HELLO? THIS IS SO COOL??????
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I couldn't resist making @artuurle 's Cliff. I just had to make him so that he can be thrown at a wall lovingly (jk). I absolutely love the Love and Loss AU to absolute bits!
Unfortunately I only had 2 pom pom sizes, so went with stupidly big since stupidly small would just be sad.
Also fun fact his key can be turned :)

Claims that Liz Cheney broke the law are even thinner than you think
(Archive.us version here.)
It seems like every day we're getting hit by a new "y'all really need to be following this" news story. I'd love not to have to be talking about this. We should all be, I don't know, baking gingerbread cookies and making fun of Hallmark movies or something. But honestly: y'all really need to be following this one.
If you remember, after the January 6th insurrection the Senate held hearings on Trump's role in it. Liz Cheney was one of the few Republicans, certainly the most famous, who helped organize and present the evidence. Cassidy Hutchinson had worked as Trump's aide, had at first not given much information but later she fired her Trump-provided lawyer and participated more fully. A lot of the most damning descriptions of Trump's involvement, like him throwing a food plate against the wall while watching it on TV and his trying to wrestle the car steering-wheel away from his driver to go down to the Capitol, come from her testimony.
Yesterday, a House committee issued a report on those hearings. Their summary:
Based on the evidence obtained by this Subcommittee, numerous federal laws were likely broken by Liz Cheney, the former Vice Chair of the January 6 Select Committee, and these violations should be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Evidence uncovered by the Subcommittee revealed that former Congresswoman Liz Cheney tampered with at least one witness, Cassidy Hutchinson, by secretly communicating with Hutchinson without Hutchinson’s attorney’s knowledge. This secret communication with a witness is improper and likely violates 18 U.S.C. 1512. Such action is outside the due functioning of the legislative process and therefore not protected by the Speech and Debate clause.” “The Federal Bureau of Investigation must also investigate Representative Cheney for violating 18 U.S.C. 1622, which prohibits any person from procuring another person to commit perjury.
Which, yes, sounds very bad. But if you dig into the details? *Quelle surprise!* Much less so. Cliff's notes version as I understand it: her first attorney was Trump-provided and pressuring her heavily not to provide information; Hutchinson reached out to her at one point, wanting to speak more candidly and without a lawyer, and instead Cheney encouraged her to get a new one, and gave her several names because Hutchinson was having a hard time finding one she could afford on her own. I'm not a lawyer so can't say 100% she didn't do anything wrong. Talking to someone without their lawyer, even to help them find a new attorney, is a big no-no. And while I'd argue the real tampering with a witness and was with that first Trumpy lawyer, the law isn't a comparative thing. You don't have to be less guilty, you have to be not guilty.
But still. Based on what I've seen, it really doesn't seem like there's much substance to these charges. The fact they're being made at all, though... well, let's just be a bit vague and polite and call that "concerning."
The Washington Post has a good analysis, link above. I'm sure there are other outlets covering it. But do keep an eye on this story, especially if you're American. This one is going to matter.
(And do thank a journalist! Things like this is a big part of why they matter so much.)
Also, am I allowed a personal moment on this? I had a bit of a scream moment in the shower over this one. It's been a few weeks since I've had t do that; I'm actually a bit proud. This one stung, though.

Hello hello. We need more MHA hcs, so could I request for yan!Kirishima hcs?? -😻
Yay! Finally another MHA ask. Of course 😻, here ya go!
Triggers: obsessive behavior, stalking, extreme stalking, mention of being kidnapped, punishments, physical punishment, short mention of being thrown into a wall, mention of Kiri driving reader and himself off cliff. And yandere like behaviors. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN READING!!!
Enjoy.
Kirishima
Tumblr media
Kirishima seems to be more a harmless yandere, before slowly spiralling down into insanity.
He'll slowly turn into an obsessive stalker yandere.
~
It's fairly easy to get his attention, all you need to do is smile and have a pretty social personality.
That or be a Bakugou 2.0
~
He wouldn't even recognize it as an obsession, but more like he has a much stronger liking towards you.
He will begin by doing the stereotypical behaviors of crushing on someone.
He'll stare at you in class or other places.
He'll want to be around you more.
He'll try to befriend you, if you're not already friends.
Kirishima will ask people about you if he doesn't know that much.
~
Then he'll step it up and look for any of your social media.
He'll start to leave love letters in your locker/on your desk.
Maybe he might follow you around the halls of the school…
~
Then things go a bit too far …
Kirishima will start to look into the people you hang around, if you don't hang out with him and his friends.
He'll start to watch you more and more in class.
He'll stalk you in the hallways and hide before you can even see him.
It's ..it's still not that bad... right?
~
Well, this is when he starts to acknowledge his obsession with you.
But at this point, he thinks he has it under control.
Just a few pictures of you in his room.
Maybe a couple old pencils you forgot in class.
But he'll keep up his stalkerish tendencies.
Kirishima will start to stalk you on your way home or to work.
He'll keep constantly posted on your whereabouts.
His friends might start to get a bit concerned.
Shit even Bakugou will try to step in, and that will be the first time Kirishima snaps back at him.
~
Things will continue to spiral downwards until he finally hits rock bottom.
Bakugou and the others will try multiple times to intervene and get Kirishima focused on something else.
But once again, Kirishima will just snap at them over and over.
Until eventually he will just drift away from the group completely.
Even outsiders will start to notice the grave difference in his personality.
It's concerning to a lot of people.
But Kirishima won't let their weird stares at him stop him from making you his.
~
It will take awhile, and if you aren't friends with Kirishima, he'll take you away himself.
And being kidnapped by Kirishima isn't fun.
He'll likely try to be gentle with you, but every time you refuse he lashes out.
He doesn't have a whole lot of patience at this point.
He's likely been stalking you for about a year now, so he immediately expects you to love him back.
Punishments can rage anywhere from leaving you isolated for days on end.
To throwing you against walls repeatedly.
~
And if you drive him insane enough...well don't be surprised when he is driving both you and him off a cliff.
After all …
"If I can't have, my little pebble...now one is gonna have you…"
~
Inshort: Kirishima is probably one of the more unstable yanderes, and it's likely best if you don't get his attention.

Resurrect Me (N.R.)
Warnings: swearing; death; Hell/the Underworld; cliff jumping lol
Word Count≈ 3.1k (yikes lol my bad)
Hecate一 the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, the moon, ghosts, and necromancy. Known to be an intricate mosaic of good and evil, destruction and beauty. Capable of granting wishes, summoning the dead, resurrections, teleportation, warping realities on unfathomable scales, mind control, energy manipulation, and any sorcery or magic known to the Gods. Second only to Zeus himself.
I am the human embodiment of Hecate. I am not Hecate; she merely resides in the depths of my soul and provides me guidance. We do not communicate through words; she speaks through dreams and gut feelings, and sometimes even through signs in the outside world. I have not mastered the powers she’s granted me, nor have I reached my full potential. In addition to the Goddess’ powers, I hold the basic Olympian powers, such as superhuman speed and stamina. I have no recollection of how I merged with Hecate or the life I lived before this point, and she has provided me with no answers, but I do not question her motives.
Agent Phil Coulson came across me in my temple in Turkey. Apparently, he had discovered strange energy readings coming from the temple. When he arrived, I used the power of energy manipulation to blow the concrete off of me, and that is the first thing I remember一 emerging from underneath Hecate’s temple.
I joined the Avengers during the Battle of New York. Agent Coulson had recommended me to Fury when he was piecing together the Avengers Initiative. In the three years between my awakening and the invasion, I practiced my sorcery mercilessly and studied Hecate deep in the Greek countryside. I’ve stuck with the Avengers throughout the years, fighting every battle alongside them. Through the ups and downs, I’ve fallen head over heels for Natasha Romanoff. One would assume that with so much power, I’d be confident and have any mortal begging at my feet. That couldn’t be any more inaccurate, however. As I’ve said, I am not Hecate; I am simply the human embodiment of the goddess. And as a human, I turn into a blushing, stuttering mess whenever the levelheaded assassin is near. Consequently, there have been many years of pining, but I’ve yet to muster up the courage to ask the woman on a date.
In our most recent war, we’ve gone up against a mad titan一 Thanos. We lost terribly. Half of all living things inhabiting the universe were snapped away. I can’t help but ponder whether things would’ve gone differently if I had better mastered my powers. I potentially hold all the capabilities of the goddess of magic; aside from Zeus, I hold more power than any being to ever exist. I’ve practiced my sorcery every day for the past five years on the off chance that we ever get a rematch一 a chance to bring everyone back. I’ve improved significantly, but Hecate has been oddly quiet for the past few years. It’s driving me crazy. I know she’s still there, but she hardly provides an ounce of guidance.
And so, that is where I find myself now一 practicing sorcery in the room specifically designed to isolate me when I use dark magic. Everyone who has access to the training section of the compound knows that they should never enter this room. It is far too dangerous for regular mortals. As I warp the room’s reality, a dark mist envelops me. When it clears, the room has changed into a 50s ballroom. I look down to see an elegant maroon ball gown covering my body, and I scan the empty area. I hear a pair of heels clicking toward me, and I spin around, already panicking. In order for someone to be here with me, they would have to be an inhabitant of the location’s true reality. My eyes land upon the woman I’ve grown to love, dressed up for the event. She is wearing an extravagant light blue ball gown, and her hair is carefully done up.
“Natasha? What are you doing here?”
“Why I came to dance with you, of course.” She steps closer and drapes her arms around my neck, swaying to the nonexistent music. Stay calm. Don’t panic. There’s no way I’m making her do this. I’m not even doing anything! Of course I’m the one making her do this, who else would it be?! Breathe in. Breathe out. My powers don’t control me. I control them. Just breathe. I can do this. I know how to do this.
As I focus on the magic coursing through my veins, a black mist envelops us, and the room returns to its original form一 a basic training room with black padded walls. I immediately take a large step back from Natasha.
“What the fuck is wrong with you, Natasha?! You know you can’t come in here! I could’ve seriously hurt you!”
“I...I’m sorry. I thought you’d just be moving shit with your mind. I didn’t realize you could do...that, whatever that was.”
“That was reality manipulation. I didn’t know you were here and I don’t have full control of it, so you got caught up in it. Are you okay? Do you remember it?”
“Yeah, I remember it clear as day. I was still me and I was still in control, it was just...different, I guess.”
“Well, I literally warped your reality, so even if you felt in control, you might not have been.”
“You stopped it, though. I remember when that seemed impossible. You’re getting better.”
“Thanks, I guess.” I awkwardly scratch the back of my neck. “What did you come in here for in the first place?”
“This is gonna sound crazy, but Scott Lang is here. We might have a way to bring everybody back.”
“Wait, what? Holy shit. It’s happening. Okay, come on then!” I eagerly walk past her, grabbing her hand as I pass her, and we leave my training room. I realize that I’m still holding her hand as we make it to the meeting room, and I immediately drop it, clearing my throat. If I wasn’t so familiar with the sensation, then I would swear that my ears and cheeks are on fire.
<//>
We all step onto the platform in matching white and red time-travel suits. “We’re really doing this?”
“Hell yeah, we’re doing this,” Clint answers.
“Alright, then. We bring everybody back,” I say with determination. “Whatever it takes,” Steve adds.
“See you in a minute,” Natasha adds with a smirk. Before I can appreciate how beautiful she looks with the glimmer of hope in her eyes, we’re flying through a flurry of colors. Nebula, Natasha, Rhodey, Clint, and I land on Morag. We all say our respective goodbyes before Nat, Clint, and I get on a jet to head to Vormir.
<//>
“A soul for a soul.”
“What? That’s insane. Look, no offense, Mr. Bloody Tampon, but why should we just trust what you’re saying? Because you know their fathers’ names?”
“I didn’t.” I looked into Natasha’s eyes as she spoke and I instantly wish that I could replace the dull sadness with the bright hope that had filled them before.
“He doesn’t know my father’s name. If he’s some mystical being, then why can’t he tell me that?” I turned to face him as I asked the question.
“I’m afraid you are a mystery. I am meant to know everything about any being who seeks the stone, but I know nothing of your identity.”
“Hm. Seems like a load of bullshit to me,” I deadpanned.
“We need to do this. We need to bring everyone back. I’ve spent the past five years trying to reverse the snap, and now I finally know how to fix it. Let me do it.” As Natasha spoke, she grabbed both of my hands in hers.
“And I’ve spent every day for the past five years training to do this. I wasn’t just practicing sorcery and talking to dead people for fun, Nat. All I wanted was to do better一 to fix this. If anyone is jumping off that cliff, it’s gonna be me.”
“No. Absolutely not. Neither of you is dying for that stone. I’ve done horrible things these past few years. I’ve killed...so many people. It should be me,” Clint says, and Natasha and I turn to face him, but one of her hands remains in mine.
“No way in hell, Clint. And not you either, Nat. Both of you guys have families. You’re not sacrificing yourselves. I won’t let you. And you can’t stop me even if you try.” Nat gives me a questioning look as I mention her family and I speak in her head ‘I know about them, Nat. And they need you. She needs her big sister.’
“What are you saying?” I can hear the anxiety lacing Nat’s words, and it causes a pit to form in my stomach.
“I think you know what I’m saying, Natty.”
“Then you don’t leave me much of a choice.” She shoots a Widow’s Bite toward me, but I stop it using energy manipulation without even having to lift a finger.
“You can’t beat me, Nat. Please, don’t fight me on this.”
“I call bullshit.” Out of the corner of my eye, I see Clint running toward the edge while we’re distracted, and I teleport in front of him, throwing him backward. I use mind control to force him to stay down. I sense Natasha running toward the edge behind me, and I teleport in front of her. I use energy manipulation to keep her in place, and I grab onto her biceps.
“I’m really sorry, Nat. I hate that I’m doing this to you, but I can’t let you throw yourself off a cliff for some stupid stone. Your life is worth so much more than that. You’re an amazing person, and your ledger was cleared of its red so long ago. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.”
“This is sounding an awful lot like a goodbye.”
“You can be sarcastic all you want, but I’m not walking out of this one, Natty.”
“Don’t do this. The team needs you.”
“No, they don’t, Nat, and we both know it. They need you.”
“And what if I need you?!”
“Well if that’s the case, you’ll figure it out, just like you always do. Don’t let something like this hold you back. Goodbye, Natasha Romanoff.” I kiss her cheek before turning around. I start walking towards the edge, but it quickly turns into a sprinting pace as I hear Nat screaming for me to stop. Just before I reach the edge, I lift the mind control from Clint and I release Nat, just in case it doesn’t automatically lift when I die. I push myself off the cliff, turning mid-jump so I’m not facing the ground. As I’m falling through the air, I see Clint holding Nat in his arms as her screams fill my ears. I hit the ground and everything goes black.
<//>
“Hello, y/n. It’s good to see you again.” I sat up and一 what the hell is that smell? “Ah, yes. That would be burning flesh. Welcome to Hell, darling.”
“Uh...what? Who are you?”
“Yes, I suppose I should explain, hm? I am Hecate, Goddess of一”
“Yeah, I know what you’re the goddess of. How did I get here?”
“I thought you were smarter than this. You died, obviously.”
“And went to Hell? Damn.”
“Oh, relax. Hell isn’t what the mortals think it is. This is the Underworld. All of the dead reside here. The bad people get punished, the good people don’t. Simple as that. We don’t have a lot of time, so I need to explain. I am cursed; I cannot leave the Underworld. However, my human embodiment can, and that is where you come into play. You hold all my power, and I can see you’ve been practicing, but you’ve never lived up to your full potential.”
“Hey! Rude!”
“Don’t interrupt. I didn’t allow you to live up to your full potential, not until we met, anyway.”
“And I had to die in order for that to happen?”
“Yes. I’m giving you all of my power, but I can still stop you if I ever need to. I know you don’t want to risk hurting the people you love, especially the redhead, but you need to trust yourself. Trust your powers. Have a little faith. You are a goddess, remember. Don’t let people forget it. That purple thumb is nothing compared to you, even with his colorful rocks. Your family needs you now. You must help them.”
“That’s it? Why do they need help? How will I know what to do?”
“I will always be there to help you, Y/N. You can handle this. This is nothing. You are part of me, just as I am part of you. You are my daughter, after all. I should know your capabilities better than anyone.”
“Wait, daughter?!”
“Oh, did I forget to mention that part? Oh well, it doesn’t matter right now, anyway. You need to go.”
“Go where?”
“Home, darling.”
The earth above us cracks open and I can hear faint sounds of fighting on the surface. I look at Hecate as she nods. Before I even realize I’m doing it, black mist surrounds my body and lifts me through the crack. I step out of the mist onto the ground and a staff appears in my right hand. I tap it once on the ground and my white suit is replaced by an all-black leather outfit that’s definitely made for a goddess. I smirk and make eye contact with the titan across the battlefield. His sickly creatures race toward me as they notice the new threat on the field. I summon an army of ghouls from the cracks in the earth. As the aliens and the undead clash, I teleport in front of Thanos.
“And who might you be, dear?” He acts confident, but I can sense his fear.
“I am Y/N, daughter of Hecate.” He tilts his head in a questioning manner. “Oh, did someone not study mythology? Hm, then let’s be blunt, shall we? I’m a goddess, ass-chin.” I throw my staff at his throat, but he catches it. He moves to swing his large sword at me, but I capture his arm in black mist. When he tries to move the other arm, I restrain that one, as well. “Well, that surely can’t be all you’ve got, hm? Pity, I thought it’d be more exciting than that.” If I were to look in a mirror at that moment, I would’ve noticed my ghostly pale skin, black eyes, and the raw power spreading through my veins like a black road-map.
“It’s not over yet, my dear child.” Before I can question the meaning of his words, an alien tosses him the gauntlet. It slides on his exposed hand, but I hold it open with dark magic. I look around and notice that the army of the undead is nowhere to be seen. My teammates are pinned down, even with the help of those who were snapped. There is a feeling in my gut and a voice in my head that tells me what I must do. I pull the gauntlet off his hand with black mist and slide my hand inside. I feel the power surging into my body. “What are you doing? That power will kill you!” Thanos sounds truly desperate.
“That’s cute. Truly, it is, but you can’t kill someone who’s already dead.” I close my hand and snap my fingers. His army fades to dust and he slumps to the ground before floating away with them. I drop the gauntlet to the ground and look around. Natasha runs toward me and throws her arms around my neck in a firm hug.
“Wha一what happened to you? How are you here? I thought you died!”
I wrap my arms around her waist and rest my chin on her shoulder before saying, “I did die. I am dead.”
She pulls away and looks at me from head to toe. “Well that explains why you’re so damn pale, but now I have so many more questions.”
“I am Hecate’s daughter, so I am technically a goddess, like her. I’m not sure if I was technically resurrected or not, but I can probably一”
She cut me off with a gentle yet passionate kiss. She pulls away and searches my eyes. “I’ve wanted to do that for a very long time,” she admits.
“Me too,” I breathe out.
“Yeah, I picked up on that. You’re not very discrete.” I laughed and a smirk spread across her face. “As sexy as this whole ‘powerful goddess’ thing is, am I going to get the old you back? You know, the one who blushes whenever I look at her? The one who’s, like, alive?”
I smile at her and glance down at her lips as a thick black mist appears behind me. I step backward into it as her face morphs into a look of confusion. She disappears from sight as a wall of black fills my vision, and a surge of power spreads throughout my body. I fall to my knees and the black cloud disappears. Natasha rushes over and kneels in front of me. “Are you okay? What the hell was that?”
“I’m not entirely sure, but I think I’m alive again.” I lift my head and meet her eyes.
“Your skin isn’t crazy pale anymore, and your eyes are their normal color again.”
“Sweet.”
“Cool.”
We both crack up and I lean my forehead against hers as our laughter fades.
Tony interrupts our moment of peace. “This is all good and dandy, but does someone wanna explain what the hell just happened?”
I raise my head and look at my teammates一 my family. “I kicked the purple thumb’s ass. That’s what happened.” I can feel a warm presence in my heart, and I know that my mother is with me.
“Yes, yes, I noticed. I also noticed a bunch of demons. Care to explain that one?”
“They weren’t demons...they were just...the souls...of dead people. I can summon the dead. You knew that.”
“Uh, I definitely didn’t know that.” I laugh and shake my head at the eccentric man.
I stand up, pulling Natasha with me, and bring her into another embrace. “I’m really glad you’re okay, Natty,” I whisper in her ear before pressing a delicate kiss to her temple.
A/N: I literally had this completely finished and edited over a month ago and I hadn’t posted it yet soooooo... idk here it is

