Unpopular opinion? I don't know how unpopular it is but here we go
Arthur was better as a prince but not as a king
I think I see what you mean
#like when he was a prince he stood up to uther multiple times#when he thought his father was in the wrong#then he became king and he started immediately relying on agravaine#I think it actually made sense though#he was worried about destroying his father's legacy#and he needed someone to lean on#now the kingdom was his responsibility entirely – he didn't have to deal with that burden as a prince#he probably looked back on his “fits of passion” as juvenile and “unkingly” behaviour#like. I think it made sense for him to be more conservative as a king#to start questioning himself more even if his instincts were actually good#but idk if that's what you meant anon#asks#(still a few in my inbox; getting through them)

Halloween story /new series: The beginnings of Fredrick
Previous introductions of each character: Fredrick: Fredrick's Introduction, click here! Duncan: Duncan's introduction, click here! Oscar: Oscar's introduction, click here! Alex: Alex's introduction, click here!
Start of story: 5pm: Fredrick was starting his shift at the petrol station; out of all the nights, he hoped not to see anyone. Every year, this day reminds him of his legacy and the legacy that his father left him behind. He cleared up some of the shelves and rotated products until a loud BMW pulled out outside. He went back behind the till to see if the car driver needed to use the petrol pump. He could see some young lads in the car laughing away as they all got out. 5.05pm:
Duncan stepped outside his BMW, laughing at Oscar, who said something about his attitude towards people. You can see there's tension in the air as Oscar tells him to fuck off and walks towards the till. You could see that Oscar was actually quite pissed and upset at the same time as he and Alex walked into the petrol station with a happy Fredrick smiling at them. Fredrick: Evening, lads. It was a wonderful evening up here in the Moors. Do you guys need petrol? Alex: Yeah, mate, make sure our idiotic friend outside doesn't put any more than £30 into the tank, as he will take the piss.
Fredrick: No problem, sir. Are you guys up here for the nearby camping site? *Fredrick eyeing up both lads*
Alex: Erm, yeah, we are finally on our camping trip, which we have been planning for months. Oscar walks towards Alex, who's talking to Fredrick; you can see some attraction between them. *Alex walks towards the car, leaving the cash with Oscar at the till. Oscar: Can you please add these to the petrol bill? *looking shy
Fredrick: No problem, sir *biting his lip, which Oscar notices. That's £46.99 altogether?
Oscar: No problem, here's the cash! *smirking and blushing. Fredrick: Thank you, sir. Can I ask for your number? Oscar blushes deeply and nods as Fredrick hands his phone over and locks eyes. Duncan suddenly walks in and overhears Fredrick asking if Oscar has ever been with a guy... Duncan: WHAT IS THIS I'M HEARING A FUCKING FAGGOT CHATTING UP MY BEST MATE!! Oscar and Fredrick look at Duncan as he points at Fredrick and demands that he repeat what he just heard. Fredrick repeated what he said while he put his phone away. As he did, Duncan threw his fist at Fredrick, who fell backwards on his chair into the booze shelf, which caused some to fall and smash. Fredrick: WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT FOR!! ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE FUCKING HOMPHOBICS WHO ARE INSECURE ABOUT OTHERS BEING A FAG??? Duncan: YOU SAY WHAT YOU FUCKING PUSSY, COME ON FIGHT ME IF YOU ARE A REAL FUCKING MAN! Fredrick: OHHH, DON'T YOU WORRY? YOU ARE FUCKING BANNED FROM THIS STATION, AND DON'T WORRY. YOU WILL FUCKING LEARN A LESSON SOON. As Duncan left the store, Alex ran in to see what happened. He and Oscar spoke and they both went towards Fredrick? Oscar, Alex: Are you okay? Can we pay for the damages? Oscar offered Fredrick his packet of tissues, which when Fredrick took. He stroked Oscar's hand to reassure him that their earlier talk was still on. Duncan: HURRY THE FUCK OUT OF THAT FAGGORTY PLACE! Oscar once again apologised to Fredrick, and you can sense something beautiful flicking between them. Oscar left the store with Alex, whispering about how to deal with this situation later. They both got into Duncan's car. Oscar: Was that fucking needed on our trip? You might be lucky not to get arrested, Duncan! What the fuck is wrong with you! Duncan: I don't give a fucking toss, mate, faggots like him should be locked up and destroyed. Are you seriously sticking up for a cunt like him? Oscar: Maybe you can't just go and start fucking throwing punches at people when you feel like it. It's fucking wrong, but seriously, you need to calm the fuck down. Alex: Duncan Oscar is actually correct; you should keep those sorts of thoughts to yourself; it's not fucking right what you did there tonight
Duncan: Who gives a shit? Let's just forget about this!
As you can tell in the car, Oscar and Alex are fuming about the situation at the petrol station. Oscar was totally mortified at how Duncan just reacted to finding someone gay. This made him think about his options as he hoped Duncan would accept him for who he was. He decided to confront him. Oscar: What if I asked for that guy's number, and I am a gay prick? Duncan: Stop fucking messing around, bro; you aren't a fag now; I know you all these years!
Oscar: How do you know I'm fucking about Duncan? Maybe I am fucking gay, so what are you going to do about it! Duncan: Shut the fuck up, Oscar; you seriously going to get knocked out if you carry on with that shit talk! Alex nudges Oscar to indicate it's not worth continuing the conversation. He looked at Oscar and smiled. He had a hunch that Oscar was gay, considering the way he saw how Fredrick and Oscar were locking eyes. 6.20pm: The group arrives at the campsite. Alex goes outside to open the gate, and Duncan revs his car as he drives onto the site. A few minutes later, Duncan said he needed to take a shit and would be back in 30 mins. Alex and Oscar got the tents up and a campfire started. Alex: Oscar, if you are gay, I'm actually proud of you. Duncan was fucking wrong about how he treated that guy. Besides, anyone is lucky to have a sexy cunt like you! Oscar: Thanks, mate, I meant to tell Duncan, but the way he acted actually makes me think he's a waste of space. Can we keep it between us? You can tell Alex is jealous of Oscar because of his handsome looks. He wishes he had that sort of body and face sometimes. Alex: I always have your back, Os. Don't worry about Duncan; your secret is safe with me. But did you like that petrol guy?
Oscar: Yeah, he was really cute. He seems like a lovely person, and how lucky he is to have such amazing countryside. They both chatted away while cooking some steaks over the campfire while Duncan was still in the toilet taking a long shit, as he would say. 7pm: Duncan sat next to Alex and started making jokes about his strength and how he could do whatever he wanted. You could feel that Oscar wanted to punch his face, but Duncan would easily overpower him.
All three had a few beers and started chatting nonsense about their lives and how cool it was back in school. 11pm: They all agreed to get some sleep, but Alex saw something lurking in the trees, thinking nothing of it. 12pm: 1-2-3 Fredrick coming to get your body Fredrick knew precisely where the lads were. As he headed over to the campsite facility room, he wanted to teach that muscle cunt a lesson. Fredrick knew there would be no turning back if he went ahead now. He locked himself in the facility room that contained images of drawings he did about his father and somehow acquired a relic from him. Fredrick wanted Oscar and was about to get him 1-2-3 Fredrick is coming to get your body. 5-6-7
Fredrick lay down on the cold wooden flooring and entered a trance.
12.30pm: Oscar was a deep sleeper. He dreamed about Fredrick at the petrol station and wished things were different. You could sense how he wanted to be like Duncan and stop someone like him from hurting others. Fredrick stepped into the dream and became behind the till before the situation with Duncan. Fredrick: Imagine if you were built like that dick, Oscar! Oscar: Tell me about it, I would do anything to have a body like his. Fredrick: Tell me about it; you would be fucking amazing even though you are fucking sexy now! Oscar: You are fucking hot, Mr FREDRICK! *leans over and kisses Fredrick. If things can change, you are always my type of guy! You know, Alex is kinda cute also, so it's so hard to have friends that are hot straight. Fredrick: What would you do if you were to control Duncan Oscar? Oscar: I would go back to the petrol station and fucking destroy that ass of yours as an apology and let you admire the muscles! Fredrick: Just wait, Oscar, you are mine either way! As the dream faded away, Fredrick had a plan. He hadn't done it before, but he knew he could do it. He lured Oscar's sleeping soul into a small stone found in his father's realm. Fredrick then walked into Duncan's dream. Duncan was dreaming about a certain girl who was fucking him in the bedroom. After their long fuck, she went into the toilet, dripping from her pussy. Instead of the girl, Fredrick walked out and looked at Duncan directly. Duncan: WHAT THE FUCK, WHERE IS MY BITCH YOU FAG! Fredrick: Your girl, you dream of fucking a girl in your dream; what a fucking retard you are. Duncan: What the fuck is this, why are you even here? What the fuck is my mind playing at! Fucking get loss, you cunt.
Fredrick: Ohhhh Duncan, you are going to fucking suffer. The way you treated me, then Oscar came out, and you dismissed him. You are a true fucking loser that doesn't deserve to be in this world any longer.! He grabbed Duncan, which happens to be his soul, and the whole dream world changed into a burnt-out world of his father's dormant realm.
Duncan suddenly appeared trapped inside a giant stone, smashing it and trying to get out.
Duncan: WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING, THIS CAN'T BE FUCKING REAL SURELY!!! FUCKING GET OUT OF MY HEAD YOU CUNT!!!!
Fredrick: OOOH, THE FUCKING STRAIGHT HOMOPHOBIC FINALLY MET HIS MATCH; GUESS WHAT! YOU GOING TO FUCKING REALISE THAT YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG FUCKING FAG TONIGHT! Duncan was screaming for help, but nothing was nearby; there were just burnt-out lands and trees and absolutely nothing. Fredrick was laughing away as he disappeared. Just before he leaves Duncan's dream, he grabs the soul stone and opens it up and pulls Oscar onto the bed where Duncan was fucking his girl. Fredrick kissed Oscar on the head, knowing he would wake up feeling like a king the following day. Fredrick faded away and entered Alex's Dream. Alex was dreaming about being a stud like Oscar and Duncan. He was in the gym, flexing away and taking selfies while checking his muscles. He saw Fredrick walking into the changing rooms, sweating like he had a workout. Fredrick: Looking fucking big there, Alex!
Alex: Thanks, mate; why am I seeing you in my dream? Is this some sort of message that I've done something wrong? Fredrick: Don't worry, you will be confused either way! I just wanted to say thank you for the support you gave to Oscar tonight! In fact, you will feel the difference soon! Alex: Is this real? Is this some sort of haunting!!! *looks worried. Fredrick: When you realise the changes, please be supportive no matter what! Alex: WHattttt do you mean!!!!! Fredrick suddenly uses the soul stone to suck Alex into it. You could hear Alex screaming to the point he ran into the stone edge and knocked himself out. It saved Fredrick a lot of time as he left Alex's dream world and entered Oscars, which was still at the petrol station. He released the knocked-out Alex. Fredrick finally puts his plan to rest as he enters Alex's dream world and smacks himself in the mirror Alex is posing in. 6am: Alex woke up feeling fucking amazing from that dream; he couldn't help but to check his morning wood out. It was a good 18cm thick. He started stroking himself to edge himself before leaving the ten to stretch himself out. He went to take the piss and couldn't stop checking out his muscles like he did in the dream. While Alex was in the toilet taking a piss.... Duncan woke up feeling really froggy. He felt something was off and looked in shock at his thick hands and biceps. He took the sleeping bag off and saw he was muscular all over. He was touching himself all over as he swear he was in a dream. Duncan started jerking off, and the amount of cum that came out of his cock was intense. Duncan laughed away, thinking this was a wet dream, until he stepped outside. Oscar was just waking up feeling really odd. He felt strands of hair that weren't meant to be there. He panicked silently as he was checking his body out. He realised that his dream was absolute and now in the body of his friend Oscar. He couldn't resist checking his bulge out as he rubbed a quick one-off. He was laughing away that he was somehow Oscar now! He stepped outside to see Duncan and Alex looking at each other. They all looked at each other and started asking who was who. Alex got close to Duncan and stroked his hand like they did at the petrol station. Duncan suddenly realised what had happened but kept quiet, unsure who was in who. Oscar laughed and started joking about this being a freaky Friday but said they must accept it as it is. He knew that the guy in his dream kept to his word.
Alex: Should we head back home? *texting the local police about the location of the missing son of a mass murderer was living in the moors. Duncan and Oscar agreed as they packed their tents and entered Duncan's BMW. Duncan knew Alex wasn't Alex but Fredrick as he held his hand on the gear stick. Oscar noticed this and finally put the entire picture together; he chuckled, knowing this would be one hell of a ride. He is about to meet a girl who's been crushing on Oscar, and he can't wait to date her.
As they drove away.... The police and armed police came storming past their car towards the campsite. They surrounded the camp store room to find Fredrick with blood and other parts. Fredrick: I'M TELLING YOU I'M NOT THIS MURDEROUS KILLER, HE STOLE MY FUCKING BODY!
As Fredrick walked towards the police, they tasered him to the ground. Alex: That straight cunt finally got what he deserves. *smirking in the mirror, knowing he finally got the man of his dreams, a new body and start.
He kissed Duncan, knowing this was the start of a new life; he would never die and knew how to preserve his friendships. The trio will live on forever as friends as they show kindness to a guy who never had friends. 1-2-3 Fredrick coming to get your body 5-6-7 Fredrick is ALEX! End of Story! I hope you all enjoyed this story. It's longer, and I know it's not normal for me to write one like this, but this is a unique Halloween story for you all. I might do a follow-up story based on Duncan's and Alex's life a few months later. I can assure you that they know about the situation, and all agreed this was the greater good. They did visit Fredrick in prison just to taunt him and kiss in front of him. Let's say Fredrick went back, and they locked him in solidarity for the abuse. HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM YOUR FAVORITE STORY WRITER!

