a filipino kris as an example, and then i was like, 'omg, jason in a barong tho.' SO i tried designing a bat-barong inspired by his hood logo, for a filipino jason haha. and now here we are! 😊✨️🇵🇭

HII CAN I REQUEST NOIR X FILIPINO READER
HOLY FUCKING SHIT YES PO MAHAL KONG ANON <333 i'll make this like the previous x filipino readers, but if you babes want, i could even try making a whole ass fic about it :DD
(btw this'll be in the same time period as noir, 1930's, so if you want modern hcs too just hmu <3)
okokok now, hear me out...
he wears barong tagalogs more often around you. like, okay, if we're talking about 1930's philippines, i think he'd FUCKING DIE OF HEATSTROKE IN THAT DARK OVERCOAT AND FEDORA MATCHUP OK, he wears barong tagalogs instead bc they're light, airier, and ofc, to respect your culture :>
he was surprised to hear how well the people speak english, bc if i remember correctly, a lot of filipinos were taught how to speak english before tagalog, even in that time period. if you weren't that well-versed in english, NO PROBLEM, HE WOULD GLADLY SPEND HOURS OF HIS TIME READING, WRITING, AND LISTENING TO, AND PRACTICING TAGALOG AND/OR YOUR LOCAL DIALECT FOR YOU <333
he was a little iffy about the foods at first, like specifically dinuguan when he heard it was from pig's blood, but he came to like the colorfulness of filipino dishes and how good they really are the moment he tried them.
why do i think his favorites would be BOTH sinigang AND adobo? like if he was asked which one he liked better, he'd just go silent and say, "...well neither are purple so i think both are good options," LIKE HE DON'T BELIEVE IN FEUDING OVER THEM, BOTH ARE GOOD AS FUCK
oh and when he courts you............ WHEN HE COURTS YOUUUUU, he fr going up to the nearest manong and asking how to play a simple love song as he sneaks glances at you by your window, gazing out but not at him, the blush creeping up on his cheeks and up to the tips of his ears, LIKEEEEE
he'd spend days practicing how to harana you, HE'D HIRE A WHOLE ASS BAND FOR YOU IF YOU WANTED A GRAND, BIG GESTURE OF LOVE, but even on his own, he is AMAZING at singing and playing the guitar (you cannot take this headcanon away from me, he can play.)
and when the carinosa comes on at a party or a gathering you two are at, HE WASTES NO TIME IN EXTENDING HIS HAND TOWARDS YOU AND ASKING YOU IF YOU WANNA DANCE
"aking pinakaminamahal... maari bang isayaw kita ngayong gabi?" (shit sana tama grammar ko SORRY PERO YOU GET IT)
AND WHEN HE'S MOVING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO YOU BUT NOT HOLDING YOU YET DURING THE DANCE, HIS SMILE GETS WIDER, YOU NOTICE HE HAS DIMPLESSS
the way the corners of his lips curls when he smiles as he sneaks glances at you, wishing he could hold you as he courts you through dance, the way he blushes and how his eyes shine when he stares into yours, THE DORKY CHUCKLES HE LETS OUT AS HE WATCHES YOU TEASE HIM WITH THE FAN MOVEMENTS >>>>>
then afterwards, he takes you in his arms, holds you close, and asks you, "ano, mahal, ayos ba?" he asks with a slight accent as he blushes a bright red, hoping to kiss you right here, right now, to declare to your family and friends how much he loves you and wants to be yours
a/n: tangina binalikan ko pa mga carinosa steps BWHAHAAHA PERO KICKING MY FEET, GIGGLING, TWIRLING MY HAIR, SCREAMING I LOVE HIM <333

THE FOOL - commonly meaning new beginnings and foolish actions both; the perfect card to represent the reckless and foolish iterator that started it all.