Remembrance AU: Lost in the Façade
Double post tonight and back on track.
Warnings: Death ; Suicidal attempt and ideation ; Unrequited[?] Love
Words: 3.8k
Getting caught up in the affairs of the gods wasn’t something you were ever hoping to do.
You remember being absolutely terrified when you saw the wooden pillar and a familiar blond sitting at the top. Remember cursing Tubbo once more at the exile of his best friend. Remembered how much you had thought it would be a mistake. Remembered trying your hardest to not make this possibility a reality.
It hadn't been easy to sneak around Dream's back to visit your little brother. It hadn't been any easier to convince Tommy to let you do so either. He was still upset at you, but you could never be mad at him for it. He was right. Siblings don't keep things from each other.
That's why, after knowing what Dream would do to him, it hurt more that he wouldn't tell you.
Dream was standing a bit to the side, laughing, despite the forlorn look on Tommy's face. The urge to kill him again flared in your stomach and you pushed it down. Tommy needed you more than you needed the green man's death.
You nearly flew to the two, hardly feeling your feet touch the ground when your heart was beating as hard as it was.
"Tommy? Tommy, what are you doing up there?" You barely heard his sigh, but he shrugged in response and you spun on Dream. The cool night air bit your cheeks, but your blood was colder. "What is he doing? Why are you just laughing?"
Dream crossed his arms in front of himself. "Oh please, [y/n]. You don't actually think he's gonna jump, do you? He's on one life left. He wouldn't."
You didn't hold the same optimism Dream did. You turned back to your brother, sitting atop the tower before you.
"Tommy? Tommy, please come down. You're scaring me!"
"What's the point, [y/n]?"
"The point is you need to be safe. It’s going to be okay, Tommy. I promise, just come down and-”
“You’re right, it is going to be okay.” He had always wondered what it was like to have wings. He remembered some things of previous lives when he had them, but he never remembered flying. Was this how it felt? The breeze brushing it’s icy fingers through his hair, trying to coax him to fall. Was this how you felt every time you were about to die?
“Tommy!” He looked back down at you, scooting closer to the edge. You looked so small. He felt smaller. It was so hard to focus with all of the thoughts drifting through his mind. No one had come to his party, his interaction with Drista was… lackluster at best. No one cared. He wasn’t in a position of power anymore, who could blame them. You, Ghostbur, and Dream probably only cared out of obligation. He could feel the mist from the sea on his face.
“Tommy, all of us," you shot a glare at Dream, but the man stood there, unphased, "most of us love you, Tommy. We'd be heartbroken if you were gone."
"Then why has no one else visited?" Your heart felt heavy in your chest and your words died on your lips. You didn’t have an answer for the blond. You could only look up at him with eyes that slowly became more glassy the longer he sat up there.
There were flashes in his mind. Ones of him finding Tubbo in another life. The time when he was a vigilante and they had lived together, the other continuously throwing him out of windows. The one where they had become fast friends during an apocalypse. The life where they had raced together and he had fallen down a cliff side.
Tubbo wasn't here for him this time.
The feeling of the breeze brushing through his hair made his back ache, longing for the lives where he had wings. He wondered if dying this time would be like when he and Wilbur were princes. He had awoken in an orchard that was so bright, so warm, he almost longed for the battlefield again. He couldn't remember the name of it now. Blue something? He remembered the morning glories that decorated it and the apple trees that littered the orchard he had awoken in. He remembered how sweet the fruits had been. Like gapples, but with the faint taste of honey. A small part of him hoped he would return there and wait for Phil once more until the next lifetime.
Another gust of wind blew past him and Tommy was shaken from his thoughts, only to hear the two conflicting voices below him.
"I know you just want attention, give it up, Tommy. This is why you don’t scheme."
"Tommy, please come down. It's not worth it. Do not listen to Dream!"
"C'mon, just jump. I know you won't."
"You're worth more than just jumping, Tommy."
"You wanted me here, Tommy. I'm your only friend now."
"You are not his friend, Dream. You're manipulating him."
"I am just telling him what he needs to hear."
Tommy's breath hitched when you shoved the masked man before you. You didn't pvp. What were you doing?
"You are trying to use him. He is not a pawn you can just play with, Dream!"
"Oh, as if you are any better." Tommy watched Dream shove you back. "None of us know who you are, [y/n]. How do we know you're not just a pawn being used yourself against all of us? How do we know you're our friend? We all remember each other. You're a new player in a game where you don't belong."
He stood above you now, porcelain mask lifeless as he started to summon his own sword. "Let's see how many lives you actually have."
Tommy noted how scared you looked, staring back at Dream, but was shocked when you just looked up at him. "Tommy, please. You need to get down. And you need to run."
Dream's sword was in hand. "Tommy, you need to find somewhere safe. Anywhere safe. Please."
An uncomfortable feeling bubbled in his chest at your words. Like you knew what would happen next. Like you knew better and were telling him the future. How could you know when you wouldn’t tell him anything?
"Tommy, you need to be safe. It's going to be okay."
The sun rose and when the light hit you, casting you in a golden glow, he believed you.
Even as Dream ran you through with his sword, he believed you. His chest flickered with long gone pain as he watched the metal disappear into your heart.
So he jumped, water bucket ready.
He landed feet away and began running as fast as he could through the underbrush. His brain was just screaming at him to go back for you. But he knew you wouldn't be there. You'd wake up in your bed here in a few seconds like every other time they had watched you die, and Dream would have him again.
He needed to find Technoblade.
When you returned to where Logstedshire once stood, you relaxed when you saw Dream still there and Tommy gone. Water pooled next to the pole and you knew he had listened to you. The man turned back onto you and you glared back. “You’ve made your last mistake, Dream.”
He didn’t pursue you when you turned back to L’Manburg.
Gods didn’t need to hunt for anything more than fun or revenge.
"He's done it again, Phil!" You nearly screeched through clenched teeth as you slammed the heavy door that led into the angel of death’s house. The immortal barely spared you a glance and continued writing in a small leather bound journal on his desk. Each stroke of the small quill made another perfectly crafted letter, absorbing his interest.
"Take a seat, mate." Phil's voice was bewitching and you immediately perched on one of the warm seats near the fire, sucking in a quivering breath. You took a moment to glance around the familiar home to maybe calm yourself, your sudden need of keeping your composure an agonizing task.
Phil was there when you had awoken on the floor of his home after speaking with Kristin, brimming with knowledge you shouldn’t have known. The man had been alive the longest. Not quite dying, always just flitting between lifetimes on the black wings of his. He had confirmed everything when you had spoken to him about your new memories, comforting you in that special way only a dad could.
Now, as you sat in the comfortable armchair, you could see evidence of every timeline he had lived through and could pinpoint each one. A green plastic bottle, a pair of fuzzy dice, a painting of an unknown woman. She didn’t look like Kristin. There were large wooden bookcases that climbed up the walls filled with great quantities of journals. How many stories did he have to tell? The fire glowing in the hearth set off a gentle glow accompanied by a warmth that made the home all the more pleasing to be in. A small carved board held a thin, dipped stick that burned on the end, causing a delightful scent of vanilla to waft around the room. You sunk into the soft piece of furniture, forcing yourself to relax just a little.
Phil watched you from the corner of his eye. He had seen you stalk across the snowy field and to his front door. You didn’t look happy, but he didn’t expect you to be. There was plenty happening on the server at all times between the same members that were at the heart of it time and time again.
He finished his thought, setting the quill aside and recapping his ink. He’d have to go collect more soon, he was running low. Leaving the page to dry, he walked to the kitchen. His wings rustled gently as they brushed past various objects. You watched him, crossing your arms. “Phil?”
“Yes, mate?” His voice was warm and just as sweet as the vanilla in the air. Fatherly.
“Does it…” You pressed your lips together, trying to properly word the sentence. “Does me being around bother you?”
Phil’s hands paused as he went to feed the furnace to warm a kettle of water. “Why would you ask something like that?”
You shrugged, leaning further into the chair. You weren’t sure if you were trying to hide from your own thoughts or if you were trying to hide from him. “Dream just-”
“Now why would you listen to him? Do you honestly care what he thinks?” You wet your lips, thinking about it.
“Kinda? I care what everyone here thinks.” There was a soft shifting as you heard Phil lean back against the counter. “Some more than others. But I do care.”
“That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Keeps you in check from doing somethin’ really wrong.” You hummed in response. “What did he say?”
“He said I don’t belong here.” You heard a scoff.
“Well, we both know that that’s not true.” You thought of Tommy up on the final remains of the territory he had been so proud of. Had he actually gotten away? You thought of Techno, now exiled in the tundra far away from where you sat now. What would he think of your choices? You thought of Wilbur -now Ghostbur- and how, despite you yelling at him being the last thing he heard, he still somehow seemed to love you. Why did he still try so hard when all you seemed to do was help with the aftermath?
A hot mug was pressed into your hands and you looked up at the only one who knew your secret.
“It’s chamomile tea. It’ll help.” You nodded at him, sipping carefully at the beverage. “Tell me everything that happened.”
So you recounted everything that had happened that night until your entrance bright and early in the blond man’s house, including your threat.
“DreamXD’s probably not going to like that you threatened Dream.”
You could only shrug.
“What does it matter? It’s not like killing me will do anything.”
“He’s a god, [y/n]. They have their ways.” You sighed. They were definitely fickle folk. Kristin had been kind enough when you saw her, despite the near-constant migraine you were trying to slowly adapt to, and your few meetings with Drista hadn’t been horrible. But you had never crossed paths with the powerful creation god. If he were anything like Dream himself, you would hate what your first encounter would be like.
“When Drista killed me, it was the same as usual, so I’m not worried. I just can’t believe I didn’t see the signs of Tommy’s spiral.”
“When she killed you?” You nodded once more. He didn’t ask anymore questions, and you didn’t supply him with any more answers.
You didn’t fear other gods after your experiences with the first two you had already been bad. They were not bad enough to deter you.
You had first met Drista when she and Tommy were finishing building the Intimidation Tower. It was an ugly thing, made out of cobblestone, and you knew that Wilbur hated that it gave away the location of the ravine, but it made Tommy happy. It made Drista happy. So you convinced Wilbur to just let it be. It made it easier for Tommy to come home when he was lost, anyways.
She had come around a lot more after that. Always attached at the hip to Tommy, always displaying godlike power, always causing mischief. She was decently polite to you, despite being younger than Tommy with a snarky attitude. But they were a good pair to watch. She always seemed to have fun with the blond, especially when he messed up. And despite how upset he seemed to be in the moment, he was always cheerful when he told you about the things he had done with her as you attached plasters to his cuts and salve to his bruises.
So why did you find her atop the intimidation tower without him?
You climbed your way up, sitting down next to her. “Hey.”
She turned her head to look at you, the familiar mask hiding her expression. “What do you want?”
“Kinda wanna know what you’re doing up here by yourself. Tommy’s asleep right now.” You watched her pull a leg up onto the ledge and hug it.
“I’m just thinking. It’s different being around you all than my brothers.”
“Brothers?” She only nodded her head. “I know about Dream, who else is your brother?”
There was a slight shake in her hand as she moved her hair back. “You’ve already met him. It’s DreamXD.”
You snickered. “DreamXD is your brother?”
“Well, yeah, why else do you think I have access to creative mode?” You hummed, looking back out at the rest of the world and away from her. You hadn’t really questioned it. You didn’t really question a lot of things about the semantics of this world. None of it ever made sense.
“Then what happened to Dream?”
“Oh, he was made, not born.” You nodded.
There was a beat, then two. It sunk in.
“Excuse me?” You heard a laugh ring from her lips.
“Why do you think we call him “Clay” sometimes? Why he doesn’t have powers? Why he shifts from life to life like the rest of them?” You took silent notice of the way she said “them” and not “you”. “He’s a creation with just as much of a soul as the rest of the players.”
You chewed on the thought. Did that make her a god as well? You didn’t ask.
“Then what were you thinking about?”
“How fragile you all are.” Your breath caught as you suddenly felt the air rush around you. You couldn’t even scream before you hit the ground, hard. The pain only lasted a moment before a yelp was heard under you and you scrambled off the bed.
Tommy was looking at you with large eyes and you muttered a small “sorry”.
He didn’t even nod at you, just shifted further back against the wall. You could never chastise someone just looking for comfort. “Y’know, it’s a little inconvenient to have you take up my whole bed while I’m out, Toms.”
“What the hell, [y/n]? I didn’t even hear you come in!”
“What were you doing in my bed? I thought I saw you lay down in your own.” You took in the dark bags under his eyes and his messy hair. He didn’t answer you, just looked away with a type of melancholy you knew you’d never hope to match. “The nightmares again, huh?”
He huffed at you, lips turning down. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was such an inconvenience.” He shook his head, moving to crawl out. “This was a mistake, I shouldn’t have-”
You moved to block him, sitting on the edge of the shoddily crafted mattress as you grabbed him and pulled him back. “That is not what I meant, and you know it.” You pushed him down gently and laid next to him with an arm across his shoulders. He squirmed in your grasp. “Tommy, stop. Talk to me.”
The blond hesitated before rolling onto his side to look at you. He looked so very young in the dim torchlight. Why did he seem to have to grow up so fast in every timeline? You moved your arm to run your fingers through his hair and he relaxed under the touch.
“Are we doing the right thing? It feels like we’re on some continuous loop and I can’t even tell if I’m just doing this because we’re the good guys or because I’m the little brother and I have to listen.” You hummed, scratching his scalp gently. “I always feel left out of the loop. And whenever I’m let in, I never have a choice on whatever it is. For the most part, I am, in fact, an idiot. But I fully admit to it, which should count for something, yeah? Why does everyone keep treating me as if I were a child? And when they aren’t treating me like one, they’re acting like I have all the answers.”
You watched his lips tremble and he scoot closer to press his face to your chest and you held him there. “Why can’t they make up their minds? I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t-” His words broke as he held onto your shirt, pressing his face closer into you. “I don’t-”
You slid your other arm under his head, holding him to you tightly. If you could save him from his own fate, you would have. You two may have not been bound by blood, but he was just as much your brother as he was Wilbur and Techno’s. You would die for him. You would kill for him. You’d do just about anything he asked. You’d protect him from anything.
The gods would have to wipe your existence from everything to get to the ones you loved.
Dream stood next to his brother, floating silently with identical masks. You weren’t afraid of them, but your lip trembled despite your resolve. DreamXD cocked his head at you, as if he himself hadn’t been the one to leave you next to that river and wasn’t aware of your existence. You grit your teeth silently.
“XD.” You greeted. The god’s head corrected before he reached up to remove his mask. An “x” scar crossed his face where his eyes should have been and he grinned at you. He recovered his face once more before blipping out of sight. There would be no fight from him today, but that was a warning.
“Well then, [Y/n], tell me. What do you think would happen to you if they knew your secret? Wouldn’t it make you happy to be able to indulge in the privilege we all seem to have?” You paused, a second turning to a minute, and your heart started to sound like it was beating out of your chest. You considered the possibilities. “Well?”
Dream cursed, his brother now gone. He’d have to do this himself. He too removed his mask and you steeled yourself, crossing your arms. You stared at Dream’s face, bare from the smiling mask that everyone was so accustomed to, displaying the sneer he held special for you. Your back was straight. You were firm. Your gaze unwavering and directing back as much of a threat as his. "I can't understand why you don't like me. You basically built this land from the ground up, and you turn out to be like this?"
His lip curled and your eyes flickered to his lips for a moment before you were back to glaring into his eyes. "You better watch your tongue around me. You can’t fool me with your little “no past lives” act. And you can’t make everyone like you. I know I don’t."
"You're the first who doesn’t, then. And just because you don’t believe that I have no other lives doesn’t mean you can go blabbing to the whole server either.”
“What makes me happy doesn’t matter. If others like me for who I am now, I’m fine.” This turned his curled lip into a full sneer, and you couldn’t stand to look at him anymore.
“See? This is why I don’t like you!” He grabbed your shoulders, and it took every ounce of your willpower to not yank yourself away. “You try to make everyone else happy and leave yourself in the dust! You can’t just do that.”
You swore your heart skipped a beat when you looked back up at him, and your eyes connected once. He wasn’t angry. He was worried. You couldn’t tell if it was for you or for the lost potential, but it was something you had never expected to come from Dream of all people. “Why do you care so much? This doesn’t affect you.”
“Anything concerning my brother affects me.”
“How does this affect XD?” He released you from his grasp.
“Because you are an anomaly and you shouldn’t be here.”
“Then why doesn’t he do something about it? Or Kristin? Or even Drista?” You couldn’t ignore the way he looked away, seemingly ashamed.
“Because they can’t.”
So what did it mean when the gods couldn’t touch you?