Yandere Bi Han with his very pregnant wife runs away from him seeing how he turned to and stay with her brothers in laws as she wants to protect the baby
How would each brothers perspective when reader did that?
this is some good food. tw: yandere, pregnancy, afab pronouns
General headcanons
Bi-Han met her just once but it was enough for him to be consumed by her memory
He doesn't understand why he thinks of her so much and that bothers him. He hates that she is all he thinks about. He can't stand it
She must be his. It is the only way for him to stop thinking of her all the time. Yes, if she were right here in front of him, he wouldn't long so desperately for her
Bi-Han gradually builds up a relationship her and it seems to go fairly well between them and he finally begins to feel at ease knowing she is by his side
The love between them is sweet but Bi-Han a slow acting poison and his corruption grows and grows until there is nothing left of him any longer
He craves to have a son with her, to continue his legacy and so he tries to conceive with her frequently but he is never cruel during it
It soon becomes an obsession of his to have his wife deliver him a son worthy of the Lin Kuei name and finally it seems his efforts pay off but his mind continues to warp and break
He becomes suffocating, all consuming when it comes to his wife and unborn child. Bi-Han never lets her leave or go anywhere
Bi-Han tells her she doesn't need to be anywhere else expect home and in bed as their child grows inside her
Things only worsen when he is brought away by Liu Kang and given that taste of freedom. It destroys him and the world begins to crash down
He tells her how the Lin Kuei will be better and stronger. That they should rule and lead the world instead of serving it. She is horrified, terrified. Where is the soft and gentle man she married?
All but gone that man is...replaced by someone savagely obsessed with power and greatness. She is helpless to change it, to change him back to the man she loved
Bi-Han tells her that his brothers are traitors, better off dead but not to worry because he will never let her leave. She will be with him forever and ever
She cries at night, thinking about all the horror Bi-Han has started to act upon. These suits of armor, weapons of horrible destruction...this isn't right
This isn't the peaceful life he promised her and their child. This is a hellish war and Bi-Han tell her how their son will be his legacy. How he will use his son as a tool for domination
She can't stand it. She begs for Bi-Han to stop this and to come back to her as the man she fell in love with. This impossible and Bi-Han lashes out
He strikes her, hard and firm. As she crashes to the floor with blood dripping down her lip, he scolds her for being so weak and for trying to betray him
Bi-Han tells her that she will learn to accept this life because if she doesn't then she will never see her child once they are born and that is when she can no longer stay with him
She flees, running far away from her crazed husband and how horribly she cries as she does this. Her hands cradle her now heavy stomach, Bi-Han's son is due soon but she must never let him know his father
What is she to do? She is alone and heavily pregnant with the heir to the Lin Kuei. Her heart hangs heavy and she can only think of two people
The two people she had come to know as family but was told were traitors. They were her hope. Not just for her but for her son. If they refused her, she could live with that but they must take in her son once he is born. Bi-Han must never find him
To say he is shocked would be a grave understatement. Kuai Liang thought he would never see her again. Not since what happened between him and Bi-Han
He knew of your pregnancy and was happy for you and Bi-Han. The last he knew, the two of you were happy together
Because of this Kuai Liang is suspicious and even a bit threatening when he sees her at the Shirai Ryu villa
He would draw is weapon and warn you that he will not give you mercy if you are here on Bi-Han's behalf
Kuai Liang watches as through labored breaths you cry and sob, falling to your knees unable to get out what you want to say
His resolve begins to weaken as he watches her fall apart and he is reminded of the fond memories between the two of them
She was his friend before she become a sister-in-law and Kuai Liang still cherishes that friendship but is unsure of how to act
Tomas convinces him to lower his weapons and hear you out and when he does, he is at a loss of words and full of despair
To hear what his brother has become, how he has treated her is enough to break his heart all over again and he knows he cannot refuse sheltering her
Kuai Liang treats her with kindness from that point on. He tells her that she may stay as long as needs and that her baby will be safe here
Though he knows Bi-Han will not sit idly and allow this. He knows this will bring great danger to his home and family but she is his family too and so he will house and protect her
Tomas had always been fond of his brother's wife and cared for her deeply
Truth be told, he was always a bit envious that Bi-Han was her husband but she seemed so happy that he kept quiet
Imagine his shock when he finds her kneeling on the ground and sobbing like he's never heard before
His eyes are instantly drawn to her stomach that she holds so tenderly and he rushes to her side
Tomas would kneel down next to her, unsure of what to do with his hands. He settles for lightly holding onto her shoulders before looking up to Kuai Liang
He tells him to put down that weapon and listen to her. Tomas asks him if he doesn't see how scared and frightened she is and finally Kuai Liang hears her out
When he hears all that has happened, Tomas is enraged. He has never felt such a wrath before and when she finishes her story, he takes her into a tight hug and tell her everything will be alright
For him it was never a question whether she could stay or not. The Shirai Ryu would be her new home and Tomas would protect both her and her unborn son
He doesn't care that it is Bi-Han's child she carries. The child is innocent and is clearly loved so dearly by its mother
Tomas is no fool. He knows Bi-Han will come looking for her and will raise every hell possible in order to obtain his wife but it doesn't matter to him. He will take care of her and her unborn child
It hurts to hear her try and be hopeful that Bi-Han will stop this madness and return back to how he used to be. Tomas knows that will never happen but he doesn't have the heart to tell her that. So he is left to letting her dream of such an unrealistic wish
There is no greater rage in all the realms than what Bi-Han burns with. How dare she leave. How dare she run away with his son
She belongs to him and so does their child. How could she leave him? How could she abandon him just like everybody else?
It can't be true. It just can't. His wife, his dearest love and mother to his child couldn't leave him. Something must have poisoned her mind
Surely that is it. There some twisted thoughts planted in her head that leads her away from him
Bi-Han thinks to himself that when he finds her will have to put her in a pretty little cage just like a songbird
Yes, if he kept her hidden away, only exposed to him then she would never think of leaving again. He must bring her back home and lock her away in a place known only to him
There is a seething wrath knowing his son has been taken from him. That was his prodigy, his grand design to lead the Lin Kuei. How dare his son be withheld from him
Great deal of punishment will be delt to the mother of son in order to teach her the importance of having a father and son know each other
There will be even more suffering brought upon those who keep his family away from him. How dare they keep that what is his from him
Bi-Han knows where his wife has fled to. How could he not? He is in the clutches of his wretched brothers
He vows to kill them, to snuff out the life from their souls while she watches and hears them scream
He will tear them apart as a bear does to a doe. He will leave nothing left of them expect mangled gore and echoing screams
Only then will he bring his lovely wife and son home. He will never let them leave again. If he must break her pretty legs so that she may not run then so be it
Bi-Han will teach her that a wife's place is that next to her husband. That is something that will never change. That is where she belongs and he will keep her there until she accepts her role as his wife and mother to his children
War will be waged in order to bring his wife back. Nothing and no one will stop him

