What I Thought About the First Season of--

Salutations random people on the internet who most likely won’t read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons.

When I first saw the sneak peek of--

...I...didn't...think it would be anything all that special. I love animation, and I love superheroes, so it would go without saying that I would love an animated series about superheroes. But the animation looked a little too stiff for my liking, and aside from featuring J.K. Simmons, there wasn't anything grabbing me when it comes to this show.

Then I heard some s**t goes down at the end of episode one. So, letting my curiosity get the better of me, I binged the entire series in a day to see what the fuss was about. And, um...Yeah. Holy s**t.

This is a series that will very much make you uncomfortable in all the right ways. However, it is a gigantic gorefest at times, so if you get queasy after a single drop of blood, DON'T WATCH THIS SHOW! Trust me, you will not be prepared for what this series has to offer.

At the same time, I highly recommend you watch this series before reading this review. I'm going to spoil major plot points and characters so I can appropriately discuss what I think about the season, so trust me when I say you should click away if you haven't watched it yet. It's one of those series that are better to go in as blind as possible. You can call it a cheap way to appeal to shock value, but I call it one of the best reasons why--

...Is a contender for best-animated series of the decade--That bit with the title card isn't going away anytime soon, is it?

WHAT I LIKE

The Guardians of the Globe vs. The Mauler Twins: This is the best possible way for the series to begin. The first fight scene is bright, colorful, and kinda fun. Thus setting the ultimate expectation subversion in making audiences think that will be the series staple. However, just because it has the energy of a harmless superhero fight, there is a sense of intensity as the Guardians give their all in saving others. Like that moment with Darkwing (Not the duck) as he rescues that woman without hesitation, despite knowing he might die because of it. Or Green Ghost, who just barely rescues all those civilians from that falling debris. It shows that you don't need intense scenes of violence to make a fight scene thrilling to watch.

Diversity Wins: I don't know how diverse the comics are compared to the show, but I'm impressed with how inclusive this series is. So many members of the main cast are people of color, with the main lead being half-Korean. And it's not just different races that the series shines a light on, as we also get the rare, but very much welcomed, animated male gay character. Who's thankfully isn't cliched in ten ways to Sunday...for the most part. It really does seem like writers are starting to grow up and that it's better to be as inclusive as possible instead of pretending certain people don't exist for the sake of "convenience." It might not solve oppression in general, but it certainly makes certain people feel better, even if it is briefly.

Mark Grayson: Mark is a pretty solid super-protagonist if you ask me. Sure, at first, he comes across as whiney...and even more so in later episodes, but he's really an endearing character at times. Mark nails the role of the relatable everyman that's also inspirational with his determination since he never gives up until beaten to the inch of his life. Seriously, while he might not entirely be--

...I guess that bit with the title card really isn't going away.

Anyways, while he might not entirely be invulnerable in the literal sense, he is very much so in the figurative sense. Mark, in so many ways, refuses to call quits once he finally gets the hang of being a superhero, which is what makes him so inspirational. Plus, it's funny seeing how much of a rookie he can be to the gig at times. Mark is far from a perfect lead but is still charming to a fault, and it's nice seeing him grow more heroic each episode. I hope to see him develop more in future seasons, as he has the potential to be ranked higher up as one of my favorite superheroes (it's hard to compete with Spider-Man and Batman, but he'll make me consider it).

Debbie Grayson: This is almost what I expect a mother and wife of superheroes would be.

Your son is constantly crash landing in your yard? Tell him to knock it off because he's past his curfew.

Your husband disappeared into another dimension to fight off invaders? Shrug it off and expect that he'll be late for dinner.

It's a ton of fun to watch, and I adore how supportive she is of Mark, despite how much danger he could be in as a superhero. But, what really endears me with Debbie is her complicated feelings with Omni-Man. There's not a doubt in my mind that she loved him with her whole heart, but she also isn't an idiot. She is quick to pick up how unheroic her husband can be at times, often scolding him for it when necessary. And when she finally starts investigating if he really did kill the Guardians, I love that she instantly comes up with every single plausible excuse she can, despite knowing the truth. Because she believes that she knows who Omni-Man is and refuses any possibility that he might be a supervillain. So when she finds out that there really is no other explanation and hearing him call her a pet (big ouch when that happened), you wanna know what she does? She cries. Not because the man she loved is gone forever, but because the idea of him is. And it's that level of emotional devastation that comes from those complicated emotions that make me think Debbie Grayson is the most complex and endearing character on the show. And I. Will. Stand by that.

Seeing the Guardians of the Globe on their down time: Wow, what a cute collection of scenes that are charming as much as they are heartwarming! A set of scenes that show how human these characters are with their close relationships with friends and family! I sure hope it's not followed up with a brutal emotional gut-punch of a scene that will be even more devastating after thinking back on these! Especially with that bit with Martian Man and the little girl, cause OOO-WEE, would THAT tear me up inside!

Omni Man destroying the Guardians of the Globe:...I'd follow through on my joke here, but holy s**t.

That's really the best way I can describe all of this. It is a brutal, I repeat, BRUTAL scene that will stick with you hours after watching it. Not only that, but it's one of the few instances when I was damn near speechless because I couldn't think of anything else to say other than, "Holy s**t." The only time another superhero property did that was Avengers: Infinity War, except with that, the only difference is that the characters come back. Here, except for The Immortal, the Guardians stay dead! There's no magic amulet or alternate versions from another dimension. No, they die and never come back. Thus setting up how serious the show can be. Because if these superheroes can stay dead, then so can others.

Plus, what makes it more impactful is how throughout the entire fight, there was a glimpse of hope that the Guardians can beat Omni-Man. I heard he got nerfed for the sake of drama, and I approve of that decision. Because if he was really--

...If he was really unbeatable, then the fight doesn't have weight to it. There wouldn't be a point in rooting for these characters to win when we already know they're going to lose. But, by showing there's a chance that they could win, it becomes all the more intense watching the fight and even more tragic seeing them lose. It is a masterpiece of a battle that proves once and for all: Batman is right. You need contingency plans.

Omni Man: J. Jonah Jameson has become the one thing he hates the most: A masked MENACE...Ok, I know Omni-Man doesn't wear a mask, so the joke doesn't work as well as it could. But it was served to me on a silver platter, damn it! I had to take it!

In all seriousness, though, Omni-Man might give Homelander a run for his money on best evil Superman. Because while Homelander might be terrifying in his own right with his style of evil, Omni-Man takes it a step up a notch with the mystery behind WHY he killed the Guardians of the Globe. We know right away that there's something off with him, but up until that point, we see multiple instances of Omni-Man doing the right thing rather than the wrong. Sure, he might come off as cold when interacting with people, but so does Batman and other great superheroes in comics. That doesn't mean he's evil. So when he does do something so incredibly heinous, we're left with this mystery as to why. Because there has to be a reason for it all, right? Like, maybe mind control or his family was threatened. Something and anything that means he was forced into killing the noblest of people. So when it turns out that his actions were intentional, it is already pretty devastating. But when we find out why he does these things, it paints how truly evil Omni-Man is, given how little respect he has for human life.

Plus, as terrifying as Homelander is, Omni-Man is ten times more of an engaging villain. With Homelander, what you see is what you get: A narcissist with a god complex. For Omni-Man, it's more or less the same thing, but it's something fed to him because of the conditioning from his planet. There is a tiny, molecule-sized part of him that genuinely cares about others. It doesn't change what he does, nor does it mean he deserves forgiveness (far from it), but it hints that maybe he's not evil because of his own ego. It's because of how he's trained to be. And judging by his pained expressions from Mark's words and the single tear he sheds when leaving everything behind, there's a chance that he might be willing to fight back that mentality.

Or he will stay evil, and that he'll return to do worse things in the future. I don't know. I haven't read the comics. But I feel like I don't need to read anything to tell you all that Omni-Man is up there as one of the most intriguing comic book villains of all time, and I can't wait to see what happens with him next.

This show is f**king Violent: I mean, I refer you back to that scene where Omni-Man destroys the Guardians of the Globe. But, unlike other shows that use violence to force that mature rating, I feel as though In--

...Title card. You were cute the first time, but now your novelty has quickly worn thin.

Anyways, I feel as though this show...uses gore more appropriately. More often than not, death and carnage get treated as a literal joke in adult cartoons because people are sick bastards, I guess. But with...the current series I'm talking about, it all has an impact. No one dies or gets mangled for the sake of shock value or for a laugh. Instead, every instance of this type of violence is to either make a point, set the tone, or prove just how dangerous a specific character is. It makes...the series more mature than most adult cartoons you'll find because it actually brings a worthy discussion for its violence rather than milking it to give the illusion of maturity. And I gotta respect the writers for doing that.

Cecil: This man is basically Nick Fury if he was overpowered but in a good way. There is just something about a man who knows superheroes are needed in the world but also trusts a "hero" like Omni-Man as far as he can throw him. Not only does Cecil have contingency plans for his contingency plans, but the guy also knows to send the right heroes out for the exact missions that require them. Plus, a man is an instant badass when he's stone-faced about a demon saying he'll go somewhere worse than hell and is calm when being face-to-face with an angry Omni-Man.

I don't make the rules. I just abide by them.

The title card gets bloodier with each episode: This is just a really cool gimmick. It proves how intense this show can really be and how the stakes get higher and higher with each installment. Also, I like to think the amount of blood that splashes over the title card reflects how brutal the episode will be, especially with episode eight, 'cause holy hell.

The plot structure: The way the story works is very similar to how a comic book series handles its overarching narrative. Even though the writers begin a new arc that continues for a handful of issues, the overall main plot still develops in the background of the current adventure the hero goes through. That's basically how--

That's basically how THIS SHOW operates. Each episode can be seen as its own story that's given a ton of room to develop with its forty-five-minute runtime (which blew my f**king mind when I started binging it). Despite that, there's still a great sense of continuity. Everything involving Omni-Man and the mystery behind his murder of the Guardians gets fleshed out throughout the season, even when it takes the background of Mark's escapades. It really does feel like sitting down and taking the time to read an entire volume of comics, which I like to believe is the intention. After all, what's the point of making a series about superheroes if you don't make it feel like a comic book at least once?

Dark Blood: I desire a series based on this character alone. I know it's probably just Hellboy, but I want it.

The idea of a demon solving murder crimes to work off his debt in Hell is too much of a remarkable concept to strictly be a c-plot in one series. Give Dark Blood a spin-off, damn it!

The Realistic Portrayal of a Superhero world: Unlike certain superhero properties--*cough* DC *cough*--it's--

It's. This. F**KING. SHOW! That really does an excellent job at portraying how much it would suck to live in a world of superheroes. Sure, you got the cool battles and awe-inspiring heroes with incredible powers, but do you know what else you get? Hundreds upon thousands of people dying from the very threats those heroes fight against. Not to mention all the realistic physics that come from people like Mark trying to save others. Just look at how mangled that old woman looked when he attempted to help her. It, uh...It sure did not look great. Don't get me wrong, I love superheroes and the worlds they live in. But when watching a show like...this one, it really makes me appreciate how I don't live in those worlds with them.

It’s Still Funny: This is something I appreciate the most. When most superhero shows go for the realistic approach, they go with the doom and gloom route, making everything so melodramatic about how serious the world is. But here's the thing: Superheroes are f**king stupid.

Don't tell me they're not because they are. Superheroes have cornball hero names, bright costumes, and logos on their foreheads, chests, belts, and what-have-you. Taking a superhero too seriously is the worst mistake you could make, which is why I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Say what you want about Marvel having "too many jokes," but at least they know it's for the best to laugh at themselves and embrace the weirdness. It's something similar with...you know what. Because while the series tells a serious and realistic story about superheroes, it's still a story about superheroes. So it tells some jokes and some pretty funny ones at that. Because while it's essential to include some drama in a story such as the one in...you know what, it's just as important to never forget to have some fun.

“Earth is not yours to conquer.”: Such a great line that gains an even greater meaning once we fully know who Omni-Man is. The main creditor for how effective it is goes to J.K. Simmons for making the line sound explicit yet implicit at the same time.

Allen the Alien: ...It is an absolute crime that this character only has about six minutes of screentime. Allen is such a bro, partially because of Seth Rogan's performance, that I would honestly be upset if he doesn't show up more often in later seasons. Seriously, bring him back for more.

The Mauler Twins: Thankfully, these characters get as much attention as they deserve. The banter between the Mauler Twins is always entertaining, often being the comedic highlights at times. On top of being funny, they also work as efficient villains who can come across as threatening at times.

But what I love most of all about these two is the explanation behind the cloning process. The reasoning of why neither character remembers which one is the cone is a brilliant idea that I'm surprised no one else did in the past (to my knowledge). It also provides some excellent fruit for thought in wondering if it really is better to live your life not knowing if you're a clone or not. The whole thing is great to watch, and it makes me really glad for their inclusion...too bad they had to be forced into a story that makes a character look like a reckless superhero and an inconsiderate jackass to his friend. Seriously, what was up with that?

“That Actually Hurt”: This just might be my favorite episode of the first season. Machine Head is both equally hilarious and devious, Titan might just be my favorite character due to how intriguing his allegiances and motivations are, that final fight was the perfect amount of brutal, and we get the biggest hint of the man Omni-Man really is. Having him simply watching Mark instead of flying in to help him actually shocked me the first time seeing it. It's not until we learn what a Viltrumite really is that it becomes clear as to why. He doesn't care about saving his son but instead seeing Mark reach the same potential Omni-Man did during that smash fest the planet went through to reach perfection. And something tells me he felt more disappointment than sadness after seeing his son get nearly killed by Tony the Tiger (I know he has an actual name...but this is funnier to me). It's such a solid moment with great implications that just so happens to exist in an even greater episode.

Eve deciding to just help people for the heck of it: I actually love this idea more for the potential it has rather than what actually happens so far. Because the main reason why heroes don't fly around and solve every little minute problem people have is that they need to learn how to act without help. If you suddenly make food appear out of thin air or stopping forest fires, you're doing good, but there's also potential harm that comes from it. I think back to that episode of The Powerpuff Girls, where the townspeople are so idiotic and complacent with having their heroes solve every problem that they really can't think or act for themselves. A similar thing can happen with Eve if she's not careful. Even worse, if she keeps trying to end famine for farmers, because she might get into a Supergirl situation with people building a cult around her. And, you know, that's not going to be fun.