summary: it takes a lot to catch the attention of an adepti - especially Xiao. Although still confused by the unfamilliar feeling, he's got his eyes on her around Liyue or Wangshu Inn.
Tumblr media
'There she goes again', Xiao thought as he saw you strutting just outside Wangshu Inn, bowing repeatedly to say your apologies to the person you accidentally bumped into. You were running and seemed to be in a hurry when suddenly this man blocked the road you were speeding in, causing you and him to clash. Xiao doesn't normally care about mortal lives, it just so happened that whenever he decided to rest outside the terrace of Wangshu Inn you would always be somewhere outside catching his attention. You're either running around in a hurry or working your ass off trying to make a living by selling sweets and delicacies that somehow became the favorite place for kids around town to visit.
'how clumsy. human lives really are fragile.' he unconsciously thought to himself as he continues to watch from a distance. He saw how you laughed it off with the man you accidentally bumped, how it was easy for you to smile and radiate a warm aura. In his eyes you looked pure. Xiao compared himself to you and scowled at the thought that he could never be someone like you. He feels his chest tighten as he gets reminded of his own demons, his past and all of those who he slaughtered with his own hands, the bloodbath forever painted in his memory. Frowning, he sighed and decided to shrug the ugly feeling off. His eyes wandered around, unconsciously trying to look for your familiar aura only to find you gone from the last spot he saw you standing. With nothing else to do, he kept searching until he caught a glimpse of you from a distance near Dihua Marsh, gliding around with Venti as he creates wind currents for both of you to fly on.
'ah, the bard' he thought. You two were having fun and he can tell you're enjoying yourself just by the look of how you laughed. Xiao felt calm watching you simply being you. Even if it's from a distance, a part of him craved for that warmth somewhere close to him. He wondered what it would feel if someone like you would share that to someone as tainted as him. Xiao glowered when he realized that he was longing for a human. He stopped himself from thinking any more than that. There was no need for you to be involved with the likes of him, it would only make him feel worse knowing that he would be of no good to you. He didn't want your pure glow and warmth to fade away because of him. Xiao sighed and decided to walk back in the inn where he would rather rest to keep your memory out of his head. He had known you for quite sometime now, despite it being from a distance it was surprising that he felt like he had met you. It wasn't difficult for him to somehow feel comfortable seeing your presence outside the Inn. He loved the way your clothes would flow against your body, how your skin looks soft under the sunlit sky. You looked ethereal, he simply adores that and is unknowingly thirsty to get a taste of your gentle touch. Despite refusing to involve himself to mortals he still grew a liking to you, making you an exception. He convinced himself that he doesn't have any time to meddle with a human's life yet his thoughts and actions contradicts this. He feels like he's about to lose his mind as scenarios of you and him fill it up. Xiao leaned back to his chair, throwing his head back as he massages the bridge of his nose. He looked like he couldn't bear to think more of you or he'll go insane. It wasn't enough to just simply think of you - he wanted your presence, he wanted it near and he wanted it now.
Xiao growled and glared at the wall. Standing up, he went out of the Inn. He decided to just come get you himself. He realized how long he was lost in his thoughts when he noticed the moonlight outside. He didn't mind it and just continued to venture out in search of your familiar scent and aura, hoping he'll catch a glimpse of you somewhere near. It didn't take long until he saw you close on a cliff just outside the parameters of the Inn, desperately trying to reach out to the violetgrass you were trying to harvest. Xiao stayed hidden in the branches of a tall tree, hesitating and rethinking his actions because he was unsure of how to interact with you. He was worried he would just scare you away since he was, after all, a vigilant yaksha adeptus. He noticed you struggling to take a hold of the particular flower so he decided to take matters in his own hands and to just help you with it. Xiao leaped and swiftly took it as he landed beside you to hand it over. Surprised by how fast everything went by, you stared at the man in front of you, his golden honey eyes glimmered from the soft light of the full moon added by the glow of the Wangshu Inn from a distance made everything perfect. He was breathtaking, you felt your heart pounding as you reached out to take the flower from his hand. You knew who he was, mainly because you would often hang out with Venti to ask about him. There was something about this adepti that made you want to learn more about who he was. People in Liyue says that he rarely shows himself, even during the Lantern Rite Festival you find yourself hoping for him to come out. And now lo and behold, he's right in front of you - the man you have always hoped to meet.
"thank you," you gave him a slight bow to show your gratitude for his help. You were also extremely worried that he might hear the loud beating of your heart because of how quiet the night was. "it's dangerous to be out here at this time." He said, his voice as cold as the wind blowing. You smiled and chuckled at him before you replied "my bad, I wanted to help out Baizhu because he needed some Violetgrasses. They ran out of it and I couldn't let Qiqi do it herself" you feel Xiao's gaze piercing at you so you look down and felt a shiver ran down your spine everytime the wind blowed. You didn't know what he was thinking, he's unpredictable. His gaze didn't show a hint of what was on his mind. "you're cold. come." your face immediately flared up when he reached out his arm around your waist to pull you closer to him. The butterflies in your stomach went crazy when you felt your bodies touch. Xiao summoned his primordial jade spear as he tightly held you close, you felt a sharp cold all over your skin as you closed your eyes and the next thing you know, both of you are at where it seems to be like the Wangshu Inn. The view was amazing from Xiao's quarters, you can see Mt. Qingce and Jueyun Karst far in the distance under the night sky. He was standing right beside you, an arm still around your waist and as you're busy admiring the view outside, Xiao was preoccupied studying your features. He thought your hair smelled nice, and that the shape of your body fit right in his arms. It was amazing how he made you feel so comfortable despite just meeting each other.
"you feel familiar... and your warmth, I'm drawn to it." he says with a straight yet calm voice. Xiao was doing his best to stop himself from just throwing you on the bed and be one with you. As much as he wants that, he wouldn't want you to feel unsafe around him. He didn't want to hurt you either because he knows what his strength is capable of. Blood rushed to your face as embarrassment seeped in by hearing his words. Maybe it was because he felt the same way as you did that caused an uproar to the butterflies in your stomach. Still quietly standing there, you were unsure of what to do. You were cautious that your actions might come off as rude or disrespectful to an adeptus like him. He studied your expression and slowly turned to look away and fixed his gaze on the painting to his right instead. "are you afraid?... do I scare you?" he calmly asked. It was almost as if he was ashamed of himself in which you immediately denied to. "of course not! It's just that I want to be closer to you but I'm afraid I'll make you feel uncomfortable. I really am happy to be here." you tried to reach out to touch him but decided to stop in your tracks, your hand left hanging in the air. A part of you wanted to comfort him, to close that gap between the two of you but at the same time you didn't want to cross his boundaries. Xiao didn't know what to feel, it has been a while since he felt happy and he thought he almost forgot this type of emotion. He's very new to this kind of thing, he hasn't done this to any other woman besides you so he although he didn't want to admit felt slightly embarrassed about opening himself up to you. Xiao fixed his gaze to meet your eyes, his honey orbs shining in the moonlight leaving you mesmerized by his beauty. He was breahtaking and you could feel his eyes burning holes in your body. It was as if he wanted to say something but just couldn't--just hoping you would get the memo through eye contact. Xiao broke the tension to look at your hand still in the air. You noticed him staring and as you were about to place it back down he caught it with his own and laced his fingers into yours. Embarrassment started to wash all over you. You wanted to yank your hand back but you knew you'll immediately miss his touch if you do so. Unconsciously you bit your lip to stop your face from turning into a complete replica of a tomato. Seeing that sight of you drove Xiao crazy, the eagerness to be closer with you grew faster as every second passes by. Xiao isn't usually the type to be the first to make a move but he yearned for you so much until he could no longer take it. He acted without thinking twice and went in for a kiss, his hands slowly going up to cup the back of your head to pull you closer. You were surprised but you soon didn't have the time to care about it because of how easily you got drunk by his kisses. It was obvious Xiao didn't have much experience in this, his kisses were sloppy but at the same time it was gentle. It was slow and he took the time to explore your mouth as his tongue slipped in. Your knees trembled as the tension around the two of you grew, any further than this might make your legs give in. You clinged on to him as your knees felt jelly, Xiao groaning in the process in response to your sudden shift of movement.
Hearing him groan was the cherry on top for you to go insane. It was too much and you feel your body heating up as both of you grew more needy of each other's touch. With one hand cupping the back of your head, Xiao placed his other on your waist to pull you closer. Your bodies touched as he continues to make out with you, he pulled you in so close that your boobs are all pressed up against him. You groaned when you felt his boner, driving Xiao crazy when he too felt stimulated. "mhm," he moaned, hand gripping tighter on your waist. You were so close that you can't help but grind on his hardened member while both of you moaned in each other's kisses. Xiao held on to your thighs, pulling it up to carry you. You felt his dick graze on your clothed pussy, the friction making you dripping wet. Xiao carried you and laid you on his soft bed, making sure that your head would be supported by a pillow underneath. He was caring despite his hungry kisses and you blushed at the thought of him being thoughtful for your well being. Xiao didn't waste any time after he laid you in bed, he reached out for your clothes and slowly stripped you out of each garment, planting hickeys here and there as his hands traveled on your sensitive body. "mhm... Xiao...more.. please--hngh" you tried to beg only to be cut off by your own moan when Xiao decided to place his lips on your nipple, his free hand groping the other. "be a patient good girl for me." he cooed. Xiao was emitting such lewd sounds as he sucked on your nipple, his other hand slowly making its way down to your already wet cunt, his fingers kneading slow circles on your folds. You squirmed and moaned underneath him, your knees folded and closed due to the sensation. "how sensitive.. so pretty." Xiao nibbled on your lips before using his hand to pull your knees apart to allow him to move his fingers easier. He wanted you wide open for him, all stretched out for him so he can feel you dripping for him. You arched your back when you feel him press his digits on the folds of your pussy, slowly prodding on the entrance while his thumb was kneading on your budding clit. You tightened around his fingers, each move heating you up as you craved for more. Xiao kept planting hickeys around your breasts, occasionally sucking and licking on your nipple while his fingers played with your pretty little cunt.
"hngh... want you.. Xiao--ngh" you begged. Any more of his stimulation might make you cum, especially when he knew exactly where to touch you down there. Xiao ignored your plea, still insisting on teasing you. He liked the idea of being in control and having you weak for him with your mouth open while you moan, eyes shut, hands gripping on his hair and back arched while your pussy is being played. He used slow motions to play with your folds and the insides of you, making sure that he touches the right spots to send shivers down your legs. "no.. ngh.. Xiao.. faster--please" you pleaded breathlessly. But Xiao was strict and stubborn to his actions and instead of obeying to your wishes, he switched from sucking on your nipple to nibbling on your ear. "so needy." he whispered as he curled his fingers inside you and made small circles on the walls of your pussy. You were a moaning mess, he hit your g-spot so good that you tightened around him. You feel it building up inside you, if he keeps going any further you might just come on his hand right then and there. Xiao used his two digits to spread and carress the walls of your pussy, giving you no choice but to just moan harder to the sensation. "Xiao--nnghh I might.. I--" Xiao cut you off, his lips shutting you up as he kissed you torridly.
"Not yet." his voice was stern and strict. It felt more like an order that you had to obey or else you'll face consequences should you wish to disobey him. He pulled out his fingers before you reached your limit. You feel your cunt throbbing, eagerly craving for him to fill you up. Xiao sat back to strip himself, his hands finding its way to grip on your knees to keep it wide open for him. You took a good glimpse of his cock, tip already dripping with precum. You wanted it in so bad. Xiao wasted no time and began to grind the tip of his member on your clit, making sure that his dick is coated by the juices of your wet pussy. Your moans echoed in his room, he was teasing you and he did it nice and slow, making you more and more impatient. You wanted to beg, to make him hear your pleas but you did your best to remain patient and do as he ordered. After a while of more teasing, he loomed over you. His hair was falling on his face as he prompted himself over you and you swore the sight could make any woman in Teyvat lose their sanity.
"good girl." he burrowed his face in the crook of your neck and planted soft kisses on it, his hands carressing your torso and groping your breasts all while at the same time making you feel the tip of his cock enter your pussy. You were so wet and it wasn't even his whole dick inside you yet, the stimulation just drove you insane and knowing that it was Xiao fucking you was enough to turn you into a moaning hot mess. You feel the tip slip in and you arched your back as you moaned. He was all over your body, making sure that his hands and lips were planted on your skin so you don't forget his warmth. He kept teasing, only letting the tip in and grinding it in the entrance of your dripping cunt. "hngnh.. Xiao.. please--ughn, I want it.. in-" It was this familiar feeling again. Any more of his teasing and you might just come. It was just too good and a big part of you just wanted his whole thing stuffed in you. "hmm.. so impatient." he cooed, his lips brushing on your neck and all the way down to your shoulder. He planted one last kiss on you before sitting back up, his hands now gripping on your knees to spread them wide. He took his member out and held it, using the tip to gather the slick dripping from your cunt before shoving his whole dick in. Moans were the only thing escaping from your lips, head filling in with ecstasy as Xiao pounds his cock in you. He was going in so fast and deep, the curve of his cock grinding on the pulsating tight walls of your wet needy pussy.
"ngh..." his moans were a major turn on and you paired it up with your own sets of moans too, making it the only sound being heard in the room other than the sound of skin slapping from being fucked hard by an adeptus. The pounding of his cock inside you was enough to bring you to cloud9. You reached out to his arms and hugged him close, your fingers digging on his back as his thrusts grew faster. The built up orgasm you had from all his teasing earlier was coming back again but you paid no mind to it and continued moaning. "oh! Xiao... there.. deeper---there!" he went in much closer to you, face buried beside your neck while his hands travelled down to grip on your butt, raising it up a little so he could hit the deepest parts of you better. His cock prodded on your walls that was now tightening up more than before. You were so good around his member, your pussy enveloping every part of his throbbing dick inside you.
"Xiao.. coming.. hnngg--" you wrapped your legs around him to pull him closer, wanting every inch of him go deeper as you neared your orgasm. "Go on. Come for me." he said it with his raspy panting voice right in your ear and licked it as he rammed his cock in a slower but deeper pace. Once again you were a moaning mess, helplessly calling out his name in between moans. You spasmed as you came, toes curling in and your fingers drawing lines on his back as you digged them in his skin. He let out the sexiest moan as you feel his load being shot inside you, deliciously filling you up and the rest dripping out at the entrance of your creaming pussy along with your own cum.
You lay there breathlessly under him, your head still high up in the clouds. You feel him panting beside you and he proceeded to hug you as he rolled over to the side, not minding that his cock was still stuffed inside you. You liked the sloppy feeling of your pussy dripping with his cum and his dick coated by the creamy walls of your hot cunt.
You hugged him back, snuggling in close to him and slowly drifting to sleep. You felt him kiss your forehead after a while and his hand cupped the back of your head to pull you closer to his chest. You had the sweetest dream that night and you couldn't be any more happier than knowing that you were wrapped in his arms during your sleep.

