Do you have any tips on how not to freak out during the photo op?

OH MY GOD I'M SO EXCITED FOR YOU YESSSSSS! Like LOOK, I've met celebs before, big names and small, at cons and signings and stuff. Most of them are really cool about it. But Charlie was by far the nicest, most genuine celeb I've had the pleasure of meeting. So you're in good hands here.

Some tips that helped, some of which I got from other Daredevil fans here who'd met him before me!

The biggest one is try to prepare for the photo op to go FAST and for that sudden moment you're right up there with him, cause you'll easily get flustered otherwise. When they were taking me and @wonderlandmind4 through the op, we had maybe twenty seconds. It went: come in, say hi and introduce yourself (he asks your name quite frequently which is lovely), you set up the photo real quick if it's anything other than arms around shoulders (this is when I was like, 'can you hold the other end of this up to your chest?' with the red thread I'd made, and others quickly explained all the poses for their pics), they take the photo, then he shakes your hand (this is where I said, 'thank you SO much Charlie), he usually thanks you for coming by name (I got lucky and got a, 'and you as well my dear, have a lovely day' after I thanked him, FUCKING. SWOON.) , and you're out. So basically the speed can absolutely throw you, because you basically come around the corner and BOOM, he's right there, shaking your hand, smiling at you, and holy shit does he make genuine eye contact which is absolutely capable of stunning you up close. Like, I'd been warned and I still had to fight a momentary burst of white noise in my brain.

If you're going to say something here about loving his work or what Daredevil means to you (other than just, 'oh my god this is awesome' or something), I'd try to pick something short and impactful, but fast. A sentence, maybe two when you're introducing yourself is all you'll have time for, so make it count. Don't be afraid to write it out and then edit it down until it's just right. "Hi, I'm *insert name*, I'm so happy I finally get to meet you." Or "Hi, I'm *insert name*, your work has meant a lot to me, thank you for doing this." Something like that. Quicky funny lines would also probably go down just fine. The important part to know is while he does the best he can, the con itself is running this and they're usually trying to move you through like cattle, so he's limited in how much time he can spend with each person before he's gotta run off to a panel. So if what you've got is short, that'll help you be ready.

Practice, practice, practice. Practice what you're going to say if you need to. Make sure you can run through it on instinct to minimize chances of forgetting what to say or do. And if you have a certain way you want to look, practice that, too. My picture is fucking hilarious to me and fam because while I got through my practiced line about asking him to hold the red thread, I completely forgot how I was going to pose or how I'd planned to smile, and my entire fam knew what had happened the second they saw my absolutely over the moon goofy smile and the way I clearly forgot what to do with the hand I didn't have over his shoulder. Which I wound up liking cause it's a very genuine photo, but some people want something a bit more controlled LOL.

And lastly, because it's worth a repeat: just know that he really does try to make this go well. He's incredibly genuine and nice, and I honestly think he works to make himself very approachable, likely because he knows a lot of us are nervous as hell. One of my friends at the con (who, hilariously, I didn't know was there and who didn't know I was there until he saw me in Charlie's autograph line - I didn't see his message asking if that was me until later) where I met Charlie, was in a REALLY long line for one of the other actors who wound up staying late to sign. He said Charlie stayed just as late to make sure absolutely everyone who'd bought an autograph ticket got their autograph since the con had been kinda disorganized and there were a lot of people still in line. And nobody I've talked to who's met him has ever had a bad experience with him. So just keep reminding yourself of that. <3

So basically yeah, that's what I've got, and he's now my favorite celeb I've ever met, and it was an incredibly positive experience both in the photo op and at the autograph table. You've got nothing to worry about. Just practice, be ready for the speed, and take a deep breath.

i wish i still had twitter for my more whatever thoughts and feelings because i was in a youtube rabbit hole of Whose Line and ""did a google"" for recent things on Drew Carey and google instantly told me he was 5'10" while i am 5'8" and i remember distinctly when i was 13 years old meeting him and he was distinctly 5'3" at best. i looked down on him while he signed my snoopy sweater. one of the nicest celebs i ever met, but dude has sidney crosby's PR agent repping him. i remember him saying "YOU DA MAN" with my mom who kept responding "NO YOU DA MAN" for at least a minute. he was tiny. i could have held him in my palm like a flower and crushed him. like he is so nice but he is not 5'10".

I just recently went to a meet and greet where I met both Nicole and Jesse! At the Q&A, they revealed a lot of stuff I think you'd love to hear!

The Bottle Episode with all the different Brainys was actually Jesse Rath's idea. He planned out all the different personalities of the characters. It was also his idea for Brainy's personality inhibitors to come off and him turn back to green.

