The amount of misinformation surrounding nutrition is absolutely absurd. If you ask the average person who thinks they know a lot about nutrition, they'll likely have less than 0 understanding of how it works. If you ever have a question about nutrition or exercise, I genuinely cannot recommend Renaissance Periodization enough. The only way information gets put out is if a consideration of ALL the scientific literature is considered, and I have literally never seen them put out any bad info. I've seen Dr. Mike recommend people not buy his powerlifting training templates because he thought juggernaut.ai was better. I have never seen a more honest source of information coming out of the industry. Even people who are similarly respected end up plugging bullshit supplements or, at the very least, will NOT tell you if a competitor is a better source of information. If you ever, for any reason, find yourself thinking you know something about nutrition and that understanding guides how you eat or train, PLEASE look up an RP video on the topic. (they are also an extremely good source of info for bodybuilding and strength building (and yes, bodybuilders are very strong, and anyone who tells you they're show muscles and not practical muscles are 99/100 times weaker than even amateur bodybuilders))

Meet Koobori & Shin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The oldest of five brothers, Koobori was an animal lover from the start, and had his parents take him to zoos almost weekly. Koobori knew he wanted to become a zoologist and conservationist the moment he watched a documentary on an animal network. He also became fascinated by bodybuilding at a young age, and committed to working out to be able to compete in shows, winning 2nd place in a show held in Bushsray at just 17 years old, and became an IFBB Pro by the age of 22, to where he continues to compete to this day when he gets the chance.
Never the type to sit still, if he wasn’t playing sports or actively with his brothers, he was always out traveling the outbacks of Kiwattle, surfing, and diving in reefs; sometimes even volunteering at schools to give wildlife shows to kids.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shin was born with strong psychic abilities, able to sense the presence of spirits from a young age. For many years he trained as a Kannushi, and was able to banish yurei and yokai from abandoned homes with much ease. At the age of 17 he had decided to join nursing school, since he always enjoyed helping others.
Tumblr media
Both met by pure chance. Shin was heading to school when he stopped to check out a large crowd near a convention building, when he spotted Koobori posing for fans and the cameras in all his half naked glory. When he was too shy to get any closer, Koobori practically shoved his way through the crowd to approach Shin and ask him out to the best ramen shop in the city (he described that any trophies and medals he won didn’t matter as much as wanting a date with the Ustonese guy). Shin’s Common was too broken at the time to understand what the Kiwi was saying, but he could tell by the expression alone on the muscular man that he was being asked out. Realizing he was running late, Shin agreed and handed Koobori every form of contact he had, and rushed to school.
Both now have three sons, Giallo (16), Calder (12) and Oshan (9), and expect their triplets (which Kobori promises will be their last kids).
Hey guys! Back at it again, and this time with my oldest couple relative to age closeness lol. Yeah, I finally drew an older couple expecting kids, but there’s a reason for that, and that’s because their oldest kid was part of a series of characters I did many, many years ago as the lead of said series. So you can say they aren’t the main characters but that doesn’t matter as I’m not really sure where I’ll head with these two at the moment. I like them a lot, but for further related context Koobori here is actually a modernized drawing of him, now with an improved style and anatomy, design, etc.
Long ago before I came out and before I did much actually characters development, most of my characters were just colorful and there for the sake of being there, so Koobori was married to a woman originally, and so I’ve pretty much decided on redoing the entire characters a new way. Koobori is now married to this guy, who’s an entirely new character, and still has the same amount of kids, only now they’re going to be designed to better suit their designs and origins, etc.
I’ll stop there for now as I want to surprise you guys later on when I get these designs more fleshed out, but I’m happy with this design on Koobori, and I like his hubby. It’s the first time I’ve drawn a fully South Asian characters and damn are they HARD to do.
Here’s the tattoo design on Shin’s shoulder and his badge ID if anyone wanted to get a closer look at them.
Lastly, here’s a comparison of the old and new Koobori. Like wow.

Success Stories - Case Studies of People Who Achieved Their Goals Through Manifestation
Tumblr media
Manifestation allows people to transform their intentions into reality. But how does this practice work in real life? Let's explore success stories of some who attribute their achievements to the practice of manifestation. Through these case studies, we will see how mindsets, beliefs, and actions aligned to produce tangible results in their lives.
1. Jim Carrey: Visualized Success in Hollywood
Jim Carrey, the famous actor and comedian, is one of the most well-known stories of manifestation. Early in his career, he wrote himself a fake check for 10 million dollars, dated five years in the future, as payment for his services as an actor. He carried the check with him, consistently visualizing his success. Exactly five years later, Carrey received a 10 million dollar check for his role in the film "Dumb and Dumber." Carrey attributes part of his success to the practice of visualizing his future and firmly believing in his potential.