[link to speedpaint here] [design notes under the cut]
this card is very pre-game -- pebbles had just recieved the Golden Pearl (<- this will be a recurring object) and started pulling more water than he needed. the fool himself is the main feature, reaching for the metaphorical cliff (the pearl) (a cliff to fall from like in the original fool card) as the consequences start to flicker into being under his feet, the sheer possibility writhing into reality as he barrels on without care to the consequences he will bring down to both himself and his sister. the start of it all, and the start of the end.
other design notes include: -the rot (this is the first time i've drawn it and i am very proud of it) (also proud at how it almost looks like a hologram, not quite real just yet) the fact that pebbles' arm comes from the same direction as the rot (the consequences. the cliff.) -the gold pearl shining like a star (i swear the original fool card was looking at a star but i guess it's not? something something the brilliance and beauty of the star blinds the fool to the consequences and danger) -the halo (if you look at the speedpaint i will upload (have uploaded?) you'll see that i wrote fool in morse over and over) (also the halo is meant to be split into five parts with the circles being the marker for where its split. cause yknow. five pebbles.) -and the outfit design (my own headcanon, its inspired by traditional filipino dress. in specific the top is a barong tagalog and the skirt was inspired by something i saw in the fabric part of the ayala museum. the sash was one, so there'd be something that trails cause that always looks nice in illustrations and two, to tie pebbles to moon (moon is wearing a filipiniana pre-collapse and those sometimes have sashes))

Been wanting to draw out their wedding attire for a long while...
Anyways, explanation under the cut for anyone interested!
So here we go:
For Sera's, he wouldn't stray too much from the traditional wedding kimono, but with a traditional barong tagalog underneath. Nothing too far, very straightforward, easily pairs well, and not too showy.
Stray's is a little different because wedding traditions in the PH pretty much follow Western/Catholic ones, hence why the dress is rather grand. The concept for their wedding dress follows that of the traditional Filipiniana, (specifically the one with a scarf) but with a twist: The scarf that’s usually tied in front is now melded into the dress, more of a large portrait collar, and is structured in a way to keep the back of the collar up, maintaining the original silhouette for the Filipiniana. However, what blends the cultures for this is the mesh train cape and the veil they’re wearing.
The train cape has phoenix feathers embroidered into the bottom of it, which alludes to Sera’s irezumi (this is my own headcanon, not confirmed, you can read it here), but also taking note of the shape, when worn with the dress, it creates the silhouette of a wedding kimono. What finishes it off is the wedding veil Stray wears.
By doing this, Stray still keeps the designs from their own culture while taking inspiration from Sera’s Japanese one. On another note: Stray’s dress is meant to be more white, but I wanted a nice lavender for the shade to make the lighter stuff pop out more, aka it’s just an artistic choice.
Anyways...... I am very sleepy and don’t know if I’m making sense, but hope it’s all cohesive. I might edit this part when I feel better, just so it makes more sense 🥴

A Sun That's Rising- partial redesigns!
As we've been writing STR, I've had the uncontrollable urge to worldbuild (map coming soon), and after speaking with a diversity consultant about designs and how appropriate accuracy to existing cultural clothing vs fantasy world=not the same culture and not wanting to misrepresent, I have started the STR character designs! One notable change is Wind's hair color, but aside from that it fits completely appropriately into EOS.
(Also, I have been picturing them as inspired by these cultures and of these races and appearances since I wrote EOS, this is just me getting the confidence/go-ahead to make their clothing more culturally accurate)
Here's the rough designs I have so far! (for EOS folks- this does contain the STR characters as well, so just. uh. know those guys exist, there shouldn't be any spoilers in here though so dont worry about that. Of the canon chain/EOS guys I've only properly designed 3 so far, but I do have concept sketches for Hyrule as well based on what part of the story he's in, so that's cool. These are also labeled (sometimes) for your convenience. I am mixing real life time periods a bit, but that's Fine, I did want everyone to be '''appropriately''' clothed (i.e. wearing enough clothing that nobody gets uncomfortable, as nudity tends to be sexualized in western culture) so that meant futzing around with eras a bit hahah. Also, reminder that many of these characters are adopted, and therefore I'm not just going 'boom he's south american because thats fun', Ihave thought through the distance and cultural exchange between countries and the origins of their bio families and stuff.
ANYWAYS
WIND!
Wind's design is inspired by Peruvian traditional clothing. The sandals have an extra ref, as I added them to the design later.
