I've gone too long without saying something mean about the tv man. So here it is, Vox is dumb and ugly and his hat is stupid and honestly everyone out here making the fanon that he's such a hard worker and he's a workaholic and that he thinks through everything as if that bitch didn't just pull angelic security out his ass and toss it to his assistant to figure the fuck out with no regard, that bitch is just sliding by on a pretty smile and it ain't even real! Shit's a bunch of pixels!
Anyway I hate Vox so damm much and I bet due to the limited head space he got crammed in that flat fucking thing he calls a head that the long ass tongue we saw at the end of the episode swirls around his brain like a fucking bird.

I think saying that Valentino is being woobified is not…the correct word. Vox, and the way a lot of the fandom downplays his villainy into something more palatable for them by making him a victim and then overemphasizing that victimhood while downplaying his antagonism, is being woobified. On the other hand what’s happening to Valentino is not that.
Both the show (and large parts of the fandom as a result) aren’t downplaying Valentino’s villainy and status as a rapist to make people feel sorry for him so that they’re more comfortable with liking his character. The way Valentino is presented as by the narrative is as this complete fucking moron with anger issues who has zero tact or impulse control; the audience is supposed to point and laugh at Val any time he is not directly (and I do mean ‘directly’) interacting with Angel Dust, which in turn lessens his negative impact without technically just straight up erasing it or pretending it doesn’t exist, and makes him more comfortable to handle and for people to like (or even to dismiss and to hate in some cases).
That phenomenon is not him being turned into a woobie though, that’s him being infantilized; it’s infantilization. No amount of adding layers and nuance to a character (especially if those layers are properly tackled) is going to lessen the impact of a villains’ negative influence on a narrative like making the audience laugh at them more often than they grow apprehensive of them will, and that’s exactly what the show did.
IE: Depict the idea that Valentino is a joke and (outside of his interactions with Angel) he’s practically harmless.
How I see it the show is simultaneously asking the audience ‘how bad could he really be, he’s such an idiot?’ and then showing us exactly how bad Valentino could be and expecting us to just go back to laughing at him right afterwards now that the threat is not immediately in our faces anymore. EDIT: There’s also an implication - that parts of the fandom run with and the writers could maybe be actively showcasing - that Valentino is an undercover mastermind who’s actually smart, but the show itself doesn’t give enough hints at his “childishness” being an act he puts on for me to regard it as more than fans expanding upon the specs of Valentino’s character that they’ve been given to marry the two facets of his identity together and as more headcanon than canon.
With balance this doesn’t have to be an inherently bad thing, but I don’t feel that the show has that balance. Trying to soften the blow a depiction of a fictional rapist will likely have on an audience is not a horrible idea, but something about the way HH goes about it just doesn’t work for me and I cannot for the life of me directly articulate why. I feel the show just often misses the mark when it comes to deciding what about Val and the shit he does should be emphasized for comedic affect, what should be shown to the audience with relative neutrality, and when they should seriously emphasize him being a villain and a abuser/rapist.
From how I see it, Valentino needed more neutral scenes than he did comedic; for further understanding of my thought process his tantrum in “Radio Killed The Video Star” (s1ep2) is comedic (except for when he riles Vox up before the show goes right back to playing up Val’s anger for laughs), his inclusion and actions during the Vees’ meeting scene in s1ep2 is neutral (there’s subtle comedic elements to what he’s saying/doing but the audience isn’t meant to actively be laughing out loud or anything), and the scenes where he’s directly attacking angel (his meaner texts/voice messages to Angel, the dressing room scene in “Masquerade”, his appearances in “Poison”[♪], & when Val threatens then slaps Angel in “Welcom To Heaven”) are meant to showcase his menace without buffers. Less overtly comedic scenes would’ve just balanced him better I think, so there’s not this weird dichotomy of moments where Vox treats Valentino not like a non-threat but like a child having to be weighed against moments where Angel Dust is regarding Valentino like the Overlord is his personal boogieman who’s actually a threat to be taken seriously.