2. Oprah Winfrey: Manifested the Life of Her Dreams
Oprah Winfrey, one of the most influential women in the world, is another advocate of manifestation. From a young age, Oprah used visualization and positive affirmations to overcome the hardships of her childhood and build the life she wanted. She always believed that her success was, in part, a result of her ability to manifest her desires. In various interviews, Oprah has shared that she always visualized her success and believed in it even before it happened.
3. Arnold Schwarzenegger: Manifested Greatness in Multiple Careers
Arnold Schwarzenegger used manifestation to achieve goals at different stages of his life. As a bodybuilder, Schwarzenegger consistently visualized the physique he wanted to achieve, which helped him win titles like Mr. Olympia. Later, he applied the same principles when entering the film industry, visualizing himself as a Hollywood star, even when it seemed impossible due to his strong accent and lack of experience. Eventually, he became one of the biggest movie stars. Schwarzenegger also used manifestation when he decided to enter politics, visualizing himself as the Governor of California, a goal he also achieved.
4. Conor McGregor: Manifested a Legendary UFC Career
Conor McGregor, one of the most well-known MMA fighters in the world, is a strong advocate of manifestation. From the beginning of his career, McGregor spoke openly about how he visualized his victories before each fight. He not only visualized the outcome but also the specific details, such as the exact moment he would win and the emotions he would feel. This practice helped him build confidence and focus, contributing to his success in the UFC. McGregor became the first fighter to hold two simultaneous titles in different weight classes, and he firmly believes that manifestation played a crucial role in his journey.
5. Lady Gaga: Manifested Fame and Success in Music
Before becoming a global star, Lady Gaga used manifestation to visualize her successful career. She would tell herself and others that she would be famous, even before she had a major opportunity. Lady Gaga embodied this mindset in everything she did, from her performances in small clubs to her early recordings. In interviews, she has shared that she always saw herself as a star and acted according to that vision, which helped her attract the right opportunities and build a remarkable career in music and film.
6. Denzel Washington: Manifested Purpose and Success in Acting
Denzel Washington is another example of someone who used manifestation to achieve success. In his youth, Washington received a prophecy from a woman at church, who said he would travel the world and speak to millions of people. He kept this message close to his heart and used it as motivation throughout his career. Denzel not only visualized success but also dedicated himself to developing his acting skills. Today, he is one of Hollywood's most respected actors and attributes part of his success to his unwavering belief in his purpose and the power of manifestation.
7. Steve Harvey: Manifested a Successful Career in Entertainment
Steve Harvey, comedian and television host, is a strong advocate of manifestation. He grew up in humble circumstances but always dreamed of becoming a big name in entertainment. In his book and in speeches, Harvey shares how he used manifestation to overcome challenges and achieve success. He wrote his goals on paper and visualized them every day, firmly believing that they would become a reality. Today, Steve Harvey is one of the most well-known TV hosts in America, with a career that includes radio shows, television, and best-selling books. He believes that the power of faith and manifestation played a crucial role in his journey.
8. Jim Carrey (Part 2): Manifested Specific Movie Roles
In addition to the famous 10 million dollar check, Jim Carrey also used manifestation to land specific movie roles. Before being cast in films like "The Mask" and "Ace Ventura," he would drive to Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles and visualize film directors calling him for these roles. He imagined what it would be like to be in these films and the impact they would have on his career. This practice helped him maintain confidence and motivation while working to achieve his goals. Eventually, Carrey was cast in these roles, which propelled him to fame.
9. Will Smith: Manifested Success and Happiness
Will Smith, actor and musician, deeply believes in the power of manifestation. From a young age, he visualized success and worked hard to achieve it. In various interviews, Smith has talked about how he believes our thoughts and words have the power to shape our reality. He visualized his success as an actor, even when he was only known as a rapper. His confidence and determination led him to become one of Hollywood's highest-paid and most recognized actors. Smith attributes part of his success to his positive mindset and the practice of manifesting his desires.
10. Beyoncé: Manifested Perfection in Her Performances
Beyoncé is known for her perfectionism and dedication in her performances, and she believes in the power of manifestation to achieve excellence. From the start of her career, she visualized the type of artist she wanted to be and worked hard to manifest that vision. Beyoncé plans every detail of her performances with the belief that visualization and mental preparation are as important as physical rehearsal. Her meticulous approach and belief in the power of manifestation have helped her become one of the most iconic and influential artists in the world.
These stories show that the practice of manifestation has been used by a variety of people in different fields to achieve their dreams and goals. Why not you?

May you share your Arkana headcanons?