Sureynot is back at it again with some fun requests 😂🤩🥰 Please enjoy!
The Pillarmen with an s/o who's an adrenaline junkie...
(Under the cut for length...)
Tumblr media
Kars:
• Kars seriously disapproves of this hobby of yours.
• Mostly because when he met you he was under the impression that you were smarter than to even attempt half of the things you do for "fun".
• Once he found out that your idea of a good time was riding a bike down a rocky mountain at full speed or dangling from the edge of a cliff from a rope like a spider, he was sure you were crazy.
• Perhaps Humans really have regressed after all...
• Just because he could vault himself off a cliff without a care in the world or thought of bodily harm doesn't mean that you, a fragile little Human, should as well.
• If you insist that you're fine because of all the precautions you take when going out to do something risky, it does little to ease him.
• Initially, he tries to forbid you from going out and doing such dangerous things but you offered for him to come along anytime and supervise; which he ended up accepting.
• He'll admit that he feels a little better when he's at least with you just in case anything happens.
• "Isn't this great?" You laugh, peering back to glance at your mate (whom you were strapped to) as you dangled from the base of the cliff by your abs. "Just look at that view!"
• Kars couldn't be bothered to even try to enjoy the sunset scene far, far below when he was laying parallel in the air like this.
• If you wanted to watch the sunset, why not just stand upright ON the cliff?
• "When do we get to the fun part?" He sighed, his underlying bitterness only making you laugh. "This IS the fun part!"
• Should you happen to hurt yourself on any of your solo excursions you can at least always count on him to patch you up when you get Home.
• Showing up with a few scrapes and bruises here and there doesn't bother him very much but if you ever end up breaking a bone, prepare for a scolding of a lifetime.
• He will not let you do anything even close to risky until you are fully healed and from that moment on he makes it clear that he's accompanying you on ALL of your trips and supervising the scene.
• It's kind of funny, in a way he has fallen right into your trap; spending more quality time with you rather than staying cooped up in his office doing work all the time.
Esidisi:
• It takes Esidisi as a surprise when he finds out about your little hobbies.
• He never realized that doing such risky, heart palpatiating stunts was considered enjoyable to some Humans.
• His curiosity piqued, you'll find yourself dragging him along to one of your most favourite activities so he can watch and maybe try his hand at it.
• You've created a monster.
• An adrenaline pumped, 7ft tall, inhuman, older than dirt monster.
• He LOVES this sport. The sights, heights, the high-speed action, the spine tingling, the rushing going to his head; HE LOVES IT.
• It all puts a much hotter fire burning in his blood.
• Soon, he starts dragging YOU along to watch HIM do extremely risky activities and stunts.
• Like watching him bungee jump off the tallest building in the country while chugging 2 energy drinks at the same time as he records the whole thing for YouTube.
• Despite his newfound love for the most extreme of extreme, he's also content to just spend some time doing simpler risky activities like white-water rafting or rock climbing with you.
• If he ever gets injured (no matter how bad) it doesn't bother him in the slightest of course.
• However, if you get seriously hurt on the other hand, it sends all kinds of alarm bells off for him.
• He thinks that maybe he's to blame and that he's been a bad influence on you and your mortality.
• "IT'S MY FAULT!!! IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!!" Esidisi sobbed loud enough that his voice rang off the Hospital walls. Endless rivulets of hot tears left your shirt absolutely soaked where he clung to you like a limplet in the bed.
• You could only sigh, your gaze peering past the dense curls of the floof of his hair blocking your vision to your propped up leg and the clean white cast that had just been put on it.
• "Esidisi, this is NOT your fault." You told him, hands instinctively going to rub his back as the tears kept coming and coming. "I should've checked the tire on my bike before driving it down that hillside, it was just an accident. It's just a broken leg."
• (*bike crash* Fred voice: MY LEG!!!)
• Thankfully, his tears ebb when you tell him that he can sign your cast.
• He might even offer to take you across the world to sight see and do some more thrilling activities to make up for it when you're all healed if you're up for the adventure.
Wamuu:
• All of this started when Wamuu noticed that you had a bunch of strange gear in storage.
• When he asked you why you needed so many helmets and ropes and knee and elbow pads, you happily indulged him about your adrenaline seeking hobbies and how you liked to jump off cliffs.
• You definitely have some more explaining to do.
• Admittedly it takes Wamuu a good few minutes to wrap his head around it all.
• "So... you do all of these dangerous things... for a thrill?" He questioned, eyebrows knitted together. "To prove yourself?"
• As you nodded, grinning hugely, he realizes that he shares a similar trait by fighting worthy opponents in the arena.
• The most brutal, sweat inducing, heart pounding fights gave him great tenacity and you experienced the very same when climbing somewhere high or going fast.
• He wants to try this with you.
• Next thing he knows he's all geared up with a helmet and a harness and a rope, standing at the bottom of a HUGE Rockwall.
• "First one to the top wins," was all you said before starting to climb as fast as you could with the Warrior right behind you, a fierce gleam in his eye and a fang revealing grin.
• Though keeping mindful of your safety, he likes to challenge you and both of you find yourselves often pushing each other's limits.
• Who could climb the fastest? Row the fastest? Bike the fastest? Set up camp the fastest?
• If you happen to hurt yourself while playing your thrill little games together he's always prepared and will most definitely put a bandage on you when needed.
• Even Wamuu knows that the Hello Kitty ones heal the best.
• If you're ever unfortunate enough to do yourself enough damage to break something, that care shown for you doesn't change.
• In fact, he commends you for being so strong and will praise you even more when you talk about jumping right back into it when you're properly healed again.
• He won't let you go anywhere until that day comes though, no matter how up to the challenge you think you are.
• All in all, your determination and your fiery spirit is what makes him absolutely adore you afterall.
Santana:
• Like many things he faces, Santana is quite indifferent to heart-stopping stunts.
• It was no surprise really, he was an apex lifeform; there was nothing that could do him harm and he had faced many dangerous things in his life alone so there wasn't much that got his heart pounding.
• However his curiosity is piqued when he learns that you deliberately partook in risky activities just for the fun of it all.
• Be prepared for many questions as to what exactly you enjoyed doing and the benefit of doing it for you.
• If you should ask him to accompany you on an activity, he won't say no but he prefers to observe you rather than partake himself.
• He views every outing with you as a learning experience.
• He gets to learn all about the activity, its History and any gear you happen to bring along and then watch the ins and outs of it all first hand as you and maybe a few other Humans do it.
• He finds it interesting that Humans would take such risks when they are already the most fragile and flawed race in existence.
• He wasn't sure whether it was carelessness or maybe just plain not realizing your own mortality.
• If you happen to coax him into actually gearing up and doing an activity with you, don't expect any major reaction on his part when you get there.
• Whether it's skydiving, rock-climbing, white water rafting, poking a sleeping bear with a stick, you name it; you can't quite piece together what's going on in that head of his.
• He just looks almost bored the entirety of the time.
• "YEAHHHHH!!!" You squealed with glee, the air whistling in your ears as wind all around you whipped and whirled, plummeting straight from the sky.
• Santana was dead silent, arms folded and practically glaring at the ground where it sat miles upon miles away below you both.
• The only thing he was looking forward to after the parachute chord was pulled and his feet was on solid ground again was going to grab a bite to eat...
• However, while the activity doesn't, any injuries you happen to sustain from doing them spark a reaction in Santana.
• He doesn't like seeing you hurt, no matter how minor it is.
• That being said, the chances of you getting seriously hurt are very, very low with Santana always on watch while you're off having fun.
• If he has to, he'll throw himself under you and let his body go to rubber to give you a soft landing and prevent you from breaking something.
• All in all, he doesn't really mind your extreme hobbies. You alone give him a thrill by teaching him much new things.

a/n: this is unedited, so sorry about the mistakes. i saw a lot of trouble going around with plagiarism on wattpad and i did report a lot of books with stolen fics and props to you guys for getting a few actually taken down!! plagiarism and theft of intellectual property is HURTFUL, writers put SO MUCH into their work, and it’s not so you can get some votes on a wattpad page. also, boys using lovely as a nickname is ;alsdjffenve.
How long is forever supposed to be? Months? Years, decades, lifetimes? Forever was supposed to be you and JJ.
Forever feels like the 15 minutes that he’s been fighting you for.
“Y/n, I don’t get why you’re turning this into such a big deal.”
“Stop doing that. Stop acting like I don’t get to be mad. I do! I am! You know, you always do this JJ.” “I do not.” “You do. I’m sick of it. I’m- I’m sorry, JJ, but I’m done. I don’t wanna do this anymore,” you sniffle. You refuse to cry. Not in front of him. “We’re going in circles, I really think it’s time to, to just call it quits.” You shrug. JJ is silent. You wait, you yourself need to process what just came out of your mouth.
JJ is on the couch. He leans on his knees with his elbows and his head is hanging low. He nods. Slowly at first, then quicker.
“Okay,” he sighs, “You’re right. You’re right.” You nod, relieved that he agreed with you. A bigger part of you was upset that he agreed with you. It would’ve been nice if he had put up some kind of a fight.
“So, uh, I’ll go.” “Yeah.”
You collapsed onto the couch, rubbing a hand over your face. A brightly colored magazine was open on the coffee table in front of you. Cheetah printed bold letters spelled out a headline:
The 7 Ways He’ll Tell You He Loves You.
Talk about bad timing. You flipped the cover back over it.
#1: He’ll flat out tell you.
“You know, you’re one of the dumbest boys I’ve ever met.” “Right back at you.” JJ grinned up at you. “Oh, low blow, dude.” You laughed, tackling him down onto the bed. JJ fell back with a loud oof, the breath knocked out of his stomach.
“One day, you’ll do that and I won’t get up, you know that? You’re actually going to be the death of me.” “Oh, I hope so. I’m already sick of you.” “This is literally you confessing to my murder.” He laughed, shoving you off him so he could hover over you instead. “They won’t arrest me, I’m too cute.” You gave him a cheesy smile.
“That you are,” JJ smirked, leaning down to press soft kisses into the skin between your jaw and your neck. You hummed in approval as he pulled away. You fiddled with the necklace which dangled from his neck. “I love you,” he muttered.
“ ‘Til I murder you?”
He pecked your lips. “Til you murder me.”
He couldn’t have fought for you? Put up some sort of argument? This was a stupid battle to pick with yourself. You were the one who instigated the break up.
Maybe you weren’t expecting him to actually agree with you. You weren’t expecting him to let you end things.
#2: He’ll protect you.
“Maybank, I swear to god, if you don’t get us down from here right now I will throw your ass off this cliff.” “It’s really not that high up!” “Holy shit!” You yelped and turned to bury your face in JJ’s chest. He instinctively wrapped his arms around you.
“Hey, you’re okay, alright? You’re okay. I’m not gonna let anything happen to you. I got you. It’s okay, I got you.” JJ assured you, laughing a little through his words at how tightly you were clutching his tank top.
The next couple of weeks hurt like hell. It’s a sad process, trying to leave behind someone you were rooted to so deeply. You’d see him at parties or even just out on the street sometimes.
His eyes always followed you. When you were dating, you were amazing at being able to tell when JJ was watching you.  A shiver used to run over your spine, and you’d turn and immediately meet his eyes. He’d smirk and raise his hand to salute you.
God, how you missed that smirk.
Apparently, after you stopped dating, your body never forgot what it felt like when his eyes were on you. These days, when you turned to look at him his eyes were intense. He held your eyes for a second. One second when you could forget how you cried and how he left without kissing  you goodbye.
Then he looked away.
#3: He thinks of you when you’re not with him.
“Hey, baby, look at this.” JJ threw the door to the Chateau open and marched over to you. His smile was proud, like a child trying to impress his mom. He stuck out his hand and dropped a small square magnet into yours. You flipped it over to see the front.
It was brown and painted badly to look wooden. There were two u-shaped magnets painted on as well, and it read, ‘I can’t help but be attracted to you’. You read this out loud and JJ grinned, ecstatic with his choice.
 “Where did you get this?” You snorted. “It was at some cheesy gift shop. It made me think of you so I had to buy it.” “It’s perfect. I love it.” You stood to kiss his cheek and slid the magnet onto the fridge. “You’re very welcome.”
JJ has always been nearly unreadable. He’s scarily good at hiding his thoughts and feelings from everyone around him, often including his best friends. You knew John B at least had some knowledge of JJ’s emotions, but you doubted the rest of the group did.
You had at least managed to make a couple cracks in the hard walls he had built up around himself.
#4: He shows you his emotions.
You gaped in awe at the bruises littering his torso. You had no idea just how bad it was. You had no idea why he never told you.
“I can’t take him anymore, Y/n, I can’t take it- can’t do it anymore.” JJ sobbed, his arms tightening around you. You guided his head down to your shoulder.
“I know, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, J. C'mere.” You took a deep breath. You would not cry. Not when he needed you to be strong. “Let it out. You’re okay now.” You locked eyes with John B, terrified.
His tears soaked the skin on your shoulder and the first of many that night fell into his hair.
But since the breakup, from what you saw of him you couldn’t get anything. His face was expressionless every time you made eye contact with him.You had seen him smile at his friends once or twice, but nothing real. JJ was very good at fake smiles. They looked nearly identical to his real ones. But you loved him for long enough to know what a real one should look like.
#5: He’ll try and make you laugh.
“Why are you sad, lovely? Stop it, I hate seeing you sad.” JJ pulled you on his chest, brushing hairs out of your face. You shook your head, tucking your face into his chest.
“Ok. Fine. You leave me no other choice.” JJ sighed loudly. “What do you call Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when he tells time?”
He waited a second for an answer that never came. “Dwayne ‘The Clock’ Johnson.”
You laughed abruptly, but it came out as a sob. You didn’t lift your head.
“Alright, you want more, fine. What do you call Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when he won’t shut up? Dwayne ‘The Talk’ Johnson. What do you call Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when the doorbell is broken? Dwayne ‘The Knock’ Johnson. What do you call Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when he wears comfortable, breathable footwear? Dwayne ‘The Croc’ Johnson.”
Your whole body was shaking with uncontrollable laughter now. You were certain that JJ had been practicing those at some point.
“No more, no more, please,” You finally lifted your head and JJ wiped away a fallen tear with his thumb. You choked on a laugh. “So how long did it take you to come up with those?”
JJ frowned. “What do you mean, I came up with those like just now!” He laughed.
“Okay, sure, JJ.” “Don’t test me, I have like, 8 more.”
You think the worst part about this is being lonely. You’re surrounded by comforting friends who try and take you places and get you to have fun but at the end of the night you go home to an empty bed and you wake up in an empty bed.
And every morning without fail, you’ll wake up and reach for him. And every morning without fail, he won’t be there.
#6: He’ll make romantic gestures.
“JJ? Where are you?” You sat up, groggily. He wasn’t in bed, that’s for sure.
“G’morning, lovely,” JJ strolled into your room, carrying a tray. You propped yourself up on the headboard and took it from him.
“Aw, JJ, what is all this?” “Breakfast.” “You made breakfast?”
JJ stole a berry off your plate and popped it in his mouth, nodding. He took a seat near your legs.
JJ can’t cook for shit.
“Baby, it’s okay, it’s the thought that counts, I thought it was sweet!” “Nah, dude, that was shitty, I’m sorry. That bread tasted like a frying pan.” “The berries were good.” “That’s because all I did to them was wash them.”
You hit up another party with your friends. They were the best kind of distraction. You pulled up the green bikini strap that was falling down your shoulders. This was his favorite top.
“Y/l/n!” You heard a voice shout. “Y/n!”
You turned to see who was shouting your name and smiled at John B. “Hey, Routledge, good to see you!” “Hey, Y/n. Look, I know you guys aren’t on talking terms- “John B, no,” You interrupted, but he kept talking over you.
“But, please, Y/n, he won’t talk to anybody and we’re all worried about him.” “I really can’t, I don’t think he- “He’s in the van. Driver’s seat. Thank you!” And then he was gone. You huffed.
You could see the van from here and you could barely make out a figure sitting in the front seat.
You stood there for a second before you forced yourself to get over it and you made your way around dancing teenagers to the van.
You pulled open the door and climbed into the passenger seat. He turned to look at you.
“Hi,” you forced out. This felt uncomfortably unfamiliar. “Hey, Y/n.”
“How are you?” He asked. He was being formal. He was never formal with you.
“Fine, I guess. What about you?”
He said nothing. “Small talk? Is that what we are now? We have to make small talk?” He laughed, exasperated.
“I know you hate small talk.”
“What happened to us?” His eyes are wet, and he doesn’t look at you, just stares straight ahead. “I made a mistake.” You said it out loud. You hadn’t forced yourself to admit it yet. That you were wrong for putting him in this position.
“What?” He turned to look at you.
“I shouldn’t have broken up with you. I think some part of me thought you wouldn’t actually let me do it. That you would fight to make us work.” You shrugged. Your eyes watered up.
“Well, I didn’t want to break up with you.” He spoke quickly.
“What?” Now it was your turn to be confused.
“Of course I never wanted to leave you, Y/n. I love you.” “But you said I was right. And you left.” “I thought that was what you wanted. I want you happy. If that means I have to get out of the picture, then I’m gone. I left because I thought you wanted me to go.”
You scoff. “So, all this time we’ve just been playing ourselves.”
JJ laughs, a wet one. “You know, nobody told me just how fucking useless I was going to be without you.” He finally really looks at you.
There’s a half smile on his face and his eyes are full of tears.
You leap into him, and he meets you halfway. He buries his forehead on your shoulder and his hand is holding the back of your head. “I missed you. I missed you so much, lovely.” He cries into your hair.
#7: He’ll do anything if it means you’re happy.

