Plea for Safety: A Cry from the Heart of Gaza

In its eighth month, Gaza appears defeated, trapped between walls of destruction and the cries of children. It is enveloped in deep sorrow, gripped by constant fear, and its walls speak a language of muffled screams. War is harsh. 😢

How can I protect my mother and siblings from this hell? How can I get them out of the horrors of war and bring them back to safety? My heart bleeds with indescribable pain, and my eyes see the scenes of suffering my people endure in this shattered land. 💔

My mother is the light that guides me through the darkest nights. How can war extinguish this light? How can my heart be at peace when it fears for the safety of those I love? I want them to be well, I want them to be safe, but war takes without mercy and destroys without pity. 😔

I want to get them out of this hell. I want to see them well. Please help me save my mother, my father, and my siblings. 🙏

Held: Under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of Presidential power entitles a former President to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority. Hello, I want to tell you about my story. My name is Mahmoud Helles. I have been a refugee in Belgium for 7 years. I live in a refugee center and do not have residency in Belgium. I left Gaza and left my pregnant wife. I didn't see my baby when he was born and I wasn't there. He is now 6 years old and I have 4 children, the eldest of whom is 13 years old. I have no childhood memories with my children, and I fear I will be deprived of them. My wife suffers from kidney problems, her left kidney was removed, and she now lives with one kidney. Also, due to the war and the lack of treatment, her health has deteriorated, and if I lose his life, my children will remain in Gaza homeless, without their mother and their expatriate father for that. I am collecting donations to save my family and get out of Gaza to Egypt. I appeal to you and to every person who sympathizes with my children💔

Throughout the first five months of the war, both my big sister and my sister in law had been pregnant. They had to endure constant displacement and unspeakable horrors on top of pregnancy discomforts. The few times I was able to reach my sister, she would keep praying not to go into labor before that nightmarish reality ended.

Sadly, things did not go her way. The war was raging when she gave birth to beautiful baby Ossama, and it still is ongoing. Almost at the same time my brother and his wife had sweet baby twin girls, Ritaj and Rital. The three little angels are rocked to sleep by the sound of bombs and buzzing drones instead of lullabies. Due to the unsanitary conditions in their tent and formula scarcity, the newborns have been constantly suffering from acute respiratory infections as well as slow weight gain. The only medical care they were getting was that of an overcrowded field hospital with limited resources, and even that is now denied to them as my family has been forcibly evacuated again from Rafah to Khan Yunis where nothing is left but rubble.

As you may well know, many babies in Gaza are lost while waiting for consideration. The doctors previously insisted that the little ones would fail to thrive and fully recover if they stayed in the same unhealthy environment.

Despite everything, these babies are a source of hope and strength for us. Please don't let them fade away. My family is barely holding on for their sake and that of their older brothers and sisters.

We would be forever grateful for any kind of support.