:)
Ok so
They're both idiots when it comes to crushes. Idiots who would rather pine then Actually confess, and also, complete and utterly oblivious to any of the ways the other might try to flirt. Blame it on the regional differences and being bad at being social. So you end up with 2 people who, by all reasons, could just confess, but Won't. I like my ships stupid your honour/hj
When Montana is flustered, half the time it's completely internal, and the man just stares. There was a point before they became friends, that Arkansas thought he had it out for him
They gift eachother things! Like crows and magpies! Montana is the Treasure state, he's got a gem collection. Every so often Arkansas will open his door to find a pretty little gem sitting outside it. Arkansas is the diamond state. He gifts Montana little jewlery, like earrings. If they were to get married Arkansas is absolutely making their rings
They are "unconventional" beauty. Hooked and/Or crooked noses, moles, wrinkles, etc. Arkansas has starting to grey hair, to me. Montana's has random lighter brown/Gold strands
They are both Built. Not in a bodybuilder way, in the "Looks soft but is very strong" Way. Like bears? It's 3am forgive me the exact words fail me. Anyway, point being, they are both people that wouldn't expect to be picked up by a partner abd they can both very much pick their partner up
Montana is the 4th largest state. He's gotta be at least a head taller then Arkansas
Cowboy Montana. I don't think I have to explain. You get it. Man has a ranch still
Arkansas is more mechanically inclined, fixes their cars n such, and things around the house
Montana speaking both French and Spanish. Arkansas gets called "Mi tesoro" And "Mon cher" but most often, "Mon diamant"
They are the "My witch girlfriend" (Arkansas) "Me doing whatever the hell she wants" (Montana) Thing
In pre confession era they ramble so much about eachother. Texas and Wyoming are So Sick Of It. They're so lovesick. It's terrible. They're both so awkward about it too. Arkansas is tripping over his speech, Montana kinda just freezes like a deer in headlights. They have habits of gifting eachother things and immediately running away. Once they can be more normal, that mostly goes away. Except for one someone accidentally does something too romantic and now it's a whole Thing (50% chance the other person did Not notice)
They are both sort of quiet people. Don't prefer to do restaurant type dates
They patch eachother up <3 Look being immortal doesn't improve your fine moter skills and a tendency to be a dumbass. Sometimes you get burned while trying to fix something. Sometimes there are reasons you don't hike alone Montana
Hugeeeeee simps. Pre dating they are accidentally distracting eachother all the time
Montana getting Arkansas to teach him stuff (He is not paying attention on how to fix a car. Look he WAS. But now Arkansas is guiding his hands and his mind blanked. Lord help him
Montana loves the cold! Practically immune. Does own winter gear, but rarely uses it if he doesn't have to. Arkansas hates the cold. Living heater x living freezer
There probably is more, but my memory fails me

I have a Sanford confession (that I also posted on my blog but I feel the need to also say it here since we've been on a Sanford roll)
I kinda don't like when people draw Sanford like a bodybuilder.
Like okay I TOTALLY get it. It's aesthetically pleasing (to a point) and we all enjoy drooling over him. I'm by no means mad about the usual portrayal.
But that's not a healthy representation I dont think?
Like.
Okay.
That bodybuilder physique that you see in movies etc. Is usually obtained through very target training focused on looks and not function, and also plenty of dehydration and/or starvation.
That makes their endurance horrible.
Does that sound practical for a guy who needs to consistently fight for his life and throw people around for hours at a time? No!
More people should draw Sanford like a strongman. Give him some tummy. Some actual meat on his bones besides muscle. He doesn't need to look like a movie star to be stronk as fuck!!
-🌌⭐
i totally agree! i think i kind of draw him with the bodybuilder body type cause i just kind of like...assumed thats accurate? but i think ur more right abt the actually strong build and i should draw that more. thank u anon
though i think in my art i kind of soft play the muscles bc i. fucking look at them
Tumblr media
idk how to draw all that....

the post about the characters' in universe attractiveness got me curious about something kind of similar; what about the characters' in universe physical strength? the only character that i can think of to have their physical strength actually stated is honami, due to her having muscles from drumming. i believe akito is also stated to be pretty strong? though i can't really remember. and emu has always read to me to be one of the more physically strong characters due to her various stunts where she Jumps From High Places And Is Perfectly Fine. toya, meanwhile, is stated to be one of the weaker characters i believe.
these are the only few that come to mind for me right now but there are probably more that i can't remember right now
You'd be right about Akito. In fact, he is depicted as unnaturally strong, though I'll give a free pass for the fact it's meant to be part of a funny scene.
Tumblr media
He's carrying Tsukasa while running a reasonable distance at a high speed. Akito is very athletic and plays a lot of sports, but Tsukasa also has dance training and does stunts so presumably has a reasonable amount of muscle mass on top of being around average weight (he is a big eater as well but he seems to burn a lot of it on excercise so how much his appetite adds to his weight is debatable). I won't bother you with all the physics and sports science to keep this concise but there is a lot of force being exerted onto Akito's knees in this card, and this would genuinely be impossible to accomplish in real life.