So.
Tommy isn’t Theseus. Every time I see Techno’s analogy about Tommy being Theseus brought up I’m filled with endless rage and I’ve DECIDED!
That it’s about time I explained just why it’s so objectively incorrect.
-
First: a bit of backstory on Theseus, because I doubt many of you actually know much about him beyond what Techno said in his “so you want to be a hero” speech, which left out a lot of relevant details.
Theseus was a demigod with two fathers and one mother. His fathers were king Aegeus of Athens and the sea god Poseidon, and his mother was Aethra, Aegeus’ wife. Aethra raised Theseus on her own, far from Athens to avoid him being assassinated.
Aegeus left him nothing but a sword with the Athenian crest and a pair of sandals, buried under a rock so no one else could get them.
When Theseus came of age, he took the sword and sandals and headed up to Athens, slaying various monsters along the way. (It pains me to abbreviate it that much, but Techno left out everything before the Minotaur so it won’t help me much in debunking his analogy.)
Once he got to Athens, he met up with his dad, chased out his stepmom Medea, (yes, that Medea) and killed some people. Then comes the relevant part.
Crete had won a war against Athens a while back, and because of this, every seven years Athens was forced to send 14 tributes to be killed by the Minotaur. (Yes, this inspired the Hunger Games)
Theseus decided he’d volunteer and kill the Minotaur, thus ending the tribute system for good and getting one over on Athens. He promised his dad that if he won, he’d come back in a ship with white sails, as opposed to the standard mourning black that signified the death of the tributes.
So he went to Crete, met king Minos and his daughters Ariadne and Phaedra, and got sent into the labyrinth. Ariadne gave him a magic ball of string that kept him from getting lost, allowing him to find the Minotaur and then safely get out afterwards, providing he could kill it.
He killed it, led his other 13 tributes out, and sailed back home. On the way, Athena told him to leave Ariadne stranded on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, so he immediately did so, because Theseus was an asshole.
He got home, his dad committed suicide because Theseus forgot the white sails and his dad assumed he’d died, Theseus became king and married Phaedra, and then the fun began, because again, Theseus was an asshole.
First, he cheated on Phaedra with Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, so she left and took the kids. Next, he and his other asshole friend Pirithous decided to kidnap themselves some new wives. Theseus decided on Helen of Troy, who was a child at the time, and Pirithous decided on Persephone, which resulted in both him and Theseus getting stuck in the Underworld for a while due to pissing off Hades.
Once he got back up, he killed his son for fucking his wife, which is messed up on many levels, and then left Athens because his people were rightfully not super okay with that.
Then he goes and meets Lycomedes, who throws him off a cliff.
-
Next, let’s talk about Techno’s speech a bit.
He starts off by accusing Tommy of being a power hungry dictator (paraphrased), before asking him if he wants to be a hero.
Then, he provides what is apparently the archetypal example of heroism, something often associated with selflessness, kindness, and generally giving at least one singular solitary fuck about other people.
Theseus! Heroic hero who does heroic things, like, uhhh *checks notes* cheating on his wife, kidnapping children with plans to forcefully marry them, leaving people alone on tiny islands with no supplies, killing his kid, etc. etc...
So we’re off to a great start.
Then, he gives a short summary of Theseus’ life and times! He skips the first part of his life completely, which is hilarious to me because it’s the only time Theseus ever did anything actually heroic or selfless, and gets straight to the meat!
“Let me tell you a story, Tommy. A story of a man called Theseus. His country was in danger, he sent himself forward! Into enemy lines. He slayed the Minotaur! And saved his city. You know what they did to him, Tommy? They exiled him. He died in disgrace, despised by his people. That’s what happens to heroes, Tommy.”
-Technoblade
So first off, he doesn’t mention... really anything other than the Minotaur and the exile, which is leaving out a lot of relevant details, like why Theseus was exiled. (You know, killing his son in cold blood?)
Second, he doesn’t give details in general. Not that he should’ve given a full telling, or anything, but I’m always surprised by the shortness of this speech when I go back and listen to it. He pretty much just gives the barest bones of an argument and expects his audience to take it at face value. (Which they do, but it’s still bad practice)
From the more accurate (if still brief) summary if Theseus’ life I’ve just given, I’m sure you can see why this might be more than a bit dubious, as an analogy. Given cc!Technoblade is literally an English major, and doubtless knows significantly more about the myth than I do, I’d imagine this was never intended to be taken at face value.
Over and over again, c!Techno proves himself to be an unreliable narrator, and over and over again, the fandom at large takes his word as gospel.
-
Now, as far as a more in depth argument for Tommy as Theseus goes, I will attempt to debunk that as well, because there are some genuinely good points to be made.
First of all, most people make Dream out to be the Minotaur. Given the time this speech was made, I imagine Schlatt was the intended target of that, but with latter events in mind, Dream does make much more sense.
I’d say this is honestly pretty fair, but I don’t think Tommy takes the role of Theseus in that narrative. I’d argue he’s much more analogous to the role of Ariadne, giving the tools required to defeat Dream but ultimately not doing so through his own power, but because someone chose to take those tools and make use of them. This also provides the very interesting characterization of Punz as Theseus, which is an incredibly unique take that I hope some a Punz enthusiast does something with, because I don’t know enough about his lore to make a good analysis on that.
The idea of Schlatt as the Minotaur, as was probably intended by Techno at the time, makes much more sense, though I still think other characters fit the role better. Firstly, Schlatt wasn’t killed, he died of a heart attack, and if someone had killed him I think it’s more likely to have been Wilbur or Techno who did it than Tommy, as Tommy was still very hopeful and idealistic at the time, at least compared to his character now. You could posit Tommy as Ariadne again in this situation, given he was the one to mastermind the final charge, and though I think Tommy as Ariadne is an idea that’s worth further exploration, I’d say Fundy futs the Ariadne role here much better, with him giving the spy’s diary before being effectively shunned and left out in the cold by both Pogtopia and Manburg, much like Ariadne was abandoned in the original myth.
I’d posit the Theseus in this scenario as Techno, Wilbur, or possibly Philza, as they were the ones to actually kill things in the 16th, though Techno and Wilbur’s killings were more in the metaphorical sense, taking the second life of L’manburg.
As for the exile, Tommy exile was alike to that of Theseus only in concept. Both were sent from their kingdoms for a crime, resulting in a falling out with someone close to them, and had a precarious relationship with heights while they were gone, but that’s about where the similarities end and even then they’re superficial.
First of all, Tommy’s exile was far more because Dream was looking for an excuse to do it than because briefing actually means anything on the SMP, given how Dream had been griefing bases and blaming Tommy for it for a while before it went down. (Fun fact, Bad and Skeppy were going to burn one of his discs over this, but one of them got sick so they had to cancel the stream.)
Theseus’ exile, on the other hand, was entirely deserved, especially when you consider how serious a crime killing family was in Ancient Greek culture. It was pretty much the biggest no-no in existence, and I’m almost surprised he wasn’t just straight up executed for it.
Second, Tommy’s falling out with Tubbo was almost entirely due to outside forces, (Dream) rather than because anything Tommy had done. Though Tommy’s cavalierness towards the trial and attempts to threaten Dream with Spirit doubtless didn’t help things, Dream surrounding L’manburg in obsidian walls and threatening them to exile Tommy was entirely his own choice, and not something that can be pinned on Tommy, no matter what the apologists may say.
Meanwhile, Theseus’ falling out with Phaedra had begun long before his exile with him cheating on her. Him killing his son was merely the last in a long line of dominos to completely destroy their relationship.
Last, Tommy nearly killing himself is very different from Theseus being pushed off a cliff. Tommy’s near suicide was the direct result of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of c!Dream for what was canonically, I believe, several months? (Correct me if I’m wrong on that one.) Tommy almost jumping off a pillar because he was deliberately isolated from his support systems is nothing like Theseus being killed because he was a cocky asshole who thought he was god.
-
So that’s why I don’t think Tommy is anything like Theseus, and why I’m filled with endless rage by the completely uncritical acceptance of this parallel, but it’s not the whole reason it pisses me off.
It also pisses me off because, as stated earlier, cc!Techno is an English major. He knew what he was doing with this. The fandom’s insistence on refusing to acknowledge his character as an unreliable narrator is, in my opinion, acting as a massive kneecap to what could be a great analysis of how he thinks.
Specifically: why does c!Technoblade think Tommy is like Theseus?
Of all the Greek heroes to pick, why that one? Was it just the tantalizing opportunity to parallel Schlatt with a horned monster, or was it because c!Techno has some genuine in-character reason to think this myth specifically applies to Tommy.
Now, we all know people in the SMP have a habit of analogizing Wilbur and Tommy. The assumption Tommy wanted to be president, the belief that Tommy nominated Tubbo directly, the belief that he was intentionally deceiving Techno about Pogtopia’s intentions regarding Manburg... all of these stem from Wilbur. There are more cases of this, of course, but several analyses have been done in the subject already, and this is long enough without more padding.
So why does Techno think Tommy is Theseus? Well, it’s simple, isn’t it?
Wilbur is Theseus.
To be continued, because this is already too long and my brain hurts.

Venti and Diluc: Friendship HCs
Tumblr media
Hi elliechan! I’ve already written friendship hcs for Venti but I never want to leave anyone hanging (unless the dupe request is incredible specific and I can’t add onto it anymore) so think of it as a part 2. But if you haven’t seen Part 1 yet, I added a link.
Also, I would like to credit fulltimeventisimp for helping me out with this fic. My monkey brain couldn’t think of anything for Venti but they gave me literally a fics worth of content. PLEASE IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY, MAKE IT AN ACTUAL FIC! I LOVED IT! I tried my best to not piggy back too hard off it but if it does seem that way, let me know and I’ll definitely change it.
But thank you 💕💕💕

Venti and Diluc: Friendship HCs
Tumblr media
Venti
The first time you met the bard, it was when you were visiting Mondstadt as a small pit stop. He was sat on top of some wooden boxes, next to an apple vendor, singing a short ballad. You’ve never encountered bards throughout your journey and he did have a lovely singing voice so you decided to stay a bit and listen in. It felt like the wind itself was carrying his voice throughout the streets but you couldn’t help but feel a bit...melancholy from his tune. Was it homesickness? You clapped with the crowd when the bard finished and on a whim, you decided to buy him a small bag of apples. He seemed to like them as he only asked the apple vendor to gift him two for his efforts. When you paid your purchase the bard seemed to be in a deep conversation with the same vendor that you didn’t want to disturb them, after all you weren’t going to be in Mondstadt for long. So you placed the small bag of apples beside the bard’s lyre with a quick thank you note, a couple extra coins, and continued on your journey.
You didn’t expect that small act of kindness would lead to anything but when you were preparing for bed, the same bard popped his head outside your window and almost gave you a heart attack. This bard was lucky he didn’t catch you while you were changing your clothes or else things might have turned ugly. He wanted to thank you for your generous donation which you simply waved off explaining that throughout your journey, you never met anyone that could sing quite like him. A small token of appreciation. Perhaps it was because you fed his ego too much or other reasons but that seemed to peak the bards interest and ask about what other fascinating places you’ve been too. You talked about the horrible mountain you needed to climb through to reach Mondstadt, the shining electro lamps of Inazuma that would spark if you got too close, to the clear pools and lotus heads in Liyue.
“You’ve been around all over the place! Perhaps you would allow me to write a ballad of your conquests?”
“Hm? Is that so? Why don’t you come with me? Go outside the walls of Mondstadt and explore. So you can write your own ballad instead of others.”
“Is this another acting whim of yours?”
“Haha, perhaps.”
Unsurprisingly, you don’t see the bard the next day. It was probably a lot to suddenly ask a stranger to drop everything and come with you to unknown places. But you decided to stay in Mondstadt for a short while and see what the City of Freedom had to offer. From meeting the supposed gliding champion and learning a few pointers, to the mysterious Calvary Captain who you were sure was probably the shadiest person you’ve ever met, to the aloof red headed tavern owner. You weren’t much of a drinker but everyone in Mondstadt, especially the knights, seemed to really enjoy their wine and were incredibly friendly to strangers. On the night you were planning to leave Mondstadt, the rowdy knights you’ve became friends with decided to celebrate and urge you to drink to your hearts content (please drink responsibly haha). You must have been a bit tipsy when you met the bard for a second time, introducing himself properly as Venti. You could blame it on the alcohol when you suddenly challenged him to a drinking contest but it was the most fun you had in a while. You were pretty sure everyone got kicked out but as you leaned against Venti absolutely hammered, laughing about the silliest things, it was the most freeing feeling you’ve ever felt.
From then on, even after you had left the City of Freedom, you could would randomly see Venti pop up sometimes. Should it be at Starsnatch Cliff or all the way in Wolvendom, you would see a few fluffy feathers appear as the bar- Venti announced his arrival. You were pretty sure Venti was bored whenever he visited you to see what you were up to but you didn’t mind. His liveliness nature was addicting and you were an easy going person. Though, some of the jokes he made, made you a bit suspicious of him. Whenever he would say that Andrius was secretly a grumpy mother hen or that Dvalin was actually a shy sweetheart.
“You sure do know a lot about Mondstadt. You sure you’re just a bard Venti?”
“Hmm, well it shouldn’t hurt to tell you. I am Barbatos. The Anemo Archon of Mondstadt. Pleasure to make your acquaintance..-again.”
“I see...and yet you still get ID checked?”
“Rude!”
Outside of Mondstadt, Venti is a whirlwind of emotions. Always wanting to see what’s changed or linking your hands and dragging you off to some far off chest he found. How did his small body have so much strength to nearly pop your arm out? He did come in handy during your Liyue expeditions since he can give you a small boost to just reach the top of that cliff. You thought violet grass was bad, it should be illegal for Qingxin flowers to grow on the very top of mountains. Venti thinks it’s really sweet that you put so much faith in his winds to let yourself fly when he uses his elemental skill. Though, it’s a bit of a double edged sword. When you finally reach the very top and you’re waiting for Venti to join you, he might pretend to loose control and throw himself off the cliff. You sometimes forget he’s literally the anemo archon and you’re ready to go gliding after him before he pops up in front of you to give you another scare. While he’s laughing, you’re already planning how to sneak slime condensate into his hat.
“You should have seen your face! I didn’t know you could scream like that! Liyue must think a banshee is haunting their mountains again!”
“Watch yourself gremlin, you might wake up without hands tomorrow.”
“Haha, you wouldn’t do that...right? How would you even do that? Why aren’t you saying anything?!”
“Isn’t there a saying in Liyue Venti? You can’t run from your debts? Prepare yourself.”
For as child-like Venti appears, you both end up getting into a bit of trouble when Venti get’s a bit too bold. While it’s incredibly refreshing to see someone speak their mind regardless of the consequences, you actually kind of admire him for that, usually the boldness comes from trying to bribe the bartender for free drinks. Your poor wallet is crying out every time Venti spots a new tavern. While he say’s he will pay you back or he’ll pay you back in a song, you can’t actually eat his words. But on other occasions you can’t help but join in when it happens to be one of the Fatui guards giving you both a hard time. You feel like you’re acting out a Shakespearian play with all the flowery nonsense and metaphors you’re both spitting out.
When you’re both in the thick of a forest or even on top of Liyue’s mountain, Venti will bring his lyre out and strum his strings softly as you both fall into a comfortable silence. Looking at the sunset or relaxing under the trees as the sun peaks through as you both live in the moment. It’s these times that you’re harshly reminded that Venti is an archon as he slips out of his persona and speaks as Barbatos. He tells you how fun your adventures have been, that he was glad to have made friends with you, speaking as if you’re about to die tomorrow. You’re not sure how to handle it, what kind of burden Venti is carrying, but you immediately drop everything and comfort him. Giving him a strong but warm hug that you’re still here and he’s not alone right now.
“Come on, I’m still waiting for the Ballad of Venti. You haven’t given up on that right?”
“Hmph, of course not. Every being deserves a name to be called upon, and woven into a song.”