But again, that's just the potential that this presents. We--Or the people who haven't read the comics--don't know if Eve will actually face this issue. Regardless, we still get some solid moments that proves just how much Eve is a true hero in this series as she has no other motive to help people other than she just wants to. And I actually think that's pretty cool.

The Immortal’s rematch: I gotta hand it to the guy. Not a second after being brought back to life, and The Immortal's already flying off to get revenge on the bastard who killed his closest friends in the world. Or, globe, I guess.

I respect that, to be honest.

(As a bonus, The Immortal causing Omni-Man's eyes to become bloodshot adds to how evil he'll be in the last episode)

Mark trying to snap his dad out of mind-control: Oh, I felt that.

I'm pretty sure we all felt that.

Ow...Big ow.

The Train Scene: ...This is the most horrific thing I have seen in entertainment. Seriously, while Omni-Man annihilating the Guardians left me speechless, this is another level. Because him using Mark's body to kill a train full of people ramming into them, leaving Mark all the more helpless to stop it, makes a scene that is so...so hard for me to describe how effectively f**ked up it is. It's one of those moments where just by seeing it, you know why it's awful in all the right ways. And I will never forget the look of shock and horror on my face when it reflected onto my laptop's screen after the scene briefly cut to black soon after the carnage. Because if that doesn't explain how unmerciful this moment is, I don't know what will.

Saving Mark after the fight: I really love this because as it flashes between still images of people carrying Mark away after his brutal fight with Omni-Man, it really feels like you're reading a comic from panel to panel. It’s pretty neat. I won’t lie.

WHAT I DISLIKE

The Animation isn’t that great: Now, in terms of action, the animation is fantastic. You feel the impact of each attack, there are some creative uses of powers, and the gore is better implemented because it's all animated. As for everything else...yeah, it kinda sucks. Movements are a little stiff at times, the CGI backgrounds could use a bit more polish, and don't get me started on the CGI crowds of people. I understand the shortcuts that need to be taken to make everything else more effective, but man, this series needed a little more time in the oven before being shown to everyone. It's never too bad, but it can be pretty distracting at times.

Amber: F**k Amber. Just f**k her. Everything people tell you that is wrong with her is one-hundred percent on point. She is easily one of the worst love interests, and to me, it has everything to do with the fact that she knows Mark is--

...That she knows Mark is--

...

...ThatsheknowsMarkisInvinci--

--BECAUSE IT INVALIDATES ANY POINT SHE HAS, GOSH DANGIT! I don't give a single S**T if she's upset that he's late all the time! If Amber was always unaware of it, then I would understand. But having her know means that she thinks her issues are more important than Mark, oh, I don't know, SAVING THE PLANET! I mean, the girl helps feed the homeless! You would think she would understand.

But fine. Maybe Amber's just upset that Mark's lying to her. Sure. That's understandable...BUT WHAT THE F**K IS UP WITH HER BLOWING UP IN HIS FACE FOR NOT HELPING ANYBODY AT THE COLLEGE WHEN SHE KNOWS HE'S HELPING EVERYBODY!? Even if it's her giving Mark one last chance to tell her the truth (which is a mile of a stretch, and you know it), did she really expect him to reveal his secret with tons of people watching? That is a crazy expectation that no one should live up to!

Amber is quite possibly the worst thing about this show. She was fine at first, and her chemistry with Mark was on point, but MAN, did she get worse later on.

And if I see one mother f**ker calling me a racist because I don't like this character who just so happens to be black...I'm going to be upset, not gonna lie. Because that is a cheap shot to dismiss any criticism, especially since her race has NOTHING to do with why people hate her...Or, at least, most people.

Edit (5/27/2021): Disregard the above. The long and short is that I don’t like Amber. She just doesn’t sit right with me for the reasons that her anger towards Mark just never felt entertaining to me in comparision to everything else. But saying her thoughts and arguements are invalid is not cool, and I’m sorry to both any readers who are black or especially female who would be upset by this.

Rex-splode: I understand the point behind Rex. He's a character who we're supposed to hate, so it becomes so much more satisfying seeing others s**t on him. But those characters are hard to get right if you’re not careful. Make them too irritating, then any suffering they go through will seem too little. Make them not annoying enough, and their punishments can be too harsh. Rex fits into the "too irritating" category. It's satisfying to see Monster Girl wreck his s**t after he started commenting how ineffective she might be, but with what he pulled with Dupli-Kate, I feel as though he might deserve worse. Although I will admit Rex gets slightly better in later episodes, showing at least a smidgen of character development. But I don't think it's enough to make his a**holeness worth it. Still, I hope he at least becomes above decent in the next few seasons, which is way more than what I can say for Amber.

(Seriously, writers, if she just disappears without an ounce of an explanation in the season premiere, I won't question it. You have my word.)

Let’s move on

Transitioning to the title card: Here it is! The nitpickiest of all nitpicks! But, seeing how it happens in every episode, meaning that the writers have no choice but to commit to it, means it's one of those things that viewers are forced to get used to. And boy, is the transition to the title card hard to get used to! Oh, you thought it was annoying how it kept happening in this review? Well...fair enough. But trust me when I say it's much more aggravating in the show.

The funny thing is, I had no problem the first time it happened. It was a cute way to introduce the character as well as the title of the series. But having that be the basis for transitioning to the title card every time was a gimmick that got old real quick. Especially since every time that a character says the word--

--it always feels forced. What's even more annoying is that sometimes it interrupts characters as they're saying invin--

LIKE! F**KING! THAT! Because interrupting someone before they say something is one thing, but doing so as they're saying it shows a sense of bad timing. Not even that, because this is something that I feel like could have been the easiest to change in the series by having someone go, "Hey, maybe we should edit out this single second."

It's laziness that doesn't happen often, but it still grinds my gears a bit. Plus, is there really no other smoother transition the writers could come up with? Did they really believe this is the best way to do it?

Think, writers! THINK!

It's fine to have a gimmick, but this is one that really shouldn't have any follow-through on.

That's about all the issues I have with the show. It's far from perfect, but still, an A- is pretty impressive work. The stuff that this series does right not only outnumbers the mistakes but also heavily outweighs them. Besides, no show in the history of creativity has ever been perfect in its first season. There are always dents that need to get buffed out and improve upon for the subsequent seasons to come. Only then can a series truly be Invincible from all criticism.

Barked at people in high school ironically but it became unironic real quick

Can’t cook very well but is good with a knife, especially at a fast pace

One of those kids who either purposely spells the first word wrong in a spelling bee to just be done with it right away or tries the hardest and manages to win (there is no inbetween for this heathen)

Has snorted pixie stix far too many times and sneezed blue after each time

Will flirt with anything that moves but has no idea how to respond to compliments

Makes fun of himself first before anyone else can

Has eaten an orange peel and it wasn’t that bad in his humble opinion

Eats the wax part of the baby bell cheese

Doesn’t actually know what genre his music taste is cause he vibes to everything

Picks at the skin on his lip when it’s dry so it bleeds and he tries not to give in by licking his lips often enough to the point where it became a habit

Wears velcro shoes because he doesn’t feel like tying them (he knows how, he just doesn’t wanna do it)

Eats peanut butter straight from the jar

Makes that disgusting “ants on a log” thing (celery stick filled with peanut butter topped with a row of raisins)

Can’t drink milk plain, it’s gotta have some sort of flavour

Can draw a perfect straight line but his circles look Terrible

Eats cheez-its like cereal without milk

Loves making little noises so much like he walks around his house doin chores and he’s just goin “memememenownownwnkwkshskshkshskhs”

Hates wearing socks

Coloured his tongue with highlighters because they’re non-toxic

Constantly tapping his feet and hands to a song/beat playing in his head

I can’t imagine this man using a bike of any sort, so Imma say he doesn’t know how

Can’t be licked by dogs because he’s used to being licked by his cat so it makes him uncomfortable

Can actually sing pretty well but gets real nervous in front of people so he fucks it up

No idea how to cook anything other than Mac and cheese please help this man

Meows at cats because he wants to confuse them and laughs Way too hard when he does (his laugh is like sunshine so I’ll allow it)

Cederic Beumont

Cederic Beumont is a French artist (and prostitute) turned mad scientist throughout multiple events happening in his early adulthood. He is the oldest twin out of him and his sister, Cassandra, and the two of them were raised by their single father in a small village in France. After the death of their father by the age of twenty, Cederic and his sister travel around Europe until they move to America, where they lived for five years. During those five years, Cederic and Cassandra-- previously inseparable-- have a falling out which ends in Cederic storming out and leaving Cassandra to run the hotel they had set up on the coast of Florida. The falling out, combined with a lot of other stressful and dramatic things happening around him, manages to make Cederic’s mental health crumble until he practically goes insane. Previously an artist, Cederic turns to science in hopes of being able to achieve something that would make him “more” than his sister, who always has been the “smarter” one out of the two of them, which ends up in him studying Frankenstein’s life like the Holy Bible. He gets obsessed with the study of lightning and he gets obsessed with the idea to one-up God, as he previously had been born and raised Catholic, and he feels like he would be able to do everything that Frankenstein failed to do (take care of Creature, own up to the responsibilities, keep the innocent safe, etc) despite having no proof of him being able to do everything differently.

With the help of his boyfriend, Wilhelm, and Wilhelm's biology studying friends, he manages to continue his experiments. He moves between calling himself a Fulminologic Necromancer and a Necromantic Fulminologist, depending on the people he surrounds himself with, as he studies lightning as a whole and applies the knowledge to necromancy. His early experiments involves reviving dead animals with the use of electricity, although he does dabble in alchemy and chemistry when it’s needed.

Around the time he is 30 years old, he hears the word upon the street about the Society For Arcane Sciences in London, England. His boyfriend helps him scrap in enough money for a one-way ticket to London on the promise that they will still hold contact, to which Cederic immediately agrees. He travels to London by ship and marvels over how fantastically dirty and gross the entire city is, there is slums everywhere! So many animals and mythical creatures!! The moment he is within the city walls, he manages to find Sergeant Enoch Brokenshire and pleads for him to show Cederic the way to the Society. Brokenshire is, of course, very put off by this hyper-energetic bastard he can barely hear over his (normally trained away) french accent, but Brokenshire does not get paid enough to care. He basically just grabs Cederic by the collar and drags him like a stray cat over to the Society and to Dr. Henry Jekyll’s office, to which he basically dumps him on the doorstep and leaves. As Jekyll practically collects scientists, and as they already have a necromancer in the Society, Jekyll welcomes Cederic with open arms and shows him around, unaware how Cederic... is an actual mad scientist, not just using that word as a moniker.

Cederic quickly becomes friends with Sinnett and Luckett, all three of them having a knack to blow things up and play with fire. Cederic also loves to harass Tanis, the local necromancer, as he loves that they practically study the same thing and did you know this and that and wouldn’t it be cool to blow up a corpse? You know Moreau might actually have been onto something with the animals and yadeyadeyada-- Tanis does not like Cederic. Cederic thinks that they are best friends.

Cederic joins the Society sometime before the events of TGS, however, immediately jumps all over both Jasper and Frankenstein like a yappy dog excited to have new friends. He is absolutely in love with Frankenstein, much like everyone else, but quickly has a change of heart as he feels she is a wimp, because he could do this and that so much better and why would you do x y and z when you could have done a b c instead. He has a massive ‘R.I.P to them but I’m different’ complex and feels like Frankenstein can’t own up to her work and her legendary image like she should. He thinks he can one-up her, and basically tries to snatch her stuff and studies when she isn’t looking. Creature would very much like to bonk him over the head with a frying pan.

Cederic also has a pet ghost cat-- or more or less spirit cat as she has never actually been alive-- that he has had since he was a baby. He named her Adelaide-Antoinette because he is french and extra like that, and the two of them are actually inseparable, as Adelaide is connected to Cederic through a bunch of magical hijinx. Adelaide can talk to Cederic, however, no one else can hear or see her, making most people think that Cederic is genuinely insane as he is not afraid to walk around talking to himself. The only one who knows about Adelaide is Maijabi, who saw her in one of his ghost mirrors one time, but he thinks its fun to see the other Lodgers thinking that Cederic is insane, so he doesn’t say anything.

Random Trivia: Cederic is originally my DND character, played in a specific type of campaign called Scion. It takes place in the real life world, and our campaign is set during the 1960′s if WW2 had never ended. Cederic and Cassandra were originally forced to flee by the outbreak of the war and the invasions of France. Scion is also based on mythologies, were the player characters (the Scions) are children of the ancient gods. Cassandra and Cederic are children of the egyptian god Bastet, ergo, the ghost cats.

Adelaide-Antoinette

Adelaide-Antoinette is a spirit and companion cat connected to Cederic. She has been by Cederic’s side for as long as he can remember and her, her sass, and her snobbishness were many of the core influences that shaped Cederic into the person he was before his mental breakdown he is today.

Adelaide is a Birman and lives up to the snobbish reputations of such breeds. When she is particularly feisty, she likes to sit on top of Cederic’s head and use him as her steed, and also loves to call him a peasant. She is also very territorial, and very protective of Cederic too. She is basically the epitome of “No one is allowed to bully him but me”. She is also very vocal and loves to have Cederic seem like he is talking to himself. Cederic has a knack to recite Hamlet and other Shakespeare plays to her, and while it’s fun for him, Adelaide wish she could bite his tongue off after the 10th recitation. After so many years, the recites might be up in the thousands.

Adelaide also did not like all the other creatures in the Society immediately, but quickly realized that it was either them or Cederic forever, to which she quickly began to force herself to warm up to them. Her favourite is Jasper’s unicorn, who most likely share her snobbishness, but a close second is Zosi and Griffin’s cat. When she is particularly mad at Cederic, as he tends to neglect her a little once he gets caught up in his work, she likes to hang around Maijabi as he is the only other living person who can see her. Cederic also uses her to spy on the others sometimes, as she can go through walls and can’t be seen.