Awaking
Now Playing: Salvatore~ Lana Del Rey
Narrative
Bruce stares up at house and sighs. Alfred pulls the bag out of the car as they walked into the house that used to hold laughter and brightness, now sheets cover all the furniture and it's dark and empty. Alfred leads Bruce up the main staircase. "I’ve prepared the master bedroom." Alfred said, holding Bruce’s bags. "My old room will be fine." Bruce said, looking down at the steps as he walked up them. "With all due respect, sir, your father is dead. Wayne Manor is your house." Alfred said, trying to lighten the tension.
Bruce grumbled irritated, "No, Alfred, this isn’t my house." Flicks his wrist, "It’s a mausoleum. A reminder of everything I lost. And, when I have my way I’ll pull the damn thing down brick by brick." Bruce said, with hate in his voice.
Alfred turns to Bruce, angry. "This house, Master Wayne, has sheltered six generations of the Wayne family, and stood patiently by while you’ve cavorted in and out of a dozen private schools and colleges. As have I." Bruce stares at Alfred. Eyes burning. Chastened. Alfred’s eyes softened, he then placed the bags on the steps and placed his hands on Bruce’s shoulders. "The Wayne family legacy is not so easily shrugged off." He said solemnly.
Bruce looked at Alfred with tears in his eyes and looked away from his gaze. "I’m sorry to have disappointed you." He muttered, continuing to walk up the steps. "Master Wayne... I was at your father’s side when you were born. And, at your side when he was laid to rest." Bruce stopped walking and nodded, "I know Alfred." He said, turning back around to look at him. "Your father was a great man. But, I have every confidence that you will exceed his greatness." Alfred said, picking the bags back up, walking past Bruce.
"Haven’t given up on me, yet? Bruce asked softly. Alfred turns to Bruce giving him a bright smile, "Never."
-Time Skip-
Bruce lays small kisses down her neck and shoulder wrapping his arms tightly around her waist, pulling her closer to his chest. He breathes in her scent as his heart becomes at peace and his mind at ease.
They lace their fingers together as they lay in her bed in the darkness. Basking in the comfortable silence, she hums with a content smile on her face, her body relaxed after hours of love making. Opening her eyes she looks out the large windows of her penthouse, the moon shining in minimum light.
She turns over on her back and looks into the eyes of her long term boyfriend Bruce wayne. Bruce could always tell when Vivica worried about him, she could always see right through him.
"Bubba, you don't have to go to that hearing." She whispered, cupping his jaw gently. He looked into her dark brown eyes, the eyes that held nothing but love for him. The eyes that saw every broken stage of him.
"Yes, I do. I want to see what the court has decided." He mumbled, she could see the hatred in his eyes, the bitterness in his voice. But, she wasn't mad at him for it. It was understandable. "Tell, you the truth. That bastard deserves more than jail time." She looked at him and frowned deeply. She understands his anger, but this anger that he was holding, was gonna destroy him. And, despite what people have been saying. She knows the real Bruce, his soul is still kind.
"Don't talk like that." She whispered. He scoffs at her and turns to look away but she grabs his cheeks and turns his gaze back to her. "My love don't let this man turn you into someone you're not. This hatefulness you have in you is not you. Don't let him turn you into a monster and lead you down a path of destruction." She whispered, her voice practically begging for him to listen to her.
She sighs and places her forehead against his as they stared at each other. "If you want to go then go, but I'm coming too. I love you and I'll support you going." He gave her a small smile and kissed her forehead. "You don't have to. I know you have that important meeting tomorrow." She shook her head and wrapped her arms around his neck, "it's fine. I can always reschedule."
He wraps her legs back around his waist and kissed her lips deeply and passionately. "I love you, so much." He whispered, his voice filled with gratitude. She smiled against his lips and whispered back she loved him too.
"How does one hate what they've become?"

