Odessa exchanged slight smiles with the captain, "Not in a million years, no."

He took is leave in that moment. With a tip of his hat and a flourish of his coat. Odessa likened the exit to that of a magician's final performance. For one horrible minute the torments of childhood came back to her- Clowns, invoking lunacy. Acrobats, defying gravity itself. Ringmasters, demonstrating power beyond the realm of possibility.

She shuddered, "Nice trick, Captain."

my favorite thing about anakin as a character is the inherent nuance lucas wrote into his story, like he's neither an innocent victim nor an inherently evil monster, he's just some guy put in a series of Situations and ultimately failing the test of his humility and self-control. he was certainly flattered and shaped by the devil, spiraling into something unrecognizable, but he chose to take every step down the pathway to hell. lucas knew he would lose a certain demographic by making him basically a greedy pawn in the larger story, not a righteous betrayed macho badass, but he did it anyway. he made him an awkward romantic and a loyal friend, a generous boy and a brilliant teen. he made sure he had all the positive qualities that meant that he had potential to be so much more than vader, but it was clearly his choice to lie, murder, and fully squander that potential. there are no excuses for what he became, no acceptable reasons to commit mass slaughter. he became an unbelievably selfish and impatient man, reckless and wantonly violent. hayden captured that nuance so well, nobody can match the sweetness of his smile and the absolute horror of his scowl on mustafar. to view him through a single lens as either pure victim of manipulation and (canonically unsupported) emotional neglect, or a creepy evil villain, denies the heart of his story and the weight of his tragedy. he's neither an angel nor a demon, he's both and neither, he's deeply human, a classical tragic hero with a flaw of greed. lucas made a choice with the prequels to tell a story that not everyone wanted to hear, and the result was a character that i think is one of the best of modern pop culture, mostly because he feels to me so very, very ancient and eternal.

His tongue pokes out his lips, and gives you a single nod, signaling that you lay back. Your arm tucks under the veil of your hair, and flicks it out to fan across the surface of the counter you relax on. It doesn't take long before he's on his third shot, fourth shot, fifth.

You can see it in the way he's swaying in place, you really hadn't expected him to keep going, you had imagined he'd tap out at two. "One more, one more," he insists through a dreamy grin, as if he has to really convince you. Trained, his hand clutches your chin to crane your neck, pinching your cheeks in his grip to pout your lips. A long wet stripe is licked onto the space right under your ear, his breath washing over you, and ends it with a sweet peck, latent saliva stringing out off his pucker. His long finger taps the mouth of the packet, sprinkling sugar onto the soggy skin, catching on the moisture. A tingle travels through the pit of your stomach as he straightens, stumbling back marginally. "Forgot how much fun this was." he muses as he greedily checks out your figure waiting patiently for him. He tips the drink over, far above your belly button, all caution thrown to the wind as the liquid splashes messily over your abdomen before filling your navel.

"Careful, Hayden!" you warn, your stomach flexing from your chuckle. He disregards you, plucking a lime from the dish to shove into your mouth. It silences you, and you hum in playful disapproval as he bends over like a starving man. That eager tongue laps up the sugar on your neck, the sensation of his scruff scratching up the column causes a shiver to run down your spine. He doesn't bother getting up, pivoting down the line of your form, letting the tip of his nose graze you until he meets your torso. Lovingly, he cleans you, licking up the dew drops of alcohol he spilled over you. His hand fixes on the other side of you, hovering over you possessively, his hunch creating a most exquisite sight of his broad shoulders to behold as he drinks the shot from your belly button like a professional. Even pokes his tongue inside to make you jump out of ticklishness. Another few kitten licks to your skin, leaving your stomach wet enough to be cooled by the breeze of the A/C, he ends it with an open mouthed kiss on your upper abdomen, biting down onto the flesh.