Collin O’Jekyll

Collin O’Jekyll is Henry Jekyll’s “paternal uncle” and also his make-shift father. Collin and Henry loved each other from day one and the two of them often spend most of their free time in the pastures with Collin’s horses. Collin is an artist, who dabbles in both writing and art, but mainly breeds and sells horses for income, despite not really needing it due to his inheritance. He has always been supportive of Henry’s scientific interests and was the one to take him out to all of the scientific plays that Henry watched as a child, as his parents were less than supportive of the boy’s interests. While mainly breeding and raising horses, Collin also buys and takes care of every animal he can get his hands on. One of his oldest pets is a male calico Maine Coon named Paddington, who got dumped by his breeder for being male. All of Collin’s animals seem to hate everyone but him, and of course, Henry. Collin also bred and gifted Henry his own horse once he turned 15; a dapple grey Clydesdale named Mayhem, named after her fiery temper. Much like Paddington, she hates everyone but her owner.

Random Trivia: Collin has a very weak immune system and therefore always wears a scarf, no matter the season or weather. He also knows how to sword fight and taught Henry a few tricks before he left Scotland. He is mainly a very cheerful and optimistic guy but won’t hesitate to throw hands if you try to hurt those he loves.

Douglas O’Jekyll

Douglas O’Jekyll is Henry’s “biological” father and Collin’s older brother, but dislikes his role as both father and brother. He is a policeman and known for his ruthlessness and hatred for those he deems have done wrong, and he also has a massive superiority complex. He has always disliked Collin greatly and the two of them have always had a rivalry between them, however, that rivalry got to it’s boiling point when Douglas and Collin were in an accident as kids, mainly caused by Collin unintentionally during a riding trip in the Highlands, which made Douglas earn some of his scars and bred the resentment between the two of them even more. Douglas has always been disapproving of Henry’s... Well, he has always been majorly disapproving with anything that comes to Henry. He dislikes Henry’s love for his uncle, his scientific interests, Henry’s friends, his wish to become a doctor... Douglas dislikes pretty much everything with Henry, which might have its grounds in Henry looking like and taking after a lot from his uncle. As Henry grows older, Douglas’ dislike for both him and Collin grows stronger, and Douglas starts getting outspoken of his hatred for Henry. He also gets physical every once in a while, which was one of the reasons for why Henry left Scotland completely despite Collin doing his best to protect him.

Random Trivia: His scars are either from the Accident, from his work as a policeman and also from many of Collin’s animals. He has a family pedant made out of emerald with a ‘J’ for Jekyll in it, as he is the first born and the heir of the family. He has always felt like Collin was the favourite with everything, both by their parents and by the fact that Douglas’ own son and wife likes Collin more than him, which just bred his resentment for his younger brother even more.

Abigail O’Jekyll (Née O’Haggins)

Abigail is Henry’s mother and Douglas’ wife. She comes from a long line of Scottish non-aristocratic nobles and she is the oldest out of six sisters, making her the main heir of the O’Haggins as she has no brothers. In her youth, she was very sought after by many bachelors, and met the O’Jekyll brothers during a ball hosted by her parents. She immediately took a liking to Collin and during the dances, they fell quite in love. However, as the first born, she was forced to marry Douglas instead due to pressuring from her parents who deemed Douglas more worthy than Collin, but she and Collin continued their relationship in secret. Both Douglas and Abigail knows that neither really loves the other all that much but they play their parts due to societal expectations, even if that doesn’t make Douglas any happier when the suspicion of Abigail’s and Collin’s relationships arise. Abigail is, too, not very supportive of Henry’s scientific interests due to all of its stigma and consequences that it can bear, not to mention that she is quite afraid of Douglas’ reactions to Henry’s continuous love for science, but she allows Henry to pursue non-harmful studies in secret to keep him happy, as his happiness is the most important thing for her. She does her best to be a good mother and succeeds in that, although everyone has their bad moments. Random Trivia: While Henry looks more like Douglas and Collin, Hyde takes after Abigail’s side of the family. She wears a locket with an ‘A’ on it with a picture of Collin and Henry inside, which needs a lock to be opened (mostly to keep Douglas from discovering the photo). While she is indifferent to most animals, she loves cats (that are well behaved, which rules out all of Collin’s cats) and she likes horses, although she will never, ever ride one ever again after she fell into a hay bail when Collin tried to get her to ride one of his horses. Paddington

Paddington is one of Collin’s most beloved cats. He is a male, calico coated Maine Coon that got dumped by his breeder for being a male calico (therefore, sterile). He lived in the streets for a while until Collin found and adopted him, to which Paddington immediately became a little diva who hates everyone but Collin and Henry. He is the cause of some of Douglas’ scars and have torn more than one of Abigail’s dresses, but is as good as gold to Collin and Henry.

Mayhem

Mayhem is Henry’s own horse that Collin bred and helped Henry to raise. She is a dapple grey Clydesdale named after her fiery temper and knack for chaos, much like most animals that Collin has been responsible for. She is quite spoiled but very well behaved when needed to be, and she often thinks that she is the mother of those she likes, such as Henry, Paddington, Zosi and Collin. Once Henry left Scotland, she was one of the few things he took with him, and he still owns her to this day; allowing her to live her best, destruction-bringing life in London, striking terror in every stable boy in the entire city.

Adventure Time Reviewed - S1E09 and S1E10 - My Two Favourite People and Memories of Boom Boom Mountain

My Two Favourite People

This ep is about Jake’s plight of not being able to spend time with Finn and Lady together, so he decides to solve the problem. Finn isn’t very supportive of Jake running off to hang with Lady, lol. He thinks it’s lame to want to spend lots of time with your girlfriend. He’ll eat his words in season 4, where all he can think about is Flame Princess. I love that the cat and shark appearing every day and getting decapitated. They were brought up later but the cat said the shark died of old age. That’s the only thing that can kill him... :(

The first appearance of Shelby the worm!!!! Jake trying to wave his arms in the air out of exasperation while cycling, so he crashes into a tree. Beautiful. They picnic by a fire lake, with skeletons and treasure, instead of by a normal lake. The joke that doesn’t translate very well is actually a very naughty reference to Jake and Lady dancing in the field. Jake felt too awkward to tell Finn LOL

Post getting the translator, I think this joke may be inspired by how they couldn’t decide how Lady should speak. At first it was jargon but they eventually settled on Korean. Old man voice: “Come on darling, wrap your legs around me!” Incredible.

I wonder how Finn got rid of the power rings? There are many instances of Finn and Jake having random magic abilities. These are usually explained as items - in Wizard, they always wore wizard robes, and in Chambers of Frozen Blades, they wear headbands.

This ep is an early example of Jake being a flawed character. Before this point he had been mostly reasonable, demonstrating some laziness but always being on Finn’s side. This time he blows things out of proportion in his head and acts immaturely, which is actually pretty sweet. He really cares about Finn and Lady but also has the tendency to feel left out!!!!! And to expand on Jake’s past, we get our very first appearance of TIFFANY. (and a passing mention of the flying lettuce brothers) “Why would I be jealous?” “Because TIFFANY’s.... A BOY!!!!!!!” Incredible- OH MY GOD FINN CALLED HIM A “HOMEWRECKER”. That refers to someone who “breaks” a household by sleeping with one of its partners.

“Oh sweet potato. I love you BECAUSE you’re an idiot. You make me feel like a genius.” Well at least she’s honest. A tender moment.

“Let’s always be stupid. FOREVER!”

Memories of Boom Boom Mountain

The start of this episode is brilliant. Pen Ward at his best, and I assume Bert Youn or Sean Jiminez too.

Finn having fun with the marauders, getting dissed because he wanted to help someone, then having a go at them and laying down that he helps everyone with the smallest of problems because he remembers when he fell into boom boom as a baby... it demonstrates the touching naivete of his pure righteousness. Finn doesn’t yet understand that some people have to solve their own problems, and some people don’t deserve his help. He’s pure hearted. That’s the obstacle this episode makes him challenge.

I love that the marauders clap for him when he’s done. They understand he’s just a kid. I love these sorts of interactions in season 1, where people treat Finn like a kid.

Jake looks out for Finn by taking those rocks for him. There are so many moments across the show where Jake takes damage on behalf of other characters. I think the most recent example is when he swallows the birds in the finale, and they make him explode. Jake is very brave in ways it’s easier to appreciate as an adult.

Finn also jumps off the mountain holding Jake, which indicates to me he used him to parachute down.

I love that the mountain is actually having a crisis of sexual identity, he can’t stand the roughhousing men because theyre too attractive, which is why hes so happy when his heterosexuality is reaffirmed by the girl mountain calling him attractive

The part where they tie ducks and animals to their hands always cracks me up, the quacking noises when the punches lands instead of thumping noises. It looks genuinely soft but at the same time I understand the mountain’s perspective at being alarmed over all this animal punching. Doesn’t seem the animals are too bothered though! I love how in AT you get animals undergoing experimentation, observation, all sorts of crap, and they just don’t care. There is that poor cow from the graybles ep mind you.

The petting part of this ep is pretty gay.

WHOAH! There is some music in this episode that is used in Varmints. The banjo that plays when Finn suggests rotating the mountain is the same banjo that plays when Bubblegum is rocking on her chair waiting for varmints.

After a hilarious scene with everyone of every species having problems, my favourite being the dandelion person that wants to be pollinated, Finn implodes, and we have a beautiful moment where we meet Joshua and Margaret for the first time. I believe this is when it was revealed Finn and Jake are brothers, not just best friends.

I love the Rune Goldberg device. It’s entirely unsustainable. The flies will leave the guy’s ears, the marauders will want to take a break, the dragon will stop scratching its butt and will stop blowing fire, and the mountain will probably start crying again. But for the moment, it’s a solution, so Finn probably goes home feeling happy with himself.

The part at the end with the dolphin is such a random early AT moment.

Overall this was a great episode. What I loved in particular is the worldbuilding. Not only do we get a look into Finn’s motivations and backstory, long before he would be revealed to have come from an overseas human colony, we also get adventure time characters of all sorts of different species. I think this is the first time a “dragon” had shown up, and naturally it doesn’t look like a normal dragon.

The end actually made me think of Obsidian. First of all, both episodes have weird “dragons”, which have their own emotional problems because of course they do. Secondly, the dragon transforming into a butterfly cat - which is actually a sea angel - draws from the randomness of this episode, and from the later episode with Gunther’s kitty baby.

When they passed the non-magical pet shop, Harry saw the guinea pigs through the glass and said to them, “Did you know it’s illegal to own only one guinea pig in Switzerland?”

“Huh?” Albus said.

“They need a companion to be happy, so the law requires you to have two.”

“Wow,” James said. “I don’t think anyone here cares.”

Harry huffed. “Who doesn’t like animal facts?”

“I think it’s interesting, Harry,” Scorpius said diplomatically.

“Thank you.” Harry seemed to genuinely appreciate it. “At least someone does.”

“I like it too, dad!” Lily insisted from the side. “I like that they don’t let animals be lonely.”

“Me, too.” Harry smiled at her. “Helping someone from loneliness is one of the best things you can do for a person.”

Like how you saved father? Scorpius wanted to ask, but he was anxious that it might come out as sniping.

“Ugh,” Albus rolled his eyes. “I want to see the market!”

“We have to get your school stuff,” Harry said. “Then the three of you are going to your mother.”

“Dad — ”

“Come on, Albus,” Scorpius said. “There’re too many people today. We can get all our stuff and come back in a few days when the rush died down.”

“Yeah, alright,” Albus conceded, even though Harry said the same thing the first time Albus mentioned it. Scorpius met Harry’s eyes over the top of Albus’ head and the man looked exasperated.

“Do you think I can pay you to babysit Albus?” Harry asked Scorpius.

Scorpius grinned, flushed.

They made their trip to every shop they needed, second time as this particular group. People gave them curious looks, and Scorpius belated realized this would be the first time the Potter-Malfoy children showed up together in public after Harry and his father’s wedding. Something Scorpius had trouble thinking as “significant” when it felt like they’d been married since Scorpius was six years old. Though in actuality, Harry and his father had only gotten together after he started Hogwarts. Scorpius had been very confused at the family dinner where Harry awkwardly held Draco’s hand and told the kids that they were together and I hope that’s okay. Draco and I wouldn’t do anything if even one of you weren’t fine with it —

James had said, “does that mean we’re only going to get one Birthday or Christmas present from you guys now?” and Lily smacked him, before turning to them with anxious brown eyes and said, “wait, are we?”

Scorpius’ father had laughed and hugged Lily in a rare show of public affection. Harry had looked at Draco in the same tender way he had been looking at him for years that even now Scorpius continued to be confused as to why it took them so long.

Maybe he just didn’t understand love yet, as the group made their way down Diagon Alley until it was dusk and Scorpius’ father was standing outside of the Leaky waiting for them. Draco was carrying a bag full of pastries from the family’s favorite bakery. James practically buried his face into the bag and Lily screamed at him to get his “gross oily face out of it” which prompted James to flush and snap back.

Scorpius took it upon himself to diffuse the situation because he could tell when Harry missed Draco. He left his parents to talk about whatever it is a couple talked about (which was a lot of “Do we have tea left?” “You have that meeting tomorrow, right? When will you be home?” “I hope Weasley isn’t going to make that Lemon cake. I might actually have to hex him if he does. I won’t let you stop me this time!”)

But then Harry was taking the three to Ginny’s and Scorpius had to go to Mamie’s (Narcissa refused to be called grandmother). So they part ways there with Albus trying his best to cajole Harry so he would agree to let him go with Scorpius (“Narcissa loves me! I’m the only Potter she likes!”) and Draco was still laughing as they walked off.

And Scorpius wondered when Harry told his father this, because there was no way his father would know this random piece of guinea pigs information. Did they pass by the shop together, just the two of them, as they were when all of the kids were at Hogwarts? Did Harry grin at the pets before turning to Draco and telling him that? Did his father rolled his eyes or arched his brow at the words, or the more likely thing, and said, “That’s lovely” because his father knew about loneliness more than most.