In general though, while some people do play up Valentino’s stupidity and incompetence in a bid to actively neutralize, undermine, or ignore his more violent tendencies for their own purposes (EDIT: sometimes for comedic value, sometimes to make him more palatable or more fun to play around with), the infantilization and further “dumbing down” of his character in fandom seems to mostly stem from an almost incessant need to make him as undesirable as possible even for a villain. It’s a phenomenon that I don’t really have a full explanation for, but for me it reads as a way to “diss” Valentino and the theoretical rapist that exists in many people’s heads that he represents. This isn’t a disavowing of that or anything either, it’s just something I’ve noticed that I don’t really have a name for but still find interesting.
I do think Valentino’s “dumbing down” in fandom has its drawbacks — making a character with such a medium level of influence like Valentino so stupid and impulsive he doesn’t even hide his crimes retroactively makes all the other characters around him seem uncharacteristically weaker for falling for him when he’s not even trying to hide how bad he is or how abusive he’d be, incompetent for not defeating him when he gets in their way even though some of these characters are both more powerful than him & not being manipulated by him, and uncaring since the characters he’s victimizing have someone who claims to care about them (or who’d at least have a vetted interest in the victim’s safety) that knows how bad Valentino is but just chooses not to do anything regardless as a result — but I’m pretty sure I understand where the desire comes from in general even if I personally don’t love it, so whatever.
Brought to you by me misconstruing the term “uwuify” with “woobify” so…..yeah. This post technically spawned from nothing but I did not want to put it to waste so here y’all go. This is kind of ordered wonky too, but fuck it.

I watched Hazbin Hotel and i'm lost here.
The story in itself isn't so Bad in general but Charlie is kind of annoying and a bit selfish in a certain way.
I get her desire to redeem her people to avoid extermination day but at the same time people are in hell for a reason like cherry bomb is a toxic friend to Angel and a Bad influence, almost everyone the fandom convinced themselves alastor isn't a Bad selfish person and genuinly wants to help Charlie when he is here for his personal gain. Stop thinking he sees Charlie as a daughter he doesn't he was clear about his intentions.
Angel isn't a good person either he isn't the worst but he is in hell for a reason he was in the mafia he obviously did tons of shit in his life. His trauma can't be used to justify his behavior either.
And even if we're ignore all this like sir pentious getting redeemed it's not really okay either he did ONE good things and ended up in heaven.
The biggest problem is how unfair it is for the winners in heaven. Imagine you got killed ans went to heaven because you were good and your killer goes to hell but he shows up in heaven because "he's so sorry and redeemed himself" Yep fair enough good sir welcome to heaven am i right ? And i didn't really like Emily either she was acting way too kind and friendly as weird as it sounds. I understand her anger about the extermination and the fact sera hid it from her but still they're in hell for a reason and extermination wasn't planned for sick entertainement ar the begining of it until Adam made it a goddamn entertainement game. Emily acted as if people in hell weren't horrible people maybe not all of them are THAT awful but most are killers, rapists, pedophiles, terrorists, zoophiles or human traffickants, mafia members drug dealers or something.
I get the point of the serie is to show heaven's rules aren't truly black and white since Adam remained on heaven until his defeat and it was insinuated that once in heaven "angels Can Do whatever and remain in the Sky" and sounds selfish and not logical, but shit like Charlie didn't think anything through at no point, she brought drawings to a meeting with Adam and started singing instead of being serious i know Adam didn't take it seriously either but he isn't the one presenting a huge project that could raise many questions and worries so Charlie didn't prepare anything to prove it wouldn't cause problems. At No point did she think about what heaven citizens would think of it or how they'd react. She just came and spilled all her projects without thinking about what heaven would think.
Like you can't redeem everyone in hell like it's okay they messed up big times in their lives before dying. If i was in heaven After being killed or abused and my killer or abuser just came in heaven with a Big smile like "i was redeemed i'm sorry for hurting you" i'd be pissed like you ruined my life but i gotta face you for all eternity ? Great thanks love this.
