Steve was lying on the floor of Robin's room, his back against the wall as he let Robin paint his toenails while he flipped through one of her magazines. The radio played softly in the background.
"I am totally new to having a girlfriend, and by girlfriend, I mean platonic girlfriend," Robin said.
"Well, that's one thing we got in common, I don't think I've ever had a girl who's just a friend," Steve said.
"What about Perkins?" Robin asked.
"She doesn't count, I hated her. She's the reason Tommy became such an asshole," Steve said.
"Hm, yeah," Robin said and paused. "So, how close were you and Tommy?"
"Well, we were friends since we were eight. We pretty much bonded over the fact that we both had assholes for fathers. We shared everything and told each other everything. He told me about his first crush, and I told him about my first crush. We practiced kissing, practiced having sex, and when I got first kiss, I told him immediately," Steve said.
"Woah, woah, woah! Back it up!" Robin exclaimed, and she closed the nail polish. "What the fuck do you mean you practiced kissing and having sex with Tommy Hagan?"
"Exactly what it means," Steve said, rolling his eyes. "We hadn't gotten girlfriends yet, and we wanted to get good before we did. It doesn't mean anything. We like women, so it didn't count."
"It still counts!" Robin shrieked. "Did you or did you not put your lips on Tommy's?"
"Yeah, and I also let Tommy put his dick in my ass. I was basically his pillow," Steve said as he continued to casually flip through the magazine. "It doesn't count if you're not gay, Robin."
"It doesn't work like that! Steve Harrington, the first time you had sex was with Tommy Hagan!" Robin exclaimed.
"It was not!" Steve exclaimed, throwing down the magazine.
"Was too!" She yelled.
"Was not!" Steve yelled.
"Okay! So, let's say if I kissed you right now. . .," Robin said.
"Wouldn't count as your first kiss, you're a lesbian and I'm straight," Steve said.
Robin grinned, a manic look in her eye. She pulled her hand back and slapped Steve across the face. He screamed.
"Didn't count! I'm a lesbian and you're straight!" Robin yelled.
"Okay, okay, I see your point. Jesus, did you have to hit me so hard?" Steve asked, rubbing his red cheek.
"Yeah, dingus, I did," Robin said.
"Okay, so my first kiss was with Tommy, and I lost my virginity. We're not gay, though," Steve said.
"No, just desperate and very horny teenagers, apparently," Robin rolled her eyes. "I can't believe you had gay sex before me, and you're not even gay. I bet you pictured some blond with big boobies."
"Well, no, actually," Steve shrugged.
"Hm, what do you mean?" Robin asked.
"I didn't have to picture a woman. I liked it," Steve shrugged.
"You liked it?!" Robin asked.
"Well, I am a man, Robin," Steve said.
"Uh, except not every man likes it when another man rams it up his asshole," Robin said. "Okay, I kind of wish I had been more delicate about this, but I didn't know this was you being in denial kind of situation."
"I'm straight, Robin, I like women," Steve said.
"Yeah, and did you know that you can like men and women?" Robin asked.
"What?" Steve asked.
Robin smiled and got up to pull out a box from underneath her bed. She pulled out a magazine and tossed it at Steve.
"Read it, study it, learn from it," Robin said.
Steve looked at it quizzically for a moment before opening it. He stared at it for the longest time before finally closing it.
"I am an idiot," Steve said.
"No, you're not. You just didn't know," she said softly.
"Bisexual," Steve whispered, and then he pinched the bridge of his nose. "Oh my god, this whole time, I thought I lost my virginity to Chrissy Cunningham."
"Chrissy Cunningham?" Robin asked.
"Uh, we used to hang out all the time before she started dating Jason Carver," Steve said. "Our parents ran in the same circles."
"Well, you know, I guess you could say you lost your guy virginity to Tommy Hagan and your girl virginity to Chrissy Cunningham," Robin said.
"Yeah, that's true," Steve grinned. "Thanks, Robin, and especially thank you for giving me that slap. I definitely needed it."
"Anytime that you want me to hit you, I'm your woman," Robin replied.
They moved towards Robin's window sill and sat on it, opening a window to get some fresh air.
"You know this means that I'm not straight," Steve said.
"Something else we have in common," she said.
"You ever wonder how many out there who are like me and who just don't know?" he asked as he looked up at the moon. "Here in Hawkins, I mean."
"Probably a lot more than we think," Robin said. "And they're out there, sitting in their closets wondering if they're ever going escape themselves or be rescued."
"Isn't crazy how we found ourselves?" Steve said.
"Maybe queer people just end up finding each other," Robin said.
"Well, maybe they'll find their way out themselves," Steve said and then he looked her, hazel eyes twinkling in the moonlight. "Seriously, Robin, thank you."
"You did that yourself, you know, you just needed a nudge. I mean, you could have told me to go fuck myself and continued to live in denial," Robin said. "You're a lot smarter than you give yourself credit for."
Steve smiled bashfully and glanced back at the moon. He looked at her, with tears in his eyes.
"Is it possible to be platonically in love with someone?" he asked.
"I think anything is possible," she said. "I think it's a definite because I know that I'm absolutely, platonically in love with you."
They dangled their feet out the window and leaned against each other, Steve resting his head on top of Robin's.
"I wish I'd known you sooner," he whispered.
"I wish I'd known you sooner, too," she whispered back.
They were here now, though, and absolutely nothing could get in between them.