Rui is pretty strong. He carries heavy machinery around constantly, and carries a shitload of stuff with him camping in Exciting Picnic, including a weighted training device that Nene struggles to use but he carries about with a whole backpack full of other things no problem. In Island Panic, he carries Tsukasa who already has Emu on his shoulders and Nene on hers, in order to reach some bananas. He ended up taking most of the weight since Tsukasa started to sneeze. In his card story from Pandemonium he also packs way to much stuff in his bag but says that it wouldn't be a struggle to carry. He's probably where Wonderland SEKAI MEIKO gets her strength from.
Adding to that, Emu is pretty strong. She carries Nene on her shoulders in Island Panic as I just mentioned, and she does loads of sports clubs such as gymnastics and swimming, so her overall strength is probably pretty good.
As I mentioned, Tsukasa is probably pretty strong, since he does a lot of training and stunts and was able to lift both Emu and Nene in Island Panic. That said, there is this area conversation:
Tumblr media
hopefully this is readable, I just screenshot it out my drafts because it's been sitting there in case it ever came in handy. So he might not be that strong? The Island Panic scene is more played for comedy so it may be exaggerating how strong he actually is. At the very least it seems like he has weaker core strength. Though as mentioned, he does do a lot of stunts and already had dance and stage training prior to WxS, so he's probably still above average.
also I want to point out what Rui says in the 5th panel is like. kinda bullshit. not entirely but. kinda. bodybuilding is more for aesthetics and while building muscle = building strength it only works to a certain extent with bodybuilding and if you want to work on strength actual strength training is far more practical. it's a joke i know it's a joke and i shouldn't take it this seriously.
we can assume mafuyu is pretty strong because she's good at everything and is stated to be pretty athletic. not the most reliable claim but the game does like to bring up the fact that she's good at everything. she also does archery which requires a lot of upper body strength.
kanade is not strong at all but that should be self-explanatory.
toya isn't that strong either i don't think. more specifically he's not very athletic but these two things tend to cross over a bit (Kamiyama Sports Fes shows he's terrible at throwing things). he probably has pretty good stamina though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
haruka does weight training you can spot some weights in her room. you can also spot some smaller weights in airi and shizuku's rooms. Makes sense because you need to have good fitness for idol work. Shizuku also does archery with Mafuyu so her upper body strength is pretty good.
i think that's everyone there's evidence for.

I think that everyone is soooo unnecessarily glamorized in the fanarts
It wouldn't be a problem if people wouldn't hate everybody who draws less "standart hot" versions of characters. I'm only familiar enough with mdzs lore so this is primarily about it; but the other danmei fanart is also the same.
People are bringing up "realism" as an excuse to draw literally every male character as a hot ripped dude with 2 meter shoulders and 6 abs pack. Like, realistically it's not that! They are not bodybuilders, they are warriors and for warrior looks don't matter as much as the actual physique. Of course they are fit and strong but the rogue cultivators don't have that much food to build huge muscles; sect leaders do smth like paperwork most of the time and don't exercise that much; Wei Wuxian of Yiling Patriarch era is literally malnourished! And ppl have the audacity to draw Nie Huaisang (whose important character trait is that he avoids any physical exercise and weapon practice and uses his brain instead) as muscular and proceed to be mad at any fanart which depicts him differently
I'm not salty I promise I'm just tired of my *native language* side of fandom making fun of somebody "looking fat/too skinny" on the fanarts when that somebody is literally just Not The Generic Hot Anime Dorito Guy" Image

WRESTLING SUPERSTARS: Winter 1988
KERRY VON ERICH   12,376 votes
FINALLY, FANS AROUND the country will find out what Texans have known for years: Kerry Von Erich is one sexy wrestler. Even Kerry was surprised by this year’s support. In fact, the vote total he received this time around almost doubles the number of ballots he received in the 1986 installment of our poll.
“Wow, I’m really amazed,” said the ever-humble Von Erich. “I guess my fans stuffed the ballot box! Are you sure that total is right?”
It was exactly that Von Erich shyness that most fans cited as Kenny’s most attractive trait.
“I’m sick to death of wrestling's egotistical bodybuilders!” wrote Amy Grossberg of Mobile, Alabama. “Guys like Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan are so full of themselves and their muscles that they don’t care about anything else but their muscles. Kerry is muscular, but he’s different. Sure, he’s built like a Greek statue, but he never lets his physique or his ring success or his status as a fan idol go to his head. His smile is the pure smile of a humble, yet satisfied, man. That’s the sexiest quality in any man–humility and a strong sense of one’s self as a competent individual.”
“I can’t exactly put my finger on it, but it’s his entire look,” wrote Lynn Bell of Russell, Kansas. “When he walks into the ring wearing just his jeans and nothing else, I practically faint! He also has that gorgeous, long, flowing hair, and a smile that could paralyze me from anywhere in the state.
