Would have a bit of hard time with letting you know if something is bothering him. Like say there’s dishes piling up in the sink because of you he’d have to retreat to his room and really think it over and over about how he’s gonna tell you it’s bothering him as to not make you feel bad about it.

Clingy roommate, but not in an annoying way. He just likes to do the mundane house tasks together. Like yes he could eat dinner whenever he wants but he’d rather wait till you get home and make a fun evening out of cooking together.

Yes he could also just tell you what he needs from the grocery store since you’re already going but give him a few minutes cause he’s getting ready to come with you just to follow behind you with the shopping cart (he also does not correct the older lady who said you guys are such a cute couple).

Roommates with benefits and no not in that way. More in a way of whenever the other person needs help with something there’s no questions asked and you guys help each other out. Guy won’t stop bothering you? Hao is now your pretend boyfriend. He needs a plus one to a wedding so his family will stop asking weird invasive love life questions? You are wedding guest dress shopping together the next day.

It might seem slightly transactional to other people but it’s really not. You guys just enjoy each other’s company and get along very well. You guys are there for each other when needed. The both of you know that when it comes down to it the other has your back (basically besties but both of you think the other has other friends they prefer when thats not the case lol).

Friendliest roommate ever. Would deffo invite you out with his friends if he sees you sitting at home on the weekend without any plans. I feel like he would make a very convincing case on why you should go out if you’re hesitant.

Definitely would not pressure you at all though if you don’t feel like it and even stays home with you from time to time cause he can also appreciate a night in where its just the two of you playing games.

Real roommate, exactly what it says. He keeps it real with you and doesn’t really sugarcoat things. It took you a bit of time to get used to but you realized it was exactly what you needed sometimes.

The perfect guy to go to for some free therapy. Cause while he’s very encouraging and caring he will never lie to you. If he thinks that something isn’t right for you he will tell you to your face. Especially great for if you’re an overthinker and just need someone to snap you out of it.

If his normal approach doesn’t work though he doesn’t mind just sitting there and being a listening ear for you as well as being a great distraction for if you just don’t wanna think at all lol.

Bestie roommate !!! I feel like he would be a little slow with warming up to you but once he does he would give you the shirt off his back. And you would do the same for him of course. Whenever you need him he is there and when he needs you you’re there for him. The most loyal friend in my humble opinion !!!

Whenever there’s a new restaurant or cafe you wanna try he’s the first person you think of asking and when he needs opinions on a new clothing item he immediately texts you a picture to ask your opinion (if you’re not already there in the store with him which is more likely).

Brother type of roommate more specifically annoying little brother. Like he LOVES to come into your room and just stand there. If you have guy friends over he 100% tries to make it as awkward as possible.

Don’t get me wrong though, he might be annoying sometimes but he also really cares about you and is actually quite protective of you. If you’re out late at night he will offer to come pick you up and walk home with you.

Literally the perfect roommate, not only in the fact that living with him is very easy as he keeps the common area clean and is generally just a great roommate. But he also just seems perfect? It just seems like he has his life together. He’s on top of his studies, he meal preps and works out whenever he has time and has a well thought out plan for the future.

While this might be a bit intimidating in the beginning you’ll quickly learn that his positive attitude and his organized and proactive lifestyle is quite infectious. He makes you want to better yourself and he is more than happy to help you with this. From time to time though you guys reverse the roles and you help him let loose a little telling him that he’s doing great and he’s allowed to live a little more recklessly and do what makes him truly happy.

Ghost roommate, at the beginning of you guys living together you barely noticed he was there. Though whenever u knocked on his door to ask for help with something he’d be ready in a second. You need help lifting boxes? He’s there.

As the months pass by he shows more of himself and his personality which grow to be very fond of. Hes just a silly little guy ! Hes so funny without realizing it and gets a bit embarrassed when you’re laughing at something he did (when he didnt even mean to be funny) but you quickly reassure him that you’re not laughing at him but with him. Just an overall joy to be around.

Imagine being Ruggie sister who somehow got in to night raven as a student and everything progress on and them as a Ramshackle perfect due to them being a kind person like Tanjiro and strong yet but of a nerd liked Deku with a unique magic of growing plants

Zwillingstürme im Herbst Thoughts

ZT to me, is a story of endings. Not just the factual endings of eras, Arts, and songs. But also the great question of "What happens after the end?"

Each major character faces an ending in this story. Leithanien faces the end of both the Kaiserinnen and the truest finale of the Witch King. The Liches end their stay in the country. Viviana comes to terms with her Leithanien heritage, Ebenholz frees himself from all of his demons, and Arturia, well, we'll get to Arturia.