ATF!Series Part Five: That Kind of Love - David Hale x Reader, Jax Teller x Reader
Tagging: @kmc1989@hatersaremymotivators@bennykk@kelpies-shed
ATF Series:
Part One: A Rabbit You Don't Want To Chase - Stahl makes an unwelcome return to David's life.
Part Two: Fucked - Stahl fucks up you entire life in pursuit of Jax Teller.
Part Three: Hell or High Water - David visits you in jail.
Part Four: Damage Control - David tries to contain the damage and makes a decision about the future.
Everyone thinks the relationship between you and Jax was just sex but the truth is it wasn’t. There are things that Jax told you throughout your time together that he has never told another person. His suspicions over his father’s death, his dismay at the direction the club is taking under Clay’s leadership, how trapped he feels by the legacy that’s been foisted upon him.
Those three months you’d spent together he had found himself falling in love. You were so different than the other people in his orbit, open, free spirited and you didn’t say a single thing you didn’t mean. That’s the reason he’d had to end it with you, because you were so unapologetically yourself it was detrimental.
When he hears you’re leaving for Santo Padre, he knows you won’t be coming back. The art scene over there is bustling, it’s the perfect place for a budding artist especially one of your calibre. He is surprised that Hale’s going with you. That man hasn’t taken so much as a vacation day since he graduated the academy and how he’s taking an eight week sabbatical so that he can that he can be with you over the summer.
It's just another way that Jax would have failed you because if he were in Hale’s shoes, he wouldn’t have been able to leave Charming, Clay would never have let him.
All of this shit you’ve been through recently, the arrest by Stahl, the vandalism charges, losing your placement in San Franisco, all of that’s on him. You’d had it in your power to put him back in prison, to take down the club and instead you’d set your life on fire. He’d like to think it was because of him but the truth is, he knows you were protecting Hale. If Clay thought you were a threat he would have come after you and Hale, he would have got caught up in the crossfire.
That man would do anything for you, he’d proved it when he used all of his political leverage to keep you out of jail. The promotion Hale had been seeking, it’s gone, he doesn’t have the juice for it anymore but he doesn’t seem to care. His priority is you, it has been since the very beginning.
When Stahl shows up at the club that night to wipe that in Jax’s face, he sees the writing on the wall. This bitch, she’s not going to stop just because the two of you have hightailed it to Santo Padre. She tells him as much as she sits in her car in the Teller Morrow forecourt, the engine still running. She’s going to follow you, try and use the Mayans connection to come at SAMCRO. Those guys may be running legit now but there’s still skeletons in their closet, ones that could lead back to Charming.
That’s the reason he gives Clay when he shoots her at point blank range in the head, he was protecting their business from a possible RICO case but the truth is, he was protecting you because Stahl. That cunt was never going to stop, not until she destroyed you, Hale and the club.
They make it look like it was the IRA. It makes sense to the AFT, she was tracking Galen, and now they’ve found her on the outskirts of town, carved up with the Butcher of Belfast’s signature. When Galen turns back up in Ireland, the investigation is torn from their hands and the ATF withdraw from Charming once again.
The night before you leave for Santo Padre Jax turns up outside your house. He wants to say goodbye, to tell you that you’re safe, that you don’t have to worry about repercussions from Stahl or the club. He barely has time to get off his bike before he sees Hale’s Jeep already pulling into the driveway. The other man doesn’t see him, he’s too busy collecting his bags out the back of his car.
You’re wearing one of Hale’s t-shirts and a pair of his boxers shorts when you open the door. It rankles Jax to see you in another man’s clothes, he remembers the mornings you’d slip from his sheets wearing a shirt of his that barely covered your ass. Hale smiles when he sees you, his fingers threading through your hair as the deputy kisses you with a tenderness he had never exhibited before he met you.
This is what love looks like, Jax understands, the kind of love that he can never give you.
He waits until you’ve gone inside before he starts his bike. He doesn’t want to infringe on your life any more than he already has. You deserve a man who puts you first and Jax has always known it could never be him.
Love David? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

"It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." – Marcus Aurelius
The grand estate of Senator Gracchus had been bustling with excitement in the days leading up to the birth of his first child. The news had spread quickly across Rome—the senator’s wife was going to bring a new life into the world, a child that would be celebrated as a symbol of his legacy. Yet, that celebration would never come.
Inside the birthing room, all was chaos.
“Doctor! Help her!” Senator Gracchus’ voice thundered, panic thick in his words. His normally composed demeanor had shattered, replaced by frantic energy as he paced beside his wife’s bed.
Antonia, his wife, had been in labor for hours. Her cries of pain echoed through the marble halls, but something was wrong. The doctors, gathered around the bed, exchanged nervous glances. They had hoped for a smooth delivery, but now they feared the worst.
“Push, madam! Push!” one of the doctors commanded, his hands steady but his voice strained. He tried to reassure her, but it was clear that time was running out.
Antonia, drenched in sweat, gripped the sides of the bed, her face contorted in agony. “I can’t… it hurts…” she gasped.
Senator Gracchus, normally unshaken, now loomed over her, his face tight with worry. His fists were clenched, his entire body vibrating with fear as he leaned in close to her ear.
“You must, Antonia. For the child. Please.”
The room held its breath as she pushed once more. There was a sickening pause.
The baby emerged into the world, lifeless.
The silence in the room was suffocating. No cry. No sound of life.
“Why isn’t she crying?” Gracchus shouted, his voice rising in terror. He turned to the doctors, his voice barely controlled. “Why isn’t she crying?!”
The lead doctor immediately moved toward the baby, his hands deftly performing chest compressions, trying desperately to coax the infant to breathe. “Come on, little one,” he muttered, his voice a soft prayer, “please.”
The tension in the room felt unbearable, every second stretching into eternity. Senator Gracchus could barely look at the scene before him. His wife, pale and trembling, lay motionless, blood staining the sheets beneath her. Her chest rose and fell weakly, but she wasn’t responding.
“Doctor, what’s happening to her?!” Gracchus demanded, his voice breaking. His heart was in his throat.
The doctor did not answer immediately, his hands working quickly. Then, finally, he looked up with grim realization. “Senator, there’s too much blood loss. Her heart is failing.”
“No!” Gracchus cried out, stepping closer to his wife’s side. “No, please, you can’t take her from me now! She can’t die. She just can’t!”
But Antonia’s blood continued to flow, a river that would not stop. The room became a blur of movement, the sounds of the doctor’s desperate instructions to the others blending with Gracchus’ frantic cries.
Then, just as hope seemed to slip away, a small sound broke through the tension—the tiniest of breaths from the newborn. The baby gasped for air, and then another, a soft cry.
The doctor stopped his compressions, his eyes wide in surprise. “She’s alive… the child is alive!” he said, relief flooding his voice.
Gracchus, shaking with emotion, looked down at the newborn in the doctor’s arms. She was so small, her fragile cries filling the room with life. He had forgotten to breathe for a moment, his body tense with the mix of relief and horror.
But his wife, Antonia, did not stir. Her hand, once warm, was now cold. Her lips were ashen. Gracchus turned to her again, his voice catching in his throat. “Antonia? Please… don’t leave me.”
It was too late.
The child was alive, but her mother… her mother was gone. The room fell into a stunned, sorrowful silence. Gracchus stood there, paralyzed by grief, as the newborn was gently placed into his arms.
The babe, still fragile, let out another tiny wail, but all Gracchus could do was stare down at her, his heart shattered in two. This child, this little girl, was his heir—but she was also a reminder of everything lost in that moment.
A mother was gone, and with her, a piece of his soul.
“She’s Cassandra,” Gracchus whispered, his voice hoarse with the weight of sorrow. “Cassandra Gracchus.”
As the hours passed, the estate that had been prepared for celebration now stood in mourning. A birth that should have been the beginning of something bright had instead marked a tragic end.
And as Gracchus looked down at his daughter’s innocent face, his heart hardened into something cold. He would raise this child, but she would never fill the emptiness his wife left behind. She would be a symbol of loss, a reminder of the cost of life.
In that moment, as he gazed into the eyes of the newborn, Gracchus swore that he would never allow her to forget the price she had paid for her existence.

Leoichi but make it Oblivious x Oblivious
It was a fight at first sight.
Yuichi Usagi and his friends were running away from Big Mama. They went up and out of the Hidden City, but when they saw the turtles, they thought they were Big Mama’s henchmen.
It reminded Usagi of Miyamoto Usagi’s adventures of fighting ninjas.
Usagi was first drawn to the one wielding swords.
“Ohohoho! Bunny wants to play!” was the first words Leo ever said to him as their swords clashed.
Usagi scowled. “I don’t play, but when I do,” his voice went deeper, “I always win,” just like how his ancestor would do. Probably.
The groans were far louder this time. It was because it wasn’t only Gen, Chizu, and Kitsune who were doing it.
“This isn’t one of your comics, Usagi!”
“Oh Galileo Galilei, there’s two of them!” said the purple one.
But Usagi wasn’t listening because there was a reluctant but growing delight in the turtle’s eyes (back when Usagi hadn’t known what he was carrying)
When the big plot was done, and they had to go home, the turtles and their group stayed in touch.
It was Yuichi Usagi who introduced Leo to the Usagi Yojimbo comics.
It was Leo who introduced Usagi to Jupiter Jim comics.
The Usagi Yojimbo comics had a good chapter on kite-making in ancient Japan, Leo wanted to cut some bamboo to make a kite for the heck of it.
They did so when they went to the Usagi farm. It somehow caught on fire.
Everything in New York, including the Hidden City, is so big that Usagi is always craning up his neck to talk to someone.
Leo has a habit of casually draping over his brothers, and Usagi became included in it when they became friends.
When they have to talk to a yokai, Usagi noticed that Leo would try to look comfortably confident by draping an arm around his shoulders with his face side-by-side with Yuichi’s. But also to force the yokai to look at both of them.
Yuichi, who had wanted to hug Gen, Kitsune and Chizu the moment they became friends, didn’t mind.
The yokai in question would raise a brow but not comment; when they’d notice that Usagi would slightly stand up on his toes and nuzzle from the turtle’s contact.
Everyone thought Leo and Usagi would start dating. But Usagi was sixteen and still chasing after his ancestor’s legacy. And Leo was sixteen and still trying to “make up” for losing the key and almost destroying the world.
But Leo and Usagi carved up a day to spend together -be it New York or Neo Edo- just to hang out and talk about comics or swords or how Leo had to always make his best guesses on turtle mutant biology based on human med books and vet books or that Yuichi’s favorite yokai to draw was the Dare Mo because they don’t have faces and faces are difficult to draw.
Or things that Leo couldn’t confide in his family without feeling like he was burdening them, or Usagi couldn’t say to his Aunt because he was supposed to be grown now or to his friends without worrying them.
It became their own thing.
Usagi knew that his ancestor had a rival since childhood (Kenichi) who married his first love (Mariko). Usagi was thankful that if Leo was his rival in swords, they at least were friends.
He knew it was stupid, but what if he and Leo both fell in love with the same girl just like Miyamoto and Kenichi? Usagi never bothered with the romance aspect of his ancestor’s comic biography. If there was anything the comics had taught him, love was only a hindrance to the way of the samurai.
While meeting his own “Mariko” sounded nice once he would choose to settle down, Usagi found himself thinking about his own “Kenichi” more.
Usagi found out Leo was gay. Leo shrugged and said he just didn’t feel like wanting to date yet. The fact that Leo’s only reference to romance was his father’s doomed affair didn’t help with wanting to commit that way outside his family.
Usagi wondered if they would still have one weekend to themselves if Leo began to date.
Usagi once saw Leo turning on the “Leo charm” to persuade someone to give them info. Usagi didn’t like it but kept it to himself.
Leo noticed it anyway. Because Usagi’s foot was thumping irritably.
Usagi mellowed a bit after Leo told him that he wasn’t being serious, the guy wasn’t even that cute, and that Usagi would always be his best friend.
Usagi was about to tease, “Do you like me?” like he did with Chizu after she hugged him in relief. For some reason, he found himself hesitating.
He never asked.
In a true Yuichi Usagi fashion, Usagi one night worried what if he also liked boys and he and Leo would fight over the same boy?!
Gen to Chizu and Kitsune, and Raph to his other brothers regarding Usagi and Leo:

