⋆ Ace is so so so sick of it. Like Grim, seeing you be all mushy with his dorm leader makes him want to pluck his eyes out. He’s all like, ‘C’mon! Riddle? That short fu-’ and Deuce has to stop him before you could jump him. Ace is truly confused in what you see in him. And he swears his ears bleed whenever you start on your rant about Riddle. He didn’t think anyone could be this down bad for someone, besides Sebek.

⋆ Deuce finds it admirable about how much you care about Riddle. Sure he does get a little annoyed when you decide to start talking about Riddle when you said you’d help him study or when you immediately dash towards Riddle when you’re supposed to be helping him with your alchemy assignment, but other than that he doesn’t really have anything against it. Just please, don’t go running off when you’re doing a very time-sensitive potion again. He does not want to deal with a giant radish baby again.

RIP Piper the Cat, 2006-2024

Life details below

This is the first cat that I've been the one to care for that has died, and the first cat in general I'd been around for the death of. She died simply from old age, so she wasn't in distress at the end, just getting sleepy and slow. She had been quickly deteriorating for several days and had stopped eating (I have been crying SOOO much) and we finally called the mobile vet so she could be put to sleep, and she went peacefully at home in my arms. These last few days she got to enjoy lots of outside time in the summer sun lying in the cool grass- all off her leash too since her mobility was so reduced. She got to be around a bunch of our friends all weekend too- she loved to be near everyone.

We got her 10 years ago when we had a "friend" move in - he had been neglecting her badly (I was SO PISSED at him!!) so when he left we kept her. She was underweight and had permanent nerve damage in her ears from untreated ear mites, as well as kidney issues. I was able to fatten her up and get her into good health. But in the last few years she's been properly elderly (she got thin, started losing her ability to jump) and we knew her time would be soon.

She had the smarts and the stealth of a high level rogue. Her black color made her impossible to see in the dark, and she knew when to wait patiently for an opportunity (to escape or steal food). Often though this just meant she got stepped on (dammit Piper!!). She escaped 2 times right when her previous owner left, a few days each time. She found her way back 🙌 Recently she got out for a few hours and I only found out when I heard her meowing from OUTSIDE. babygirl you coulda gotten hurt 😭

She loved boxes and would get into empty ones immediately. When she was younger she was a renowned shoulder cat. She used to be able to jump from the floor to my husband's shoulders (a good 6 feet). She'd try to get on your shoulders any chance she got, like if you bent over. As she aged she slowly lost her jumping ability which was so sad to see, we got her some step stools and were helping her up a lot.

Our other cats, half her age, had differing opinions- Mo the boy would be sweet on her and play with her very gently (he's huge and muscular and she was always small and frail but he knew to not wrestle her). Piper would chase him around in return. (in March we were building Ikea furniture and Piper got so hyped at the fun boxes that she BODYSLAMMED Mo it was so funny). Mo is gonna be sad about Piper being gone.

Sweatpants, Mo's sister, HATED Piper. She took 5 years to tolerate being anywhere close to her, lots of hissing and smacking. Rude at the old lady!! At the end though she left Piper alone at least.

Piper was the only cat I've ever had that LOVED being held especially in the winter. One time I strained my shoulders because I held her for 2 hours. She would beg to be picked up. She would get in your lap and would even lay on my husband's arms while he was actively using his computer. She didn't care that you needed your arms to do stuff.

She liked to sleep in a box on my desk while I worked. I crocheted her a little wool blanket for her box with my scrap blanket yarn (pictured above). She is now buried in it 💔. She liked to look at art (????).

She was very social and loved to hang out with everyone. She would yowl and bring toys trying to get us to come out of hiding if she thought people were gone. Usually we were just SLEEPING though, lol she was soooo loud.

She was almost entirely fearless. Barring street traffic and going to weird places she gave 0 fucks. She used to be an indoor/outdoor cat so she got bored stuck inside our house. In her search for new stimuli she would get into the middle of EVERYTHING you were doing. Doesn't matter if you were actively using power tools or moving heavy furniture - she would get in the way. She didn't even mind the vacuum! When my other cats ran away in fear of sounds or whatever she wouldn't budge. Couldn't be bothered.

A few years ago I got her trained on a harness and leash to let her get outside again. She begrudged the harness but took to it immediately anyway and loved it. She would CONSTANTLY beg to go outside. She begrudged the boundaries (no you can't go in the woodchuck hole, no you can't stick your nose in the cactus, no its below freezing outside today) but she loved chasing chipmunks and eating grass (was very fond of the prairie dropseed in particular). I am so happy that she departed during warm weather- I was worried she'd go in winter and not get to enjoy one last springtime.

