Another Chance (Dabi x reader)
a/n: grrrr all I can think about is Touya I just love him so so much!!! His ending and the entire LOV's endings still have me so :( and I've been imagining what it would look like if they all survived the war and got to live. Which led me to write up this fic where the reader was dating Dabi pre-war and didn't know he survived until Shoto sought you out and allow y'all to reunite!!! There's a hint of angst but overall it's very cutey because Touya deserves all the love!!!
wc: 1017
"I've killed over 30 innocent civilians. The firstborn of the Todoroki family. I am going to tell you all why I committed these heinous crimes."
Despite the words leaving the villain's mouth, you couldn't help but smile softly as you rewatched Dabi's reveal video for the fifth time. Work was slow and you were missing him a little more than usual today. Besides, it really was all you had left of him.
It had been almost three months since the war between heroes and villains went down, completely changing the world you once knew. This meant it was coming up on three months since you last saw your lover. Since the night he broke up with you, saying his time in this world was up and you should move forward. Without him.
"Excuse me," a young man says as he approaches the front desk you're seated behind. His voice snaps you out of your spiraling heartbroken thoughts. You take a deep breath, pulling yourself together and throwing on your customer service face. "Are you ______?"
"I am. How can I help you today?"
"My name is Shoto Todoroki." Your stomach drops. "Do you have a minute to talk?"
-----------------------------
For the first time in months, the week flew by. Today was finally the day you were going to reunited with Dabi. As excited as you were, anxiety was growing more and more inside your head. What if he didn't actually want to see you? What if you only make things harder for him? He was already suffering so much, maybe it would be better if you just went home and never came back and-
"He's going to be happy to see you." Shoto smiles as he places a hand on your shakey shoulder, breaking silence in the waiting room where you sat with his siblings and mother, all waiting for Touya to wake up from his nap.
"Yeah the idiot has been saying your name like every other day," Natsuo chimes in with a wide grin. "Still can't believe out of all his secrets, he had a gorgeous partner this whole time. You sure you're not some spy or something?" Fuyumi slaps his shoulder, shooting you an apologetic look before the two bicker. You chuckle at the sight, feeling your anxiety go down. You never imagined Dabi would have come from such a lively family.
"He's awake," a nurse approaches your group. You stand up with his siblings, Rei smiling softly at everyone before you all walk into his hospital room.
"Touya-nii," Shoto is the first to speak upon entering the room. "You have a guest."
"Yeah well fuck off," he grumbles, closing his eyes again despite just waking up.
"Well you heard him ______, guess we should head then," Natsuo teased loudly. Touya's eyes widen at hearing this, sitting up on the bed as his eyes scanned the room, landing on you with a shocked expression.
"________?" he asked in disbelief that you were standing here in front of him. Fuyumi and Natsuo snicker hearing his heart monitor rapidly beat, causing Touya to throw up a middle finger their way before returning his focus on you. You stood awkwardly as he sat awkwardly, unsure what to do next.
"Let's give them some privacy, yeah?" Fuyumi grabs Shoto and Natsuo before heading out the room, closing the door behind her. The silence persists until you speak up.
"Is it okay if I sit?" you ask, pointing to a spot on the large hospital bed. The size of the bed and private room must be a perk that comes with the Number One Hero's money paying for your medical bills. He nods, shakey bandaged hands smoothing out the bedsheets before you take a seat with him. "So Dabi-"
"Touya," he cuts you off. "You can call me Touya. At this point Dabi is gone." He sounded so nervous as he spoke it made your heart ache.
"Okay," you respond. "So Touya," you giggle upon hearing his heart rate monitor speed up again after saying his name. You take a shakey deep breath, collecting your thoughts. There was so much you wanted to say to him. You wanted to yell at him for leaving you. You wanted to cry, thanking the heavens and earth he was still alive. You wanted to make him promise he'd never do this to you again. Yet every time you went to open your mouth, no words would leave. Touya took notice to the conflicting emotions on your face each time you went to speak, the heavy weight of guilt tugging at his heart.
"I-I'm so sorry....." his words were quiet and it sounded like he was about to cry. He doesn't expect you to forgive me. Hell, he wouldn't be surprised if you didn't love him anymore. His heart sank as he heard muffled sobs leaving your mouth. He couldn't look at you.
"Can we start over?" you smile as he finally meets your teary eyes. His bandaged hand reaches to cup your face, thumb rubbing away the tears that have fallen from your eyes. He felt didn't deserve another chance at life like this, but god he wanted it more than anything. This time it wasn't because of hatred or spite. No he wanted to live out of love. Out of love for his siblings. For his mother. For you. Especially for you.
"Yeah, I'd like that," his voice is shakey as he speaks. He feels insanely nervous as he asks his next question, as if it's the first time he's ever asked you this. "C-can I kiss you?"
"Please." You don't care how desperate you sound in your answer. You needed him to know how you've been longing for him all this time, how he hadn't left your thoughts once since the last night you saw him. He pulls you into a sweet, gentle kiss. His lips are more burnt than the last time you shared a kiss, but it doesn't matter. He still tastes the same. He's still the same man you love. And this time, neither of you were going to let the other get away.

Time Of The Month.
Normal!Touya todoroki x Pro Hero!reader
Summary: young touya accidentally burns his girlfriends favorite teddy that she's had since childhood - she's gutted. It doesn't help that she's on her period too.
AU: Touya never became a villain.
Warnings: cute touya, crying, mentions of dark past, touya having a panic attack
Authors note: send in requests.. i need motivation. Enjoy!
"Shit.." touya said, scrambling around to try and find something to fix the teddy with. It was burnt to a crisp, only one side of it barely intact - only one eye, and the plastic nose had melted into the now rough fabric.
In his defense, you spent too much time with your teddy. He patted out the blue flames - you'd be home in an hour - what should he do? He can't fix it, and he certainly couldn't buy another one, he didn't have time. He ran his hand through his white hair and picked up a black pen from the bedside table and scribbled a little note.
He clicked the pen, setting it down next to the note, quickly slipping his shoes and coat on to go and meet up with his family for dinner, while you was on Patrol. He mentally kicked himself for being so reckless, and headed out the door.
-
About an hour later, you opened the door, kicking off your hero boots and quickly waddling to the bathroom to change your pad. God.. the cramps where really getting to you now - the villain you had just fought had gotten the worse side of it. The short end of the stick.
"Such an awful day.." you mumered to no-one in particular and slumped onto the couch.
You sniffed, smelling burnt plastic - unusual. Touya never does his little DIYs in the house, he does them in the garage.
You got up lazily, and headed to their shared bedroom - the room dark, the sunset seeping into the room, giving it a nostalgic feeling. The dark blue walls contrasted to the beautiful paintings touya had drawn, some unfinished, some framed on the shelving units that he put up the moment you said it'd look cool. The bed was made messily, touya probably waking up late and scrambling to get dressed to meet his family like he said he would.
Then, your eyes drifted to a lump in the sheets. You peeled it back - your teddy. Well, what was left of it. "No!.." you thought to herself, and tears brimmed your E/C eyes. "Damn you, touya!"
You looked at the note, and picked it up quite aggressively. You read over it with foggy eyes, and tore it up, chucking it in the bin, doubling over in pain. Your cramps really weren't helping her situation.
You flopped onto bed, softly crying into your pillow, hugging the now burnt teddy.
-
"So, touya. How's life?"
Natsuo said, munching on some Katsudon that Fuyumi made fresh, Rei talking to Shouto who was spacing out. Enji just sat there eating peacefully.
"Alright, I guess, y/ns convinced me to enrol in the hero course, but I don't know. I don't really want to be a hero - I think she just wants to close off any loose ends of me going down the wrong path.. I told her it wouldn't happen, but yknow. She doesn't listen." Touya explained, shouto snapping out of thought, walking over to sit next to his big brothers.
"Touya-nii? Shouldn't she be off Patrol by now?" Shouto said, looking at the clock. It's half 6, and liv got off work for about half 5.
"Yes, shouto, I'll text her," he said, whipping out his phone.
Touya:
Babe, you off work?
Baby?
Are you alright?
You:
No I'm not.
Touya:
Oh
It's because of your teddy right?
I didn't know what to do
I'm so sorry baby
I picked it up while I was having a bad dream and burnt it
I'm so sorry
Babe
Please answer
-
Touyas eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at his phone - you had read his messages, but you haven't responded. He felt his breath catch in his throat, feeling like he was suffocating. He couldn't breathe. His chest got tighter, a burning sensation in his eyes as he got up and rushed out of the front door and straight to their shared apartment. He needed to apologise to you. Now.
-
He swung the door open, and he caught you walking into their room before you shut it.
"Babe, let me in please.."
"Go away."
"Baby, please- I didnt- I didn't mean it, i- I had a really bad dream and I burnt it- please- please open the door!.." Touya struggled to get his words out as his throat closed up, choking back sobs.
The door opened slowly, and you let him in. He was a tall guy, not muscular but not skinny, his big blue bug eyes filled with tears, his eyebrows contorted with pain and sadness. His knees buckled, and he gripped your tshirt, his forehead resting against your stomach as you stood looking down at him, your own eyes puffy from crying.
"I'm so sorry!.. I didnt- i didn't mean it!- Please, please don't shut me out! Please don't leave!.." he blurted out, tears staining your sleep shirt. You ran your fingers through his his hair, and your heart sank with worry as he clutched at his chest, struggling to breath, and crying at the same time.
You dropped to the floor infront of him, taking his chin into your hands, trying to ground him. "Touya, baby, listen- I'm not gonna leave you, it's okay-"
You said, raking your fingers softly through his hair.
"Promise me?.."
He said, his shaking shoulders calming down, now more able to breath. He hiccuped a bit from the crying, and you brought your hand to the back of his neck, gently pushing his face into your neck, and the two of you just sat there in your home, calming eachother down.
"I'm not that sad, touya. I'm just a little annoyed that you didn't wake me up after your nightmare." You said, pushing his hair out of his face.
"I'm sorry.. I didnt want to disturb you.."
He said, and your heart clenched. You hated seeing him like this - but it was one step closer to healing him - you had stopped him from going down that horrible path that he had planned to drive down, and you where there to turn him around.
"Come on. Let's get into bed, yeah? Nice and comfortable." She said, standing up, and climbing into bed with him.