You are really making me appreciate gay!Harry! I know its not present in all you stories but I usually only wanted to see BiHarry and now Im finding new ways to look at Harry and how "easy" ( aka believable to me) a gay interpretation can be. Like Harry has nearly all his most emotionally charged/complex relationships with men, his canon love interests are underexplored without much screen time and generic (into his sport + hot like everyone at school points out), combined with Harrys denial of the safe heternormative family he would've had, I can see how would amplify internalized heteronormativity. I guess some of this is just a byproduct of a male centered narrative about teenagers but still interesting to explore in fics =)
I'm glad. Bi!Harry is great. He certainly seems to think he's attracted to girls in canon, so if you want to keep that but also write him with boys, then I can see how he would identify as bisexual. I also think bisexual representation is really important, since bi identities often get erased, especially if they settle down with someone.
But while I've written bi!Harry a time or two, I'm afraid I mostly see him as gay, gay, gay. I think it has to do with the way his attraction to women is written in canon; his feelings about Ginny come out of nowhere--no. That's not exactly true. His feelings for Ginny come out of watching Dean and Ginny kiss, which might mean he wants to kiss Ginny. It also might just mean he wants to kiss. And maybe it's specifically watching Dean with Ginny that gets him hot. Anyway, I actually like that scene, since it gives us the monster in Harry's chest, but everything after that feels really passionless.
And just because a guy has a passionless relationship with a girl doesn't mean he's gay! But Harry also seemed pretty passionless with Cho, and he's not passionless around Draco or Sirius or Snape. I mean, it makes sense that Harry is going to have strong feelings about a bully who tortures him, a long lost godfather who loves him, or a teacher who abuses him. But the fact that he does have chemistry with those guys and doesn't with his girlfriend does make me more interested in seeing him in relationships with men.
But yeah, a lot of it has to do with what you're saying about internalized heteronormativity. All Harry seems to want is a family and place to call home, which you see in his feelings for the Weasleys and the Burrow, in his feelings for Hogwarts and Dumbledore, his feelings for Sirius. The boy lived in a cupboard surrounded by people who hated him and told him he was worthless; he sees these other people with loving families and homes, and of course he wants that. And because of the way the world is, of course he thinks you have to a marry a girl just like his father did, have kids, and live in a magic house with a picket fence.
It's a case of compulsive heterosexuality if I've ever seen one. Bisexuality is still a complete rejection of comp het, but I love the idea of Harry realizing that what he thought was attraction to girls was comp het all along.

What i think the squid game character's sexuality are:
1. Thanos: Bisexual
To be honest i feel like he could also be pansexual because i don't think he would care who he dates as long as they're hot and match his freak 🤷🏻♂️
2. Nam-Gyu: Gay
Idk man do I really need to elaborate further-more..?
3. Se-mi: Lesbian
This is just the same like Nam-Gyu, i can't really explain it but in what world do u see Se-mi and think "oh yeah she's straight" ? 😬
4. Gi-Hun: Bisexual
The tension he had with In-Ho and Sang-woo made me believe that this man is NOT straight. He's literally pulling all of the toxic man in the series 🔥😹
5. Sang-woo: Gay
Speaking of Gi-Hun..., Sang-woo is definitely gay bro, HOW DID HE NOT HAVE A GIRLFRIEND WHILE HAVING THAT FACE CARD? Also the tension with him and Gi-Hun?? Homosexuals. I feel like whenever people ask his sexuality he'll reply with "I'm straight" but deep down in his hearts... 👨❤️👨
6. In-Ho/Frontman: Bisexual
I don't understand why alot of people say he's gay when he LITERALLY HAD A WIFE??? He's definitely the same as Sang-woo, saying that he's straight, but unlike Sang-woo i think he would just say that he's straight because he doesn't want people to ask a million questions, not because of denial 🗣️
7. Dae-Ho: Straight
I haven't seen any signs of homosexualness from him in the series so I'm just gonna say he's straight. I've seen people ship him with Myung-Gi/Mg Coin and I don't really mind the ship but I don't think that would really fit his character (i do love the funny edits of them though 😋)
8. Hyun-Ju: Bisexual
Is it just me or am i seeing ALOT of bisexuals here..... , anyways she's definitely Bi, the characters that she get shipped with the most is literally Gyeong-Seok/246 and Young-Mi 😭. Personally i like 246 x 120 more because i see her and Young-Mi's relationship as big sis and lil sis, but I don't hate any of the ships. Also idk i feel like she gives Bisexual energy so bad 🙏🏻
9. Min-Su/125: ???
I ACTUALLY don't know his sexuality, like I can't figure it out. Genuinely. Many people hc him as gay but i don't think he only likes men, but i don't think he only likes women either. But i also don't think he's bisexual... SOMEONE HELP ME IN THE COMMENTS I CAN'T FIGURE HIM OUT 💔💔
10. Sae-Byeok: Lesbian
Genuinely, do i NEED to explain this???? Have u seen her with Ji-Yeong????? Idk what to say other then i miss her, she's in lesbian with Ji-Yeong and she's so hot 💕
11. Ji-Yeong: Lesbian
Speaking of Sae-Byeok! Her girlfriend are heree 💓💓💓, yeah no she's gay 10000%. I feel like we should've gotten more of her tbh, i feel like no one even remembers her backstory and her backstory ARE SO FUCKING SAD. Everytime anyone mentions her, it's always gotta be with Sae-Byeok. People don't really care about her character if Sae-Byeok is not involved 🫠
12. Ali Abdul: Straight
OKAY ALIWOO SHIPPERS PLEASE DON'T COME AT ME FOR THIS ONE 🙁🙁🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻, but like personally i always see Ali and Sang-woo as like big bro and lil bro, or just a platonic friendship. NOW LET ME REPEAT, I DON'T HATE THE ALIWOO SHIP, I JUST DONT SHIP IT. Also i miss Ali #bringbackmyman 😖
______________________________________________
Okay i think that's all of the characters that I remember from the top of my head, comment if i forgot any important characters 😋

