BatFam X VtM
Time to combine another of my 2 hyperfixations of the month. I'm gonna match each Batfam member with what vsmpire the masquerade clan i think they would be and my reasonings. Some have multiple clans they could be so I've tried to narrow it down to 1 and reason why I didn't go with another. If this was an actual AU it would probably make more sense for them all to mainly be the same clan as Bruce but this menagerie of a coterie is more interesting and fits each character, so without further ado.
Bruce Wayne
Ventrue
The blue bloods, known for their honour and pride, they rule from up above, embracing CEOs and modern aristocrats alike. For the prince of Gotham, chairman of Wayne Enterprises, I don't think there's a more perfect fit. Bruce at his best and worse embodies the values the clan of kings holds. He's a ruler through lineage, ruling his subject from up high, but the clan compulsion of arrogance and belief of knowing best make him come across as stubborn and apathetic to others concerns if he's ruled on a matter already.
The only other clans I could maybe see for bruce would be Lasombra or Toreador, with the former being know for their obtenebration and the latter for their ability to play the games of socialites. However those aspects are more masks Bruce wears when playing either brucie wayne or batman, not truly who he is.
Dick grayson
Ravnos
This isn't because he's Romani in some iterations but it's a nice extra. No, Dick is a Ravnos because he's a perfect fit. The Ravnos are the daredevils of the vampire world, their blood literally compels them to tempt fate, they also can't sleep in the same place for more than a couple of nights; what clan would fit our ex-travelling circus acrobat than them?
Truly I think Ravnos is the best fit for Dick, however some versions of him are more well known for being a seducer, and have become part of his Fannon; because of that the argument could be made for Toreador.
Jason Todd
Banu Haqim
The Assamites, judged by western kindred as frothing diablerists when really they're guardians, warriors and judges of the corrupt. Really, it was when I got to Jason that I knew I had to write all these matches down. This is the perfect fit to the point that I'm sure others must've headcannoned it. Their compulsion is judgement, forcing them to punish anyone who breaks their moral code, they also chafe against their fellow vampires; falling to a bloodlist if they taste the vitae of another kindred.
If you were writing Jason with the Fannon pit madness I could see the argument for Malkavian, and if your specifically talking about when Jason was Robin I'd say he fits more closely to Brujah; being a spitfire. But as the Red Hood? Jason is a child of Haqim.
Tim drake
Tremere
Just as choosing Jason's sealed my need to write this post, trying to choose Tim's nearly made me give up. Tim is my least read character and as such it's harder to split Fannon from Cannon, so please bare with me. The Tremere are the second youngest clan, they're also know as the Usurpers. They weren't chosen by vampirism but rather they chose it. The Tremere are hated by several clans for this transgression, including the Banu Haqim, who see their blood magic as a knock-off of their own. The Tremere are perfectionists, constantly seeking new rituals and knowledge; isolating themselves in chantries until they've got their newest project just right. Is this not Tim Drake?
I do love the flavor text this creates, being the second youngest and having beef with Jason from the get go. But on a deeper level, choosing to be Robin, being a perfectionist and also being insecure in their status as a hero/vampire? I think this is a perfect match.
Other clans I could see for Tim would be Nosferatu, being secret keepers and traders alike, or another Ventrue like Bruce, since they both come from money. However I have a better fit for the Nossies and I want to avoid repeating clans if i can.
Damien Wayne-Al Ghul
Lasombra
Like the Ventrue the Lasombra are born rulers, however, unlike the bluebloods, for the Lasombra might makes right. You're embraced into the clan when you're put through a gauntlet that systematically destroys your life; if you get back up your embraced, if not? You're left to die. The night clan coat themselves in shadows, manipulating and striking from them. They have a penchant for religion, ruling over the masses, however their bane of callousness means that they have a hard time relating to humans, sometimes even other kindred, letting more and more of their humanity slip.
If this doesn't describe the heir of the demon, who grows up in a religious, assassin cult, where he has to kill or be killed then I dont know what clan will. He's literally from the league of shadows. I also think it would irk a Ventrue Bruce for his child to be more adept with shadows than himself.
I could see Damian as a Ventrue like his father, as his behavior can be read as arrogance rather than callousness, it would also be in line with his "true heir" hang up. Also, Nanda Parbat seems to just be a copy-paste of Alamut so, along with the Banu Haqim being assassins, I could also see the argument for them claiming Damien aswell, that would also feed my favorite trope of Damien and Jason having the best brotherly bond.
Barbara Gordon
Nosferatu
Second disclaimer of the post, this choice isn't due to her disability. The Nossies are the information brokers of kindred society. Living in abandoned places, yet lying in plan sight (like a massive clocktower) the clan of the hidden employ animalism to make spy's out of rat's and city birds, if there was ever a clan who embraced the modern world it's the nosferatu. Because of this The vagrants are the most tech savvy of the clans, creating Shrek net, the dark web for vampires.
Because of this I think our information queen would be at home with the Nossies. I think Barbara is the most single-clan character but maybe also Banu Haqim? They do embrace from law enforcement after all.
Stephanie Brown
Brujah
The rebels without a cause, they always want a cause to get behind, jumping from one to the other once one no longer fits. I think for Steph, who got into the vigilante game to spite her father (very much giving Troile the younger vibes), the clan of rebels would be the perfect home. She's also bounced between the most code names: spoiler, Robin, batgirl. She's always seeking the next goal. Furthermore she's not from money, she's a punk kid from Gotham who decided to fight back. Because of this Brujah is an easy choice.
If you wanted to go with the more feral™ energy she has in Fannon I could also see the argument for Gangrel, her being the wild child, but I think she's more the wild of rebellion rather than of the woods.
Cassandra Cain
Salubri
Hear me out. Not one of the 13 however I really do think it fits, the Salubri are constantly hunted, they're one of a kind and, in a society of killers, they suffer from affective empathy, making them want to resolve the hurts of others. Just kidding, I just described cass' upbringing, actually I described both. The unicorns also have access to the widest range of disciplines naturally, suiting our skilled assassin. Also the Salubri let their childe diablerize them, giving them the best headstart in life in the most bloody way possible, similar to how Lady Shiva has a very odd way of trying to make Cass stronger.
This is the one of the most out there ones. like alot of the BatFam, Cass could also be Banu Haqim but I do think her inherent character trait of renouncing her violent nature makes her a kindred (pun intended) spirit to the Salubri.
Duke Thomas
Kiasyd
Okay so this is fully a bloodline, but stay with me. The Kiasyd are a bloodline of the Lasombra with some Faery blood mixed in, this parallels Duke's metapowers causing him to stand apart from the rest of the family, just as faery blood causes the Kiasyds to stand apart from vampire society as a whole. They're also known for their magic using Mytherceria and Obtenebration, which together I think replicate Duke's meta abilities. Lastly the Kiasyd are oddballs, they act peculiar even for vampires, much like a crime-fighting vigilante being the only one to fight villains during the day.
This could be seen as a reach, but I think my justifications are valid. Really any clan that has magic could be a fair match, a fun alternative could also be Gargoyles, as they're the only clan that can naturally stay outside during the day.
And that finishes all the BatFam members I know well enough to assign clans to. If you have any ideas for Jaro, Bluebird, Kate Cane, or even the ones I covered but disagree with let me know! I'd like to have a member to cover each clan so we're missing Gangrel, Hecata/Giovanni, Malkavian, Set/Ministry, Toreador and Tzimisce. If you made it this far thank you so much and I hope you enjoyed.

