well, the story hes from is veeeeery crack-turning-serious and goes like this:

the protagonist is a high elf named vindrael, short vin, whos very short and bland looking than the average beautiful tall elf. bc of this he gets overlooked since his birth and developed quite the inferiority complex. to make up for all this, he dedicates his life to the art of summoning and studies hard until he becomes one of the greatest summoners his age

the king of the land notices vins magical powers and intelligence and takes him in to become the court summoner and serve one of his two sons. vin develops a crush on the king (since he noticed and believed in him) and chooses the younger son, prince titus, so he can stay at the court and near the king instead of the older son, prince aris, who travels the lands with his guild and slays monsters. years later, aris and his warriors die in a dungeon and it affects the king and his mental health greatly. he favored his eldest and neglected titus bc titus isnt the smartest and brightest and it brought shame to his father

from then the king changed greatly and years later he sends his remaining son off to "slay a dragon"; giving vin the choice to stay at court or go with him. vin ofc goes with titus bc he still feels extremely guilty over aris death and how it made him feel relieved he didnt choose him back then; he decided he would follow titus everywhere even if it was death, trying to overcome his fears

it then turns out the dungeon they were sent to was a trap meant to kill titus and his warriors, using their lives as an offering to that residing dragon to bring back aris from the dead. the king wasnt aware tho that the dragon king is unable to use his ancient powers bc hes missing a horn and thus cant turn into his true form so titus strikes a deal with the mysterious dragon dude right then and there - to vins horror - to free him if he lets him go and pretend he died in that dungeon. titus wants to grow strong like "a true king" to prove himself and find out what his father is truly up to and stop him bc its clear its smth evil

anw prince titus is one of the protags. hes extremely strong but very dumb and naive. his father always neglected him bc of that and favored his older brother. he considers vin his best friend and admires him bc hes so smart. when the dragon joins their little group, he immediately trusts him to vins horror and listens to anything he teaches him, even if its naughty or useless stuff hes not aware of (the dragon is a shameless bastard who loves teasing and trolling ppl, esp vin). titus has a pure heart; he is very optimistic, always happy and always believes in the good of ppl despite his dad betraying and sacrificing him. on their journey he matures and becomes wiser from their experiences and everything shows how hes gonna become a truly great king

hes also lit the definition of a himbo. there is nothing going on in his head (sometimes it makes him a bit sad) but his respect and good behavior is out of this world akjbscjk

i dont ship juliayne (juliayne shippers i do not hate you please do your thing i love you), but goddamn i want more interactions between theyre sooooo silly

ep 13: listen, i think wayne winning is fine. do i love himbos? yes. was i rooting for him in the finale? yes. in the grand scheme of things, do i think he is a good finalist? no. we can all agree that hes very much an owen, and i dont mind that!! i actually think having a fan favorite, comic relief, underdog third party winning makes sense in this season, because i dont think caleb or julia winning would be a satisfying end (especially how they were handling them by the end)

caleb's story was messy, and at the end of the day (and i know that the intentions changed), he did start his alliance with priya to use her. him winning, after all of the drama, after priya was gone, wouldve just idk felt shitty. he did get the girl in the end, which concludes his story better than him winning it. (if im comparing this to the tdi 2007 final three,, i guess hes the gwen)

as for julia, she had two seasons to be villain, and it was amazing. she is so good at what she does and she is such a joy to watch. and we all know how total drama handles its villains, they need to get their comeuppance. did bowie double cross her last season? yes. and she came back still was the main villain and was AMAZING at it. but she was still the villain for another 13 episodes, AND HER GETTING PRIYA OUT LAST EPISODE, she cant win. was her just desserts satisfying? meh. nice callback to heather (we all know julia is the heather of this comparison), though i can understand people who dont like this callback and think its tiring or something. they couldve done something else, but im not mad (i kinda fuck with the mullet). i just see no satisfying way for julia to win with how she was presented in these seasons: she was not world tour heather, with three full length seasons and a greater threat to overcome; she was island heather, and therefore could not win.

overall thoughts of the season:

im someone that thinks the hockey bros jokes nearly always land, so i enjoy the shit out of them (i think im in the majority?)

