Weird SH3 dream I had + a sketch page to illustrate some bit of it

OK SO I don't even know how to start it because it's always hard to tell when dream stories start 😭😭 but I can only remember of a BIG and WIDE library scenery. I felt very surprised because something told me it was a whole new "story expansion" that went in the SH3 HD collection (how specific of my brain, never played that version if u wanna know) almost like a discovered secret (so discovered that I remember coming to Twitter shouting like "WDYM THERE WAS A GODDAMN STORY EXPANSION IN AN HD COLLECTION HOW DIDN'T I KNOW THAT WTF". All of this in the dream, with the whole emotion LOL).

The funniest and weirdest point of the story in the game is the characters, more specifically Heather, Claudia n Vincent, the three fuckers were all in the same room aka the big library, but something about their interactions was very… different.

More specifically towards Vincent, dude was ABSOLUTELY STRESSED, he wasn't being the same slightly passive-aggressive he was with Claudia in the real game, or doing his common gaslight with his stable and concentrated voice tone, nah dude, he was COMPLETELY MAD, idk why, idk who hurt him but bro kgkgkfjgkgj he had no patience while taking to both Heather and Claudia, y'know that scene where Heather is about to get out of the same room as Vincent in their first meet and he shouts "WAIT, I'M NOT FINISHED TALKING"? It sounded pretty arrogant and aggressive, right? Now imagine it multiplied by 10 and we have Vincent having the worst day of his life, don't talk to him or else you die.

As a result, both Heather n Claudia was becoming as stressed as he was, mainly Heather in this case, dude was getting so arrogant that she had enough of that shit, she literally THREW HIM ON THE FLOOR, LITERALLY PICKING HIM ON THE ARMS AND SHIRT COLLAR N THROWING HIM ON THE FLOOR LIKE A… IDK LIKE A JUDO WRESTLER??? ISTG IT LOOKED SO FUNNY YET SO UNCANNY, IMAGINE HEATHER BEATING THE SHIT OUT OF HIM, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED (y'know that eerie feeling when you see irl ppl fighting and you're like "omg why are they doing this pls STOP", that's how I felt on the dream seeing such scenery, but as we speak now I can't help but LAUGH LOUD like kdjfksjsek I LOVE REMEMBERING THIS, I LOVE 2 SEE MY MAN GETTING BULLIED IDK WHY).

There was also that confusing information that was inserted into my brain that the story was actually a SEQUEL of the events like??? Vincent received the backstab but didn't rlly die??? Neither Claudia??? But they were in there… As if nothing happened (maybe that was the reason Vincent was so distressed, he couldn't believe such a thing happened LOL). After Vinny got completely ROASTED by Heather, he was there on the floor trying to get up, he was as mad as before but he couldn't do a thing, only look at Heather with his eyebrows working the RAGE that was inside of him.

Jeez, I loved that dream, hope I can have more of this in my future nights 🤣

seeing the extra bit of the fight in 2x7, under a clear attempt to manipulate a (mostly white) audience against louis and claudia ("aggressive, dangerous" black characters), did not rly change anything about the fight. all the ppl saying "doesn't louis also choke claudia" to call him a hypocrite are fcking weird as hell. that scene also happened *after* this fight anyway.

examine why ur ready to blame the black character the most. the power dynamics between lestat and louis were still not the same. louis did not know that but lestat did. ur asking why did louis threaten to kill lestat for something he does to claudia later when u should be examining why lestat dropped louis in response to something he knew wasn't any kind of real threat. it was an emotional pain he felt at louis "choosing" claudia over him but we all know louis was never going to physically do shit to lestat. look at what lestat did to louis tho.

u also need to get comfortable with the fact that ppl do these things out of a warped idea of "luv" and not wanting to lose someone. it's not something born from hate and a desire to hurt someone cuz u *don't* care. it's not something fake the writers put in bcuz they don't understand the character of lestat. they understand him rly well tbh. read the books again maybe. he did it bcuz he could, bcuz he's the white partner, bcuz he's more powerful as a vampire as well, but it was also coming from his own insecurities that he was never going to be *enough* for anyone else. it's *all* of those things. look at the ways armand is also mirroring a lot of this but doing it as a brown man, someone who can't so easily be loud and abrasive like lestat. someone who is used to being groomed and framing every relationship like that since.

