Hi, same anon as before, I wanted to clear up what I meant about Percy since I feel I didn’t quite convey it correctly.
Percy is definitely masculine, but he is also… easily slotted into a very specific fandom archetype that, wether he fits it or not, he often ends up in. You know, the sad and pathetic man, but wait he’s also broody and badass?? Feral, even??? The anime boy poor little meow meow type, I guess. He even becomes a malewife. That is, while sometimes masculine, an archetype that is often headcanoned as queer in some way (and let’s be honest, that headcanoning oftentimes goes hand in hand with a sort of feminizing, though I don’t see that as much with Percy). I think Percy gets that general treatment a lot, and that goes along with the commonly headcanoned bisexuality. Fjord on the other hand, doesn’t.
Oh absolutely, like, I agree with you and I think I didn't phrase parts of my response very well. Like, the point I think you're making, and definitely the point I was making, is that based on the actual canon, Percy is in many ways quite stereotypically masculine, but happens to be an archetype that as you said leads into certain headcanons and interpretations, that lead into certain other headcanons, that eventually support a narrative of bisexuality that is also largely a headcanon of what that sexuality looks like since irl the way bi men relate to their gender is incredibly broad and diverse, and it's all a house of cards in the end.
(Which doesn't mean the headcanon isn't valid because for this you can literally just point at Percy and say "I think he's bi because I like this as an idea" and that's a valid headcanon. Like, you don't actually need to justify a headcanon beyond "this is not explicitly in conflict with canon"; it's theories you need to be able to back up with evidence).