Did he smiled at Harry like the way he was smiling at the fluffy animals right now, and Scorpius wondered if his father thought about Harry whenever he thought about guinea pigs.

Scorpius didn’t understand love of this variety yet, but he thought wanting to share something trivial but wonderful with someone for no other reason other than it was wonderful, and have that someone keep it close enough to share with his son, appealed to him more than grand gestures and sensational love. Scorpius didn’t really need much. After his mother passed away, he just wanted his father to not be lonely. For him to have someone to share the most unimportant things with. Someone that wanted to share with him. Someone that didn’t cling to him, but missed him when they were apart.

Scorpius had known since a long time ago that that person was Harry.

Scorpius smiled up at his father, wide, “Really? That’s wicked.”

Do you take lessons for anything? No. I’ve done so in the past, but not at the moment.

Has something really heavy ever fallen on you? Other than siblings or cousins from when we played together as kids, I don’t think so.

If you wear makeup, what colors do you usually wear? I never wear makeup but whenever my friends have used my face as a practice stage (lol) they’ve usually just used natural or nude-ish colors, which I find look okay on me.

Does your shower have curtains or a glass door/wall? It has a sliding door. I’m not sure what material it’s made out of, but I can tell you it’s at least not glass.

If you have more than one pet, do they ever get jealous of each other? Cooper does tend to bark and/or whine when he sees me giving more attention to Kimi, but not always. Kimi couldn’t give less of a crap, but this is also because he is 13.

Is there a room in your house that you don’t like going in? I used to not like being inside my bedroom, especially after the breakup. For a long time it was a place I only associated with crying and breakdowns, so when I was doing the arduous task of starting over I haaaaated staying there because it only hurled me right back to square one. But I’m happy to say that I eventually got better, had enough strength to change the narrative for my room, and now I like being here again :)

Do you remember the last question you were asked? What did you answer? My mom just asked me to watch Cooper because he was having the zoomies.

Besides salt and butter, do you put anything on your popcorn? Not a big fan of popcorn but if I had to pick a topping, I’d go with cheddar cheese.

Are you lonely? I’ll feel it sometimes, but it only lasts for a moment or so.

What’s your favorite magazine to read? Wow I haven’t read a magazine in years.

Do you like pineapple? I hate it. In all forms. The pizza debate doesn’t even matter to me lmao, I just think pineapple downright sucks.

Have you ever seen fireflies? They used to be common in our village when we first moved in, back when there were only like 3 houses in the neighborhood (we were one of the first to move in here). As more houses were built and the place got more occupied the fireflies gradually lessened until they disappeared altogether.

Have you ever trespassed? I very vividly remember taking multiple trips to the school cemetery back in grade school (I went to Catholic school and ours had a cemetery below our chapel, where all our deceased nuns were housed...I really shouldn’t be talking about this at 10 PM...). I am 100% sure that was an off-limits area but we went there anyway because we were a naughty group of kids and because no one was guarding the area.

Do you tell your parents where you are going? Yeah; if I live with them, they have the right to know. < Ooh, I’ve never even thought about it this way before but this is a very good point. I’ll second this, haha.

Do you agree with the notion that all people were created equal? Yes.

Do you raise your hand or participate in class? God never. I hid as much as I can and only recited if I was called on purpose.

Do you like visiting the mall? Why or why not? I like the malls that we have. But then again, malls are the only decent public spaces we have - we don’t have public libraries, parks, playgrounds, etc. – so it’s not like I have a choice on where I can go if I want to go out.

Have you ever purposely hurt an animal? Yeah I kill bugs when I see them. Soz, I have no feelings for them whatsoever.

Would you ever see a therapist? I planned to finally do this last year but it just fell through haha and eventually I was able to care for myself too. Now that I’m doing a lot better for the most part, I feel like I’d have no clue what to talk about once faced with one.

Are you afraid of heights? Only if I had to jump all the way down. But if I ever found myself staying at an extreme height simply to enjoy the view, or if I was ever in one of those towers where the top floor’s floor is made out of glass, I think I would enjoy that.

Are you afraid of the dark? I always say I’m usually not afraid of the dark, and will only be if I was in a situation that was intended to scare me. I would definitely be afraid of the dark if I was in like an abandoned cave or a haunted house, but I would also find the darkness in my room comforting.

Are you a jealous person? When I am it’s mostly been in a playful sense and rarely serious.

When is your birthday? April 21st.

What are you listening to right now? My very very old aircon doing its very very loud whirring thing. It’s become a running joke in the family because it is literally SO FUCKING LOUD hahahaha Have you ever been caught doing something you weren’t supposed to be doing? As a goody-goody, I can only ever do this to my mom; but yeah, she’s caught me many times.

Are you still friends with someone from kindergarten? Sure, but I’m not ~close friends with any of them. Just chummy enough to like their photos on social media once in a while or greet them happy birthday. My oldest friend was from Grade 1.

What is the most important thing to you? Being happy with myself and making sure I don’t miss out on life and opportunities.

Do you like whipped cream? I can take it or leave it.

Are you close to your mother? We get along but not close.

Are you close to your father? I’m closer to him in the sense that I would be more comfortable around him, but we’re also not physically or emotionally close.

Do you walk around bare foot when you're at home? Or do you wear socks? I am Asian hahaha what do you think?

Do you like chocolate popsicles? Sure! One would sound lovely right now, actually.

Would you ever be your school’s mascot who wears that costume? Both of the schools I’ve attended don’t have mascots.

Would you rather see the Great Wall of China or Big Ben? Great Wall for sure. Sorry but I can’t see myself getting excited over a giant clock, and I’m sure there are other lovely spots in London I’d much rather visit.

Have you ever written a poem? Always unsuccessfully. It’s never been my forte.

Would you ever be a tornado chaser? That’s a thing? Uh...no way??

What is your favorite thing to eat with bbq sauce, if you even like that stuff? Pizza. And anything, I guess. Barbecue sauce is the bomb.

Your parents tell you that this summer, you get to pick the vacation. Where do you plan to go? Covid notwithstanding and budget permitting, probably New York City.

What do you think is a good theme for a prom? I could not care less.

Have you ever had to do a class in summer school? Thankfully, never.

Do you get nervous when you go to the doctor? About what? You know, I’ve always thought going to the doctor was no sweat until I realized just how nervous I was when I had to book a telemedicine consultation once as part of my job (PR can make you do the most random, out of context things sometimes, I swear haha). I surprised even myself with the reaction I had when I found out I had to do it, and how I felt like declining the offer...I guess I was scared about the possibility of underlying health issues suddenly being unearthed. Your whole life can always get turned upside down in the blink of an eye with just one diagnosis.

Have you ever been to the rainforest? I’m pretty sure the climate I live in is called tropical rainforest, so I guess yeah.

Have you ever created a website? Not from scratch. I had always made it under an umbrella website, like Blogspot.

Ever thought about writing a book? Sure, as a kid.

Have you ever had a dream where you killed someone? No. Whenever I have dreams of that nature it’s always me or a loved one being killed, but never me doing the killing.

Do you ever make up stories in your head and wish they come true? Yes.

Which is worse: stuffy nose or runny nose? Stuffy. It sucks not being able to breathe freely.

Which is worse: Sick to your stomach or sore throat? I super hate sore throat. I already get stomachaches frequently, so even though I know how sucky it can be I feel like the discomfort would be bigger with a sore throat.

Do you think your last relationship was a disaster? The way it ended was, but it wouldn’t be fair to myself to invalidate the genuine happiness I felt when I was in it.

Ever been grounded? If so, for what? Continued from last night. Yes, I was caught cursing all over Twitter when I was like 11 so my parents cut off my access to all my gadgets for a year or so. Which, in retrospect, is an acceptable consequence for my actions, but we’re also talking about a time when schools were starting to view the internet as a necessity in doing homework and research. I missed out on nearly all my homework for a while, and my mom didn’t buy it when I kept telling her I needed to do my research over the internet. At the same time, she kept demanding why my grades weren’t doing so well when she was the reason they kept being pulled down...so yep, not a very fun time.

Have you seen all of the Jaws movies? No and I don’t really have the desire to. Doesn’t seem like my kind of movie.

When was the last time you played cards? (not on the computer) Maybe 2 or 3 years ago.

Have you ever drank Cherry Coke? No, I don’t drink any soda.

Have you ever had a black eye? Nope.

Have you ever eaten a bug? Not to my recollection, but I would love to try cooked crickets and whatever bug can be prepared and eaten.

Do you like pranking people? Never; the idea makes me cringe since I never know when it’s considered going too far. I’d rather watch people prank other people.

Did you ever take a cooking class in school? Yeah, but we were required to take it. We also had some baking sessions, which to me was a lot more fun. I remember having to make macarons and rainbow cake which are both right up my alley, heehee.

Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? No, idk what that is. I just know people turn everything green on that day lol.

Do you use Skype? I’ve never used Skype on my own. That’s where I used to talk to my dad for video calls maybe around a decade ago, whenever he was abroad; but I never had my own account. These days I alternate among Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or Zoom.

Have you ever participated in local magazine cover girl searches? I don’t think so, but I did join a few contests on some of those kid’s magazines we used to have...none of which I won.

Have you ever been called a skank/slut because of the way you dress? No.

Is your ex sexually attractive to you still? I haven’t seen her in 5 months, which helps...that said, I simply feel nothing. I’m neither sexually attracted nor not sexually attracted to her.

Describe the most romantic moment you’ve ever had. I can think of one but I don’t see the point in still raising it, considering where I am in life right now.

Have you ever cheated on a test? Yes, once. I hated it.

Have you ever been to couple’s counseling? Nope.

How often does your employer ask you to work overtime? A few times a week. Sometimes I’ll do it willingly as well just to get the task over with or to save myself some deliverables the next morning. I’m fine with OT-ing tbh; since I work from home, I feel like my time is a lot more flexible.

Did you often read for fun when you were a kid? I read A LOOOOOT as a kid. I was a total bookworm. < Yeah, same. You could always find me bringing a book to school and reading during breaks, even though they technically didn’t allow us to bring any non-academic book. My spark for reading died when I was around 12, same time as when my depression started to kick in, and it never really came back.

When was the last time you were scared? Someone from the media called me up yesterday VIA LANDLINE to ask a question about a press release I had sent out that day. I usually read up on the materials we have, but I honestly didn’t give a shit about that particular story and didn’t really make an effort to know more about it, so I found myself stumped when he dropped the question. I ended up stalling for a bit before I was able to stutter an answer, so that was scary, but at least he was nice. Also, I hate phone calls.

Can you speak binary? No, I never understood it.

Would you rather live somewhere that had hurricanes or tornadoes? I already do, at least for hurricanes. I imagine I’d be terrified of tornadoes.

Have you ever had a pet that you disliked? Nooooooo, never. I was never close to Arlee but I still did my best for her to like me, and always fed her whenever my sister would be in her dorm.

When was the last time you saw hail? Never. Doesn’t happen all that often here, and when it does it’s always in the provinces.

What is on your mind right this second: I want to spend my remaining time awake reading fanfic (I’m into them again, omg) but I also wanna finish surveys...so I’m doing my best to breeze through this so I can finally look for something to read hahahahaha.

Have you ever given a nickname to your pet(s)? Cooper is Cooperino to me. Sometimes I’ll call him Cooperino Cappuccino. Kimi is Kimchi, Kimmerl, Kimberly, The Kimster, and sometimes Lolo, which is grandpa in Filipino heheh.

When was the last time you shaved your legs? Like 3 or 4 days ago.

Do you ever try free samples at the store? Nope.

Do you like boys with long hair? Physical traits don’t matter much to me.

Do you like rootbeer? I’ve never tried it but I don’t really want to either haha. It smells weird.

What is the best fast food place, in your opinion? KFC or Taco Bell. Or Jollibee.

Do you have faith in yourself? Starting to.

i played two castlevania games, both from the nintendo gameboy era, so please don’t get mad at me, gamers

details below the cut, but since i’ll be talking about season three, i need to preface this with content warnings for mentions of: graphic violence, rape and sexual violence, racism, and the holocaust

before i get into it, i usually don’t go for alucard-type characters either, but knowing that he was redesigned to be bishounen sexy specifically because the boring, middle aged man look he originally had in the games wasn’t appealing makes me enjoy him. and he’s fun with trevor and sypha

do like:

the voice acting

it’s all good. i can’t think of any characters whose voices were awkward or fit poorly. they don't make sypha’s va use the standard flat affect or false high voice women tend to be assigned, trevor sounds suitably worn out but not monotone, and alucard sounds exhausted but in a sexy way

and the spanish dub is killer, arguably superior

the animation & design

it isn’t full-on artsy, but it’s definitely got a distinctive style that’s easy to look at. the color use and effects are gorgeous. it’s a story set in the medieval era, and the mixture of desaturated and oversaturated elements works so well with that

dracula’s castle and the belmont bunker aren't revolutionary in design, but they didn't need to be. they're suitably creepy and empty, and i enjoyed them

the monsters were unique enough to have obvious different types, and the scene where a monster commits blasphemy in a church by accusing a priest of committing blasphemy was good writing

lisa

she shows up to a stranger’s spooky home and scolds him for being rude. she really looked an ancient vampire in the face, told him he had no manners, then had a kid with him. what a phenomenal woman. 11/10, no notes

“start with me, and i’ll start with you.” you know what? i’d fall in love, too

dracula

this ancient, unfriendly vampire let a human woman walk into his home and tell him he’s got no manners. and that made him fall in love with her. just like that. lisa walked in and handed him his ass, and dracula thought “oh i love her”. and when she was killed (more on this in the bad section), he raised literal hell to destroy the world for doing it

speaking of lisa being killed, it fucks me up that it happened because she convinced him to leave the castle and experience the world. he left her alone to see what she loved so much, only to come back and find that the people he’d come to like- the people lisa had loved so much it drove her to help in a way that got her killed- had burned her at the stake. i love a good tragedy, and that’s good tragedy

the way he weeps when he has to fight alucard?? during a showdown in their home?? the “i must already be dead” moment in alucard’s childhood bedroom??? when he speaks to lisa about killing their boy, her greatest gift to him??? poetic cinema.