The Problem Of Holmes/Watson is that, as much as I love them together, I don’t think you can write a canon-compliant adaptation that makes the queerness explicit that also involves them being together during the events of the canon. In fact, I sort of think that Watson being oblivious to his own bisexuality and his attraction to Holmes is vital to why the events of the canon happen the way they do. I love stories where they’re together, just want to make that clear, but if I’m looking for canon-compliant adaptations I unfortunately think that you have to acknowledge that these two men are defined by their yearning.
Watson meets Stamford outside of a known Victorian gay bar. They don’t go in, but they are chatting outside, and it’s a place they’re both familiar with, and Stamford then introduces Watson to a loudly, boldly flamboyant man who is all too happy to move in with him and broadly hints that he’s a strange weirdo - and his overtures are met with “sure! Let’s do it”. I think he was about as out as he could be in STUD, and that continues through to SIGN, where he’s bitter and furious at Watson for unknown reasons (I interpret this as “I’ve been trying to get into your bed for ages”) and he escalates his drug use specifically to get his flatmate’s attention. That’s toxic behavior, sure, but it’s easily read as deeply homosexual. Watson, exasperated by Holmes for reasons he can’t really name, then chooses Mary, leaves with her.
They have to put their friendship back together, but Mary encourages Watson to spend time with Holmes and Holmes almost has the man he loves, almost gets what he wants. (I think it’s notable that SCAN comes after SIGN; Holmes’s disinterest in Irene and forgiveness of Watson are both significant here.) They become nearly inseparable but also deeply incapable of clear communication - they are English, after all.
FINA/EMPT mark a point where Watson steps away from heteronormativity. It’s not uncommon for young men to room together at this point historically; it’s unusual for men in middle-age to move back in together after a bereavement. I think Holmes assumed, at this point, that even if they weren’t saying anything and they weren’t having sex, they were Together in some way. They leave London together during Wilde’s trial. Holmes sheds his cocaine addiction and becomes calmer, happier, more spiritually grounded. His more clearly queercoded clients are all pre-FINA but there are still queercoded stories post-EMPT, and he takes up space in them comfortably.
I’m a “Watson had two wives” truther. I think his second marriage destroyed their friendship, again. I think (based on his second wife’s coldness and her difference from Mary - she wants Watson at home with her more rather than shoving him out the door) that she was aware of how things looked, and that Watson was deeply in denial. I think he turned to women and marriage when he was lonely and horny and wanted romantic/sexual companionship; I think he loved Holmes but didn’t know what that meant.
And I think 3GAR scared him. I tend to borrow from Bert Coules’s work in the BBC4 audio drama here, pairing 3GAR and Watson’s realization of the depths of Holmes’s love with his desire for romantic companionship, but where Coules has Watson already deciding to marry I think it was his terror at his emotions suddenly flaring up around Holmes that propelled him back into heteronormativity. We know when Holmes retired to Sussex it was alone, at least for a while. We don’t know if they reconciled truly. That burns me and I love it and I hate it but I can’t ignore it.
Ultimately the thing I find compelling about them is the missed connection of it all. They were meant to be together forever and social constraints prevented that. They love each other but never say so clearly. They’re scared of what it means and they constantly think about each other in deeply horny ways. They dance around queer culture and never say why they’re drawn to it. And it’s messy, and complicated, and unsatisfying, and I won’t ever be able to write it for that reason.