this is not about picking sides or wiping everything away "well they're all monsters lol" shit. it's about noticing what is right in front of u. *clearly* right in front of u. look at the power imbalance louis is facing across all of his relationships. a lot of confusion I'm seeing about him would make sense if u put that one piece into place and stop looking for reasons he's just stupid or the "real" abuser or whatever the fuck. he's said and done hurtful shit too but the fandom *never* wanting to say he's a victim and giving all those tears to lestat instead is rly a fucking choice. this was not happening here before the race swap btw.

a kick to your foot had you jolted awake from your little nap, headphones halfway through playing [your fav song] and a pen stuffed between your fingers.

putting the pen back to paper, a second kick had you pulling your headphones off, brows starting to furrow.

the third, and final kick, had you shooting up from your seat, peering over the desk wall at the white haired man in front of you. the screech from your chair causing some to look your way.

“can you stop that?” you hissed, loud enough for only him to hear.

“stop what?” he replied, a dopey grin plastered to his face, clearly amused at your looming form above him.

“i was trying to study!”

“yeah right, i could hear you snoring from a mile away,” he snickered.

“fuck you, satoru,” you seethed under your breath.

“sorry sweetheart, but you weren’t responding to my texts,” he waved around his phone, the screen open to your text messages.

you peered back down to your phone and saw a flood of message notifications, all from one person.

he pulls you closer by your waist, “please, we’ve been here for hours already. you know i need my daily sugar fix,” he pouted.

you narrow your eyes at him, eyeing his features. from his bright blue eyes to his criminally glossy lips.

“i promise i’ll study twice as hard tomorrow so, please?”

you sigh, “fine, i give up.”

PART 13 (studying for finals and trying to figure out my work schedule for my Christmas break is a bitch to do bro 😭😭😭)

Anyways when reader and Mizu find Taigen in that dungeon that had them gollums looking mfs in. Of course reader and Mizu go to help him and get him out of there after finishing the gollum bitches and the fuck that looks like a sumo wrestler, & reader just takes more trinkets from the ground she could add to her gun and weapons (she's like crow istfg (me too)).

And when the place exploded and the three get thrown to the side of the castle which leaves the three holding on for dear life, Mizu just pulling through with Taigen on her back and reader using her Kunai to hold on the side of the building. And when they reach fowler and the other ppl (I forgor the others, all I remember is the twinky sounding guy that hangs around Fowler.) Reader and Mizu go on full force on Fowler. Reader using rope to pull Fowler over like Scorpion and throwing him over to Mizu and beat the shit out of the Irish man.

While reader and Mizu fuck up Fowler, Fowler manhandles reader and reader literally gets shot in the leg and gets thrown across the room. Mizu is ofc very angry and tries to kill Fowler and gets absolutely wrecked by a fucking gun. So last ditch effort, reader manages to shoot Fowler's shoulder with her pistol and Mizu gets Taigen and Reader and flees.

Ringo finds all three of them absolutely dying and brings them sword father 😸😸😸 and Mizu very awkwardly introduces Reader as her wife to sword father and he's just like "👴🏼 kay."

mizu grasped you gently, making sure you didn’t entirely flip out.

your eyes landed on taigen, battered and bloodied, probably on the brink of death if you could guess.

“holy shit,” you whispered, a hand coming up to cover your mouth.

you could see a man, large as a boulder, you were sure—stood across the room. mizu approached him, wearily, but she still approached him.

your heart pounded in your chest. he could easily crush mizu, if so desired.

yet you trusted her.

you turned your attention to taigen. you never liked taigen, no, you would probably kill the man given the chance.

but you weren’t just going to let him die now, it felt like a duty deep in your chest to heal. 

along the way you had picked up small trinkets and things you would keep for later.

your main goal was to heal taigen enough so he wouldn’t die, a little pain wouldn’t hurt him. 

when you were done, it seemed mizu was, too—she was heaving, covered in blood and black and blue bruises. 

“come grab him,” you rose to your feet, standing up straight as you could. “we need to get out of here and —-“

your voice is cut off with a loud boom sound, followed by smaller and smaller booms. 

the place was going down, with you three in it. 

a shrill scream left your lips, grasping onto a kunai quickly and plunging it into the side of the building, right beside a framed window.

mizu was grasping onto your hand, still breathing heavy with taigen clasping onto her.

you manage to pull yourself into the window, your heart pounding in your chest as mizu and taigen pulled themselves in behind you.

“ah, so your the mysterious demon that’s been ripping through japan?”

an irish accent bleeds into the room, your eyes wiping upward to see that of a white man. 

the white man mizu had so been chasing.