One of the most notable things is how this story treats hope and the indomitable human spirit. Unlike other stories, it does not praise humanity and treat them as some unstoppable limitless force by virtue of their emotions. Instead, it takes a very nuanced approach that's informed by how powerless these characters can actually get. Sure they can charge forward towards their goals but they'll still die and they'll still be faced with darkness and regrets. Even still, we should embrace our emotions and the turmoil they bring.

The Genesis Horn and Kagenreich are such interesting ideas but it can feel weird that much of the climax is emotional conflicts made manifest. Viviana's is the most obvious. The constant doors to possible new lives culminating in her real one. She comes to let go of the past and stand for herself which is nice. It's also nice that it was Margaret's light that helped her fight back the darkness. An exquisite call-back to the Radiant Knight.

Ebenholz helped to paint a very unique lesson in my opinion. That suffering doesn't NEED meaning. Even after promising Kreide that he'd live and fight fate, he's still plagued by headaches and Witch King Remnants. The revelation that whatever was in his head, the Voice of Mundane, was just a mundane voice upends many of the things we've (us and Ebenholz) assumed about his life. That his suffering was tied to the Witch King and that his conflict would culminate in a big fight against the man whose shadow terrorized him. Instead they have a heart to heart and the Witch King challenges him to look back on his life and realize that "the night itself is meaningless." It is totally fine to have a terrible thing just be a terrible thing and moving on doesn't have to involve a great trials to overcome, sometimes your enemies kill themselves and you just walk away.

Arturia is the most interesting but I'm afraid I can't do her full arc justice. In contrast to his accommodating spin with Ebenholz, the Witch King challenges Arturia at every turn, questioning her motive and why she wants what she does. It comes to a head when he forcefully dives into her and sees that there is only one thing that stirred her own emotions. Everything else is a mirror of someone else. He ultimately gives her the answer she's looking for and the natural doubt that comes when the answer she found didn't meet her expectations. But her bouncing back as chaos descended was beautiful and I might reread this and Hortus just to really grasp her character.

Cora and Brandt, Hildegard and Lisellote (no idea how to, spell the Kaserinnen's surnames), Michel, Lessing, and the Liches. All sorts of stories come to a close as new beginnings emerge. And the most troublesome of them is definitely the makings of the newest source of conflict: the Disaster, the encroaching of chaos upon reality and the return of the supposed Creator.

It's quite likely that that may be the angle of the next major story arc, especially with the role Nearl's light played and the fact that Laterano is trying so hard to unite the nations.

This event was great and I recommend it. Not sure if I have any major notes or ideas to share but I really liked it.

One last thing: seems people are kinda wary of Lisellote, the Eternal Grace. I love it when the supposedly fluffier one has the greater potential of evil

Meguro hasn’t and most likely won’t (if it wasn’t for you) feel love before. His heart is already mangled as well as his brain but when he’s with you, he feels a little more at ease. He feels like he’ll be okay and trust me - that’s weird coming from MEGURO MASAKI.

Now, Meguro would definitely stay reserved (or at least try) and for the most part, he’ll think that you’re not dating which puts him at an advantage but he’s in for a surprise. Let’s just say for short, Meguro hates sharing. Absolutely despises it.

Gets so jealous it makes others around him jealous too. He first envies your partner. Why would you choose them instead of him? He was much better in his opinion (that may or may not be right..)

Meguro literally does everything and anything to get your attention. He’ll first start off subtle, just asking you questions about your self until he’s litterally giving you flowers (that he found on the side of the road). He really tries to display his love to you in multiple ways, both in the ways you find normal and the ways he finds normal. He is definitely a handful.

Whenever he’s around you, you literally feel his eyes burning into your eyes. His stare is intense, as if he’s claiming you right in front of everyone. So trust me, it definitely takes you for a rollercoaster when you get the tingling sensation all throughout your body; warning you of the potential danger in front of you. Bad thing that you ignored it.

Now, ideally, you are supposed to fall in love with him. Leave your partner and go run away with him but obviously you don’t. You tell him that you’re already in a relationship. And he doesn’t take that for an answer at all..

He definitely keeps trying. If your partner tries to interfere, he will definitely get salty. He’ll feel like you’re leaving him and he won’t want that to happen so if you use your inference skills, you can guess what he did.

Now you’re devastated and absolutely dumbfounded. You’re scared and terrified. This guy you basically just turned down just killed the person you called spouse. So now what do you do? Well, try and stay away from him.

But that doesn’t work out. Now that Meguro thinks that his competition is gone, his advances will be much more targeted and straightforward. He will definitely tell you he loves you and has for a long time. Probably doesn’t come out with the fact that he watches you sleep follows you around.

Now eventually he’ll ask you to be his partner and he’ll EXPECT a yes. If you even mutter a no, he’ll zone out. So it’s better for you to choose the safer way than the dangerous way. You’re not trying to live fast, die young.