the trio’s dynamic

three bisexuals with two total brain cells and only alucard bothers using them. incredible

she initially seems to be assigned the role of the adult™️ ie she's the only woman and gets stuck being responsible, but surprise! she’s just as annoying and dumb as alucard and trevor. she dropped a castle she didn’t understand on the ground and didn’t think too hard about it. then she argued about breaking it. i love her

if we don’t get an ot3, then she needs to have a dumb gf

alucard

he's got a stupidly low neckline and lower pants. they really leaned into ayami kojima’s redesign, as they should have. his little curl annoys me, though. why the fuck does he have a random section of hair that’s like three inches long when the rest is shoulder length or longer? love that he really looks like lisa

if you say he's canonically bisexual and polyamorous, no he isn't. yes he is. no he isn't :)

trevor

disgusting. a nasty man whose appearance mirrors his state of mind. he's 50 mental illnesses in a dirty jacket and his coping mechanism is… alcohol? maybe? he’s a mess, and i dig it

him trying his trick of kneeing alucard in the balls during their fight? and finding out it doesn't work? (which…… why doesn't it……?) juvenile but suitable

hector

his love of animals makes him my favorite. normally, i won’t touch anything with this much animal death, but i’m willing to set that aside because hector loves them so much. he’s so sweet and kind, and he loves his monster pets

yes he sided with dracula and has some really fucked up ideas about what constitutes humane treatment of people, and yet i love him. 11/10, but i have a lot of notes

isaac

i support him, including his murdering and his decision to support dracula. dracula throwing him out of the castle to save him was so cruel in that it was an attempt at kindness from a man who hated the whole world, but it was against isaac’s wishes

his time with the captain was great

idk enough about islam to know if he's portrayed correctly and haven’t seen any complaints, but given the show’s track record……… i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not great

the forging

very cool. fresh and interesting! hector creating pet friends is cute and heartbreaking. love isaac for his dedication to reducing, reusing, and recycling

season 2’s big battle with all those vampires

the new version of “bloody tears” is phenomenal

this goes back to the animation, but listen……. it's so good. i loved the smoke vampire, and alucard’s fluid wolf transformations. his flying sword looked really good, and incorporating them together? super good to watch. and trevor’s whip?

the type and level of violence are suitable for what it is. it would be weird for a gritty show like this to be bloodless, but i don't think it would work if it were bloody to the extent of a slasher. it's also more clean violence, if that makes sense. you don’t linger just to look at gore; you see it because stabbing someone spills blood. the games weren't about extended, gritty scenes of realistic murder, so the show sticking with quick, slice and dice type fights fit with what i remembered of them

trevor’s whips

trevor’s weapons don’t follow the physics of normal whips, and they shouldn't. they’re heavily stylized and clearly a fantasy weapon, but they still have rules that they (mostly) have to obey. his morning star-whip hybrid in particular is so good

it’s easy to follow, too. a lot of times, speedy weapons disappear, which is an understandable effect but one i find boring because there’s nothing for me to do. i’m just sitting on my ass with nothing to do

trevor’s whips don’t disappear. they’re fast, but you can always see them. and they have weight! you can see them slow down and gain speed. i don’t need physics to be real; i want movement to be pleasing, and that’s exactly what i get with the whips

don’t like:

fridging lisa

she could have been kidnapped (possibly make dracula think she was dead bc people want to lure out her scary demon husband, idk), then s2 could have ended with her and dracula reuniting as he died. she and alucard go on a trip together to attempt to make amends for the pain dracula wrought in lisa’s name. orrrr she dies a tragic death with him and we’re left to hope that they find each other in the afterlife. do vampires get to go to the afterlife? can alucard reintegrate? can he be happy with his new friends? or will he go back to his crypt and sleep again? will he ever be rediscovered? if so, what will he do? deep questions. i would prefer to cogitate on these instead of experiencing the shitshow that is s3

season 3

they should have ended it with dracula’s death. the quality of storytelling goes down immediately. just plummets. i’m sure there were problems in the first two seasons, but this one is so bad, i genuinely can’t remember

but i may as well get specific, so here we go:

abandoning alucard

trevor and sypha leave their friend alone in his childhood home where he just killed his father. where they helped him kill his father who, as i’ve said too many times, raised literal hell to get revenge for people burning alucard’s mother to death

yt they don’t talk about alucard. they don’t make any plans to touch base ever again. trevor’s entire family got killed. sypha’s culture, from which she’s now estranged, is family-centric. if ever two people should give a shit about alucard and know why alucard shouldn’t be left on his own, it's them

so what the hell is going on?

the holocaust reference

the imagery at the end of s3 when it’s revealed that the judge has been killing people he’s decided are undeserving to live and collecting their shoes in that barn was chillingly close to images of shoes taken from victims of the holocaust. there's no reason to invoke the holocaust here. it’s unnecessary and in bad taste

George is... well, to put it simply, he’s a cuddler. He’s a very tactile person, without even thinking about it; casual touches, like squeezing a shoulder or clapping someone’s back comes easily to them, and is a simple way to express his affection. When he really cares for someone, he can get a bit needy --- he needs that same level of physical intimacy and affection. He’s very eager to hold the person he loves, to pull them close and feel their body against his, their heartbeat and breaths matching his own --- but nothing makes him feel better than getting that back.

B : BOUQUET. does your muse like flowers? which ones are their favourite?

Honestly? Not a fan. Like, he’ll get his Mama a bouquet for Mother’s Day, but George is more likely to rock up with a gift or giant stuffed animal than a bouquet. There’s something about them... he doesn’t like having to watch flowers wilt and die. It just unsettles him.

C : CHOCOLATE. does your muse like chocolate? which one is their favourite?

He’s not weird about it. Yeah, he likes chocolate, but he won’t go feral over it unlike some Liebgotts out there

D : DATE. what is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

He’s the sort of guy who has to be kept entertained; his ideal date is definitely an amusement park or a drive-in theatre (beware, he’s definitely seen the movie before and will keep up a running commentary through it). Carnivals? Oh, heck yes, count him in. Fireworks show? Please. Give George a fun and colorful setting, the opportunity to show off a bit, and a fun partner who can keep up with him... that’s the perfect date.

E : EMBRACE. does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

Yes, he loves hugs! He thrives on hugs! Again, George is fueled by physical intimacy. His hugs are very steady, very earnest, and sometimes cling a bit too much... but whenever he lets go, there’s sincere emotion on his face, and anyone can see how much he means it.

F : FLIRT. is your muse good at flirting? how do they flirt?

Oh yeah, he’s definitely a flirt, but it’s not something he can help! He’s just... got one of those faces, okay? That smirk alone flirts without trying. When George is actually trying, he’s definitely able to keep the mood of the party light; if he’s drawn to someone, he’ll joke around with them, but if they seem to respond in kind, then the flirting begins in earnest. He won’t throw himself down on the table in front of them... but winks, smirks, casual touches? It’s all there, baby.

G : GIFT. is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?

Gift giving is an art, and George Luz has honed it. He just... remembers things about people. Innocuous things, small comments, major life events, he remembers all of it, and keeps it stored away for a later date. He’s given his fair share of joke gifts, but when he gives something with sincerity in mind, it’s always somehow the perfect thing. George gives people gifts they didn’t even realize they needed.

H : HEART. is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?

Honestly, he’s quicker than he should be, and he knows it. George... wants to be loved. He needs attention and affection like he needs air. So when he falls for someone, he definitely falls hard, and there’s no way to really stop that trajectory. A part of him doesn’t trust himself, because he knows that’s a great way to get his heart broken.

I : I LOVE YOU. does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

He definitely thinks it way before he actual says it. George Luz, keeping a thought to himself? Inconceivable! But the fact is, George is shy about saying it... because he’s scared he might not hear it back. His partner would have to say it first... and from that moment on, there’s no stopping him. George loves saying “I love you”. He tosses it out at random times, in casual and meaningful moments alike, just to hammer the point home --- saying it often doesn’t make it any less true.

J : JEALOUSY. does your muse get jealous in a relationship?

He... can get a little insecure at times, so yeah, if he sees someone else flirting with his partner, he won’t like it, and will definitely try to break it up ASAP. Not with fists --- a little charm and a well-placed wisecrack can work wonders.

K : KISS. is your muse a good kisser? why / why not?

Oh gosh, yes. George is... the sort of kisser you wake up in a cold sweat about. He knows what he’s doing, and this is something he’s actually really confident about: George Luz is a damn great kisser. This is the one time he actually shuts his mouth, and puts it to work instead. Just the right amount of tongue, and touch, and teeth... while he’s definitely a bit of a tease, George knows what he’s doing, and exactly how to get his partner’s heart pounding. His biggest flaw is his habit of grinning during kisses, which... ends with bashing teeth together usually, not a fun time. Then he’ll start laughing, the mood is broken, and he’s gotta take a moment.

L : LOVE. who does your muse love?

His entire family --- and George has a massive family. All his friends --- and he has so many friends, seriously. The funny clerk at the grocery store who always gives him a discount; the nice old ladies down at the bingo club who talk about their grandkids a lot; the neighbor whose leaky roof he fixed who couldn’t actually pay him, but gave him an entire pie. George has so much love to give, it sometimes physically hurts.

M : MOONLIGHT. is morning or night a more romantic setting?

Morning George has bedhead, and Nighttime George has at least had a chance to run a comb through it, so he’s more confident in his ability to impress at night.

N : NAUGHTY. what is your muse like in bed?

“Naughty” is a good word for it. George is a tease; he likes to have fun, and does not want sex to be an intimidating experience for anyone. He’ll be the first one to admit that he messes around too much, but it’s just to cover up the insecurities he feels deep down (and also, when he’s nervous he sometimes doesn’t know how to Turn It Off). He’s a talker during sex. If he’s not making an inappropriately-timed joke, compliments are probably spilling from his mouth, like he’s not even sure what he’s saying. You have to actively work to shut him up... and even then, he’s still pretty loud. He’ll definitely be able to make his partner laugh, but when he gets to teasing, he can be absolutely unbearable. If the other person takes control --- which, holy shit, drives George absolutely wild --- it’s super easy to get under George’s skin, because he’s sensitive in a lot of places. When he goes over the edge, he goes over the edge hard... it takes a while for him to recover, and sometimes he’s left dizzy for a few minutes. Aftercare is very important, and another thing he absolutely loves.

O : ODE. does your muse have a way with words?

He’s got a smart mouth and the inability to shut up. That’s almost the same thing.

P : PARTNER. what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

Personality, absolutely. Whoever George falls for has to be able to snare him. He needs a little excitement, someone to keep him on his toes --- definitely someone with a great laugh. If they can make him laugh too, that’s a bonus; he’d love someone with a smart mouth. And kindness is super important --- he definitely wants someone who’ll go out of their way to help others out, even if it puts them at a disadvantage. (He has a thing for green or brown eyes, they just get him. Curly hair? Excellent, fun to run his fingers through. But he is... genuinely not picky whatsoever.)

Q : QUESTION. would your muse ask the big question or expect their partner to?

Oh, he wants to do it. Absolutely. He’s got a plan and everything. Multiple plans. Many of them are elaborate and involve pyrotechnics with the strong potential for disaster, but... eh, it’ll probably be fine. If no one dies during the proposal, it’s a great omen for the relationship!

R : ROMANCE. is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

He thinks of himself as... a practical romantic. Like, he’s not all butterflies and Disney ballads, but there’s a very strong streak in him that’s eager to be loved and have someone to dote on in return. When George is falling in love, he’s all about seizing romantic, spontaneous moments when they arise --- any way possible for him to show it.

S : SWEETHEART. did your muse have a childhood sweetheart?

He didn’t slow down long enough, to be honest. Lil Georgie was an energy ball. I could see him having some crushes on a few other kids, especially as he grew a bit older and middle school hormones happened, but he was no Baby Romeo.

T : TRUE LOVE. does your muse believe in true love?

He... believes in love. True love isn’t something he’s ever really thought about, because the idea’s always seemed kind of silly to him, like something out of a kid’s story. Love is love.

U : UNREQUITED. has your muse had their heart broken?

He’s been rejected plenty of times, but nothing’s ever truly shattered him. George bounces back quickly.

V : VALENTINE. how does your muse feel about valentine’s day?

“Stupid. Commercial garbage. Not even a holiday, why do we need it? Anyways, I booked us a dinner at eight at that restaurant you love, and don’t look under your pillow ‘cause there’s definitely not chocolate there ---”

W : WEDDING. would your muse get married? why / why not?

It’s not, like... the be-all-end-all of his happiness, and if his partner didn’t want to, he’d be cool with that. Yeah, he’d personally really like to get married and start a family, but... more than anything, he wants someone who’ll stay. You don’t absolutely need a ring for that.

X : XOXO. does your muse use / like pet names?

He will absolutely make up goofy pet names for his loved ones to tease them, and likes to get creative with them. Nicknames come easy to George, and are always affectionate --- he jokes that he’s got so many nieces and nephews that no way can he remember all their names, but he’s got a nickname for each one and remembers those without even trying.

Y : YOURS. does your muse get protective easily?

He can be, if he feels like a person he cares about is being threatened! If George sees a loved one in a tight spot, he’d going to jump in real quick. He won’t get immediately confrontational, that’s not his style... but he’ll be there, at their backs, ready to step in if needed. His go-to move is an arm around his loved one’s shoulders, with a grin and a too-cheerful “we got a problem here?”

Z : ZZZ. how many people has your muse slept with?

Like... he’s no nymphomaniac, but if he can, he will. Consent is very important to him, and he’s very in tune with his partner’s feelings, so he’ll only do it if both parties are firmly on board... but if someone’s interested in him, and he’s in the mood? Sign him up and pin him down.

