(Group One: Eragon, Arya, Orik, Nasuada)

Nasuada:

Nasuada is the leader. She is often the one to take initiative and keep everyone in line and in order. She is the first to analyze a situation and find a way out, around, or through. She is naturally inclined to be the one to step forward and give orders and direct a situation accordingly, though obviously there are times where she must lose and regain power and respect in an ongoing seesaw of politics and friendship. She sometimes gets caught up in her work and neglects relationships, but is overall a loyal friend and a smart and powerful ally. She is kind at heart, though her duties do not always allow her freedom to show it.

Orik:

Orik is rather caught in a net of three main roles. He can be the comedian and he can be social when the situation requires or allows. However, he knows when the situation requires a strong will and a good leader, and will act just as such whenever circumstances request it. He is loyal, stubborn, humorous, and occasionally hot-headed, though he tries to work this to his advantage properly.

Arya:

Arya is the realist and the outwardly level-headed, logical friend. She can be a little withdrawn at times and a bit distanced from both her more personal thoughts and those of others, but she is intelligent and a good companion to have in a stressful, dangerous, or otherwise strained environment.

Eragon:

Eragon is—sometimes reluctantly—the empath. He is forced into positions of leadership and power, but would really prefer to sit and brush the horses or watch the birds or just share company with a close friend. He is the one typically paying attention to others and how they might feel at any given time, well-attuned to each of his friends and their individual signals and needs. He is impulsive and a bit scatter-brained, but smarter than often perceived, and a man of good intentions. However, someone should really check in on his mental health for once…

I think I would need to reread the first book to really commit to this opinion but imo some of the horror of book!claudia is that she really is a terribly inhuman monster. she was a vampire child, so she never learned to be human. she was a vampire child so she'll never grow up and fulfill that potential. companionship is a necessity for her because she can't look after herself and that makes her bitter and disdainful of people who want love for its own sake, especially in the context of Louis and Lestat, who damned her to her current state to fulfill their own emotional needs. it's a stark contrast to show Claudia, who yes, is a vicious mass murdering vampire and has fun with it, but is otherwise a lonely woman who craves companionship and understanding because she's a person. Her beef with Louis is still about his failure to prioritize her and his assorted bad idea relationship choices but the undertones are so different and I really feel like the tragedy is that he didn't put her first and not that he could never have made her happy no matter what he chose.

Thinking about the version of Mark that DID survive out in the wasteland for all those years (???) (post-Angstrom fight). Thinking about him being told he wouldn’t like who he had become. Thinking about Mark whispering “I thought you were stronger” at the bloody corpse crushed into the sand. Thinking about the hot sun and incredibly hot earth and unwavering isolation at such a critically vulnerable point. Mark, stranded and bloody, left to wonder if this was worth trying to protect his family, left to wonder if the violence in him is inevitable, as if it's some evil thing that's always been there, underneath his skin, just now waking. Left to wonder until he trips into spiraling, but no matter how loud he screams these questions into the sky, there is nothing but silence. A corpse for company. Thinking about the crushing weight of loneliness, and your own shocked mind. Thinking about being that way for years and years and years, somehow surviving. Only to become something a younger you wouldn’t "like". And what that looks like.

Thinking about the Mark that did get rescued, and being left to wonder how many times other versions of himself stumble into bad endings. How long until he becomes something he wouldn't like.

👀👀👀👀 about the corries au fic you mentioned in the ask game

So basically the idea is that Coruscant sectors near the Senate where the Corries are centered are FULLLL of working class families who may work long hours esp given how expensive it is to live in the "nice" areas a workable distance from the busy top levels where ppl work as senate aids or in restaurants or hospitals etc etc. Many of those people have kids! They may not be able to afford childcare! A lot of the kids are probably latchkey children who take themselves to and from school and get into trouble when theyre unsupervised.

The corries come into play when someone in the CPD, who deal with missing and lost children and also delinquents, realize that through a loophole, corries can take custody of any individuals under CPD custody if the case has CG involvement or is suspected to be associated with political/military matters.

So between corries being the ones to find lost kids, getting egged by teens, or for literally any kid with a family member who works for the senate OR who expresses seperatist sympathies (including fuck the senate), they end up getting lots of kids foisted on them. They are kids, so obviously they cant put them in lockup, so they just kind of... have them hang around until their guardians pick them up? With little kids its definitely babysitting but the older kids its a very strange interaction where nobody is confident or comfortable or happy abt it until they get closer. Once they start getting "regulars" or "repeats" a couple kids start just showing up after school.

These kids become honorary vod'ike, its very cute, found family and all that. But these kids also have actual families for the most part! Mostly busy families who don't have time, but overall parents who do give a goddamn even though they work long hours and cant be home often. These parents learn about and recognize the value of the corries as people, and some even start to take them under their wing as much as possible. So when the kids mentioned the Fucked Up Nonsense clones and particularly corries deal with, you have, instead of apathy, a bunch of people going, hey what the fuck.

This leads to community suppourt forming to directly help corries w things like food access and medical care, but also cultural shift in the perception of clones. Idk how it would end but just. Yeah corries getting seen as a part of the community rather than a separate entity. You Will see the clones as people and specifically as scared young men who love their siblings and would die or kill for them without hesitation, including now, somehow, your child, and so what can you do but care for them in return?