TWI!
Twilight's design, like Malon's, is inspired by Indigenous Turtle Island (american) cultures, specifically those located in the plains areas. He is Malon and Time's bio kid.
MALON!
Malon the beloved! As Jingle Dresses are ceremonial, I took some inspiration from them, but am not recreating one, because they are connected to the spirituality and ritual of Indigenous culture in real life, and those cultures and the ones in the story are not the same.
SHADOW!
Here's Shadow in Ao Dai! As I've determined that (specifically East) Hyrule(the country) has partially Chinese cultural inspirations (and is where Castle Town lies,) Shadow's design fits with West Hyrule's culture, which is inspired by Vietnamese culture. I also checked the meaning of colors of clothing and period appropriate dyes, so there's that :D
GROOSE!
As of now, none of you have met Groose in canon, but I Love Them So Much. Inspired by Norwegian cultural clothing.
me: [looks at Groose Skyward Sword] but what if you were a they/them lesbian-
AND HERE'S THE HYRULE THUMBNAIL SKETCHES!
Filipino cultural inspiration for him! Yes, I gave him skirts as well as tunics. They are more interesting (to me) than pants.
NOTE: I will not be explicitly naming all of the clothing items as they are named in real life, when writing the fic. Since 'Tagalog' is the name of an Austronesian language, Hyrule could not wear something called a 'Barong Tagalog,' if Tagalog did not exist in the world.
I'll add on more characters as I sketch them, but I am, as always, pretty busy. I'll go ahead and post the maps next, and then some picrews I did as well, so you all can get a sense of their faces.

Here have a WIP Why don't I draw more? I should draw more!
I've been wanting to draw this forever. It's Cyril and Imelda's wedding picture. He's Japanese/Korean and wearing an obi/barong combo and she's Filipina and wearing a kimono and I just think it's sweet.
They have an autumn wedding.
Cyril's nephew is the ring bearer and their dogs are the flower girls.
This is the first time I'm drawing these two. So designs were pulled out of my butt.

Chapter 14 Prologue Part 4
We start with Barong inching closer and closer to the screen. Saying welcome to the city of Entertainment and they want to give their all to the audience. For this occasion they will wear a mask, what kind of role should they play. The next morning, MC wakes up in their hotel room. He tells them that it’s morning room service. He tells MC that Entertainers are good at invading people’s hearts. He can’t follow MC around all the time while he’s working. If he were to describe the Entertainers, he would say they are pleasant criminals. While they were talking, Christine was right behind Barguest the whole time. She made herself know saying they will do whatever for the audience. She tells them not to worry about her mask, hiding her face is part of her role and she thanks MC for accepting their invitation.
Outside, we see Bael. He said even if the Entertainer do whatever for the audience even if it mean breaking the law. The law is the law. As a prosecutor he can’t let them slide, even if they’re allies or family. It’s time he do his job as the first order of the law of Solomon. Back inside, Christine asked MC what they think of their base. All kinds of entertainment gather here. MC still doesn’t trust them (rightfully so). Christine ask them not to make such a scary face and that they just want to make a game in Tokyo. The current game has continuity and entertainment. The Game Masters are responsible for the continuity part and the Entertainers are responsible for providing entertainment. Christine wants to show the audience something never seen before. Christine starts talking about King Solomon and what does the world look like from their perspective. People with selfish faiths can never understand King Solomon but people are always drawn to those they can’t understand. There isn’t enough drama to show him so they want to do something new. Christine tells MC they are a important actor and to take care of themselves until it’s their turn. Bigfoot returns to take MC around where ever they want.