Batman/P5 Crossover

-Sometime before Akechi but after Futaba or Haru

-Damian is sent to Tokyo to check it out for whatever reason (maybe they had a fight, or he’s going stir crazy, or he’s just the only one they can send at the time and didn't bother with all that "you're not old enough" business)

-Dami is younger than Futaba by a year or three or four

-He is baby

-He is transferred to Shujin as a child prodigy where he also immediately joins the "outcast" community because of his attitude and intelligence

-Talia goes too, manages to cut off all his communications with the Batfam, and is planning to take him home in a month whether he likes it or not

-For whatever reason, Batfam doesn't realize this??? (Like, either she's faking reports or they're too busy (think fight or chaos in Gotham scenario maybe???))

-Anyways, obviously Dami doesn't want this

-Somehow the Phantom Thieves hear about the situation

-Maybe he was assigned to shadow Makoto for a while, and they managed to overhear a phone conversation either to Talia or Dami trying to get in touch with the Batfam and nothing really working

-And eventually they outright see him fighting with his mother with him at some point (either in person or over a phone call) mentioning that she already disowned him, he's happy with his Father's family, and that he will head her family business over his dead body—and oh would you look at that, you already managed that, care to try again Mother?

-The PT's are understandably alarmed

-And learn her name from Damian (from Makoto maybe or someone else he bonded a little with) (MORGANA) (THEY GAVE HIM MONA FOR A DAY AND NOW THEY KNOW EVERYTHING FROM HIS MANY PETS TO HIS LEAST TO MOST FAVORITE SIBLINGS STARTING FROM TIM TO DICK TO HIS FAVORITE FOODS TO EVERYONE IN HIS FAMILY’S NAMES TO HOW STUPID HE FINDS EVERYONE AND WHY THEY'RE STUPID TO HIS FAVORITE MUSIC TO WHY ANIMALS ARE SUPERIOR TO HUMANS AND MONA’S LIKE OMG TMI BUT LOVED IT THERE BECAUSE HE WAS PAMPERED LIKE NO TOMORROW GOT ONLY THE BEST FOOD AND THE BEST BEDS AND TOYS THAT HE GOT TO TAKE WITH HIM BACK TO LEBLANC AND NOW AKIRA AND SOJIRO ARE LIKE DUDE WHY AND MONA’S LIKE IM KEEPING HIM THIS HUMAN IS GOOD SORRY AKIRA YOU’RE DEMOTED)

-The palace is basically a fortress full of assasin ninjas and clones

-Dunno what her keywords are tho

-Cognitive Bruce, Ra's, Damian, Dami clones, and Jason (maybe rest of batfam??? Idk)

-Long story short, the traps are so assassin-y that they need someone who knows the actual Talia because egads, this is the closest they have all come to actually dying

-And they didn't really want to do it and were just gonna power through

-But Dami manages to find out and get in and of course uses his background to help out whether they like it or not

(-he's slightly off put by Joker's name, but then decides to just solely call Gotham!Joker "The Clown")

-At some point they are captured by the Shadow Talia who is decked out in super fancy traditional Arab clothing and probably every conceivable hidden weapon known to man

-Talia says Damian won't and can't ever change from who he "is meant to be", referring to him as her Alexander and basically brutally addresses all of his insecurities concerning the batfam and people and society in general

-And all this is kinda killing him cause he still loves Talia despite the fact that she killed him and had a violent citywide custody battle with Batman but he also loves the batfam too even if he would absolutely never admit it (except to maybe Grayson)

-Joker does his emotional kick-start thing and/or Dami is like Makoto and just gets so mad he triggers it himself, but either way, lo and behold, Damian is now a persona user, usurping Futaba's place as the baby of the team

-The outfit is kinda inspired by his future adult league outfit with the top and bottom and gold jewelry, but has a raggedy cloak with dull gold edges, a Robin mask and gauntlets, and his main weapons are batarang-sword hybrids

---acknowledging his past and moving on with his present

-Persona: Aladdin, Tsun Zu, Ali Baba, somone else???? Need ideas plz help

-Probably the fastest member of the group

-His small body makes his hits not as strong, but hoo boy can that kid move around

-Hits a lot and dodges most

-Most of his Persona abilities are physical and have high crit and/or are status affects

-Downside is he has not a lot of SP (compared to the rest of the group)

-And he has pretty good HP

-Those good ol' “superior genetics” have to be good for something after all

-Anyways they escape to find the treasure another day

-And Dami is all smug because HA you definitely can't stop me now

-And the PTs are just resigned to keeping an eye on the extremely competent snotty assassin/vigilante child

-They do like him though so it's not too bad (comes with learning all his darkest secrets via his mother and thought processes that tends to accompany watching someone at their lowest get a persona)

(-They do manage to temper him a bit and help him adjust better to actual society too that's nice)

-As such, they also know about Batman and Robin and his whoooole family. Both sides.

-Damian decided not to tell batfam because he does agree with the whole "most adults suck" mentality that the Phantom Thieves have; despite his deep, deep respect for his father and mother and Grayson, they all do kinda suck

-And he’s rather not get pulled out as he surely would if he told them

(-On a side note, he likes Sojiro

-The man gives him coffee, curry, and leaves him mostly to his own devices

-Instant win)

-He is dubbed "Mockingbird" apon return to the metaverse because of his freaky talented vocal skills in mimicking anyone and everyone's voice

-Eventually, they beat Talia

-She doesn't publicly confess to all her sins unlike everyone else

-PTs don't realize it worked until Damian came into school with a genuine smile on his face, and more relaxed than he'd been since he got there

-PTs are confused until Damian's like, this works out because hey, don't want to have several people assassinated and draw the entire freaking league to Tokyo

(-Which was probably why Talia didn't)

-They agree

-But she does break down to tears in Dami's arms and promise to ACTUALLY TALK CIVILLY with Bruce to try and make up for everything and try to fix up the league

-He stays for the rest of p5

-But steers all his reports very much away from the Phantom Thieves

-If anything, he downplays absolutely everything, and makes it seem like it's nothing super big but he's gonna stay a while to keep and eye out because y'alls are busy and I like it here and I haven't gotten expelled so there

-When they have the Tokyo/Japan-wide calling card, Batfam sees it too because let's face it, that's totally the sorta thing that they would keep an eye out for even if he didn't look at the news in the entirety of the time Dami was in Tokyo

-And they send a message to Damian (the first actual communication they've had since before Talia) saying "WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON OVER THERE????"

-And with the entirety of the Phantom Thieves looking over his shoulder, Damian's just like "Chill dudes, everything's fiiiiiiiiiine"

-And they're like "UH WHAT PART OF THIS IS FINE????" because they've dug around a bit and found every news report, and oh hey, this isn't anywhere near as calm as Damian described and he’s being super OOC and what’s going on?!?!?!?!?!

-And Damian, being egged on by the most of the PTs, just sends a winky face

-Just

-😉

-And he's smug, because it's still chaos over there so they can't actually come get him and try to pull him out because he's being super ooc

-Which means he's free to do what he wants/needs in the meantime

-Cue the end of the game

-And Dami is going with them on their summer road trip and cackling because the batfam is scrambling to find him in Tokyo but lol nope he's in a van the Japanese government tried and fail to follow

-And he found all the trackers like, a year ago

-They eventually track him down to Akira's house where they're calmly eating dinner (and they've been expecting this for the past week so Mona was keeping watch just so they could pull this off) and talking about how uneventful the school year was

-Talking normal then crazy then normal again

-And just generally being their normal selves lol

-They explain absolutely nothing beyond gushing about how much progress socially and academically he’s made (gotta embarrass the baby of the group somehow) and making sure that if Dami absolutely has to go home that he's able to stay in touch

D.W. has always had issues forming attachments to people. Since she was a child, she looked at things through an overly pragmatic lens and tried to analyze people to best understand them. This most likely stemmed from her mother coming and going and her father’s constant distraction when she was young. She has very few familial connections, and doesn’t let many people past the outside shell that she created. One person who has wormed their way through is D.W.’s fellow clan member, Greta Bow. They connected when Greta wanted to shadow her and she was able to help her work through the trauma she experienced at the hands of hunters. While Greta ended up staying at her current position, D.W. fell in love with her. She knows nothing will come from it, but it keeps her going throughout the day. One unique thing is D.W. ’s ability to view herself, her actions, and her beliefs as tools to help fix what is wrong. She can detach from her emotions and do what is necessary to keep things on the right path.

This detachment doesn’t mean she doesn’t care, however. She cares about ideas and issues a lot, specifically those related to her career. As a Victim Advocate she is able to connect with her clients, both supernatural and human alike. She fights for them and for their safety whether it is from abusive parents or spouses, or just a system that wronged them. She is a driving force to try and end non consensual changes in the Animal Shifter community, and specifically wants to go after the Nimbles and Hyenas. Another goal that she has dedicated her current existence towards is ending the Colt family of hunters. A couple of years ago she set out to seduce one of the brothers in order to gather information. It went further and further, and she has been married to Colin Colt for almost a year. Though she doesn’t know how long it will go on for, she knows it will end with the clan taking the Colts down.

Greta Bow (Beloved): She only truly became acquainted with Greta when she showed interest in the victim advocate branch. When she began opening up to her, D.W. helped her with the trauma from her own capturing. Greta then began shadowing her and they spent nearly every day together for a few months. Slowly, D.W. fell for her very genuine soul. She knows the feelings aren’t reciprocated, but is happy to settle with the fact that she is in her life.

Colin Colt (Husband): D.W. seduced and married Colin to get information on the Colts, and eventually take them down. Now he’s pushing for babies, and she’s running out of ways to say no.

Platonic Connections:

Arthur Milligan (Good Friend): Art is a good friend and the only other person in the family who has a connection with the Colts. His face is known to them as her friend from high school and college, and at times he is the only human shifter she sees for weeks. She always knows that she can count on him when she needs a break from it all.

Churchill Darling (Friend): Church jokingly gave her the idea to make one of the Colts fall for her, after a particularly long ranting session about them. He gave her his full support when she laid it out for him, Sirius, and Vincent, and went toe to toe for it.

Sirius Cobic (Leader): Sirius was the one who finally gave her the go ahead to infiltrate the Colts. With his blessing she has been able to create a massive network of information on the Colts that will lead to their demise.

Vincent Kane (Friend): Vincent does not approve of her mission and was the only force working against her in her quest to start following the Colts. It has made their friendship frosty at times, though they do get along.

Douglas Gish (Friend): Douglas is a good person to go to when she needs to decompress. He’s funny and quick witted, though not annoyingly so. He has a good mind and is great at conversation.

Lillian Pickford (Friend and Coworker): Lillian and D.W. often work together when Lillian is trying to gain justice for her victims. They get along well and share a passion for their work. D.W. sees Lillian’s insecurity and is working out a way to help with her confidence.

Emmanuel Flores (Former Potential Client): Emmanuel was a perfect example of how Percy paid someone off after he ruined their life, however he didn’t want to bring anything forward, or be used as an example against the Nimbles.

Jesse Wicker (Client): Jesse’s parents were killed a few weeks ago, in what looks to be an attack by a hyena. D.W. has been helping to organize the funeral and get Jesse on his feet. He’s turning 18 in a month, and won’t have the support of the system afterwards.

Caroline Hess (Client): She has been helping Caroline process the paperwork for the divorce from her abusive ex-husband. He has continued to try and intimidate Caroline, despite numerous restraint orders. If he threatens her anymore, D.W. may take care of him, and Caroline won’t have to finish the filing.

Hostile Connections:

Elle Colt (Target): Elle, like many of the Colts, to a liking to D.W. quickly. They appeared to be the same age, had the same interests, and could even share clothes. Elle, along with Blaine and Colin, was her primary target in order to be accepted by the Colt family.

Blaine Colt: (Target): Blaine was nearly as easy to win over as his brother, and was actually her initial target before D.W knew he was married. He has a shrewdness about him, however, that made her back off in the end. They’ll often go shooting together when she has to spend time with him. Lately, D.W has been unsure about their connection thanks to Imani whispering in his ear.

Alice Colt: (Target): Alice has a deep distrust of D.W. that stems all the way back to before the wedding when she saw her slipping her ring on and off before coming “home”. She suspects that Alice brought it up to Colin, but it didn’t take much for her to gaslight the younger woman. She knows that the cruelty streak runs deep with Alice and can’t wait to get rid of her.

Hailey Colt (Target): If D.W. had to pick a Colt that she could tolerate the most it would most likely be Hailey. She minds her business and she doesn’t share any overly obnoxious opinions when they go on walks. D.W. can see how depressed she is, and wonders how no one else sees it. Then she remembers that she has a job, and not to get emotionally involved.

Casper Colt (Target): D.W. finds Casper the most arrogant of the Colts, simply due to the fact he has done nothing, yet walks around like royalty. She knows Blaine and Colin are getting sick of the attitude as well, and is looking forward to seeing him get torn down.

Iris Colt (Target): D.W. thinks it’s a bit middle ages to arrange a marriage for power consolidation, but it’s not really her place to say. She has some sympathy for Iris, and wonders what she might have been if not a hunter.

Imani Colt (Dislike): Imani is going to blow D.W cover and she has no idea how to get the former Anderson hunter off of her back. D.W did not have the correct intelligence on Blaine and Imani’s relationship and it has thrown a wrench in her plans. She is unsure whether to start playing it extra nice or go on the defensive.

Percy McCormick (Dislikes): Percy McCormick doesn’t care about the people he unleashes on Chicago or the trauma that he leaves behind when he allows reckless and dangerous changes. A significant number of supernaturals who come to her are Nimbles, looking for any kind of answer.

Juliette Willott (Dislikes): D.W. is incredibly suspicious of Juliette. She doesn’t like the radio silence that much of the hyenas became once she took over, and she knows she is behind the uptick in random changes.

Jin Asato (Former Contact): Jin was her primary contact within the Hyenas before Juliette took over. She thought she was making headway with convincing him to stop the neverending non consensual changes, but all communication ceased once Juliette came to town. Now, Jin won’t answer her emails or calls.

Pets:

Ruger (Colin’s Dog): Ruger, like all domesticated animals with Human Shifters, hates her. He seems to be the only one who has figured her out. She’s considered letting him loose, or killing him herself, but he won’t let her get within 10 feet of him.

i was really happy with this when i finished with this but the more i think about it the less i like it but i hope you enjoy !