Diluc
It was a peaceful day, one Diluc hadn’t felt in a long time in his hectic life. Though it was a bit too early to determine how the day would go since it was still noon. The tavern would soon get loud as it approached night but for now. Everything was peaceful. The sounds of Monstadt streets bustling. The peaceful atmosphere as the sun shone through the windows. Working on mundane tasks of wiping the counter down. No Kaeya in sight. A small moment of peace. All broken when his door was kicked nearly off its hinges as you announced your return from your shopping trip as if you had returned after a 3 year long journey. Diluc sighs under his breath, takes a moment to pray he doesn’t need to repair his door again, and helps you with your bags as you ramble about your day.
To others, it’s always seems a bit weird when they catch Diluc and you chatting since Diluc always gives off the lone wolf persona and yet you’re this ball of sunshine. Maybe it’s because you knew Diluc when he was a child, back when he was still bright-eyed, that you never treated him any differently when he came back. Diluc never really talks about it but he’s happy that you’re still the same and he can let himself relax with you. He still keeps his silent demeanor as he listens to you talk about anything and everything, it helps keeps his mind occupied, but he might add a few comments here and there. Just to let you know he’s still listening.
You know what sounds really hot? Sitting in the same room with someone while you both do your own respective thing. You both don’t feel forced to talk to each other just because you’re in the same room or you have to do everything together just because you’re together. It’s an easy atmosphere that settles as Diluc works on business papers and you’re planning your next expeditions. Until you end collapsing on his couch because your brain processing has suffered enough and it’s time to take a nap. You always end up dragging him out of his work to go outside and take a nice doze in the sun.
If you ever have a problem, he won’t necessarily coddle you unless it really bothers you or you’re in a situation where it could hurt you, but he’ll do everything to help you work through it. You’re his friend and if someone is giving you a hard time then he has no problem chasing them away, especially if its a Fatui member. If it happens to be Kaeya, well that’s an entirely different story. Likewise, if it appears to you that Diluc is going through a rough time you’ll try and comfort him. Do small little things to let him know that you care and while he doesn’t need to tell you what’s wrong, you’re here to support him.
Diluc enjoys playing chess against you, even if he wins most of the time, you’re always so determined that he can’t help but laugh along with your over reactions. Presenting him an entire 20 page paper on chess and yet getting checkmated in 10 turns. You’re 95% sure all the chess strategies he offered were all fake, if his smug grin is anything to go by. You both have agreed to never play darts together, well more specifically, you’re pretty sure you’re banned from playing darts when you almost hit Adelinde. That was the first time you ever genuinely feared for your life.
Whenever Diluc has to attend a gala or has to host a party to further his business, he’s always appreciative when you show up. You’re not exactly apart of royalty or even a business owner but it’s so refreshing to Diluc, after spending so much time keeping a polite attitude and trying to talk business, when he can come to you as you laugh about how one lady almost tripped because her dress was too long. Sometimes he’ll lean a bit on you or pretend to be in a conversation just so he can recharge.
More often then not, you’re mistaken to be Diluc partner even though the idea of holding Diluc’s hand makes you want to throw up. But when Diluc get’s random father’s trying to offer their daughter’s hands in marriage, he’ll pull the excuse he’s already with someone if they can’t no for an answer. It’s always funny to you, linking arms with Diluc and re-telling the grandiose story about how Diluc saved you from falling off a cliff when you were both younger and you were both star-crossed lovers that were destined to be together. Or something like that, you’re pretty sure you’ve changed the story enough times that you can’t keep track. But it seems to work and as soon as they are out of ear’s reach you make a quick gagging motion. He shoves you a bit to which you elbow him in the side. Old habits die hard.
---
I swear, I could probably recite character stories word for word at this point. Gripping my writing hand don’t make it angsty, don’t make it angsty, don’t fucking do it. But I still did, whoops.
I feel like my fics are really long so I’ll add a read more tag. Mmm writing styles are hard. I don’t know if I like this;; I ended up writing so much to try and combine my “hcs are just another word for fics just without the dialogue” and “actual headcanons” styles. Ahh, well whatever. I have to go speedrun my assignments since genshin is going to eat all my time this week.

--
now playing – trauma (aquarium) by ONEWE
this place has been transformed into something unknown i’m trapped alone in an aquarium
You could see the ending.
At first it was the little things. He held your hand a little less, stood a little further from you when you two walked side by side. Stared at his phone a lot.  Didn’t share his snacks as often. Spent all his time on his computer, streaming video games for longer and longer hours.
You had nothing to say. It was his job, after all.
You made his meals, washed his dishes. Changed his water bottles, gave him a kiss for the camera. Felt a little part of you die inside each time you went to bed alone, only to hear him slip under the blankets, hours after you. You went to work for longer and longer hours. There was no reason to go home. He ordered take-out for dinner every night.
Being Jeon Jungkook’s girlfriend was supposed to be fun.
And it was fun, at first. At first, he spent all this time with you. At first, he was always with you, by your side. He only streamed a little back then. It was a slow, gradual growth, and, like all parasites, it took over every aspect of your life. From your nights, to your days, to your time – making meals, cleaning up after him, doing all the laundry.
You could tolerate it. He made a lot of money. He was having fun. He was smiling. You would do anything for Jeon Jungkook. He dragged you into his sea and you swam in it happily. Until you realized you were stuck and alone, glass walls all around you, keeping you away from him. Seeing him, and yet not being able to touch him, kept away from his heart.
Caught in an aquarium.
He would give you kisses and tell you he wanted to get married.
He would say he loved you, but it was all a lie.
You weren’t in his Instagram photos. You weren’t part of his Twitter bio anymore. You weren’t listed in his phone with a little purple heart next to your name. Even that, you wouldn’t mind. He told you he didn’t want you to get harassed by trolls. He told you that he wasn’t ashamed of you, that you were the most beautiful woman in the world.
But.
Then again.
He told every girl in his DMs that.
You stared at them that faithful night, unable to sleep, reading them all. Jungkook was asleep beside you, snoring away, and you read every single one. The WhatsApp messages were worse. They were so much worse. More sexual, detailing what he wanted to do to other people. Not you. Not you, the love of his life. Not you, the one by his side.
You knew how to backtrack and retrace your steps. Make it seem like you were never there. Placed his phone on his side of the bed and went to sleep. He held you that night. Turned around in his sleep and wrapped his arms around you.
Inside, you drowned.
When he told you that he was going to a gaming convention, he was very excited. Grinning his beautiful grin, snacking on shrimp chips as you washed the dishes. It was only the weekend, only two days. He wasn’t going to go for the Friday or Monday, so he could spend time with you.
“I would totally invite you, but you said you have to work that weekend.”
You said apologetically. “I know. I’m sorry. But I have to be there for my co-workers.”
He frowned and nudged you. “You work too much. You know you don’t have to. We can just live off my streaming money. I can buy you nice things.”
“I would feel bad for leaving them. I’ve worked at that office for seven years.”
He smirked, elbowing you a little. “Cheating on me with all the cute guys?”
You carefully wiped down the glass, placing it back in the cabinet, smile plastered to your face.
“No guy is cuter than you, Jungkook.”
That was the weekend you left.
You went to work, confirmed your month-long vacation of all the hours you’ve collected over the years, and packed every belonging you owned in that apartment. To be honest, there wasn’t very much. Anything Jungkook had ever bought you, you left behind.
There was no reason to hold onto it.
For a long moment, you stared at the photos, the stack of photos of you and him. Your smile, his smile, the places you’ve been, the things you’ve seen with him. Then you placed them on the bed, scattering them, spreading them all over the blankets.
You left it like that.
-
You went to the ocean.
You dropped the boxes at a storage unit in the city. Took only a carry-on bag of clothes and took a train to the coast. You left your phone in the storage unit too, telling your parents you were going on vacation to the sea. Didn’t say where, only mentioned you wanted to unplug, unwind, disconnect.
Disconnect.
The cottage you rented was cared for by a nice young man with dark brown hair and tan skin. He said it was his parents’ and that he was renting it out for them. If you needed anything, you could contact him and he wouldn’t hesitate to help. He had a bright, boxy smile and a cheerful tone. You thanked him for being so considerate.
You sat on the edge of the cliff, legs dangling over the side.
Your pink flats were right beside you, and your arms were resting on the wooden fence. The ocean breeze was strong here, salty and cold. You were in a long-sleeved white dress that was going to get dirt and grass stains on it, but that sort of thing didn’t matter now.
Clothes could be replaced.
The garden rock in your hand spun round and round, dancing between your deft fingers. Your left hand. The hand that held his when you two walked side by side, fitting in his right covered in small tattoos. He had a king’s crown tattoo on his ring finger and asked you if you would get a queen’s crown tattoo someday. It didn’t have to be on your hand. Anywhere was fine.
You looked at your left hand then, the hand that was holding his, and then it didn’t.
And then it didn’t.
You stared down into the crashing waves and jagged rocks under you. It was cold here. How far down was that? White forth slammed against eroding stone. Even mountains weren’t forever. Even something as solid as rock could be ground down into nothing with water.
Your eyes shifted to the shimmering sea, the endless blue, sun reflecting harshly off it. It didn’t matter how beautiful the water was or how many extraordinary creatures were under the surface. The deep sea hid all the worst creatures, all the terrible monsters. Not even science could go that far and discover all those horrors.
You pulled your arm back and threw the rock as far as you could. You couldn’t even see where it landed. The seawater was too rough and wild.
“Why would you throw my garden stone into the ocean?”
You started, turning around sharply to the heavy, baritone voice of your landlord. He was wearing a white sunhat, a beige shirt and pants, clutching a pair of dirty and worn brown gardening gloves. He frowned at you, staring into the ocean.
“What did my rock ever do to you?”
You looked back to the choppy waves and then faced him again, ashamed.
“Well, come. You will have to help with the garden to repay for that. I’m harvesting winter squash.”
-
“You can cook.”
You nodded to Kim Taehyung, the young man who was caring for the sea cottage. He was tasting some of your winter squash and fresh bamboo combination after he asked if you could do something with the two. You had added garlic, ginger, and made a light white sauce as you sautéed it all together.
“I got this bamboo from a friend who lives in the mountains. I can’t cook very well though. Can you?”
You two ate in steady silence, listening to the sounds of nature and waves crashing into shore. He had made rice while you cooked the vegetables.
“The only thing I can make, really,” he had chuckled.
You chewed, listening to Taehyung mix the leftover sauce with the rice and slurp it up.
“The world is quiet here,” you said softly.
He nodded; mouth full. His brown eyes shifted to the overhanging cliff as he swallowed.
“It is.”
-
You tended the garden with him.
You hadn’t even realized all the greenery around the cottage was a giant garden. To you, they were just pretty plants. Taehyung taught you all about the plants, which ones he was growing, which ones the season was already over, which ones he was trying to grow next season. Some were flower bushes he was trying to learn, but you learned that they were finnicky and not as hardy as the vegetables.
“I don’t even like vegetables that much,” he laughed, rich, full, heedless. “But they’re easy to care for, so they make me the happiest.”
He had tried fruits, but the wild animals always got to them despite his best efforts.
“I must share with nature, I suppose.”
Sometimes, you missed the internet. You missed the distractions, the games you played, the ability to like random thoughts on someone’s Twitter. In those times, you would stare at the never-ending blue ocean and then Taehyung would tap you with the rake and tell you that you needed to help him loosen the soil.
“We need all of nature’s nutrients.”
-
You stared out to the blue ocean, wearing a large straw hat and a navy dress. You weren’t at the cliff this time, but farther back. The breeze was softer at this moment. Taehyung had given you the hat a while ago, telling you it was better than the white scarf you wore around your hair. It did provide better sun protection for your face.
The cobalt sea was violent today, sky grey and dark. Taehyung told you it might rain, so the garden could be skipped today.
You held your hat and looked up.
“Me too, sky. Me too,” you murmured quietly.
You wondered when the feeling would disappear. It would probably be gradual, silently vanishing as each day was replaced, memories fading into the vast abyss of thoughts, mixing with fantasy so that you wouldn’t be able to know the difference between what was real and what was fake. That’s why eyewitness accounts were never trustworthy.
That’s how all memories were.
You let go of your hat for only a second. It flew off your head and you spun around, surprised at the strong ocean breeze.
Taehyung caught it with one hand, standing a few meters behind you.
Your lips parted at how easily he was able to catch it. He was wearing a yellow raincoat and brown pants with his usual brown gardening boots. He smiled, walking up to you and putting the straw hat back on your head.
“I warned you that you might lose it if you stand too close to the ocean.”
You hand came up and brushed against his fingers as he retreated his. He looked away quickly, into the stormy blue sea threatened by grey clouds.
“What have you lost to be looking so sad?” Taehyung asked gently.
You followed his gaze.
“Memories.” The water churned, smacking against the cliffside. “A whole book of them.”
“What do you mean?”
You turned back to Taehyung, who was now watching you curiously. You held onto your straw hat, not wanting it to blow away again.
“I left all the photos, so I wouldn’t have to see them again.” You sighed. “Pictures of moments, years etched out visually. I was going to make a memories photo book when we got married.”
You looked back to the ocean, seeing the sky darken ever more.
“And now we won’t.”
There was a loud clap of thunder. Your eyes searched for the lightning.
And then your name, shouted across the grass, harsh and angry like the thunder.
At first, you didn’t hear it. You were distracted by the sky, waiting for the rain. But Taehyung snapped his head around, startled. You noticed his movement and turned around too. A figure in black jumped over the fence, yelling your name on the top of his lungs.
The glass walls came up inside you, trying to protect you from the stumbling, turbulent sea that was Jeon Jungkook.
Taehyung frowned. “Who the fuck is that?”
“Who the fuck are you?” Jungkook spat, glaring at him and his yellow raincoat. He called you again, sharply, stomping over. “Do you have any idea how worried I was? When I came home from the convention and you were just gone? No note, nothing, only to find you running off with some random guy!”
The thunder sounded again, but there was no lightning yet.
“I called everyone! Your work, your friends, your family, your phone! You wouldn’t even answer your fucking phone. I had to find out from your work that you were on vacation,” Jungkook hissed, glaring at you. “Vacation from our relationship that is, fucking cheating on me.”
Taehyung glared back. “Dude, it’s not like that at all. I’m just the landlord of the cottage she rented–”
“Shut up. I’m not talking to you.”
You stared at Jungkook, his dark brows and wild black hair, so angry at you that he was cursing. The irony was not lost on you. You held onto the straw hat.
“Is that all it was?” you said quietly. “You were upset that I would find affection in someone else?”
“Of course, I was! You’re the love of my life!”
You smiled gently. “Is that what you tell them all?” Your navy dress fluttered in the harsh ocean breeze.
Jungkook scowled. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
You looked down to your pink flats, dirty and grass-stained now from running around the cottage garden. Taehyung had teased you, telling you they weren’t good gardening shoes, but you hadn’t brought any other shoes with you. Everything else Jungkook had bought you, with his money.
“Even now, you pretend, Jungkook.” Your hair tangled in the wind, salty and tousled from the sea. You looked back up at him and his expression was changing now. “I remember asking you once, should you comment like that on other people’s Instagram posts?” The thunder was louder now, sky ripping apart with flashing light. “You said, everyone is like that. It’s part of the business.” The color was draining out of Jungkook’s face. “Were the DMs only for show too? What about the WhatsApp messages? The things you wanted to do to them? The ones you wanted to shove your dick into?”
“That’s fucked up,” Taehyung muttered next to you.
“That… That wasn’t…” Jungkook struggled for words. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
You nodded. You felt it first, the fat drop on the hand holding your hat.
“I know you didn’t. Everything was for fun. Everything.”
Smile plastered to your face, because what could you do now?
“Even me. Even I was for fun.”
You inhaled a deep breath. You had cried for many nights when you crawled into that unfamiliar bed upstairs. For hours, long after Taehyung was gone. Drowning in your own endless sea, filling your glass aquarium. Cried yourself out, and now you let the sea cry for you when you watched it every day, while you worked on the garden with Taehyung.
The rain began to fall.
You looked back to Jungkook, torn, guilty, exposed.
“You should come in and wait for the rain to subside before going home. Your viewers will miss you.”
Taehyung pulled his hood over his head. “Do you want me to stay?” he asked you, voice sharp. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”
The way he said it implied in more ways than just physical pain. But it was a little late for that.
“I think I will be okay, Taehyung,” you said, water seeping through your hat, rain drenching your dress., turning you into a soaked doll. “Nature has taught me to keep growing.”
He bit his lip, still frowning, but bowed. “Alright.”
And then you watched him go, back to his car, hurrying along. You went in the opposite direction, to the cottage. You had one more week in your hideaway. Rainwater seeped into your flats as you stepped into the grass, soaking your feet. But somehow, it was nice. It was nice to feel the sky cry on you, because then you didn’t have to. You made your way to the covered porch, wringing out your dress the best you could. Took off your hat, opened the door.
Heard heavy black boots in your wake.
“You… left all the pictures.”
The choked, sorrowful voice of Jeon Jungkook behind you.
“I did.”
You stepped inside the cottage. Placed your hat on the hook, dripping wet. Stepped out of your drenched pink flats. Didn’t wait for him. Just went upstairs to the bathroom, trailing rainwater, locking the door behind you. You turned on the water, plugging the drain. Ran a bath and sank into your own hot aquarium.
You heard the heavy fall against the door. Your name, softly spoken through the door.
“I’m sorry.”
You sank further into the water.
“No apology will ever fix what you have done to me.”
The water was cloudy and milky with whatever bath salts Taehyung had provided with the other personal goods.
“I can prove it to you.”
You felt the tears come now, the anger, the sadness. You submerged your head underwater, blocking out all the sound, blocking out your own thoughts. Your hair floated around you, washing out the salt of the blue sea. You waited, waited until your lungs screamed, and still you waited until your vision was fading to grey before you resurfaced, taking a shuddering breath, surprisingly calm.
“The trauma has already spread, Jungkook.”
You heard a slight sob at the tone you used to say his name, cold and unfeeling.
“I really didn’t mean it, I swear.”
You took a deep breath and dove into your man-made aquarium once again.