Outside, we see Nobumichi setting up police blockades around the area. He asked Horus what to do next. Horus tells him to send the remains to forensic. And after that, they will talk to any eye witnesses. If you find any suspicious people, bring them to me. Horus tells Nobumuchi to be careful not to get his body parts chopped off. This Ripper Case is dangerous. Horus sacred artifact can revive all body parts connected and put inside the coffin even if they’re dismembered. This is how his father, Osiris, was revived. After then Horus can use the reanimated person any way he wants. Nobumichi tells him to leave it to him. He’s strong, stronger than his brother Yasuyori. Horus tells that right, only the strong can bring peace. They will create a Utopia that no one has ever created before. After he left, Bael showed up to talk to Horus. Horus thanks Bael for coming. Bael said that Horus is the only world rep in the Rule Makers who treats him seriously. Bael ask him how does the Judicial Police view this incident. There has always been nasty rumor surrounding the Entertainers, including the selling of human body parts. And then there’s the Ripper Case. This is also similar to what happen in Shinjuku. Come to think of it, the body part found then was physically matched with MC’s. Back then the World Reps were in a hurry thinking the trophy was targeted. Even the pillars still don’t know who the culprit or victim is. Mononobe seems to be the only one who knows the truth. Horus said that they still don’t know anything but the Entertainers are hiding something. Bael brings up that Horus was against the Rule Makers forming an alliance with the Entertainers. Horus said him and a few other World Reps were against the idea. But they had to follow the majority vote. If the Entertainers are involved then Horus won’t slow down in his pursuit. Bael thinks that the fact that the World Reps are showing up here could mean this incident may have something to do with the game. After they left we see two new characters.
We cut to the slums, where Rule Makers are arresting anyone related to the Wanderers. A valiant angel is ordering around the new recruits, mobs who are former members of the Missionaries and Tycoons. Another of the new recruits is Kirito. The angel ask Kirito for his background. Kirito just list the guilds he was a part of at one point. The angel ask why Kirito left them, he must’ve done something bad. Kirito said he won’t do anything or rather he can’t do anything in the first place. He a guy that doesn’t have much power anyway, those other guilds destroyed themselves. The recruits are then suddenly attacked by chains, it’s Arc from the Genociders. Arc swore to never stand on the battlefield again. Kirito says “Arc, huh? You’re still alive”. Flashback to CH8 where Arc died. After that flashback, Arc said they heard about Kirito from MC. Kirito ask does that mean Arc joined the Summoners. Arc said no, they are still the Guildmaster of the Genociders. Arc ask Kirito to come back and be a family. Kirito said no they’re not related anymore. Kirito ask why are they so desperate. Kirito says you know about the loops from Babalon. Kirito thinks it would better if they could just quickly get out of Tokyo. Arc tells him that Azathoth and the others still think of you as family. Kirito says it’s admirable but all this entrustment makes him want to vomit. He says doesn’t need a relationship and to never show your face again and he’s sorry for forcing his affection on them. Before Arc can say anything, the Drone fighters mobs appeared. Some time later, Arc is still fighting them but more keep coming. Kursha appeared and tells Arc it’s time to escape. After they left, Kirito is left alone until Isafril shows up. He introduce himself as a employer for the Rule Makers. He tells Kirito he has a job for him involving the Entertainers

post-con diary process long rambling //
i’m trying to figure out why i’ve been feeling a creative shift towards diaspora and religious horror even though I have lived in the ph most of my life. i think it’s the fact that we grow up seeing us/can settings in pop culture, the novels i was reading, etc. and now that i’m actually in those places i wanna fiddle around with them as a creator from the outside.
esp as someone who learned of these things as foreign and far away but now has access to them, and has an interest mainly because i’ve read and watched how many music vids, ya novels, games, shows, etc. that i still think of whenever i walk outside and the leaves are turning and i’m wearing a polo and learning that there is such a thing as school locker rooms and house basements you can fuck around in, and you read about a fictional gay boy in the diaspora who does the same lifting weights downstairs when he’s upset because insert commentary here about queer masculinities and colonial machismo which i like thinking about as a trans man with many messy feelings etc etc.
but also i think i enjoy that when i work on this it’s freeing more than like when i do amorsolo palette barong tagalog ph mythology paintings and say my name is isagani (to be updated) it feels like i’m trying to prove something. like i am (and i was) insecure about stamping proof of my filipinoness in a way that leaves a sour taste in my mouth especially after learning the way many komikeros trademark sign think about pinoy komiks trademark sign. compared to embracing and playing with the foreign influences i have because i want to confront them as someone both from outside and now inside yet not really. and maybe there is something really intimidating and terrifying about these things when you’re new to them and they don’t exactly account for your existence in their world. neither did i expect to be existing here and i want them to remember i do so. tension maybe. and i like sitting down to draw in that tense muddy headspace.