He was almost always little spoon, just wanted to be hugged and loved the way he always yearned for. In his head, his voice was baby touyas. Because at heart, that's who he'll always be. That small little boy, who always wanted to be loved and looked at. And you where there for him, to nurture him and look after him like his parents never did.
"I love you touya." You said, hugging him tight.
"I love you too." He said, before drifting off to sleep.
At least he looked peaceful in his slumber -
when he didn't have to worry about a thing.
-

Rei-Demption: A problem and my solution (ft. Rei's trauma and Hori's bullshit)
Might as well give my shot at it.
My take on Rei's personality has always been based in suppression.
Rei's whole life has been a balancing act of doing enough to protect her family, while still staying within the lines to not get disposed of.
She's everything Enji isn't. An iron will, a golden heart and a strong sense of empathy.
So with that in mind, hopefully it she'd light on it thought process with this post
A theory I have is that Rei was aware of the hospital's corruption
These panels always felt off too me, it always made me wonder: "does she know?"
The wording is very specific.
"I told him I liked it, around the first time we met. But only once"
It always struck me as odd, We're talking about the man who looked at his eldest death and kept going, man who destroyed multiple lives for a redundant pipedream.
It's not even why would he remember such a small detail, but rather how?
Unless... the doctors are feeding him information.
Think about it, who pays for all this. Surely it's not Fuyumi, on account of this being a massive money sink.
You really expect her to pay for all that on a teachers salary?
It can't be Natsuo because Enji has likely cut him off from everything to his name.
And that's assuming Enji even bothered to save up a college fund for any of them. Plus Natsuo is a full time student of medicine.
If the doctors are watching her every move, looking for any sign of deviation from the narrative then it makes sense for her to disguise her words.
Of course there's still more
Having PTSD isn't something you can keep someone institutionalized for. Especially when Rei's is very proportionate, given what she's gone through. (No, Japan's stigma of mental health wouldn't justify this)
I mean what are Rei's triggers?: Enji and that's about it.
"But we still... haven't met face to face, I'm still too afraid"
That's a standard reaction to have to your abuser (especially when he raped you multiple times)
('Just stop' gets a whole lot darker when you consider it's context)
Not to mention she's no longer fearful of anything resembling Enji, just Enji himself. So there is no real reason to keep her there unless they are afraid she might speak out.
This whole thing makes me think she's trying to tell Natsuo and Fuyumi what's really going on, in a way.
Subtly and under the calm, complacent mask she's expected to wear, in case anyone else is listening. Anyone who could report back to him.
It might also be she doesn't trust them. Fuyumi or Natsuo could blab or say something within earshot that could set Rei back months.
And she can't have that, not with how close she is to finally breaking free. She loves her children, all of them but the trust just isn't there, how can it be when when they don't have all the pieces.
So here's my theory: The hospital staff are in Enji's pockets. Either taking bribes (as recent as Dabi's Dance) or they were given a large sum of hush money when Rei was first hospitalized, with the goal of keeping her there as long as possible and possibly molding her to either keep her mouth shut or (sickeningly) gaslight her into returning to Enji.
(Note how she was only released when they could no longer keep a lid on things, the moment Dabi frops the bomb. She's out, no struggle)
This paints a picture of grotesque corruption, sloth and apathy (the very same cocktail that created Shigaraki) even by Hori's narrative standards. Shedding light on just how deep MHA's despotic nature goes.
The anime makes this even more apparent. Rei's fake smiles make the whole thing that much more viable. She seems so dead, it's like she smothered her soul or something.
I've seen both the sub and dub of this scene. The sub is the correct translation, the same as the Manga panel above.
The Dub however, while severly off mark, adds it's own flavour of dread. Rei sound so hollow, it was jarring the first time I heard it.
It sounded like she was reading a script (in-universe). Like she'd rehearsed this in her mind a million times, staring at the same 3 white walls + the window and waiting for an opening to finally speak.
That was supposed to be Shoto, until the dorms ruined that. Suddenly Rei's lifeline is gone, reduced to letters that don't even tell half the story.
10 years, 10 fucking years reduced to lines on a page.
Can you imagine the despair, dear reader?
The frustration. The sheer vitriol coursing thorough her veins, far hotter than Touya could ever manage.
Having to do the same thing she's been doing even before she was locked away. As the the skeleton in the closet of a criminal with a license.
Wearing masks for so long you can hardly breath and in the brief moments you can take them off. You can hardly recognize yourself, how you once were.
It must be the truest form of hell.
The Rei-demption Arc
Rei's redemption arc takes the attention of our theoretical arc without overtaking it.
The arc would mostly focus on the more domestic aspects of our trio being: Midoriya, Shoto and Uraraka.
A few minor changes would occur. The dorms never happen, allowing the characters to exist outside of UA.
There is solid confirmation that Fujiya is corrupt and is keeping Rei institutionalized on illegal grounds (ie: not meeting the criteria set up to ensure her silence)
The dinner scene would still happen only it would bd framed for what it really was. A pathetic attempt at creating a moment that never existed.
There's no family with Enji.
Just a family held hostage and a tyrant. I have my own grievances with Fuyumi, but I'll leave that for the future.
The only difference besides Natsuo being properly portrayed as a victim acting well within his right, the reasons for our trio going would be for Shoto's emotional wellbeing, because he asked them to.
Uraraka could have a moment where she realizes that money is as much as good as it is bad. An actually decent shift into her change of goals.
Here Enji motivates her to "watch the watchmen". Her need for money is still a crucial part of her reasons for becoming a hero, but she also has a more front and center goal.
I'd imagine she has a moment parallel to Midoriya's during the Sports Festival.
Where (alone in front of the Dojo after the failed dinner) she rightfully calls out Enji for being a self pitying piece of shit and that "sorry" doesn't cut it.
"You've hurt them in ways you can't imagine." Would probably be the last thing she says before walking away.
She may not know the whole story but she knows it hurt them and that's enough.
Rei's ascent
Rei's biggest hurdle is accepting that she was also an abuse victim. She's furious but she's only furious on her children's behalf and what they lost.
Her unintentionally harmful actions weigh on her, be it her neglect or the night she scalded Shoto, these events have impacted her deeply.
She learns to reconcile with her past, improve her relationship with Shoto and even meets Shoto's friends at one point.
Eventually she finds closure but that's later on.
She also acts as an advisor at times, having given Shoto the idea of using Ice projectiles (as seen in the Licensing Exam)
The second half comes from the Hospitals corruption, as Rei learns that she is long overdue for release (by about 8 years) among other horrific practices. This would play out as the arc's B plot, building up to what I call "The Summit"
The Summit
Eventually Rei fights Hood.
After gathering the evidence, she escapes the hospital. Planning to go to Natsuo for protection. As she's walking across a crosswalk however, she hears what sounds like an explosion.
Eventually she hears screaming and is forced to use her quirk as a bus is suddenly sent hurdling in her general direction.
As of her body moved on its own, she envelops it in her ice. Stopping the bus and saving those behind her in the process.
Only to see Hood land on top. They lock eyes and Rei can't help but see Touya in Hoods ambition.
In response to Rei holding her ground, Hood dashes. Rei counters this by manipulating her ice to send him crashing into an empty building, impaling him on the glaciers end.
Hood is impressed by Rei's proficiency and chooses to fight her.
Rei having no experience, fights for her life. Where as Rei avoids Civilians, Hood has no care for them which forces Rei to play the role of hero.
Rei uses every weapon in her arsenal in order to stave off Hood, who only gets more relentless as the battle stretches on. The upside is Hood's regeneration struggles in the cold, which Rei is constantly producing.
Each side gets blows in, with Rei taking them surprisingly well but still being worse for wear. Hood notes this saying "as if y-you've done t-t-this before" (close, Hood very close)
Eventually Hood gets the upper hand, towering over Rei in a manner that triggers her PTSD and leaves her stunned.
One of the civilians (Horoshi Tameda) emboldened by Rei's efforts, picks up a loose chunk of pavement and chucks it at Hood's back. It hits, causing Hood to look back.
Civilians begin making loud noise, others begin picking up anything they can find and throw it at Hood. Further catching him off guard long enough for Rei to snap out of her episode and strike back.
From here the fight kicks into high gear, with Rescue heroes & paramedics arriving on the scene and a camera crew recording the fight from above. Overall I imagine the scene to be very uplifting, with the Orchestra swelling as Rei prepares a final attack.
The move rivals that of Shoto's, arguably even surpassing it. Hoof is incased in a prison of Ice, covering an entire city block worth of destroyed buildings. And the fight finishes with Rei collapsing to her knees.
From here on out things change. Rei's newfound fame leads to the hospital being forced to do their job. Because of this Rei gets out early (around the time the Internship arc would started had I not scrapped it)
As for what this could lead to I'll let you decide. I'd love to read some suggestions.
Bonuses:
Theories:
The reason they kicked Fuyumi from her job is because she covered an abuser's ass for years. While Fuyumi is a victim, it doesn't excuse her complacency in regards to Enji's treatment of Shoto before and after his "self pity" arc.
Natsuo didnt go to someone because he wouldn't likely be believed, being seen as bitter and untrustworthy (his time away from home wouldn't help with pinning evidence).
Extra:
Hood survived the fight, Rei opted to capture him as opposed to kill him. That doesn't mean he didn't get frost bite. Police found out it is very difficult to question a Nomu.
Out of all her trauma. Rei accepting she was never given a choice will be the hardest to accept.
Rei's family is not inbred, rather her parents ran away so her father wouldn't be forced into a marriage with his cousin. Only to ironically do the very same to their daughter.
Hiroshi still becomes a meme, his 'Can't you see speech' leads to him becoming a motivational speaker.
The reason Hood appeared is because Dabi lost track of him. He nearly had a heart attack when he discovered his mom was holding the Nomu off.

