If you have any ideas rattling around… give me your head cannons for how the batfam kids deal with realizing Bruce has been tortured

My guess would be that Bruce has largely been able to shield his children from the worst of his experiences and protected them from experiencing anything too bad (at least while they were still in his care), but pre-Robin Bruce was way more reckless with his life and probably got into bad situations (or even with the league??)

I feel like the batkids may not realize or fully comprehend what Bruce had gone through; do they find out because they were being arrogant and Bruce had to snap to tell them to stop before they got hurt? Does it happen one on one, and they pass it along to each other in private whispers, or does it come out in a big family setting? How does this change their perception of Bruce as a father/teacher?

I think it's something he keeps from them (and from Alfred, as much as he can -- that man doesn't miss much) and only shares when it's relevant to their case or training. It probably happened while he was training/traveling the world. It seems like the kind of thing the League would think makes someone stronger. And I think a younger, traumatized Bruce wanted to be that way -- someone resistant to the pain, able to step above it and hold steady.

But when it comes to his kids, I'm sure it's different. Letting some League trainer slice into him while he holds perfectly still is one thing. Asking Dick to do that? Seeing a child, someone he's responsible for, want to join him in that world is sickening. Not because it's not relevant -- he wants his kids trained against torture, it's not like it's not going to happen -- but because that means he has to do it. Him or Alfred. Hurting their own children to make them stronger.

I think it's also interesting because while Batman absolutely uses pain to encourage targets to talk, it's not prolonged gratuitously. It's not dragged out over several days, until the physical becomes psychological and vice versa. Batman will snap your Achilles tendon, yell talk, and then leave when he gets what he wants. It's different, despite both options being very painful. He uses fear as a tool, yes, but not the fear that this pain will never end. Not the kind of pain that makes men desperate for death, and uncertain if they will ever receive it.

I don't know how it's revealed to the batkids, but I have an image in my head of Bruce going absolutely white and then leaving the room without a word, and Alfred having to fill the gaps in for the kids. Maybe he was tortured in the League, maybe he tortured people in the League, maybe it's both. Either way, Bruce does not want to remember it.

Why do people think Arkham! Jason is whiny compared to the other Jasons? To copy and paste what I wrote somewhere else to prove my boy is, in fact, not whiny and just extremely broken and angry, understandably.

He went after the Joker alone after he and Harley killed kindergartners and sewed their body parts together, and the Joker caught him. Jason spent over a year in the abandoned wing in Arkham Asylum, the Joker, with Harley helping, tortured him physically, branding him with the letter J on his cheek, psychologically, mentally breaking him down, with other inmates beating him, including Batman’s rouge’s gallery. Pretty much in every way imaginable, Jason was put through it.

He was lead to believe Batman had abandoned and replaced him, and then the Joker filmed the broken boy being ��killed” by him and sent it to Batman, breaking him and causing him to stop looking for Jason out of grief. The Joker continued to torture Jason afterwards until the beginning of Arkham Asylum.

So yeah, I think he deserves a break. He also does redeem himself and become Red Hood, and then he acts more like himself, happier and not crushed by all the pain and hate. (I love that man.)

i will accept and forgive and understand anything neytiri throws at spider because it comes from a place of trauma and considering what humans have done to her people is understandable. jake sully however, is human, i don’t care how blue he is. he referring to spider as a pet will not be forgotten. i will be watching him with a microscope next movie and i’ll choose violence. jake is literally the only character that i expect to treat spider better i don’t care.

Jason is confused, and so are the other bats, but soon the rumours reach their ears: you can't go after the Red Hood, because no matter what you do, once you've targeted him it's over, like a dog with a bone, he'll get you eventually- no matter how you shoot or how many explosives you use. It doesn't matter that the Red Hood doesn't kill, because the Red Hood doesn't die.

There was a demon coming by the hotel, not to see if they were interested in the cause but to use up his friend's precious time.

Even now the beastly thing walked up to the check in counter and started up a conversation with you.

He watched from the bar.

"Hey! I see its dead as ever in here.", the dragon demon grinned as they leaned on the counter.

"Not true~", you had replied. "I checked in four new guests!"

"Oh yeah? How many sinners walked in?", the scaled creature leaned close.

Far too close for his liking.

He didn't like this demon.

Everything about them set something off. Their manners, their way of speaking, the way they move-

"Oh come on, I don't bite sugar cake~", the beast took your hand and kissed their way up to your elbow.

He quickly shadow traveled and snatched the wrist of the dragon.

"I believe they said no."

The beast growled with a sneer before looking at him, freezing up once realizing who had their wrist.

"I was just joking man. Haha..", the dragon looked between him and you. "I understand! I'll back away. The slut is yours."

"Excuse me!?", you said angrily.

His antlers grew, the low static that hummed now raising up in volume.

He held the demon's snout shut as they screamed and cried over their broken wrist.

"Now, there is a no killing rule in the hotel.", he said and then grinned menacingly. "But that doesn't apply outside."

His smile widened after seeing the panic in their eyes.

"Dear.", he turned to face you. "Has this guest overstayed their welcome?"

You stared at the beast with such a terrifyingly hateful glare.

"Yes they have.", you replied, crossing your arms. "I'd like to keep a souvenir, for memories."

And then you gave him that lovely smile.

"Alastor, do you think you could get me a dragon eye or two? I hear they make nice details to things."

"I'll make sure to get them.", he released the demon, only for his tendrils to take hold of them. "I won't be long.", he reassured, lifting up your hand to kiss the back of it.

He saw you blush before he 'escorted' the demon outside.

After finishing up (and calling Niffty to clean up), he returned with two freshly picked dragon eyes.

You thanked him with an odd little gleam in your eyes. No doubt your mind jumping idea to idea of what you could create with them.

Now with the pest gone, he would have your attention again.

Just like he wanted

"Thank you Alastor. I'll be able to make something interesting with these."

"I can't wait to see what you make this time."

Perhaps he'll ask you that question sooner than later.

Of course he has to prepare everything to properly court you.
