It was easy to let the stupid arguments devolve. It started with a facial expression when you brought up your college roommate’s wedding. An eye roll, an I-don’t-want-to-fucking-deal-with-that. And that became your, “why do you treat my friends and my life as less important?”

“I can’t fucking believe you got that out of me wanting to ditch Katie’s wedding to her dickhead loser fiancé.” Patrick’s words came out so flippant that it infuriated you further. “You don’t even talk to her outside of Facebook comments.”

“I’m sorry, Patrick. I didn’t realize that you’d be so fucking opposed to free food and booze considering you live off of it.”

Patrick set his jaw, glaring at you. It was a low blow, one you knew would sting. “I’m opposed to wasting my time flying out to bum fuck Iowa to because Katie— who has always hated me, by the way— is marrying some dickhead who’s a shill for a corrupt asshole in congress.”

You rolled your eyes. “Maybe she would like you, Patrick, if you ever put in an ounce of effort with anyone besides me.”

“Right, because I need to be friends with the kind of people whose proposal was a flash mob.”

You laughed softly, shaking your head. “Right, because you’re just too cool for stuff like that.”

It was so fucking like him— making fun of the lame proposals your friends got, or their baby names, or their engagement shoots. Sometimes they were lame— flash mobs were fucking stupid— but sometimes they were sweet, and romantic, and there was Patrick acting like he’d rather blow his brains out than ever publicly admit he cared.

“Yeah, I am.” He said back.

You rolled your eyes and stood. “Whatever, Patrick. I’ll RSVP for one, again, and you can bum around my apartment alone.”

You had slammed the bedroom door before he could respond, which left him alone and seething in the living room.

You heard the front door open, then slam shut, signaling that Patrick was going out for a smoke, or a walk, or something.

You opened Facebook and scrolled through your feed. Katie’s engagement photos, a coworker’s new baby, a college friend’s bachelorette weekend. And there you were, fighting so your boyfriend would finally be your plus one to something.

It wasn’t always his fault— he had tournaments, and commitments. But a lot of the time, it was an active dismissal of things you found important— engagement parties, friends visiting the city, the increasingly common baby shower.

You didn’t blame him. Adult stuff sucked, and it was almost always boring and agonizingly slow. But you just wanted him to show up with you for things that were big.

It would be stupid to break up over Katie, who you genuinely weren’t even that close to. She’d been a decent friend Freshman year, you supposed, but that was the extent of it. The invitation to the wedding was probably a formality.

All you wanted was an excuse to show off your super hot, super cool boyfriend. To get tipsy over free booze, then leave the wedding early to fuck in the shitty Best Western hotel room that wedding guests would get a discount rate on.

A few hours later, the front door opened, and you sat up against the headboard, waiting eagerly to see if he’d be the first to break, or if you would.

You heard four gentle knocks against the door, saw Patrick’s sneakers beneath the door. “You can come in,” you said softly.

Patrick slipped into the room and joined you on the bed. He kept space between you, just in case you were still mad, but met your gaze with the sad eyes of a kicked puppy.

“I bought a suit,” was all he said. “And I tried to buy you a huge bouquet of flowers since I was a dickhead, but my card declined since I just bought the suit, so…”

His hand was resting on the empty expanse of mismatched bedsheets between you. You moved your hand into his, tangling your fingers together. “You bought a suit, huh?”

He nodded, squeezing your hand lightly. “I’ll stop being a dick about Katie’s wedding.” He paused, turning away from your gaze. “I think… I’m away so much that when I’m home, I just want it to be me and you.”

You leaned forward and kissed his nose. “I just want to show you off to everyone I know,” you said lightly. Your forehead stayed pressed to his, and you relished in the closeness. “I don’t give a fuck about Katie or her ugly loser fiancé’s stupid wedding.”

Patrick grinned. “Oh? So you just want a hot, professional athlete to be your arm candy, huh?”

You rolled your eyes. “You’re always cheapening the moment.” You leaned forward kissing him sweetly, which always seemed to devolve into a hungry mess of tongues and spit when Patrick was involved.

“Wait—“ you said suddenly, right as Patrick began peeling off your top. “You said your fucking card declined? You drained your bank account for this stupid wedding?”

He paused, his hands warm on your bare skin. “Uh… it felt like a grand gesture kind of moment.” You leaned in and kissed him, pulling your shirt off the rest of the way.

i’ve got some big things happening right now around my career, which is taking up a big chunk of my time outside of work :( for some context, i currently work full time night shifts, which as you could imagine, is draining in everyyyyy sense of the word.

i’m working toward a huuuuge opportunity which will put me in a job role that i’d be happy to stay in forever. and back on day shift🤞 i don’t wanna talk tooo much about it to avoid getting my hopes up too much 🥹

i have my first official step on tuesday, so i’ll still be inactive for a week or so while everything goes down.