im curious why you hc spain as bisexual only because of his marriage with austria. he's only expressed interest in men, wouldn't that make him gay?
Sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem like he's only EVER been with a man because of his marriage to Austria😅. I just wanted to write a solid reason to be like "hey, he's into dudes too!" I kinda just imagined him as bisexual by default, though maybe that's because I'm also bi so sorry for being a bit biased. But now that I'm thinking about him more, he hangs around a LOT of dudes lol. So maybe he is gay/more attracted to men.
Also I didn't mean to say that Austria hates being queer. I meant it in like a joking "Yeah, I was literally married to a man, but that doesn't mean anything" (it does). I just see him as someone who isn't really concerned with putting a label on his sexuality. Like he's queer in all but name.
And also I feel like a lot of nation marriages are very political, since it's literally about political entities uniting. Though I don't doubt that Austria loved Spain and Hungary or all the other's he's gotten with.
Also I just want to add that I think some of the nations are unlabeled because of pressure from their regimes and also a bit of denial. Like some of them know who they are and who they love, but admitting to that is a very hard thing to do sometimes, especially since they're already faced with a lot pf public scrutiny as is.
So sorry to any spaus fans or just fans of Spain and Austria if I messed up! I'm not super familiar with these characters, so I just went off of my own personal thoughts.

thoughts on bi!stefan?
ooh okay so. i think stefan is more heteroflexible as opposed to bisexual — klaus is THE exception to his heterosexuality. well, the only one he’ll admit.
stefan’s been attracted to two men in the last 100 years — klaus, and (drumroll please)
…matt donovan.
yes, matt donovan. simple, painfully human, boy-next-door, average-in-every-way, small town jock matt donovan.
anyways, enough of that!!
as a ripper, he definitely has sex with men as well as women - not because he’s attracted to them, but because he gets a little power kick out of it. in non ripper mode, he‘s all about repression and denial (“damon’s the queer sibling, not me!” / “i’m normal straight. not that there’s anything wrong with gay people or anything, i’m not a homophobe!” he’s a product of his 1800s upbringing, he tries to accept everyone but as much as i hate to say it, he’s 100% giuseppe’s son*).
i think, when he’s got his humanity on & is starving himself and all that, any attraction to dudes (which isn’t often) is a reminder of the Dark Days™️ and he doesn’t really know what to do with all of that.
i don’t see stefan as bi, purely because i can’t see him being attracted to men as a human. but it’s not a hill i’m gonna die on — stefan’s sexuality isn’t as important to his character as damon’s is, imo.
(* giuseppe’s method of punishment (aside from beatings & burnings) was locking damon in the cellar without dinner. sound familiar? sort of like stefan’s method of punishing himself (and damon, and elena, and alaric) for any deviance / the mildest indulgence. the classic dungeon time out.
especially since, by design, vampirism is an allegory for sexuality / hedonism. so thematically, stefan is the personification of internalised homophobia & projection.)

Leon Kennedy headcanons because he has infected my little homosexual monkey brain like the plague

- Bites the skin on his lower lip as a habit and picks at it mindlessly
- Like he won’t even realize his lip is bleeding
- Leon has sharp canine teeth and is constantly accidentally biting his tongue, the inside of his lip, and the inside of his cheeks like, exceptionally hard (almost always has a small open wound in his mouth, lots of scars)
- Prefers plain mint gum over spearmint gum, usually only chews sugar free gum as well
- Super flexible (which is canon tbh) and he loves doing stretches
- He sleeps and sits in strange positions because of his flexibility so things that are super comfy for him might be damn near impossible for others to do
- (slight chreon) Chris has definitely gotten distracted by Leon stretching because goddamn why he is so flexible???
- Leon prefers thicker soups over thinner ones
- The least picky eater imaginable oh my god he’ll literally eat nearly anything if you tell him it’s edible I stg
- (RE2 Leon and a bit of RE4) A little insecure about his babyface, like if he walked into a bar he would definitely get carded and he’s just kinda like “man :(“
- Used to be a dog person but now he’s kinda afraid of them due to the trauma he has with dog B.O.W.s
- Leon is often compared to a cat by Chris (he thinks the man is very cat-like, especially with how he likes to sit/sleep and his personality)
- Doesn’t smoke but has hit a younger coworkers vape once and his eyes teared up from him trying to hold in his coughing (he liked the flavour though, it was strawberry kiwi ice)
- Prefers pistols and close-combat weapons (such as his knife) over semiautomatic weapons
- Leon is autistic. That’s all I have to say about that
- Violently bisexual but in denial about liking men (he’s already bad with women, he doesn’t wanna think about how it’d go with men 💀)
- Like to sit in ways that stretch out his legs, likes to stand/lean against walls so he can stretch his legs. He takes up a lot of room because of this but he will move if needed
- The only reason he’s still allowed to have his license is because he works for the government
- Usually though the government will provide him transportation for everyone’s safety
- Can only cook really simple meals and can never eat/deal with meat a few days after a particularly rough mission
- He more often than not has nightmares and is an extremely light sleeper
- Leon really doesn’t get a lot of sleep and has to resort to sleep pills fairly often
- His one-liners and jokes keep him grounded as he does missions
- It’s also why he prefers to wear fingerless gloves! The gloves protect his palms but being able to feel things directly to his fingers can be helpful in keeping him grounded and focused on the mission
- HATES insects and will kill them but will gently take spiders out of the room and outside with the cup and paper trick
- If he’s drinking to relax he’ll have a fruity cocktail or something sweet but if he’s drinking to forget/cope he’ll choose something that’ll burn his throat going down
I have way more so I’ll probably make another list at some point <3