To coordinate his attention, your hands come to his curls, tangling in them to draw him back up to your face, where he grins at the reminder of his destination. You offer the lime to him, and he takes it by enveloping it in his mouth, lips overlaying yours as he tongues you over the fruit. Sloppy and clumsy, he doesn't hold back until his teeth are ready to sink into the porous green skin to draw it out of you. You make a noise of surprise as he detaches, holding his loyal eye contact as he repositions the lime using his tongue to bite into the meat of it, taking advantage of its bitterness and tang to rewrite the traces of alcohol on his breath. An index finger and a thumb pinch the ends of the slice, and it's removed with a sodden pop. Once again you're left speechless and breathing hard by your older boyfriend using your young body for shots.

thoughts on todays volume ! well…i can’t say it was uneventful

i enjoyed the podium challenge! i wouldn’t say it was “fun to play” because the entire thing was on rails, but it gave us some reasonable drama. plus MC actually got some wins for once, rather than automatically losing for the sake of a diamond option

next up is some random date, it was mostly just eavesdropping on other couples, and then we have a dance off ??😭 anyways, i danced with lisbeth, it was very cute

then we have spin the bottle! jesse chose to kiss MC and obviously i went all in

for the diamond option, you actually can pick tristan (and interestingly enough, he has hearts. i'm starting to think he really is the enemies to lovers route 💀💀💀) i just couldn’t resist the mess

but then i was considering a replay, because choosing him means i probably won't be able to kiss lisbeth—

sike ! she points the bottle right at MC and we kiss her too. anyways, this was the most fun i’ve had in the villa by far (with that being said, after the results of this volume i might actually replay to choose lisbeth for the diamond scene 😭)

i was dreading whatever gesture hayden had planned for MC, but at the very last second lisbeth swoops in 🎉 unfortunately that means i have to read dialogue about "the LI i'm forced to be with being sad about being turned down" for the one millionth time. i wish female LIs (or slowburns in general) could be a choice early on instead of forcing us into these awkward situations (even if we can't be coupled up for storyline reasons, FB could have one of the girls talk to MC about romantic gestures, give us some "if someone here did a gesture for me, i'd love if it was..." type of dialogue, and then have every LI to choose from. it's not that hard luv)

anyways, lisbeth also has some dialogue about how i also chose her for the hot tub date and the hideaway, i thought that was a cool detail! (and it’s nice to not get treated like you’re automatically on a hoe route as a wlw player, that was one of my biggest complaints with the 2 previous seasons)

we go to the treehouse and catch franki kissing tristan, i would say “clap if you care” but it’s all gonna go downhill from here, so…👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

we go back to the rest of lisbeth’s gesture: looking at the constellations, and it was so adorable ! however, i should’ve known that the line about the pleiades was foreshadowing what happens next

side note before it all kicks off, the new outfits in this volume were giving me life ! putting "goth PLEASEEEEE" in every FB survey question about clothes finally paid off

next up, we got some season 5 energy with everyone dogpiling MC. common sense and critical thinking completely out the window. mind you, everybody that was in the dressing room saw franki steal MC’s perfume. mind you, my MC doesn’t even wear lipstick. mind you, our own LI defends us and somehow we still get dumped (UPDATE: i said tristan didn’t vote for MC but he actually did when i replayed. maybe it’s a glitch, maybe i’m illiterate, maybe it's maybelline) before we go, lisbeth tells MC that she'll wait for her. then we got some season 6 energy with “dumped MC actually being sent to casa” …or coming back to the main villa as a casa girl 🤷🏽

but more importantly, we got dumped for two whole weeks ??? that’s pretty much years in love island terms, im sure our LIs managed to stay loyal but i have no idea how they’d do that without getting dumped (i could see lisbeth and jesse staying together in a friend couple, but idk about hayden/ethan/milo) can't wait for all the "pay gems to learn about what happened" scenes 🙄

speaking of gem scenes, the way i thought the option to open the door was gonna be for one of our LIs 😭 i already said this in my last post, but i have unlimited gems and i still feel robbed. in the game i ended up forgiving franki, just because there wasn’t an option to throw hands (and i do agree with the option that ideally, tristan would’ve been dumped instead lol) but i definitely do not forgive her, choosing to walk after letting MC take the fall is some of the most pathetic bullshit i've ever seen (so what was the point of throwing MC under the bus, you bozo !!!)

overall... what on earth !? i'm gagged, mainly because i cannot believe my prediction of MC getting dumped was correct. granted, we’re gonna be returning, but this is so unserious 😭 i'm sure the game won’t let us be more than mildly upset with the islanders who got us dumped, but trust and believe my MC will be burning that villa down when she returns.