im someone that did not like priyaleb at first, grew to being more neutral about it, but still found it to be a bit tiring. i like priya, i like caleb, i dont like tiring romantic subplots, and it sucks that that was the entire thing for these characters this season

the julia mk duo was AMAZING, one of the highlights of this season and one that i never wouldve expected to be real. mkulia wins in my heart and i hope they start their podcast (JULIA WAS GOIGN TO USE THE MONEY TO START THE PODCAST WITH MK HOLY SHIT GIRL IS IN LOVE)

it sucks that certain characters really got nothing this season (millie, nichelle, emma, and even axel to an extent).. but i get that characters like millie and emma already had a lot of screentime last time and someone has to be an early boot (just realize the ones i listed off were all women,, damn the writers fr just hate women)

at the end of the day, i really enjoyed this season. and i think the most important part of that enjoyment was this was the first time i got to watch a season and have no idea what was going to unfold. i watched the first four season of total drama when they were airing, but i was a little kid with poor comprehension skills. the first three seasons aired before i knew how to read (i learned to read late). and with tdpi, rr, and tdi 2023, i watched them after the fact and knew who the winners were going in. this was the first season i watched were i truly did not know the winner, and that added to my enjoyment. not to mention this being the one and only time i was present in an online space to talk about show as the episodes dropped. this season was a bit messy here and there, but it delivered some great stuff. i found myself laughing out loud and just having a good time, which is all i need out of my silly little cartoon

I have weird feeling, that dudes who made monsuno didnt gave Hargrave and Six time together because of one reason. Gay . I mean, cartoon is flaming with gay energy, but it really shows how authors werent allowed to show it DIRECTLY. Like, Six is son of Chase and Klipse officially, but Six and Chase are brothers, when Klipse is Six's father. Hargrave shown to have feelings for Klipse, even a few 18+ jokes("brown noser" cause ass licker, he put his face in Klipse's ass when he-, other one is "start digging" as gay sex slang, as I accidently found out) , but it's covered as Henchman and villian trope. Hargrave doesnt LOOK like ordinary Henchman, at least in cartoons (he isnt ugly but feminine not in cringy way they could make it, and he has normal feminine body type). Damn, Dom wearing latex jumpsuit and is literally crazy Dominant bdsm dude. So, if Hargrave loves Klipse, and if Klipse is Six's father, if Hargrave directly was shown to love and care about Six, it would be directly shown as gay family, and it probably wasnt allowed st that time.

I won’t even be that surprised if that was the reason. Like, if an animated children’s show in the early 2010s was to even imply or slightly show a scene that screams LGBTQ+, then they get axed almost immediately. Like no matter what the show is about, one scene with that much gay context and it’s on thin ice from the company. Which is insane because other shows can do much worse in other categories like showing abuse and traumatic deaths, but can still run if they don’t show any LGBTQ+ content even if it’s heartwarming and healthy. Nicktoons finally had their chance to show a lesbian couple in 2014 via Korra and Asami, but by then, Monsuno was in its last season in 2014 and they couldn’t change anything to show that their characters have LGBTQ+ coded family.

And this is despite the fact the show is partially a Japanese anime, and anime can be notorious for having scenes that are LGBTQ+ coded, even if the characters might not be gay. Like name an anime, and anyone can find a gay scene. No seriously, we live in the Hell (affectionate) that is Tumblr. So Monsuno should’ve had some gay family scenes with some of the Klipse members showing how loyal they are to each other, and it’s a crime that it didn’t happen. Like Chase gained another dad via Jon Ace because Jeredy had way too many scenes with him, why didn’t Six get his happy and crazy gay evil family scenes? Okay, fine Sophia was back in the picture by the end of season two so Jeredy and Chase can have their family together again, but Jeredy was on thin ice when it comes to being next to Jon Ace and Klipse for the majority of season two so Six should’ve still had a crazy family moment with everyone he’s related to on the Klipse side.

It really is sad that none of the Monsuno animation team and every one who worked on the show couldn’t show a scene from Six’s pov about his family since they are literally a non traditional nuclear family that does care for each other despite having rough patches in their relationship. If they did, it could’ve shown why Six is so loyal to his family, why Six wouldn’t care that Hargrave is man/butler and can’t really be his mom when he wants to see him as a motherly parental figure, why Six doesn’t mind Dom being Dom nor care about his outfits, and why Six is fine with Klipse giving this crazy family. It would be groundbreaking in that era of cartoons since Six could’ve shown what’s a healthy relationship and what’s a bad relationship in a pov of someone who lived in a non traditional household that could still apply to traditional households.