I never know how to start a post but anyways, the other day I was reading a Star Wars comic that kind of adapted a scene from The Princess and The Scoundrel scene (TPATS spoilers btw).
I didn't liked the comic version because I felt like it missed a lot of important things of the original scene (I LOVE sw cómics, just didn't enjoyed that scene that much) but it just made me realize the fandom doesn't talk about that scene that much.
TPATS spoilers ⚠️
That scene where Leia finds Anakin/Vader's ashes, and has all this catartic moment remembering what he did to her, how he tortured her, how he made her watch as they destroyed and killed her planet, friends, family.
How she realized she didn't have to worry about him being her blood, because family is more than that, how she remembers her father, her mother and all the people she loves and loves her.
That's an amazing and powerful message, how she shoves “his call”, how she says one more time she doesn't need what runs in her blood, all that plus the scene where Leia tells Obi Wan she doesn't need to know more about the parents that created her because she has already two amazing parents, or when she tells Panaka her family is fine just like that that.
And I love all this thing about leaving it clear Leia was never fond of her birth parents, that she's not their legacy, she's Bail and Breha's legacy, that Leia is everything she is because of the people that loved and raised her not the people that concived her

Portrait of an Empire
Flufftober
Day 6: Mistaken Identity
Most beings, sentient or otherwise, Force-sensitive or not, flinched when Darth Sidious walked into a room. The same was true of Darth Vader. Even without laying eyes on them, a shiver would run over any being’s arm at their mere presence in the vicinity. That was the power of the dark side. That was the power of the Sith.
The whole galaxy knew to fear them.
Luke, when he caught a metaphorical glimpse of that dark, foreboding presence they carried with them like a shroud, ran after them as fast as possible, shouting for either his father or his grandfather.
He did not flinch at the darkness. He stared into it, wide-eyed with wonder, and waiting for it to extend its hand.
Despite a not-insignificant amount of self-loathing informing him that this was beneath him, and against all his teachings, Sheev always did.
Luke’s love of the dark’s embrace was problematic, sometimes. The Imperial Palace had formerly been the Jedi Temple. And the Jedi Temple had once been built on an old Sith shrine, presumably so the Jedi could study their ancient enemy without any busybody on Coruscant wondering what they were doing. Even the faint echoes of the Jedi’s light had been twisted into darkness by the tragedy Sheev had manufactured here—the shrine was steeped in the stuff.
Even Sheev felt it, on those visits he made when he wanted to revel in his victory. The weight of history bore down on him, reminding him of his responsibility. He was the Sith Master. His was Bane’s legacy, maintained for generations; his victory was the culmination of it all. And he must not let go.
It would have been a good place, in later years, to take Luke to teach him about the Sith. To indoctrinate him into the mysteries—into the long project, the legacy he was a part of—to impress upon him the significance of his power. It would have, if the shrine didn’t seem so intent on killing Luke.
The shrine was not sentient. But its hatred felt personal. And when Luke got too close, when he was looking for them, when he was bored—when he sensed the whiff of darkness and went running toward it looking for his family, Sheev or Vader had to get there first.
He threatens everything, voices hissed to Sheev as he ushered Luke away, one time. Do you not see it? You, with your vaunted foresight! Can you not detect the ruin he will bring to the Empire of the Sith? Strike him down before he destroys all we have built!
After securing Luke in a turbolift back to the surface with a handful of guards, Sheev had looked over his shoulder. The entrance to the shrine he’d constructed, an easy route from his own quarters, beckoned to him. The door was open; the way was cloaked in shadows.
“This is my empire,” he said. “My grandson will not destroy all I have built.”
Despite the horror he felt from them, it was their laughter that unnerved him more. It was a cackle—humourless and dissatisfied, more schadenfreude than actual mirth. The sound followed him all the way up to the surface.
You are blind, they mocked.
“Are you alright?” Luke asked him later, coming to him in his throne room. Sheev sitting in his throne and staring at a map of his empire, an unbecoming worry creasing his brow.
But he smoothed his brow when he saw Luke. Smiled at him. Beckoned, and Luke climbed into his lap to look at the Empire with him.
This is my empire, he thought. And Luke is my heir. I have nothing to fear from him.
It was true, in the end. Sheev had nothing to fear from Luke. He never would.
The Sith, however, were right to tremble.

firestar and leafpools father daughter relationship isnt talked about nearly enough on that note
I think about it so often! They make so many remarks about legacy but refuse to hold onto the FAMILY that a legacy should entail! Bad writers! Smack smack!
Leafpool and Firestar - Familial Relationship
In WCR, they have a much more fleshed out relationship.
First thing Fire notices about his newly born daughter when he and Sandstorm (and Smudge and Scourge) get back to Thunderclan is that she looks a hell of a lot like his sister, Princess! Firestar almost came up with a name in inspiration of her, but decided to stick with Leafstar, as while he could not inform his cats of Skyclan, he could at least hope that some of Leafstar's nobility and grace would invoke into his daughter.
Well, he got the noble part right, at first. Little Leafkit was clumsy and a bit uncoordinated. She would rather learn about herbs than practicing pouncing and bounding through the forest like Squirrelkit could.
Firestar has learned from his past attitude and encouraged his daughter to follow her heart. Though... Please talk to me or your mom or aunty Cinderpelt before you taste-test plants you find. Please.
Leafkit grew into Leafpaw, and finally developed that grace! Firestar was so proud of her, to the point of embarrassing her by accident. Yowling across camp "BE SAFE! BE GOOD! I LOVE YOU LEAFPAW!" When she would go for Medicine Cat meetings. She got over it quickly when she heard Cinderpelt speak about her own father, Cricketfang, and how she missed him.
"I LOVE YOU TOO DAD!"
Things begin to get... Difficult, once the destruction of White Hart Woods begins. In WCR, Leafpaw is the cat who gets the message to go on the Road Trip, and Squirrelpaw, ever at her side, joins too. (Along with Shrewpaw) The 2 sisters leave together under the cover of night alongside Crowpaw and Cranberrypaw of Windclan, Tawnypelt and Smokepaw of Shadowclan, and Feathertail and Stormfur of Riverclan.
It is, hands down, one of the worst times in Firestar's life. The forest is being destroyed and BOTH his kids are missing. All he can think is that the Clans are going to go through what Old Skyclan went through, and his daughters are missing.
When they came back, he was terrified and filled with sorrow. The destruction was in full-swing, and his children had come back speaking about a lake, leaving, going through a mountain... He believed them, but it was so strange, following his daughters into territory unknown... They were so grown-up.
While Squirrelpaw was reckless and a troublemaker, Leafpaw was a the good one, the quieter one, the one you didn't need to worry too much about. He didn't entirely like how Brambleclaw acted towards his daughter, but he never suspected that Leafpaw and Crowpaw's funny little friendship was anything more than that.
When she left again, with Crowfeather, he was... Sad. But not upset with her. The kind of sad you feel when you know your child has grown up enough to not need you the way they used to. It seemed like such a short while ago Leafkit was calling put for her daddy to sleep in the nursery with them tonight because the gentle rain outside was too scary...
But also sad because she'd never told him. He would have accepted it in a heartbeat, moreso than Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight.
He was overjoyed when she came back, but confused when Crowfeather was not with her. During Leafpool's Wish, he tries to give her some comfort. It's okay, honey, sometimes things don't work out.
She's so distracted with her pregnancy that she just nods along. She feels like she doesn't want to burden her father with anything more, what with Thunderclan still recovering from The Boar Attack, including Cinderpelt's death.
She never told him the truth about The Three. But Firestar wasn't stupid. The shape of Jaykit's ears and the stripes on his pelt, Lionkit's eye colour, and Hollykit's voice... He knew they were hers, and putting the 2 puzzle pieces together for their father was not hard. He's come a long way as an orange cat.
Like Shrewfeather though, he assumed it was out of a kindness. Maybe Squirrelflight couldn't have kits of her own, and sweet Leafpool had acted as a surrogate with Crowfeather to provide kits for them. He felt that he shouldn't pry.
Leafpool felt so guilty at not telling her mother and father about things, especially with how close they were to The Three. When the secret came out, she quietly walked into Firestar and Sandstorm's den afterwards and cried to them. They understood and weren't mad in the slightest.
When the secret came out, Firestar was hesitant to punish Leafpool, she'd been through enough... He didn't want to punish his own daughter but when whispers of blood clotting were beginning to start, he had to do something. He wasn't going Onestar's route, when Onestar denamed him into Crowpaw.
He still demotes her, but it's more a formality. She broke a vow about her Starclan connection but let's not prevent cats from getting medical treatment if they need it, okay? He has her go through some Hunter training with her aunt, Lightflower (Princess) but talks in Thunderclan have begun regarding an alternate permanent position for cats that aren't Medicine cats but cannot hunt. In the mean time, she takes up odd jobs all around Thunderclan and hangs around her parents.
Firestar dies protecting Leafpool and Squirrelflight, whom Tigerstar calls "abominations" and attacks during The Great Battle. Firestar dies, but the sisters escape, botb in shock and grief, only getting worse when Tjgerstar drags Firestar's seemingly lifeless body out into a clearing to show off. Leafpool will never forget her father's flaming, holy spirit rising out of his own limp body when Tigerstar least expects it, destroying him, before finally taking his rightful place in Starclan.
And the trial? Ooh, that'll be a doozy. I am going to leave this bit vague, but let's just say there's a reason Firestar still has his title of "Leader of Lionclan".
Moon Flight had better watch herself.