Being The Oldest Todoroki Daughter
You're Toya's Twin Sister
The two of you had always been close ever since you were younger
Both of you felt pressured to be good enough for your father, pushing yourselves beyond your limit during training
You two were each other's support
However, things only seemed to get worse
Fuyumi and Natsuo being born made you both happy and worried
Then Shoto came along and your father focused on him, calling Shoto his masterpiece
Both you and Toya felt Jealous since you wanted your father's approval
You didn't hate Shoto, but Toya held more resentment toward the youngest of you all
You tried to make him realize that it was all your father's fault, but he didn't listen
Even comfort from Natsuo didn't help you feel completely better
You, Toya, Fuyumi and Natsuo didn't see Shoto very often, since your father kept him busy with training
You barely saw your mother either
Then came the incident when Rei had enough of the way she had been treated by Endeavor
She ended up pouring boiling water on Shoto's face, which caused her to be sent to a mental hospital
Things became even more tense in your home after that
And one day, Toya died
You were heartbroken, since out of all your siblings you felt closest to him
It was at that point that you distanced yourself from your entire family, even Natsuo and Fuyumi
You hadn't been that close to Shoto, but at that point you barely even went near him
You swore to yourself that you would become a better hero than your father ever could be
Not to make him happy, but to spite him
When you grew up, you made it as a hero, moving out of the home you had grown up in for some long
Deep down, you felt bad for your sibling, but you didn't know how to form a proper relationship with them
You wouldn't even consider trying to fix things with your father
Some time later, you finally found the bravery to visit your mother
Though it was awkward at first, you did end up mending things with her a bit
It made you happy to know she didn't hate you, considering how much you look like your father
She was glad you had moved out and started your own life, and she was proud of you for being such an amazing hero
After visiting your mother, you finally gathered the courage to talk to your siblings again
Fuyumi was the most willing, having missed you since you left the home
Natsuo was a bit hesitant, but came around after a short while
The two of you bonded over the anger you felt toward your father
Shoto was a different story
At first, he didn't really want to see you
Part of him resented you for leaving, and the fact that Endeavor wasn't as tough on you as he was on him
But, after some time, the two of you slowly became close
He really started to feel close to you when you stood up to your father how he was hurting Shoto
He started admiring you after that
He even picked your agency to intern with instead of your father's, which Endeavor wasn't too happy with that
Though, neither of you cared
It felt nice to be close to your siblings after all the time that you had spent barely being around them
You watched as Shoto made his way through UA
And despite all the dangers he faced along the way, he always persevered
During one of your patrols, you met Dabi
There was something familiar about him, but you just couldn't figure it out
It bothered you for a while, until you were given the answer
During what could only be called a war, Dabi was spotted on top of the giant villain
At that moment, you got your answe
Dabi was actually Toya, your twin brother
And he followed through with his plan of exposing your father and all that he had done
You tried your best to stop him, even if he was your brother
You knew your father wouldn't be up for.the task, so you would step up
There was no more Toya, only Dabi

PLATONIC YANDERE TODOROKI FAMILY HEADCANONS
You are the youngest sibling and they are INSANELY OVERPROTECTIVE of you
They won't micro chip you and all that shit, but... for your safety, they will insert bugs in almost ALL of your electronics for your safety, of course. They don't want their youngest sibling/child to be in any danger now, do they?
Rei likes braiding your hair and Fuyumi likes dressing you up which by the way, she thinks looks ADORABLE on you
Natsuo sometimes gives you shoulder massages while eating and Dabi/Touya likes feeding his youngest sibling. The brothers think that you're a delicate precious little angel that needs constant attention or they'd get themselves injured
The whole family loves to SPOIL you to death
Shoto would be breathing down your neck every second of the day he can; sitting close to you or holding your hand whenever he can
If you're angry about something, say, you didn't win something though you've worked really hard for it? Surprise, surprise! You're now the winner of whatever contest you've recently entered. Someone making fun of you constantly? Bones will be broken and NONE of them will be from YOUR family
Believe it or not, Endeavor actually has a soft spot for you. He NEVER yelled at you, nor did he ever raise his voice at you, like AT ALL (Lol, I can't believe I'm writing this since I know this ain't gonna be true but put up with me peeps)
When Enji's not around, and you're throwing one of your tantrums, big brother Touya will come to calm you down. And you do. At the sight of his music playlist (Which btw the ENTIRE family has composed ESPECIALLY for you WITHOUT any cuss words. They don't want their baby cussing)
No one cusses while you're around
However 2 things are off the table for you. One, no hanging out with boys other than your brothers. If you are spotted hanging around them, well... they can say goodbye to a couple of bones and you'll get your favorite things taken away from you by Enji and Rei though it breaks everyone's heart to see you pout and sulk and cry, they have no choice to do it. It's for your OWN good you know and two, NO going ANYWHERE without one of them being there to supervise you. Who knows what sort of trouble you'll get yourself into and after all, the outside world isn't safe for an innocent precious naive angel like you
One day, you and Touya had gone to a concert since your favorite band had come to town. You guys had left in the morning and returned just before dinner. Enji and Rei were getting anxious about where your brother had taken you for so long. Fuyumi and Natsuo were texting Shotou back and forth about you, but he only told them that they will be returning soon and Shoto was repeatedly calling you but you didn't answer since you put your phone on silent. Since that day, Enji and Rei didn't let you go out for concerts IF you didn't place your phone on silent AND ANOTHER sibling of yours had to be around you the next time you were alone with Touya
Natsuo once saw you cut yourself accidentally while cutting some vegetables. After that you weren't allowed to be in the kitchen while Rei was cooking and BOOM, what a shocker, the ENTIRE FREAKING house was baby proofed as well (good luck)
They might ''accidentally'' hurt you just to keep you 'safe' at home. Why go out where there are SO MANY dangers when your family can protect you from them? Besides, it doesn't matter if you ran to Enji to escape them. Sure he could keep them away from you for some time, but he's a pro hero that's needed in the country every day. So once Enji's out of the house, they'll have to lecture how how being a tattletale isn't good for you
Like I said before, INSANELY POSSESSIVE and OVERPROTECTIVE ASF

best friends brother!touya who has had his eye on you longer than you realize
cw/tw: reader is in college, reader is 18 and touya is 19, one mention of touya smoking, fluffy fluffy fluffy
wc: 2.3k
a/n: this is part two of my bfb!touya au. part one can be found here.
if there was one thing that had always prevented your crush on touya from being a total cliche, it was the fact that you had a good relationship. you were never reduced to being just his baby sister's equally babyish friend, there to ignore or treat like a nuisance. whether he really knew it or not, touya was your friend, too; and you were his.
it’d be inaccurate, however, to describe your current predicament as a “friends” quarrel. it might even be inaccurate to call something so one-sided a quarrel at all. all you know for sure is that touya’s been giving you the silent treatment for far too long, and you’re going to do something about it.
after weeks of avoiding you and his own house, he’s forced to reappear for shouto’s birthday (although you think rei repeatedly asking him if fuyumi is now her oldest child during their daily phone calls should also be credited). it’s meant to be a small celebration between the family that they all insist you’re a part of. shouto has plans to spend the rest of the evening with his new school friends.
“you still friends with the little shit that looks like he bites, shou?” touya asks while rummaging through the kitchen drawer for candles, unbothered by rei’s soft swat on the back of his head and hissing of his name. it’s the second one he’s received from her since he’s arrived, the first having been provoked by a new tattoo taking up a large portion of the side of his neck (needless to say, it made you feel a bit delusional for thinking you were entirely to blame for his lack of visits).
despite his crappy description, shouto understands enough to mumble an “mhm”.
“what about the one with the freckles? he’s a good kid. i’d keep him around if i were you.”
“thank god we have such an upstanding citizen for a brother,” natsuo teases, large enough to ruffle his big brothers white head of hair while he’s still sat. “share some more of your wis— get off of me!”
touya’s interest has shifted to putting natsuo in a headlock, wrestling him to the ground in a competition he’s bound to lose, if their past scuffles have anything to say about it. the box falls from his hold, spilling dozens of multicolored candles all over the kitchen floor. the sounds of the sticks crunching and breaking under shoes puts a halt to their little match.
touya pulls away, unaware that you’re already crouched under the table trying to recover the salvageable candles yourself. it’s his hand landing on top of your smaller ones that alerts him, eyes shooting up to meet yours like a deer caught in headlights. the constrictions of the tight space causes you to nearly knock face first into one another. despite the proximity, you’re suddenly reminded that you’re not nearly as close as you were weeks ago, when your tongues were down each others throats.
it takes all your willpower not to squeal from embarrassment as you squirm your way out from underneath the table, body running dangerously hot. it’s ironic, you think, that you’re the first to back away after begging for a chance to be near him again all this time; but more so the fact that touya is the one left with a sad, longing expression on his face when he stands.
light snow is falling by the time shouto’s celebration comes to an end, accompanied by bitter cold weather. kind of depressing, but touya figures that’s just how his oddball little brother would like it. it’s only four thirty in the afternoon, but the lamps lined along the pathway in front of the todoroki household are already on. his black down jacket is zipped all the way to his nose, hood struggling against the unruliness of his hair. the crunching of the snow underneath his boots brings him a nice calm — ruined by the sound of your warm voice.
normally, your shouts of his name were more than welcome. but given the circumstances, he can’t help but feel a sense of impending doom. he turns on his heel to see you running down the yard without a care in the world, and fights the urge to yell at you to be careful (though the thought of you slipping and landing on your butt is kind of endearing too). by the time you reach him, you’re out of breath. it comes as no surprise to the creep who’d spectated you in the past during your high school sports festivals.
“touya,” you pant, hand on his shoulder. “walk me home, will you?”
you’re cruel. it’s a request he can’t say no to; you might as well have put a gun to his head. there’s a sadistic, pleased little grin on your face as you start waddling alongside him. touya figures it shouldn’t be too difficult taking you home without sparing a word; you only live about ten minutes away. what’s ten more minutes after weeks of keeping this up?
he fails to take into account that having you this close strips him of all immunity to your charm, especially when you look this adorable. you look well prepared for an expedition to the antarctic, in your oversized puffer jacket, winter mittens, gloves and scarf. all the bundles practically swallow you whole, only leaving your cute little face exposed.
there’s students roaming the streets, probably heading home from their after school clubs. you’re people watching; touya knows you’ve always had a knack for that. he quickly averts the side gaze he’s had on you when he notices your head turning up towards him.
“did you ever realize how popular you were in high school?” there’s a hint of nostalgia in your voice.
you receive a shrug in response. “not really.”
“everyone in my year was in love with you,” you chuckle into your scarf.
touya’s eyebrow quirks up. everyone? even you? he wills himself not to say. your new boyfriend probably wouldn’t like that.
but your power over him must have upgraded to telepathy, because you proceed to answer his question. “even i was a victim to the touya disease, you know.”
“oh yeah?” even if he can’t steady his heart rate, he’ll maintain his cool.