NYX #2 Review

Spoilers!

Sadly this is a week late- life has been getting hectic and my subscriptions on Kindle never seem to work lol (I had originally meant to write up commentary on the podcast episode before issue two dropped and still haven’t finished it 😔)… but let’s dive in!

The issue starts with Laura monologuing as she takes down some random thug.

You’ve probably ALREADY saw the sample pages of this issue (especially if you follow my tumblr lol) but the girl Laura is trying to save doesn’t want to leave with her, saying they’re “friends” and that if Laura needs help too, she just needs to go “local” (Foreshadowing….Laura’s bad taste in men possibly strikes AGAIN 😂🤣)

We see Laura hanging out at some dilapidated place in East Harlem…(what happened to Logan’s old apartment that she shared with Gabby? Did they sell it during the Krakoa era…because Logan PROBABLY had locked in rent from like the 70’s…that was a horrible decision Laura…like do you know HOW hard it is to find non-brokered housing in NY anymore??!) 

Laura is thinking about Kiden (and in goth clothes again!) as she tracks down some mysterious figure (sadly not a green telekinetic!) in Bushwick (also shout out to one of my favorite spots in NY!)…

At an underground club, we’re introduced to Local. Local is…interesting (people weren’t wrong about the Gambit comparisons lol). Laura convinces him to get her a call with Local’s boss, Mr. Smiley…but Kamala randomly pops up with Anole and Sophie in tow!

Laura gets pissed as Kamala tried to talk about the “mysterious telekinetic” (Laura doesn’t want to talk about her previous secret EX Kamala!) and calls them “Kamala’s little friends” (DON’T be MEAN to ANOLE, Laura!); telling Kamala to stay out of it and not blow her cover….

Laura has fun committing crimes with Local; obviously reminded of her time with Kiden. (If Laura had a crush on any girl…it was PROBABLY Kiden guys lol)

Local’s last challenge before she can meet “Mr. Smiley” is stealing whatever is in Orchis’s Essex building; Laura challenges him that for everything she breaks, he has to tell her some truth.

It’s a kind of sweet and interesting moment, where readers get to see how easy it would be for Laura to slide into the old ways of “X-Force” or “NYX”…

Yet Prodigy drops reality on Laura- that this isn’t who she is anymore. You can’t live in the past.

Laura meets Mr. Smiley…who is really….you guessed it! (I totally didn’t lol!)…Mojo!

Laura gets beaten…BADLY…and retreats.

(Also we get one of the LOVELIEST panels EVER!) 

The issue ends with Laura realizing that she can’t do it alone- contacting Kamala and Sophie.

 Review:

I for one…kind of wish we had gotten a Laura solo issue this time around; I think it was needed and could have been akin to “Zuko Alone”, Logan’s “Patch” era, or X-Men # 182, where Rogue breaks into Shield…it’s been a while since writers really explored Laura’s psyche…

In some ways the weird pop up of Kamala drags the story a bit- this should have just been written as happening weeks before issue #1, in my opinion.

While I liked the ending…it somehow felt too soon a realization for Laura…I kind of wish they had played with the “loner” bit, dragged it on a little bit longer…

Another tiny critique- I really can’t stand Laura swearing. So many writers try to make it work…but it just doesn’t work. It just doesn’t really suit her, in my opinion. (Stop trying to make “fetch” happen lol)

Still, I think this issue is really solid. Laura is really nicely written and it’s probably the closest we’ve come to Kyle levels in a while.

Laura realizing “you can’t go back”….is something that’s really great to play with. It’s something everyone struggles with, when the “good times” pass. Laura can’t move on from her past…yet she can’t go back to it either. She can’t be the person she was.

Local also definitely plays into Laura’s nostalgia of Liu era adventuring with Gambit as well as Kiden… it makes sense why she would gravitate to him.

I actually like the addition of Local and hope he ends up being a regular (much better than Catwoman’s recent terrible love interest!) 

The Prodigy ending was a sucker punch and REALLY wonderfully done! Using David, an old NYM connection as a source of guilt (and David ALWAYS was the voice of reason!) was really excellent; even if there wasn’t much interaction between the two in the original NXM. The only thing that COULD have made it better…was if it had been Dust, Mercury, or Elixir…but that’s a nit pick.

NXM was the turning point for Laura, so it makes sense that someone from THAT time would “wake her up” a bit….

Overall, I would say it’s definitely a solid issue…I think there’s minor things they could have changed, but it’s still a better ���Laura” than we have seen in a while.

