when steve gets angry he hits things, he screams, he loses control. but never towards the people he loves. he could never stoop that low, never feel himself becoming his father.

when soda gets angry he runs. he doesn't know how to express it, how to tell someone he's frustrated or annoyed or that the world has become too much, so he runs.

when darry gets angry he breaks. he lives building a dam around everything he doesn't want the world to know, everything he's ashamed of, and when something breaks that dam... anything can happen.

when two-bit gets angry he gets drunk. he can't make his dad come back, can't make his sister happy, can't make the social divide disappear. all he can do is try to forget about it.

when ponyboy gets angry he creates destructively. he writes about death and makes entire pages almost black. his pen scribbles so aggressively a hole appears in the paper and he'll always end up destroying whatever it is he's made.

he for sure SAYS he would confidently take the bug outside for you if asked and the bug would be safe and everything would be fine but i dont think he could actually even throw anything at it, hed cower behind buttercream until the bug either just leaves on its own or someone else takes care of it

idk if i’m the only one who has read those comments but according to some people his team is advising him on writing letters to give him “good publicity”. i know they’re not saying that like it’s a bad thing but it’s usually the people who think he did it (and support him for it) and call delusional those who believe there’s even a slight chance he’s being framed. like bffr, that’s his legal team not his pr😭😭 i mean yes, they probably told him not to talk about certain topics but only because it can hurt his case. i genuinely feel his letters 100% genuine🥺

first off, i fully and completely and wholeheartedly believe his letters are 1000% genuine and he's writing those because he wants to and is asking for letters because he wants to keep in touch with the outside world and not because of any other insidious reasons

however he has become a very popular figure regardless of whether people believe his innocence or are adamant about his guilt, and that along with the fact that the government is so ready to do away with him by death penalty/life without parole because he's political fodder and a symbol for what the government counts as an uprising against them, his letters have become more than just letters: they humanize him when the people in power are trying to convince the commoners he's a monster and a terrorist, they show that he's just a normal guy who'd be living normally if he was free and they help the people connect with him on a more humane level, it makes people see him as another person just like them who's going through a terrible ordeal and makes people want him to be as free as they are, once again

none of that is pr strategy, it is just his unique position in today's world that simultaneously elevates him to godhood and diminishes him to that of a monster in the same breath and that narrative together makes his letters his only true voice of connecting to the masses who support him

his legal team has of course instructed him to be aware of the fact that none of his letters are truly private given the nature of the case and he seems to have been following their advice pretty well

You know, like one Vol'jin wears thats on the banner and tabard to represent the Darkspear. Maybe Rokhan reminiscing when Vol'jin made his own to emphasize the meaning behind them.

I get the sense that Phil just likes to make “”weird”” stuff and has somewhat dialed back his weirdness due to his popularity and age. But I would love to see what an unfiltered 30 year old phil Lester video would look like. What stories does he want to tell? How does he want to tell those stories?

honestly i think phil is really good at playing out whatever his brain is thinking at the time. i think a lot of people struggle with ideas because they'll be seen as too 'weird' or 'strange' or even 'impossible', and what's neat about phil is he either doesn't have those boxes, or he's able to push through them in pursuit of creating the thing to its full potential. people describe him as creative, which he is, but i think it leaves out some of his best attributes as a creator. he's inventive--remember the countless trends and challenges that came from him that have swept the internet? he's fearless--and this doesnt mean that he's not afraid of anything (for phil its probably the opposite actually) but he does things despite the fear, regardless of the unknown. he's a relentless and passionate creator who likes to make things and values seeing them through to the end. but he's not naive either--he and dan have talked about each other being their harshest critics. it's not just that he's an ideas guy, he's a good ideas guy who knows how to make something flourish.

i don't think current phil is sitting in a box waiting for his chance to break free of his popularity. he could've stopped years ago, similar to dan, if he didn't want this. but he likes doing it. he gets to have his choice on which of his ideas turn into projects, without having the stress of Needing a brilliant idea and execution every week. right now i think a lot of his energy is focused on the gaming channel. as he's expressed to us a few times, it was him who really wanted it back, and he's been ready for a long time. dan's even admitted that he's been enjoying it, and i think a lot of that comes down to phil's creative directing. he loves the gaming channel and is so thrilled it's back--his own content has taken a step back in terms of upload regularity, and i genuinely don't think he could be happier about it.

i would love a big phil project, but i honestly don't see him doing a tour of his own unless he brings dan with him, and then why not have it be something they can do together? does that make sense? that seems to be his thought process about things. it's why i've suggested taskmaster cause it's a local thing that wouldn't keep him from home for a long while, but he does get to flex his creativity, intelligence, and humour.

i'm looking forward to anything phil does. his current project seems to be making dan happy and they're both having a lot of fun doing that

“Off to see that boy again, Lord Julius?” 

