firstly, its adorable. look at arthur holding merlin's legs out of the way. its so typical for him to instinctually throw out an arm of Protection for his beloved manservant.

secondly, its fucking hilarious. whats this goofy position they've desperately rolled into so they dont get trampled by a rampaging beast. merlin is basically upside down and believe it or not gwaine is also back there somewhere

Currently going insane over the phrase "down for the count".

A character who is notorious for not sleeping enough. Maybe they're the team leader who insists everyone else sleeps first. Maybe they always take the night watch after being awake all day. Maybe they simply can't sleep, whatever trauma buried in their brain too loud to silence.

Either way, it's well known they only get maybe a few hours a night if they're lucky, and it's bound to catch up to them.

Soon enough, they're finally forced to slow down - due to an injury, illness, or simply collapsing from exhaustion.

The caretaker watches over them as they make up for what is sure to be an incredible sleep deficit. And eventually, their breathing completely evens out, sleeping deeply for the first time in who knows how long.

"They're completely down for the count."

(Bonus points for the caretaker who is just so relieved that the whumpee is finally, finally sleeping. They've watched the whumpee work themselves into the ground for far too long - they deserve some actual rest.)

FOR THE STORY I'LL NEVER WRITE-

AU where Qilby comes back to life 2 years after the end of season 4.

HEADCANON :

He doesn't remember anything of his past lives until he's 5 - 6 years old. Not only because it sounds weird to have a very old soul trapped in a baby/toddler body (Even thought it could be funny at some point.) But also imagine the drama potential of a scene where a wild child suddenly remembers thousands years of studies, conflicts, wars, family issues, relatives deaths, being killed in the most brutal way sometimes, horribles things he did, a constant misunderstanding, and most of all, a terrible, deep and terrifying, solitude. In a few seconds only.

My idea is that he lives for a few years with Chibi, Grougal and Shinonome at Alibert's until this event. He calls this few years of peace the "Dormant period" (Despite the many nightmares, reminiscent panic attacks and anger crisis he has, sequels of his past lives.) He's a sassy little guy with a bright mind.

Then the "Break" happens. It can occurs at any moment around his 5- 6 birthday. A violent wave of souvenirs that let him empty and melancholic for a long time. Then... Qilby is just... Qilby.

Whatever he does then, it depends of the plot I didn't write but oh, I want to share more about it.