She would only eat ONE kind of dry cat food even though wet food was always also available. We eventually found out she loves milkfat and grease so she got lots of treats of butter & cheese & hamburger & bacon. Because she was so thin these the last few years it helped keep weight on her. she CAN haz cheezburger! This made her even more annoying about getting into people food lol.

In November our friend moved in with us because she was dealing with a nasty divorce and got kicked out of her condo. She moved into our spare room, which was Piper's little exclusive territory. Luckily my friend likes cats and accepted her "roommate". She immediately doated on her soooo much. She got Piper special healthy treats and they became best friends- Piper even put on some weight from the treats! (We found the "too many treats" limit at one point lol). I'm so glad Piper got even more attention in her last few months. (When my friend paid attention to the other cats she felt like she was "cheating on Piper"). My friend saw a lot of herself in the cat. She has helped me a ton in dealing with Piper's last days and I appreciate it so much. My friend even said she wished she'd moved in sooner to have gotten more time with the cat.

Piper was disgusting, she puked up grass often, she was LOUD (she'd meow for things and if she didn't think you heard her she'd look you in the eye and yell louder), she'd find things to rattle (food dish, door) to demand food. She would escape into the basement (not allowed!) and get into the crawlspace and come back covered in spiderwebs. She'd yowl sooooo much at night, the most annoying. She'd get into food left out. She was an obnoxious little gremlin !!! and we loved her anyway.

I knew when we took her in that she'd be the one to teach me about death, as I am an unexperienced idiot when it comes to that. Putting her in the ground felt so weird and hurt so much, but now I know about that sort of thing. I am thankful for that, and that I got to take care of her and give her a spoiled, pampered, comfortable life. I am thankful that I was able to see her go peacefully, and that she trusted us with her final days.

I have buried her in our yard in one of my perennial flower beds, under the big beech tree. She will live on with us through the garden, becoming flowers and trees, which I think is the best kind of afterlife. That way it feels like she's still with us. I am glad she has impacted several other people and we are all crying about her. Thank you Piper for coming into my life. Everyone loved you so much. Rest in peace old lady. I love you.

I love Vash for his complexities. The way he contradicts himself. He's a staunch pacifist, but he gets angry enough a few times to be tempted to kill. He's goofy, yet haunted. Sweet, yet bitchy. And oh GOD he loves being an annoying little shit so much. He's jaded, yet hopeful. Resigned at the state of the world, yet still working to make it better. Plays the idiot, but is a total badass when push comes to shove. And for all his frequent childishness, he really is quite mature. That soul deep maturity that he achieved over a century and a half of struggle and strife, countered by his wish to just have Fun...

You see? These are two entirely different characters. After truly getting to know the 2nd (mainly manga vash, though 98 has some aspects of it too), the first just. Really falls flat.

GOD yes. tennis is soooooo expensive, it takes approx 1 billion dollars to pay for lessons, court time, coaching, travel, accommodation, gear, etc etc. :// You get paid if you win. let me say that again: you get paid if you WIN. there aren't salaries! early in your career, you are HEMORRHAGING money, esp if you have a coach. the travel is fricken expensive all by itself!! and if you're paying a coach as well you're either in debt or you're playing with house money if you catch my drift. (tennis players often come from wealth, much like f1 drivers — they can also be sponsored, sometimes by their country, but usually only if & while they're successful!!)

if you do well, you start to win, maybe you make money, more likely you're breaking even for a while (or even still losing). if you do REALLY well, then you're looking at more prize money and maybe sponsors, so then you can start making some real money out of this. but yeah it's CRAaaaaaazy how much money tennis players pay to play tennis lol!! it is 10000% a problem for getting underprivileged kids into tennis, there's a reason tennis is so white!

this golden guard......... he only appears for like one flashback scene but he's fascinating to me. he clearly wasn't integrated into witch society and was going along with philip's plan to hurt/kill witches, which is rlly interesting bc later on philip seemed to take on the strategy of telling the golden guards they were witches and letting them view him as a witch as well. i wonder if the moment in this flashback where they stage the explosion was the moment that convinced this golden guard to rebel, when he saw how people were suffering because of philip/belos.......