And Charlie is the princess of hell but is disrepected and mocked like girl ? You're the princess use your powers ? Authority ? I know she thinks it's mean but she's in hell like people ARE mean and bad people ? I don't know it's frustrating. She has to be like one of the strongest beings in heaven and hell but she holds back because she doesn't want to hurt anyone ? Girl sinners can't die unless you use angelic weapons. Even against Adam she held back, for proof her father had to help and only when he was attacked she actually used more power and managed to hit Adam. And i don't think that the life or death adrenaline was what gave her this power she's the princess of hell she can't be that weak compared to Adam. I'm pretty sure she's just hella strong but never uses her powers to appear nicer and less threatening.
I don't know maybe Season 2 will do better.

Hazbin Hotel : an Honest Review
Hello everyone ! This took me waaaay longer than expected lmao
Yup I'm coming after everyone, I probably missed the Hype Train, but heh it's not a problem. If you're interested, here's my detailled opinion on the Season One of Hazbin Hotel ! Let's get started.
Before I just want to say that everything I'll say below is just MY opinion, it has the value you give to it. If what I say does pique your interest, I would be happy to discuss it with you !
1 - Qualities
➤ Concepts of the show
The beginning is very promising, to say the least. The idea of a DEMON, the PRINCESS OF HELL, caring about her people's fate is original. I like the idea that Charlie inherited more of her father's angelic side that the demonic one. Like a stain on the painting, you see ? In theory, Charlie has nothing to do in hell, and I thought after watching the pilot that it would be interesting to see her everyday life, how she's living to be in hell and how she can keep a nearly endless hope. There is also the question of redemption, is really everyone worthy of a second chance ? As an Undertale fan, Charlie's ideal of "you can save everyone" is quite appealing. I was sure at that time that Charlie would encounter big difficulties, make enemies and that she would struggle a lot to fulfill her dream.
Some ideas for Sinners are well-thought. I love that their appearance will change depending on their cause of death, their personality or their past. Each Sinner is unique in their own way, it also offers an absolute freedom for creators of the community. Creating you own OC is easier, you just have to listen to your imagination. Also, the idea of Sinners being sterile is coherent, because Hell is already populated and they're dead, we don't need demon children.
➤ Character's designs
My my, it's probably one of the things I love the most ! Most of them are quite creative and lovely. For some, there is a real difference between the pilot design and the official serie's. I share a thought for Husk who was a HELL to animate. To illustrate my opinion, let's comment some of the chara designs :
Let's start with the most controversial character, Valentino ! I LOVE his design, without lying it's one of my favorites. His dominant color is red, which can be refering to passion and love. The hearts on his wings and on his collar fur are also a clever reference to his powers and charisma. His jewelry is a nice little detail, because gold is precious and expensive, it shows his wealth without being too razzle-dazzle. And I don't know who in Vivizie's team had the idea to make his wings his coat, but he/she deserves an award.
My photo editing skills are amazing, indeed.
Also, I really like Zestial's design. He's an hybrid between a spider and a scarrecrow. The fear of spiders is common among people, and the web pattern on his cloak shows his patience. Zestial probably survived though centuries thanks to his intelligence. During the Overlord's meeting, he acted calmly and stayed collected. Being provocative isn't useful to his eyes, he prefers to think and trap his preys in the web. His dangerosity is also reflected by his green and dark color scheme. Green is a symbol of bad luck in some cultures, and the threats are often hidden in the dark. Finally there's his 'scarrecrow' side, another symbol of fear but also of disguise, maybe a proof of Zestial's deceit.
➤ The writing
By writing I'm mostly talking about character's writing. However, this point is mid, because it also contains several problems of the show, I'll say more below. On the bright side, most of the character's are well written and serves their goal well.
What's a "Character Goal" ?
It's the idea behind the character. A character is created for a reason, and most of Vivzie's fulfill it. They have different 'roles' for the story, as little gears of the world's machine. I'll develop that point in future posts, one character at time, but the most popular example is Alastor. He is loved by the fans and has all of a morally grey villain. He's selfish, brutal, violent, but was shown to feel genuine connection with other characters. Rosie, Niffty, Mimzy, Charlie, we can go deep into his relationship with them. It's clear that we can't ignore him, whatever we hate or love him we can't stay indifferent. The show also focuses on dynamics between characters, we know the nature through little details or focused episodes. For example, we can often see Keekee in the background cuddling Charlie, being annoyed by Niffty or showing affection to Sir Pentious. It is really tiny details, but it adds life to the hotel and a watchful eye can catch glimpses of lore and learn more about the main cast outside of the story. Viv is thinking about her lore and sometimes her little winks work very well, it's always very satisfying when we catch something in the background.