tldr idk i feel like i can be myself in this tone/theme of art n writing and it’s so simple like that yet i feel kinda sad that when i started posting and pitching that really wasn’t the case
so when i don’t want to do amorsolo palette barong tagalog carabao sun art with baybayin slogans it’s almost out of spite. i think i am angry. and arrows to their heaven and everything after with my obsession with killing god is some kind of fuck you fuck this fuck everything acting out in direct response to my earlier work. honestly i’m cool with that

I woke up tired and decided that I will not attend the wedding of A. I mean, I am not that essential naman that people would ask for me. Besides, I already shared my part: there was the barong and paid half for the church flowers. kung hindi ba naman sya masiyahan dyan, eh ewan nalang.
not that i am being maarte but it was gloomy that weekend and all I wanted was to sleep. but just the same, you make time for people that you love. A is family to me. his happiness is also my happiness.
days before, viber convos centered on what to wear? the dress code was barong tagalog...the thing here is, i don’t have one.
“Let’s not barong na, para we dont outsage the groom” said John.
I agreed. I wore a coat, decent slacks and settled for DocMartens boots, congrats, Jopet. Titong tito kana.
The consensus was no barong na. Until I reached the church and saw them sporting barongs. mga traidor. lol
so I sat through the marriage rites and prayed for the couple, who showed fortitude despite the odds. this ceremony also caps more than ten years of courtship. it was a feat to be celebrated.
After the wedding there was a kiosk outside the church serving squid balls, kikiam and quail eggs. the couple had this bright idea of pre-feeding their guests before we head off to the reception. I had two servings and wanting to go thirds, but Marlon who I carpooled with was raring to go.
You know what’s good about intimate weddings? the crowd is small hence the vibe is more relaxed. i have been to large weddings before and I tell you, the larger the crowd the more chaotic it can be. but last night was devoid of anything annoying. matter of fact, I had a good time and saw my other siblings (John P, John E, Marlon and Ronald) and by good fortune I was introduced to this guy who not only attended my university but we had the same course and he’s cute and interesting. of course, i restrained myself from flirting and instead glanced at him from time to time.
then came the dancing. and i was surprised to see someone. basta. long story.
the food was great. thankfully it was a plated dinner meaning no mad dash to queue for food. it was an eight course. i was equally busog.
nearing 9pm i was worried since it was raining so hard. grab drivers were aloof. angkas was my last resort. good thing, Ron offered to bring me home but the guy I met had other plans...
so i assume you are single i mean the rest of your siblings are married, right?
oo single ako (kunwari hindi ako interested)
wanna go out for drinks?
i don’t pick up guys on a wedding reception.
lol. ang funny mo. drinks lang and we will take it from there...
drinks lang ha....

*In the end, Kristoph was able to win the trial despite his initial distraction. For the past few days he had been practicing with Cameron on Polka Bal. He also requested to Eloisa one of the few Filipinos who is capable of creating traditional Filipino attire. He requested for her to make him the Barong Tagalog much to her shock but nonetheless did so he would be able to attend the party with Cameron.*
*Right now he was seen looking at himself wearing the Barong Tagalog before he would go the Wright Talent Agency to pick up Cameron.*

Kristoph buttons up his purple Baron Tagalog and fixes his hair.
Kristoph:
(Ready to go. But why do I feel a little… Anxious?)
Despite his doubts, he drives to the Wright Talent Agency and knocks on the door.