“you,” mizu said with a deep growl in her voice, slowly pushing herself up onto her feet. 

mizu couldn’t possibly fight fowler on her own, in her condition. 

so you slunk around, grabbing a rope on your way. you slid behind fowlers chair, catching him in the rope by his throat—tossing him over to mizu.

you watched as your wife absolutely destroyed the Irish fuck, smiling a little as you did so.

that’s when you felt a hand grasp your throat, tugging you over into the heat of the battle.

you grabbed one of your weapons, holding it in a shaky hand, as you slowly lost consciousness from your lack of air.

“get your fucking dirty hands off her,” mizu growled.

“oh? okay,” his hands worked quickly, whipping out a pistol, firing the shot right below your thigh. 

you screamed, your scream so haunting, mizu thought it would live in her mind for the rest of her life.

he tossed you across the room, your back hitting the wall as you desperately held your injury—trying to clot the bleeding as best as you could.

a fire, burned in mizu’s blue eyes.

a fire you thought you had never seen before.. pure anger and rage steered her now.

mizu attempted to lunge at him, take his demon ass down, but was hit out of the way with the end of the pistol. 

you still had your pistol, tucked in your kimono.

in a last resort effort, you grabbed it, attempting to point it right at fowlers head.

your shaky hands lead it to his shoulder, though, firing the gunshot right through his shoulder.

it tears the pair apart, mizu falling onto her back and scampering back to her barley steady feet.

she grabbed taigen, rushing over to you and grabbing you, as well.

once outside, you find ringo, looking through the snowy trees.

“.. mizu?” ringo gasps, his eyes traveling to you and taigen, as well. “where have you..”

“fowlers castle, ringo,” she answers hurriedly, her voice raspy and laced with pain. “please, ringo, if.. if she doesn’t get some sort of fucking medical attention soon—she’ll bleed out and.. I.. I can’t..” mizu’s voice cracks, holding you tight to her body. “can’t afford to loose her.”

ringo’s expression softens, a bit. they weren’t on the best of terms.. but seeing mizu so vulnerable lit something within him.

and he quite liked you. he wouldn’t let you die for no good reason.

“okay, master,” ringo nodded, grabbing taigen by his arms so she could properly hold you.

she held you bridal in her arms, her thumbs rubbing against the exposed bloody skin of your hips.

“it’ll be alright,” she whispered, knowing you could somewhat hear her, “you’re not allowed to die before i do, you know.” 

a faint, weak chuckle leaves your lips, “I-I didn’t… p-plan on it..”

you make it to the swordfather’s. you had never met swordfather, before, but mizu had told you about him.

he sounded like a father, to mizu. her only real connection to a loving parent.

and of course, you were meeting him with a gunshot in your leg.

“boy,” eiji greeted, gesturing for her to lie you down. “ringo has informed me of what happened.”

mizu looks up at ringo, nodding to the man thankfully.

she laid you down, sitting by your side and watching eiji’s hands carefully. his hands were old, yet precise in their movements. despite his age, and his blindness, he had the most steady hands mizu knew.

she trusted him to stitch you up, unlike she would trust anyone else.

she grasped your hand as you winded in pain, holding it tight to her chest so you could feel her heart beating beneath her clothes.

your eyes were slightly open, gazing up at her. she nodded to you, ruffling a hand slowly through your hair.

“oh.. I..” mizu whispered, “I never introduced you two,” she mumbled. “this is my wife, (y/n), swordfather.”

eiji scoffed, “hm,” he nodded. “your wife, hm? though you’ve never settled down, on this foolish quest, that has almost killed her?

she sighed, adverting her eyes. she knew eiji was right. she was so foolish, bringing you so close to danger you were shot by a white man.

“yes,” mizu whispered. “I have.”

he scoffed again, “at least you can admit it. now go and get your wife some water, and return after you’ve thought about all of this.”

His ears were ringing, Helen was sitting on the bed behind him crying into her hands and Wyatt was in god damn Wyoming.

“It’s- he’s in real bad shape Ev.” Gale had said, sounding practiced- even when his voice shook. “They have him sedated. John’s looking at flights for you and Hel- we’re paying.”

“Mom? What’s going on?”

Everett looked up from where he’d been head down gripping the dresser, catching Sawyer’s eye where he’d come to stand in the open doorway of their room.

“Is Wyatt-” He started to whisper, sucking in his bottom lip and glancing over his shoulder for any siblings in earshot. “Is Wyatt dea-”

“No.” Everett said sharply, letting go of the dresser, suddenly feeling shaky on his feet. “Come in and close the door Sawyer.”