Arcane Characters as VTM Clans
Singed - Tzimisce. I don't think I have to explain but I will. Because not only have we seen Singed do fucked bodyhorror shit on screen multiple times, but he's also a scientist and a scholar in the way the Tzimisce are scientists and scholars: feared, respected and left alone to do their stuff.
Silco - Caitiff. Because I feel like Silco is the type to get abandoned by his sire. I don't think any of the other clans fit. The way he was outcasted and then forcefully reentered Zaun seems more like "mistaken embrace" than "thinblood". And also why he was so willing to accept Jinx, another outcast, into his crew.
Vander - Brujah. Sure, Singed is almost surely making him into Warwick but that doesn't make him a Gangrel. Vander is heart to a fault.
Ekko - Nosferatu. Because the Firelights protect their home the way Nos protect their clan and the warrens. Ekko has that "family first" energy but in the Nos way rather than the Hecata way. And also the Firelights as a whole give me Nosferatu energy with the masks and the zipping around and the hiding.
Jinx - Hear me out. Jinx is a Toreador with a derangement. Jinx is a mad scientist and a tortured artist. She's obsessive and creative and definitely committed to the theatrics. I also think Malkavian masking as a Toreador would work for Jinx. I just feel like Malkavian by itself isn't right, idk.
Vi - Also a Brujah, because she wears her heart on her fucking sleeve. And she's a rebel, even in her Enforcer era. And because Vander is her sire.
Caitlyn - Ventrue. The whole Kiramman thing plus the rich as fuck, plus the pig righteousness, plus everything in her attitude. Also because of the audacity.
Jayce - Tremere because. Just because. No but like he just reminds me of the Tremere and because he has and will backstab people to accomplish his goals. Jayce also has a lot of enemies... very Tremere of him. And the whole scientist thing. Yeah, Tremere.
Viktor - Also a Tzimisce, though I feel like there are definitely other options for Viktor. But like the hexcore body shit is very fleshcrafting vibes. Singed could totally be his sire, but like the bond has def faded.
Sevika - Banu Haqim because she's so so deadly. Definetly a warrior. And because I feel like Sevika lives by her own personal moral code and that is very Banu to me. Also also because I have a soft spot for this clan and for Sevika.
Mel - Toreador, except instead of fans she has "her people", the people of Piltover and my god does she revel in their adoration and approval. And also she is an artist, a painter even though it's not a super prominent thing. She's just so Toreader coded, the outfits, the makeup, everything.
Ambessa - Lasombra, because she is ruthless and noble and because you know Ambessa Medarda definetly has Potence 5.
Heimerdinger - Heim really reminds me of a Tremere, but I don't think he is one. I kinda wanna say Ravnos because I feel like Heim has Chimerstry, but also Heimerdinger has fae vibes and might not even be a vampire.
#i am willing to be convinced#vtm#arcane#vampire the masquerade#v20#arcane season 2#arcane spoilers#definitely stereotyping for some of the clans here but sometimes the obvious is the correct choice#we love that the oldest character in this list is the one i think is the least kindred-coded#but yeah this just started cause i was like “singed is a tzimisce” while watching s2 and now here we are#i truly am not certain in some of these this list may get updated as i think of other things#i feel like arcane is popular enough for the character names to not be spellchecked anymore but idk what metric decides that#singed#silco#vander#ekko#jinx#vi#caitlyn#jayce#viktor#sevika#mel#ambessa#heimerdinger

astarion is so vtm-coded im tired of not saying it
"unable to disobey his maker, he was forced to seduce and bring home pretty young things for his master to feed/do wild bloodmagic experiments on and any infraction results in torture funtimes" is classic vtm bloodbonded sire and childe. literally at least three clans could and would do this. "his bond of obedience has been MAGICALLY BROKEN and he's hunting for a way to secure his freedom forever and extract revenge" ok, baby sabbat.
also, the idea of him skulking around TAVERNS makes me laugh every time it comes up. like. no babes. you belong in a laser-lights early 00s industrial rave nightclub. he can even keep his camp clothes on and not be out of place.
his twisted relationship with sex and violence is also ground-floor vtm. everything is violent. everything is murky shades of grey. everything is sexy. masks upon masks upon layers of lies and broken identity.
he's just a lil boy who wants to have fun.
sure sure sure. "bad coping mechanisms" but his story isn't about dumping them, it's about freedom.
he hurts people to feel good. he's sadistic and has a level of excitement around blood and gore that's distinctly Uncomfy. he's a bully, a racist, and a selfish dirtbag who can't see beyond "me and mine" as ppl worthy to consider or care about. don't tie yourself in knots trying to talk your way out of your fave being "bad". the fandom police won't come for you. just EMBRACE IT.
#honestly in this way the vtm fandom is so healthy and so is any Dark fandom#like when the canon has a certain expectation of dark-grey morality then you can accept bad people make great characters#the doublethink essays of trying to Justify astarion's flaws#i dont wanna make him worse or better#i just wanna be along for the ride#let him murder and torture and be genuinely mean as a sexy lil treat#bg3 spoilers? kinda this is pretty vague

(sending again in case tumblr ate the ask)
same anon again, i have even more thoughts on the yandere ghiaccio fic
i think its really interesting how ghia is written like a dog instead of the usual cat, don't know if there is any reason for that but i think it's very cool
also he's very vtm gangrel coded
OH YEAH! Gangrel Ghia is canon now!❄️🧛
Anywaaaayyyy...I choose to write him "like" a dog because they're much more aggressive and dangerous than cats as predators.
Thanks to White Album the fandom associates his skittish behavior to an agry feline.
Cats are very clever and skillful animals, just like Ghiaccio they accurately study their environment and targets!
So the association is on point!
However when a cat gets angry, humans usually find it funny or somehow entertaining (at least in the videos).
For the purpose of this fic, I wrote Ghiaccio far more hostile and violent than the canon.
Soooooo...that's it!
This is just my opinion but the og VA literally BARKS when voicing him
Also, I'm cynophobic