Most of relationships between characters have a really strong base as an hidden depth. We see how much Zestial secretly cares for Camilla, how much Angel is/was afraid of Valentino, how much the Vees are a band of chaotic gremlins. It's something that is very clear, plus character's dynamics never stay simple. Husker hates Alastor as much as he fears him, Alastor has pity for him as much as seeing him as a tool. It's never one-dimensional, there is several layers.
➤ Voice actors
Despite coming from Broadway for most of them, voice actors suit very well their character. Like many people I was disappointed that actors from the pilot weren't returning, but this new cast definitely do the job. They're talented and we feel all the passion they put into their roles. None of the characters sound false or artificial, I believed to their existence. In the Masquerade episode, I didn't hear Blake Roman recite his lines, I heard Angel Dust crying about his miserable life instead. I didn't hear Blake play his role, I heard the fear of an abused character. I felt that fear deep in my heart.
Erika demonstrated all Charlie's joyful nature and energy, Keith showed the face of an old man who lost all hope in his own redemption, Stephanie all the wrath of a fallen angel who just desires to protect the people she loves. Thanks to their work, Hazbin Hotel would have feel lifeless.
➤ Songs
They're pretty good in fact ! It was quite easy to sing along with the characters, plus most of the songs are stuck in my head since weeks. I'm often mumbling them when I'm bored. I find Respectless and Hell is forever quite catchy, while Poison is really lore relevant and go in depth in Angel Dust's character and his relationship with Val. Here's my personal ranking of all songs :
1- Poison (how original I am)
2- Out For Love
3- Loser Baby
4- Respectless
5- Hell is forever
6- Hell's greatest dad
7- More than anything
8- Stayed Gone
9- Ready for this
10- Whatever it takes
11- Welcome to Heaven
12- More than anything (reprise)
13- You didn't know
14- Finale
15- Happy Day in Hell
16- It starts with sorry
They weren't 'bad songs', there are really cool ones to mid, I listened to some numerous times and others just once or two times.
➤ The animation
Quick note, I don't have knowledge about the animating process. I'm a writer and barely an artist, I can't judge Spindelhorse's or Viv's skills. I just have my fan opinion.
The animation is really great, I didn't see any flaws (they have to be big as a house for me to notice it but whatever), moments with actions are smooth and pleasant to watch. My retina didn't burn, so I guess it's a quality.
2 - Flaws
➤ The humor
Unfortunately, the humor is unbalanced. I giggled most of the time, but I didn't have a real laugh. Sometimes, the 'adult jokes' seemed forced, artificial. The pilot was more efficient in humor. However, most of them were okay and brought a smile, it's always good to light up a bad day. Niffty clearly carried the humor tho, her savage energy was really funny to watch. Rip her face, she hugged the floor too many times.
➤ The pacing...
If the humor is totally subjective, the pacing is a real issue. The show goes way to quickly, the main plot is crushed in 8 episodes of approximately 30 minutes. 4 hours for a whole season, it's so short ! The consequences are massive, the story feels rushed and we have no time to breathe. Like, Lucifer and his problems with Charlie are introduced in one episode, then resolved in the SAME EPISODE with the song "More than Anything". It felt like the song was a replacement of dialogues and scenes INCREDIBLY important, and it's a severe problem that has the show. The story is so rushed that we never have the time to appreciate the conflict. I saw some people on Internet complaining about the non-existence of Charlie's 'daddy issues', and I mostly agree. The difference is that Charlie has problems with her dad, she's written this way, but we NEVER have the opportunity to see Lucifer act like a bad father. We only had one flashback where Lucifer was shown focused on his creations, Charlie said explicitely that she was 'impressed' by him, 'felt so small', but we don't have any proof that Lucifer was neglectful towards Charlie. In the pilot, it's implied that Lucifer showed disappointment in his daughter's project in the past, and it's never mentionned in the series. Charlie called Lilith, who is never responding, to share her thoughts. Her mother who disappeared for SEVEN YEARS was a better confident for Charlie than Lucifer was. And it's NEVER MENTIONNED. Their relationship is fixed too quickly, and it feels worse than a LeaderPrice-Disney scenario. it's such a waste because the ideas are really good and creative, but executed poorly.