An Overly Political Dream From My Nap
we're in this new huge condo we're gonna live in for the next few weeks, we got a lot of our house stuff, its as if we're gonna transfer here. it looks all fancy smancy but its just white and black
tried pissing in the public bathroom and the urinals are very large and akin to the spaghetti spoon and the japanese soup spoon, my cousin K came in and i pissed on him instantly, got pissed back tried going away.
cuts to back in the unusually large condo unit with the stairs but with less shit on the floor this time, talking about the place itself, and the holy week trip where you have to go at the lowest floor in the basement to the top floor using the elevator or stairs, the elevator requires permission by the priests and the lowest floors are locked down, only few people who did it are the staff or priests, not a single regular person is able to do it.
cuts to the next day afternoon, watching TV with me and the homies, 1 former classmate from high school J D, 3 of my current classmates, one guy from here online, and then rin penrose. we're joking about JFK cuz of what we're currently watching in the many cartoon channels, somehow george bush is also on the tv so i joked about him too. i mentioned about JFK having hookers and such, to the shock of my friends (or whatever the dream says they are).
we're wondering on what happened to the channels owned by disney after the shutdown, i got off my bookshelf we're sitting on (rin penrose is also there but she's just her animated torso, kinda reminds me of a gmod bot) and switched the channels, its a bunch of filipino radio broadcasts or very old filipino dubs of disney shows. one radio tv channel has the host using a mickey puppet during his show, probably because he is also aware of disney shutting down and his network being the replacement in our cable provider (its still cable link somehow).
cut to morning where im all alone, i forgot what promoted me to play the bombastic version of the philippine national anthem that i made and exclusively use to mock the overly nationalistic, especially politicians, I was wearing my barong tagalog but with a bunch of random honorary badges slapped on, this might've been my "pastor senator" persona/character. im in the white and black version of my current house that is nearby the condo i think. during the second replay of the anthem i got the philipines jacket and a bunch of flags of different sizes, wore the big one as a cape and waving the medium one. there was a bunch of people in front of my house, i think those are the ROTC students. i said a /\/ /-\ zi phrase and gesture after the anthem in mockery of the government. despite being in an crazy patriotic clothes with 50 fake military badges all disorganized, the students thought i was just being edgy and not satirical, they repeated what i did without having a clue on what i mean (even when they're supposed to not hear that, i was practicing for a video), i said "what the fuck??", the teacher got very angry at the students.
i then woke up at 9:26 AM
im pretty sure some of the faces rotc students in the dream are also my IRL current classmates.

The Barong Tagalog has been heavily considered the “face” of Filipino fashion and culture. It has been the staple that defines Philippine culture and history in fashion and clothing.
The clothing has been one of the physical aspects that represent Filipinos for over and even continues to be a form of formal traditional wear even to this very day. With some establishments even offering custom-made barong Tagalog products for special occasions, there is no denying that it is the Philippines’ traditional costume and formal wear for men.
However, seeing how long the barong has been around for years, how did this local outfit still have an influential impact not only on locals but also on foreigners who fancy them?
Here is how the barong became the staple of Filipinos and its significant influence within and outside the country.
Brief History of the
Barong Tagalog originates from the Tagalog word baro, meaning “shirt” or “clothing”, hence why the full name is translated to literally “Tagalog clothing”.
The traditional formal wear dates back to the pre-colonial era in the Philippines, where the original design consists of a double sleeve-doublet, with color representing the wearers’ social status.
It is believed that during this time, the Spanish colonizers forced the natives to redesign their outfits into transparent upper garments to show that the locals were not hiding any weapons and distinguishing them from the ruling class then.
Despite its arguable influence on design, this didn’t deter the favor of the barong as the design has improved and changed over time, with the coloration preference changing to lighter colors.
The barong Tagalog experienced a significant decline in the American colonial era as suits and tuxedos replaced it. It was however brought back to the trend as notable barong Tagalogs have become popular by President Ramon Magsaysay.
During his inauguration, he deliberately wore a barong; other Philippine presidents soon followed this. Soon, within the 1960s, the barong regained its status as the Philippines’ “formal wear”.
After Marcos’ declaration, the formal wear was made compulsory as official attire for employees in both government and private sectors.
The Growing Influence of Barong
Barongs have experienced a significant rise in influence towards locals and foreigners alike over recent years. From its beginning as a traditional clothing, it has evolved into the symbol of the nation’s identity and fashion statement.
One of the growing influences is attributed to the increased promotion of preserving Filipino culture, which led to the resurgence of certain traditional factors, including using barong as a formal wear.