Howdy meowdy so long story short I’m gonna post art soon (March or sooner?)I just want to reformat some of my posts/tags I think first? Will get on that! Social media and Dreamscape/OC updates:

I’ve deleted my Twitter/X. I have a Bluesky but I’m not really inclined to post my art there. I just loathe that sorta platform layout at this point especially with art. You can/will find my art on Tumblr and Toyhouse though! (Youtube for any animations and if dA is ever ‘ok’ again I’ll unarchive stuff there but for now it’s archived). I actively keep my Carrd updated with the socials so as always refer there if unsure! As of this time I’ve taken down my stickers on RB I may put them back up or something later but didn’t feel like dealing with additional social media/shop atm. I’ve been reformatting my use of social media and am still doing so in ways. So you may find I come and go a lot when it comes to posting.

Regarding upcoming art/Dreamscape I’ve done myself the favor of really letting myself narrow my focus down to the ‘main’ characters I really care about. All 80+ whatever of them are still around! More like I’m letting myself fawn over the few favs/mains instead of feeling obligated to give them all equal attention. You may recall the busts I drew a bit back it’s those guys + some more! I’ll be posting all the busts together again soon so ya’ll can see which. You will also see those OC’s icons change on Toyhouse to circles instead of the usual squares to distinguish them easier!

when I started shipping it if I did: oh, I will just put this comic book part here and that's the moment I started shipping them, however, idk why, must be censorship, but in the original comic book Igor was completely naked, there were no pants, not like you could see anything anyway, but come on, he was naked :D

my thoughts: oh man, I have so many thoughts of them, like, this is one of the rarest pairs that I wanted to write anything for, and I used to, might be because I had no laptop with me to gif at that time when I was literally so much into major grom, I was so active on twitter and was active in fandom, so my love needed to be expressed different ways since I could not gif, so I was drawing and writing. My love for them only grew when the movie came out, and you know how much I loved that movie, I fell so hard for Igor and Sergey from the movie. Can't wait for the second one, can't say I am super excited, like I wait for it, but I am not in MGPD fandom anymore, I am not active on twitter either, I don't do anything for Razgrom, but I think it will all hit me back once I see anything related to them on screen, cos every time I see Sergey I am like 'MA BOOOOOOI MY SOOOOON' I love him, I love these characters and I hope I won't be disappointed with the second movie. I know the movie will be different from the comic book 'the game', but I hope some parts will stay there at least, like, I really want Razgrom in their black/white suits playing chess hehe, not sure they will ever come to the part where they shoot 'the time of the raven' comic book, the ark with Kutkh, but if they do, you will hear me yelling no matter where you are :D cos in the comic books Razgrom are literally two parts of Kutkh's soul, the raven god, like dark and light sides and I absolutely love that story. I need more of them in movies. I only come back to read the comic books when there's crossovers where Igor and Sergey meet, but it has not happened for so long... not sure it will ever happen again.

What makes me happy about them: everything related to Razgrom makes me happy, I can't even put all of it in words, just everything :D

What makes me sad about them: that while the comic books are interesting, I read a little of 'igor grom' comic books, some of 'plague doctor' which were after the events of Major Grom and the crossover books, and they are fine, but somehow, when the story revolves around Igor AND Sergey it is 1000x times more interesting for me, and somehow always better. I know there are interesting and fun characters, some of them I like myself, but I just love those two together and want more. And it makes me sad that they don't have more crossovers with them, and I hope that in the movies they will not separate them right away, like, literally two parts of the same god's soul, I want it to happen in the movies, I want all the drama and angst and pain and I want them to have all those weird dreams, like, just give me Razgrom and I will be happy.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: crossover ships put into fics without warnings

things I look for in fanfic: oh, the angst, loved the fics where they explored feelings, explored the connection between Sergey and Igor, fics about them being literal soulmates, being the dark and light sides of the same soul. Loved the fics post the time of the raven events.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Igor with Julia, obviously, the movie version, cos she is amazing. And Sergey... well, I don't want him to end up with Oleg, cos I don't like that ship, but seems like there's nobody else Sergey could be with if there's no Igor. But maybe I will leave him alone :D in the comic books.. well, Julia is dead in the comic books, so idk who could be with Igor, I read some of 'Igor Grom' and there was this lady, I don't remember her name, but somehow I don't see Igor with her either, so maybe I would leave him alone too :D Maybe in 'Major Igor Grom' (honestly bubble come up with better titles for your comics) there's somebody with whom he could be, or Sergey in 'Plague Doctor', but I have not read them, so idk.