“oh yeah. i think everyone would agree it was hard crushing on someone who didn’t even know they existed.”
touya digs his face deeper into his jacket, hands curled tighter in his pockets.
“right.”
touya’s ears pick up on your voice before he actually sees you for the first time. just standing in the school library is enough to send shivers down his edgy spine, but he’s willing to make the sacrifice to wait around for his buddy, who’s been forced into tutoring sessions. he’s made himself busy scanning through the aisles for books that pique his interest, a safe distance from the tables where you and his friend had agreed to meet up.
“hey, that’s alright! even i struggled learning this at first. you’ll get the hang of it in no time. i believe in you.”
touya snorts. he can imagine his friend currently trying to dig his fingers into his eyeballs. but even funnier is the sweet voice you're using and your gentle words of encouragement. most people fearfully trip over their own feet and fumble their words at the mere sight of his group of friends: yet you’re treating the scariest looking one of the group like a grade schooler learning his times tables.
touya had promised to make himself invisible while waiting around; his friend was already humiliated by just the prospect of needing tutoring. but his curiosity always came out victorious, and he’s soon peeking from behind the shelves just to catch a tiny glimpse of you.
your pretty face matches your voice.
the next time touya catches a glimpse of you, your back is turned to him. he’s performing his regular routine of sneaking out of his p.e. class in order to head to the bathroom for a smoke. you’re walking down the halls with your headphones in, completely oblivious to the presence behind you, and through the silence he can faintly hear the instrumental of whatever it is you’re listening to. he knows it’s a shitty thing to make judgements about someone he’s never even had a conversation with, but he can’t help but think whatever’s playing in your headphones is far different from what he’d expect someone as soft as you to listen to. he’s able to make out the sounds of heavy drums and electric guitar riffs. it’s as if you lived to surprise him, he thinks, when you start whispering the lyrics to the song; one that’s been on nearly all of his playlists.
touya thinks the universe is trying to get him arrested when he finds himself coincidentally trailing behind you on the way home a week later. he also thinks you should have more concern for your safety, seeing as you could’ve had a full fledged stalker at this point and had no idea. five minutes into your journey home, he watches as you come to a stop under a lamp post, and reach into your backpack. maybe you’re finally taking out pepper spray, or a pocket knife, touya guesses (and secretly hopes). instead, you pull out a can of food, kneeling down and placing it in front of a nearby bush. there’s a rustling and the sound of a meow before a stray ball of fluff comes running out, circling and rubbing his head against you in familiarity before indulging in your offering. as he watches you coo and gently scratch around the cats ears, touya comes to a conclusion: he has a fat crush on you.
for the next year, touya’s attempts at doing anything about his crush on you don’t surpass staring at you from afar for no more than three seconds at a time; and that was just fine for him. leave it to his little siblings to screw it all up. granted, the last of his siblings he would have expected to act as the agent of chaos was fuyumi. the day he came home to find you sitting at his kitchen table and giggling with his little sister, touya knew he was well beyond fucked.
there’s a tug on the sleeve of your jacket that forces you to stop in your tracks. the snow that’s now been disguised by the complete darkness of the evening is reilluminated by the light radiating from the lamp post above you.
“i’ll cut the bullshit. i like you. a lot,” touya declares, blinking away the snowflakes that make his eyelashes look impossibly prettier. “hearing that you had a boyfriend fucking sucked, and i had this petty, stupid idea to bring some girl over. i don’t know what exactly i was trying to accomplish.”
you’d had a whole speech planned and written in your heart for the boy looking down at you; you figure you should also correct his faulty assumption, but his confession leaves you tongue tied.
“but then you had this sad look on your face the whole time and that’s all i could think about for the next day. kissing you was a dick move, i know but….” he sighs, looking up at the night sky as if it might throw him a bone. “but you kissed me back. and i don’t want to be like… your side bitch, or something.”
you’re able to read genuine hurt in touya’s eyes, but his claim and it’s wording throws you into a fit of giggles. even as you’re laughing at his misery, touya can’t help but have goo-goo eyes for you.
“i’m serious! i went back to my room with a sad boner, you know! and it’s honestly blasphemous for you of all people to two time your poor boyfriend. i thought you were supposed to be a saint!”
“i’m sorry, i’m sorry. it’s just— you’re so stupid,” you wheeze.
it’s difficult for touya to take the fact that you just called him stupid to heart as you unsuccessfully attempt to wipe your tears away with your mittens on; so he does it for you. you give a soft smile of gratitude in return, a glint in your eyes. you take off your gloves so that you’re able to pull down the zipper covering his face. and despite his declaration that he didn’t want to be your “side bitch”, touya doesn’t stop you when you get on your tippy toes and loop your arms around his torso to plant a soft kiss on his lips; nor does he complain when it lands on his cupids bow instead. the softness of it all only makes him blush even harder, an effect he hopes is you’ll blame on the cold weather.
you don’t.
your chin is propped on his chest as you look up at him with a goofy smile. “i’m not dating that guy. i was peer pressured by fuyumi into going on one date, but nothing came out of it. you’d know that if you hadn’t stormed out of the room like a big baby. i kissed you back because i have feelings for you, dummy.”
with wide eyes, touya lets out a breathy laugh, before pulling his hands out of his pockets to grab your face and crash his lips into yours, hard and needy. you’re lips are locked for what feels like far too little a time before he pulls away.
“if i were you i probably wouldn’t want to date such an idiot after all this but…. will you? date me?”
“i’d love nothing more than to date this idiot.”
touya’s going to have to tell you later how you got together in the same spot he fell for you; but his first order of business is to take you back to his place and make up for lost time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s Christmas Eve in Musutafu, and Touya Todoroki pulls into the driveway with his boyfriend, Keigo Takami, in the passenger seat.
“Remind me to drive next time,” Keigo mutters, running a hand through his hair, “You’re lucky we didn’t get pulled over with your driving…or that we made it here at all.”
“Are you gonna bring a bag for me to puke in?” Touya counters as he turns the car off.
Keigo’s eyes narrow, and he gets out of the car without any more protest.
“That’s what I thought,” Touya snorts triumphantly as he hops out into the frigid air. His shoes crunch on the snowy gravel.
“AMBUSH!”
WHAM!
“Fuck!” Touya swears as a snowball collides with the side of his head before he’s enveloped in an overbearing hug.
“Good to see you, too, Natsuo. Now get the hell off me,” He grumbles, shoving his beaming brother away while Keigo closes the trunk, brandishing armfuls of gifts for Touya’s family.
“Aw, are all those for me?” Natsuo chuckles.
“Sorry. Only for the siblings that don’t pelt me in the head,” Touya sneers, punching him in the arm with enough force to know he didn’t appreciate it.
“Lemme help,” Natsuo offers, taking some of the gifts out of Keigo’s hands before walking back inside the house.
“I don’t see your dad’s car,” Keigo takes note as he uses his now-free arm to sling his bag over his shoulder.
“Yeah, I was kinda hoping to key it,” Touya frowns, pulling his backpack out of the car before locking it. The two walk up the snowy pathway to the front door, shaking the snow off their shoes before stepping inside and taking them off.
“My baby’s home!” Rei Todoroki exclaims, rushing to embrace her son before pulling Keigo in as well. “And you brought Keigo!”
“Good to see you too, Miss Todoroki,” Keigo mumbles through his scarlet scarf.
“Your father’s on a work trip…again. So he won’t be joining us tonight,” Rei sighs, scratching the back of her neck, not noticing Touya fisting the air in victory.
“Oh no,” Touya’s tone is blatantly sarcastic, and Keigo elbows him in the side harshly.
“I guess you two will be staying in Touya’s childhood bedroom tonight. Like a little sleepover! Just like you two used to before you went off to college!” Rei grins as if she’s reminiscing, leading them to Touya’s room to drop off their things. Keigo clocks her words and yanks Touya by the elbow of his jacket before whispering in his ear:
“Your mom has no idea we’re dating, does she?”
“As far as my mother is concerned, I’m a goddamn virgin and a perfect student,” Touya hisses, leering at Keigo.
“Mhm. Got it,” Keigo shrugs, shaking his head. They were going to find out sooner or later.
Rei opens the door to Touya’s childhood bedroom.
“I’m going to go help Fuyumi finish up with Christmas dinner! You boys make yourselves at home!” She grins before walking further down the hallway to the kitchen.
“Really?” Keigo groans at the blow-up mattress on the floor beside Touya’s bed.
“I mean,” Touya hushes under his breath, “You can always sneak into my bed in the middle of the night. It’ll be a tight fit though. Never upgraded out of a twin bed.”
“Yeah, I gathered that,” Keigo huffs, nodding his head with a “duh” expression.
…
…
At first, Christmas Eve seemed to carry on as usual without any problems. They all planned to exchange gifts the next morning on Christmas Day. Dinner was amazing. Fuyumi, unfortunately, made everyone get into matching snowflake pajamas before sitting in the living room to watch Christmas movies. That is…until-
ZZZZAPP!
The Todoroki family house goes completely dark, and, when Touya looks out the window, he notices the entire street has gone dark.
“Looks like there’s a power outage,” Shoto explains, scrolling on his phone.
“Does that mean the heat’s out, too?!” Natsuo gripes.
“We’ll all just have to bundle up extra warm tonight,” Rei smiles warmly, and Touya winks at Keigo, earning another heavy sigh.
…
…
“Touya!” Keigo whispers in the darkness.
“Yeah?” Touya groans.
“I’m fucking freezing !”
“Yeah. The power’s out. And you’re on the floor. Cold air sinks,” Touya replies flatly.
“I know cold air sinks! Can I bunk with you?” Keigo asks in a hushed whisper. Touya’s bed creaks as he leans over the side to stare down at Keigo with a devious smirk.
“Oh, you want me to warm you up?” He sneers playfully.
“Shut up!” Keigo hisses, but Touya pats the edge of the mattress, pulling his blankets up and beckoning Keigo to climb in.
Keigo carefully crawls into the bed, but it’s so small that they’re both forced to sleep on their sides, right up against one another.
So close, in fact, that Keigo can feel Touya’s very obvious erection pressed up against his ass.
“Are you serious?! Your family is in the house, Touya,” Keigo whispers heatedly.
“C’mon, dove. We can be quiet. And the door’s locked,” Touya rasps, voice breathy and pulse racing.
“Can you? Because you never shut up,” Keigo remarks, half-flirting-half-serious.