Playing VTM
TLDR at the top cause I'm not an asshole:
Our party ruined the 15 YEAR campaign the storyteller was running in four sessions.
(Idk why the Sabbat brought a nuke into the city.
But tempress was used and now it's dark ages.)
Apologies for any misspellings of clan or WoD specific words, I'm a new player
So I'm playing a Giovanni exile, basically my character got embraced for running the books of Venice ports really well, and they realized I talk way too much like a general annoyance, accidentally insulting my elders and whatnot, they wanna get rid of me, but I'm family.
They gave me the bullshit title of, "Ambassador of New Orleans" and sent me on my way, I now run the Giovanni controlled ports in the city and am given the task of appearing in one of the Camarilla courts, basically as an act of courtesy, a Giovanni just appearing in the city without announcing himself might lead to unexpected trouble.
So I enter and find a table with my name on it in the corner and sit. At the same time The rest of the party (for now) enters:
1) A Small likeable Malkavian named John Smith, with fanatic tendencies toward ancient knowledge and occult lore
2) A hardened Russian Brujah with a code of honor called Mikael
Once our characters settle in our seats, the Prince who the Malkavian instantly recognizes as King Richard III walks in, described as a ventrue with a big, fancy medallion. and He gets to stating the situation of New Orleans.
Setites are causing trouble on the other side of Lake Pontchartrain,
there seems to be a drug problem turning mortals into caitiff,
The Sabbat in the city seem to be behaving strangely, probably about to make a move,
Marie Laveau has been resurrected and has risen a bunch of zombies in the city,
And Catherine the great has made an appearance.
Part 2 soon
I'll keep going if I get a note™️

Incoherent ramble incoming
I don't know if this might be some kind of influence from the larp community (larp simply hasnt been something i had the chance to have contact with) but been getting back into vtm lately, for some inspiration i decided to play Swansong (i like the game but very damn its crash prone 7.5/10 or something) and im getting a vibe from both it and the V5 that im calling Runway: the Masquerade.
What i mean by this is not just that everyone is dressed in the highest of fashion but the environments feel very much like high fashion, everything feels very new and ever so slightly removed from reality, very few characters feel their age and, most importantly i think, vampire existence seems a bit too comfortable.
i dont wanna be "back in my day" about it especially because i know vampire media that dirty and messy is still being made but vtm seems to have put aside inspirations like near dark, the night flyer or salems lot in favor of ironically enough Underworld.
Its funny that everyone got very concerned about the masquerade and the Second Inquisition (am i the only one that finds the name silly?) but also theyre nor concerned enough to not have tons of non ghoul mortals servants aware of vampires, archive rooms detailing vampire activities in plain english and just a lot other possible security points of failure?
im being nitpicky i know, and it ultimately comes down to personal taste but my boyfriend put it very well i think by drawing a comparison to that thing in JJBA where they go "anyone here could be a stand user" and then they look over a crows and dont notice the 7 feet tall guy in fetish gear.
To compare to bloodlines, a lot of the vampires are dressed very plainly a lot of the places they inhabit are very normal looking and they have somewhat minimalist staffs, this things still exists in runway the masquerade but it seems (to me) like the balance between the Maximilian Strauss of the world of darkness (guy who gets a tailor to make him the most vampire coded outfit ever) and the Isaac Abrams (guy who looks like he has money but normal otherwise) shifted in favor of the former as the paranoia over maintaining the masquerade rose (at least in the text) and that is giving me a bit of cognitive dissonance or whatever