Mojo is totally going to use Local to get to Laura…

Krakellion’s mission is deeper than making NYC the next Krakoa; they’re actively fighting against Mojo…

But when Fritz gives his opinions on sensationalism, she realizes what she is doing and stops. Considering the movies don't really talk about what Jo is actually writing about. I can't remember off the top of my head, but murder is mentioned. It can't exactly be all pretty stuff. It is easy to think that Fritz is a generous snob. He is not. People were less desensitized in the 1860s and 70s than in 2022. Fritz is less a genre snob and more not wanting people, specifically children, scared at a formative age.

End quote. When the book Jo is in New York, she actually has two editors. The first editor wants her to write sensationalism. Stories that Jo herself calls trash. The second editor only wants her to write moralistic tales, which is not something that Jo is that into either and it is Friedrich who helps her to find her own way of writing. Why the filmmakers don't show this conflict that Jo has with her editors? And kinda portray Friedrich in a bad light when in the book it is the opposite? That is a very good question.

Sinem: Hello, I'm Sinem. I really love Little Women and I also really love the chapters that involve Friedrich and Jo. I was born in Germany. I really love the way Friedrich talks in the novels and yes, I also love this chapter we're going to analyze.

Niina: Yes, I love it too. It's one of my favorites and I also think it's very romantic for everybody who says that Jo and Friedrich aren't romantic. I recommend reading that chapter again. I think the problem is, is that it's not really in the adaptations, but it's so good, it should be there.

Sinem: Yes, definitely. I think mostly in the movies or adaptations I've watched, mostly it’s like Friedrich goes to visit Jo and then that's the end, it's like only one day, whereas in the

novels, it continues. Their partnership continues. Even at the home, not only in New York, but it's also where Jo lives, they have this extreme and powerful bond and it only grows as the longer he stays there.

Niina: Even when Jo leaves New York, they have continued writing letters and I think you can only see that in some of the TV versions, because in the movies you just see them arguing and then they stop communicating, which is really weird, because that doesn't happen in the book at all. Some of the TV shows, they do show that they continue writing these letters and when Friedrich comes to Concord, he's actually there for two weeks or something, courting her.

Sinem: I actually have to say that I really like this chapter, really and I also think it is very important that Louisa May Alcott decided that even when they were apart, they continued writing letters to each other and in the chapter before, Jo reads a letter from Friedrich and she's like, oh, if only he would come and it's like a wish come true to her.

Niina: Exactly. It's this secret wish that she has, that he would return back her life.

Sinem: Yes, and I also think it's very important, because Jo literally craves her company in this chapter, but the thing is, she has her mother with her and also her father, but she even says that she wants to try all kinds of love that exists. She isn't really satisfied any longer with only the love of her mother, of her parents or of her sisters.

Niina: The previous chapter is called All Alone, there's really this long monologue, that she has about how lonely she is and how she longs to find love and I think she says that her heart is so elastic and she would like to try what romantic love feels like. This is such a misunderstood part about Little Women. We have discussed about this before, that people really do not seem to read the book at all when they talk about Jo wanting to be independent or whatever.

Sinem: Yes, and to be honest, I think, even if you are person, a woman, but she already has a partner, it doesn't make them not independent. I mean, relationships can enrich people, and that is the same with Jo, infatuation enriches her, but she still has her independence, and they live together in a very beautiful harmony.

Niina: Yes, and if Jo would have married Laurie, that's when she would have lost her independence completely.

Sinem: I think because Laurie was demanding at that time. You have to take care of me, you are the mother to me, you will take care of me 24 hours a day, and when I'm angry, you will do whatever I want you to, etc. I also think in this chapter, she completely forgets to compare Friedrich to Laurie, and I think it's also a funny thing, because she has idealized Laurie very much, but in the end, she stayed true to herself, and she fell in love with Friedrich, because he is the right man for her. Laurie at that time was not a man. He himself states it in that chapter.

Niina: Also, in this chapter, there is an apology from Laurie, which I find very feminist-thing for Louisa to write, but like we have discussed in this podcast, and you and I have discussed this in our private discussions, this is one of those things that is not in the adaptations either, because Laurie is so incredibly idealized. I think the only version where Laurie apologizes to Jo is the BBC series from 1970s, and most people have not even heard from it, so I am very glad that I get to discuss about the chapter Surprises with you today, because I think this is a completely overlooked chapter.

Sinem: I agree. I also think this chapter is very important for the growth of Laurie, because we have seen him evolving and growing and improving, but this is the climax, because he not only acknowledges his mistakes to himself in the others chapters, but he also acknowledges them to Jo, when he says, I was making a mistake at that time, and I'm sorry, because I think it is, like you said, first of all, very feminist to acknowledge it, that he forced her to be in some things she was not, but it is also very important, because I don't think in many adaptations you don't really see his growth, and it's actually very sad, like there is kind of an apology, I guess, but it doesn't really feel right, because then again in the movies, he never did anything wrong.

I know you liked Blue Sky, but what is your opinion on Chelley as a ship? Do you ship the them?

