Oscar’s note being illegible was because of the patrons choosing the option to forget knowing him during episode 40, the other options being to forget meeting John and to forget the duck pond memory of Faroe, which Arthur called his happiest. So sadly it was seen as the best option out of the three that could possibly be lost 😔

this is so random! but i watch a lot of true crime podcasts bc i rlly like how some of them delve into the psychology of the criminals it’s v interesting but scary and there’s this case called the memphis three i think and there’s this guy called damien who was the main suspect but he’s basically innocent i think it was something like that’s it’s been a while since i heard the case😭but ugh idk why i found so many parallels with eddie and with season 4? like it felt like eddies character was based on damien bc the whole hunt thr freak and satanic panic and all of that was part of the case it’s so crazy to see how people actually believe in stuff like this irl and how much damage it can actually cause. i hope this isn’t weird i j needed to tell someone about this😭

i cant say for certain he was based on any specific person BUT the duffer bros did talk about how eddies storyline was heavily inspired by the 80s cult paranoia and the chaos that followed !!! such a well done parallel i cant lie it made perfect sense and they executed it perfectly