thinking about the poll/post (omg i found it!!) asking about if strahd would be a vampire ascendant and i decided to ramble about it along with other random things because dont mind if i do indulge!! hehe
shoutout to @/thecatslug for inspiring me to colorcode my rambles because oh my god i love colors. also sorry the color code might not make sense its just syrips color coded my brain likes it gfdgdfg
ravenloft / bg3 spoilers below:
so, im not sure if the question meant 'would strahd be considered a vampire ascendant' or if it meant 'could strahd become a vampire ascendant', so i decided ill try to answer this: would strahd be considered a vampire ascendant? sorry if this wasnt the original question i just wanted to ramble honestly
before we get into the fancy nitty gritty stuff, let's take a look at the details of four main things apparently i cant count heh, get it, count? anyways im not fixing that four sorry numbers are hard
Vellioth the Martinet
Baldur's Gate's Master Vampire List
The Black Mass Scroll As A Whole
Cazador and Jander (what?)
Strahd
-----
Vellioth the Martinet
so, random fun theory that no one asked but i just wanna ramble it. did you know that 'vellus' means fleece or wool?
just gonna leave this here. unrelated to anything else btw i just wanna ramble it.
random wiki stuff:
"vellus / villus / veillier = fleece, shaggy tuft hair, wool villi = in france, to watch over martinet = wikipedia: 'in English, the term martinet usually refers not to the whip but to those who might use it: those who demand strict adherence to set rules and mete out punishment for failing to follow them.' vellus hair = 'peach fuzz'"
🩸✨💛 random theory no one asked for 💛✨🩸
vellioth has hair with:
color range: peach (fuzz) to wheat blonde
length: medium to long
type/shape/texture: curly to kinky; 'shaggy/woolly sheep' texture
anyways back to the actual stuff.
... hi.
so! the narrator/cazador describe Vellioth as 'ancient', or at least they call his skull ancient? which is very strange to me for two main reasons. Vellioth isn't old. and i know, 'but syrips, you say everyone isn't old because strahd's a big old dusty super elder!.' and yea. hehe youre right. but for now, just remember this - Vellioth was Baldur Gate's Master Vampire from 1204 DR to 1276 DR. this will be important in a moment, not even because of the age, but because what ill describe below.
-----
Baldur's Gate's Master Vampire List
so. one thing that i see thrown around a bit, is that people may assume that the vampire list left by Lady Incognita is based on birth and death or other stuff, but! i will clarify it a bit:
the title of Master Vampire does not mean the previous one's destruction or death. it only means their defeat upon someone else taking the throne. sure, they may occur at the same time, but one can take over without killing the former.
the master vampire list is a self-proclaiming title, and one that others can attempt to contest
each city/point of interest has their own master vampires fighting in their own little territories. we only see those of baldur's gate. not of waterdeep. not of other towns or cities or locations. if you're feeling the vtm clan vibes/drama, then youre absolutely right! cazador penpalling another master vampire to brag about his master vampire status in baldur's gate is both him bragging and him potentially preparing to claim other places once he ascends
the master vampire title gives no actual vampiric, magical, or physical power. it's an entirely a social construct, in the most literal way possible. it provides social influence, social intimidation, etc. but, it's just like putting on a mundane tiara. grats, i guess.. its shiny at least-
anyways, this stuff is mostly put down just to say - nothing about this "Master Vampire" status is about ascension, power, and/or 'special abilities'. it's a moot point/status. which leads to why the master vampires need other ways to gain power.. which is why.. woah! cool transition to-
-----
The Black Mass Scroll As A Whole
if you got this far then thanks for reading. sit up and hydrate because it's time to talk about the black mass and why you need to be in tip top shape for reading this part. ahem:
the black mass scroll is not just one ritual, it is a collection of Vellioth's schooling, a list of rites/rituals, details of soul, divine (good, neutral, and evil) magic, and the methods of manipulation of the soul, divinity, and magic.
tl;dr - the black mass scroll is a list of lists. a collection of collections. the black mass scroll is.. an archive!
one could say it is massive. heh. anyways yea, the mass is a double meaning - a mass in the ritual sense, but also the meaning of 'a bunch of somethings.'
why is this important though? well. because this black mass has 'all the ways death can be turned to one's advantage or made more interesting', such as 'The Rite of Perfect Slaughter' and the 'Rite of Profane Ascension.'
so, let's talk about the Rite of Perfect Slaughter, which is actually fairly easy - Cazador killed Vellioth in the Rite of Perfect Slaughter. yet, Vellioth, who should be 'dead,' is recalling this. we should note, both of these people are undead. and undead death doesnt always work in the same way as complete removal/destruction. literally look at the other undead/'dead' in bg3 itself. look at those who 'died' in ravenloft. yet, some return, despite being 'killed' in the human perceived way.
either way, all we can confirm, based on this Rite of Perfect Slaughter, is that it removed Vellioth's authority/status as a Master Vampire. that is literally all the information we have right now. anything else is speculation, theory, or even deception by an undead or someone affiliated. which makes me wonder, who came up and formed that name, the "Rite of Perfect Slaughter"? cazador and vellioth both have a distorted view of what 'perfection' means, and we've seen cazador lie/hide information that will work against him. and also, Vellioth was laughing as cazador did the Rite on Vellioth. why didnt cazador and astarion laugh together when astarion performed the Rite of Ascension? because cazador didnt want the rite used on him. i guess the point of all of this is, who originally discovered or created the Rite of Perfect Slaughter? because, we dont know! for all we know, Vellioth couldve wanted to be 'killed' to give his soul to someone else, to preserve his vampirism/unlife or something. afterall, the black mass has 'all the ways death can be turned to one's advantage.' it doesnt say by who benefits from it. but anyways. the origin isnt really relevant for this, i just wanted to point out that these Rites are all a various and mixed collection of times, rituals, affiliations, and intentions - most that we dont even know fully, if at all of who benefits from it. and, considering we dont even know what some mean, or who made them, the original people who discovered them may not even be Cazador or Vellioth.
why? or how?
because, the line Astarion says when he picks up the Black Mass Scroll: "[Cazador] stole everything, even [Vellioth's] precious rules."
it doesnt matter who made the rites, rituals, weird strange description/stuff. all that matters is that Cazador has the entire bundle of stuff that is from previous vampires and creatures. and, the symbolism that Astarion picks it up and takes it, means the collection of potential power - of The Black Mass Scroll - Astarion is the current inheritor of potential power.
-----
Cazador and Jander (what?)
now, reader. you might be like. 'syrips, what does this have to do with if Strahd is considered a vampire ascendant? why is jander being brought in here?? im so confused, just answer the question about strahd!' well, too bad! you gotta wait! into the sealed tomb with leo dilisnya you go!
anyways! what we learned so far (as well as random rambling cuz why not):
cazador literally takes things that aren't his
cazador learned this from 'ancient' vellioth
Vellioth become a master vampire at 1204 DR of baldur's gate
Cazador became one at 1276 DR of baldur's gate
but! let's take a quick look and compare this to our beloved Jander Sunstar's lore:
they are incredibly weak when compared to an already existing Jander and strahd, as Anna has existed on the sword coast beginning around 970 DR
not only does time work differently in barovia, but in Toril / DR time, strahd already exists at this point as The Vampire. he is already the ruler of barovia, as well as the center of attention in the domains of dread
time isnt really important here, but its worth noting this because of Jander. not only did he kill his vampire master (which can be considered a 'vampiric ascension,' as you break the chains and limits of your master and are now free to grow in vampiric abilities), but he literally wielded an ancient and holy relic that vellioth and cazador could not even imagine to do.
and, not only did Jander do that, but he challenged the cause of vampirism and was brought by the mists into barovia. he was a candidate to challenge the master, founder, and origin of vampirism - strahd. Jander had the potential to ascend. to break free from the true master and curse, of The Vampire.
anyways, jander (and astarion) is a great reference character for vampire ability when comparing vellioth and cazador to jander/strahd.
but yea. tl;dr - jander makes vellioth and cazador look really pathetic. like baby levels pathetic. vampire ascension is about going 'backwards/upwards' on the vampiric bloodline tree, gaining your agency back so that you can climb up the ranks to more 'potent/ancient' generations. basically, it's about being free to go as far/deep as you can attempt. ascension is not about 'the removal of weaknesses', it's about 'the reduction of vampiric inferiority'. and, being unable to be in the sun is not of inferiority. they can go in the sun, but it will hurt. what one cannot do without suffering, teamwork, pacts, and/or luck, however, is breaking their seal on the master they're forced to be inferior to. even in the cazador fight, the only thing that saved astarion was literally the tadpole helping to reduce his inferiority with cazador. on a side note, vellioth laughing at cazador during the rite of perfect slaughter makes me believe that vellioth benefitted and only caused cazador to descend deeper, instead of ascend.
anyways. back to cazador. the only way that he can reduce the vampiric inferiority (as well as ascend himself) is for him to confront more and more ancient vampires, you know. like what jander attempted. but, cazador doesnt want to do that. instead, he works with an archdevil to attempt a cheap temporary bandaid/loophole around the wrong problem. instead of focusing on his own inferiority complex heh pun intended, he focuses on how to get a tan and how to be less thirsty..? like. what? either he has no idea what hes doing, or he believes removing all weaknesses and flaws will make him a more perfect vampire. what a silly head.
anyways. the rite of 'ascension.'
yea, let's go into that!
what is the Rite of Ascension??
here you go, reader!
---