(in case you're wondering, i'm still gonna romance tristan...because i live for the drama and his route will probably be "uncharted territory." in other words, i don't think a single person is gonna be romancing him after this shit, & i'm curious to see what it's like. he's 100% not my endgame tho 💀 i prefer sweetie pie LIs . jesse and lisbeth all the way)

Hayden - A Disney's Descendants OC

Haden was born into a world where shadows loom large and legacies are hard to escape. As the son of Hades and Maleficent, his early years were marked by the absence of his father, who was preoccupied with his own fiery domain. This absence cast a long shadow over Haden's upbringing, leaving him to contend with the fiery legacy of Hades while navigating a life overshadowed by his older sister Mal's strong presence.

From a young age, Haden was a tempestuous blend of his parents’ qualities. His hair, a striking combination of brown fading into blue at the tips, was a visual reminder of his father's influence, even as he wrestled with his own identity. His demeanor mirrored the sarcastic, snarky edge of Hades, a trait that often put him at odds with others, including his sister Mal. While Mal focused on making her own path and fitting in with the VKs, Haden struggled with his anger issues and felt the weight of living up to his father’s infamous reputation.

Haden's fierce personality was both his greatest asset and his biggest challenge. He could be a loyal ally in battle and a force to be reckoned with, but his quick temper and tendency towards sarcasm made it hard for him to form lasting friendships. Despite these struggles, he found a sense of belonging among the VKs who appreciated his unique skills and fierce loyalty.

On the Isle of the Lost, Haden's life was tough. With his father Hades absent and his mother Maleficent focused on her own schemes, Haden often felt ignored. His fiery temper and sarcastic attitude didn’t help him fit in easily.

He was known for his sharp wit and strong abilities, though his anger sometimes got him into trouble. He had a complicated relationship with his sister Mal, who was more strategic compared to his impulsive nature.

Unexpected news

Maleficent paced furiously in her dark, cluttered lair on the Isle of the Lost. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to the announcement echoing through the magical crystal ball.

“Ben, the son of Belle and Beast, is giving five children from the Isle of the Lost a chance to live in Auradon,” the voice from the ball repeated, “Carlos, Jay, Evie, Mal, and Haden will be chosen to leave the Isle and join the new world.”

Maleficent’s expression shifted from surprise to fury. She turned sharply to her children, who stood in the shadows of the lair. Mal, looking both shocked and apprehensive, met her mother’s gaze. Haden, his face a mix of excitement and anxiety, stood next to her.

“This is a joke, right?” Mal demanded, trying to make sense of the news. “We’re actually being given a chance to leave?”

“It’s no joke,” Maleficent snapped, her voice dripping with disdain. “Ben, the so-called ‘king-in-training,’ is trying to clean up his precious Auradon by taking us out of the picture. But he’s made a grave mistake.”

Maleficent’s eyes gleamed with a cold, calculating light. “If we want to take advantage of this opportunity, we need to act quickly. I want you all to get me the Fairy Godmother’s wand.”

“Why do you need the wand?” Haden asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and defiance.

“To break the barrier,” Maleficent said with a dark smile. “If we free ourselves from this cursed Isle, I can take over Auradon and show them the true power of a villain!”

Mal and Haden exchanged glances, both understanding the gravity of the task. Despite their own mixed feelings about leaving the Isle, they knew they had little choice but to follow their mother’s orders.

“Get ready,” Maleficent commanded. “You have a lot to do before you set foot in Auradon.

Life at Auradon

When Haden arrived at Auradon Prep, everything felt way too perfect. The other kids were always polite and polished, which drove him crazy. He felt out of place and frustrated by the perfectness around him.

One big adjustment was dealing with magic. Back on the Isle, magic was a no-go, but in Auradon, it was everywhere. Haden’s hair would glow blue whenever he got angry, which made him even more self-conscious and irritated.

To cope, Haden started playing pranks on the Auradon students. He loved messing with their orderly lives—switching their stuff around, setting up harmless tricks, and mocking their perfect manners. It was his way of dealing with how uncomfortable and out of place he felt.

Despite his rebellious streak, Haden found some comfort with the VKs. They were the only ones who really understood him. Over time, Haden began to accept that while he might never fully fit in, he could still be himself and find his own way in Auradon.