➤ Ways the subject/themes are handled
It's an indirect consequence of the horrible pacing but it's true that some subjects are badly handled. The serie goes so fast that it creates great confusion. I've talked before of the 'daddy issues' of Charlie, so let's take the example of Anthony's abusive relationship with his boss Val.
The Poison song was great showing the complexity of their relationship and how it's difficult for Anthony to free himself from Val's claws (and I'm not talking about their contract) but for me it wasn't enough. It's like we just dig into the surface. I looked at the clip very closely, we have only a few frames when we see Angel taking pleasure with Val. The episode 4 should have been longer to show the 'good days' of their relationship. Don't get me wrong, Valentino is a total garbage and deserves to be in Hell more than anyone else, but a relationship is never totally black or white. I'm deeply persuaded that it existed by the past good moments between the two, and the show lacked showing it. By showing the beginning of their relationship, when it's all pink and marvelous, Valentino would less appear as the Devil himself and more of a really really twisted being. A flashback would be efficient !
The result is like a 'Disney scenario' : a bad guy very bad, the good guys very good and an issue resolution almost unreal.
Thanks goodness Angel Dust is quite well written or it'll be a massacre.
➤ Wobby worldbuilding
The worldbuilding feels uneven and unfinished. I really loved the Vee's building (especially Vox's office), it shows their personality and their specialty in Hell. Same for the Hotel, it was balanced between the decay state of the building and the life brought by the colors, the lights and the residents. BUT THE CITY-, it's appears empty at some places, weird at others.
For the lore, many of our questions are left unanswered while they're essential for the credibility of the show. What are the different quarters ? They are controlled by who ? What are the missions and responsabilities of the Overlords ? Why Sinners can't leave the Pride ring ? Who rules the first ring while Lucifer was absent, it is the Overlords ?
I would rather a slower season (with less action) who introduce the public to the codes of their universe than the rollercoaster we had.
3 - Quick summary
✔ Viv's ideas are good
✔ Character's designs are very good
✔ Characters are well written
✔ Voice actors are amazing
✔ Most songs are definitely enjoyable
✔ Animation is great
✔ It's very promising for next seasons
✘ The humor : "all or nothing"
✘ Awful pacing
✘ Lack of maturity, disturbing vibe of a "Disney story"
✘ Issues with worldbuilding
To summarize in a few sentences, Hazbin Hotel is a fantastic mess. It's far to be the TV show of the year but you can enjoy it quite easily. The first watching is fun, but I can't say it was worth the wait. 4 years for 8 episodes, a mashed lore, it's disappointing. I don't regret watching it tho, and I'll do it again with pleasure. Hazbin Hotel is overrated, and it doesn't make it a bad TV show. To be fair, I find Viv's pathway in the industry quite incredible and I wish her the best. The show has BIG FLAWS that need to be worked on. We'll see where the serie will be going in the future.
Thanks for reading !

NEW AND IMPROVED ship opinions
now that hazbin is out and ive had a while to digest, here r my NEW ship opinions (now with explanations!)
OTP: chaggie. they literally r both powerful and love eachother a lot,, they r a power couple. the contrast between charlie's whimsy and vaggie's jadedness is awesome too.