I am saving most of my asks for when I can draw tomorrow but this one is more personal so I won’t illustrate it. Honestly? I don’t think anyone in portal, in canon, should / needs to be shipped with anyone. The story wouldn’t be improved with it, so there’s that, I don’t feel like anyone really needs to be together or whatever.

Chelley is definitely a ship that had to grow on me, I can only see it happening under specific circumstances and I’m not really one for human x inanimate non-human object so Wheatley being humanoid also is a necessity for me for me to enjoy it. overall though? I think if it’s done right it’s incredible, I’m a sucker for hetero ships that go against your usual stereotypes and this really can go a lot of ways, and can really dig into both Wheatley and chell as characters in ways that I feel the games simply couldn’t in any scenario! Chell is super put together and stern, Wheatley is very all over the place and can really use someone stable like chell to help him with any anxiety he would have, and she gets some weird little loser who she finds charming, win win.

Tl;dr I ship them in certain scenarios when Wheatley is more expanded as a character, I feel like they can work!! And they can work in lots of AUs too and stay pretty truthful.

Wheatley head canons is a toughie, I do feel like he’s the most shallow of the three main characters, not in a bad way, but you know everything he’s about by the end of the game really. I like the idea he was programmed to destroy himself after however long not plugged into chell, the scientists sort of just set him loose for some menial task thats out of the way and waited for him to break down, but he was so bad at it that he ended up not being able to / forgetting, so he assigned himself like “mhm yep I’m looking over the humans that’s what I do.” He calls them smelly because most of them are, well, corpses by the time he gets to many of them.

I also think that he likely has a Swiss Army knife of random functions that he can do that he still thinks he will die if he does them, like he’s just some generic core they downloaded some idiot AI into, they didn’t want Glados letting him eject (don’t eject from your rail or you will die) or using any other of his functions to her advantage, but instead of disabling them, which would take, you know, work- they just told him he would die.

hi hi i have so many Thoughts that i will definitely miss Something but. lots of things. spoilers for ep1 under the cut obvs.

why is every ship getting crumbs. literally all of them. what is wrong with everyone wtf. (except treebark. treebark girlies stay losing)

new mechanic is insanely hype and i am going a little bit feral over it. i've been wanting a UHC-style season for a long time and this seems a great way to kind of. entertainment-fy it i suppose? cus as much as i wanted straight up UHC i can totally understand why players like joel or skizz or scar would struggle hard in that sort of ruleset and it wouldn't be very fun to watch as a result.

i'm a bit.. tentative about the more acknowledgment of the Lore this time around? On one hand i love it and i think it's incredibly cool but on the other hand i know well that lore can eat a series alive if let out of control. Especially when fans start getting pushy about their theories and disappointed when inevitably things aren't as explained or thoroughly confirmed or straight up forgotten. (<-- fnaf fan. i have seen it. it is horrible)

that being said i have trust in grian specifically to handle it well and not go off the deep end with it cus a good chunk of the viewers don't know/care for the lore and if it becomes a Big Thing then a lot of people are gonna end up feeling alienated and confused.

i LOVED Bigb's episode and i think it's like. the ideal way to incorporate lore into a series like this. the way you can Feel that something is off rather than it being explicitly shown. you can choose to write it off or dig deeper. it's good juice. I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again -- Bigb is easily one of the strongest roleplayers on the entire server and his editing REALLY sells it hard. He really melts into what's happening rather than getting up on a platform and shouting THIS PART IS IMPORTANT. LOOK AT ME. which i really appreciate as a kind-of honorary former theatre kid.

but yeah tl;dr i think lore/fan theories should be left to the fandom mainly otherwise it starts getting weird. that being said i trust the life series ppl and can't wait to see what's going on with this season.

now if i may be unhinged myself. i def agree with the theory that Something is up with Bigb's task and maybe whatever gave it to him is trying to mess with the game.

Bigb and Mumbo specifically I felt were acting.. a little OOC the whole episode? Bigb was very much on purpose i think and i reckon mumbo's just excited to be back lol but its fun to think about

the task system has a lot of potential for. fanfic symbolism fuel. i mentioned this on my spam blog i think but something something about the way the players' tasks almost seem to. mock them? a little bit?

like pearl's being to "earn" people's hearts after she failed to make any connections throughout double life and has been somewhat isolated the whole series. bdubs being known for his efficient and beautiful builds being told to make something ugly and useless. scott being implicitly called a parasite with his history of teaming and latching onto one specific person each season. etc. etc.

the teams this time around are looking interesting and i think it's worth noting how it almost feels like.. the opposite of limlife a bit? with how slow and cautious everyone has to play. it seems like over half the server haven't really even joined up with anyone yet which is intriguing. (im personally praying for a scar/jimmy team up. just cus scott said they wouldn't make it lol)

which is great for me cus i loved limlife but the chaoticness of everything did kind of. make deaths less impactful i think? if i see another sky bridge i might scream

im very. of two minds about the scott and impulse team up. because if you dig through my blog you'll see i have kind of a history of being unhinged about those two and their parallels. but i have the sneaking suspicion that their actual dynamic will be like nothing i had in mind lmao

“hey jungkook” you say with a smile on your face that sends jungkook’s heart into a frenzy. he wants you to look at him like that forever.