Over time, Haden started to see Auradon in a new light. At first, he resented the perfectness of the place, but as he spent more time there, he began to appreciate the calm and order it offered. It wasn’t just about fitting in; he started to genuinely like the more positive environment.

Haden wasn’t alone in his change of heart. The other VKs—Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay—also felt the shift. They all decided to embrace the new opportunities Auradon offered and work on becoming better versions of themselves.

One surprising development for Haden was his growing interest in music. He was introduced to the guitar, and then tried his hand at the piano. To his surprise, he found he had a pretty decent singing voice too. Music became a way for him to express himself and connect with others in a positive way.

Eventually, Haden joined the music club at Auradon Prep. It was a new experience that allowed him to channel his energy creatively and find a place where he truly felt at home.

Back home

As Mal adjusted to her new life as Ben’s girlfriend, Haden noticed her growing discomfort. While Mal tried to fit into her princess role, Haden also grappled with his place in Auradon. Even though he was happier than before, something still didn’t feel right to him.

When Mal confided in her friends—Evie, Carlos, and Jay—about her issues, Haden sympathized with her struggles. He admitted to Mal that he was also having trouble adapting to the “perfect” world of Auradon. While he was grateful for the opportunities and the calm environment, he still felt out of place and disconnected.

Mal’s use of a spell to change her hair color and her attempts to maintain a princess-like image made her increasingly uncomfortable. When Ben found out about the magic, it led to a major confrontation. Mal’s insecurities came to light, and she ended up in a heated argument with Ben, causing a rift in their relationship.

Seeing how distressed Mal was and feeling similarly unsettled himself, Haden decided to accompany her when she chose to return to the Isle of the Lost. Despite the Isle’s harsh conditions, Haden felt a sense of familiarity there. The Isle had changed in their absence, now ruled by Uma, the daughter of Ursula, with Harry and Gil, the sons of Captain Hook and Gaston, also making their mark.

Haden’s return to the Isle was a mix of old and new challenges. He had to navigate the new power dynamics while dealing with his own feelings of displacement. The Isle, with its new rulers and evolving atmosphere, offered a different kind of challenge for Haden and Mal as they tried to reconcile their past with their present.

Reunion with the past

Haden was leaning against the edge of the docks, absently fiddling with a rusty piece of metal. The sound of approaching footsteps caught his attention, and he looked up to see Harry swaggering towards him with his usual cocky grin.

“Well, look who’s back,” Harry drawled, his tone dripping with false familiarity. “Haden, the Isle’s very own troublemaker.”

Haden’s expression darkened. “Harry. What are you doing here?”

Harry stopped a few feet away, leaning against a crate with a self-satisfied smirk. “Just heard you and Mal were back. Thought I’d drop by and see how you’re faring. You know, old friends catching up.”

Haden glared at him, his anger simmering beneath the surface. “Old friends? You’ve got to be kidding. The last thing I need is a visit from you.”

Harry chuckled, unfazed. “Oh, come on. Don’t be like that. I’m just here to see how you’re handling the whole ‘Auradon’ fiasco. Must be a bit of a shock to go from their perfect little world back to this mess.”

“Shock doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Haden snapped, his voice edged with bitterness. “And don’t pretend you care. You’re just here to stir up trouble.”

Harry’s smirk widened, clearly amused. “Maybe I am. Or maybe I just missed our little... chats.” His gaze lingered on Haden with an almost nostalgic glint. “Remember how much fun we used to have? You always did know how to keep things interesting.”

Haden’s eyes narrowed, his frustration bubbling over. “Yeah, well, not everyone finds your games charming, Harry. What’s your angle this time?”

Harry shrugged nonchalantly. “Just thought I’d remind you of the old days before I let Uma know you’re back. It’s always nice to see some familiar faces.”

Haden clenched his fists, clearly uncomfortable with the reminder of their past. “I’m not in the mood for your games. Just stay out of my way.”

Harry raised his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright. I’ll leave you to brood. But don’t be a stranger, Haden. We wouldn’t want to lose touch.”

With a final smirk, Harry turned and walked away, leaving Haden to seethe in his anger. The encounter stirred up old feelings and reminded Haden of the complications that came with the Isle’s less-than-idyllic past.