You hold your hands up in surrender, slowly stepping away from the woman currently yelling at you. “He fell and it looked like he was injured, I was only trying to help.”

“My child will never need any help from you.” The woman turns from her violent, spitting acid rage to the personality of a loving mother, turning to tend to her very young and very confused child.

You give up the idea of doing any shopping and slowly turn, keeping your shoulders rolled forward in the hopes of seeming meek and like you don’t want any trouble.

Because you definitely don’t.

Enough eyes are on you throughout the day without a random mother screaming at you for “negatively influencing her baby.”

You quickly and quietly walk down the sidewalk, keeping your eyes trailed on the ground. As you walk you sidestep someone, not even bumping into them but apologizing, nonetheless.

“Sorry. I’m sorry.” You repeat, not looking at their face.

“Who’s he?” Haechan asks. His eyes follow you as you glance around quickly before ducking into an alley, disappearing from his view.

Renjun sighs in your direction and shakes his head. “His name’s Y/N, he’s a warlock.”

Haechan looks up at Renjun at that statement, eyebrows furrowed low. “Why? What happened?”

“Nobody really knows,” Renjun adjusts the job-required flower crown situated on his head, plucking a flower off that he deems annoying. “He never talks about it and everyone else acts too scandalized to mention it. I’ve always felt bad for him, he was always really bright and nice. He loved everyone and everyone loved to be around him. But then,” Renjun gestures to the empty air in front of him. “Whatever he did, or didn’t do, caused everyone to hate him overnight.”

“Some people are still… quietly polite with him, some just kind of pretend he’s not there, but some definitely do go out of there way to make sure he regrets whatever happened. I always try to be nice to him and make him feel welcomed but with my job title, I need to stay on as many people’s good sides as I can.”

“But nobody knows what happened?” Haechan shakes his head and taps on the table. “That doesn’t seem fair,”

“A lot of people aren’t.”

“They didn’t have a trial? They didn’t let him state his case? They just turned against him with no other knowledge?”

“They’re old fashioned around here, Hyuck.” Renjun begins. “If the elders say he’s a traitor, everyone believes it without question. And at this point, Y/N’s probably too afraid of being hated even more if he tries to argue.”

Haechan squints at the alley you disappeared down, thoughts running a mile a minute. “Do you know where he lives?”

“I could probably find it.” Renjun shrugs, not quite understanding what Haechan’s intentions are. “Why?”

“Do you have time before you have to go back?”

Renjun gestures in between them, still not catching on. “It depends on when you’re done looking around, I’m assigned to you until we go back and then I’m sent to the next person.”

“Well, Mr. Tour Guide,” Haechan smiles brightly, one others would assume is innocent but Renjun knows it’s far from it. “I think I want to get to know some of the locals, starting with him.”

Haechan’s already off of his chair and walking away by the time the thoughts in Renjun’s head finally click together.

“He’s not! He’s,” Renjun manages to catch up to Haechan before he disappears down the same alley you did and shakes his head. “He doesn’t live this way. He just doesn’t like walking through the crowds, so he hides and then… teleport isn’t the word he told me… shadow travel is what he called it. He just fades and then shows up wherever he wants.”

Haechan stops at that and tilts his head towards Renjun. He crosses his arms. “That’s… Yeah, that’s powerful. Once I befriend him, I wonder if he’ll teach me.”

Then it’s Renjun’s turn to stop. “Befriend him? You don’t even know him yet? We don’t know what he did.”

“Or didn’t do,” Haechan points at him, smile equally bright and mischievous. “I plan to find out what happened.”

You hold your hand behind you as Renjun and Haechan walk up, trying to slow them down. “Hello, Renjun.”

Your voice is a lot softer, sweeter than Haechan imagined a banished person’s voice would sound. You’re hunched over a small patch of flowers, knees pressed against your chest as you watch the area.

“Hello, Y/N.” Renjun steps forward slowly, Haechan half-tiptoeing behind him. “What are you looking at?”

“There’s a snake. He looks stuck, but I don’t want to grab him until he calms down a bit.” You state and sit down, glancing over your shoulder. “Did you need something?”

Renjun shakes his head and pulls Haechan forward, nodding for him to talk first.

Haechan rolls his eyes. “Renjun is showing me around. I noticed you earlier and you seem… different. Interesting. I wanted to see what you were about.”

Renjun’s eyes go wide and he begins to scold Haechan for being so blunt before you smile and shake your head. “I’m afraid I’m not as interesting as most people see me.”

“My first memories of you are going to be your sheer power and easily messing around with a snake.”

“Fair,” You shrug your left shoulder, slowly reaching forward with your right hand.

Haechan walks closer to you as you lift up a stick, a red snake coiled around it. You seem completely at ease and relaxed as you lift its tail from where it’s stuck between a fork in the branch. The snake hisses slightly, sensing some danger but not enough for it to be genuinely upset. It slithers into your hand when you hold it out, rolling up into a ball.

“He must be a baby.” You chew on your lip and place him in your apron pocket. “I’ll get him something to eat, make sure he’s healthy before I let him go.”

“You’re just going to let him chill in your pocket?” Haechan scrunches his nose up. “Isn’t that… dangerous?”

“He’s a common kingsnake. None of the kingsnakes are venomous. They’re actually pretty docile, at least all the ones I’ve had around.” You stand up and wipe your hands off. “I think they’re really cool actually; they kill and eat rattlesnakes. They mimic them too. They vibrate and shake their tales on dry leaves to make the rattle sound.”

“They can still bite though.” Renjun points at you.

“Most animals bite.” You point back at him. “People can bite, doesn’t mean you’ll be poisoned.”

Haechan watches as you grab the flowerpot you were carrying previously (before getting distracted by the snake you deemed in-need) and take it towards the front of your house. “How do you know so much about snakes?”

You hum and turn around to him. You wave your hands around at the woods surrounding your house. “When you grow up and live in places like this, you kind of learn things about the animals that are around. Plus, I like nature, I like learning about it. I’m a bit of a… stereotype in that sense.”

“You’re a witch that lives in the woods, surrounded by different plants, know everything about animals,” Haechan starts to list off.

“Used to have a pet bat and right now he has a pet fox,” Renjun adds. “Didn’t you have an owl too?”

“Okay, one, the bat couldn’t take care of itself, two, someone had the owl, clipped its wings and the tried to set it off into the wild which is such an idiotic and mean thing to do, so I took care of it.”

“And the fox?” Renjun asks, unable to keep the smile on his face hidden away.

“Her mom was nowhere to be found and she couldn’t take care of herself.”

Haechan and Renjun make eye contact, Haechan’s smile exceptionally bright. Renjun shakes his head at his friend, following you as you walk around your garden.

“Oh, right, do you guys want to go inside?” You scratch your arm, glancing between them and the ground. “I’m not used to having people over.”

“No, we’re alright.” Haechan watches you for a second as you rock up on your toes and sheepishly look around, not knowing what to do with the attention. “Actually, I think we’re going to leave soon. Renjun should probably get back to work.”

You nod and awkwardly wipe your hands on your apron. “Alright, uhm, thank you for stopping by.”

Haechan smiles at you (and becomes smug when you naturally smile back). “Hopefully, we’ll be able to come back soon.”

“Yeah, it’s… it’s nice. Having people around, I guess.” Your cheeks turn red as you speak.

“Try not to get bit by a snake before we come back.” Renjun smiles and turns with Haechan as he starts to walk away.

“So, you don’t… go out much?” Haechan asks. “I don’t mean that in a rude way,”

You hum and sit back. “Uhm, no. No. I’m not really, I’m not really accepted. People don’t really search out the person that’s shunned from the town.”

You jump up to sit next to him, taking your gloves off. He hums and continues to twirl the flower in his hand.

“Can I ask why you’re shunned? Renjun told me they didn’t have a trial, and nobody knows what happened.”

“I don’t like to talk bad about people, I don’t like to say things and make someone else form opinions without actually knowing the other person.” You state, pointing at him. “I want that to be obvious first.”

He nods, waiting for you to continue.

You sigh and shrug your shoulders, seeming much more tired than you were previously. “This isn’t supposed to be a brag or anything, but I’m considered fairly powerful. I come from a powerful family and I’ve been training since I was young. My family had a lot of stake in this community and were always outspoken about what they wanted of this area, what they wanted to happen, who they approved of, etcetera. And now that I’m the only one left of my family, everyone has been trying to get me to choose sides and be more forward about what I believe in but they only want me to believe in the things they agree with.”

“I don’t like the things the leaders here are doing, I’ve always been honest about that and nothing is going to change that.” You continue, becoming angrier with every word you speak. “The leaders of the coven made a decision I didn’t agree with, they’re almost going back in time with their ideologies. Instead of moving forward in time, instead of growing with the world around us, they stay still and argue against any improvements because they’re scared of change.”

“I made my opinion on that very clear, nothing about our world is conventional. The world is changing every single day, for better or worse, and our part of it is changing even more so. I sound like a politician but it’s the way I was raised and what I believe is true. The leaders didn’t like that, they thought I was too powerful and that I had too many supporters and people liked me too much for me to have different ideas than them. When I started openly disagreeing with them they decided it was a treason against our world and made up rumors and lies about me that most people blindly believed, and I was too scared of being even more of an outcast that I didn’t immediately argue against them which caused even more people to turn on me.”

You shake your head and pick up a flower lying on the ground. You pick off the petals, floating them around your hand. “I didn’t mean to rant I just feel very passionately about being silenced.”

He shakes his head quickly after you, watching the petals gently fly around before reattaching on to the flower. “No, I- No. That’s… Really? And you’ve told people this?”

“You and Renjun are the only ones who’ve bothered to listen to me.” You drop the flower stem above the larger bush and Haechan is amazed when he notices the flower planting itself next to its companion. “I try to believe everything happens for a reason; I want to see what comes of this.”

“That must be so… difficult. Not being heard, nobody even bothering to hear your side.” Haechan stands and begins to pace on your porch, heartbreaking for you. “No wonder you didn’t get a fair shot at defending yourself.”

“They think of as a threat to their normal. They should’ve known my family didn’t take too well to complacency. I don’t think it’s a good thing for everyone to agree without questioning.”

He nods slowly. “I don’t either.” He brushes his hair back and sits next to you again. “I’m sorry, I can’t imagine how you feel.”

“I’m slowly getting used to it. I would rather be by myself with my ideas than change them for people to agree with me.”

“Well, now you have me. And Renjun! And we won’t make you change any of your ideas unless we think they’re harmful.”

“But you’re both the type to talk about it and not turn your backs immediately.”

“I’ll make sure to tell Renjun about that compliment.”

Renjun stands across your front garden, hands in his jacket pockets. “What compliment?”

“He said we’re not complete assholes like the rest of the world.” Haechan leans into your side. “Right?”

“Yep.” You nod and gesture for Renjun to join you. “Haechan was asking me about why I’m disliked, and I said you’re not like the others.”

“Ooh, thank you so much.” Renjun rolls his eyes as he speaks but just about sits on your lap as he sits next to you.

Haechan repeats the story for you, not wanting you to get any more upset than you are. Renjun’s chin slowly lands on your shoulder during the retelling, face contorted in a way you’re not familiar with.

You shrug the shoulder opposite him. “It’s not your fault, I didn’t tell anybody about it, I can’t exactly expect help if I don’t ask. And I was serious when I said I’m getting used to it.” You address Haechan, nodding once. “It makes me appreciate things more. Like, hey, if I wasn’t a complete social outcast would you have shown interest in me?”

“With your face? Definitely.” He answers, sun-bright smile returning. “Even if I saw you and you didn’t have any type of tragic backstory, just talking to you once or hearing about you… I would be as whipped as I am right now. Renjun too.”

You roll your eyes, ignoring him and missing Renjun’s face turning pink. Renjun pushes Haechan’s shoulder and glares at him as you drop down and continue fixing your plants.

“Relax your wings,” Haechan smiles and wraps an arm around his shoulders. “He thinks we’re joking.”

“That doesn’t mean you need to poke it,” Renjun whispers despite you walking further down the yard. “I don’t want to feel like we’re taking advantage of him.”

“Fine, we’ll make him fall for us first. It’s been a month since we started talking to him, can’t take too much longer for him to fall for my striking good looks and your okay personality.”

Renjun smacks him a few times, stopping and smiling when you look up at him with a confused (and concerned) look.

You burst out your front door as Renjun and Haechan make their way to your house. Something unknown is smeared across your forehead and your arm. You jump down the stairs and smile wildly, gesturing for them to come forward faster.

“Come on, come on, I wanna show you something!” You reach forward and grab both of their hands, dragging them inside your house.

As you drag them forward, Haechan pokes at the stain on your arm and makes your face and arm become clean again, shaking your head at them.

You lead them down the winding hallways until you reach what’s supposed to be your formal dining room but turned into an area you do just about anything besides formal dining.

“I’ve been working on this for the last two days. That’s why,” You drop them off on one side of the table, moving around to the other side to lift up a giant cauldron. “That’s why I haven’t been talking as much or going places because I’m very,”

You jump up slightly trying to show your excitement and focus on your latest project. You lift up a basket of round objects. Haechan mentions they resemble bath bombs, to which you and Renjun gave him a strange look, even though he believes you’re not in any place to judge.

“When’s the last time you slept?” Renjun asks, raising his left eyebrow at you.

You hesitate before shrugging much more nonchalantly than you should. “I’m not sure, I’ve got a lot of caffeine in my system but look, I can’t believe this, I just thought of it a few days ago and I’m absolutely amazed it actually worked. I’m unbelievably excited. I couldn’t wait to show both of you.”

Haechan nods and takes a step forward. “Alright, show us. That way you can calm down a bit and get some sleep.”

You look towards Renjun for permission and he nods as well, leaning up to get a better look at the basket.

“I was working on something else, but I was distracted by- I was distracted.” You clear your throat and shake your head, picking up one of the objects. “I was going to dispose of it, but I accidentally dropped it and it kind of exploded but the area became weirdly… cold? I guess? Like frozen, like the ground froze. And I had an idea.”