Sawyer did as he was told like he always did. But he stopped short of sitting down on the bed, not moving much farther into the room at all. Helen lifted her head and swiped at her eyes, chest heaving as Sawyer looked between the two of them.

“Can someone tell me what’s going on- I don’t like this-”

“Wyatt showed up at the Bucks’ house.” Everett interjected. He only lasted a couple seconds watching Sawyer’s face light up before he averted his gaze back at the dresser to ruin all that. “But-” He started, breath catching on the lump in his throat. “He’s- he’s in the hospital right now bud, it’s not good.”

A sob tore through Helen before Sawyer could say anything- wounded and loud enough that it startled both of them. Everett saw her going into the bathroom with her face pressed into her arm out of the corner of his eye. And the room so quiet now that he could hear her knees hitting the tile a few seconds later.

He took a shaky breath in and out as his own face started to feel wet. Forcing himself to look at Sawyer, he went back to white knuckling the dresser.

A ghost looked back at him. Soft face that looked just like his pale as a sheet.

“So- so he’s going to-”

“No.” He interrupted again. “He’s not going to die- he’s just…not in good shape- right now.” Everett continued, trying to convince himself just as much as he was Sawyer.

HI I'M ANALYZING HIDE'S CHARACTER BC HE IS INTERESTING AND THERE ARE ASPECTS PPL GLOSS OVER AND I WANNA BRING THEM TO LIGHT SO WELCOME TO LUCI'S UNINHIBITED RAMBLING ZONE!

First off, he's often loud, cheery, and really just an extrovert. He's always around people and has no problem striking up a conversation! But that's just the surface. While he knows lots of people, Kaneki is the only close friend he has. Hell, Kaneki is the only friend he has. The only other person he knows well enough to call a friend is probably Nishiki, but even then looking back on vol. 1 it looks like Hide only got close to him because he suspected him of being a ghoul.

Multiple times we see Hide is not so bright and energetic when he's alone. He's sad. Being bright and happy is a facade, a mask he wears to not make others worry about him. I feel his anime face angles show this best, actually.

On the left, he's worried and looks dejected while on the right he's that ray of sunshine we all know.

Up until volume 7 of :re dropped, we really didn't know anything about him and it wasn't until the final chapter that we learned his backstory. He's very closed off and doesn't like to talk about himself. It's very likely that he put on this happy sunshine personality to hide the sad side of him.

Secondly, there's his loyalty and willingness to help. I think he's the kind of person that just can't stand seeing others hurt and will go to great lengths to try to help them, even at the cost of himself. When Kaneki went missing, he trailed dangerous ghouls and risked getting close enough to Yamori to put a tracker on him. When Kaneki needed to eat in order to heal that wound, Hide offered his own flesh. When Amon was about to be killed because he was a failure, Hide stepped in and knocked out the guards using supplies he definitely stole from the CCG. These were all extremely risky actions where one misstep would have gotten him killed, but someone he cared about was in danger.

He likely works himself to exhaustion trying to help people, even beating himself up for not preventing the whole dragon situation even though there's nothing he could have done.

I feel like there's so much more I wanna say but I suck at words and explaining my thoughts

Or, that’s what Danny was imagining, at least. But despite the loud bang of the door, the scrambling feet, and overwhelming voices, the door stayed perfectly intact on its hinges.

“Aunt Alicia!” Jazz popped up from the couch. “Welcome!”

“Jazz!” Alicia stepped through the interior, her suitcase in hand. A green coat had been thrown over her overalls and plaid T-shirt, and she shed it as soon as she stepped through the threshold of the door.

She ushered Alicia into the living room with a, “Come, sit. It was a long flight. Would you like anything to drink? We have both red and white wine somewhere in the cabinets—oh, the white hasn’t been chilled.”

Danny sat rigid on the couch, the cushions suddenly feeling hard underneath him. His brain registered a vague pressure on his thighs, and he glanced down to see his hands gripping his legs. It was still strange to feel only pressure where his brain expected more, and he let his legs go. I agree with your anon who mentions other “private celebs” aren’t all that private.

People love using Ryan and Eva as examples of private when nobody seems to pick up that they play up their relationship when one or both needs press. Ryan and Eva even wore matching necklaces at one point with each other’s initials during a press tour and they talk about each other all the time. They make mentions that become article headlines (PR).