My happily ever after for them: my happily ever after has nothing to do with reality, and will never happen, so I would like them to work together at least, not on the same side maybe, but you know, meeting here and there and sometimes helping each other... mutual respect maybe :D

who is the big spoon/little spoon: movie Sergey is lil spoon, comic book Sergey is chaos in bed so you either fall from the bed or you end up with Sergey all around you :D Igor can be both big and little spoon.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: going to museums all around the world, and eating shawarma on the roofs somewhere looking at the city at night :D

I was coming back because I've been rereading the available chapters of penny for your ghosts. I'm curious exactly how hybrids work in your universe. For example, I see that the alpha thing is a wolf hybrid specific thing. Just curious about the little details, like does each hybrid have their own unique scent. Is scenting a thing, not at all? Stuff like that.

i didn't have much time to explore those dynamics yet as they aren't that close yet (sooooon!!!), but i imagine they work pretty similarly to how hybrids usually are depicted!

they do have their own scents, and now i'm realising i haven't mentioned them before (sorry 😭) and scenting absolutely is a thing, but it's considered very intimate and not something you'd do with someone on a whim (basically it works the way it is in nature - when you're carrying someone's scent, it means you belong with them, either as pack or family or lovers)

the alpha thing isn't like a true a/b/o but it is a wolf thing, where wolf hybrids create this sort of hierarchy and use these terms - with Namjoon being the pack leader, everybody calls him alpha even when they're not a wolf hybrid simply because he is and that's how it works between wolves (so basically it's like respecting what he'd like to be called as a wolf in a position of authority)

they have mating cycles according to how it works in the nature - so for example snow leopards usually have a heat once a year during january-march, usually for a week, and they don't mate for life because they're really solitary animals, but that's when the human part comes in - basically weighing out the animal part, so even someone who's a hybrid of an animal that mates for life (like arctic foxes who are usually strictly monogamous) can be in casual relationships or reverse, etc. - basically like best of both worlds kind of, tho humans discriminate against them for being 'more animal than human'

so like while it might be unusual for snow leopards to join packs because the animals are super reclusive, it's not unheard of or looked down upon, because they're a mix of their animal genetics and the human genetics

(and basically all the animals that our boys are have mating seasons during the january-april period, except for the bears who have them during summer, so we'll see some shenanigans unfold when everyone is on edge and getting frisky hehe 🤭)

also a little fun fact - MC is so obsessed with Yoongi because tigers are the closest cat relatives to snow leopards, and this will definitely come to play when the mating season starts 🤭

i'm by no means an expert when it comes to wild animals, but i do find it pretty interesting and have gathered a considerable amount of interesting tid bits and facts about a lot of different animals, and i'd like to keep the hybrids true to that while also balancing it out with them being half human

i hope i answered your questions darling, and i hope that you continue to love the story as much as you do! i'm super excited for the next two chapters and then for the winter to start, because that's where the true spoops begin hehe, i've already come up with some terrifying encounters and we'll meet more ghosts, and more dangerous ghosts, and maybe even make some unlikely allies on the way!

It still works,” Tommy says, turning the camcorder towards Buck. “Say hi!”  Buck laughs and waves at it. “You are so old,” he teases, pushing off his spot on the couch to walk over and inspect the fossil Tommy has dug out of his closet. “I'm pretty sure my parents had one of these.” He turns the lens on Tommy, the tape still recording. “So what, are we vloggers now?”  Tommy shrugs. “Not for the world to see, but it might be nice to have something to look back on and remember.”  “Like a digital scrapbook,” Buck says and thinks of Thomas and Mitchell; thinks he finally has a love like they did. “I wonder if they will let us record during the appointment?” +++ “I don’t want to remember pissing in a cup,” Buck deadpans, pushing Tommy back out of the bathroom and closing the door on him. Tommy turns, the camcorder scanning over the soft pastel green halls of the doctor's office; pictures of newborns and expecting parents hanging on both sides.  “Sir,” a voice calls from behind him and he jumps, turning so the camcorder is now aimed at a woman’s face. “You’re here with Mr. Buckley, yes?” She looks down into the lens and Tommy quickly turns it towards the floor.  “Oh, s- sorry… Yes, I am.”  “Right this way.”  The camcorder stays pointed to the floor until Tommy reaches the room and he sits in on the counter. It’s at an awkward angle facing a window more than the exam bed, but when Buck finally gets to the room he is in view. “They took blood,” he pouts, holding out his arm for Tommy to see the damage.  “Poor baby,” Tommy says teasingly. He walks over and kisses Buck, then his battle wound.

The house is silent and slumbering when Zvezda comes, all the lights smothered except for the fire in the hearth.

She is glad for it, though she hardly feels the need to conceal herself when out on a mission, especially one as pleasant as this. No, it’s only because it makes her job a little easier, a little quicker, and darkness holds no power over her, the faint glow of her hair accompanying her as she traverses the cramped rooms looking for her target.