They try to follow your excited rambling, focusing their hardest on connecting all of the points.

You hand Haechan the ball and smile brightly. “Throw it down.”

He steps back, incredulous look questioning everything about this situation.

“Just trust me. Throw it on the ground.” You point to the open area next to him, tapping the table quickly.

Haechan turns and flinches as he throws the ball down a few feet away, curling up his other fist.

As the ball hits the ground, a popping noise rings through the room and the ball explodes white. The ground around the area instantly freezes and the space above the spot seems to fall.

“Is that snow?” Renjun moves closer, eyebrows furrowed. “It is. It’s snowing, you made it snow. And the ground is completely frozen.”

You nod quickly and climb over the table, holding your hand out for the snow to collect on your hand. “I made this one, one were it’s like a snowstorm, rain, thunderstorm, heat, wind, everything.” You breathe out deeply and wave at it. “What do you think? I was planning on making them bigger, like these are sample sizes but if I make bigger ones, they can be big enough to have mini snow days or the rain can be used like sprinklers for gardening? Or maybe for educational purposes?”

Haechan hugs you quickly, shaking his head the entire time. “That’s amazing. It’s incredible. You are the most brilliant person I’ve ever met.”

You blush and laugh. You attempt to shrug before Renjun pushes your shoulder down, joining in with Haechan’s compliments towards you.

“I would never have thought about anything like this,” Renjun states, brushing your hair out of your face. “I can’t even imagine what it’s like inside your head, honestly.”

“Thank you.”

“I’m proud of you.”

“Thank you.” You repeat, hiding in Haechan’s shoulder.

Renjun raises an eyebrow at Haechan and shakes his head, proud smile spread on his face. “Now that you’ve calmed down a bit, I think you should take a nap because, and don’t take this the wrong way, your face is always beautiful, but you look exhausted.”

You blush and nod. “I feel exhausted. I think my commitment to the project was what was keeping me on my feet. Thank you for coming, you don’t have to stay around while I’m sleeping.”

“Are you kidding?” Haechan asks. “We’re taking a nap with you. But beware, Renjun’s a cuddler.”

“I’m not, Haechan is infinitely worse.”

Your eyes dart around the room. “We’re going to sleep in the same bed? All three of us?”

Haechan winks at you, grabbing your hand and Renjun’s. “You’re going to have to get used to it.”

“Yeah,” Renjun joins in, surprising himself and Haechan. “After we make you fall for us, we plan on spending a lot of time loving on our genius outcast.”

After your very long and very needed nap, where you were squished between two of the biggest cuddlers you’ve ever met, you and Haechan and sitting at your counter, watching Renjun make a quick lunch.

You awkwardly fiddle with your hands as you think too hard on the conversation you had with them before you fell asleep. You clear your throat and lean forward. “Uhm, were you- were you two serious about what you said before? About me… falling for you… or whatever?”

They make split-second eye contact before Haechan nods slowly. “Yeah, why? Is that what you were thinking about?”

“I’ve never,” You search for the right words, looking up at Haechan for some help. “I’ve never had feelings like that for anybody before.”

Haechan nods again. “That’s perfectly okay, you don’t have to-”

“No. No. That’s not what I’m trying to say. That’s perfectly okay, but it’s not what I’m trying to say. How do you know? How do you know when you like someone like that? How do I know if I like you two like that?”

Renjun floats up gently, sitting on the counter next to you. “That’s… a hard question. Everyone falls differently.”

“I think of you two as more than friends.” You start and Haechan holds your hand, trying to ease your mind a bit. “But I haven’t had friends in a long time and I don’t want to mistake my feelings for something more and hurt either one of you. But I like cuddling with you and I like when you two flirt with me. I like when we act like we’ve known each other for our entire lives. I get excited when I see you and I miss you when you’re not here and as I’m explaining this something in me says it’s more but I’m not used to it.”

Haechan smiles and leans closer to you. “Well, I will say that everything you’ve described liking, that’s how I feel when I’m around Renjun. That’s how I feel when I’m around you.”

You look up at him and Renjun, looking between both of them. “Really?”

“That’s how I feel too. I want you to be with us the same way we’re with each other.” He starts. “But I don’t want to pressure you into anything. If you want to try to be more with us, we are completely down and ready, but if you ever at any time feel like you want to change our dynamic and go back to the way we are now, we understand.”

“We want you to feel comfortable with us. We’re never going to not be your friends, we’re in this for the long run, if we’re dating, if we’re friends, anything.” Haechan adds, pinching your cheek softly. “We’re not just in this for your power and your cute face.”

You scrunch up your nose and nod. “Would you two be okay with taking it slow? Like slowly becoming more and more…” You gesture between the two of them. “Like you.”

Haechan coos at you, petting your head. “You’ve thought about this a lot, didn’t you?”

You nod again.

“Does this mean I’m allowed to kiss you and take you out for ice cream or food whenever you think of a brilliant idea like earlier?” Renjun asks, barely hiding his smile from you.

I got so news that’s pretty upsetting today, it might not be true but we’ll see. Anyway could I get some fluffy ass Serirei headcannons? Like I’m talking then being protective, them admiring each other completely, them loving each other so completely.

After they begun dating Serizawa wasn't going to settle for subtle anymore, Serizawa enjoys grand gestures of affection and love as where Reigen is satisfied with maybe one flower or a small hug but Serizawa absolutely drowns him in affection. Though its not a bad drown, Reigen just hasn't swam in a while.

Serizawa has random burst of moments where he just wraps his arms around Reigen and pulls him close just to have him there and to smile into his neck and hair. Sometimes he’ll show up to work with little gifts or flowers for him and Reigen will get all flustered.

Reigen needs to get used to all the open affection and tenderness Serizawa brings, he’s not used to being treated so gently and kindly but he does his best to bring as much love as Serizawa. Where he usually hesitates and wonders if he really deserves this he begins just wrapping his arms around Serizawa’s waist and resting his head against his back

I’ve mentioned this before but Serizawa is little spoon, he likes to lay against Reigen’s chest and curl up. It’s a good position for them both because Reigen loves Serizawa’s hair and plays with it often

In the mornings that they spend together Reigen has noticed that in hot water Serizawa’s hair curls up slightly the first time he noticed he imminently ran his hands through his hair admiring it as Seri chuckled with toothpaste still in his mouth asking “What?” to which Reigen only responds “you look cute”

They’ve spent so many mornings together they’ve discovered each others routines: Reigen gets up early and draws open the curtains for the sunshine, Serizawa grumbles and ducks under the covers. By the time Reigen finishes up his morning shower, email checking, water plants, and making breakfast Serizawa is barely stumbling into the shower still grumpy.

Night time is another story though, Serizawa is the most productive during this time, working on his homework and making dinner and setting up appointments while Reigen is already yawning and wanting to head to bed without eating dinner

Serizawa and Reigen genuinely love and admire each other, Serizawa respects Reigen for his moral code and for his bravery to be able to run up to the most powerful esper and face him down despite being so vulnerable himself. Reigen respects Serizawa for his accountability, for his courage and drive to change despite being hurt for so long.

Serizawa is 100% aware Reigen doesn't have any powers but is waiting till Reigen feels secure enough to tell him but because of this he makes sure to be careful when out on missions, if a spirit gets a bit too close to Reigen it will be exorcised in a second.

Reigen always helps Serizawa when he can when it comes to studying and his test even when he’s confused too he works hard to help Serizawa. Sometimes they’ll have little studying sessions where Reigen just testes Serizawa, and he’s pretty good to be honest

When Serizawa found out Reigen could sing he wanted nothing more than to hear more of it. He had first it when he woke up a bit earlier than normal and heard him singing as he came out of the shower, sometimes he’ll ask him to sing just to listen to his voice and admire it. Reigen’s a bit embarrassed by it but Serizawa always seems to enjoy it so he lets himself relax and sing. It’s been years since he’s sang so much and so openly

Serizawa still likes to play video games a lot and although Reigen is a much more casual player he’ll sit and watch and cheer and curse more than Serizawa and he acts as a blind spot spotter at random times he’ll go “missed one on your left, top building”. Serizawa is grateful for this. And when they play co-op together online its a blood bath

One moment Reigen recalls so clearly as a moment he was falling more in love with Serizawa is one day when out of no where it begun to rain and neither of them brought an umbrella. Reigen had cursed angrily complaining that the weatherman was wrong about the storm passing over but as he rambled ducking for cover he realized Serizawa wasn't next to him. When he turned around Serizawa was looking up to the sky, letting the rain fall down on his face and after a moment he closed his eyes with a gentle smile on his face. After snapping out of he he rushed over to Reigen to duck under the cover. But the imagine of Serizawa staring up into the sky with rain falling around him and down his face stayed with him

One moment Serizawa recalls as a moment he was falling in love with Reigen more was one day in December when Reigen had gotten a bit tipsy and as they were heading home for the night Reigen spotted a dog and getting excited he tried to chase after the dog to pet him only to slip on ice and drag Serizawa down with him into the snow. They both had been shocked for a moment but then Reigen burst out into giggles before reaching up to wipe some snow off of Serizawa’s nose. He had been so happy he floated them both in the air the snow still on them.

When they eventually move in together, Serizawa as a surprise takes Reigen on a date...to an animal shelter. Reigen ended up adopting a cute little dog and Serizawa accidentally adopted a kitten after getting attached

In their new home they made it very fun, when they painted together they threw paint at each other and made fun of how the other painted and Serizawa used his powers to move furniture,sometimes Reigen would jump onto of of the objects and just let Serizawa float him around. That whole week they spent a lot of it dancing and singing and goofing off but they were also drained by the end of it

Serizawa and Reigen love to go on hikes together so on their spare time off they go hiking up the mountains as far as they can go and sometimes even camp out. Reigen can start a great fire and get some food and tea cooking and Serizawa can set up the tent nicely. They like to sit outside with the fire and look up to the night sky, they point at stars and talk about useless facts about the universe

Reigen likes to make sure Serizawa catches up on all the years that he’s missed, all the Halloweens, all the Christmas, birthday parties, family trips, etc. so sometimes they’ll have spontaneous events, for Halloween Reigen helped them get their costume theme together and decided to take the kids to a Halloween Festival with a costume contest. Serizawa had never been to one but he loved helping with the costumes, he actually sowed a lot of the accessorizes himself and worked really hard for it.

→ History Skylar was dropped off at a fire station outside of Kalamazoo, Michigan on a rainy night when she was just days old. She was placed into foster care when her parents missed their grace period. She had a typical foster child life but soon after not being adopted after 12, Skylar gave up. Instead of allowing herself to age out of foster care at 18, Skylar was emancipated at the age of 16. She had earned and saved enough money from summer jobs and after school jobs to ask for early assistance during her transition from foster care to independence. They helped her with housing and she received state assistance with food and medical care. She had witnessed first hand many of her foster brothers and sisters aging out and either ending up on drugs, homeless, arrested, and/or pregnant; and those were the lucky ones. Skylar graduated at 17 and started working full time as a server and part time as a package handler. She debated on going to college since the state would pay for her tuition but she was barely keeping her head above water with two jobs and bills to pay. It was on her 21st birthday when she was promoted to assistant manager and could finally afford to quit her second job and start her bachelors at the local community college. It was also at that age that the government had stopped all of her assistance. She was finally out of the danger zone and fully an adult in their eyes.

It was days after her Summer 2019 graduation that Skylar made the choice to leave Michigan. There was nothing there for her but bad memories. She was unsure if her parents were people she communicated with everyday, professors at her college or strangers eating at her restaurant. It was slowly driving her crazy and she had to leave. All she had was her bank card, ID, High School and College diplomas and a few pictures. Everything else in her one bedroom studio was generic. She left her sheets and dinnerware but packed up her toiletries and a change of clothes in her backpack. She was going to start a new life. Michigan was a standstill for her and deep down she knew something was missing. As she headed to the bus station, planning on picking the next big bus out of state, something called her to the edge of Lake Michigan. She always had a dire need but never acted on it. Since she was leaving town, Skylar didn’t want to regret never following that one gut instinct. It was also a good trip to help clear her stormy mind. She was unsure if what she was doing was absolutely the right idea. She wasn’t really close to the water when a force pulled her in. She never learned to swim but whatever it was, was dragging her further and further out as people shouted and yelled for her.

Skylar was fighting for her life like she never did before. She was screaming and in a full panic. The water was either fighting her or invisible hands were pulling her out deeper into Lake Michigan. The coldness of the water was becoming too much and Skylar was ready to breath in. It felt like hours. She could no longer see any lights and felt herself fading away while thousands of arms carried her across the water. A massive wave hit her in her face and she woke up with a start. The arms were gone and she could see the shore but that didn’t mean she learned how to swim. Skylar resumed her yells as she ate salt water, wave after wave. She thought it was an angel that eventually found her. → The Present Skylar has recently been introduced to the Supernatural world and is trying to take in as much as she can. She has learned that she is a witch and has the power of Aquakinesis. Skylar is still trying to wrap her head around the concept of animal and human shifters, vampires and hunters. Thankfully, Audo has been beside her as she tries to learn and catch up. Emmett, Lyla, Eric, Jace, Ryan and Judson have dropped off multiple books for her to read and have been filling her head with crazy stories and warnings. Eric has offered to take her in since they share the same Lasiter mark which means he may possibly be her uncle. Skylar knows what it's like to have an adoption fall through and isn’t trying to get her hopes up.

Jace has taken it upon himself to watch over her until she is of proper mentoring age or until she has a better understanding of their world to choose a mentor of her own. Skylar has met the girls mentoring under him and heard their testimonies but is unsure how to tell them that she disliked older dominant male figures. Audo, Judson, Ryan and Emmett have soft features and kind smiles to offer while Jace eyes scream old and wise; plus he never smiles. She doesn’t know how long it’ll take to switch and doesn’t feel like insulting anyone in the new world she has found herself in. Both Audo and Judson have mentioned having multiple mentors or mentors in general that do not have powers in their same range but master in physical magic they're interested in.