Julius’s smile faded at the sound of the voice behind him, dripping with mockery. The prince turned his head back, “Manfroy,” his own voice filled with slight annoyance as he addressed the hooded man behind him, “that is of no concern to you.” He turned back, continuing down hall.

“On the contrary, I believe this unnatural relationship of yours is of concern,” Manfroy hissed, “especially since it involves the fate of your future bloodline.” Julius simply scoffed and ignored him, “you know,” something seem to snap violently within Julius as the next words left Manfroy’s mouth, “if this infatuation of yours becomes too much… I might just have to get rid of that boy.”

Julius stopped dead in his tracks, anger flared within him and he lunged at Manfroy with a snarl, “How dare you threaten what’s mine,” he glared at Manfroy, “the only concern you should have is serving me.”

A low chuckle escaped Manfroy’s lips as he faced the prince, “I may serve you faithfully, but make no mistake Prince Julius, my true allegiance lies with Lord Loptous.” His sickening grin grew wider, “if your actions don’t align with my Lord’s, then I’ll have no choice but to take proper action.” 

The area around them cackled with dangerous energy as Julius bristled, “If you lay a single finger on Morgan, I’ll grind every bone in your body to dust.” He silently cursed the contract in place, he’d end this miserable snake in an instant if he could.

But if he was able to, he wouldn’t be able to in the first place

Julius felt the corners of his head start to pound painfully at the cryptic thought, but he refused to show any sign of distress, hiding it behind a threatening gaze, “contract or not, I will see to it if you dare harm him.” He pushed Manfroy away and turned to leave.

“Ah the contract,” Manfroy called after him as if he were bored, “a word of caution Prince Julius, this contract is but a temporary safeguard. What do you think would happen once the contract ends and poor Morgan is in front of you?” Julius’s steps halted as his mind started to imagine horrible scenarios he wanted to block out. 

But he knew Manfroy already accomplished what he wanted, the hooded man was gone by the time Julius turned around.

“Tsk,” Julius scoffed, turning back sharply. His breath started to rise in a panic as he felt talons gripping his skull. His hands shook, his eyes drifted down and slammed shut as blood trickled down them. It’s not real… get out of my head!

Stop… Julius stumbled and barely caught himself on the wall, he felt dizzy, his head hurt. He leaned against the wall breathing heavily until the pain subsided. Images of Morgan’s mangled body seared fresh into his mind, he wouldn’t… he would never…

He took a few shaky breaths before breaking into a run towards Morgan’s room, he felt cold, like the blood in his veins had frozen into ice. Julius needed warmth, his warmth. 

His hands trembled as he pounded on Morgan’s door, his knocks became more frantic when there was no immediate answer. He didn’t wait for a response and forced the door open, his heart thumped painfully, his legs felt weak.

There he was, admiring the view from his balcony. Morgan turned to the sound of Julius’s swift footsteps but didn’t have time to react before Julius pulled him into a tight hug, “J-Julius?” He gasped in surprise, Julius didn’t reply him and squeezed him as if Morgan was a lifeline. Morgan could feel the prince’s trembling grip, “what happened?”

“J-just stay like this… please…” Julius whispered, the only words he could say. His heartbeat calming as he held Morgan in his arms, he was safe… he was safe…

Morgan blinked but his hands found their place on Julius’s back, “ok,” he nuzzled into Julius, “I’m here…”

Just rewatched episode 5 of Onyx Equinox and it just gets to me how Yun was fatally wounded and still worried more about Izel's wellbeing (even though he's the one who broke his leg in the first place) and wanted him and K'in to stop fighting, and only cried and expressed his fear of dying after everyone else left. He was literally dying but he still tried to keep it together, probably because he didn't want K'in to panic more than he already was. He spent the whole episode putting everyone else's needs above his own even though he was dying and I'm having feelings about this