What a body, too!”

what's your #1 chapter/moment? by character if you're up to writing another essay
"if you're up to writing another essay". you guys know me so well <3
For the sake of not taking like 8 weeks to answer this ask, I'll limit this to just the Hoshinos for now.
Ai: So, my actual fave Ai moment is not from the manga itself so I'll pick my fave manga moment then talk about my actual fave moment. It's fine, she's my favourite so she gets preferential treatment!!!! (saitou behaviour……)
From the manga itself, my favourite Ai moment is her death, believe it or not lol. I'm one of the Oshi no Sickos who think her arc being capped by her death is narratively speaking the perfect conclusion to everything we learn about her life – the entertainment industry ruined every opportunity Ai ever had at a normal life up to and having that conclude with Ai's literal, actual life being taken by an embodiment of the misogyny and violence that's been inflicted on her since she was a child is such a miserable, cathartic bit of tragedy. But moreso than that, what resonates with me so strongly about this moment is how Ai responds to it - or rather, how she fails to respond.
Even though it would make so much sense for her to be bitter or angry or upset, she makes an active choice to spend her last moments alive pouring out love and literally spends her last breaths on telling Ruby and Aqua she loves them. It says so, so much about what a deeply kind and incredibly strong person Ai is that she was able to do that.
My actual favourite Ai moment is her conversation with Kyun in Viewpoint B and the reveal that their meeting in the park was so impactful to Ai that it lead her to consider Kyun her closest friend for years afterwards. Like her death, the way Ai goes out of her way to approach Kyun and try to reach out to her speaks so deeply so her kindness and her desire to connect with other people and there's a little part of me that always wonders if maybe if this fleeing friendship had come to pass for real, Ai might have been saved. At the very least, there's something bitterly sweet about knowing that for as alone as Ai was in B-Komachi, she had someone she called a friend even so.
Aqua: Honestly, I love so many Aqua moments, it's hard to pick just one but I will never be over the Piyeon ruse. Aqua was so put out by the girl he has a crush on not talking to him that he dressed as a bodybuilding chicken with a squeaky voice for a week. Literally the most teenage thing any teenager in this series has done. Embarrassing ass kid.
My actual serious answer is Aqua's breakdown during Tokyo Blade - specifically, the 'internal' scenes where he's confronted by both Goro and his younger self. These are so, so important for getting at the core of who Aqua really is and they're honestly bone-chilling to read. Seeing Goro as this malicious, intrusive force who is preventing Aqua from being happy, seeing the words he batters Aqua with and realizing that this is the kind of shit Aqua probably thinks about himself every day honestly kind of turns my stomach a bit! It's clear before this that Aqua struggles with self-hate and self-blame but seeing the sheer extent of it is so horrible.
That this confrontation essentially climaxes in the hallway where Ai died, with Aqua face to face with his younger self, also underlines something that's really fundamental to understanding who Aqua is; at his core, Aqua has never stopped being that little boy covered in his mother's blood. He has, emotionally speaking, never been able to leave that hallway and until he allows himself to do so, he's going to continue self destructing and taking everyone down with him.
It's honestly the scene I'm most excited to see animated... season 2 can't come soon enough!!!
Ruby: Without a doubt it has to be her and Ai's dance practice scene back in volume 1, but especially in the anime's portrayal of it. I think OnK's handling of the past life stuff is at its best in moments like this, where it actually meaningfully engages with what it would mean for someone to carry such deep trauma from their past and how it would continue to affect them going forward. We get little hints of this leading up to it, like Ruby outright saying she's never thought about her future (implicitly because she was aware she would not have one as Sarina) and the way she so enthusiastically gives her all to playing and having fun with other kids at school - because those are things that she never got to do as Sarina. But her dance scene and her thoughts leading up to it really hammer in just how deeply this has affected Ruby - she spends almost three years living with the expectation that at any moment, her body will betray and hurt her for seemingly no reason to the point that it affects how she walks and carries herself moment to moment.
This is also a really good Ai moment for her as a moment and it also highlights something really special about Ai and Ruby's relationship I feel we don't get as much post-timeskip; how genuinely healing and wonderful their connection was for both of them. I've talked before about the running motif of toxic motherhood on Oshi no Ko and how Ai, as a character, is sort of a refutation of the other shitty oshi no moms in the series. Knowing that both Ai and Ruby are victims of toxic mothers, it makes it so deeply, incredibly powerful that these two victims find healing and acceptance in each other and the genuinely loving and supportive mother/daughter bond they have with each other.
The anime's version of this scene is also just easily one of its biggest highlights for me. The gorgeous colours, the overlapping of Sarina and Ruby's voices and the palpable affection Ruby and Ai have for each other... it's just so lovely and it makes me a little teary-eyed every time I watch it. The transformation of Sarina's sorrow into Ruby's joy and empowerment is such an important foundational part of Ruby's arc in the first part of the series and I'm so glad the anime really got it right.