I keep having Thoughts about Dread’s world state post-game. I don’t know if I’ll ever write a proper fic for it—if I did, it’d be a rambly multiperspective thing and I’ve never written one of those before. But here are the thoughts I have now:
After defeating the Netherbrain, Dread and Minthara want to take control of the Absolute, everyone else doesn’t. Tense standoff until Isobel offers to True Resurrect Gortash in exchange for Dread destroying the brain. Dread agrees, Minthara could become Absolute on her own, but chooses not to.
As they’re falling, Dread starts losing her illithid powers. She absorbs the astral tadpole fully, keeping her partial illithidication. Wyll and Astarion, who partook in a worm or two, go back to normal. So does Minthara, who also chose partial ceremorphosis.
Immediately after Minthara is furious and lost—especially after seeing that Dread’s retained her psionic powers while she hasn’t. She leaves for Menzoberranzan. Dread promises her they’ll meet again, Minthara tells her if they do she’ll kill her.
For the next few months, an assassin stalks the streets on Menzoberranzan, killing drow who carved out pieces of Minthara’s estate. The spree ends with the death of the Baenre matriarch and the descrecation of the House’s shrine to Lolth. Minthara then leaves the city for good.
Dread stays in Baldur’s Gate to see Gortash resurrected and Wyll inducted as the new Grand Duke. Aware that the people she loves most have, at best, mixed feelings towards her at the moment, she leaves. It’s the first time in her life she’s ever actually alone.
Dread returns to the illithid colony under Moonrise Towers. She picks up on Gortash and the Myrkulites’ study of psionics, and ends up establishing a psionic monastic tradition since WOTC isn’t going to. Us is her assistant.
Gortash leverages his knowledge of the Baneite strongholds to try to keep Wyll from exposing him to the Gate. Wyll realizes Gortash would only be making that offer if the Baneites were a danger to Gortash. Wyll agrees, under the condition that Gortash bring him his father’s remains so he can try to resurrect him.
Gortash reminds Wyll that a resurrection has to be willing, and asks him if he really thinks his father will come if he calls for him. Look my brain’s just kind of been stuck on a Wylltash hate hookup for a while. We’re probably doing Wyllstarion endgame here. If I ever write a postgame thing I’m probably not even doing this at all. I just think they could really fuck each other up in some neat ways and I keep thinking it.
Gortash got a taste of torture in the Banehold and will do fucking anything to not go back.
Wyll realizes he’s better than his father ever was at politics and it devastates him.
This is a bit of group hc with some discord folksWyll ends up hiring Astarion as his personal aide (secretary) to help with some of the legal and bureaucratic issues he’s unfamiliar with. Astarion thrives in his Joan Holloway era.
Wyllstarion drama where Astarion idealizes Wyll and feels like if he’s honest about some of the skullduggery he does on his behalf, Wyll will reject him and he’ll have to go back to the Underdark. Wyll worries he can’t live up to the image Astarion has of him, especially as he has to make hard, morally gray decisions as a leader.
Wyll becomes a tempest cleric of Bahamut post-warlock, to try to carry on Ansur’s legacy. He’s probably able to give Astarion some level of sunlight protection so people just think the grand duke’s bf is being dramatic with his umbrella and big floppy hat.
Lae’zel goes off with Orpheus to free the gith. The egg hatches soon after. Lae’zel immediately hands the kid off to Orpheus. Orpheus leads a revolution wearing a baby bjorn.
Minthara appears at the illithid colony one day, knowing it’s where Dread was most likely to go. Minthara doesn’t kill her. They reconcile. Minthara doesn’t have paladin or illithid powers so she’s an Eldritch Knight fighter now. She’s just like really shredded. She’s so jacked guys.
Realistically Karlach left the party when Dread agreed to work with Gortash. Knowing she’d either die from her engine or become a mindflayer without the artifact’s protection, she solo’d the Iron Throne. Gortash thinks no one survived it, but she managed to free a handful of the prisoners. Mizora made sure Ulder wasn’t one of them.
Gale’s bloody hand is still in Dread’s inventory.
Jaheira tells Wyll that as a Harper, she has a responsibility to hold those in power accountable and this will limit her ability to be a true friend to him. Wyll intellectually understands, emotionally feels like he’s constantly being abandoned and doesn’t handle it with as much grace as he could have. They probably reconcile somewhere down along the line and have a more Nine-Fingers-y dynamic. Just without the fucking.
Oh also more classes: Lae’zel is a blade warlock (great old one) with Orpheus as her patron. Astarion is a College of Lore Bard because I like having two people with Healing Word in the party. I mean because it’s in character. Jaheira’s a multiclass Gloom Stalker and Spores Druid. I still need to nail down Shadowheart but I think she’s a Beastmaster—I keep thinking of her postgame as a cleric bc Asheera fics, but I think in a Dread-helmed party she’d turn from gods more. Karlach was an Oathbreaker, in the NADDPOD antipaladin sense—not actually a fallen paladin, just a hellish version of one. Minsc is a wildheart barbarian with the aspect of the hamster.

