Where Evil Grew - Nick has to tell you the bad news about your sister.

The night Nick tells you they’ve found your sister’s body is the night you completely fall apart. You’d always had this hope, this stupid hope that Katy was alive somewhere, that she’d gone AWOL, taken off to Nashville. Nick are shatters that when he informs you her corpse has turned up in a construction worker’s backyard. You spend the night peppering him with questions and raging against the world before he puts you to bed.  

“Stay.” You request reaching for his hand and Nick, he can’t deny you.

You end up lying next to each other under the blankets, his arm wrapped around your waist, holding you close. You take comfort in the press of his firm body against yours, the heat of him. His lips chase away the tears that leak down your cheeks, his nose trailing along yours until his mouth brushes over yours and the sensation of that, it drowns out everything else.

It's Nick that draws away, Nick that becomes the voice of reason because you’re grieving your sister and he’s only three months sober.

“Not like this.” He tells you, his thumb ghosting over the apple of your cheek. “When it happens…”

He trails off because he can’t bring himself to say the words.

I want it to be because you love me.

“I should leave.” He says, his lips brushing over your forehead before he slips out of the sheets. “I’ll come back tomorrow to check on you.”

“Don’t bother.” You say turning your back on him and drawing the sheets up around your shoulders. “I don’t want to see you again until you’ve found my sister’s killer.”

“Look I…”

 “Just go.” You say coldly and Nick feels that ache in his chest returning. “I fucking mean it.”

So he does. You don’t take his calls after that, you ignore his texts. A couple of weeks later Dale Sawyer comes into work like a cat that’s got the cream and Nick doesn’t realise, not then, what that man has to smile about.

“You were right.” You tell him the night he turns up on your door step to check in on you. “To leave that night, it’s not how things should start between the two of us.”

You’re sitting at the kitchen table sharing a pot of Earl Grey tea. The teapot is something Ducky gave you for your birthday, as NCIS’s historian and custodian of records you work together closely investigating your cold cases.

“I’m sorry.” You say as you sip from your mug. “For the way I spoke to you, you deserved better than that.”

“You were grieving.” Nick reminds you before he gestures at the funeral brochures stacked next to you, your notepad sitting upon the top. “Do you need help making the arrangements?”

You sigh as you push the brochures towards him, shaking your head.

“I don’t know what she would have wanted.” You tell him as you wrap both of your hands around your mug. “It’s not something we talked about, she was so young when she disappeared…”

You tilt your head away because your eyes start to sting, and Nick, he reaches for your hand clasping it tightly. He knows that grief, it just keeps coming and no one can combat that. It’s overwhelming, it drowns out your common sense, makes things less manageable.

“You said your sister liked Alison Krauss.” Nick begins as he picks up the notepad and pen. “Let’s start there.

I think they did, there are enough crumbs to give it plausible and they both spent November and December in LA and London respectively. But this is in the same time the Joe stuff was starting so who knows.

This got long, sorry. The TLDNR is:

the canon is Taylor met Joe at the Met, dated Tom, broke up and in October 2016 went to Joe's premiere and started dating him. Although Joe was not in the same country as Taylor for most of that time. In May 2017 they went public and were seen 20 times before Reputation came out in November, it was super public.

An alternate timeline is that after Hendall and Hiddleswift both ended within a month and before Joe/Taylor and Harry/Tess Ward went public within a week the haylor sightings, being in the same city, songs, gifts, blind items, edited videos and friend comments were because they were secretly dating again.

22 September - Hendall break up again.

28 September - Taylor with Cara, Harry MIA, released Another Man covers/mixtape, Joe London.

October - Harry was in Jamaica recording HS1. Joe in London on 3rd. On 13th Joe and Taylor at Bowery enter separately. Joe is in NY for the Billy Lynn Long Halftime Walk promo tour so unlikely to have ample days ahead in NY given the films budget.

11 October - Taylor went to Joe's movie screening and the Rep book has a 19 November polaroid captioned "how would you feel about having a song written about you?"

3 November - Both are in LA for November with HS1 recorded.

December - Both in London, IDWLF released, Taylor has a birthday party at her London House the Rep magazine photos are in, Harry MIA but in London. On 28 December there was an unconfirmed sighting of them together and Taylor gave Austin a record signed by friends of Harry's. He thanked them and the band commented that it was signed for 'a friends little brother' who turned out to be Taylor Swift.' Harry knew them for years and Sam Campbell commented 'LOL'

31 December - in 2020 7 photos of Taylor & Joe getting ready in her London house leaked with this date given. Why only 7? The date of the New Years Eve jumping into an icy pool story Taylor Nation edited out. If the story was about Joe why would it be edited out?

3 January 2017 - Lover journal that Taylor has been with someone for 3 months, no one has found out and she is living in London. It had been 3.1 months since the Hendall break up and 2.5 months since Joe got to NY. .....

As he did for Nashville, breaking the suspender suit tradition, Harry came into MSQ as a… black bird…a swan maybe? Awesome black suit, with feather sleeves that gave him sophisticated rock star vibes.

Harry recharged his energy, proof of it his frenetic dances. 👀Apparently TBSL is here to stay such as the bisexual & BLM flags, and again H appreciated “having each others back” in his speech.