Strahd
wooo hooo! we made it back to the original question!! we did it!!
now, lettuce answer this question that we we've been waiting on for so long. i dont want to leaf you hanging.
would strahd be considered a vampire ascendant?
big drum roll! bhrrrbhrbrhbhrr!!
-cough-
..
no.
...
-leaves-
-returns-
okay so. why isnt strahd considered a vampy ascendant?
well, before we talk about that. let's consider what a 'vampire ascendant' is considered, by Vellioth, Cazador, and the Rite of Profane Ascension's terms:
an 'ascended vampire' is just one who has the ailments of sunlight and hunger removed by the process of this specific ritual. remember that line i said of a Master Vampire being a moot point? well.. to burst the blood bubble, the "Ascended Vampire" line isnt a literal 'vampire ascension'. it's also a moot point, in its own way. but not as mooty, it's more of like a half-truth. like something an archdevil would do to tempt someone into doing something for a small dose of infernal - not raw vampiric - power in return. take note that nowhere in the actual ritual lines does it talk about ascension, let alone vampiric ascension. all it talks about is to say the words 'you made a promise.. i hope you keep it..pls gimmy Infernal powers..'
you know how raphael is making a deal with you and how off it feels? that's because youre not ascending when he mutes your tadpole. he's just using his abilities to manipulate/mold something in you with his powers. that's how this ritual also is. it's just a half-truth, unempathetic advertisement, masked as a pact so that the one who does it feels satisfied, despite the archdevil just receiving much more power than the one who sacrificed all the souls.
but, let's say this ritual is legitimate, and one does 'ascend' by the archdevil's abilities to remove the ailments. so, they are technically 'rising,' in a way. they are becoming a 'stronger infernal-gifted vampire' because of less weaknesses. but, what are they trying to ascend to? what is the purpose of removing all of these weaknesses? why go through all of this?
because. they hunger. they want power. they want true immortality. they want to remove all weaknesses in mortal life and immortal unlife to have free agency, without inferiority to anything. they want to be able to transcend time, space, and death, to be on a level of the highest peak of vampirism.
and, of course. who would that be? who would be the most ancient, powerful vampire, cursed and imprisoned by their own success in achieving what other vampires can only dream of?
who was imprisoned not from failure, but from succeeding too well that something else had to intervene?
anyways, as much as i love stroking strahd's ego LOl i keep going tho, his novel-canon potential is severely higher than the CoS potential. but, through all the modules, novels, and other media, it's still heavily implied that strahd's major weakness is tatyana. if he had tatyana, or felt he was losing the chance to pursue her, if he lost this weakness, he would unironically be scarily unstoppable. the only thing stopping strahd from being a huge dictator or even more power-hungry tyrant is literally because of his obsession/'curse' with wanting to have a bae. which i find very hilarious but focus syrips that part isnt the point-
anyways. tl;dr - strahd has nothing to ascend to. he has no vampire that he's inferior to. if anything, he wants to descend. he wants to be 'less' of what he is now, to be with tatyana. or, to ascend tatyana to his vampiric level. it's his entire curse. and, because of this, he also cannot descend. if he does, he will either lose himself, or he will lose tatyana. and he will not dare to risk that.
he also has nothing that he has or can ascend from. he is the 'original'. at most, he just ascended from 'himself.' but, that's not really an ascension more than just a transition. (and, moving from the material plane to the domains of dread kind of shows that he's not really ascending/rising, more than he's just moving into a warped/slanted plane that operates differently in time and space.) and, unlike in the Rite of Profane Ascension, strahd used himself (and everything affiliated to him) as both the component and result, because no other method existed. he is the origin and reason that rites/methods to 'becoming a more powerful vampire' even exist. he's the reason that vampires exist. when strahd says he's the ancient and land, he's not just saying it for the cool monologue phrase even though we all know he totally enjoys saying it everytime. he's also bluntly saying, 'i am the ancient because i, with barovia, transcend time. i am the land because i, with barovia, connect with the domains of dread. and, the domains of dread, connects with all planes. i am beyond 'a vampire.' i, strahd, am the concept and definition of the vampire.'
everything that all vampires do, by definition, are mock versions, mock attempts, and mock methods that strahd has already mastered, influenced others to do, or that he has knowledge/creation of. everything all vampires do, is attempting to do what their masters had done. with every new spawn, they start at the bottom, trying to climb to their master's level. and even more rarely, attempting to climb to their master's master's level. but strahd is at the top of the MLM vampire pyramid. he has no master to climb up the ranks to. he's already the CEO, founder, etc. (idk how business works), he can't out-climb himself. -strahd pompous voice- 'ouhhh.. it's so lonely being at the top, ouhhh..' but anyways, he can ascend or assist others, since he's a patron. but most power-hungry vampires wouldnt want to do that, especially because they're probably trying to climb up just to compete or be on strahd's vampiric level. and yet, asking strahd for ascension is incredibly easy - all it would mean is making an eternal pact to always be subservient and inferior to strahd.. he'd gladly ascend you, you'd have the potential to be superior to all other vampires.. the only one above you would be personally him. and.. suddenly, a deal with an archdevil who doesnt care about the pettiness of vampire superiority, kind of sounds safer in comparison now..-
or idk. i could be wrong. just a ramble i had fun doing. hehe ty for reading