obv caleb as well. we haven't even seen him get animated yet or heard him talk but he means so much to me and every time he's even vaguely mentioned i go rabid. fingers crossed that we'll see more of him in the next episode

oh hey i just want to clarify that I don't blame Echo for what happened. He's literally the reason i started watching star wars animation in the first place my babygirl, my pumpkin pie, my cinnamon roll, my sweetheart sugar bear, my boo-boo beau, my snookums, my silly billy little guy, my girlypop pussyslay, my meow meow, my oompa loompa, my prefect princess, my catgirl, my maple syrup, my love-a-dove, my darling, my salt-and-sweetie, my funky monkey, my Ec-hoe, my orange chicken chow mein, my sodapop, my pepsi-can, my mnt dew, my liquor-liquor-lips, my teacup, my porcelain girl, my sugar, my doll, my dear, my love, my puppyboy, my kin.

However the reason I kin him is because the boy's got self-esteem issues. And I am also a boy with self-esteem issues who once convinced himself that a loved one dying was punishment from god for being gay. Eck's literally spent the last two seasons being told he's less-than-human and it's implied one of the reasons he decided to join the rebellion and refuses to settle down with the batch was out of guilt ("i'm doing this for my brothers" "when will it be enough"). I'm just saying humans are irrational in grief and Echo has so, so much trauma and regret. This is arguably the third time Echo's lost someone he deeply loves and cares for has passed without any closure. Obviously Echo has never done anything wrong in his life (being taken advantage of while in a vulnerable state and having his own mind unwittingly used to kill brothers does not count!), but I can imagine that he's in such a bad place mentally that he would blame himself, even though it is irrational. We know it's not his fault, but we also know that he most likely has survivor's guilt, and Tech's body is just gonna be another heavy weight added to the pile when Echo weighs his worth against those he's outlived.

Obviously Tech's death is a result of his own choice in response Tarkin's actions. He's a martyr in the name of his loved ones, and he's a tragic victim of the Empire's cruelty. One of the morals of the Bad Batch has literally always been about blaming the wrong enemy -- Crosshair blaming Rex for abandoning Echo. Hunter and Tech assuming Echo's a traitor.

Crosshair blaming his brothers for leaving him. The Batch blaming Crosshair for leaving them. Omega blaming herself at the start of the season. The Batch seeing the man from Serenno as a Separatist instead of an innocent. Cody blaming himself for Obi-Wan's death. The clones being blamed for the fall of Kamino. Those kids from the ipsium episode competing against one another for the favor of that evil guy.

The tension between the Batch and the regs instead of loving one another as brothers. The in-fighting within the Batch... that's like their m.o. Crosshair is very clearly the kinda guy who says inflammatory things to rile people up on purpose, and based on how long it took for him to defect despite multiple opportunities to do so previously, he also seems like the guy who hates admitting his wrong-- and Crosshair isn't to blame either! He tried his damnedest to protect his siblings, and they didn't listen. Tech made the choice to go on the mission and to sacrifice himself, but you can how Crosshair might still feel guilty, and that guilt would lead him to lash out?

And even if he understands it's not his fault, he's still gonna act out, cuz he's Crosshair and he says snarky shit unprompted all time, so of course he's gonna be mean and harsh and cutthroat when he's in mourning.

I already said why I think Hunter would use Echo as a target to take out his rage, but of course Hunter won't actually blame Echo. He's an intelligent man and semi-emotionally stable, but he just lost both his brother and his sister-daughter. He's going through a lot right now, and I could see him snapping at Echo because of the awful cocktail of guilt-anger-sadness-longing-grief-regret-fear he must be brewing right now.

Yeah, so, I'm sorry for not being clear that I don't think Echo's at fault her at all, but I could see how he might blame himself, or how the others my irrationally take their own guilt and grief out on him. I just think it's interesting to think about all the angst this could cause because, as stated before, Echo's my babyboy moonshine honey pot kitten sugar cookie sweetheart light of my life, and I enjoying making my blorbos suffer emotionally

Hey :D so y'know how Echo couldn't crack into Hemlock's data so he specifically left to ask for Tech's help :D how Riyo never asked him to reach out, and he did it of his free choice :D how it was because of that data that Tech decided to check his old channels :D and that made him decide to go on the mission instead of lounging in domestic bliss on Pabu :D

Do you think Echo will blame himself for Tech death :D do think Hunter will as well :D since he was against the mission in the first place and already wanted to retire :D even if logically he knows it's not Echo's fault he'll act out out of grief :D will crosshair blame him :D because it's easier than blaming himself :D