Do you think cyn knew/suspected that john is either bi/gay/queer ect? If yes, was it while they were together, after the divorce or years after John's death?
I don't think Consciously, no. I'm fairly sure she called him "100% heterosexual" in one of her books & insisted he was horrified by homosexuality. more than anything that indicates some denial to me, but also generally they just... didn't spend a lot of time together. and in the early days of their relationship, john probably solidified her view of him like that by doing shit like beating bob wooler half to death for implying he was queer. and I think in cyn's cishet "raised in the 40s/50s" pov, she saw that as 100% proof that he was straight and hated homosexuality rather than how pretty much most people now agree was him battling w internalized homo/biphobia.
I think she Probably had moments where she went "uh. hm," during their marriage and while he was still alive, but I honestly would guess she just shoved that thought/suspicion down as quickly as possible. I mean, hell, she says she had no idea or even suspicion that he was cheating with her on WOMEN on tour. which as much as I do love cyn, shows a huge amount of like. denial when faced with the uncomfortable. and the prospect of him being queer or even having affairs w other men/being in love w them would be like 100x more uncomfortable and denial worthy than him cheating with women
and I think she just doubled down on that belief & denial once he died & people started speculating more and more on his sexuality. I think, for her, based on interviews of hers I've read/listened to and her books, she WANTED to be the person that knew john better than anyone else. she very much has this narrative of like. he was his True Real Self around her that even the other bugs didn't see & that he loved her more than anyone until yoko came along & changed him. and I think knowing That, it would understandably sting if she thought he kept something that fucking big from her. of course, she is sadly sort of overestimating her own importance in his life after fame. but I think she sort of... knew that. and so insisting that he was straight and was closer to her than anyone ever is just a way of coping
and none of this is to shit on her btw. I just think cyn purposefully ignored and denied a lot of john's flaws to not break under the way he disregarded her & really never looked back after they split. and for her that Would include homo/bisexuality

on the theme of queerbaiting and hannibal i have OPINIONS and idk how well ill be able to express them on writing and in english but here we go
i get why some call it queerbaiting, and, although, i myself consider it canon, HEAR ME OUT
I'm going first to put the example of a real life artist, yoongi, from bts, this guy has consistently answered to questions like "what's your ideal woman" by saying "a person like...." or even saying things like "the gender doesnt matter much to me, it's the personality.....", has lyrics on his songs like "either a girl or a guy I'll make you come with my tongue....", and even said on a radio show years ago that he liked "the macho type" in guys, but he is still not considered queer by the general audience, he is not queer, except to queer fans like myself, bc we see that and obviously that means the man is not straight but to the general public, to the straight public he never said explicitly that he is gay, bisexual, pansexual, queer, anything so he is "not gay".
because the thing about queer identities is that they will be denied as long as there is the slimmest chance to do it, as long as there is not a direct rotund answer.
that happens with hannibal, it doesnt matter how obvious is, because there isn't an explicit acceptance or declaration of queerness and there isn't an explicit kiss or sex scene or confession between will and hannibal.
and that is something that we do not realise as much because of the niche audience it has, but if this show blew up, and its audience reached a more general audience we would see the denial of hannigram everywhere.
because even on the "is hannibal in love with me?" we do not get a rotund yes, we get a metaphora, a rephrasal, a reinterpretation, that can be interpreted as platonic. as a platonic obsession.
because even when both actors wanted a kiss it didnt happen it stayed platonic
and what confirmed for me this idea was the treatment of margot and alana's relationship.
we have a show, about the fbi, about a serial killer about violence (traditionally directed to men) protagonized by two very attractive men (usually done to attract a women audience), that plays onto queer topics spectacularly and has a blatantly obvious queer story (for queer people) but it's not a romance, and they never explicitly portray both men as queer, the only (explicit) relationships they are shown having is with other women (therefore not risking the lose of interest or hate from a straight audience that wants to be/men the protagonist or desires them/women) but the moment they introduce a lesbian couple we dont even see how they get together, we barely see anything about them as a couple but we do have a sex scene, wich would be something liked by a straight men audience, ignored by a straight women audience, and liked by a queer audience (confirming the queerness of the show) but without risking the proclaim of the two protagonists.
I hope this makes sense, and I know what fuller says and that the man just need a bit of cheering to write and post hannigram porn on his social media but honestly for me, what a creator, producer or actor post on their socials do not count bc it's not on the show, and again it allows deniability, it isn't canon
most of this is basically how I see the show translates onto a publicity and commercial sense, I myself consider hannigram as completely canon but still I'll always say that not putting a kiss on screen had nothing to do with the purity of the bond, or the complexity of their relationship and more to do with its marketing and the possibility of losing audience over it.
although in the end the audience of this show is the queerest I've seen hajfjdbnrnf