“the trio has finally reunited! being a duo isn’t much fun” says a pouty eunwoo.

“hey! that’s your second time calling me boring”

“listening to you talk about science for half an hour IS boring unless you’re alina. she’s the only exception”

“really? you’ve known me longer than—ugh shut up, eunwoo” you say before turning your attention back to jungkook who can’t help but to laugh along with his friend despite completely disagreeing with his opinion. “well i gotta go. alina wants me to walk with her to class. see you guys later” says eunwoo which leaves you and jungkook alone.

you’ve had plenty of time to let the past events settle and bought a whiteboard to help connect the dots of jungkook being spider-man. although the reasons for thinking so is insignificant, the big takeaway was the force you felt when jungkook shoved you to the floor:

- spider-man called you ‘pretty girl’ and no one else but jungkook calls you that

- spider-man’s lips look exactly like jungkook’s! you’re hoping he doesn’t notice but you’re staring at them right now to draw comparisons. he’s even got the beauty mark in the same place as your best friend’s

- why the fuck is he so strong? you’ve been shoved to the floor and you’ve never been bruised. seriously, his strength is questionable and should be questioned

- remember that ‘secret job?’ yeah, you don’t think it’s real. his ‘secret job’ is being spider-man which is why he’s always so tired

- you never believed a stray cat, thugs, or anyone could/can injure jungkook because of point C. he’s really strong and broke young-jae’s nose which takes a lot of force to do.

you’ll get to the bottom of this even if it means spying on him. jungkook IS spider-man. you just know he is.

A.k.a. now that you’re staring at his lips, he feels the flashbacks of your kiss flooding back in, you are definitely a really good kisser for sure.

And he wants that again but then, why would you kiss your best friend? He can only get you to kiss him if he’s Spider-Man.

He asks, narrowing his eyes, both begin to walk towards your first class of the day. Your major is completely different to his, but he won’t let you go until you answer his question.

“Come on.. did she ask you anything at all? Or did you give you anything at all?” He starts to bombard questions at you.

He just wants to make sure that she won’t hurt you. “I’m just asking because you know I know that you guys are not that close.” he tries to think of an excuse because he will be really careful of her from now on.

And he just wants to make sure that you stay away from her as much as you can. “Yn you know that I love you and she means nothing to me so please can you stay away from her like avoid her at all costs?”

He takes your hand to his face. “Please?”

The person hating on Porter so viscerally and then comparing the lack of hate he receives and the wildfire of hate for Alexis, as if we weren’t supposed to hate on the literal abuser… bad look.

I think it also goes to show you haven’t been paying attention to the hierarchy that’s been set up for us, nor the character you’re talking about. Vincent isn’t violent until violence is called for (saving Lovely from literal torture and to-be-death). He wouldn’t have ‘torn some of Porter’s limbs’ because he’s not sadistic and malevolent. He is someone who is being preened to become a figurehead of a well known vampire family. If he shows himself to be too hot headed, too quick to anger? Not only would he be completely contrasting his character, he would be showing the entire vampire world that he isn’t anywhere near ready to lead. He would be taken less seriously than he already is.

Now, an argument could be made that it’s not what he wants. Vincent doesn’t want to be a King. He doesn’t want to hold all that responsibility. But he also has been shown to be very loyal to William. Very eager to make William happy, and proud. He isn’t subservient but he’s less likely to question William’s decisions. He wants to stay in William’s good graces.

So being needlessly violent goes against Vincent’s morals, ethics, and goals. Sure, he doesn’t get along with Porter, but a punch-on is the MOST you’re going to get from Porter and Vincent, considering their conflict and how (frankly) mild it is. Because it is, their conflict and their fighting is nothing, NOTHING as compared to other conflicts we’ve seen (Alexis-Sam, Quinn-Darlin, etc.) which all feature themes of abuse, and breaking from these cycles (though my thoughts on Alexis-Sam has been made QUITE clear). Vincent is the bigger person in these situations because he is literally, THE bigger person. The one that is being set up to take over. That’s why the summit fell to him. Political warfare doesn’t allow much room for blatant violent and unchecked emotions.