“I will if you kiss me,” Touya coos, mischievously tapping Keigo’s shoulder.
Keigo sighs, shaking his head before he turns to face Touya and gently connects their lips. Touya seems to melt, arms snaking up the back of Keigo’s shirt, feeling the curves and ridges of his muscles.
Keigo breathes deeply into the kiss, tongue gliding across Touya’s bottom lip, and the bed creaks as Touya ends up on his back with Keigo lying on top of him. Touya gasps when he feels Keigo’s own slowly growing erection pressing up against his. The gasp lets Keigo slip his tongue into Touya’s mouth, and Touya happily obliges, a lewd moan muffling in his throat as their tongues tease each other.
Touya bucks his hips, making Keigo sharply inhale at the friction, and he starts mouthing down from Touya’s lips to place kisses along his jawline. Touya cards his hand through Keigo’s blonde hair, chewing on the inside of his cheek to give him something to focus on besides the pleasure as Keigo moves further south. They’re already both in just boxers and T-shirts, so Keigo doesn’t need to do much to free Touya’s rock-hard cock as he sinks further beneath the blankets.
Keigo presses sloppy kisses from the bottom of Touya’s shaft to his tip before licking up the sides.
“Aw, fuck…come on, baby, quit teasing ,” Touya moans softly, making sure only Keigo can hear him. He’s so turned on that it’s getting painful, and it's taking everything in him not to grind his hips and fuck his boyfriend’s mouth.
Keigo’s lips wrap around the head, the warmth putting butterflies in Touya’s stomach and making his toes curl as he sucks on it, hand gently stroking the shaft.
Touya gently bites his own hand, eyes squeezing shut and brow furrowing as his breathing labors.
Keigo sucks more of Touya’s cock into his mouth, and Touya can barely hear the sounds beneath the blanket.
There’s something electric about the risk of being discovered; it scratches Touya’s brain in just the right spot.
It isn’t long before Keigo hits just the right spot, too, and then, Touya’s coming down his throat with a broken gasp.
Keigo sucks him through it, relishing in his lover’s squirms as he swallows it all.
Touya pulls the blanket up so they can lock eyes. His pupils are blown out.
“Fuck me, Keigo,” Touya blurts, struggling to keep his voice down.
Keigo blinks. He didn’t expect them to fuck while they were here.
“Touya, I-”
“Please,” He purrs, “I want it. I want you .”
“I didn’t bring-”
“I did. And I can clean the sheets so no one’s gonna find out,” Touya cuts him off again in a hushed whisper, reaching over and pulling a bottle of lube out of his nightstand drawer as he starts kicking off his underwear. “You’re acting like this is our first time,” He adds, clearly irritated.
“Your brother’s room is literally down the hall!” Keigo mutters.
“We just have to be quiet!” Touya insists, his voice tense, “ Please .”
Keigo sighs before giving in, “Fine.”
He shimmies out of his boxers, kicking them under the sheets as he keeps the blankets and covers draped over the both of them. He uncorks the bottle of lube, smoothing it over his leaking cock, shivering at the frigid sensation. Touya grins before turning over, unashamedly sticking his bare ass toward Keigo, whose face turns cherry red.
“You’re so over-the-top today,” Keigo shakes his head as he puts the lube down, fisting his cock to try to get it up in the cold.
“I’m horny. Sue me,” Touya’s voice is muffled; he’s lying face down on his pillow.
Keigo grunts as he starts to slip inside, hands bracing Touya’s hips; Touya bites into the pillow, letting the cloth muffle his moan. Touya’s cock hangs limp between his legs, and his body shudders at the overstimulation.
Keigo swears under his breath. Touya’s insides feel so warm, and he takes him so easily.
The first thrust steals the air from Touya’s lungs.
The second makes him stifle a wail into the pillow.
The third makes his back arch and has him quietly pleading for more.
Keigo’s breath hitches, the pleasure rushing through his body and consuming him as he rocks his hips.
Touya lifts his head, spit practically covering his face from how hard he’s been breathing and drooling on the pillow, and he rests it on the side, letting soft moans pour from his mouth.
“More. More. More. Keigo. Please. Keigo. Keigo ,” He breathes, voice barely audible but coated in lust and greed.
It makes Keigo bite his lip before he can be a hypocrite and blow their cover. It drives him wild when Touya gets insatiable like this. He’s obsessed with how much Touya fervently wants him when they’re intimate.
He’s not going to last long if Touya keeps moaning his name like that.
“Fuck,” Keigo pants under his breath, “ Fuck , Touya~ .”
Now, Touya’s biting his lip, hands gripping the edge of the mattress so tightly he’s white-knuckling. He puts his face back down on the pillow again, and muffled sounds of pleasure reach Keigo’s ears.
Keigo’s eyelids flutter, and he’s getting close. Touya looks so pretty writhing beneath him. He can tell he’s trying so hard to be quiet, but it feels so damn good that he can’t help it. Keigo changes his angle, gently grinding against Touya’s prostate, making Touya flinch and whine.
At this rate, Touya’s going to come untouched.
And, when Touya reaches up to desperately grasp at the headboard and mute his scream by shoving the corner of the pillow into his mouth, Keigo knows that’s exactly what’s happening.
Touya’s body convulses, but Keigo’s grip on his hips stops his legs from buckling.
Only two more strokes and Keigo sighs as he comes inside Touya.
The air is thick and hot, mostly because they’re beneath blankets.
The only sound is their heavy breaths, laden with satisfaction.
The moment Keigo pulls out, Touya lets his body collapse, grimacing at the wet spot beneath him.
“Gross…but worth it,” He yawns, feeling the calm wash over his body. Keigo positions himself half on top of Touya and half on the edge of the mattress.
“You wanna go to the bathroom to clean up?” Keigo nudges him.
“Nah. That’s morning me’s problem,” Touya sighs.
“Morning Touya is gonna be pissed,” Keigo chuckles.
“Like I said. That’s his problem. Fucking tired,” He yawns in response, “Love you, though.”
“Love you, too, Touya,” Keigo grins before kissing Touya’s bare shoulder.
“G’night,” Touya mumbles as his eyes flutter shut.
“Goodnight.”
Weird request, but would you be willing to take a shot at a Dabi headcannon list where the reader's family was friends with the Todoroki family, so he knew her before the fire when she was still a little girl?
A/N: ou, I'll definitely give this one a shot. I took a different approach with this one, so I hope I answered alright. :) I haven't written in months, so I'm kinda rusty and completely ran with this, sorry.
Warnings: slight spoilers for season six of MHA
Touya, despite being an energetic kid, was shy when you first started coming around the Todoroki household.
At first, he would stay hidden and watch you play with his siblings down in the courtyard, opting to observe you through the balcony railing. Or he’d be too focused on training his Quirk in another room.
He never really said all the much to you, only a few words here and there, but that didn’t stop you from trying to interact with him.
As Fuyumi tosses a ball at Natsuo, you spot Touya out of the corner of your eye, who leans back against one of the wooden support beams and observes.
You couldn’t help but grin when you notice him, turning to give him your full attention, and trying to beckon him over with a frantic wave of your hand.
“Touya! Come join us!” You call out towards him, your bright smile never fading as you urged him to play.
Touya glances over at the sound of your voice, his hand tucked inside the pockets of his pants. Averting his eyes and drawing his lips into a thin line, as he contemplates your offer. For a moment, that stubborn look of his fades, and it looks as though he’s about to concede, but at the last minute, he pushes himself off the wooden beam and retreats upstairs.
Your smile faded slightly and your shoulders slump in response to his denial, but your innocent self quickly shakes off the sting of rejection. He probably just wants to train, you think to yourself.
Eventually, as you started to come around the house more often, Touya slowly found himself getting more comfortable around you.
He started talking to you more than he usually did, and rejecting less of your offers to come and play. Oddly enough, whenever you were around, his entire focus was on you.
You could say that this was just innocent child curiosity, but it was something different. The faint blush and quick aversion of his eyes whenever you caught him looking at you, how he occasionally asked Rei when you’d be at the house again, and how excited he got when he’d offer to show you his Quirk.
He loved to innocently tease you, and tell you all about his plans in surpassing All Might, and becoming the Number One Hero. He would go on and on about it, since you were one of the few people who encouraged him and his goals.
Touya’s head immediately poked out of his bedroom when he heard the front door open and close, followed by the familiar sound of your voice. Less than a second later, he quickly makes his way over to the front entrance with an excited bounce in his step.
“C’mon, I wanna show you something cool!” His voice taking on a higher pitch, laced with a sense of urgency. He grins and grabs ahold of your hand, barely giving you enough time to take off your shoes before he’s tugging you down the hallway and into his room.
Your eyes widen in pure awe as he holds up his hand, a bright flame flickering around his closed fists. “That’s so cool! You’re amazing!”
A prideful smile spreads across his face at your response, which fills him up with a sense of satisfaction. There’s also a weird feeling that builds up in his stomach, one that he’s completely unfamiliar with.
“You really think so?!” He questions, almost like he’s not used to this type of reaction. His smile widens and the heel of his right foot digs into the flooring when you nod.
His eyes shift from you to his fiery fist, and then back to you again. That look on your face, along with your praise causes Touya to completely ignore the gnawing heat that his Quirk produces — one that his body is ill equipped at handling.
Years after the incident, now taking on the persona of Dabi, joining the League, and vowing revenge on Endeavor. The bitter reminders of being tossed aside like trash, the constant rejection, and being deemed a failure, all brewed beneath his aloof demeanour.
That hatred wasn’t solely directed at his father, oh no, it stretched to that perfect little masterpiece. That fucking brat, nothing but a puppet.
But, deep beneath his hateful and resentful thoughts, there was one thought that occupied his mind more than he would’ve liked. You.
It would be a lie to say that Dabi didn’t try to get you out of his head, but it rarely seemed to work out in his favour. He would always tell himself that you didn’t matter and that he’s a kid anymore. After all, Touya Todoroki died.
But getting someone like you out of his head was harder than he imagined. Even after everything, he could still see your beaming smile, and hear your innocent words of encouragement.
Thoughts of you even started to distract him during his business with the League, especially when he was out searching for new recruits. Every time he noticed someone that looked even a tiny bit like you, his stomach would instantly knot up. Anxiety? Anticipation? Who knew.