That said, barong has become the clothing of this current age, where younger generations wear barong on formal occasions to show their sense of class and appreciation of their culture and heritage.
Furthermore, modern designers have incorporated new styles and elements into traditional designs, making them more sleek and appealing to a wider audience. It adds to the growing popularity of custom-made barong tagalogs in the fashion industry.
Many local and international celebrities have also worn barongs in special events to ride along the growing trend or legitimately show the rich culture the clothes symbolize.

i found your filo diluc so
perhaps … what about filo childe 👀
filo childe who plays basketball with his friends every weekend. he’s a varsity player!! lets you wear his jersey and warmers, always dedicates his shoots to you. searches for you in the audience and blows you a kiss while he’s in court. the two of you are known as that couple in campus. definitely a league of legends and valorant player. streams them live on fb and makes you watch and cheer him on even if you have no clue what’s going on.
he comes from old money. one of those babies whose parents gave super long fancy names to. ajax childe tartaglia josephino miguel antonio mabini-rizal iii.
would pay for everything. he doesn’t believe in kkb and will always insist on paying when you’re out on dates. sometimes, random grab or food panda drivers will arrive at your house and deliver food, saying it’s already been paid for. ofc it was childe. he loves to spoil you.
he’s your personal driver!! brings out his best cars whenever he take you out. it doesn’t even need to be an errand that involves him. going out with friends? he’s taking his keys and speeding to your house to drive you to your meet up place. need a ride home? he’s there asap. childe will never let you commute. bat ka pa sasakay ng jeep o tricycle o bus kung may porsche naman siya?
introduces you to his family before you even start dating. talking stage palang kinukwento ka na niya sa kanila as if kasal na kayo. would absolutely give you his grandmother’s ring as an anniversary gift. if the two of you ever break up, his family blames him and says he should do everything he can to get you back. mas trato ka pang anak kesa sa kaniya.
his family would still keep in touch with you even after you broke up, always dropping hints here and there about how much they miss you and how great you and childe looked together. teucer once said that if you aren’t gonna get back with his kuya then you should wait for him to grow up so you can date him instead.
childe, on the other hand, resorts to old traditions to win you back. serenading you outside your house (muntik na siya mahuli ng barangay tanod kasi akala adik siya), chopping blocks of wood on your yard (di mo alam kung san siya nakakuha ng kahoy), etc.
you laugh throughout the whole ordeal because he looks so goofy. naka barong tagalog pa siya every time bibisita siya sa bahay niyo. your family adores him. in the end, after much time and effort, he does win you back.
#the end is kinda rushed im sorry i dont know how to end it kajdksjdj#lord isang childe nga po#lf sugar daddy#genshin x reader#genshin impact x reader#childe x reader#tartaglia x reader#ajax x reader#gn reader#genshin shorts#asks#anon

talking about intersectionality in stories and in opera w @madmozarteanfelinefantasy (this is for u) always leads to good ideas
anyway, filipino le nozze di figaro a.k.a. Ang Kasal ni Figaro, if anyone attempted a translation + local production
[ID: 5 sketches. First is a sketch of all the singing characters in Le Nozze in my idea of a local adaptation.
Second is a closeup of the Almavivas. Almaviva is a thin sickly Spanish man wearing a military uniform with a tragic moustache and two arrows pointing at him saying "Almaviva, encomiendero/peninsulares de Hacienda Almaviva" and "stupid ass official". Rosina Almaviva is a sickly looking woman in a baro't saya. She has brown skin but a white face. An arrow points at her saying "Rosina Almaviva, mestiza de español".
Third is a closeup of Basilio, Cherubino, Barbarina, and Antonio. Basilio is a white man in a Spanish priest's habit and holding a conductor's stick. An arrow points at him saying "Fray Basilio dominican frayle, asshole". Cherubino is a filipino person wearing a striped barong and a playful smirk. An arrow pointing at them says "Cherubino, mestizo de español, bakla". Barbarina is a Filipino person wearing a simpler baro't saya. An arrow pointing at them says "Barbarina, indio, tomboy". Antonio is a filipino man wearing a barong and holding a straw hat, facing the side. An arrow pointing at him says "Antonio, indio, better dad than bartolo imo".