Some time ago I said I would make a post about my opinion on various of the kuro characters' stance on the LGBTQA+ community so here It comes i guess. Gonna be a pretty long post I suppose.
Starting off with what may be a hot take: o!Ciel ain't homophobic or transphobic or anything. Yana may write him like that, but I feel like that's her problem and not his. It makes basically no sense with his character. He's just a dude trying to live his life and he canonically doesn't judge people for going against what society thinks should be the "norm" (His speech defending Snake in the Campania arc, to name one instance). He HIMSELF doesn't really follow the "norm" of a noble of that time period (Treats his human servants (so not Sebastian) like actual human beings and even family, doesn't seem to go to church or leave his house for fun much, hates socializing and going to parties). I personally even read him as aroace!
Plus he canonically read (or was at least knowledgeable about) Carmilla, wich I never read but from what I hear was gay Dracula before Dracula was invented.
That said, in modern era he WOULD make gay funtom merchandise for pride month only for the profit and not to stand by the gays. Not because he's homophobic, he just doesn't care about being so public in his support for the community if not for that sweet, sweet money. Tiny capitalist child. Awful little man.
Now, if you want to blame a Phantomhive for being homophobic...that's R!Ciel. An actually alive, not bizarre doll R!Ciel could be convinced of the LGBTQA+ community not being bad IF (and only if) his brother was a part of it and o!Ciel slowly educated him on what not to say or think. Like not even the knowledge that his father is the most bisexual person alive would convince him, he'd just live in denial. But we know that o!Ciel is sacred for him. "If brother says this, then it's the truth."
Bizarre doll R!Ciel is like those mums that go "I'm fine with gay people I just think that [insert extremely homophobic statement here]". He also says stuff like "The A in the LGBTQA+ community stands for Ally :)"
Lizzie is very nice and openly supportive, but WILL get sometimes flustered in front of two gay people being gay. She will also sometimes stumble and say something bad by mistake, but she immediately corrects her behavior as soon as she's explained that what she said wasn't right.
Tanaka? Complete Ally. No boomer behavior from the Grandpa ever.
Mei Rin? Ally. She is also a total lesbian who just hasn't come to terms with it yet, though. So for now she just says she's an Ally and moves on.
Finny is also an Ally who just doesn't get he's part of the community yet. He's aroace and doesn't know it.
Bard says he's an Ally, but the fact is that the only gay person he doesn't support is himself. Had his bi awakening after working with Sebastian at the Manor but denies it to himself like o!Ciel denies himself love and happiness.
Speaking of Sebastian, he's a very homophobic gay being. Not with himself. He knows he ain't straight and isn't upset about it. But if another person drops hints that they are, he's mad about it and WONT support them. Unless it's Agni. If it's Agni, he's EXTREMELY happy about it...
Agni is either Bi or a complete Ally.
Soma is the token straight friend. He's a complete Ally tho. Doesn't even hesitate. "Oh you're into men? That's cool! I'm into curry :)"
William is aroace and okay with that but he's also homophobic and transphobic.
Ronald is either Bi or another "token straight, ally friend"
Bonus: more sexuality headcanons!
Undertaker gives me big homosexual vibes but I also believe in the theory that him and Claudia had a thing, so I'll say pan.
Sieglinde is a lesbian. Had her first girl crush on Lizzie.
Grelle is obviously and canonically a trans woman and proud but imo she STILL needs to understand that men aren't her thing. Women are. She's in denial.
Also headcanon that in a modern era she would fucking hate the trans flag colours bc there's no deep red in it wich means she doesn't know how to incorporate it with her aesthetic.
Othello is ace. Idk if he's aro too or at least into women, but he's ace.
Alois is only into guys but also ace. @weeb-cheese showed me the light when they said he looked aroace to them. I can't completely buy the aro part but i am 100% sold on him being ace.

miscellaneous adam headcanons
adam is left-handed naturally, but has learned to be ambidextrous.
adam's longest standing long-term relationship is with eve. he's had a lot of trouble holding relationships that aren't wholly casual.
speaking of his relationship with eve: he LOVED that woman. still does. he and lilith were made for each other, yes -- but it felt. different. with eve. adam doesn't really know how to describe it. he knows he loved lilith from the beginning because he was MADE to do just that ;; but he actually had the time to fall for eve. he doesn't know that he'll ever be able to get over lilith, but by all means, eve was the love of his life. not that he'll ever SAY any of that.
he has a guitar collection! the one that doubles as a holy weapon is his pride and joy ( he loves that thing more than he does most people ) but he takes very good care of all of them.
i've talked about this before but he HATES people seeing his face. if ever you want to piss him off, trying to take off his helmet without his permission is the easiest way to do so. the mask stays ON during sex.
he is SO cold, all the time. his robes are made of thicker material -- but even outside of that, he usually wears warmer clothing. he likes to cover up.
even so, his fashion sense ( outside of work ) consists of leather jackets decorated with spikes, ripped jeans ( usually with leggings on underneath, ) big combat boots, and things of the like. he also has ear piercings and owns quite a bit of jewelry, though he doesn't often wear it.
for a soul as ancient as his, adam is SHOCKINGLY up-to-date with modern technology, slang, etc. he's not TOTALLY caught up with it all, but he's close enough.
he goes on dates and goes in and out of relationships and sleeps around, but lute is genuinely, genuinely the only person adam's actually connected with in SUCH a long time. their whole situationship is strange and adam is in no rush to start putting labels on it, but she is his #1.
adam is somewhere around 9ft tall, and has a crazy wingspan to match. aside from warmth and general comfort, the sheer size of his wings is why he usually keeps them tucked away at his sides rather than exposed at his back.
he has a weirdly high pain tolerance for someone that hasn't actually FELT pain in millenia.
though the guitar is his instrument of choice, he can play a large variety of instruments! generally, he has an affinity for those of the stringed variety.
adam has dyscalculia. that's it that's the headcanon.
adam is bisexual ( and has a preference for women/fem presenting people, ) but he's been in denial about it for literally as long as he's existed. he's slept with men, he's dated men, etc etc, but if asked, all you'll get from him is yeah obviously i'm straight wdym. i was just curious. mind your business.