Whenever the League’s activities would venture a little too close to where you lived (again, why did he remember this?) he’d purposely hang back a bit, his impassive expression giving away none of his inner turmoil.
Grief
Summary: Your very own 8 year time skip 🫠gn!Reader is Touyas childhood friend (back again w my favorite trope)
Warnings: I’m sad asf so this’ll be sad asf
Inspired by that one episode of avatar the last airbender that made us all sob growing up yes that one
✦•······················•✦•······················•✦•······················•✦ It had been 8 years since the war. 8, long years without Touya. It’s hard, losing someone so close to you in such a manner. It was like losing a sibling, but much deeper… you still couldn’t put your finger on it. There was something so disconsolate about his death. The way he was made to rot in that life support chamber until he inevitably stopped breathing… but you thought the worst part was how hardly anyone visited him. Shoto came with you most days to visit before he passed, the two of you sitting and talking about your days while Touya listened on the other side of the thick glass.
It was a cripplingly harrowing experience, listening to his short breaths as you tried to bring any sort of comfort to his life, or what remained of it, while his heart still beat in his chest. You thought maybe by talking to him, by visiting, no matter what mood he was in, you might make his suffering more tolerable, and for a while, it seemed like that was the case. Doctors would tell you and Shoto that it seemed he’d be more awake and relaxed upon hearing you would visit, like he was looking forward to it.
But that knowledge made his death sting worse when it came. And it came much sooner than you’d ever wished it would. You’d made a visit with Shoto as usual, and Fuyumi, Rei, and Natsuo had tagged along as well, all taking time to speak with Touya, despite his lack of response. He took his last breath about five minutes after you all left.
Now, you were living peacefully, society restored, Touya put to rest, the world was seemingly back to normal.
You walked along the street, crowds bustling cheerily around you, the world seemed brighter, but somehow also duller, like the world had paid too high a cost for its restoration.
Was it worth it? Was this society worth your losses? You still weren’t entirely certain, your thoughts clouded with the unsettling feeling that enshrouded your days as you bought a bouquet of flowers- the Rindou, a flower that Touya himself introduced you to, it was his moms favorite after all.
It was blue, and vibrant, and sorrowful, but at the same time, the colors carried a life that seemed almost untamable, the very essence of them was ever so familiar to you.
You continued down the street, slowly making your way to a small noodle shop. You sat down, and ordered cold soba, staying a while to appreciate the familiar comfort of Touyas favorite dinner spot- he’d always taken you here whenever he got to chose where you’d have dinner, he’d even introduced it to the rest of the league with you, oh so long ago.
After a while you stood, carrying the beautiful array of flowers with you further down the street, the city slowly fading away as you walked to the outskirts, a path you frequented often.
Before you knew it, you’d reached your destination, the familiar, literally lifeless landscape of the graveyard. You walked amongst the graves, glancing at each one. Everyone there had someone, was someone- a father, a sister, an aunt, a friend, a lover….
But as you approached the familiar grave of the man you loved, you wondered if he had anyone but you at this point. You’d fallen out of contact with the Todoroki family in your grieving, and never bothered to reach out again, unsure if they’d want to see you either. You wondered if Shoto visited as often as you did, and if maybe you’d run into one of them one of these days.
But at that moment, it didn’t really matter to you if you did. At that moment, you had a chance to be alone with Touya, your best friend, your one and only, just once more. You gently laid the flowers neatly against his gravestone, your fingers brushing against his carved-in name, like the very characters themselves were him. But the cold stone beneath your fingertips were quick to remind you.
“I visited the noodle shop today. Your favorite? Yeah, that one. It was nice, but it would’ve been better if you were there”
You laughed softly as you spoke, a small smile forming as tears welled in your eyes. Now, rather than speaking to him face to face, or through glass, you were forced to speak to his gravestone.
“Next time I might bring you some- soba, of course. And I promise I won’t sneak any sushi in the order like last time, I know how you feel about fish”
Before you knew it, your voice had become shaky, those tears now streaming down your face as your smile faltered, your lip quivering as you leaned against the stone.
“Touya… I’m sorry…”
“if only… I could have saved you”
Soon, you’d have to leave and return to your duties, your work, your life. But for now, in this moment, you had a chance to grieve the person you’d loved and lost, as you wept against his gravestone, unaware that he was watching over you, a soft smile on his face, knowing, and chuckling to himself, because you hadn’t really lost him like you thought. He just sat and listened on the other side like he always did.
I’m just really grieving rn 🥲 also I’ll have the rehabilitation au out soon so dw🙏🙏🙏
hey! how are you feeling following these last chapters? tbh i just want it to end already 😅 but i have a question for you!! as a huge shouto and todo-fam fan what would be YOUR preferred ending for them?? either as what could happen in a possible chapter for the epilogue or in more general terms what do you want for them and for shouto in special in the future
Not good. I thought I was going to enjoy the epilogue, but tbh, after this last chapter, I can't imagine reading about Eri singing or having another Sport Festival without wanting to throw my laptop across the room.
The Todoroki family is really in a tough spot currently, because I don't really see an straightforward way to satisfy all the different characters' arcs. But for me, it should have the following components:
Touya lives. This is a big one. With Tomura, you could argue that he helped bring down AFO, with Toga you could say that her heart was saved, but where Touya was left off? A death would serve no narrative purpose. Even just with an open ending, there needs to be a hope that he can get better.
Enji delivers on his "I'll watch Touya" promise. He needs to make some kind of sacrifice where he puts his family first over his hero career. What form this will take? Idk.
Shouto and Touya need a moment. That moment of connection where Touya saw Shouto as a child needs to be spoken into existence somehow. I don't expect anything as sweet or idyllic as the Tgchk or Deku-Tenko moments, but I think Shouto deserves an opening from Touya even if it comes as a sarcastic comment about favourite foods. Like something fittingly low-key that gives us a glimpse of how they could eventually down the line build something.
Enji and Rei need to take Shouto off the pedestal and embrace him as a child. Shouto getting the "family hero label" and all the expectations that come with that now needs to stop. All the kids are masterpieces in their own beautiful ways and Shouto should be embraced with the unconditional love he deserves without any pressure of who he needs to be and what he needs to deliver to get it. All the other kids too.
Public fall-out addressed. This is a bit a stress-test on a society level. I think it's a given that the Todoroki family will stand by Touya (in contrast to Toga's parents who quickly disowned her). What will happen with Touya (prison, mental clinic, house arrest, some secret rehab program) is a test to see if anything changed. Also, how the public relates to Shouto who chose to save his villain brother, who is tainted by family scandals is a big question.
In the end, I'm hoping for an open, but somewhat hopeful ending. Rei, Fuyumi and Natsuo living in the new house, Touya getting the help he needs with a rehabilitation path, Enji putting him first and Shouto while obviously will keep his family close in his heart, being freed from the "hero role" and can be free to work on his own path and joining his friends.
I don't mind if he forgives Endeavor even - I feel like that's something he may decide for himself just to be rid of the anger, but it's a difficult balance because the past cannot be forgotten. So I definitely don't want the whiplash of a sudden chummy relationship with Endeavor and Shouto being handled as Endeavor's redemption trophy.
I think also a long-overdue hug from Rei and a reason to make Shouto smile genuinely are the only things I'm hoping from the epilogue.
Short, belated Christmas fanfiction
Idea comes from @ blu3_firee on Twitter / X. I got permission beforehand to wrap it in a fanfiction
➡️Click here for his basic principle⬅️
Please note that English is not my first language. So forgive me for mistakes
Lonely as always
The snow fell thick and heavy, each flake another veil that enveloped the cool, gray city in icy silence. A man's footsteps dug deep into the untouched blanket of snow, leaving a lonely path that disappeared into the distance. Dabi pulled his worn black coat tighter around himself, even though the cold didn't bother him. His hands, covered with the scarred marks of his flames, were in his pockets. His breathing, easily visible in the cold air, was calm, but his eyes were empty - cold blue fires that never rested.
"Tch... Merry Christmas," he murmured quietly to himself, the words heavy with irony.
The city around him was bathed in warm light - windows decorated with colorful lights and garlands made the streets seem almost inviting. Families walked past him laughing, laden with gifts and wrapped in thick coats. Dabi snorted. The sight tightened his chest, not from cold, but from another, deeper emptiness.
It didn't take long to reach the abandoned house – his hiding place. It was on the outskirts of town, far from the busy streets and happy faces. The windows were broken, the doors creaked, and snow had collected in the corners of the porch. Dabi opened the door with a slight tug and stepped inside. It was quiet, almost eerily, but it offered shelter from the snow flurry outside.
"At least it keeps the wind out," he muttered, closing the door behind him.
His footsteps echoed on the creaky floor as he walked down the dim hallway into the living room. The room was bare. No lights, no decorations, nothing to indicate the festive occasion. Instead, there was just an old, dusty fireplace against the wall, flanked by a few half-decayed pieces of furniture.
Dabi knelt in front of the fireplace and held out a hand. With a slight hiss, its blue flames ignited, illuminating the room in a cold, unreal light. The logs that he had placed there at some point quickly caught fire, and soon a faint crackling sound filled the room.
He leaned back, sat on the floor and looked around the empty living room. "What a shithole," he muttered dryly, but his tone wasn't really angry. More resigned.
His eyes fell on the old, dusty shelf next to the fireplace. On it was a framed photograph - a sight that hit him like a punch in the stomach. Slowly he stood up and reached for it.
The photo showed a family, his family. Rei with her gentle smile, Fuyumi and Natsuo, both still children, and Shoto, who was still a toddler at the time. And of course... Enji. His face, however, was barely recognizable. It was scribbled with angry, confused lines, a mixture of red and black that showed only too clearly how deep the hatred ran.
"Merry Christmas, huh? You all look so damn happy." His voice was a dangerous whisper, laced with bitterness. His fingers tightened around the frame until his knuckles turned white.
He stared at the picture for a long time, his eyes fixed mainly on his father's crossed-out face. "You were everything I wanted. Everything I needed..." His voice broke briefly before he got it under control again. "But no, I was never enough for you. Just a damn tool that was too weak."
He finally lowered the picture, his hand shaking slightly, before he put it back on the shelf. The crackling of the flames was the only sound in the room, but a storm raged in his head. The memories of countless Christmas evenings flooded over him. No tree, no presents, no lights - just training, pain, and his father's implacable judgment.