main ships: lucifer x alastor, and i love all the canon ships except lucililith
FRIENDships: alastor + tom trench (they r both fruity, they both say the news, they both probably drink liquor and black coffee unironically, what more do you want me to say? they have so much in common /silly), niffty + sir pentious (they r insane together. niffty would help clean while sir pentious focuses so hard on work that he becomes a shut-in. relatable king. and yet sir pent seems like the type to appreciate niffty's odd creativeness. he seems like the type who would help her organise and create machines to help her with her tasks and also make sure she doesnt work too much because he doesnt want her to be like him. checks and balances yknow)
partners in crime: alastor + vox (i dont need to elaborate if youve seen the show), rosie + alastor (canon), charlie + alastor (powerful 1 and powerful 2 wreck shit after alastor convinces her shes too optimistic.. like perfect corruption arc complete with chaggie angst where vaggie joins the dark side too and OH man lucifer realises that maybe he shouldve encouraged charlies optimism more. what potential. i love thinking about it. it would be awesome.)… everyone + alastor… carmilla + vaggie (watch their musical number again. thats my only defence)
crack ships: vox x katie killjoy (ITS SO SILLY), alastor x sir pentious (LIKE VOX X ALASTOR EXCEPT WAYYY SILLIER)
ships i support idly: angel x alastor, husk x alastor, niffty x baxter (no opinions. i have no qualms with the ships. theyre cute /shrug)
hell no: lucifer x lilith (i dONT CARE THAT ITS CANON RAHH), angel x women, katie killjoy x tom trench (katie would NOT treat him right. tom deserves better smh!! theyd be a toxic couple who both have problems n feed off eachothers negative energy. itd be gross bro im so serious. itd be GNARLY)
stay single: valentino (unless u AU him to be Not a rapist)
fics that make alastor alloromantic are things i enjoy consuming but when they pull out the "you were the one! he found the one, guys!" im like :upside_down face: so i hope its known that while theres more than one ship of alastor x someone in here, i still accept that hes canonically ace B) the ships with angel x women i just cant stand though cus every single time the person aking the fic has some homophobic ass excuse. why cant they just say "this is an AU where hes bi" or something!! anyways thats my cold take. just call it an AU. thats what a lot of the ones making alastor alloromantic do. if u know of any angel x women fics where its specified that him being bi is an alteration theyve made to his character, then lmk

Also! I have more to say about Vox the endless question generator! His outfit is fucking stupid! The stripes on his suit jacked and then the horizontal stripes on his shirt?? Just terrible, I don't have to explain. He has a wifi symbol on his shirt! A wifi symbol, like I know your shits electronics and the media and shit but god is that fucking dumb and ugly! And he has it on his hat to match! Why??! Also his fucking hat, don't even get me started, too bad for you, I was already started. His hat is too small for his fucking head, and how does it stay balanced there? Is it like a cardboard prop? And not only is it impractical it's also ugly, how people are calling this guy hot when he got those dinky ass antennas coming outta his head, I'll never know! Are the antennas apart of his head and he just puts the hat to make them seem like an accessory? Why! The hat just makes it worse! And why are there little balls popped on the end of the antennas?! The end of antennas don't look like that, they can have rounded ends but not just straight up red fucking golf ball looking orbs! Why are they there? If he really wanted to accessorise them, get something actually complementing, not fucking bright orange-red balls! Also why is the rim of the hat pointed like that? What the fuck! And why aren't we seeing the back of the hat rim? Did he cut it off so the front view with the pointed sides would make sense? Cause if so he's an idiot cause it just looks stupid.
And I mean I'm sure Vivziepop and all the other people who helped with his design tried their best and worked very hard on him, and anyone who likes his design no shade to them, I just personally can not stand this fucking man. I have opinions about the rest of the characters, but Vox is the only one who's managed to truly fucking baffle me. Like why?? Just why??!

Ok but.
Episode 5 was fun and cool and I loved Lucifer and Alastor's rivalry.
But then Minzy arrived. And like. Ewgh.
I guess after Episode 4, we can't expect much...

Charlie's got so many damn problems packed under that skinny tux that she's fascinating -- it's just hard for her to stand out amongst the other characters because she hides so much in her Disney-princess optimism and this is a show marketed to edgy and cynical people.
She's got abandonment/perfectionism/living in denial issues -- a lot of which I'd argue stem from the fact that Lucifer and Lilith were probably smothering Helicopter parents who never really let her fail at anything.
A lot of this gets pulled out for me in Lucifer's duet with Alastor in Ep. 5, it's Lucifer (in a fit of jealousy) offering Charlie all these wonderful things that he'll do to make the hotel better, and how grateful she should be for the service.
Alastor takes too much credit for himself in the duet, but even so, he's at least willing to give lip service to the ideas that Charlie is his equal and that Charlie is the one in charge -- because he sees how badly Charlie wants to be seen as someone important for who she is and what she's done, not who her parents are.