bi mike truther here to give my two cents !! (yes this is a very old topic BUT I WASNT HERE THEN OKAY)
also this is really just rebutting what other people say, i make a couple points on why i think he's bi, but i don't really want to go scene by scene.
okay so i know people say that it feels untrue to his character to be bi because its a cop out. mike can't be bi because it disproves that he "can't" be in love with el because he only loves boys.
that was a really bad explanation so here are some posts i think explain gay mike much better than i can:
BUGSBENEFIT
LESBIAN MINDFLAYER
I REALLY LIKE THESE VIDEOS AND LOWKEY AGREE WITH THEM AND THE PEOPLE ARE AWESOME NO HATE WHATSOEVER
so. onto my take.
i see a lot of people say that mike can't be bi and then immediately jump the hoop of mike being in love with el.
so let me state now: mike being bi ≠ mike being in love with el
in fact, mike being bi gives a lot of nuance to his character: why he is SO in denial about being gay-- logically he does have feelings for a girl, but perhaps he doesn't love EL the way he loves WILL, confusing him. to me that puts a lot of scenes like we're friends we're friends, triple take, et cetera in perspective
looking at mike's character arc it feels more likely he's confused HENCE weird flirting dynamics rather than just in denial.
mike's not stupid! imagine looking at women (AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND) and feeling nothing and then looking at men (plural because i am also an eddie puppy crush truther) and feeling BUTTERFLYS.
are you crazy??? mike would be SO DEEP IN DENIAL, he would be avoiding WILL, he would be ignoring him HE WOULD NOT BE AWKWARD HUGGING HIM JUST TO THEN START FLIRTING WITH HIM he would not be hot and cold he would just be cold.
THAT'S what makes me really mad, people acting as if bisexual people are just in love with everyone. mike has been shown not to like el romantically at all, so it doesn't matter if he's bi, gay or anything else!
also robin wasn't even directly said to be lesbian, they didn't come out and go "i like women and only women." now i'm not saying robin isn't lesbian, but that is still an assumption we made based on the situation.
steve says he likes her -> robin rejects him and says she likes women
that is her reasoning. if she was bi, she would've said that she just doesn't like him, not that she can't.
my point being: the duffer brothers are not going to have mike explicitly say he's bi or gay. in this particular context, his love for will matters and i seriously doubt they're going to dive into his character arc and figuring out his sexuality (though i would love that, i'd rather leave it to fanfic writers lol)
and my most important reasoning: i'm bi. and i see myself in mike. and i want him to be bi.
art is made to be interpreted <3

1 and 2 for andrew + jonathan
1. What's your oc's gender identity? What's their relationship to their gender?
Andrew: He’s a cisgender man. If somebody asked him what his relationship to his gender is he’d be extremely confused and only be able to answer with a very puzzled “it… it’s mine?” because he doesn’t know what else to say. He’s pretty neutral about it, doesn’t love it, doesn’t hate it, it’s just what he’s always been.
Johnathan: he’s also just a Cis dude. He hasn’t thought much about his gender, he was raised to be a traditional “man” and while he still feels perfectly comfortable as a man, as he’s gotten older and away from his family he’s been able to see that the way he was raised was kind of stupid and he doesn’t need to hold himself to strict standards of masculinity to be a “real” man.
2. What's your oc's orientation? (Romantic/sexual/platonic alterous ect) Do they have opinions about it?
Andrew: He’s probably bisexual. But he says he’s straight. He’s the kind of person to go “we’ve all done things with the same gender” while his wife is like “I can assure you we have all not”. He doesn’t have many opinions about it but his wife supports her bisexual husband who’s in denial-
Johnathan: He’s gay! Gay gay homosexual gay. He wouldn’t say he has many opinions about it, he likes men, he likes that he likes men, I haven’t developed his relationships outside of his family very much but I can see him having a long term partner, just waiting for the right time to get married. His parents aren’t necessarily homophobic but his family is still not invited to the wedding.
#oc stuff#Andrew#Johnathan#THESE TWO.#I love them.#Johnathan is far away from the events of the story living his best life with his boyfriend#Andrew isn’t necessarily in denial he’s just kind of stupid and too busy with other things to worry about it#Andrew taking the relationship to gender question literally and being like#‘I. i don’t know. I guess we’re friends???’#anonymous