Also, saying Porter is poorly accented is just so weird and definitely not as much of a slight on Porter as it is Erik himself. Porter may have a stranger combination accent than most (he is 100% a mix of European and Australian, from experience) but he’s not poorly accented. In fact, the enunciation on some of the words is done so well in Australian, in a way that is hard to come by. The dialect of European is one that doesn’t contradict the Australian counterpart but rather compliments it. If it was a shit accent, I’d say otherwise. But it isn’t.

I am happy to go more into detail because I love dissecting characters and the building of them, but let’s wrap this one up by saying - yes. You can be annoyed at Porter, and you can think he deserves to die or whatever, your opinions are your own. But to think that’s something Vincent should do is character assassination at it’s finest, and would only be a terribly confusing plot line for Vincent to enact and follow.

Howdy I was that first ask (sorry I'd rather stay anon, bad xmen fandom experiences taught me to keep my opinions to myself or people will go after you personally). I'm only answering now cuz it doesn't look like we got the same timezones : I found your blog after looking up Margali related stuff (I needed this) and saw the reblog with the tag about "messy timeline". I like putting together timeline charts for my favs so I pulled out my Nightcrawler related one (slightly messy from following Si Spurrier's runs) and decided to give a shot to X-Men Blue. Big mistake. I should have listened to you. My 10 years in the making timeline chart is now only good for the dumpster and I'm done with Si.

I sent my ask to you because everyone is very hush hush about these kinds of complains and I just wanted you to know you weren't alone.

Okay so, I don't hate the Golden Child on her own, it's... How she came to be was unnecessary weird (genetically Kurt is as much her grandpa as he is her dad, wtf). What a weird road to go down instead of having her be like Cardinal. You know the chimera engineered from Nightcrawler's DNA +2 mutants that's straight up Azazel with red hair and eyes ? From PoX ? (Not sure if the editors remember him at all)

Funny stuff about Azazel btw, the demon thing was a retcon on his mutant status done after Austen left (he's back to being a mutant since 2019), Azazel keeps close contact with other Winding Way witches than Margali and Nightcrawler's ectrodactyly might have come from him too because he has been shown in a few comics (when doing his behind the scenes scheming with no one else around) to have that at least for his hands and uses his shapeshifting to hide it... I personally never cared about the Baron because he was a nothing character ? Man didn't even have a first name or canon appearance until TAS and his lastname's a plothole. This gets to the point where having him and Azazel turn out to be the same person, like a secret identity to the latter dude, would actually be an improvement and funny idea.

You're right, that "beloved darling child" is a straight up joke when looking at Mystique and Destiny's actions : They adopted and raised Rogue in 616 since she was a CHILD, raised both her and Kurt together in the "Children in the attic" what-if (Scott Lobdell but Mystique didnt throw Nightcrawler into a waterfall to save herself. Still calls Rogue the child she "always wanted" even then) and straight up let Nightcrawler die saving Hope when they were ready to sacrifice her as a baby to save Rogue (Kurt's death was avoidable and Mystique didn't know he'd be back to life like ever).

Mystique also raised Nightcrawler from birth in Age of Apocalypse where everything is Hell and he gets killed (Apocalypse attacks long after he was born so it's the same chain of events until that) and kept close contact and looked after Destiny's many human children, mutant grandchildren and grand-grandchildren throughout the years in 616... To the point of killing Graydon Creed, her biological son which she kept close watch on until his teens, to protect them. Kurt turns out to have been neglected more by her than Graydon at this point following this one shot.

The change made here on the "definite origin story" complicates and contradict stuff for no reason. It also adds another layer of unanswered questions which goes against the point of a definite story

"Why would Mystique and Destiny plan on having this kid, finally have him then straight up abandon him because of a 'sudden vision' when one of them is a precog who checks the future 24/7 to be sure everything goes perfectly fine but apparently kept things going when she saw 0 futures with that baby in it post due-date and never even once wrote about said baby in her future diaries for Mystique to do stuff for him in the future when she was gone (contrary to Rogue the child they adopted) ?" Si Spurrier doesn't care to think about important elements like that and just keeping throwing stuff on a wall to see what sticks

"Why didn't they rescue Nightcrawler before Xavier at any point and recruit him/secretly raise him with Rogue ?" Nightcrawler's first appearance was him literally running away from a mob (canonically not his first) before being saved by Xavier, one of the 3 people Mystique and Destiny were going to assassinate in their first appearance (Days of Future Past) which directly led to Nightcrawler being one of the first (avoidable) mutant casualties of that timeline. So even without years of baggage, these two didn't care about Kurt within their first X-Men issue with him. But sure the answer to this is probably the future vision excuse again I bet...

Well tell that to Margali Szardos, the circus fortune teller who managed to properly raise Kurt and protect him with half the power, wealth, means, knowledge and people. Oh wait we can't cuz she ded (Weird coincidence that the same writer behind this story which tries to make Mystique and Destiny look like the best moms for Nightcrawler turned Kurt's actual good mom into the complete opposite of who she was then unceremoniously killed her...)