But unfortunately, it’s the early-mid 2010s, and trust me, all the good animated shows that show a healthy relationship between people of the same gender or show a happy non traditional family, there’s bound to be a fight between the creators and the rest of the team wanting their wishes and the company showing the cartoon threatening them with cancellations.

Danny was looking off into the distance, paying zero attention to anything going on around him. It was lunch, on an oddly normal day. No ghosts to chase yet, everything was okay. Nothing to ruin his day.

Until water was poured over his head that is.. “Hey! Dash! Come on, leave him alone” Growled Sam from beside the dark haired boy with now dripping wet hair. “What? He looked like he needed a shower”  Danny winced as he heard Dash and his group laugh. It wasnt even a good joke.. Or insult. “Yeah, well I smell better than you..” He muttered to himself, a little louder than he meant. Silence. An evil sounding chuckle and a tight grip on his shoulder “What did you say to me, Fenton?”

Tucker stepped up. “He said he smells better then poo, which... odd thing to say dude, but I guess its true.. Leave him alone, Dash, you’ve done enough this week” Before the blonde bully had time to argue, Danny’s ghost sense went off. “Oh no... I have to go” He announced, shoving Dash’s hand off his shoulder and running out of the cafeteria with a redhead following him. He knew Wes had been following him and trying to prove to everyone that he was Phantom, but he also knew there was zero proof to back him. He always thought it was funny to tease him or give away his secret when he knew only Wes could see him. Now was one of those times. “Going ghost” He whispered to himself, transforming. Floating into the air he turned around, freezing at what he saw. His blood went cold, his cocky expression deminished. Wes. Smirking. Holding his phone. Video proof.. “Shit..” He turned around quickly, realizing he had a fight to win an a ghost to catch, but afterwards.. He needed to catch Weston before that proof was leaked.  The fight lasted half an hour at most, Danny winded with a few bruises and a cut on his cheek. None of that mattered, he needed to find Wes. Or Wes needed to find him.  His initial idea of running down the hallway to find him wasn’t working well, especially with how tired he was. Leaning against the wall to take a breath for a second, he found his target. Or maybe his target found him... Soon, Danny was walking purposefully towards Wes, who had stopped in front of a closet. Waiting for the confrontation, that same smirk on his face. As much as he hated to admit it, annoying Wes by showing off his ghostly side wasn’t just for fun anymore. It was still fun of course, just... He felt he got more from it. Wes’s quiet sighs and screeches of annoyance at every little obvious to Wes only clues he gave out.. The only word he could use to describe it was just.. Cute. For weeks and weeks the teenager had wondered exactly what it meant for him, what exactly was with him. This situation was far past just an annoyed reaction from the redhead, no, Wes stood with that smirk, pride, confidence, all of which weren’t making any part of his previous continuous questioning any easier.  ‘Pull yourself together, Danny, just get him to get rid of the proof...’ “Fenton. What a surprise...” Came Wes’s cocky tone.

The taller boy rolled his eyes before looking back at Danny with a grin, waving his phone a bit. “I’ve finally got my proof! I’ve got it! I’m assuming you’re here to convince me to keep this a secret?” Danny assumed a defeated expression, sighing but nodding. “What do you want?”

Wes paused, watching Danny, the smallest hint of a smile on his face. “For starters, I want you to tell my that you are the Phantom” The halfa sighed, looking to the side. “Alright... Alright, fine, you were right Wes, I’m the Phantom” Just to add a little bit of a cool factor to impress his newfound realization crush just cause, he let his eyes glow green in a phantom-ish way. He regretted it only for a moment, until he heard the unmistakable excited sound that came from in front of him. The wonder that was Wes Weston had just squealed. And if he didnt know better... He’d say there was a slight tint of pink to his cheeks... What was that for...? “You good there, Weston?” He asked, obviously implying something. 

The reaction he received confirmed his thoughts, watching the pink get more noticeable. “Shut up Fenton, I could still send the text to everyone”

“Right.. Okay, what else do you want from me?”  This time, Wes hesitated, staring into Danny’s eyes. Though he could have sworn there was something in his eyes, something else he wanted to say. “Just... Meet me at the park tomorrow after school..” He sounded a lot different than he did five minutes ago, almost nervous...