As pride month comes to a close, I feel a sense of solace being able to connect with a community who has accepted me long before I learned to accept myself.
I have visceral memories of struggling with religious trauma regarding my love for both men and women. I hated myself. I felt that I was broken, dirty, and wrong. I forced myself deeper into toxic Christian spaces lead by people who made me feel terrible about myself and bullied me. And during a lunch period, when I saw my bullies hold my hand, singing praises of loving others after talking down to me for hours prior, something in me snapped.
I remember storming out into the quad and being offered company by the LGTBQ* club. They danced with me and wiped my tears away. From then on I had claimed myself an ally. I devoted my time to study queer history and learn who paved the way for us. I stayed in denial of my bisexuality to protect myself out of fear- imposing people and their “pick one and stick with it” ideology- the ideology my parents shared, as well as the invasive exes who fetishized “girl on girl” content behind my backs.
In the present day having the ability to acknowledge my sexuality has never felt more freeing. Being able to read other experiences and listen to all my fellow LGBTQIA+ people and their experiences helped me learn that I wasn’t wrong. I wasn’t bad, I wasn’t a terrible person. That my heart, my passion was a part of who I was. As for God and I…. That’s between god and I. I do not owe anyone else in a church (which I haven’t stepped in almost fifteen years) or even my own family any inkling of my true idenity. The love of my life knows, and he respects me for who I am. I am overwhelmed with support by my dear friends both in person and online.
And for this reason I will continue to fight. I will return the same fervor and passion to my fellow trans and non-binary community members. I will fight for you. I will open my arms, listen to you, and be there for you any step of the way I can. You have me, always. Fuck what anyone else says. You’ve got an ancient bisexual vampire on your side who’s got years of closeted rage.
I love you all. Happy pride ❣️

Do you think bisexuality is a lot more common than we think or are a lot of people online who claim to be bisexual just straight? What percentage of population do you think might actually be bisexual?
What percentage of the population do you think might actually be bisexual | do you think bisexuality is a lot more common than we think?
I think it's difficult to definitively say what percentage of the population is bisexual for a few different reasons (I have COVID at the moment - hope this makes sense!):
Firstly, how we identify our innate sexual orientation may be influenced by our socio-cultural context. We live in a homophobic and biphobic world; gay, lesbian, and bisexual people can be pressured into self-denial, misindentification, or intentionally keeping our orientations hidden out of fear of ostracism, discrimination/persecution, and/or the risk to our social networks. For bisexual people specifically, we may also find it difficult to 'pin down' our sexuality when society tells us it must be one or the other.
Secondly, whether we correctly identify our innate sexual orientation may be influenced by our habits. I'm not sure if you saw the Discord chat earlier, but I think there's a type of heterosexual man who is sexually aroused by the idea of 'being the woman' in a same-sex relationship - he's not attracted to the same sex, but he'll have sex with them because he's after the fantasy of 'being' his internal woman ("pseudo-bisexuality," but I truly hate the term - call it fetishistic heterosexuality!). Similarly, I think there's a type of heterosexual woman who is sexually aroused by 'lesbian porn' (I shudder to call it that) - she's not sexually aroused by the same sex, she's just images that aren't violent, degrading, or super uncomfortable to look at. (I also think it's important that heterosexual men may engage in same-sex activity for a variety of 'leisure' reasons, but they won't really watch 'gay porn;' women may watch 'lesbian porn' for a variety of different reasons, but they won't really engage in same-sex activity 'for leisure' ((they may do it for money, out of coercion by their bfs, but they won't do it to validate an internal idea of themselves))
Thirdly, I think social media can encourage people to misidentify their sexuality. There are a number of people who are exclusively sexually attracted to the opposite sex, but they may mistake a desire for emotional intimacy with a desire for sexual intimacy (particularly if they're young, sexually inexperienced, and terminally online!) (or there are people who identify as gay/lesbian but might actually be bisexual).
Finally, I think the number of bisexuals probably seems a lot higher online than it actually is.
I personally think the number of bisexual adults could be a little higher than the estimated 1-3% of the population, but who knows? Patriarchy, pornography, and heterosexism feel like insurmountable hurdles.
Are a lot of people online who claim to be bisexual just straight?
In my experience, every single 'pansexual' person I've met online or in my life has been heterosexual woman with a strong preference for female friendships. I think it's because of the aforementioned reason 3 - young, inexperienced, and terminally online (and maybe a touch of 'insecure and being LGBT will make me cool!').
I hope that answers your question? I know 'it depends' isn't a very satisfying answer but it's hard to tell and I'm inherently suspiscious of the sudden, drastic rise in the number of LGB young people (at the same time that porn is becoming more accessible, attitudes to women are getting worse, and gender roles seem to be getting stricter).