Chris and Elsa - the same. They’re very played up but it works for them because the public responds well to them as a couple. They were set up by their publicists years ago, when both their careers were just starting out. (This was in an interview with hems I believe) It seemed like a setup that just happened to workout for them.

Chris E is pretty private about his personal life in terms of - he doesn’t post himself IRT or out and about with his friends or family. Some celebs will post themselves IRT or on vacation or doing stuff with family but CE doesn’t. Part of this is because he didn’t have IG so the story option wasn’t on twitter. He may post a pic or two with his family or dog but those are usually pretty random and you can’t really tell where he is. Also, if he posts a pic and it’s just him and his dog at home - how is that crossing boundaries? He’s allowed to do that. But eagle eyed fans can match up corners and curtains 🙄 and I guess he had to learn that the hard way too.

It seems like that’s always been his MO. Posts glimpses into his life but not enough to tell the whole story.

The problem here is that his fans had some how found the SM accounts of ppl in his life - which I’m not totally sure has anything to do with him. I feel liek perhaps his brother plays a big part in this - his brother often posts his life like a reel and he follows many many IG accounts. Perhaps the stalking just went from there and since his brother is so open and interactive, it becomes easier to stalk and the boundaries get crossed even more. Not that he’s at fault, but fans may look through his follows for people who are connected and have public accounts. His brother interacts openly with his family and close friends on his IG, and fans can stalk to see what their account handles are and go from there. That’s how they did a lot of this IG pandemic era stalking, especially regarding IG follows.

But even his brother has stopped posting anything regarding him and has stuck to his own life primarily. I think they finally realized boundaries were needed, but it just came. A little too late.

Also - note that CE for the most part has been a bachelor (not married, tied down to a partner for too long) and therefore perhaps his boundaries seemed less stringent because his home was his and his alone.

I think we need to remember that sometimes single people have different priorities than married people. When CE was single (unmarried), he didn’t have to answer to a partner of how or what he could post and share. He could post what he wanted and if he showed bits of his home, there was no one else there whose privacy needed to be protected. He could test his own boundaries and like you said, maybe his were a little loose due to not having to answer to anyone else. But I don’t necessarily fault him for that - it just means he needed to learn.

Not that I believe his current marriage is completely genuine (I don’t lol), but I do think that if he had always been seriously committed to someone, those sharing boundaries may have been a bit different earlier on.

I do have to say Blake and Ryan play up their relationship a LOT and I don’t see them as very private. For their kids, maybe, but for everything else - you can see what they’re doing when it’s put on for show. But again, the public responds well to it and it works for them.

For CE and his wife - things didn’t go so well. The public doesn’t care and the loud part of his fans despise her and the relationship. It was never really going to be received well and I do wonder if they sort of knew this and like you said, doubled down anyway and lost the house.

To me that seems more plausible than they were “completely” blindsided. I don’t think so. I also think he was already starting to feel some type of way summer of 2022 - when they were preparing to launch the thing in later fall. People have said his demeanor during his summer press tours showcased something different. Then by the time he got SMA - everyone noticed how glum he appeared and the energy seemed totally off. Maybe he didn’t care about the title (it didn’t seem like he cared much from public actions) and he shows up with her in CP and the live video caught of them walking in the park in utter silence - masks on, sunglasses -

It was interesting to see, that’s for sure.

Moving forward, it does seem he’s going to set deeper boundaries and I think it’s a good thing. Yeah, maybe it’s too late for his fandom which seems to have depleted - but you have to reap what you sow and move onwards.

I do think fans need to take more accountability. I think a lot of excuses have been made for crazy fans and the terms gaslighting and manipulation are always being used. You have to remember, Hollywood at its core is manipulation and the entertainment industry, PR, and marketing are all forms of manipulation to sell a narrative and push a message. If you really think about it, we’re constantly being manipulated by media. Like you said though, we have the right to question and choose what we want to accept and believe and what we don’t. We have that right and that responsibility. But real crazy people never seem to think they are the problem, and I think that’s something this fandom is struggling to deal with right now.

fans should definitely take more accountability BUT they should also hold their favorite celebs to a higher level of accountability as well. these celebrities know what they're doing; they have full teams working constantly to maintain it. and while there are definitely crazy fans, i'm hard to convince there is such a high concentration in this particular fandom in the particular little corner of the internet. but that's a topic for a different day.

First Impressions: honestly his design doesn’t really appeal to me. my friend said he looked like a TWST chara but honestly i can’t see it based off what I know about that game. also his name makes me think of betel nuts. that said i like the little skits he did for his pre-debut vids.