Someone asked Jesse and Nicole what they thought Brainy would be like as a dad, and Jesse and Nicole both agreed that he would be the type to encourage his kid to do all extra curriculars possible. Jesse also said, "Or he'd just be boarder line abusive. The type of dad to just throw the kid in the pool and say 'You have to learn to swim sometime. Why not now?'"

They were honestly both the coolest people I have ever met. Jesse is 100% the nicest celeb I have ever met and he did SO MUCH for Brainy's character, it's insane.

OH! Another thing that happened at the Q&A with Jesse and Nicole:

Jesse and Nicole talked about how Jesse once had this idea for a season cliffhanger where it turns out, evil Brainy was pretending to be Brainy-Prime and that the real Brainy-Prime had ended up trapped in the bottle. Jesse said the reveal would be "Brainy" and Nia embracing after beating a bad guy in an ally only for "Brainy" to stab Nia and then... well... yeah.

The crowd was super shocked but turns out it's a plot line in one of the comics that Dream-Girl dies, and Brainiac 5 is the only one who could see or talk to her, and I guess Jesse kind of wanted that plot. Nicole even thought it was a really cool idea.

Oh my god you were at the Superman Celebration!? I am jealous! I'm so happy for you too, of course, and that you got to meet them both!! Sounds like you had an excellent time!

I found out about the Q&A the other day and watched the whole thing on YouTube so I know exactly what you're talking about! All that info was so cool to hear; I knew Jesse had some input in what he'd managed to bring to the story and had my suspicions he'd fought for certain things (especially going green) but to hear just how much he'd been able to suggest and fight for and get into the show in some form or another was just mind blowing. I love when actors are so passionate about their characters and want to see them done justice on the screen.

The Brainy as a dad commentary had me cracking up too, I loved Nicole and Jesse joking about Brainy throwing their kid into the deep end and referring to them as acting like a "fourth level" intellect. 😂

And I died when Jesse started talking about how he'd not only pitched Nia's "death" but also his own "death". Like absolutely legendary behaviour. I would've loved to see them both play out honestly and I love that Nicole was just as enthusiastic about doing a death scene for her character as Jesse. They really do make a great team. 😂

That scene Jesse pitched of Brainy kissing Nia only to stab her and thereby reveal he's the evil!Brainy who's swapped places with her Brainy... *chef's kiss* levels of angst. Right up my alley. I'm half tempted to write the scene for myself. 😉

I would think it wouldn't be that hard bc he seems like the poster boy for what the average Tumblr user looks for in a celeb (especially a male)

idk if anyone still follows me from my days in the following fandom, back when my url was miikewestons, but the best thing happened yesterday… i met shawn ashmore!!! honestly one of the nicest celebs i’ve ever met at one of these cons. i was so nervous i thought i was gonna throw up but he was so, so sweet and put me right at ease. i actually don’t have the words to describe how amazing it was. he was so talkative to everyone who went up for his autograph and he was as talkative as he could be with us all being rushed through his photo ops. now i’m an even bigger fan than i was before and i’m off to rewatch the following 😂

I mean I live in London and visit Hampstead as my friends live close ish (Hendon) and one lives Finchley basically Hampstead so I meet them there almost 2/3 times a week. One has a job there in a cafe and none of us have ever met or seen Harry so I don’t know how some people claim to see him up to 4x a week… my friend has seen Lewis Capaldi there and that’s it for celebs even if a lot live there which they do. Hampstead is beautiful especially in warmer months like one of the nicest places to go (Im an anon from the other day that mentioned Lewis btw)

There was a fan encounter with Jensen and his family. The lady said that they were the nicest celebs he’s ever met. Considering she didn’t name his wife, she probably doesn’t consider her a celebrity (maybe a washed up one) but she said she was nice. I would be surprised if she wasn’t with their kids present, and she needs to be able to cancel out all of those multiple claims that she has been rude to fans because she’s too insecure about “her man” but will proclaim in the same sentence that he’s hers and that she’s lucky to have him. Anyway, I hope the kids are having a good time in California. I would’ve thought since they spent thanksgiving with her family, he would spend Christmas with his, but I guess he isn’t close with his family anymore.