Before Auradon:

Before Haden left for Auradon, he and Harry had a complicated relationship. Growing up on the Isle of the Lost, both were natural troublemakers, constantly getting into scrapes and mischief. They were often rivals, competing to outdo each other in pranks and schemes. Haden’s fierce personality and Harry’s cocky, flirty attitude created a dynamic full of tension and competition.

Despite their frequent clashes, there was an unspoken bond between them. Their banter was sharp and often had an underlying flirtatious edge, a way to mask deeper, more confusing feelings. After Haden Went to Auradon:

When Haden left for Auradon, everything changed. For Harry, it felt like a betrayal. He saw Haden’s departure as a rejection of their shared life on the Isle, and it stung. Harry was left feeling abandoned and bitter, his playful, cocky demeanor hiding a deeper sense of hurt.

Haden, on the other hand, struggled with guilt. Leaving the Isle was a chance for a better life, but it meant leaving behind the people he cared about, including Harry. Even in Auradon’s calm and positive environment, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. The tension and unpredictable nature of his interactions with Harry had been a big part of his life, and without it, Auradon felt strangely empty.

Upon Haden’s return to the Isle, old tensions resurfaced quickly. Harry’s attitude was a mix of flirty cockiness and bitterness. He couldn’t resist teasing Haden, but there was an edge to his words, a reminder of the hurt and anger he felt. Haden’s resentment was clear too. He was frustrated, not just with Harry but with himself, for feeling out of place in both Auradon and the Isle.

Their interactions were now even more charged, full of unresolved issues and the weight of their history. The flirtation and banter were still there, but now it was laced with bitterness and regret. Every encounter was a reminder of their complicated past and the unresolved emotions between them.

Haden was in the old, abandoned hangout spot on the Isle, trying to clear his head. The familiar grittiness of the place felt oddly comforting. Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching and turned to see Evie, Jay, and Carlos sneaking in.

“Haden!” Evie called out, her voice a mix of relief and worry.

Haden frowned, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. “What are you three doing here?”

“We came to bring you and Mal back,” Jay said, stepping forward. “This isn’t where you belong anymore.”

Carlos nodded. “We’re worried about you, man. Auradon is your home now.”

Haden’s expression hardened. “Home? That place never felt like home. I never fit in there. Not really.”

Evie tried to reach out to him. “But you were doing so well, Haden. You found your place in the music club. You were happy.”

Haden shook his head, his frustration evident. “Happy? Maybe for a while. But there’s always been something off. I don’t belong in a world that’s so perfect and ‘good.’ I’m Hades’ son, for crying out loud.”

Jay crossed his arms, trying to stay calm. “We get it, Haden. We’ve all felt out of place at some point. But running back here isn’t the answer.”

“Running back?” Haden’s voice rose in anger. “This is where I grew up. This is where I know who I am. Auradon isn’t real for people like us.”

Carlos stepped closer, his tone pleading. “But we’ve changed, Haden. We’re not just villains’ kids anymore. We’ve made friends, found things we care about. You can’t just throw that away.”

Haden’s eyes flashed with anger and pain. “You don’t get it. You’ve all found your place there. For me, it’s different. I can’t just pretend to be someone I’m not.”

Evie’s eyes filled with tears. “Haden, please. We care about you. We’re your family. Don’t shut us out.”

Haden looked away, struggling with his emotions. “I’m sorry. But I can’t go back. Not now. Not like this.”

The silence that followed was heavy with unspoken words and unresolved feelings. Evie, Jay, and Carlos exchanged glances, realizing they couldn’t force Haden to return. They had to respect his decision, even if it hurt.

“We’ll be here if you need us,” Jay said quietly. “Whenever you’re ready.”

With that, they turned and left, leaving Haden alone with his thoughts. He watched them go, feeling a mixture of relief and regret. The path he chose was uncertain, but for now, it was the only one he could take.

His bond with his sister Mal and his friends in the VK group is unbreakable. He would do anything to protect them, even if it means putting himself in danger.