“Uh.. Okay” Danny nodded. “Thats it?”

“Yeah, thats it.. See you tomorrow, after school at the park, if you arent there after half an hour, Im posting the evidence” With that, Wes turned around and walked off leaving Danny alone in the hallway. The conversation ended oddly and wasnt exactly sure how to take that.. But he was late for his next class, plus Sam and Tucker would be wondering what was up with him.  The rest of the day, Danny went over scenario after scenario trying to figure out what he was meeting Wes for. Was it good, bad, or possibly creepy reason...? That night as he lay in bed, wishing for sleep to claim him, his thoughts were plauged by the cute redhead that seemed to be infatuated with him.  The end of the next school day couldn’t come fast enough, his mind was on what the visit to the park would mean for him and nothing else, just Wes. He wasnt denying it anymore, he had a crush on Wes Weston. He didnt say anything to his friends, instead the two of them pestering him about why he seemed so absent since the day before’s ghost fight. After what felt like years, the final bell rang. Off to the park he walked, the closer he got, the slower he walked. His stomach flipping around, butterflies fluttering, fear and anticipation taking over every little idea in his head. Minutes later, he stood in front of the designated meeting place, standing, worrying, waiting. Soon, someone tapped his shoulder, causing him to turn around. He was met with a single rose and a tall familiar redhead. “Wes...” He muttered, taking in the sight of the blushing Wes holding the rose out to him.  “Reject me softly.. Please?” Danny breathed a small laugh, taking the rose and Wes’s hand. “What if I didn’t reject you at all?”

danny phantom episode 4-7 Thoughts: (under a readmore because, these got kinda long!)

-the outfit danny had to buy for dash's party. CLASSIC 2000S i cannot stop laughing. And also showing up to the party and everyone is dressed like the trio is hilarious. and further proof that everyone looks good dressed goth.

-dash has a closet full of cute lil bear plushies?? LOVE that. adorable. also his response to danny trashing his room fighting a ghost was SO valid if somone BROKE MY BED IN HALF ID BE PISSED TOO.

-technus being like 'oh smart, u should be a tutor!' then later being like 'forget tutor, be a teacher!' :) supportive king <3 I also really like his upgraded suit/design. AND SPOCK CAMEO??? HELLO??

-the music in this show is super. its so funky. I looked it up and the guy who does it, guy moon (awesome name) also did music for other cartoons like fairly odd parents, barnyard, chalkzone, billy & mandy, AND some actual movies like FIGHT CLUB??? the whiplash I got from reading that)

-sam being rich explains a lot about her, actually.

(I didnt go to hs so I might be wrong, if I am ignore this...) freshmen are usually 14-15, could just be a case of them not turning 15 yet but they will sometime in the school year (I say they because tucker said he was 14 too)? I know the show has 3 seasons, so by the end of it will they be older? thatd be neat but usually cartoon characters stay the same age...I love shows where you can see the characters age and grow up, though...three seasons seems like a long time to spend on like, 1 year...

roman: princy or princess?

ok i know the title sounds like crack, but hear me out:

Roman’s whole deal is being a prince. Hes got the costume, he plays up the gimmick, he even has a fricking sword. We know this, we’ve seen the ups and downs of this in the series, and we know the black and white, prince vs evil mentality is about to explode in everyone’s face (more so than it already has, that is) because who everyone expects/wants him to be doesnt line up with his real self, and he’s still not at the point of truly accepting himself for who he isnt (a cookie cutter, perfect prince) and is (a mess) (via @beauty-and-passion bc i love their analyses so fricking much), but we’ll come back to that

Roman’s primary inspiration (via c! thomas’ perception) is disney princes, so lets take a look at their usual jobs in the films.