The man in the bed is deeply asleep once Zvezda finds it, worn out with all the exhaustion of a new father - she smiles at the sight, but turns away quickly, her eyes drawn to the small bassinet in the corner. Only then does the fairy’s smile reach its peak, and she bends down to look at the child inside, careful not to disturb anyone’s rest.

The girl must be a few weeks old already, or have skipped that endearingly wrinkly phase most newborns seem to have - her cheeks are silken-smooth, her head full of dark, feathery hair, and even in sleep she holds tightly fisted tiny hands up to her head, looking as though she were dreaming of a matter of the utmost importance. Every so often, she twitches in her slumber, her face briefly knitting into a frown before it relaxes again and her breath evens out.

She’s wonderful. She must be thriving, despite being given to an unwed man who never raised a child before, and that pleases Zvezda greatly. “Hello there, devochka,” she whispers, brushing a gentle finger on the impossibly small head of the fairy-born babe.

She and Reul Ghorm don’t always see eye to eye, but that’s no fault of this girl, and besides, not many children need fairy godmothers the way this one will, unplanned and ill-fated, with such powerful and inclement blood coursing through her veins. She will require a watchful eye and kind hands, if she is to grow into the inheritance the Blue Fairy might have left her, and Zvezda wagers she can provide both of those, in a pinch.

“May you light the way for all you meet, little one,” she continues, still smiling. “It’s in your blood, and I will be there to help you. You are your father’s sun, but your mother named you Grad Rùnag, her sweet surprise; I understand now, why she did.”

She bends to press a kiss to the girl’s forehead, then, the last few words a quiet prayer that would be barely audible even if there were anyone around capable of hearing them. “Let us make sure she never forgets it either, hm?”

She straightens up at that, casting the room one last, longing glance; and not a moment after, she vanishes, leaving little Eliana squirming in her swaddle, comforting warmth rolling down her head and pooling around her tiny body like a motherly embrace.

SOOOOO...i have some ideas with the bbys as OCs...if you've read Torrential (Knox x reader), this was part of an idea i had for my own fantasy book some day. Malos is also one of the characters in this idea that i have but i'm v intimidated by thinking about the ups and downs of a fantasy book, so we'll see how long it takes for that to come out.

as for requesting for the bat babies, it's always surprised me that people want to read more about them in the sense of x reader fics and i get a little nervous because this is technically an acotar blog and they aren't acotar characters, so i'm not sure how people would receive them haha. Torrential was amazing tho so much fun to write

i have like 300 reqs in my inbox 😭 and it makes me so sad that i can't bust out 3 fics a week like i used to 😭 there are def some dad az ones in there tho...

as for what's coming next...i'm not 100% sure. I started the next part of the vampire!az series and i was debating making a poll to see if hockey az fics should be made into an actual story like Midnight Muse, but i also don't want to put that kind of pressure on myself.

ugh there's literally so many good ideas that you've all shared with me in my inbox and i'd really just quit my job and write them if i could 😪 hopefully i'll be able to be a full time writer tho that would be sick

and i really want to try and finish the kinktober i started last year but we all know my promises really dont mean much when it comes to writing 😅

Man you work so fast I still haven't finished commenting on lessons and you've already got another prompt chapter and a chapter of the modern a/b/o fic 😅 how am I going to keep up lol. Actually this is probably good for me because I'm not taking any summer classes but I have two writing intensive classes coming up in the fall so commenting on your fics over the summer might help keep me from getting rusty. It's enrichment for me this summer I'm taking Sukuna studies, hah. Ok so back to lessons I didn't even get to how Sukuna planned a surprise honeymoon for them in my last comment that's so cute but he's also being a complete bastard about it by sowing chaos the man is setting up all these little dominoes to fall while he's gone like a rube Goldberg machine of pure spite. I'm looking forward to seeing him go head to head with Kenjaku honestly if we could just get those two to focus all their energy on fucking with each other instead of ending or reshaping the world out of boredom everyone would be better off. Aww the wedding night was very cute Sukuna teasing that breeding kink was hot and then he got honest when Yuuji was all tired out damn buddy I'm counting that as progress to be honest it's baby steps to emotional maturity idk if he'll get there in this lifetime but clearly being together with his husband is good for him. Yuuji was sooo cute too love him being all cuddly and happy to be Sukuna's husband 💕 💖 ☺️. Anyway, delightful chapter. Thanks for writing and sharing with us!!

It appears as if I work fast as I often work on several pieces of writing at once, so sometimes a few of them may finish at the same time XD but I try to post regularly just to keep the dear readers well fed!

And yes...Sukuna is setting a lot of little dominoes to fall sooooon! I always felt like he was a character that even if you took away his ability to slice and dice would find ways to come out on top. He's a man with a mind that is always making schemes!