Part of the crowd had little colored lights 🏳️‍🌈that created a pride flag veil in the dark; but he had to call others out bcs they were too disconnected eating and drinking… 😝ha! At least the crowd gave him the opportunity of bringing back eltarry, and of course he did miraculously grabbing those glasses.

He wished hbday to a fan adding “I remember my 22nd birthday… Good times!” aka the moment he quit Modest. 🔥

Just so you know, I adore you for doing things like this. Okay, so a scene from a WIP... I'm going to choose Tammy Thompson Takes on the Upside Down. This is a future scene I wrote a while ago lol. I'm nowhere near it in plot yet. It's a little spoilery so I'm hide it under a read more for those that want to avoid it. It's cute though ;)

Steve was staring at me again.

“What?” I asked.

He startled, like he wasn’t expecting me to notice. “What?”

“You’re staring.” I said. He started fumbling, like he was trying to come up with some sort of excuse. I tried not to sigh. “Steve, I’m okay. The doctor says I’ll be out by the end of the week. Then it’s just physio. It’ll be fine.”

His mouth opened but he stopped himself from whatever he was going to say. He slumped in his seat. “Yeah, it’s just…” he ran a hand through his hair. “You won’t be able to dance anymore. You won’t...you won’t be able to go to Nashville.”

I shrugged. “I never planned to.”

“What?”

“Things change Steve, and so do people. I’m not Tammy anymore. I’m not the girl with those dreams.”

“You’re better.”

I looked up at him. He was looking away from me but he kept talking.

“Doubt Tammy Thompson could have withstood torture like you did. Tammy wouldn’t have risked her life to save some kids.” He looked at me, reached over and touched my hand. “Kate’s clearly better.”

I almost felt like crying. I smiled though. “Thanks.”

“It’s true,” he shrugged. He pulled back and settled back into his chair.

I'm sorry, but, I'm confused as to why you think he DIDN'T record with a live band. We have no idea what he's doing 99% of the time. We know where he's been. There are big huge gaps of unaccounted for time. I also don't think we'll find out exactly which producers he's worked with till he starts single/album promo. Everyone seems to think it's either/or. But it can be all/both. Slow Hands says that he could be recording bits for the rest of the summer AND still writing. We will see.

i mean??? there’s really NOT all that much unaccounted time where he could have been recording with a full live band, from what i’ve seen?? doing that takes quite a bit of time, with jaquire and the studio sessions they had, it was six weeks booked solid for just studio recording time. and it’s not like there would be a day booked here, a day booked there, you know?? i think it’s VERY unlikely that they wouldn’t book out at least a full week or two at a time since live band recording is dependent on so many people being at the same place at the same time. and timeline-wise, there really haven’t been days and weeks on end of unaccounted time where he could have been recording with a live band unless he’s either got a) all of them traveling around with him, b) a different set of guys at each location, and both of those seem VERY unlikely to me, i think??? here look:

Feb 19 - “this is all just the writing time . we make demos and then go and record the songs properly at a later date” this was the last in a series of reassurances that he was only writing up to that point, so unless he’s lying, it’s unlikely that any recording would have happened up to that point.

Feb 19-20 - writing with ruth anne, julian, tobias

Feb 21-March 2 - unaccounted for in LA/heading to Nashville

March 3-8 in Nashville, presumably writing

March 10-march 19 - unaccounted for in London

march 20 - at jamie’s studio

march 25 - multiple answers to IG q&a that imply still in writing stage

march 27 - with jamie, mike, and dan, presumably writing

march 28-april 2 - unaccounted for in london/heading to LA

april 3-5 - in LA, tara also there, presumably for meetings?

april 6-14 - augusta, ga for masters

april 14-20, unaccounted for, presumably on yearly holiday in bahamas

april 22-28 - writing camp at santuary studios in the bahamas (specified as writing camp by santuary studios)

april 29-may 7 - in LA, generally unaccounted for other than

may 13 - "Will probably release something towards the end of the year, I’d like to think. I’m just trying to fine-tune a few bits, record some extra vocals, and I should be ready to go."

and this is JUST album related stuff and doesn’t include anything sport or golf related, so again i ask- WHEN THE FUCK DID HE HAVE THE TIME????? ESPECIALLY for recording with a live band, unless he himself was not in the room at the time??? but i don’t think that’s likely because it just Does Not Makes Sense to me that this man and who i believe him to be would give up control on his second album (HIS NEW BABY!!! :’/) enough to not be there for every second of the recording and creation of it. the only thing that MAYBE makes sense is that he’s got a producer in london that he’s been working with quite a bit 👀🤔

EDIT: i got so caught up in the timeline bit that i didn’t even answer the rest of the question ghlaskdfj but i don’t really know if it’s fair to compare the slow hands sessions to the possibility of writing and recording at the same time NOW, you know?? cause for that, he had those six weeks or so in the studio with jaquire, had the album in a place where he was feeling good about it, 8 songs complete. then he had those slow hands sessions already booked and decided “why not” for the fuck of it, and it seems like from what he showed us then, that was ALSO a case of completing those writing sessions before ever going back to the studio recording sessions with julian. 

with nh2, it seems like the bahamas writing camp was basically the end of writing sessions he had booked, and going off the timeline from nh1, that would mean that he would be transitioning to the proper recording time. obviously that might not be the case considering he’s saying that the album is DONE done, and that’s where a lot of the confusion for me comes from because he’s not following his own patterns and precedents halskjdf