Mystique has also spent her time using her knowledge of his origins as way to get him to do stuff for her then lied about them over and over again (this story makes it the third time she lied). Something she never hesitated or regretted doing

Then you have... Krakoa. So much to say. Most recent example ? Mystique and Destiny abandoned Kurt (for the 2nd time now) in the Sins of Sinister timeline when they left the island before he got switched with his sinister clone and Margali did her full corruption thing. They straight up ignored him when he grew horns in present time from beginning to end. He gets mind-controlled, murders people and has to leave to an Orchis filled Earth without keeping in touch with anyone, no reaction whatsoever from them

This reveal just turned Mystique and Destiny from bad to god awful parents in general (it looks like they never cared because they never raised him themselves) and yet the story pretends otherwise

Two, Before I get into anything, Cardinal my beloved, my son, my beautiful beautiful boy, he and god baby should both be canon and like. weird universeally/timeline displaces siblings. A thing about Cardinal that I personally think is an interesting concept is how, being part Rachel (so a descendant of Jean) would make him probably be on the Phoenixes list of favourite hosts, which I think could be interesting with his anti-violence genes (<- whatever the fuck that was). Also they should remember him, since they made Rasputin 4 canon (I have my complaints about her genetic make up too, considering shes part. illyana and piotr.) Yeah, again I completely agree on the neglect paart. The reveal managed to make Destiny and Mystique even more horrible parents, but it's trying to paint them as loving their son, which, is kinda nonsensical with past context. As I said, this retcon at this point in time is bad for the characters BECAUSE of the years of plot from the past. From mystique caring for other children to how they both act towards Kurt throughout things like Krakoa, it doesnt really add up. Plus, what would be the reason for them to not tell him sooner? Did destiny specifically see Kurt get a sick ass magic sword and go "this is incredibly important to the timeline" and thats why they stayed quiet? Having them make destiny and raven be heartbroken about the baby having to go and having the description literally be like "neither of us ever had any kids because of love until we decited to have you" It's a whiplash that could technically work if built up right, but this wasn't built up. Because I do think this could've worked with better set up, but its too late for that.

And yeah no, there have been what-ifs of mystique "successfully" raising Kurt, so it just makes the vision a weirdly cruel plotpoint. Plus that means Destiny is now canonically at fault for all that happened to Kurt, because she knew and actively set it in motion through this retcon. Which. is a wild thing to accidentally do.

Though I do like the moment where Mystique is like "I wished for a daughter", that feels fitting to her and kurts relationship.

Also this does make Kurt doing his "make 'em talk by letting them freefall under the threat of letting them splat" to Destiny funnier. You go boy, threaten matricide!

And man, yeah, Margali wasn't a perfect mom, but we have many scenes of her being a good mom or at least trying to be (specifically for kurt). Shout out to her calling Kurt her specialest boy that one time, she loved her baby. We need a Margali comic about her and her powers honestly, she's canonically one of the strongest sorcerers ever, bound by the moody nature of a living dimension, it would be so interesting to see how the way actually effects her and if she's like, bound to certain actions by the way, lest it destroys her or something. She is the sorcerer supreme of it iirc so there is a very specific connection here, especially since the wandering way is alive. With Kurt having the magic sword now too, it would be interesting for margali to come back (cause lets be real, she isnt gonna stay dead (<- threat. by me. at the comics.) and maybe teach him magic or how to work with magic. Let them actually work out the cracks in their relationship, show that they both do love eachother, but time and everything that has come up just kept tearing at them and margalis laissez-faire nature and following of the winding way didnt really help.

And ya I know that was probably intentional on the writers part, but I think good character design (and what makes all the other characters we know and love so likeable) is the context of what makes them who they are. Ouma is almost completely unknowable, which is just unfortunate because I think there’s a lot of lost potential for who he could have been

In the middle of the city is a gigantic forest where a few years ago happened something terrible, but no one really knows what. Veronika is one of the people who're making sure it stays this way - and Axel is a bit too nosy to her own liking.

This plot is pointless, and it was purely to like make it dramatic and I hate it and fuck Owen basically 

Like they should’ve made it about the couples and build it up for the next season, and that is it shouldn’t have made it about something other than that hate it 

Like I loved all of decay in Talos seen in this episode, because they are just adorable and one of the best couples and just amazing but still

Also, that thing that tk said when he put the ring on Carlos’s finger was adorable so subtle like it came from Jewish culture and I love it and it’s so subtle but they should’ve done like more stuff like this. Should’ve broke a glass like everybody would know it that is a signature thing. Everybody would recognize it. They should’ve done that alongside the ring and the kipa