Debut: he has a very… “bro-ish” voice lol. also he’s talking really fast. idk if it’s bc of the nerves or not. pulling out the slide out of his hat was very creative ngl. betel nut man confirmed. idk what to make of his comedy, it’s good but not really to my taste. he’s really loud so i probably wont watch him much or my ears may explode. mascot is cute tho ig. purple likers based. also… this guy laughs at his own jokes? at least he loves himself so good ig? actually nvm he doesn’t RIP. fuck cockroaches tho. he plans to do drinking streams? oh god i can’t imagine how chaotic he’ll be on alcohol. also he can’t cook?! dear lord. omg that catwalk is pretty af. also his design has grown on me, bro jumped out of an otome LMAO.

First Impressions: he looks like a tiny little apple 🍎. baby boy, baby (or is he? i didn’t follow these guys on twt so i wouldn’t know). but lmao at that edgy-ass name 🖤🥀⛓. then again one of my oshis also has a chuuni name (but its in japanese so my monolingual ass can ignore it kek) so i can’t really judge. it seems the name was chosen to fit with the design as it is more overt abt the sci-fi stuff than all the others. friend said he looked like an edgy und3rt4le oc and while i get the edgy oc part i don’t get the und3rt4le part. his skits were frankly amazing and i don’t think anyone can top them.

Debut: that intro screen is so cute oml. also the logo bounces around like a tv on standby thats really neat! music is cool too! omg he did a “behhh” i like him alr! his lore video was nice and funny too. if im not mistaken he’s the first tempus member to have a dedicated lore vid right? now that i’m hearing his natural voice it sounds really pleasant! must protecc. i may be shorter but im calling him short anyways for lols. he looks cute when he’s angry www. his layouts are pr creative i love this man. he screams loud but its okay he is babi. vegetable dislikers are based and no one can tell me otherwise. if this is him at low energy, how would he be at high energy? headpats tskr. outro is cool.

First Impressions: pretty boy. purple is my favorite color + most of my oshis are associated with blue so his indigo color just makes me mesmerized. and because of that it would be funny if his voice was deep as hell. my friend said he looked like a jenshin chara and while i do understand that bc jenshin is many people’s first exposure to this kind of fashion… okay yeah he kinda does look like a jenshin chara. instant roll lmao.

Debut: his intro is pretty dope, especially with the music. omg he can do metal screams?!? his voice isn’t deep as hell but its still not what i expected. weirdly enough it still fits. i really like his sense of humor the most so far. he talks at an average speed to me but ppl have said i talk fast so im probably not the best judge i retract my statement he actually does talk fast. OMG A VOCALOID FAN B A S E D. i think i can hear an accent, a pretty thick one at that. yknow what, shinri has competition when it comes to who’ll get demonetized first. my boy drawing with ms paint lmao. probably gonna become my oshi for this wave (?).

First Impressions: the boing boings are on full display. pec nation has won. now we must prepare for the ultimate battle, the battle against demonetization. jokes aside his design is kinda generic imo but if it works it works. also he actually looks slightly older than everyone else so thats a plus. friend said he looked like a himbo and tbh i get that. but from what ik he doesn’t seem like one so far? he’s giving off more “father figure” vibes to me.

Debut: the intro bgm is chill which makes me hope he’ll be chill too. holy shit his voice is really deep, like probably the deepest out of the vtubers i’ve seen so far. i think his laugh is cute. so far the chillest of them all, which admittedly isn’t a hard bar to clear. i do appreciate the simpler debut this time, the other guys production values and ideas were good but this one will definitely age gracefully. daddy (platonic). mans has his priorities in order. the little JRPG section was neat, my friend called it when they said “jrpg vibes”. yet another league player, nobody is perfect. probably won’t watch him much if he goes ahead with the horror stuff bc its not my genre but i appreciate him carving out a little niche for himself.

OVERALL:

I like most of them, but I’m worried the group dynamic may be a bit unbalanced this time around. We got three loud guys and one chill dude, which will be an… interesting combo. These guys seem to have lots of cool ideas and potential, so I would be interested in seeing how they could improve. 8/10 stars, mostly enjoyed the relay.

Since demon slayer matchups are possible imma sneak my request in ahah. I go by he/they, and am bi so any character works for me as long as they aren't a minor (im in my early 20s).