Not So Berry (Straud Descendants) Gen 9
Today's (9/2/2024) Episode: A Difference of Opinion
The guests had just begun trickling into Luigi and Noemi’s beachside wedding when the chefs finished preparing the fishy feast and refreshments.
Fresh from the bar, the groom-to-be smiled indulgently as his papa pulled him aside. He could spin into his formal wear after one last round of advice.
To his surprise, his father wasn’t congratulating him on his blushing bride but instead concerned with their little boy. “Skye is old enough now to learn about his special status.” Jack said “If you need help teaching him about The Watcher and legacy heirs just let me know. I’m happy to do my part”.
Luigi, unprepared, looked away. He had almost never disagreed with his papa, but he knew what he had to say on this topic wouldn’t go over well.
“Thanks for the offer” he finally began “but I’ve decided not to tell Skye about any of that. I think its better if he lives his life without those worries.”
Jack immediately blurted out “But son, you can’t keep who he really is from him! If this is about not wanting to give up the spotlight…”
“It’s not about the spotlight!” Luigi fired back “Yes, I can be a self absorbed plumhole, but that’s exactly why I won’t be telling my son about how “special” he is! I want him to have a chance at a normal life, without the idea that he’s somehow better than every other sim in the nation!”
Luigi had meant every word, but seeing the look on Jack’s face he immediately regretted his outburst. “I’m sorry papa” he said, hanging his head.
Jack reached out a hand in reassurance “Its OK, but if you have time, I think we need to talk. I promise not to try and pressure you into anything.”
Luigi nodded. He’d meant to broach this subject much more gently, but clearly, he had a lot of resentment built up around it that he hadn’t ever explored. He texted Noemi that he’d join her in a few minutes and waved his father’s shade over to the nearby banquet table.
He hoped he could help his father understand without driving a wedge between them.
Once they were seated Jack started things off “I never knew you struggled with the knowledge of your legacy heir status. You always seemed so proud of it. You never tired of hearing my stories about the Lacey’s.”
Luigi sighed. “I was a child who had very little contact with anyone outside our immediate family circle. You told me other sims here wouldn’t understand, but it wasn’t until I went to high school that I truly began to appreciate what that meant.”
“I had such a hard time fitting in, and it certainly didn’t help having this idea in my head that I was somehow better than everyone else. Even when I thought I was doing such a good job “hiding”; Beau saw right through me in University. I was so embarrassed, and that made me resent him more than I already did for being a better scuffle player then me. If I’m the heir, shouldn’t I be the best at anything I put my mind to!?”
“The first time I told Noemi the truth” he continued “it almost destroyed our relationship. I learned then that its one thing for you to feel Dada and I are the most special sims in the nation, but its something else entirely for me to think that about myself. That’s a problem, no matter if its true or not.”
“I don’t want Skye to have to deal with that, especially since as far as I can tell it won’t change anything. By your count I’m the ninth heir of this family but the first one to have been raised with the knowledge of it. It didn’t seem to make those other heirs any less special just because they didn’t know.”
By the end of Luigi’s passionate monologue Jack had deflated to a shadow of his already translucent self. He sat in silence for a while, clearly processing what his son had said and deciding what to say in return.
At last, Jack cleared his spectral throat “I hear you, and I won’t tell you how you raise your boy, but will you listen to why I chose to raise you the way I did? I promise, I’m not trying to change your mind. I just really want to know that you understand my decisions, now that you’re a father yourself.”
Luigi nodded for Jack to continue. In his experience his papa had always tried to do the right thing, and he was willing to listen and try to understand what had made him believe teaching Luigi this fact about his life, that had often only made it harder, had been the right thing to do.

No woman, no cry
Masterlist
Many of the stories I do have a specific song that is the base, the bone and the heart of the whole work.
Personally, I feel this song, and any version of the same, to be the goodbye message for a loved one made by the person that is going away, be it for any personal reason or because they are never coming back, trying to comfort the people they are leaving behind, in case of the original one made by Bob Marley a man that is saying goodbye to his little sister, as the "woman, little sister", meaning him, the man of the house, has to go away, "but while I'm gone, everything is going to be alright" and the younger sister now has to grown up, she has to be the new head of the family, be the woman that guides the family, while he reassures her that "everything is going to be alright" over and over, going straight to the "in this great future, you can't forget your past" in how the man wants his dear sister to still be herself and be her best version too, don't forget him, but don't linger in him, the sadness will pass, and she'll be okay.
Now, I'm not exactly a MCU fan, but the version of the trailer for Black Panther 2 and the movie itself destroyed my soul and heart in the most bizarre and beautiful way, and once again you all don't have to like what I do, and that's okay, The Tems version has it's own beauty, giving off vibes of a mother calling for his beloved partner and her children, at least that's how I always felt about that version, but that trailer with the two cents of KL and his "Do you hear me? Do you feel me? We're gonna be alright" in such desperate way.
Maybe that's why I liked this song for Roddy's story, I feel terrible for what I made him go through, maybe I'll always be, but given how things go in that universe and that roulette page on Google where I put it up for destiny's picking who's SO was going to die, well, I was flabbergasted when the first one resulted being Rodimus, I was like: "no me jodas, este man no tiene respiro ni en el fanfiction" but remembering how I wanted to be fair, I went with it, making one of the most sad stories I've done so far.
I feel for Roddy and his little family, he is the epitome of trophy husband if you ask me, and also the type of "he is your husband but also your kid", and given the circumstances, this song goes well with Roddy.
He gets married young, in cybertronian perspective at least, and he chooses someone everyone else asked him: "are you sure? Like, really sure?" Not because of thinking it was bad, but because they were worried for him, by that time the fact that sparks prolonged a human average lifetime for hundreds of years by different bonds (in this reality the Amica endurae and the conjunx endurae rites have this effect in organics), so Rodimus, while being a anxious ball in the inside, said proudly "of course I do!"
Rodimus, being married young, is also a young father, and in the meantime has everyone expecting him to take his title of Prime back and stop wandering in deep space, be a good creator and leader and settle down finally to do things right, he doesn't listen, and ends up going to a dangerous place that destroyed his life.
Rodimus, a young widow and single creator to a new spark that still needs his carrier, has little to no time to mourn before Cybertron is about to fall in another war and the integrity of his only family alive is in danger, full of sorrow and anger he does something he regrets even now, making his legacy as Prime as one deeply criticized and loved in equal parts, stripping Earth, the thirteenth's, Optimus' colony of all the advantages the former Prime gave to the humans, leaving them to take care for their own problems and their own fights, humanity suffers for it, of course, but while he didn't have any hatred to humanity before the incident he now has it as humans of the Lost Light were found in labs on Earth, obviously long deceased, their own people cutting them to pieces in order to know why they didn't have any negative reaction to energon or the natural radiation cybertronians have.
The fact that he left Earth, his conjunx's planet, to the mercy of other organic aliens after humanity tried to conquer and ended up being conquered, is something that haunts him but not something he is exactly judged for as the "they had it coming" comes from mechs and femmes, Rodimus ends up asking for help to the newly recovered Optimus Prime to help Earth once again, and he does, Earth is saved, but still not learning their lesson.
He made mistakes out of anger, out of his own misery, like he did before, but this time, I wanted him to have an ounce of love his beloved would have given him if only in memories, "everything is going to be alright" you would say, comforting him "while I'm gone, everything is going to be alright", as he tries to feel that little fragment of what could be your heart, you soul, something that he could relate to a spark he just swears is still deep in his own, "do you feel me?" the fragment of your soul would call, "do you hear me?" and his spark tries to spin in the same wave as yours shine just enough to find him, trying to answer back desperately, yes, yes I do, "we're gonna be alright" and all he can do is hug Sunset near just knowing his bitlet is soon gonna be a big mech in no time, he wants to cherish the feeling of his little helm above his spark chamber, repeating your words, data banks providing with the recording of your heartbeat, the way your breathing would rouse his armor, how your body is pressed against him, giving himself comfort to go on another day.

How'd the Uchiha family react to Itachi copping an Uzumaki bride/husband/spouse?
I really think their dad would be kinda pissed. Like his heir not only marrying OUTSIDE the clan when that's generally not accepted, but with an UZUMKAI, close relatives of the SENJU!
I think their momma would be kinda supportive Itachi has someone who he loves.
I think Sasuke could give a shit less.
Exactly as you describe it, but I have a different opinion for Sasuke, let's go into detail.
- Fugaku is a wise man, he knows the clan's past, its enemies, all the history of its founder and the disputes against his younger brother. The Uchiha grew up ready to take charge of the family, and he has no doubts about the hatred towards the Senju. Today, with that clan all but extinct, there is almost nothing left to worry about, or so he thought.
- Itachi announcing his election out of the family, being next in line and soon to take leadership of the clan is a terrible disgrace. There is a monumental fight in the household when he makes his decision known, a huge argument that ends with him fleeing and disappearing for days.
- The leader believes his son was conquered by a red-haired demon, outrageous. After the whole fiasco of the 9-tailed attack, the hatred imparted on the Uchiha clan for their "supposed conspiracy against the village", and all the repercussions of Minato and Kushina's death, Fugaku materialized his anger against that cursed legacy by planning a coup d'état.
- His father demands he resign as leader if this outrageous behavior is what he intends to pursue, and appoints Sasuke as his heir.
- Mikoto is the only one who knows his whereabouts, and visits him frequently at Shisui's house. The two talk for long hours, where his mother pleads with him to forgive and understand his father, trying to mend the family rift.
- She is not interested in her son becoming a leader, but in him being happy and not holding grudges against Fugaku, being able to understand his point of view and not allowing conflict to separate them.
- On her visits she always asks Itachi about his girlfriend, looking for details of how he met her, what her name is, and what she does with her life. Mikoto doesn't have a single problem with his choice as long as he is happy, prioritizing only her son's well-being above all else.
- Sasuke, in fact, would care. The avenging Uchiha we see throughout Naruto is one built on the resentment he has because his brother destroyed his family, in this case, I suppose that wouldn't have happened, so he wouldn't have the same apathy for life with which I always write him.
- The younger Uchiha, manages a mixture of fascination and terror. It disgusts him how his older brother ruined his reputation in such a terrible way, shamelessly breaking the boundaries and rules of the clan, and he doesn't understand how he got to that point.
- Itachi was always his role model, his idol, and to see him walk such crooked paths, far from everything his father always tried to teach them both, is terrible.
- On the other hand, he's happy because all of Fugaku's attention rains down on him, without his older brother interrupting in the middle. Sasuke wouldn't be able to define a more important authority figure than his father, and to have all of his undivided focus because he plans to prepare him as the next leader is amazing.
- His heart is torn between the respect he has for Fugaku and the love he carries for Itachi, with no clear decision and looking for emotional support in his mother.