The Fitness Routine of Bruce Lee
One of the things Bruce Lee dedicated himself to was strength training. At the time, many martial artists believed that bodybuilding or similar activities would make them bulky and slow. However, he preferred short, full-body workouts lasting 20 to 30 minutes, using compound exercises, which are multi-joint movements. He felt that these compound movements were beneficial for his martial arts practice because they engaged a large number of muscles simultaneously, contributing to overall body strength and the ability to execute martial arts effectively.
Bruce typically strength trained two to three times a week, and his programme was always evolving. He also incorporated circuit training, moving from exercise to exercise, which is quite standard today but was not as common at the time. He would perform strength training in circuits, repeating them, and he also included different types of circuit training that incorporated aerobics, such as skipping. His circuit training addressed three aspects of fitness: aerobic, anaerobic, and flexibility.
Additionally, he was a proponent of isometrics. He had specific chains and machines designed for holding maximum tension during exercises, such as a bicep curl at full intensity. While he believed one should not overdo isometrics, he included them in his routine daily, contracting muscles in a static position.
In terms of aerobic fitness, Bruce Lee focused on steady-state cardio, going for long jogs and skipping. He once had a fight and won after three minutes but was disappointed in himself for being winded. This experience led to a shift in his fitness philosophy; he recognised the importance of strong heart and lung endurance for real fights. Consequently, he incorporated high-intensity interval training into his running routine, alternating between sprinting and walking. Flexibility was another key component of his training. He had a stretching routine that he followed before workouts, believing it was crucial for performance. This emphasis on flexibility is evident in his fight scenes, such as the one with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, where his kicks demonstrated remarkable leg flexibility.
He also dedicated time to skill work, including bag work. He cautioned against excessive bag training, as it could lead to complacency, but he certainly honed his skills through various kicks and punches.
Overall, Bruce Lee developed a comprehensive fitness system. He trained intensely, and even if one does not follow his specific training programme, which can be found in the book "The Art of Expressing the Human Body," one can learn from his approach. He was a philosopher in his own right, conducting research, absorbing what was useful, discarding what was not, and experimenting to gain a deeper understanding of himself. He was committed to pushing beyond limits, valuing continuous progression in his fitness journey.

Talking to someone for a RP and it make me go back and look at my virgil headcanons and this shit slaps so take it. Please I want yalls opinions
- Virgil is naturally nocturnal. Always has been. Something about anxiety meaning vigilance meaning watching over the pack at night instinct. At least that’s how he explains it.
- If you condescend him or treat him like a child he lashes out.
- He has a funky lil power of SPIDER LEGS coming from his back. He can also spin webs from his fingers. The fiber is silk-like and can be dyed after it is produced. He uses it for barricading his door if he wants to be alone, creating fun swinging hammocks, and as a sort of knitting. Patton hates it. It’s all too much spider for him.
- Virgils also like 6’10. Like he’s unreasonably tall.
- If you talk to Virgil from behind without making your presence known first he will turn around and punch you.
- Speaking of punching. Virgil likes to use a punching bag in his room but often neglects to wrap or glove his hands so his hands are almost always completely busted and bloody, or at least red raw.
- This has the benefit of making him Fucking Strong. You can’t tell under the baggy hoodie but he has decent muscle. He doesn’t look like a bodybuilder but he… has like, a swimmers body. Strong but slender.
- Virgil has very odd food habits and doesn’t often come to meals (to Pattons dismay). He mostly snacks throughout the day. If he does come to dinner to socialise with the group, he’ll have a mug of broth or something similar. He’s fine, he just doesn’t like eating in big sittings.
- He has three normal piercings to each ear and an industrial bar piercing at the top of both too.
- He has a body-mod split tongue. Remus helped with that before Virgil left the dark sides.
- When not in the vicinity of the light sides, he likes to switch back to his old hoodie.
- He has a lot of incense and a lot of scented candles in his room. He also can change the atmosphere. Back when everyone got anxious in his room he didn’t have much control over it, but he’s gotten much better at it since.
- He has a little closet in his room that is full of pillows, blankets, and even a few fairy lights, as well as a few weighted plushies (all funky little spiders). It’s a calm-down space.
- He’s autistic.
- When over-tired, stressed, or at the peak of his anxiety, Virgil often hallucinates. This can be things such as being swarmed by rats, eyes watching him, or hands in the corner of his vision, coming from under furniture, around doors and the like.
- He hates coffee.