My friends describe me as someone very open and explicit. I don't really hold back with what i say (got better with age). I like to keep it real even if someone may not like what they will hear. I'm definitely argumentative (at times a bit overbearing bc I get real passionate - esp if it has to do with history). Yet id say i am definitely open to being proven wrong and i always try to get down to the truth rather than "win" the argument. Play devils advocate a lot too. I'd say my moral compass and priorities are a bit vague since my opinions are everchanging and i am way too flexible to fit into anything since i feel like i can fit into everything ("jack of all trades but master of none" type struggle). Commitment issues towards everything in life except romantic relationships.

I'm also big into art (especially sculpting, painting and architecture). I thrive mentally when i look at stuff that's interesting, satiating and stimulating. It is almost like a source of energy. Hence, i naturally gravitate towards ppl who stand out and are big into self-expression thru fashion, cosmetics, etc. I personally express myself thru jewellery tho since I am really into it. Anything large, unique and smth "no one wants to buy bc it is crazy-looking".

There's not much i dislike but the biggest issue i have is a narrow and closed mind. Also useless bureaucracy. I hate waiting for my papers and procedures lol. Also big hatred for AI art.

I think this is a very nicely matched pair I’ve gotten set up! Rengoku is like your polar opposite alignment, but it wouldn’t really be a big deal since you both follow similar patterns enough to not be totally out of sync, but different enough to keep things interesting! Rengoku is the burning flame and you’re his gasoline, a truly explosive match indeed!

Matched up against each other in a training exercise, it was really no surprise he beat all of the trainees in the obstacle course. What was a surprise, though, was that you were basically neck and neck with him the entire length of the course. He only beat you at the last second, clearly frustrating you. Your brash direct attitude evenly matched with his fiery passion and loud volume, you both started fighting with your words, freaking out some of the attendants nearby. Don’t worry, Shinobu punched both your heads to get you two to shut up. After you sparring with each other day and night (albeit the weirdest things to fight over like who could make the floorboards shine brighter), Mitsuri sets you both up on a date, and the rest is a shooting star cosmic wonder!

Renogoku never understood why you were so mad that you were bested by him of all things. He thought it was admirable that you craved to be better than the best of the best. He even offered to help train you. Though, his phrasing could have been done better as you both immediately jumped into an impromptu sparring session due to your frustration and anger. You both got to have a nice sit down talk in the middle of a destroyed demon base in an abandoned (or what’s left of it honestly because let’s face it you accidentally destroyed the demons in your fury and Rengoku’s “gentle” redirecting blows to them) dojo like house in the middle of the pine tree forest.

Honestly gets a little jealous when you hang out with the Serpent Hashira, Igoro Obanai, due to his reptile, Kaburamaru, being one of the few reptiles you keep in close contact with. Rengoku doesn’t realize this is jealousy and assumes he’s being a jerk and tries to not be one which often leaves him less responsive and quieter than usual when you’re all in close proximity of each other. Mitsuri thankfully recognizes this (to some degree) and doesn’t blame him too much and tells you to spend more time with him afterwards as a result.

Wears a lot more jewelry as a result, makes the Sound Hashira, Uzui Tengen, jealous with how “flashy” it is and ends up begging you (more like stealing you in which Rengoku has to steal you back which turns into a reality comedy show for the spectators…) to make him some of your jewelry for himself and his wives where Rengoku again with jealousy and having his own internal struggles of understanding how to handle it and what it means to him as he lacked his own emotional availability and care from his own family issues.

Rengoku can’t hear as well these days, hence he speaks loudly majority of the time. However, when you’re both spending time together, he quietly asks you to describes some of the sounds he can’t hear as clearly, especially during some of your favorite things to do like watching thunderstorms and lightning strikes. He loves watching you go on and on about how crisp the lightning strikes are against the ground, how the thunder ripples across the angry grey clouds like how the waves are gently caressing the sand on a calm beach. He can’t get enough how you never tire to explain to him in great elaborate detail of the sounds he can’t hear as well.

As I mentioned, I personally headcanon that Rengoku has issues with emotional availability and care that isn’t violence due to his upbringing. Thanks to his father becoming emotionally stunted through his alcoholism and the grief of his wife, Rengoku’s mother, passing away, he’s unable to connect with his two remaining sons as a result. This is where Rengoku becomes quieter and takes care of his younger brother until he leaves to join the Demon Slayer Corps. When this is finally all revealed on a rather tense night when you had both been sparring much more than usually lately, you demand that you two both go take his little brother out of that horrible environment until his father is willing to pull himself together by his own accord. He’s absolutely crying right then and there from your confession, so eternally grateful for having such a intensely bright person come into his life and wants to take care of his little brother that also aspires to join in the Demon Slayer Corps? Absolutely stunning. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he tried to propose to you right then too~.