"Natsuo, Fuyumi... At least you had something from her." His tone was quieter now, almost soft, as he thought of his siblings. "But Shoto and I? We only had him."
He sank back to the floor, his knees drawn up, his arms resting on them. The flickering flames cast long shadows on the walls, but they could not drive away the darkness within him.
"Enji Todoroki," he said, almost like a prayer, except there was no hint of mercy in his voice. "You ruined Christmas before I could even understand what it meant."
a/n: wanted to go into depth about pro hero dabi with a small little angsty drabble! we get to see all the family together and how they cope with normal family arguments and not their brother/son literally being a villainous murderer.
Family dinners at the Todoroki household had become something far and few in-between due to the recent success of proheroes Dabi and Shoto. It seemed as though the entire atmosphere changed when the two brothers were missing dinner and instead being shown on the television for the rest of the family to see. There was a motherly pride not only radiating from Rei but Fuyumi as well, watching the men cover their screen. Advertisements, interviews, news segments and entertainment show spots were just some of the things that they would sometimes catch at the right time.
Endeavor, who always knew his sons were bound for great success because of his training, kept mum on their celebrity. Why comment on the inevitable? The only one who didn’t seem to understand was Natsuo. Natsuo tried to live a normal life. He chose college, a normal job, dating on his own terms and at his own time. He didn’t want what could come from being a hero.
The Todoroki family had always been a close knit unit. There was nothing they didn’t know about each other. But when Natsuo could feel the separation widening within this unit, he began to pull away from the brothers. That was until the family were sitting at the table with all sorts of expressions when the pushy Dabi got Natsuo to chirp about his new fling.
“Touya, eat your food. Mom and I worked really hard on it.” fuyumi scolded her brother, resting her wrist on the table with an annoyed appearance dressing her face. She hated when Touya got chatty, it would always lead to someone getting defensive over his brash commentary. She knew Natsuo was his next victim.
“I will but this has a bit more flavor,” Touya propped his hand in the air to exaggerate his statement. Pinching his fingers together, he kissed his fingertips before leaning over the food slightly to intimidate his brother into talking. “Seriously Natsuo? When did this happen?”
Shoto always maintained a neutral stance, but he couldn’t help but realize the pest Touya could be. “When he’s ready, he will tell us.”
“Shoto,” piercing blue eyes snapped to the youngest with agitation, “shut up.”
Natsuo could feel the spotlight on him burning brighter as he was put in the hotseat. The cameras were for the other boys, not him. He wasn’t good with moments like this. “Ah, it’s stupid, maybe she’s a rebound–” he tried, chuckling with his eyes glued to his food.
“It’s not stupid!” Touya's face lit up again before his fists banged against the table, grabbing all of his family’s attention. Even Enji was startled. “My brother gets a new girlfriend and it seems like all of my family knows but me!” The wide grin he had was beginning to shake as he stared at his brother– his supposed best friend. “ I wanna know about her. We’re supposed to be close.”
“How close can anyone really be to the number 2 hero anymore?” Natsuo didn’t mean for it to come off so harsh. He looked apologetic the moment he was finished, spotting a frown on his older brother's face.
“What? I make time. As much as I can.” Touya scoffed, brushing his brother off with his hand waving in the other direction. It was a front, even you, his fiance sitting besides him knew that. There was a very loud silence in the room. No one said anything, even you. It made him flush with embarrassment. “I make time,” his voice went cold and filled with hurt.
“Please don’t start at the table…please.” Rei begged, holding out a hand to reach for her son.
“Where is this coming from?” Touya didn’t stop, looking around the table to realize not a single individual was looking him in the eyes.
“Touya,” his mother tried again.
“Mom–” he snapped, yanking his hand from her touch all while stitching his brows. “So you all wanna be quiet when I’m asking you a question? You all feel like this?”
Rei didn’t want to see dinner ruined after many days of seeing one of her children missing from the table for various reasons. One good meal with her babies and she would be fine. “Touya, we can think of something else to talk about, yeah? This is a discussion you two can have afterwards.”
“No, if this is something you all wanna be tight lipped about, I’m not talking about anything.” He dropped his utensils on the table and dusted his hands on his clothes before looking Natsuo in the eyes. Natsuo stared at him in regret. The eldest stood from his seat to point at his brother. “I’m sorry being number 2 makes your skin burn but I’m not the only brother in the top 10 and I don’t see anyone giving Shoto heat for his success. I’m successful.”
“It’s not about that Touya–”
“Oh piss off Fuyumi, you’re a school teacher. You can come home after your nine to five without a scratch on you and they’d still love you more than the one fighting for their lives,” he barked at his sister, tilting his head down before holding a hand out for you to take. “Come on. We’re going home.”
As you stood up, you whispered a goodbye to the family and sauntered off with him. The table split looks of either disapproval or shock. They knew Dabi was a hot head but one thing they didn’t really understand was how emotionally charged he was. That night was only opening the cover page of his chapter book of feelings and emotions. As the family once again sat in silence, Rei jumped from her seat to chase the both of you down.
“Touya!” Rei trekked through the corridor to spot the both of you prior to you stepping down the stairs. “Touya wait!”
“There’s nothing you can say to make me stay. We’re going home, ma.” he didn’t want to hear it. He knew it would be an excuse to come back inside and finish a plate in silence.
“I’m not here to stop you.” his mother spoke up and out of breath. “I just wanna talk to you,” sending you a gracious glance, her focus shifted back to her son. “Just you.” it was a cue for you to leave, though being engaged to someone like Dabi, you made sure to never be too far away. You found comfort taking a few more steps to pause at the bridge that went over that small pond you adored.
“Natsuo is just a bit sensitive. You aren’t just brothers but you’re his best friend. He feels like he’s losing you to the rest of Japan.” Rei placed her hand on her son’s shoulder.
‘Why doesn’t he treat Shoto with that same shitty logic? I’m not stopping him from becoming a goddamn hero.”
“You watch your mouth,” his mother spat. “And he’s not that close with Shoto. No one is.”
Touya tried to take a step back from his anger and think about his next words. While he was heated, he felt more hurt than anything. “I try to come around,” his voice hushed to avoid anyone other than his mother hearing him be vulnerable. “Do you think I spend too much time away from you guys?” he quizzed. “Mom?”
“I think we have a very complicated family dynamic.” Touya rolled his eyes but looked back to his mother as she continued to speak. “I don’t want you to feel bad about the time you spend away doing what you love or being with who you love. You save people, Touya. I’m proud of you. You could have been doing anything else in the world. With all the things your father has put you through I’m more shocked you stuck to your guns and became a hero. You and Fuyumi try your hardest to keep this family together. Natsuo is scared. We all are.” He tried…he really tried hearing his mother’s side and from the bridge, you could see his face falling.
“Of what? I can take care of myself.” Touya’s brows stitched together as he raised his hands to emphasize the world around him.
“Japan needs Dabi, but we need Touya. I need Touya.” Rei scolded, “you’re my baby and I would never ask you to stretch yourself thin. If you’re trying and your brothers and sister cannot seem to understand it, let yourself be misunderstood. You do what is best for you. I always told you that.” Placing her hand on her son’s chest, she gave him a nod of approval.
He tried to stand strong, but he couldn’t. Dabi took his mothers hand and kissed her knuckles, staring into her steel colored eyes. “I think we’re going to head home.”
“Will you talk to Natsuo before you go?”
“I’ll head back over tomorrow. I promised my fiancé some alone time.” grabbing the back of his mother’s head, he kissed the top of her head. “I love you Ma.” backing away from his mother, he waved her a small goodbye before scraping his shoes along the dirt and holding a hand out for you to take as he stepped up the bridge.
This might be an odd question, but do you have any tips or preferences when it comes writing Natsuo? Asking for *ahem* reasons...
Ok well I guess like with all fanfic writing I use canon as a jumping point. He’s not exactly a flat character because the few moments he’s given imply a lot of depth, and it’s pretty fun to tease out that depth.
What we know from canon:
Out of all his siblings, Natsuo is the only one who appears to have a “normal” social life. He has a girlfriend who he presumably met during a university class, and he’s implied to prefer hanging out with her and his other friends instead of going back to visit his childhood home (much to Fuyumi’s annoyance lol). Based on his interactions with others he seems to be a sociable and friendly person (when Endeavor isn’t around to sour the mood at least). Personality-wise he also seems to be a confrontational person, in the sense that time and again he doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable conversations or topics- he prefers to air out all the grievances instead of letting them fester.
Currently, he and Fuyumi are the closest out of all the family members. They grew up together and they have the most normal sibling relationship out of everyone (the bar is on the ground tho aljsbd). In the scene where we first see them visiting Rei in the hospital together we also see them bantering and playfully poking at each other and he loves and respects her enough to put up with Endeavor for her sake.
It is no secret that Natsuo despises Endeavor—for being responsible for Touya’s death, for his treatment of Rei and Shouto and most likely also for the way he left Fuyumi as the responsible “adult” in charge of the home. The latter is implied from the way Natsuo spoke about how he tried to help her, ie with the cooking, but he was forced to stop when Endeavor complained about his cooking so it became Fuyumi’s responsibility again.
Then there’s all the trauma surrounding Touya, the way he feels like his brother wouldn’t have had to die (and become a villain) if only he’d listened to him when he needed it and maybe talked him out of some of his more extreme beliefs. It’s implied that he’s studying his current degree (medical welfare I think?) because of Touya, because he wants to help more people like his brother. There’s a lot of (irrational) guilt wrapped up in his feelings about Touya, but as seen in recent chapters he’s willing to put in the work and walk the long and difficult road to mend things between Touya and the rest of the family.
Now onto headcanon territory (most of which are extrapolated from canon):
I think that he has extremely low self esteem, due to the neglect he suffered while growing up. Not just from Endeavor, but from Rei too—here’s some thoughts I’ve already had about this, copy-pasted from the end AN of ch13 in WHFO:
I've always gotten the feeling that she and Natsuo were never particularly close, especially before she was hospitalised. Because he must've been what, 3 when she had to pass him over to be raised by the housekeeper while she completely shifted her focus to Shouto? Not to mention that his physical resemblance to Endeavor would've made it hard for her to even look at him, especially as her mental health spiralled. I just feel like Rei never really got much of a chance to get close to him the way she did with her other children, which is sad because that means Natsuo didn't have much of a relationship with either of his parents when he needed it most during his formative years faksjdlfs that is most definitely not going to have an impact on him at all, nope :)
Expanding on that I think he is also incredibly affection starved, and even as he strives to make a life for himself outside the family a part of him might always find it hard to accept praise or even just the idea that people would genuinely think he’s great to be around or good at things in general. Just you know, general symptoms of someone who had a childhood of emotional neglect.