- Virgil can drink upwards of 5 energy drinks a day (because, as mentioned, he’s practically nocturnal if he doesn’t), and as a result always has very prominent shakes. He can usually hide it by pulling his hands into his massive baggy hoodie, but if you catch him pouring a drink, changing clothes, or anything that would cause his hands or general upper body to be visible, he will be trembling a *lot.*
- He has nothing against Romans colour choice, but he sometimes jumps when seeing him simply because red reminds him of danger, blood and fire, and as a result, red is a colour that makes Virgil anxious.
- Virgil is almost always in fight or flight mode. He fights more so than flights. If you scare him, you will probably get knocked out or at least get a good bruise.
- Virgil has scars on his arms from his nails, which are sharp and stained black. When he panics, he digs them into his arms subconsciously, and he’s self conscious of the deep, crescent moon shaped scars his nails have left behind.
- When Virgil cries, the tears turn to smoke after falling down his face. If he’s sobbing, it can become genuinely hard to help because he is literally creating his own smoke screen.
- Virgils blood is jet black, and sticky, like tar. If you try tasting it for some reason, it’s bitter and rancid tasting, and is heavy on iron. If you hold a magnet on it when it’s outside Virgil’s body, it will stick to the magnet.

This came in on an eNewsletter recently and I like what it has to say, mostly because I feel like a lot of queer people see a lot of barriers to going to the gym, or may not even realize they could be a gym-going type.
I didn't like the gym for the first, oh, three decades of my life. I figured it just wasn't for me. I like being strong, but I found way more engagement in more "practical" pursuits - gardening, dancing, cleaning, sports, whatever. Something that made me feel like I was *doing* something other than picking things up and putting them down again.
For me, a couple things changed about that. First off, I met someone who wrote me a workout. It seems like such a simple thing, but we were talking about body image and he mentioned that he makes gender-affirming workouts. Oh shit? Yeah. It may sound obvious when it's spelled out like that, but it turns out that the way you work out can build your body in ways that emphasize how *you* want to look.
My guy has a giant spreadsheet of exercises, a bunch of geeky knowledge, and a passion for finding what works for people. He pulled some things together and sent me a workout designed to help me build a masculine/androgynous body. No one had ever given me anything but a standard "female" workout before. Suddenly, it was like I had a whole new chance. I wasn't stuck building legs and core forever, emohasizing the parts of myself that I didn't even like. I could de-emphasize those while still keeping them strong, and focus on what *I* wanted to see! And, instead of the same workout every day, this one cycles over a month: twelve workouts, four weeks, and a lot of different things to do. After years of doing the same thing every time I went to the gym, I was so much more engaged. It's technically a bodybuilding routine, so while I'm definitely getting stronger, this whole workout is about boosting the appearance of muscle (muscular hypertrophy). Perfect for gender affirmation where my goal is to update my physical appearance to match my identity.
A few weeks after I started going to the gym, I also finally got on HRT. For me, that meant a low dose of T that had the side effect of making me feel like the gym was exactly where I needed to be, regardless of how I viewed the place and what kinds of people I expected to find there. Finally, for the first time in my life, I had a goal I could latch on to (looking the way I want to look), a routine that focused on exactly that, enough variety to keep me entertained, and an adolescent need to go be a muscley idiot and sweat.
I'm a little over a year into my current routine. The motivation doesn't last forever, and it shouldn't. But what does last is that I know I'm working on what *I* want to see from myself, not what some trainer decided I need. I felt like someone had finally listened to what I wanted and built something for me around that. And now I know that every time I go, I'm supporting something that I WANT. I even started getting those happy brain chemical boosts that everyone goes on about. On days when my gender euphoria isn't enough, I still know that my mood will genuinely improve if I go do my workout. That never happened before! I can't begin to list the number of times my partner helps me get out the door to the gym and I send him a message 45 minutes later saying "yeah, I feel a lot better now." It even helps me with my disabilities, including building the muscles that stabilize my joints so I'm not falling apart.
And just so you know, you can get feminizing workouts, too, or anything else. All those routines people kept setting me up with were perfect for developing curves, core, and a strong and defined lower body. I didn't want that, but plenty of other people do. If that's you, go get it! You don't have to do the workout that everyone keeps setting up for you if it's not actually what you want.
Tracking my workouts also helps. Every time I bump up a weight, or increase my reps, I see it in the app and I know that I'm making something happen. I use StrengthLog, personally. It keeps track of what my weight and reps are, which day of the workout I'm on, and keeps a history of what I've done so I don't have to remember whether I was at 7.5lbs or 10lbs. I even put signals in my reps to tell my future self what to do. If I can do enough extra reps of something, then I might be ready to increase my weight. That feels great. StrengthLog also has an "other" option for gender in your profile, which can be a bit hard to find.
Anyway, (very) long story short, the article got me thinking about how going to the gym can feel like something that's not "for" queer people, trans people, etc. but in reality it can actually assist in reaching goals like seeing your true self in the mirror and feeling at home in your own body, if you can get the right resources to set you on the path that you want.

