I love Ibara and Yuzuru so much. Obviously for all the deep reasons because I’m insane about their lore, but also in the very simple way that most of the stories they appear together in are either “ugh I hate this guy so much, why do I have to be near him? I’m going to kill him. He’s here to ruin everything” or they’re *hunts him down to pester him* *thinks about their joint past* *actively looks for him* *reflects on their bond* *tracks him down for entertainment* *psychoanalyses him in an internal monologue*

I’m replaying act 1 (for the fifth time) and when Gale is explaining his condition to you he mentions he’s “never told another living soul” about it, except for Tara. You’re telling me this man shut himself up in his tower for an entire year and didn’t tell anyone why and no one ever bothered to find out? He has so few people who care about him in his life that he fell into a depression and disappeared for a year and NO ONE thought to go and check on him and find out what was wrong? He’s had no one but Tara providing help and support until he meets Tav???????

I'm rewatching Finding Dory, and Hank is honestly a miracle of animation

#Finding Dory #n0t seri0us #I had a dream about it last night that was like... a sequel to finding dory #humans had left the earth in ships that looked like the titanic on a big cushion of water #and I guess water had risen and fish were living among the abandoned cities #except the humans were also coming back and were a threat somehow? and the humans were also trying to reintroduce species #and make something like a zoo or nature reserve #it was all so stressful (thanks sertaline)#on a biology note I do enjoy the fact that when he's in water #Hank mainly crawls around instead of swimming #irl when octopuses swim their main heart stops beating so they can't swim for long before they have to stop #also Hank you bullshitter you would have definitely been able to fit in the pipes lmao #the only real 'hard' part of an octopus is the beak and potentially the eyes #so I thibk he would have been able to fit lol #also fun fact an octopuses can asphyxiate in it's own ink if it inks in an enclosed container (e.g. if they're being transported somewhere)#it's one of the reasons why they're so difficult to transport #on top of their amazing escape abilities #it's something I always think about when Hank inks in the kidzone pool lol #also during this rewatch I was like 'octopuses have a venomous bite. hank could potentially bite the kids.' (not recommended)#octopuses have two saliva glands #one is in the buccal mass - the sack that contains the beak & radula #the other is er.... behind it I think? closer to the eyes? If I recall correctly that's the one responsible for the venom #anyway back to the film & a big shout out to Hank because he is one of two octopuses that kickstarted my obsession with the #*them #the other was octodad lol

i hate the bracelet storyline just because it makes me really sad for all parties involved but my god does it scratch all the characterisation itches in my brain. there’s nothing i enjoy more than thinking about what might happen post bracelet with james’s characterisation especially.

#i’ve been working on this one shot for over a year that’s basically a james character study #takes place over the course of a summer in idris #because i think his first time back in idris post tlh would be interesting to say the least #and i just love picking apart his character looking at all the little and big scars the bracelet left behind #and at how he navigates all that #and cordelia by extension of course #to me there is a lot to unpack there that i feel like chot didn’t quite manage to unpack #i was satisfied with his arc overall but james being my little guy means i always want more i fear #so i’m trying to write more for my own sake #tlh #james herondale

lays on the floor do you guys ever think about how in ResF Bulma falls for Vegeta's fake-out with Freeza and both she and Yamcha are worried about Vegeta's villain fake-out strategy in Champa and Beerus' mini tournament and how it's only been a couple of years since the Buu saga and how Vegeta straight up stopped using that strategy after that tournament

#i do #do you think he noticed it upset her twice in a row and was like 'oh I haven't earned the trust back yet i'll retire this strat'#'it's fun to scare people but i do not like my wife being scared we can put this one up on the shelf for emergencies only'#because like bulma can consciously trust him and I'm sure she does but one can still have The Fear if you've seen your spouse relapse befor #And he probably thinks it's very amusing but it is also almost certainly very not funny for her no matter how much she trusts him #and the next arc is Trunks and she's so worried about the way he left she ignored the PDA rules and squished him when she saw him alive #Because Geets determination can be self destructive when it comes to Bulma and Trunks and he killed himself to protect them once before #and knowing how connected they've been for so long some part of her probably Knew he would opt to stay behind and die like he was going to #And I love the idea that between those two events and all of the things Trunks tells him about Bulma during the GB arc Geets has to really #really be confronted with how loved he is -- and it's not that he wasn't aware before but knowing she even missed him at his worst #and loved him maybe even before she was pregnant -- means the cruel part of his mind can't make excuses for why she stayed with him #I also like to think that being confronted with the idea that Bulma is still scared for him getting his worst wires tripped #wouldn't be offensive to him. Knowing he's still got work to do if his wife is worried about those things happening to him again #is just proof that she loves him with his flaws and was still thinking about it and supporting his recovery when he didn't #even notice he was recovering -- which has always been true of her -- and now he has the chance to support her recovery in return #and being in a place where he can still put that work in to make her feel secure in his priorities is a privilege and a gift #and man I just really like how casually comfortably close they are in Super's manga I love them a lot they worked so hard #to make each other feel safe and secure for the past decade+ that it's Easy for them both now and they're SUCH a confident couple #and I am once again shaking the anime by the shoulders WHY didn't you give us that they are SO the team's Mom and Dad in the manga #until Goku riles Vegeta up -- then Piccolo is the team Dad. (he needs him). thinking about how ed could never truly heal until he left blackbeard behind. thinking about how blackbeard is really two people, not one. thinking about how izzy tells stede in season 1, “it’s my job is to make sure that edward is content”. how it’s been his purpose from the very beginning to protect edward, to help him be blackbeard, to be his right hand man. thinking about izzy saying “I wanna go”. thinking about all the meta from season 1 about ed keeping izzy in episode four on purpose, because he still needed him. thinking about izzy telling ed that he’s ready. ed is ready. (and it’s not just ed. izzy is ready too. I want to go. ed, I’m ready. I don’t need you anymore. I don’t need blackbeard anymore. you can let go). thinking about izzy looking up, seeing ed’s face, and softly saying “there he is”. (when was the last time izzy truly saw ed and felt at peace with it? when was the last time he didn’t search for something darker underneath? how soft were there faces then? how young, how unscarred was their skin?). thinking about izzy telling stede that he thinks he’s good for ed, that it took him a long time but that he sees it now. (he trusts stede now. he trusts him to take care of his eddie. he couldn’t trust him before, couldn’t see it, but he knows now. he knows he’ll be okay with stede). thinking about izzy using his last words to tell ed that he’s loved, that he’s surrounded by family. (you’re safe now. you’ll be safe without me. you’ll be safe without blackbeard). thinking about how blackbeard has always been a form of protection, of defense - now unneeded. but blackbeard was always two people knitted together. two scrappy boys in a costume, like a prey animal fluffed up to twice it’s size. a skin that can’t be shed without splitting them both apart. stitches that can’t be undone without bleeding.