Because of the whole thing with Rei I also think that he’s hyperaware of how much he physically resembles Endeavor. Does this mean he’s probably insecure about his looks as a result? Yes I do like to think so, especially for the Angst™️. It also doesn’t help that all of his other siblings look like their mum so he’s got that extra dose of feeling like the odd one out.
I also really like the headcanon that he inherited Endeavor’s short temper and general anger issues. Not only because that’s Angst Deluxe, but also because it would be interesting to explore how he grapples with it, and the internal conflict he feels about how scared he is of becoming like his father. This is why I love writing scenes where he’s arguing with his siblings or shouts at them only to watch them flinch because the psychic damage + self-loathing that would follow? Impeccable. Unparalleled. 👌
Amnesia!Dabi
Ok, I said it briefly before, but I feel this needs its own thing.
Dabi’s been staying at home the Todoroki’s He’s been staying with the Todoroki’s for a bit. He’s had a few triggers pulled, he’s starting to believe he’s actually Touya. He digs through the minor stuff he brought with him, pulls out his notebooks full of theories and stuff he knows about himself. He keeps the one full of stuff he knows, but decides to chuck out the one full of theories. I mean, he knows who he is now, (right?). Only, Shouto sees him with the notebooks, and asks what they are.
Natsuo comes in ten minutes later. Stares a minute. “Sho. What are you doing?”
Shouto: “We’re looking through Touya’s theories on who he is, and why he might have memory loss.”
Natsuo: “… . but we KNOW who he is.”
Shouto: “That means nothing. We don’t know what happened after.”
Natsuo: “… . really.”
Dabi: “I still say government experiment would make a lot of sense.”
Natsuo opens his mouth. Closes it. “Let me see.”
An hour later, Fuyumi walks in to the three of them (and Himiko) debating how likely it is Dabi is a victim of time travel.
-
Oh yeah no it!
That is probably one of the larger mysteries for them because like. They have no idea what happened between the fire and Toya waking up with amnesia. And that bothers them because clearly something did happen or else he would’ve been found in the aftermath of the fire.
But also they’re going nuts with the options so.
Enji: “You know what I’m throwing my vote in for government experiment. That Commission Representative was real upset I wouldn’t let him get his hands on you.”
Hawks: “Oh I’m going to unpack that red flag of a statement later, but I don’t think it’s the Commission. They wouldn’t let you escape, and if you did they wouldn’t let you talk.”
Himiko: “You’re going to have to explain to me how that statement was /less/ of a red flag!”
Shoto: “I’m arguing in favor of AfO being involved. It would explain the horns and tail situation.”
Enji: “Oh no that makes the most sense about this.”
Natsuo: “How does that make sense?!”
Enji: “Whatever he went through caused another Awakening, sometimes Awakenings pull from dormant genetics instead of evolving a Quirk, so you rolled the dice and got my father’s Quirk.”
Toya: “Back up. What do you mean ‘another’ Awakening?”
Burnin: “I was kicking your ass in the Sports Festival and you got so mad about that your fire went from normal red to blue.”
Toya: “... Okay follow up question because this is the first time anyone’s mentioned grandparents so Grandpa has a Mutation Quirk?”
Enji: “Before you ask further, my parents are dead and Rei’s parents fucking suck. It was kinda funny to think about them realizing the potential for their grandchildren to be ‘some filthy mutts’.”
Fuyumi: “Actually now that you mention it, I’m throwing them in the ring for this situation. They’re sketchy as hell rich people I wouldn’t put it past kidnapping.”
Himiko: “I’m voting on Fuyumi’s side!”
Bnha 391 and General Small Comment;
Ok so i didnt like a lot of things with bnha lately for most of the things, especially how story deal with its villains. Yeah, it is not over but until now, i dont think its good. Story focus on power more than it focus on actually adressing the flaws of society author build up at first place.
- Deku hasnt speak to Shigaraki yet but until this point, the way he dealt with villains, his interaction with them isnt good enough. like, you cant change things by keep saying everthing black and white or saying there is hope. I think story didnt give enough character development for Izuku to come that point so at least, i hope, Shiggy will do something about it.
- Todoroki family plot bad. It was always bad because of how much story focus on Endeavour’s bad written redemption arc, he literally choose everyone over Touya since beginning until the end, i hate how he casually hugs him and speak over him when Touya was talking. Guy kinda feels guilty, yeah, but he express that ‘guilt’ in a very selfish way that it drives me nuts. Literally your typical abuser. I cant believe of all people, Endeavour has to be the one who close to him, not Rei, not his siblings but him...And with other family members too. I think some people already talked about this, that main problem with Todoroki family is that they keep blaming him for speaking up and once again, if this is the final arc for Todo family, Fuyumi and Natsuo’s speech sucks.
With Shouto, i think the problem is that bnha is a story about saving people’s hearth, not psychically defeating them and as readers, we should witness that change between Shouto and Dabi, that beginning point (like ‘your power’ scene for Shouto) didnt happen yet. And i wonder, do anyone remember um fake heroes plot? Endeavour’s bad hero career with how violently he attacks towards criminal from Twice’s speech chapter or how he almost killed Koichi in vigilantes? Dabi’s speech? What is the point of all of these things, if its not gonna be adressed properly, especially between Dabi and Shouto since they are villain and hero. I know its not over but until now, it was bad. To be honest, only thing i am satisfied with Todo family plot is Rei and Touya interaction. It looks like the only one its completed for final arc. Because she literally choose Touya over millions to save him, no justification, no victim blaming, no anger, just a worried mother, calling her son’s name and tells that she is sorry, and thats it. She doesnt make whole speech and self pity, unlike Bakugou and Endeavour. See the difference. And if author wasnt so obsessed with Endeavour’s nonexistent redemption arc, i am sure that we would get more of Rei. She did what she could do best for Touya as civillian, ordinary person. This part of story is fine but others? Bad.
- Allmight and others too. I dont want to talk about every detail because you know the summary, flaws of society isnt adressed properly/at all and story focus on power dynamic and etc.
But for at least this chapter, i would like to say, i kinda like this one. Uraraka and Toga development, interaction. At first, Uraraka would brush off everything Toga said and does, which makes sense since she was from other side. And Toga would talk your typical villain but after that Toga crying scene, Uraraka seems to be able empathize with her than many other heroes ever could for villains. The way she just accepted that she was wrong about her, that she changed her mind, she also knows that she is in pain and she says sorry, she is not angry, she is not rejecting her, she tells her that she found her. I mean, look at her face when she speaks to her. Like, great start, Uraraka. I think there are still many issues with story and how fast everything happens but i really like this one. It feels like an actually hero speech who geniuely wants to empathize with villain, completely stranger, just a girl who is like her. Unlike before, she doesnt talk like a robot with ‘you did commit crime so everything happens to you, you deserve it’ type of attitude. No. This time Uraraka is different.
At least for this chapter, for now, Uraraka Ochaco is rising.
Edit; I made it Clear that i write this based on my personal opinion. Literally, every second of this post is "i think". Certain people use this to insult and harass me. It just shows what kind of people they are. If you disagree, make your own post without mentioning/making me involve in any way. Of course, if you want to debate about series with respect, i dont mind. I dont think being kind is too hard.
fuck it. now that we got this ball rolling, i might write it later tonight, like maybe enji dies after a surgery where he tries to save dabi because he feels nothing but guilt and deep down, he knows that all of this was his fault and he can’t handle that. a weird kind of suicide if you could it that.
shoto finally feels like he can tell someone about it without fear that someone will tell their father and when dabi is in the hospital recovering, shoto wants to have a heart to heart and he tells dabi everything that’s happened.
“he did it to me, too. i was too scared to tell anyone. you can talk to me about this, touya.”
and dabi is crying and screaming and in hysterics the entire time. he’s quiet at first but accuses shoto of lying until shoto repeats the words that enji told him and dabi can’t deny it but he doesn’t want to believe it. he’s hurt. he’s confused. he doesn’t know what’s real anymore and he’s about to reach over and choke shoto.
it would be so tragic. shoto wants to help and wants to be there, but dabi cannot stand him. how can he when he’s been replaced by shoto yet again? he just wants to be special—he wants to be important too but everything has always been about shoto, shoto, shoto.
i hurt myself with this guh. sorry i cannot stfu
Omfggg
This whole concept is great and I'd read tf outta it if you do get around to writing it (no pressure of course)
The most heartbreaking part of Enji abusing one of the other kids for Touya i feel is definitely just that-- Touya thinking that when Enji sexually abuses him it's this special kind of love only he and Enji have, and even though Enji doesn't want him for his quirk he wants him for his body and that's good enough for Touya. Esp with grooming stuff, like Enji telling him that the abuse is "another type of training" and "something else he can be good for since his quirk isn't strong enough to be a hero." Touya would eat it up bc he wants to be important and special to his Dad more than anything. He'd feel special knowing Daddy only spent special time with him and not any of his siblings. Then to learn he was doing it with Shouto too? That would be world shattering.
I really like parallels between Touya and Shouto in that regard too. Touya seeing the abuse as love, and something special and good, and Shouto recognizes it as just another type of abuse, another way to control him. Esp with the contrast that Shouto got/has more of a support system than Touya. Shouto got comfort from Rei that Touya never got, even if it was only until she was hospitalized, Rei was a Mom to Shouto and not really one to Touya, so Shouto knew to an extent what actual paternal love and care was. Even rhough he was isolated for a while, Shouto got close with Izuku, Bakugo and other class 1A students too, and if he told them what Enji did they'd support and validate him. So he recognizes its wrong. Sees it for what it is. But Touya didn't have any of that. He wasn't really close with anybody in his family besides maybe Natsuo would couldn't grasp something that heavy. He and Rei were not close either and we never saw Rei comfort and validate Touya like she did Shouto. Touya also didn't have friends growing up, then after the coma lived on the street and presumably didn't have anybody then. He really grew up with no support system or actual displays of love and affection, so the closest thing he got was Enji and the abuse he was subjected to. He wouldn't know different and I think that's such an interesting contrasting concept to fit into this kinda idea with them too.