I'm always shaking my head at how insane the perceived natural difference in strength between sexes is. When it's really not that big of a deal if you aren't a full on bodybuilder or power lifter type. Even if you are, it's wild learning how many modern bodybuilders are juicing anyway and shouldn't be considered comparable to a normal human.
Just on my mind bc another youtuber pissed me off and I can't beat him up since he's anonymous and that would be bad of me so i just looked up strong women and strong men from back before steroids really picked up and damn. Men are a lot smaller without steroids huh. Also funny how he brought up sandow before being stupid about girl muscles when a strong woman beat him in a competition
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Particularly this one, katie sandwina. Girl muscle doesn't define as well as t muscle but it certainly exists in good amounts. Problem is everyone wants show muscle not practical muscle and that involves body fat % that are not healthy for anyone and especially women.
Idk i just wish i could personally crack every idiot gym boy over my knee and teach them a lesson about assumptions. Not even factoring in that straight line lifting power =/= practical power. It becomes practical power with learning skills to use it and doing those but i know too many gym bros who hop into practical activity thinking their gym fitness puts them above me (a lowly girl) then give themselves heat stroke doing easy shit

BIO
Amelia Shaw and her husband tried to have a child together for many years. Even with fertility treatment, they never succeeded. Desperation was .. definitely growing with every failed try, which caused for the couple to struggle quite a bit. Both wanted nothing more than to be a family, which made a woman's offer all the more ... tempting.
At the time, Frank didn't know who exactly he had willfully agreed to procreate with, but .. it was that chance or giving up his marriage. He chose marriage and Amelia did, too, despite knowing the child would not biologically be hers. It wouldn't matter, would it?
Jayden Shaw was born during a pitch black night at the Shaw estate, both Amelia and Frank working good jobs, they lived a comfortable life and their child would want for nothing. Or so they thought. But it's never quite as easy, is it?
It wasn't like Jayden was an unhappy child, he wasn't, but he also wasn't the content ray of sunshine his parents expected. Always a little on the darker side, but they never really worried. Not all children were the same and they knew that a lot could change as he grew up.
His powers manifested at the age of fourteen, which was the beginning of a very enlightening era in Jayden's life. He'd always felt somewhat out of place in a mundane human family and now... he knew why. He enjoyed his summers in camp, practicing his magic, reading up, experimenting. It was magical, literally.
Another passion hobby Jayden picked up early on was music. His parents wanted him to learn how to play the piano, but when he got old enough to fight for what he wanted, he picked up the guitar, too. Piano was not what he wanted, but a compromise was the best he got at the time. Youtube was the trend at the time, so - as one would, Jayden put up videos of him playing and covering his favorite songs regularly. So long as he kept up with school, his parents were on board.
When Jayden got found by a big label, he was more than eager to accept, but his parents .. refused, at first, but he always got what he wanted - one way or another. Again, a compromise was made. If we do this, you still need to finish school regardless of your success. He would've agreed to anything, even though he had no intention to keep up his end of the deal at the time.
And he took off, practically overnight.
He had the style, the voice, the attitude (at least on stage), the skills to be a one-man rockband (well, mostly) and that was about all that mattered. When school suffered regardless of his promise, his parents weren't happy at all, but by the time he turned sixteen, he got his agent to free him from their guardianship and managed to get Jayden his own apartment in Sydney, away from parents and potential negative old life influences.
Jayden... didn't exactly practice restraint. Scandals only fueled the image he created, so why bother? Sure, he never crossed a certain threshold, but other than that? Everything was free game. Relationships came and went, his outing in public was huge and of course used for marketing purposes, but he didn't mind too much. Even the newspapers tearing his recurring on-off relationship with a decently famous actor didn't create bad press for him. He was a rebel after all, a heartbreaker. Nobody had to know he hadn't been the one to end those relationships. And on top of that, the songs he wrote before and after possible break-ups sold better than any other songs ever could dream of. Their public cat and mouse game in-between clear denial of any relationship whatsoever kept the press on their toes at all times, again, no press was ever bad press.
Many thought that once he passed his twenties, he'd falter and drop, but he didn't. Global success and his very unique style kept him a top score for the time being. The only ...issue? The attacks were becoming more frequent. Staying in the same place for twenty years definitely didn't help hide him from the dangers he'd been told about in Camp. Jayden had been offered a place at camp many times before, but he'd never quite been ready to leave Australia behind.
But he could do music wherever he was and maybe being in the US would actually open new doors for him. So, just very recently - after the end of his current tour (an ode to the country he was born and shaped in), he packed up everything and moved his entire life to New York. Well, being closer to Camp Halfblood didn't really do him any good, so he ended up moving in.
Permanently?
Who could even tell?
But he had to admit being in a place where he could practice magic again... did sound quite alluring.