to reach a happy ending

Tumblr media
"Ew, look at this." You hand the dusty old photo album to Beomgyu who's sprawled across the floor by your side.
"Wait—" He stops you, rolling away before letting out a sneeze so loud that it managed to echo off the dusty untouched walls of his old room. The poor guy couldn't help it, his room hadn't been cleaned since he moved out in the middle of high school, and his mom preferred to keep things as they were— dust and all. You wonder if it was simply an excuse to clean one less room.
Beomgyu did say he had dropped in yesterday without notice. You'd think he'd want to spend some quality time with his parents first, but he'd decided to invite you over after spending a single night under this roof. Having heard nothing but radio silence from your best friend in years, you were thrilled to get to see him again. And what better way to shed off the ever present awkwardness in the beginning than to go through old photo albums?
"Okay, show me." Beomgyu rolls back to your side, scooting in closer to rest his head on your lap.
You turn the photo album, pointing at one photo in particular of you and Beomgyu dressed as a knight and damsel in distress— Beomgyu playing the role of the latter. Contrary to the roles, you were pummeling Beomgyu to the ground as if having caught a thief, and Beomgyu was shoving his handkerchief to your face, blocking your eyesight. The context behind the photograph alludes you, but this might just be a case of seven-year-olds doing whatever they want whenever.
"The fuck you mean ew? I look great in that dress!" Frowning, Beomgyu grabs the album to stare longer at his past self's glory.
"Lying to yourself isn't good for you, Gyu." You jokingly disapprove. It was fun seeing his reactions right after.
"Oh, look at these."
Beomgyu points at a photo of you and him on stage, wearing the same costumes as before. You figured it was for a play back in first grade when you two had been classmates. The next series of photos included one of you holding out a sword towards a kid in a cheap dragon costume, one of Beomgyu holding back his tears after tripping over and ripping his dress, and ones of you rushing to Beomgyu and kissing away his tears.
"This takes me back." Beomgyu lights up with a smile, failing to notice the surprise on your face. "Remember when your mom made us believe that kissing any injuries we had would make it go away? I knew you wanted to help me back then but I couldn't stop crying and tell you were it hurt, so you started kissing all over my face hoping it'd go away."
You find yourself laughing at your past self's foolishness. "But did it work?" You ask in between laughs.
"Well," Beomgyu chuckles, getting up from his position on your lap. "I don't think it would've worked if another person had done it. But since it was you— Wait." He takes one last look at the album, letting slip a wheeze before placing it back in its box. "Mom wrote something right below the photo."
"What did she write?" You ask, holding out your hands for Beomgyu to grab.
"A fairy tale with a happy ending always brings a smile to my face." Beomgyu tells you as he helps you up, trying his best to keep a straight face after delivering that line.
The two of you burst into laughter at his mother's words. You knew she'd been fond of fairy tales all her life but the caption was taking you out. Beomgyu was literally crying in the photo yet somehow this, to her, was a happy ending.
You eventually take notice of all the photos plastered around his room, some framed, and some simply stuck to the walls— memories of happier times. Most were of you and him, and in some, just you. He'd shown off the Polaroid camera his mother bought for him in seventh grade, proclaiming he'd only take photos of moments he'd want to keep in his memory forever. It never actually crossed your mind that a lot of them would be of you.
Beomgyu notices your wandering eyes and chuckles, placing an arm around your shoulder. The distance between you shrinks as he holds you closer. And at that moment, you take note of everything that's changed.
He'd gotten taller since the last time you saw him. Gone was the lanky boy you knew, evident in the way his muscles flexed with every small movement you wish you hadn't noticed. Beomgyu had grown his hair out; the thick, wavy locks tucked behind his ears, covering the back of his neck. The deepness of his voice had been a surprise when he greeted you at the door earlier, but you held back from pointing it out.
You feared that if you acknowledged all the changes, you'd be forced to face reality. That things weren't the same anymore, no matter how hard you tried. After all, Beomgyu wasn't the only one who changed. You had quite the few character development arcs yourself, and experiences which Beomgyu remained oblivious of. And somehow despite that, in his presence, you started to feel like your old self again.
Beomgyu's invitation had come as a surprise last night. You thought he'd forgotten about you, what with all the silence these past few years.
Life continued on as it should even without Beomgyu by your side, but you could argue that all the amazing experiences you've had on your own would've been better if he were there to experience it with you. And now here you were in his old room, pretending everything was the same as he'd left it.
You look up at your old friend, wanting to tell him what had been plaguing your thoughts the entire day but find yourself tongue tied when his dark eyes stare back into your own. And you wonder, how many times had it been that you'd stared into each other's eyes just like this? How many times had he pulled you close into his arms all those years? And just how many nights had you spent wondering if your feelings for him had grown into something more?
"I missed you." Beomgyu speaks first, his gaze never faltering.
Hearing his voice, you swear you could've melted right then and there. Part of you had wished he'd tell you those exact words, confirming that it hadn't been just you who'd been wanting to see him all these years.
"I missed you too."
Beomgyu could only smile at your response.
His arm leaves your shoulder— hands slowly finding their way to your own. His hold was gentle as he slowly guided you to face him.
"Don't laugh, but," Beomgyu starts. "Do you believe in love at first sight?"
"Love at fir—"
The question throws you off.
"What?"
"I heard you the first time!" You cut him off, wanting so bad to cover your face from the secondhand embarrassment. "I can't believe you just said that. What even happened to you in college?"
"Hey! At least hear me out before you make fun of me." Beomgyu bursts out laughing at your reaction, his thumbs caressing the back of your hands to help you calm down. "Judging from your reaction, I'm guessing your answer is a no. And I honestly felt the same too until a few hours back."
"Okay, you lost me there."
"Shut up. What I'm saying is," Beomgyu squeezes your hands, leaning in closer. "I'm sorry I haven't been in touch the last few years. I had a lot of trouble adjusting, and it took a while for me to really get the hang of living alone. I wanted to talk to you as soon as I got there but then I thought that maybe it would've been better for you if I left you to live your own life for a while too."
"Beomgyu.." You squeeze his hands back, sensing the sincerity in his eyes.
Beomgyu shakes his head. "I know this sounds silly and all, but I didn't want you to feel the emptiness I felt when I left. I wanted you to go and make experiences of your own without me."
You frown, refraining to speak until he's done.
"But then I couldn't stop thinking about you. Everywhere I went, I'd think of you and how the place would've been better if we got to hang out there together. Every time I had fun or ate something that tasted good, I wanted you to share the experience with me."
Beomgyu sighs. "Honestly, I thought I could make it through my visit home without seeing you but I passed by your house on my way home yesterday and I just.. I couldn't hold back. And when I saw you for the first time in years at the front of my doorstep.. I knew I had to tell you."
Half of you knew what to expect, and the other half doubted the reality of the situation. But all the doubts instantly melt away as soon as Beomgyu closed the distance between you, pressing your foreheads together.
Face flushed, you stare at him in awe and notice he had his eyes closed shut. "Cute." You thought.
He whispers in a voice so quiet you could barely hear.
"I like you."
You couldn't hold it in any longer, the rush of emotions crashing into you like raging waves against a cliff. The next moment, you find yourself inching closer and closer, face heating up even more as you press your lips against his as a reply.
Beomgyu's eyes widen, body freezing in place. He hadn't exactly expected you to respond so soon, especially not like this. And he couldn't be happier.
You feel Beomgyu returning the kiss, his hands going up to cup your face— his hold gentle. The two of you wanted nothing more than to stay in this moment for as long as life permits, because for once, you could finally see the path to your happily ever after slowly unraveling.
This was just the beginning.