On the darker nights, you get me through

Companion piece to Wild Bloom & A Boy from Bozeman
It’s been twenty years since you left Bozeman and Lee still carries that worry doll. It’s a saving grace during the nights he’s plagued with bad dreams about the shit he’s done and the shit he’s going to do in the name of the ranch.
When he wakes up, his heart pounding, his breath catching, he clutches that worry doll to his chest and he thinks of you, of that last summer you spent together, so young, so recklessly in love.
He starts to calm as he recalls the glow of the campfire across your skin, his fingertips guiding down the straps of your white sundress before he took you to bed for the first time. He’d been a late bloomer back then compared to the other guys in his class but he’d been happy to wait for you, glad that he did because you were perfect that night, and all the others that followed after.
“I’m worried about the man I’m becoming.” He tells the doll, his lips brushing over the slender threads. “About the man this place has turned me into.”
As always the doll remains silent as he tucks it underneath his pillow and turns onto his side, imagining you laying in the space alongside him. He runs his palm over the sheets and he thinks about what could have been, a wedding at the small church in town, you working on your research papers at the desk he would have built you.
It's pathetic he knows, that he still holds a torch after all this time, that every single woman he’s been with since hasn’t come anywhere close to his memory of you.
“You need to take a wife.” His father had told him last week. “Carry on the ranch.”
Lee had had to walk away because that’s the one thing he refuses to budge on. He won’t bring a child into this legacy, he won’t let the burden of it destroy their dreams, the same way it destroyed his.
He’s out in his workshop around the back of the farmhouse working on a chess piece for the wooden set he’s creating for Jamie’s birthday when he hears a car pulling up beside his truck. He glances up at the clock on the wall and realises he’s lost track of time again. He always does when he gets involved in a project. He’s supposed to be meeting up with a conservationist regarding the wild bloom in the field not far from here.
He’s positive he’s spotted some streambank wild hollyhock up there, a flower so rare that it’s endangered throughout the US. Seed germination usually only starts after a wild fire and there’d been one a few years ago that had gutted the pasture. Since then a plethora of flowers had sprung up through the destruction and Lee spends most of his very little free time, documenting them in the journal he keeps tucked inside his left interior pocket.
He almost does a doubletake when he sees the car parked alongside his truck. It’s an old Volkswagen beetle similar to the one you’d driven away in back then. His heart skips a beat as his gaze strays down to the bumper and sure enough there’s the ding from where he backed it into a fence post, trying to manoeuvre it into your daddy’s garage.
The car door opens then and you step out into the sunshine, hair falling across your features, the same way it did back then. He longs to reach out and touch it, to tuck it back behind your ear but instead he jams his hands into the pockets of his worn Levi’s.
“Anna-May…” He says and you tilt your head up to look at him.
Your eyes meet and in that moment twenty years just fall away and you’re both eighteen again, standing beside an old Volkswagen Beetle that’s seen much better days.
“Lee.” You say, a smile lighting up your features and it feels like the moon, the stars and the sun have all colluded to bring the two of you right here to this very point in time. “It’s great to see you.”

OH right, Blue Beetle!
I really enjoyed it! I've been a fan of Jaime Reyes for a long time and I honestly never believed he'd get his own movie. And?? Such a good one???
I worried going into it that he looked too cool in the trailers. Is that weird to say? I loved dorky baby teenager Jaime when I was a kid. He felt like One Of Us, y'know? And then I watched the trailers and I was like "hmmmmmm."
But even though he's a bit older in this movie and has his shit together a little more, he's still very much Jaime Reyes at heart. 💙 Love that weird little dork of a man that always means so well, even if he doesn't always know what to do. And I found myself rooting for him so hard!
The movie was overall just really charming and fun and occasionally emotionally devastating. A good mixture of action, character relationships, humor, and politics, imo. The characters were so endearing, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how things develop going forward.
A few more thoughts (with spoilers) beneath the cut.
I was actually a little surprised by how sad parts of the movie were, but it felt right, too. The heart of the movie really was the simultaneous power of familial love and horror of family separation. Family separation really seemed to affect all the characters in their own ways, whether that was due to corporate greed, politics, war, racism, or just good-old-fashioned horrific US policy.
Like... You come to realize that it really permeated every part of the movie. Alberto's devotion to his family, the years he put into bringing them all to Palmera City. The very real fear that going to the cops would invite an unfair immigration investigation into their household. Jenny losing her parents at such a young age, and the sharp divide between her and her aunt. Jaime's family loss as well. Carapax's truly fucked-up backstory. Hell, even divisions being sown between Victoria Kord and her brother when her father gave the company to Ted instead of the person who'd built it.
(Don't get me wrong, Victoria Kord was truly evil, child soldiers and all. I was not rooting for her. But lbr, that doesn't seem to be why her equally war-mongering father cut her out of the company. You have to wonder if she would have done quite so much damage in the end if she hadn't felt such a virulent need to prove herself and destroy her brother's pacifistic legacy. But! Who knows? She might have been even worse if she'd had all that power from the beginning.)
And, y'know, all of the characters deal with the horror of family separation in different ways. Carapax became weaponized by an imperialistic power that didn't give one shit about him. Victoria became embittered, violent, and downright brutal. And Jaime could have gone the same way, so furious over the loss of his own family that he gave into wanton destruction as well -- but Khaji Da didn't let him. (WAILING.) Instead, he managed to take the same route as Jenny: transmuting his rage into a need for justice, into a passion for making the world better so no one else would lose their loved ones the same way.
Y'all, I was in there crying at a superhero movie!!! IT'S FINE, I'm FINE.
I heard that the creator of the movie hadn't actually initially intended for Alberto to die (which I understand, tbh) but I did think it was really beautiful the way it was incorporated into the movie. Bringing Mexican culture to the foreground yet again in its discussions about and attitudes toward death. God, those candles were beautiful. ;;
I mean -- as someone who literally dropped all of my DC subs the day they "fixed" Oracle and never gave DC another cent until this movie came out, I really am passionate about the need for diverse heroes. Part of the reason I felt like I was getting emotional in that theater was because I remembered how much Oracle meant to me as a young disabled teen who couldn't make sense of her trauma or her disability or her inherent power. I remember how much losing the only positive role model I had devastated me.
And like... I want kids with the same background as Jaime to see themselves in him. I want them to be able to feel the way I felt back then. Honestly, that was a lot of why I finally broke my boycott. I think characters like Jaime, while brilliant in their own right, are also important, and I want to support them.
So when I realized how raucously, joyously, passionately this movie was gonna depict Latino culture and its own diversity within the US, I was thrilled! And I cried lmao.
(What can I say, I've been kind of weepy lately lmao.)
But yeah, honestly I cheered in the theater when Khaji Da switched to Spanish. I was like YEAH GIRL.
Other times I was actively fangirling in the theater:
Nana Reyes gunning down imperialists
Ted Kord reveal(s)!!!
"Batman's a fascist. Blue Beetle knew how to have fun." :')
Khaji Da stopping Jaime from killing that man
Milagro and Rudy having no such compunctions
Dr. "Sanchez" standing up for himself and his name reveal (which is a very fun easter egg for WWDITS fans, lmao. I wasn't expecting it and I had to stifle a little shout of laughter.)
Honestly, as a former DC fan I really loved how much thought and care was put into incorporating the really messy canonical history of the Scarab. Obviously they deviated from existing canon, but in ways that I thought were really fun and interesting. I'm excited to see what happens with the Kords going forward, y'know? I hope that Jenny, too, isn't cut out of her own family legacy. I'd never want to separate Khaji Da and Jaime, obviously, but there has to be something for that woman to do to follow in her father's (secret) footsteps.
I realize that this review is kind of all over the place (like my mind the past few days), but I really, really enjoyed it. I was feeling pretty out of sorts the day I saw it and it really raised my spirits a lot. It turns out that after all these years, I still really love Jaime Reyes! And I love his family! And I love Jenny, too!
even dr. de la cruz a little bit, even if he sure did take his sweet time to find a backbone
The movie was just super fun (as well as unexpectedly thought-provoking) and I really enjoyed it!
#blue beetle#I'll probably go see it again before it leaves theaters lmao#what a good time tbh#I read Jaime's monthly as it was coming out (I'm old lmao) and I never thought we'd get here!#let's gooo