Fourth is a closeup sketch of Bartolo and Marcellina. Bartolo is a spanish man with a frowny face wearing an ill fitting barong. An arrow pointing at him says "Dr. Bartolo, criollo, doesnt know how to wear a barong". Marcellina is a filipino chinese woman wearing an all black baro't saya. An arrow pointing at her says "Marcellina mestiza de sangley, knows math".
Fifth is a closeup sketch of Figaro and Susanna. Figaro is a mestizo man wearing a barong and who looks a lot like Marcellina. He is tilting his head and smiling slightly. An arrow pointing at him says "Figaro, mestizo???". Susanna is a filipino woman wearing a simple baro. She is smiling widely and leaning slightly on figaro. An arrow pointing at her says "Susanna, indio". /end ID]
OK SO THAT DONE. anyway i added hc's for race because thats how socioeconomic classification was done here during that time and these are stuff youd take notice of. Pls note that if you arent filipino, you cannot use indio. if you arent chinese filipino you cannot use sangley. Also cherubino and barbarina are bakla and tomboy (Filipino third genders) which is the best take ive ever done.
more under the cut on the idea and its implications during the Spanish colonial era
The Almavivas and Bartolo are part of the principales class of people, reserved for the peninsulares (born in spain) insulares/criollos (born in other spanish colonies). Rosina being a mestiza de español (filipino spanish) would have racial power and some money, plus a marriage to a Peninsulares would have elevated her status. I tried to give her a doña victorina (novel character who had internalized racism) vibe by making her cover up her brown skin on her face. i think Almaviva would be a part of the real audiencia or an encomiendero but be really shit at it.
Basilio is a dominican frayle which i hate also because they started my uni. The PH was sometimes more a frailocracy than an actual governed body, and the dominicans held a lot of power. Basically its don basilio but with way more power.
Marcellina is a mestiza de sangley (filipino chinese) and that put her below mestizos de español since chinese/sangley were near the bottom, even lower than the indio sometimes. While they had economic power they were social outcasts and seen lower as filipinos sometimes (which i think gives Susanna some reason for her anger in act 1 duet since it means theyre essentially the same strata). Just thoughts on thoughts om marcellina as a mestiza de sangley woman. i literally love marcellina i am projecting all my issues on being mestizo de sangley onto her. Bartolo is a senile doctor who cant do math. as an insulares he would have more power than rosina at first but not as much as almaviva.
CHERUBINO IS A BAKLA. That's a third gender that means anything from gay man to gay woman to effeminate straight man to non man to non woman. so. there. BARBARINA IS A TOMBOY. Which is a third gender (not the tomboy term of the USA) which means anything from gay man to gay woman to masculine straight woman to non man to non woman. a generalization would be effeminate non cishet man and masculine non cishet woman. Both these genders are not trans woman / trans man equivalents. Both are native filipino genders which both can reclaim. There is some conflict between a mestizo de español and an indio relationship but theyre kids so bye.
Antonio is not the drunkard in operas these days but the head farmer in the hacienda (plot of land where farmers work for food and lodging instead of money). Almaviva would have trusted him a lot in this case which would lead to some conflict as an indio.
FINALLY
Figaro is an mestizo/tornatras (filipino of spanish and chinese and filipino descent). Who knows what is in his blood (i tried to give that kind of loneliness that happens where youre so mixed youre just ostracized by everyone. hmm. anyway!). He looks like Marcellina and got his name after hearing about this opera playing somewhere in Manila and the main character having his own barbershop (META META META). Susanna is an indio/full blooded filipino and honestly she's the realest character here. feminism is an ongoing fight here but not so much as race so its intesresting how that will play out with Rosina. Also no droit de sagneur but it is mighty easy to take advantage of the servants in the philippines. just dont do it so much or else theyll revolt 👀. ALSO it gives a whole new meaning to sei tu mio servo o no because typical courtship would have the man serving in the woman's household before marrying. early filipino society had women in equal or elevated places and that continued in some filipino families. so she tops. im done.