Vanquish evil

simple enough, right? just like roman, at first it seems that way. Im sure at the beginning of sanders sides we all thought he would be a showy, pretty boy prince who wanted thomas to be ‘good’. Because princes always get rid of the evil in the end, right?

but we know how thats worked out for roman. Mean to virgil, backfired awfully. Condemned janus, everyone’s against roman now. Separate from remus, it came back to bite thomas. And it was fine, roman would have put up with anything so long as it only hurt him, but because thomas got hurt everything is worse. (of course, this is the case with janus too, but i’ll come back to that)

everyone knows by now that there’s going to be a reckoning next episode. We’ve seen thomas costumed as remus, so he’s gonna be in there. Roman had a breakdown last ep, backed into a corner and a confrontation, so if he isnt there when his twin is i am going to riot. Janus is definitely going to be there bc the last ep saw jan fINALLY being accepted (also a part of that confrontation), and i’m just dying to know where virgil has been as well so he might also show up. The whole gang’s gonna see what chaos goes down if patton even sneezes in their general direction

RIGHT

So vanquish evil has failed every which way for roman. Whats left? True love. Now, in most films this refers to a princess, but i think roman’s focus always has been and always will be thomas. He was heartbroken when the whole ‘thomas was lying about roman being his hero’ (or at least roman interpreted janus’ nod that way), his whole theme is because thomas needed a prince to save him from the ‘bad thoughts’ ie remus (which is irrelevant to my point so we dont have time to unpack all that rn- /ref)

But because he failed to vanquish evil the ‘right’ way (even though literally everything patton ever said led him to believe he was doing the right thing-), he’s failed to show thomas the ‘true love’, hence he is no longer thomas’ hero. No longer his prince.

whaBAM, entire basis of his identity no longer exists

So what’s left?

disney is still there, its a core part of roman and no amount of anguish will lessen that it was a core part of c! thomas’ creative development

on that note, roman still has to be his core functions. creativity, passion, ego, hopes, dreams, etc

Thinking on it though, none of those ever fit neatly into the prince persona in the first place. A prince is there to serve his ‘kingdom’ (ie the sides + thomas) and to complete the above values, not to be an artist or performer or any of the things thomas dreams of. And there is no room for passion or ego in the life of a prince because he is always looking out for his people (what should be the others’ job). Which begs the question: why was roman a prince in the first place?

The obvious answer goes back to disney being c!thomas’ first forays into storytelling. the princes were perfect examples of ‘goodness’, which as we know is key to what thomas pre-the newer episodes wanted to be, and existing already in familiar stories with killer songs to match, it was an ideal match for a ‘good’ creativity

But deeper than that, i think roman is a prince because thomas needed a placeholder to be his protector. He wasnt yet aware of janus (the metaphorical protector, saving thomas from what he wasnt yet ready for), lying to himself about the dark other sides altogether, and virgil was too busy playing the ‘bad guy’ at the beginning to show his true colors (looking out for thomas is virgil’s purpose, as we now know), but back then? Roman was the one barricading virgil the most, ‘protecting’ thomas from his influence

Therefore! The reason roman was the prince was to ‘save’ thomas from the others, and unconsciously, the ‘dark creativity’. Without the ‘prince,’ thomas would have accepted the darkness all to easily (from roman’s perspective, which once again goes into the subconscious protecting from remus’ stuff)

But, returning to the point (i keep getting off track lol), now the prince is gone. He’s failed in his pursuits, there is nothing else to protect from (ignoring orange), he isnt thomas’ hero

I think, bear with me, he’s going to become more of a princess now.

Princes, in the typical disney movie, are black and white. Theyre either good (eric, phillip, etc) or bad (see hans). Fight evil, get the girl love interest, live happily ever after, or… dont.

Living happily ever after by fighting evil has gotten roman absolutely nowhere; in fact, it got him ostracized and rethinking his entire self concept, so thats not an option now.

princesses, on the other hand, have gone through a fricking renaissance. Where they used to be as black and white as princes minus the possibly-evil bit and delicate as flowers, now they can be hard-working, law-breaking, dream-chasing, yet still people-saving girlbosses, which is essentially roman on a can label.

im mixing my metaphors, but what roman really, truly needs right now is that metamorphosis. He’s crumbling under the pressure his prince persona puts on him (ha, alliteration). Thomas’ moral dilemma is making his two creativities split at the seams even more than they already have, because if morality is such a spectrum, then why is his creativity so seemingly (forgive the overuse of this phrase) black and white?

