i’ve decided that post-canon Ed and Winry keep a little flock of chickens and it’s mostly a bunch of sweet hens that they and the kids dote on, but they also have a tiny yellow bantam rooster which Ed is in a FEUD with. they are NEMESES. this creature keeps escaping from the run and getting into things he shouldn’t and pecking at Ed’s ankles every chance he gets. the kids love him and ‘accidentally’ let him into the house where he causes utter chaos. Ed insists this is the most vile creature in the world. but of course everyone else who sees their altercations is just like “Ah. He has found a kindred spirit.”

Salieri’s minions want to make their sulking creator feel better and since they remember for sure that presence of a cloaked man in a hat makes him feel better they just go wander chaldea on quest to find said person

dantes somewhere on background tracked little thieves out of curiosity only to find a slightly panicking salieri arguing with his minions dressed in his cape and hat and when salieri turns away he just tugs them back to take their place and when salieri turns back he’s nose to nose with actual dantes while minions are laying down on floor in a pile of their tiny bodies and Dantes’ cape and hat

In response to an ask a while back, I wrote that chain of events analysis to get to a position on ‘whether or not Lizzie was to blame for Grace’s murder’ - Lizzie/Angel as precipitating event, but ultimately the dual decisions that drove the fatal outcome being John (and Arthur) escalating and Vicente deciding the assassination would occur at a public event.

but I was contemplating that, when I was doing that, I *could* actually go back even further to work out why Tommy was even in that position in S3 in the first place — and it comes back to Campbell deciding, just prior to S2, that he was deliberately going to return to Birmingham to progress his career but *specifically* and *for no other reason* than to fuck with Tommy Shelby.

I mean, Campbell could have gone anywhere. And, he could have ‘Chosen’ multiple other avenues which didn’t include deciding to terrorise Tommy. Tommy did have his own personal plan for certain illicit activities in S2 (the Sabini arc) but they were heightened, escalated and made significantly more perilous by Campbell’s introduction of the other arc and a very compressive timeline; if no Campbell, Grace comes back, Tommy isn’t abducted at the end of S2, he gets on with legitimising much faster with no Russian plot introduction in S3, less pressure, less trauma, doesn’t have a breakdown, maybe comes to peace with the war trauma, etc. S2 he did show these signs of *maybe* getting on top of it all, but the s2 ending kicked him off that cliff he was climbing.

S1 *was* precipitated by Tommy hiding the guns, so *knowing* Campbell in the first place comes back to Tommy’s initial illegal act — but pretty much the rest of Tommy’s disasters can be traced back within six degrees of separation to S2 Campbell *deciding* he was gonna get himself back to Birmingham and mess that Tommy Shelby around.

there is something extremely amusing in the way that whenever someone tries to hurt / kill nick, he is just very welcoming to the act. he may ridicule them and be a sarcastic asshole about the whole ordeal but along the way this man truly has lost any sort of sense of self preservation.