VTM OC Story: Rook- The Night After
REBLOGS ALLOWED BUT DO NOT REPOST AS YOUR OWN!
Warnings for blood, violence and mild bad language
Overview: A rather confused at first member of Gangrel, got himself embraced by being in the wrong place at the wrong time and basically selected against his will to attempt to fight off some off his would be sires hunters, ended up passing out instead! Is looking for his sire to no avail so far, was a decent but recluse man in his normal life, the beast however is eating away at his unlife slowly... Does he have the willpower to fight it off?
story under the Divider, credit to: Anitalenia (again)
I awoke one night, it was a night almost exactly like any other, my name was still Rook, I still had two silly tooth gaps where my canines were taken out as a child and I still lived in a small shack just far enough away from the busy city, but apparently not far enough...
Tonight I have an odd sensation... Like something in the back of my mind I couldn't quite place. And it confuses me, it's almost like a voice that never speaks up and yet somehow, I know what it wants. I've no clue how long it's been there but it feels new and yet familiar at the same time, a part of me and yet not...
I grab the messy, scuffy written note in my pocket, I still cant understand it, it's like it's written in some form of code I dont understand, all I understand is FIND ME followed by what I'm assuming is an address. I sigh and attempt to get some sleep, hoping this sensation of mine doesn't get any worse.
One night it did get worse. I thought it odd it wanted me to consume what I assumed was animals from the forest, whole and raw. But animals weren't enough... Eventually it couldn't stomach them, or any food for that matter. Tonight it wanted something more...And it got it, I wasn't happy but it damn well got it.
It wouldn't stop, this voice wanted me to eat but no matter what I tried the odd feelings wouldn't go, it just got worse, almost like a "no, not that try again."
Until it picked up a scent. Everything almost happened in a blur, If it wasn't for the recurring nightmares for a week afterwards I probably wouldn't even have known what It did... What I did...
Finally the voice picks up, It speaks in a hungered hiss "that scent... Follow it!"
Who even knew I could run like that? and are those claws? Where my nails where? No surely not? Right?
"It's close... And it smells... Perfect."
"I don't like the sound of this..." Is what I would have liked to say back to myself... Well this beastly version anyway but right now it's kinda hard to considering... well...
The smell gets stronger as I run and my head begins to almost burn between the eyebrows... And my throat almost feels like I could breathe fire right now it burns so much...
"Oh... It smells human... Heh heh..." The voice pipes up, Almost through me But somehow not.
Suddenly my body stops and I sense something moving closer to me via vibrations on the soil below. Is it an animal?
An unknown voice echoes through the air. And by the feels of it... Is getting closer... Not now!
My new found uhh... Beastly side is getting worse the closer it gets... I'm almost sure I'm drooling right now... What is this?
"Uh hello? Anyone or anything there? I'm kinda lost... And alone..." The unknown pipes up again.
"Oh I dig this!" The beast hisses inside me,
The bushes before me rustle to show a girl Roughly in her early twenties by the looks of it. She attempts conversation as if blissfully unaware of the current situation and the hungry aura I'm possibly emmiting.
"Oh hello I didn't notice you there who a-" "LEAVE!" I manage to snarl. My beastly side wasn't the best at physical conversation it seemed,
"But I don't know how I'm lost and I thought you cou-"
"DONT CARE!" Seriously why aren't you running from the thing in front of you, More Creature than man at this point, are you oblivious?
"Wow okay your kind of an asshole you know that you could at least-"
"NOW!" She steps closer... Bad mistake "Alright mister I don't know what your problem is but-"
I Grip onto her almost instinctively and yank her closer... Those claws from earlier accidentally scratching her sides... And that really sets it off.
"Yes! Yes! Blood! Eat, Destroy, Consume!" I could really do with not making this worse right now but it's damn hard,
The voice hisses again "yes, Go on"
"I'm... Sorry..." I Pull her hair aside, Feel what are sharp canines protrude from where there was only gum before, Wait as in fangs? "For This!" And go straight for the throat...
Without even thinking I impulsively lap up the sweet red blood inside, okay not like sweet in taste, the taste was kind of like if you mixed pennies with raspberry sorbet, metallic yet addicting and sharp and without a care, I take the lot. The hunger subsides, my head feels better and most of all my mouth is fine!
I feel the body flump to the floor and suddenly snap to my more normal senses. I scratch the nearest tree in anger and I growl but at least it was like an angered human this time, or at least the best I can now I'm whatever this thing is...

12, 19, and 17 for Noa and Xandy if not already answered?
*Gasp!* Thank you for asking ahhH! 12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
17. Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?
19. What is your favorite fact about your OC?
Noa: 12. I would say the most difficult part about creating art for Noa is having to really restrain myself! Noa is incredibly repressed and has SUPER staunch beliefs and a code she really sticks to, so I feel weird if I just do certain things with her with wild abandon even if I really really want to. Like if I want to fun crack!ship her with anyone, then I overthink like "well she wouldn't do that," or etc... making her probably the most socially "inept" out of all of my OCs! Like, Nono is not a meme'r. 17. I'm usually very flexible with character stuff, I don't keep things I feel are actively detrimental to the stories I want to tell with them! If they have something going on with them, I put it there purposefully and with good reason. I will say I regretted certain things at her initial conception when I was playing her on a live VTM server. I had made her a Instagram starlet with a cute big butt. I had just added the butt thing as a dumb little "hee hee I got a bubble butt" but a LOT of people really ran with it? It made me actively uncomfortable how people took the "has a big butt" thing and made her to be a very very sexual character. It was this attitude towards Noa that actually had me hard reverse her into being sexually repulsed and also being small and flat as a board. Of course... people still sexualized her even with these traits as well in our next server we played her on. It could just be the way I type making people feel nice, but it's still very annoying to try and play a serious game or write out a serious conversation and people just won't stop writing about how their drooling over her body. So I regret making Noa curvaceous in the beginning of her play, but I'm VERY happy with Noa as she is now. I use the sexualization from these people to fuel a very important part of her motivations! 19. I love lots of stuff about Nono, but I think I love her having a good father despite being a Giovanni? Now her father wasn't good to her brother of course, but so many people go nuts with the more unsavory parts of the Giovanni lore in VTM, so I just feel satisfied with Noa having a good relationship with her Dad while he's alive.
Xandy: 12. Xandy is a bit difficult to write for because I have very specific situations in mind that involve her that are hard to make interesting in a written format? If that makes sense. She's very action oriented, swift, silent. If I could animate I think she'd be a blast to draw - I imagine her operating like Faith from Mirror's Edge - lots of parkour and smooth disarming motions. However writing action isn't my biggest strong suit. One of her coping mechanisms is to try and see herself as a tool for her Master to use, and while writing her breakdowns is very thrilling, I also can't have her upset ALL the time. She fills a great role in the canon but otherwise a little difficult to make the main character. ALSO - a lot of her stuff is history based, and that's a TON of research to fall down the rabbit hole for! 17. Xandy was one of my first REAL OCs... I had a few before her but she's probably the one I've had and kept the longest. [I had a ATLA one for a little bit and a Naruto OC that lasted a while but none stuck like Xandy!] I have changed her a lot over the fifteen years I've had her! There's not much I regret really, she was my Call of Duty Modern Warfare OC, so she was a military woman - which COULD be regretful but nah. It suited what I liked at the time and she's changed for the better I think! I suppose one regret is that she's silent and distant, which makes writing fun interactions hard, but it's still an important part of her character! 19. My favorite fact about her is.... commitment issues? I think I love it because I'm such a hardcore Ride or Die, and so are practically all of my characters. So it's kind of fun to have someone who is like "BAIL" the second someone really shows genuine adoration and interest in her beyond a one night stand or a passing curiosity! She's not against-against commitment... she just knows the life she lives and how "it just can't work."
THANK YOU GORGEOUS FOR ASKING!!!!!