If roman could shed the princeliness and take in more princess qualities (ie a certain disregard for the rules, doing whats right [for thomas, that is, which is being himself {a theme in many princess-centric films} despite expectations] by ignoring pre-set rules and expectations), he’d be so much healthier in the long run

Thats not to say he should be a princess aesthetically. Dude said himself- he is a manly man who is manly, but the free spirit so many disney princesses seem to envelop could better not only roman, but thomas

this way, roman doesnt *have* to be perfect to be ‘good’ (something thomas still values, but in a different way now as we see in SvS redux). He can be his truest self (ego, passion, dreams and all) without contradicting who thomas sees roman as. He can go back to being his hero, if he wishes -- just in a new way

Because all the things that dont fit into being a prince fit perfectly into princesses (and he still gets to keep the innate disney-ness for the aesthetic)

Demon AU post... Uh 3 I think

There's a less development on the heaven side of things because we like nasty little demon guys and corruption and shit too much lol. The main heavenly characters are Galacta (Gabriel) and Morpho (Abaddon).

Galacta is huge and dangerous and a hotshot celebrity angel and has a horrible temper. When he got in trouble with God for spending too much time with his demon bf he threw a tantrum that set off a volcanic explosion or something.

He does act as a messenger of sorts, frequently conveying messages to the other characters from God (they're tight), and while I thought it was funny if he wasnt actually a Battle Angel and was the patron saint of stamp collectors despite being super fuckin buff and aggro my partner (who plays him) retconned that and Galacta says that portrayal is a mistake/misunderstanding of some sort. Not sure what he does besides sending messages, probably does lazy patrols and beats up demons that venture onto the surface.

DMK (the incubus) decided he wanted to seduce a real ass angel one day and bet his buddies he could get Gabriel. He did this under the assumption that Gabriel was a mild mannered stamp angel and all his friends knew the truth but no one told him because they're demons and thought it'd be funny if he got beat up or whatever. Joke's on them because it totally worked and they ended up dating for a couple hundred years (they're immortal okay).

Galacta grew horns thanks to DMK's demonic influence so demon au Galacta is just a normal ass Galacta gijinka. His own inherent extreme holiness kept his transformation from ever going past that point. DMK in turn got a fucked up eye from Galacta's heavenly influence. It's fine he doesn't mind.

Side note: I adore dametagala, especially this version of them, for whatever reason they're just really fun and funny and good.

Morpho used to be a more standard high ranking angel by the name of Muriel but came into the job and title of Abaddon. My research on Abaddon was vague and sparse so in the au they're just a grim reaper esque figure that leads dead souls up or down wherever they need to go and makes sure that the people who go down stay down. They live alone in The Pit and they're pretty lonely and have seen a lot of sadness and death and almost everyone is scared of them but they're actually very nice.

Dedede is Daniel and acts as a sort of guardian angel to MK. He actually spends a lot of his time disguised as a human and is a friend of MK's. MK (for now) is completely ignorant to the fact that Dedede is an angel and truly believes that Dedede is just his Normal Friend he can go to to get away from his whacky life dating a demon and another angel. MK believes he needs to hide the weird supernatural shit in his life from Dedede and Dedede can't say anything because he's weirdly adamant about not revealing his true identity (antiquated rules or something?).

Dedede and Galacta are of course acquainted, basically coworkers, technically Morpho as well but Dedede and Galacta know each other better because Dedede is "assigned" to MK and Galacta is one of his bfs. Dedede does not like how careless and open Galacta is about being an angel and the fact that he's just fucking dating a human dude. He doesn't exactly scold him (especially since God was literally like it's fine whatever lol) but he frequently expresses his frustration with it.

Galacta and DMK keep encouraging him to just fess up like its fine dude it doesn't matter just tell him but Dedede refuses. Partially because rules or whatever mostly because he'd hate to shatter MK's illusion of having a normal human friend. Maybe he thinks he does a better job as a guardian from a more "hidden" role.

Other characters that are probably angels but we haven't given much thought to: Taranza, Shadow Marx, Ribbon, Fairy Queen, Bandana Dee

Also Marx may have been the son of God but he just decided like "im evil now" and that's why he's in hell with Magolor.

I wasn’t sure if I should post this but I mostly want it archived so here we go. This is from like,, September?

So. “An Innocent Sin” is a dumpster fire unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I don’t remember why I decided to read it. maybe I was crazy. Either way... I read it. It soon started to touch upon (very very outlandish) sexual abuse which I thought was interesting. (the angst, not so much some of the wack circumstances surrounding it)

ANYWAY. at some point... we have a flashback. And not just that. It has a gay character.