Alastor is actively rooting for the hotel to fail, but he's going to let it be Charlie's failure and it says so much about Charlie that she chooses that over Lucifer's enticing promises to make everything easy and shiny for her. By the end of that episode Alastor actually does wind up helping Charlie set a healthy adult boundary with her father, even though all Alastor was really trying to do was protect his turf from Lucifer's interference.
I am hoping that next season Charlie starts seeing the possibilities in making Hell a better place and by embracing her demonic side.
She spent most of the first season driven by the idea that Heaven has the perfect afterlife for mortal souls because Heaven is somehow still perfect, even though it cast her parents into Hell over basically a policy disagreement, created the annual exterminations of her people, and allows Adam to represent them publicly in any capacity, etc.
The rose-colored glasses she has for Heaven have been ripped off once she realizes that they have no more of a clue than her as to what makes a soul worthy of Heaven. She's now also seen Cannibal Town, which despite the active cannibalism, is otherwise a rather peaceful and functioning neighborhood compared to the rest of Hell (at least on the surface).
If Charlie can't get the sinners into Heaven, can she find a way to bring a bit of Heaven down to Hell? Will the powers that be in both Heaven and Hell allow it?
It's kinda funny to me that Husk mentions that Charlie is trying to fix others because she's avoiding fixing herself but I don't see lots of people talking about it (or about her in general) and even the show itself makes a very clear indication that Charlie's motives and actions for helping people aren't just because of pure altruism, don't get me wrong I do believe she has good intent and genuinely wants to help, but I personally what I interpreted, I feel it comes to the fear of her being unwanted and A LOT AND I MEAN A LOT of characters treat Charlie so shitty, but Charlie always bottles it up and treats them back with kindness, (at least until she can't no more and explodes), there are very few characters to which she responds back with violence being (Valentino, Lute and Adam (rightfully)), but in general she is extremely optimistic to the point it almost seems self damaging and I really wish it was talked more enough because it opens up a whole level of complexity to her character not many people give her, she isn't your typical altruistic good protagonist, she's extremely good to people out of her own fear of rejection, look how she behaved when she realized she damaged more than she helped Angel dust, yes it is normal to feel overwhelmed when you know you've harmed a friend, but Charlie's reactions although played for laughs, go to an extent of over compensation out of fear of being rejected and not receiving the benefit of the doubt to be forgiven, (also because it faces her face to face with her own flaws), just like how she always tries to do the same with others to the point of probably putting herself at harm, I'm not sure how conscious she is of it herself, but it's obvious she over compensates to anything to make sure people won't leave her, because as much as the show says she's got daddy issues, I feel more overall she's got abandonment issues in general, because literally both her mother and father left her at a point in her life and even when Lucifer comes back she's hesitant as to when is his staying going to last (I have problems with how quickly their issue was resolved but that is a discussion for another post).
My main point is that Charlie's issues with herself are so fascinating to me because I love characters who seem like the perfect altruist hero but actually unknowingly to themselves, have more emotionally "selfish" motivations, obviously I'm not saying Charlie has any ill intent, but she's literally an over protected princess of an exploited, unfair and exploitative system who has a very shielded and naive view of morals and goodness and badness.
I know this is fuckin Hazbin hotel, but I srs have so much brainrot.
I know critics of the morals of heaven and hell ain't anything new, but there is genuine good commentary in my opinion, not by any means perfect, but it definitely is doing insistent questions on the nature of a religious morality and using real life politics systems to somehow drive it further and connect it more with reality, of course modernizing it and treating it as a modern, tumblr version of so, but it's really good and the songs are amazing.
The point is, I'm really hoping they will explore more of the character of Charlie and how she transforms to her "demon" form when she is more emotionally unstable that could do a lot of commentary too if used right, but maybe I'm just projecting my own headcanons and ideas for her lol.
Actually I have no previous knowledge of any other media of the creator outside of Hazbin Hotel because I watched it some days ago in Amazon prime so yeah I just really like media and edgy media I'm sorry I liked this show, with it's problems and all I did like it, maybe it was too obvious for most, but I'm really new to the fandom so forgive my rantings