VTM Character Concepts
Just a pair of Vampire: The Masquerade character concepts. I think these are both mostly classic VTM, because I haven’t really kept up with developments in the lore, but I was rewatching and rereading some things recently and figured it’d do no harm to doodle some VTM characters along with all the D&D and PF and Starfinder ones. Heh.
No Nosferatu this time. They are still my first and true clan, but I wanted to expand outwards a little bit, experiment with a couple of others.
Ventrue:
Deanna Fontaine, Ventrue PI. Deanna had the misfortune in her mortal days of getting in the way of a large criminal enterprise, and stubbornly refused to politely get back out of the way. To no one’s surprise, least of all her own, this refusal promptly resulted in her death. Rather more to her surprise, however, the head of the criminal organisation she had refused to bow to was a Kindred, a Ventrue, and he was deeply impressed by her integrity, even in the face of death. She woke in her shallow grave, and there was a very well-appointed car waiting for her outside the lot. Deanna promptly ignored it and made her own way into the night, ravenous and furious and not a little terrified. It took four months of near misses and near starvation in her attempts to survive on her own and understand her new condition on her own terms before her sire, who felt he had had been extremely patient, finally ran out of said patience and kidnapped her for a ‘discussion’.
The results were … mixed. The grudge for her mortal death runs deep, and her hatred for her sire’s criminal enterprises is still equally strong. Deanna died once for her convictions, and she will do so again, without a qualm. On a personal level, she despises the vampire who made her. However. As she got more of an introduction to the broader Kindred society, and the rules of her new world, while very aware of who was showing her that world and those rules, nonetheless some of her sire’s points did land with her. The Camarilla is a sect she broadly believes in, keeping the blood and the chaos away from the wider, more innocent world. And dignitas, while a part of her despises it for a mockery, the ‘appearance’ of virtue overriding all fact, another part of her does understand reputation, and the need to maintain it, and the need to repay your debts, and stick to your word, and to not damage someone without proof and cause. She’s not going to risk mortal lives to deal with him on a criminal level, and she’s not going to sow chaos among the monstrous to try and unseat him on a vampiric level, not until she knows full well what the consequences will be. She is not, and never was, a tabloid gumshoe. Do things the right way from the start, and don’t play petty games when there’s lives (or unlives, as the case may be) on the line. Die with your head high, and leave the cheap shots to the muckrakes. All things considered, while she does everything in her power to have as little to do with him as possible these days, her sire is still very pleased.
(Note: I do enjoy the Ventrue obsession with dignitas, and there’s a lot of room to play around with it in the contexts of mortal vs vampire morality, codes of honour, criminal codes of honour, and just general themes of what do you consider a compromise to your reputation, and what do you consider a compromise to your integrity, and do those two considerations match up. So. A criminal sire, and an upright childe, and he chose her because of that, and now she has to navigate personal questions of morals and honour and integrity and reputation in a much different and more monstrous milieu).
Gangrel:
Addie Thompson, ex-dockworker Gangrel autarkis. Addie’s had a hard life. Born to blue-collar parents, while Addie was decently intelligent and decently pretty, she was also always on the burly side. She did a lot of dead-end jobs as a teenager and young woman, but in the 1980s, when dock work was opened up to women in LA, the lure of better money enticed her to try her hand down at the port. Lots of her friends used to joke that if she’d been born forty years earlier, she could have been a model for Rosie the Riveter, so why not? The port wasn’t all that welcoming, though. To the point that when she was attacked one night while working out on her own, she was not remotely surprised. Of course, this wasn’t some disgruntled fellow docker. This was a monster, and it fully killed her. But no docker, male, female or otherwise, is going down without a fight, and Addie fought. Tooth, claw and whatever else she could fucking reach, all the way down. She didn’t win, obviously, or even survive, but her ferociousness did win her another sort of reward: the unlife of a Gangrel. A fairly typical embrace, as these things go. And a fairly typical aftermath: abandonment. It was up to Addie to prove she was worth the effort of instruction. She could have gone back to the city, made her way among easier hiding spots and easier prey, but Addie’d fought for her place down the docks. She’d fought for her place by the sea, so by the sea she stayed. A longshorewoman, not a sailor, but fuck it anyway. The coast was her territory. She stayed, and she survived. And maybe the next few women to try their hands down the docks had a slightly easier time of it, when the worst of their opponents tended to have accidents, and wind up vanishing, or floating in the water. But there’s only so long you can sustain that, and soon she had to move on, or risk being found and killed. And here’s maybe where her story wasn’t so typical. It wasn’t another Gangrel who found her and showed her a little bit more of this strange, fearsome new midnight world world she found herself part of. It was a Lasombra. A gun-runner with a private boat, who stumbled across Addie’s activities when the bodies in the water started to draw attention to her own doings. A beautiful demon of the deep, who found and became enchanted by this stocky, ferocious creature on the shore. And the feeling was, eventually, entirely mutual.
Addie Thompson is a wandering coastal Gangrel, a regular haunter of waterfronts up and down the coastline. She’s a rough, self-sufficient, no-nonsense survivor who has no patience for politics or any of the games of vampires. She goes where she wants when she wants, and kills anyone who’d try to hold her. She doesn’t generally kill willy-nilly, however, and often tries to choose certain targets, echoes of her first. There may or may not be rumours of a coastal serial killer who tends to target particular longshoremen and other port workers that may or may not be related to her. But Addie herself is a relatively personable monster. And she has one deep and true connection in this midnight world. A beautiful sea-demon, a gun-runner with a private boat. A Lasombra corsair that she truly and deeply believes loves her, and who she genuinely loves in return.
(Note: So. I love Mariner Gangrel, and I love Corsair Lasombra, and I ravenously adore nautical horror. And you would wonder if ever the twain should meet. And there’s those sort of fairytale elements, mist and shadows, seabirds and mermaids, the nightmare-life-in-death, the rime of the ancient mariner. Does this Lasombra corsair actually love this burly, rough-and-tumble docker woman? Maybe. But Addie wants a dream to hold close to her heart, a little bit of something romantic in a rough life, and, for at least a little while, some nights, I say she gets to have it).