Haden carries a lot of resentment, both towards his parents for their legacy and towards the world that judges him by their actions. This resentment can make him seem bitter and unapproachable at times, but it’s also a driving force behind his desire to prove himself. Haden is constantly at war with himself. He struggles to reconcile his villainous heritage with the person he wants to be. The Case for Hayden Tenno

At the end of my Let's Play of Dark Sector - the spiritual lost lamb of Warframe's long, tangled development history - I went into why I thought Dark Sector still has a grip on the minds and imaginations of those who know about it, sprinkling comments to the effect of "Oooh, is this going to tie in to Dark Sector?" below every Warframe content update, despite the game itself being a pretty mid-to-bland 2000s console shooter that wouldn't be worth the emotional investment on its own. During the credits of Dark Sector, I had just played the game for seven hours straight, and while I had the full theory in my head, I don't think I communicated it very clearly due to how tired I was. So let's take another stab at it.

Hayden Tenno, the protagonist of Dark Sector - both the 2004 concept video and the 2008 game - is, on a meta level, an astonishingly tragic figure among video game protagonists. He worked hard and did his job and stuck with the project all the way to the end, even through all the executive meddling, and it's a crime that he hasn't gotten more recognition for his loyalty and service in the aftermath of the success of Warframe, in the universe in which he was originally meant to be the star. The man was robbed of his glory by unfortunate circumstances, but he showed up anyway.

Like, look at the timeline in terms of an actor playing in a movie or a TV series. Hayden Tenno signs up for this sci-fi series called Dark Sector. They shoot the pilot and everything and start pitching to investors. The word comes down: Not another fucking sci-fi series, we're not going to compete with Halo, make changes or you're not getting funding. So this slapfight goes back and forth and the end result changes the entire concept from sci-fi cosmic horror to modern-day supernatural horror. Hayden is lucky he's not ordered to wear an eyepatch in a World War I setting.

Any actor who signed up for the original sci-fi concept would be well within their rights to say, "Nope, this is not what I signed up for, this is a completely different project, I'm leaving." But Hayden doesn't do that. He's still signed up to be the protagonist of "Dark Sector," and even though "Dark Sector" is extremely different from what he originally acted in and shot, he's gonna be the protagonist of "Dark Sector" anyway.

In this analogy, Hayden Tenno is not some legendary actor. He signed up for a sci-fi B-movie, he ended up in a supernatural B-movie, and he delivers a B-movie performance. But he shows up and does his job without complaint or putting on airs, and he does what needs to be done to get the project out the door and for the studio lights to stay on. Absolutely steadfast and loyal from beginning to end. And after that exhausting saga, knowing that a sequel is deeply unlikely, he retires as a video game protagonist and moves on, fading into obscurity.

And THEN, irony of ironies, that original concept gets revived at the studio four years later, reimagined with a new cast and new structure, and it takes off like wildfire. Warframe. Without Hayden Tenno. The executives had been wrong and the original creators of the concept had been right. Hayden Tenno got shunted into a borderline unrelated B-movie for nothing, sacrificed a potentially star-making debut for a cult not-even-classic.

Is all that accurate to say? Not exactly, there's no telling that Dark Sector in the mid-2000s would have performed as well as Warframe over the 2010s. But it makes for a compellingly tragic meta-narrative when you look at the role of Hayden.

This is why I think Dark Sector has a clutch on people's imaginations once they learn about it. Because it's a legit tragedy that Hayden hasn't gotten a piece of the Warframe pie after working so hard and sacrificing so much for the concept initially. On a meta level, his hard work and loyalty as a character deserves a reward, maybe in the form of a cameo or even a remake that can fit in better to the Warframe eternalist multiverse.

Is a grand comeback for Hayden Tenno likely? No, but it would make the perfect happy ending to this tragic tale, and that's why Dark Sector remains so compelling.

I can’t find it so don’t ask me to try cuz god I tried so hard, but Jessica was on the red carpet and an interviewer asked what costar would be the easiest to love, and she said Hayden Christensen and then was visibly flustered and the interviewer mentioned Rachel Bilson and I DONT KNOW WHY, they took the camera OFF Jessica and panned to other people.

I have no clue what year this was because Jessica doesn’t age so you never know what year it is with her, but it’s the reason I think Hayden and Jessica are the ones that got away from each other, cuz look how they look at each other.
