God forbid you ever criticize the lack of consequences Bakugou experiences in MHA, or suddenly you’ll find dozens of Bakugou stans pouring into your mentions to make a speech about how cruel you are for forcing him to eat cement. They’ll act as though “consequences” inherently involves throwing him into the dungeon or putting him in detention for 100 years and then moan about how him facing consequences would only perpetuate a cycle of abuse/discrimination.

Listen, it’s not really that much of a consequence if the “consequence” in question isn’t directly connected to his current or past bad behaviour. “Oh but his scars!” “When he died that one time!” “His guilt for getting kidnapped” None of those are related to his bullying, and in my opinion, that makes them insufficient as consequences in an arc about changing for the better.

The consequences I would actually like to see could be as simple as: Izuku feels sad/mad because of what he went through, or certain characters reflect on how Bakugou’s past impacts their perception of him. More introspection on the victim’s end is needed, Bakugou doesn’t necessarily need to be pilloried for the arc to be satisfying.

I keep seeing fanarts of ppl's OC's being on the ship, so do you think that if there was 6st crewmember (specifically, another woman) Anya would've been more safe? Like, someone to actually call Jimmy's begaviour out, someone Anya might wanna trust? Is there a possibility something might have changed (even if a little) or it would not have mattered at all?

I feel like the game would make it part of the commentary on where she would believe and help Anya but still be sort of dismissive? Like the whole “don’t waste time crying and being scared keep going and move on, don’t let him win”. It’s supposed to be positive and reinforcing but sometimes it does more damage in those times of mourning and grief, it feels patronizing, like you don’t understand what you’re going through but they do. Even if they did call out his behavior it’s still on Curly to act and while another voice would help, it’s still 4 against 2 on guys that don’t get it until they have to vs women who always have to.

I don’t mind mouthwashing OCs but I do get a bit bored as they tend to be borderline saviors or like Jimmy aligned. They are either more complicit than Curly or just Jimmy haters for no reason, outside of what the creators know about what he did to Anya. I am never irked by OCs but in a story like mouthwashing you really need to think about what your character adds to the commentary, especially if they are there during the crash. It’s nice to have like characters on Anya’s side more whole heartedly and interesting to see characters who placate Jimmy but sometimes it’s one note.

I can’t and don’t want to police peoples OCs it’s never my intention when I comment on trends I notice, but I do feel like the way people make their OCs interact with these two characters and especially Curly, really show a grave misunderstanding of the narrative and these characters as people vs roles in the story. Still, I know people just make up characters for fun and that’s fine. Great even, but I guys I’m focusing more on OCs that are supposed to have those serious dynamics. My favs tend to be pretty-Tulpar or post-Tulpar au OCs.

The inevitably of the crash is on Jimmy. He did that not because he wasn’t stopped but because all his means to kill Anya were taken. The gun, the axe. Even if Curly did strip him of his co-pilot privileges and try to keep him contained there’s only so many people. An extra body helps but they have jobs they have to do, he’s the only one steering the whole ship and Jimmy would likely have an out: food, bathroom, etc. He’s not new and if he couldn’t crash the ship directly, who’s to say he wouldn’t sabotage something else? A clunker like the Tulpar wouldn’t take much. An extra person helps but it’s just another thing that prolongs what a person like Jimmy is willing to do to shirk responsibility.

It’s more than just needing someone to stand up to him and think that’s what is missing when it comes to inserting a character into the mouthwashing setting.

Good morning. Thinking of a fic where Steve and Tony have been happily married for a few years & very obviously, comfortably devoted to one another, and then Steve gets Stolen Away and replaced by a doppleganger of himself for whatever reason (information gathering purposes idk). And his copy, knowing that Tony would be able to suss out he’s a fake immediately, decides that the only way to circumvent this is to do something that he knows Tony will both never recover from and also guarantee to make him give up on trying to fix things.

So he cheats. Blatantly and repeatedly. And he does actually tell Tony the truth: it’s not even because he particularly wanted to, but because he just needed a way to make Tony leave him alone. He wants out, has for months, but he knew Tony simply wouldn’t take the fucking hint unless he did something drastic. And Tony is like no. No that’s not… you love me. You weren’t… you never seemed unhappy. But steve just waves his hands around as if that proves his point perfectly, and ends their marriage by dumping his ring in the trash and walking away. But this would be like a slow burner agony right, I’m talking 50k+, because not only does Steve cheat, he then starts a relationship with the person he cheated on Tony with (another doppelgänger perhaps). And Tony doesn’t have a choice, he has to keep working with Steve on an avengers basis, has to see him at events and charities with this new woman on his arm and there’s nothing he can do. There is absolutely nothing he can do except paste on a smile and a cocky eye-roll for the cameras and then fall apart into a million billion little pieces in private. And his PR agent says he needs to start bringing plus-ones of his own, his friends tell him to start dating again, but Tony can’t. Physically, spiritually, whatever-the-fuck-else-ly, Tony can’t.

Steve was it for him. It just turns out that Tony was more of a wake-up call than a soulmate for Steve.

BONUS BONUS BONUS if (stealing something from an older fic of mine) there has to be some sort of consciousness-to-consciousness connection in order for the fake Steve to have all the information needed to pass as the real Steve, and so the entire time while this doppelgänger is meticulously and methodically destroying Steve’s life and career and sources of happiness, Steve is stuck in a cell somewhere a million miles away just watching the play-by-play happen. Seeing the flashes of Tony’s absolutely destroyed expressions through his fake-self’s eyes as he’s told by the man wearing Steve’s face that he wasn’t a good husband, that the love was never really there, not in any way that mattered. And there is absolutely nothing that the real Steve can do to stop him saying that with his voice, with his mouth, in his clothes. He is stuck with nothing but the knowledge that it happened.

Chuuya, Fyodor (and Odasaku) are those who got the closest to understanding Dazai, though I believe nobody through the series really got him fully;

Chuuya understood him because of how much time they spent together, Fyodor because of his intelligence and their equality(, while Oda did because dazai desperately wanted him to – he's more open with him than others). Soukoku and fyozai are pretty interesting and deep ships because of it, given that Dazai doesn't really show much vulnerability throughout the show nor manga.

Man, I need more fyozai. And vulnerable Dazai.

Speaking of, I think that Fyozai shows us much more thrown off guard Dazai than we ever get, therefore more of his real vulnerable self. Dazai likes their game at first, but as time passes by, he gets tired of it, and we can see some interesting reactions because of that.

I really, really wish people who don't have the capacity to properly take care of animals would simply accept and acknowledge that about themselves. This isn't even a post of me trying to be mean or judge anyone, I'm sure most people go into getting an animal with good intentions, but intentions and actions are different. If you don't have the time and the space and the care an animal needs, the animal will suffer. The fleeting joy of having a kitten or puppy or anything else doesn't last forever and they aren't toys to be put down and forgotten once you've moved past the inital excitement. If you don't have the ability to properly care for an animal, just accept that and simply admire them from a distance.