7, 10 and 11 for grace
grace my beloveddddd!! out of all my vtm characters she is the one i bled into the most. she has a very special place in my heart
7: finding grace in a crowd is easy. you just yell "I SAW NATHAN HERE" and she will immediately materialise in the vicinity. finding her sire is her ultimate goal, after all. although she will be very upset if it turns out that was just a lie to get her attention.
10: "MY NAME IS GRACE ANDERSON, AN ELEVENTH-GENERATION BANU HAQIM, CHILDE OF NATHAN MOORE-" not really, but close. even though she is rather secretive about her clan, she would be delighted to tell people all about her sire and how she's looking for him. she is a proud nebraska resident, so there is that, and she likes talking about hunting and her beloved gun serena or her dog solid snake. or her touchstone isaac and how he believes that she is a government agent mutant. but her favourite fact? bigfoot is real and he is caine. and you can find him.
11: the amount of batshit insane and plain dumb shit grace believes makes it very easy to distinguish her from a look-alike. an average shapeshifter, to a question of who the president is, answers correctly, because everyone knows that. grace would completely sincerely answer that it is george bush. and would be very surprised to find out there was two of those. the more deranged she sounds, the more it's clear it's the real grace. like. she thinks mothman is her sire. she hates all sexualities equally, straight people most of all. she has an emotional support gun. she has a moral code so strict it's like a legal document. at some point you can't make this shit up.

*kicks down your door* Hey Kay on the vtm questionaire for number 14 for death How do they feel about diablerie? for any of yours lol
heres the original reblog so anyone that wants can find the questions:
Wow so you come in, break my door and now you wont fix it? ok fine.
Since you wanted 14 and Diablerie(11) , ill do both for the vampires that more or less graced my blog and ill be doing these two as myself instead of characters since some of them wouldnt give you an actual answer and it was better formatted this way lol.
really long post ahead so read at your discretion
Bhima
III. DEATH
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Its...something hed love to not encounter on either side. The act feels very harsh and..very wrong. Not something hed do ever.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
Bhima has frenzied once in the beginning of his vampire life when he was still getting used to everything and to his jumbled thinking. It did not turn out well. In the process he ended up killing his daughter because of how stressed he was for her in general and he simply blacked out when he saw her again. He sired her upon panicking about what hes done and its a whole mess he is trying to fix considering the siring was also not legalized.
Nazaire
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
He gets why someone would do it but they dont like the idea of stealing someones "life" for power and then also having part of their soul. Sounds like a cool concept at first but he wouldnt like it to happen to him so why do it to someone else?
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
Yeah. A lot of clutch moments before they escaped the city he inhabited after their sires death and during the times he was hunted. It manifested in many ways. Some lunging at the vampires hunting them resulting in harm, sometimes results in self harm as well. He fed of a human once and they had to pretend they didnt. Never did it again.
Iulian
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Act of power with dubious ties to it. Nothing he hasnt seen or that would be uncommon for vampires to do. He thinks getting power like that is a cheat code and a beneficial one if you get to it but not something hell risk his skin for.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
Thankfully for him, it has never happened.
Devon
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Doesnt care. He wont do it but he doesnt care if someone does. No strong opinion towards it.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
He has never frenzied even if he was close to multiple times before. He was able to get himself as fast as he could out of high stress situations or neutralize the problem before the beast could come out.
Ankur
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Fun! Just dont get caught and its a plan. He hasnt done it but perhaps one day if he has the means for it, he might.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
Yeah, a bunch of times. He is a fun of the "riding it out" or "going with the flow" so he frenzied willingly before and it proved as a very beneficial thing though risky and very very messy. Covered in blood from head to toe and surrounded by bodies but satisfied and safe. Plus, if youre quick about it, no one will ever know about your messier tendencies :)
Cecilia
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
No. Below her. More honorable ways to get power.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
She tried her hardest everytime to get the beast at bay since she holds a reputation so, no. She did not and is not planning to.
Nadia
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Tempting. Havent did it but she isnt opposed to it.
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
Nothing out of the ordinary, just very enraptured by one of her...meals that got way too messy. Only happened once tho.
Sunya
11. How do they feel about Diablerie?
Kindred do that to strengthen themselves and cover more ground by having more power, as always. Nothing shocking. They dont care about it though. They think its kind of like cheating and if you want to get big, why not set an example yourself instead of being a power sucking leech?
14. Have they ever Frenzied? What happened?
No...they....made sure not to. Theres no way that his sire would in any shape or form take that and they wouldnt be a fan of finding out what happens if the beast gets their way and their sire finds out.

So, the VtM × TWC thing… It's been almost a year since I've got the idea and I am not sure if I am going to finish it, unfortunately. Just gonna post all the most important info here without much details because I don't want to keep it just for myself lol
Unit Bravo is a coterie organized by Adam, who in this universe is a very old and powerful Ventrue vampire. Him, Nate and Felix are part of the Camarilla (the Agency is very Camarilla coded for me) and Mason is independent. Mason is Gangrel, Felix is Toreador, Nate is Brujah (had a wild thought of making him a Lasombra just to continue the "can't use technology" gag but it didn't fit with everything else whatsoever).
I've reworked the book one into VtM setting, and, honestly, it doesn't differ from the original too much. Weird murders happen, bodies are completely emptied of blood and if there is any, it comes back weird on all the tests. A local detective is put on the case, at the same time the Prince is getting very interested in this: they understand that one of the Kindred is involved in this and they want this situation to be dealt with quickly and quietly, without getting humans involved. Adam is put on the task. He makes the police to drop the case, but one local detective is veryyy stubborn and is ready to delve deeper into this bloody mystery even without the approval from their superiors. At first Adam and others don't really care, but then as they get deeper involved with the case too (they still need to find a vampire that is breaking the masquerade), they figure out that the detective would be the next target. The coterie keeps an eye on the detective and kind of wants to use them as a bait at first but then they genuinely get attached lol A weird but sweet friendship blooms between the vampires and the detective. The rest is history.
I haven't decided on how exactly this version of the book will end. I have two endings to choose from and in both of them the detective ends up becoming a vampire, so it doesn't really matter I guess.
Murphy is a Tzimisce, Sabbat aligned vampire btw. Also have these 2 pictures! Mason has a Caucasian Shepherd dog. I haven't decided if this dog would be a ghoul or not, but if not, then here's a funny little detail - Mason gives out all the commands for it in Greek, so no one else would be able to use basic commands on his dog lol
#the wayhaven chronicles#agent m#a du mortain#i am not tagging v/t/m because i don't want to clutter the tag BUT#if any people knowledgeable in the topic want to give me critique or anything - u are welcome to do so!!#shut up april#open the read more if u want to see mason with a dog :3

From Razeen's playlist because I'm obsessed with vtm babes right now 😎

Just realized I forgot an explanation oops!
Its pretty basic but I put it on his list because it's very ventrue coded to me. Even though he's technically an El Hijazi and they are like barely different from standard Ventrue (and he also defected to the Sabbat so he's even further removed from Sabbat Ventrue) it just still felt appropriate. He's a guy who can get things, he's a guy who thinks most things have a price, it's kind of surface level but it fits.