Overall, after the initial lack of being able to find a communication style that worked for you guys well, I’d say Rengoku would be very excited to have found a life time partner that also allowed him to continue improving himself and his skills to kill demons together. He loves how nurturing to fiery bright you can be, from taking in his little brother and reading stories to him at night when you think he’s not watching to telling him he’s an asshole for saying it the way he did in the middle of a battle with a demon. Truly couldn’t be more grateful that he’s got such a unique and powerful person to stick by his side for as long as possible while working the Demon Slayer Corps. together.

so in the book, we hear a lot more about fantines backstory

so she was dating this dude and she was absolutely head-over-heels for him but he's like "meh it's just a side chick" or smth and so she was in this friend group and they all had bfs so they went on this quadruple date (there were four pairs) and the dudes told the girls they had a surprise for them and all the girls were super excited!! but the "surprise" was that all the bfs were leaving and the dudes saw it as a prank but for fantine (idk abt the other girls) it was like "omg this dude who was my main source of stability is fuckin gone" and she was left with custody of cosette so now she's gotta take care of herself and this little girl on her own (keep in mind fantine is like 25 at this point)

so she's wandering around tryna find somewhere to stay and she finds mrs. thernadier outside with her children (yeah the thernadiers had like a buncha kids including eponine and gavroche) and fantines like "oh u look like a good mom will u take care of my girl" and the thernadiers were like "yeah but you have to give us this outrageous amount of money" so fantine was like "anything for my bbg"

so fantine is left on her own with the thernadiers taking care of cosette and demanding way too much money and fantine would pay cuz she was being told that her girl was being taken care of, but she actually wasn't. the thernadiers were treating cosette like a slave, she was dressed in rags and barely fed, and everything that fantine gave the thernadiers was given to their other kids or they used it for idk what which is messed up cuz now fantine is being lied to AND is being milked for what little money she has

so now fantine is trying to find a job and she worked at this factory that the mayor (cough cough jean valjean) owns and runs but the ladies there are all gossippy bitches that get fantine fired so now she doesn't have a job and is steadily having to pay more and more to the thernadiers. so she's wandering around the street and some lady's like "i'll give u ten francs for your hair" (which was actually like quite a bit at that time idk look it up) and fantines like "ugh i have no money so ig so" and another dude's like "i'll give u 40 francs for two of your teeth" (why he wanted her teeth i'll never know) and fantines like "dhhdhs i need the money" so now she has no hair and is missing two teeth

shes still wandering around yk when these ppl r like "omg u need money? become a prostitute it pays very well" and she's like "screw it i've lost all my pride already" so now she's a prostitute but it STILL isn't enough cuz the thernadiers keep demanding MORE MORE MORE but she's just chilling on the street one day and some dude like assaults her and she fights back but gets the police called on her (knock knock it's javert, bitch) so now she's gonna get arrested but the mayor's like "nuh uh she didn't do anything" so javert and the mayor (cough cough jean valjean) are doing old man yaoi or whatever and fantine just leaves cuz the mayor lets her

but now fantine is sick so she's in the hospital with tb and all she wants is to see cosette. the mayor comes and visits and he promises that he'll take care of cosette and get her away from the thernadiers so she dies happy knowing that her precious little girl is safe

so yeah that was like fontine's entire story and it probably all sucks cuz i was typing really fast and not really going back for corrections lol. sorry for such a long read

but yes the musical repetitions like in Come to Me the same tune is used in On my Own and when the Bishop is doing some holy baptising Christian god stuff with valjean that’s a very similar tune to Empty Chairs at Empty Tables and the tune for Lovely Ladies, like most of that song is what is in Turning Turning just Turning Turning is a lot softer and more somber, which could be intentional to idk show contrast between the prostitutes and the dead kids but still an outcome of the poverty if you get what I mean? oh and in Valjeans existential crisis that I’ve forgotten the name of that tune is the same as the tune in Javerts soliloquy which I think is artistic genius because it’s both characters, one of which who has been at the others neck the entire show, having a massive fucking realisation about their life and making a huge decision by the end which is awesome but obviously one ends in “yay let’s be better man and use an alter ago” and then other ends in “well looks like imma go jump off the bridge then” so obviously contrasting endings (intentional?) but still.