Not surprised Elta is now going for sightings since her slacktivism didn't help shift her image. 🤣 The woman didn't take any pictures with Elta, did she? So can we even be sure she was there? What if Jensen was there with a nanny or another woman? 🤣

When I was a kid my Grandma took me to wait in line for 4 hous. With hundreds of other screaming children. I got to meet @jdfffn in real life. And I was terrified. This man crushed monsters with these arms and he was giving me a hug. When I went to my first @newyorkcomiccon We waited in line for a few hours. I bought a quick puffy muscle suited green ranger costume and I met him again. He was scheduled for an hour or two but his line stretched the entire hall several times bac and forth. He stayed something like 8 hours to meet everyone. No fan left without a smile. I had him sign the picture of the two of us from when I was a kid. As dumb as it was growing up I had three heros, Grandpa, Godzilla, And Tommy. As an adult I watched the this guy return to Power Rangers Again and Again to help bring smiles to fans everywhere who craved more of his character who had, by process of being in the franchise so long, have the most character development. We grew up with Tommy. We learned love and loss with Tommy. We watched Jason David Frank put in extra hours and effort to make every fan a fan for life. He was the nicest celeb you could meet, and one of the nicest people too. He gave to charity, and went around to do signings ad give away free merch to comic shops across the country during the pandemic when things looked grim for these small businesses. I cant say that I was his friend or that I knew him well. But man does it suck to see him go. I'm emotional not over the fictional character, but the man who did more than bring him to life, he brought real smiles to real people. He made real people happy not just as a character throwing jump kicks at rubber monsters, but as a man who did everything he could to bring that character to you in real life and on screen.

Rest in Power Jason David Frank. You made me a huge #PowerRangers fan. But more importantly you made us all smile. Standing up to bullies and bring joy to people is the best way to honor him today.

Abrogail LOVES sweets more than anything. Her nickname is The Marchpane Maiden because she's of the opinion that everything tastes better made into little figurines. But she loves berry tarts, and candied lemon peels, and cakes.

She loves misty days, when everything smells of petrichor and she has all the excuses to snuggle up in all her warm things and no one can complain to her about it.

She also really enjoys studying herbal medicine. Lyonel went to the Citadel, and she loved going through his old books of plant identification (and also like, this was a think ladies of noble houses also did???) and while she doesn't have a green thumb, she doesn't always kill everything. She dislikes… fuck what does she not like. Spiders. Like, big spiders. Helaena had a huge fucking spider that escaped its pen and that thing was the stuff of nightmares. Abby is afraid of thunderstorms. The really big super loud that you think it's going to shake your house down kind of storms. It's the loud sounds I think most that what scare her. She also isn't a huge fan of being alone in the dark? And so she tends to be a light sleeper.

Harwin was her favorite person. Out of all her half siblings, Harwin was always the nicest and kindest to her. He was also very much around, and never made her feel bad for wanting to follow him or ask him questions - Lyonel and Harwin are very similar to this. He definitely would listen to her when she needed help, play games with her when he could, and was really just A+ big brother.

I have a question

I've been a fan of Chris for a few years. I came in right after he and Jenny broke up the final time. I've met some amazing people through the fandom and I've had great fun.

I know this shit with Alba is happening. No matter what any of us want- this is happening. While it does make me nervous it's not to the point of affecting my mental health. I did that with Seb's shitshow for nearly two years. I will not go back to that mental state over a celeb. But Fucking hell!

My question is this- are you still a fan? I want to be. I really do. I'm still excited for some of his upcoming projects and I still want to support him.

But I can't stand Alba. She's so transparent in how she acts and carries herself. Plus all the trolling, the sugar baby account and the Lolita nickname? Gross! And that's the nicest word I have for her right now- gross! I hate to say it but she reminds me a lot of Ale (Seb's shitshow). Though, right now she has done a lot less trolling than Ale.

I'm also feeling like... I don't want anything bad to happen to him. I know recently a lot of this is of his making. He doubled down for no fucking reason (I do think some of it is PR because the timing is too convenient. But it's not all PR). But i can't help but worry about him a bit. How stupid is that?!

I just... I'm still a seb fan but, to me, he's different. I've been a fan of Seb since the Covenant. Seb is my guy lol.

Chris is a close second. While I don't believe this will last, and I'm hoping it's short lived, I have a bad feeling.

I'm sorry this is long. But I've been lurking here and a few other blogs for a while. I'm going to send this to the other blogs just to get some opinions because I feel like all of you are level headed about this but will be honest as well. No one has to answer my ask. I just... want to feel I'm not alone in not supporting alba or this relationship but still caring and supporting Chris. Though, again, this is all of his making at this point. So I'm completely aware and accept that he is not innocent by any means in this and he's a dumbass for bringing this on himself and his family.

I don’t get invested in my faves private lives because that’s exactly what they are… private. I obviously don’t know Sam at all but most stuff I have heard about him is overwhelmingly positive. One of my old mutuals from off here told me about a couple of times that she’s met Sam and he sounds like an absolute sweetheart. Whether or not he’s cheated on his gf or even if he has a gf is no one’s else’s business but his. And if he likes hot girls pics on ig then good for him! My bf follows loads of sexy girls on there and it doesn’t bother me one bit!

Everyone is entitled to think what they like about people of course, it’s a free country. Personally though I try not to judge too harshly based on gossip xxx