Love and Medicine ~ 6
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
< previous chapter
Word Count: 3,710ish
Summary: Val throws a party. You remember the date.
Warning: talk of sex / I do not own Marvel or Grey’s Anatomy.
The morning came and you laid in your bed, staring at the ceiling. You really wanted to go meet Steve for breakfast, but you knew you probably shouldn’t. With a heavy sigh, you turned over to look at your bedside clock. There was 30 minutes until it was time to meet Steve. You could make it in time, if you went. You also had the day off so if you didn’t go, you wouldn’t run in to Steve today anyway.
After another five minutes of debating, you heaved yourself up and hurried into your bathroom. You got ready quickly, not going too overboard with trying to impress him. As you ran down the stairs, you shoved Clint out of the way.
“Woah!” He exclaimed. “What’s the rush?”
“Sorry, Clint!” You replied, not stopping. “I gotta go!”
When you finally got to the cafe, you were a few minutes late and Steve was already at an outside table. You noticed that he looked a little nervous. He was sketching in a notebook, knee bouncing under the table.
“Is this seat taken?” You asked, having walked quietly up to the table.
Steve’s head snapped up. He looked a little surprised and relieved to see you standing there. “Uh, no,” he smiled. He motioned to the seat across from him. “Be my guest.”
“Thank you,” you pulled out your chair and sat down. He handed you the menu. You took it before looking at the notebook on the table. There was a sketch of you on the open page. “Wow. Did you draw that?”
Steve quickly shut the book and set it in his lap. “You weren’t suppose to see that. Not yet, anyway.”
“Well, it was really good.”
“Thank you.”
“Why didn’t you go into art?”
“Doesn’t pay the bills. Plus, brains are more fun.”
You laughed. “I guess so.”
The two of you order food and sat there for a few hours talking. It was mostly him asking about you and you telling him extremely long stories. You had just finished one about you and your parents that left him laughing.
“You’re parents sound amazing,” Steve said, finishing off his laugh. “I would love to meet them some day.”
You stopped, immediately looking sad. Just the thought of your parents caused you to remember something. The date. It would be the first anniversary of their deaths in two days.
“Y/N?” Steve broke you out of your trace. You looked at him, a furrowed brow and worried eyes. “Are you okay?”
“I… I should go,” you stood, scraping your chair against the ground as you did. Steve quickly stood up as well, surprised at your sudden need to leave. “I really need to go.”
You hurried out of the cafe’s fenced on section. You didn’t make it much farther before Steve’s large hand was around your bicep, stopping you.
“You’re surprising fast,” he tried to joke. You clearly weren’t having it. “What’s the rush?” He tried to study your eyes, they looked pained. “What’s wrong?”
“I’ll see you at work, Steve. Please.” You tugged away from him. “I have to go.”
He stood there, watching, as you hurried off to your car and drove into traffic.
~~~
You went straight to the hospital, willingly taking someone’s shift to get your mind off everything. You did not want to remember it and you definitely didn’t want to drown yourself in grief. You were going to work it off.
By the time your intern friends got to the hospital, you had been there for 20 hours. You ate and caught sleep when you could but it was never very much. Valkyrie immediately came up to you and told you about a party she wanted to throw for her girlfriend that was coming into town. You agreed to it, absentmindedly since you were so tired, on the condition that it wouldn’t be very big.
Before you knew it, the day of the anniversary arrived, and you were doing everything possible to avoid thinking about it. Thankfully, you hadn’t seen Steve since you hurried away. You really didn’t want to explain it all to him. It was early morning when Dr. Banner pulled you into a surgery. You were holding the heart as he worked, with your fellow interns watching from the gallery.
“I wish I could hold a heart,” Scott whined.
“A monkey could hold a heart,” Natasha responded.
“You’re just mad that Banner didn’t ask you.”
“Has anyone noticed that Y/N’s been acting strange lately?” Clint asked, eyes trained on you below. “Like, more than usual.”
“I haven’t,” Natasha shrugged.
“She’s probably just having a bad day,” Scott said.
“Clint!” Val came into the gallery. “I need more ice and chips.”
“Who else did you invite, Val?” He asked.
“Val, we said the list was jocks only. Surgery, Trauma, Plastics.”
“I invited a few of the people from Peds.”
“Great!” Natasha scoffed. “You invited the kindergarteners to Y/N’s place. The next thing you’ll say is that you invited the shrinks.” Val winced. “You invited the mental defects? This party’s going to suck.”
“You know that Y/N thinks this is just going to be a little, small, meet-your-girlfriend cocktail thing, right?” Clint questioned.
“Yes. I’ll tell her the change in plans though. I promise.”
“Why are you wasting the only weekend your girlfriend is in town on a big party?” Natasha asked. “Is she bad in bed?”
“No,” Val chuckled. “I just want her to meet some of my friends.”
“Right. Sixty some odd geeks in scrubs are your friends.” Her pager went off, causing her to look at it and get up to leave. “Bad sex, sucks for you.”
“Did I hear correctly that there’s a party at Y/N’s house tonight?” Peter asked, leaning against the doorway.
“Oh really, a party?” Natasha responded, playing down.
“Uh, news to me,” Scott added.
“Yeah, no party,” Clint said.
~~~
The surgery was long, but amazing. Though it still didn’t help get your mind off the day.
“Hey,” Steve greeted, coming up beside you as you headed to the elevator. “I heard you did a CABG with Banner.”
“Yeah,” you responded.
“Did you get to hold the heart?”
“Yeah.”
“It’s an amazing feeling. You never forget your first time.”
“It was pretty great just to watch,” Clint said, sliding in between the two of you. “Vicarious thrills, you know?”
“Yeah,” you replied again, too caught up in your mind to do anything else.
The elevator dinged and you and Clint walked on. You turned around to see Steve, still standing outside the elevator, looking concerned.
“I’ll see you later,” he commented, the furrow of his brow never changing.
“Bye,” you responded as the doors shut. Clint was leaning back against the wall, watching you. It was eerily silent until you finally spoke. “My parents died a year ago today,” it was a whisper.
“What?” Clint stood up straight, coming towards you. “How—“
“They were driving in a canyon. The road was icy…. Dad lost control of the car… it dove off the cliff.”
“Oh my goodness. Y/N, I am so sorry.”
“I’ve never told anyone what happened before.” A single tear slipped down your cheek. “My parents… they were famous surgeons. I… I changed my last name after they died.”
“Y/N, who were they?” The elevator doors opened.
“I’ve got to go.”
You rushed out, quickly disappearing in the crowd of doctors and nurses before Clint could follow you. You weren’t watching were you were going, in search for an on call room to break in. You rammed into someone, stumbling back. The person’s hands quickly landed on your biceps, holding you steady.
“Woah there,” Dr. Stark chuckled. “What’s the rush?”
You looked up, teary eyed and embarrassed. “I’m so sorry, Dr. Stark,” you rushed out. “Let me just—“
“Now, hold on a damn minute.” He got a good look at your face, there was clearly something wrong. “What’s going on?”
“Dr. Stark, I really don’t think—“
“Here.” He pulled you into an empty on call room. “Talk.”
“Dr. Stark, this isn’t appropriate.”
“Neither are the giant heart eyes my friend Steve has every time you walk by. You’re clearly upset, and I want to help. I was also friends with your parents.”
“What?”
“You’re parents are the reason I’m alive. I had an accident a few years back, shrapnel too close to my heart. They saved me. So, I owe it to them to watch over you.”
“You really don’t, Dr. Stark.”
“The name’s Tony.”
“Tony. You don’t owe me anything.”
“I know what today is. I’ve been dreading this day for a week now. I can only imagine how you must be feeling.” You looked up, trying to blink away the tears. “Did you change your name because of the accident?”
“I couldn’t stand the thought of living in my dead parents shadows… it was too much.”
“Understood… does Steve know?”
“No.”
“You should tell him.”
“I don’t want people to know.”
“Yeah, but Steve isn’t people, is he?” You didn’t answer so Tony sighed. “Look, I have no right to tell you who you tell or don’t tell. But… Steve’s a good person. He’s been through his far share of struggles. He’d be just willing to listen, if that’s all you wanted.”
“I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you, Tony.”
“Anytime.” He walked to the door, opening it to head out. “Oh and, by the way,” he turned to look at you, “I’m totally rooting for the two of you.”
~~~
Natasha was standing at a nurses station, filling out some paperwork, when a cup of coffee was set beside her. She glanced over to see Dr. Banner, sipping his own cup, looking back at her.
“Just coffee,” he said with a nervous smile.
Natasha looked confused. “Good,” she responded.
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
Bruce gave her a nod before walking away. Closing what she was doing, Natasha hesitated before picking up the coffee and drinking it. Unknown to her, Bruce and Tony were peeking around the corner and watching her. Hiding back behind the corner, they high fived.
“Look at what taking my advice can do, Bruce,” Tony exclaimed.
“Alright, alright,” Bruce agreed. “Maybe I should listen a little more often.”
“Damn right you should.”
“Dr. Stark,” Dr. Potts called, heading towards the nurses station. “Please watch your language around the patients.” She began filling out a chart.
“My deepest apologies, Dr. Potts. We were just celebrating victory.” She still did not look impressed. “You know what would be even more worth celebrating? You, finally accepting a date from me.”
“Okay,” she replied, not bothering to look up.
“You’ve given me that excuse before, and it hasn’t stopped me— wait… did you just agree?”
“I did.” She handed over the chart to the nurse before facing Tony. “I’m only free Friday night. Will that work?”
“Um… yeah…”
“Pick me up in the lobby at 7.” Then Pepper strutted away.
“Look at you go, Tony,” Bruce laughed, putting an arm over his friends shoulders. “She finally said yes.”
“Yeah, and I have 3 surgeries and a meeting with the chief Friday night.”
Bruce grimaced. “Well, you’ll either have to cancel everything or just wine and dine her over a boob job.”
“I’m definitely going to need it covered.”
~~~
After your talk with Tony, you focused on helping a few patients. You were getting a file from the nurses station to help your next one when Steve walked up to you.
“Are you okay?” He asked, still concerned.
“Yeah, yeah,” you responded. “I’m good.”
“Are you sure? Cause you seem not okay.”
“I’m fine. The CABG was just long.”
“Well, let me take you out to dinner tonight. You can tell me all about it. Real food, waiters, big chunks of carbs in a basket.”
“I can’t.”
“Forget about the party.”
“You know about the party?”
“Your friends will be at the party. You and I can be alone somewhere else.”
“How do you know about the party?”
“Thanks for not inviting me, by the way. That felt good.”
“I didn’t— it’s supposed to be a small get together. Nothing big.”
“Sure doesn’t sound that way to me. Anyway, dinner. Think about dinner.” His pager went off. He looked down at it before looking back at you. “I’ve got to go. But, think about it.”
~~~
Natasha, Clint, and Scott were sitting in the abandoned hallway as Val walked in.
“Okay, so the beer’s coming at 7,” she told them all. “And some of the floor nurses are bringing wine.”
“You invited nurses?” Natasha asked.
“Did you clear this with Y/N?” Scott asked.
“A few more people isn’t going to make a different. Okay? A party’s a party.”
“But it will,” Clint said. “She’s having a day.”
“And the bigger the party, the less time for bad sex with the girlfriend,” Natasha added.
“Would you stop saying that?” Val was getting annoyed. “Britt and I have great sex.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“All the time.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“In fact, we’ll probably have sex during and after the party.”
“As long as you clear the party with Y/N,” Clint cut in.
“Britt just needs to realize that doctors can have fun. That we’re not all workaholics with god complexes.”
“We are workaholics with god complexes.”
“Just please tell tell Y/N before the party,” Clint continued. “Just… please.”
~~~
Having a few moments to breathe, you sat in the lobby, staring out the window. You were flipping your cell phone in your hand. The few people left who knew you and what day it was had kept trying to call you, leaving long, saddened voicemails and texts. You were ignoring all of it, not wanting to try and make the others feel better when it was your day to be off.
“Hey,” Steve plopped down in the chair next to you. “I heard.”
“You heard what?” You were immediately scared about what he could have heard.
“That you and Tony had a talk.”
“Oh… did he tell you what we talked about?”
“No. He just told me that I should talk to you and let you have the day to not be okay.”
“I’m okay.”
“No, you’re not. But that’s okay. Do you want to talk about it?”
You shook your head and stood up from your chair. “We’re adults,” you started walking backwards so you could still face him. “When did that happen? And how do we make it stop?”
Steve stood up. “Y/N—“
“I’ll see you later, Dr. Rogers.”
You took your leaving, heading straight for the locker room. You had decided that you were heading to the cemetery, or to the bar across the street. It was time for you to head anyway.
~~~
“You paged me?” Clint questioned Val as he walked up to her.
“I’m gonna be a while,” she responded. “Do you think you could get home and sign for the beer?”
“Why don’t you have your girlfriend sign for it?” Peter asked, randomly showing up.
“You have a very annoying way of sneaking up on people. And you’re not invited.”
“I wouldn't come anyway. I hate big parties.”
“Is Y/N the only person in the medical center who doesn’t know the size of this thing?” Clint asked.
“I’m telling her,” Val said. “I’ll page her now.”
“You can’t,” Natasha said, walking up. “She’s gone already.”
“What? Already?”
“She’s been here for almost 48 hours. It was time for her to go.”
“You don’t think Y/N’s really going to mind about the party, right?”
“When you tell her, I want you to make it very clear to her that I had nothing to do with this party,” Clint responded. “Nothing.”
“Why? Do you—you like her!”
“N-no!”
“And not just as a roommate!”
“I’ve got to go.”
~~~
You decided to drive around instead of going to the cemetery or the bar. You headed to your house, knowing you’re late for the party. As you drove up, there were cars lining the street and lots of people heading into your house.
“Val, I’m going to kill you,” you murmured.
After finally finding somewhere to park, you walked into the house. There were people everywhere, and you didn’t recognize any of them. It was clear, as you walked through the crowd, that most of them were already drunk. The music was making the walls shake. Eventually, and thankfully, you found Clint.
“Where is Val?!” You shouted.
“She didn’t clear it with you?” Clint responded, holding a bottle of tequila.
“This was supposed to be a meet-the-girlfriend get together little thing!”
“Val has a lot of friends.”
“Val definitely doesn’t know this many people.”
“I told her to clear it with you.”
“I really can’t handle this right now.”
“You want me to kick everyone out? I’m gonna kick everyone out.”
“Y/N, baby! You made it!” A drunk Natasha exclaimed, dancing up to them. “Woo!”
“Screw it,” you gave in. “Give me this.”
You ripped the tequila bootle from Clint’s hand and took a big swig of it. It burned but you didn’t care. You started dancing with Natasha. Clint soon joined the two of you. After the three of you were more drunk, you escaped into one of the empty side rooms.
“Why did we want to be surgeons anyway?” You wondered, laying on the floor.
“Surgery is a very serious business,” Clint responded before letting out a burp.
“Surgery is stupid. It’s stupid…. It’s stupid.” You took another long sip of a drink.
“Give me that,” Natasha took your drink from you. “You’re drunk.”
“I'm not driving. I'm not on call. I'm in my own house. My life is crap. And it's my party and I'll get drunk if I want to.”
Suddenly, a beautiful blond woman peeked her head in. “Is, um, Val here?” She asked.
“Oh, you must be Britt,” Natasha laughed, standing up. “You’re very model-like. And, no, Val’s not here right now.” She stumbled passed Britt and out of the room.
“You and Valkyrie are very beautiful,” Clint stated.
“Val said she was going to be at home,” Britt said, clearly uncomfortable as she looked around. “She didn’t say there was going to be a party.”
“Which, I promise you, pisses both of us off,” you slurred. “Tequila?” You lifted the bottle up. “It helps.”
“When do you think she’s gonna get here?”
“Don’t know. But… I do know I’m low on tequila, Britt.”
“I’m serious.”
“So am I. We’re interns, Britt. The hospital owns us. It’s what we do.”
Britt gave a fake smile before leaving.
“Bye!” Clint shouted after her.
“Nice to meet ya!” You added. “She was hot.”

Not too long later, you ended up in the front of your house, swaying drunkenly. Steve was out front too, hands stuffed in his pockets as he leaned against his car and watched you.
“You know,” he called out, bringing your attention to him, “in some states, you could get arrested for that.” You headed towards him. “So you blew me off for a bottle of tequila. Tequila’s no good for ya. It doesn’t call, doesn’t text. It doesn’t write. And it definitely isn’t as much fun to wake up to.”
You grinned, wrapping your arms around his neck. You pulled him in for a kiss, which he definitely wasn’t refusing.
“Take me for a ride, Steve,” you whispered.
Holding onto your waist, he opened the passenger seat car door. He sat down before pulling you onto him and shutting the door. You straddled him, kissing down his neck as he leaned back the seat. Your hands soon found the way to his shirt. Tugging at the ends, he got the hint and took it off. You lost your breath for a moment. You had seen him before but you had forgotten how gorgeous the man beneath you actually was.
“What’s wrong, doll?” He asked, softly caressing your cheek.
“Nothing,” you responded. “I just…” You trailed off before kissing him again, this time getting more heated.
~~~
After a good round of sex, even from the passenger seat, Steve pulled his shirt over your shoulders.
“You know…” he started as you leaned in and kissed his bare shoulder, “it sounds like the party’s winding down.” You slowly started trailing kisses up his neck. “Listen to me,” he laughed, pushing you to sit up. “We should probably sneak inside.”
“I actually think we’ve done enough sneaking for the night,” you replied. “It was good sneaking, but enough.”
“Yeah,” he smiled, “I’d say we’re pretty good sneakers.”
He pulled you down for a kiss. You were quickly interrupted by a tapping on your window. As you hurried and separated, you saw that it was Gamora.
“You mind moving this tail wagon?” She asked, clearly annoyed. “You’re blocking me in.”
“Apparently not good enough,” Steve said as you groaned and rested your head on Steve’s shoulders.
“I’m so fired,” you muttered.
~~~
You woke up in the morning with a splintering headache and a trashed house. You couldn’t deal with either immediately though as you were going to be late to work. Going downstairs with Scott and Clint, Val walked into the house.
“Holy mother of destruction,” she exclaimed, looking around.
“You missed doctor-palooza,” you responded, heading to the kitchen to find something to eat.
“Apparently, you all didn’t.” She observed the tiredness of the three of you.
“I should probably never speak to you again.”
“Ugh, I’m so sorry, Y/N. I had no idea it was going to get so—“
“It’s fine. Really, I don’t care. What would I be doing anyway?” Clint handed you a bottle of water before him and Clint headed out of the house, with you following. “I’m not cleaning this up though!”
~~~
Natasha was walking down the hall when she noticed a tired Doctor Banner enter an on call room. She slipped in, locking the door behind her. Bruce looked up, having already taken off his shoes and shirt.
“Thanks for the coffee,” Natasha said.
Getting a surge of confidence, Bruce walked over and kissed her. Beginning to kiss more passionately, they undressed each other.
“You’re welcome,” Bruce mumbled.
Charred Feathers - Dream SMP fic
Was craving whump, was craving Nether survival, was craving wing fic. So I combined it all and the boys had a bad time.
Alternate ending to the disc saga finale but Tommy has wings.
There’s an attempt at writing a panic attack with no experience and also discussion of past suicidal thoughts.
_____
Tommy was aware of everything in fine detail.
The rough stone under his feet, uneven and harsh. The stinging cuts and bruises that scattered across his arms and face. The soft hum of the Nether portal. His breathing, short and sharp. His heart, beating a painful pace. The sharp scent of blood in the air. The light, reflecting off Dream’s emotionless mask, off the axe he held in his hand, off the tears shimmering on Tubbo’s cheeks as Dream stood over him.
Tubbo was on his knees, one of Dream’s hands in his hair. Dream held the axe of peace in his other hand, holding its blade uncomfortably close to Tubbo’s neck.
Tommy couldn’t take his eyes off his friend. Tubbo, despite the tear tracks down his face, was smiling, a soft, contented, sad smile that made Tommy’s heart ache even more.
“Dream-” he began, his voice hoarse and choked. Dream didn’t answer, simply lifted the axe and though he clearly tried to hide it, Tommy could see the way Tubbo tensed. He took an involuntary half step forward, wings flaring in alarm behind him. “Please.”
Dream paused, his mask tipping slightly to one side. For a moment, Tommy felt a rush of hope - maybe there was still a way out of this, maybe they could both survive.
Dream lowered the axe, and Tommy let out a small sigh of relief, feathers shivering slightly.
“I’ll tell you what, let’s strike a deal.” He pointed the axe at Tommy, hand still on Tubbo’s hair, not even looking at the shorter boy. “I’ll let Tubbo live, he might be useful later, but you still have to lose something.” He paused, tipping his face again and Tommy could sense the smirk behind the mask. “How about those wings? You won’t be needing them where you’re going.”
Tommy stiffened, curling his wings protectively around himself. He had only just regained the confidence to fly, only just begun caring for them again after his exile. He didn’t want to lose that.
But Tubbo was on his knees, eyes wide, still bleeding from his many wounds.
“Fine,” Tommy snarled. “I’ll let you clip my wings again.” His voice shook slightly as he spoke, and he hoped it wasn’t noticeable.
Dream chuckled, adjusting his grip on Tubbo to haul the boy up by the shoulder. Still giving all his attention to Tommy, Dream withdrew a length of rope and quickly bound Tubbo’s hands.
“You really think I’ll let you off that easily? Oh no, it’s so much more fun when you’re grounded.” He shoved Tubbo to the ground behind him, the boy catching himself with his bound hands and glaring up at Dream as the masked man stepped past him. “Oh no,” Dream said, his voice low, his grip on the axe tight and confident. Tommy took an uncertain step backwards, wings flared and puffed up in his fear. “I’ll be taking them. I’ll hang them on my wall as a trophy, a memory of all the fun we’ve had together!”
“Tommy don’t!” Tubbo said. He pushed himself to his knees, bound hands resting on his legs. “It’s okay. I’ll be okay. We’ve said goodbye.” His voice was even, accepting, quiet and Tommy felt low rage building in his chest.
Dream wanted his wings. Dream wanted to ground him, permanently this time. Dream wanted to take away the familiar weight from his back, the warmth of his feathers, the comfort that came with cocooning himself in his wings.
“Are you insane?” he spat, barely thinking. “I’m not going to let you f-”
“If you say so,” Dream interrupted smoothly. He turned, stepping back to where Tubbo knelt and wrenched the boy’s head up again to expose his neck. Tommy froze, heart skipping a beat, blood pounding in his ears. Tubbo bit down on a choked noise of surprise and fear, eyes flashing with panic before settling back into the resigned, expressionless look Tommy was growing uncomfortably familiar with.
He froze a moment longer as Dream drew back his hand, axe lined up directly with Tubbo’s throat. The thought of being grounded terrified Tommy - reminded him too much of exile, of being trapped in a canyon with a maddening brother.
But Tubbo was before him, and the axe of Peace was beginning to move.
“Alright!” he cried. “Alright, fine. Just... let Tubbo go.” He dropped to his knees, wings drooping behind him.
“Oh, I won’t be doing that,” Dream said, a smile to his voice. “I’m beginning to realize he’s far too useful to just let wander free.”
“Don’t,” Tubbo breathed, and Tommy looked up to meet his eyes. They were shimmering with tears, and Tommy forced himself to smile.
“It’s okay, Tubbo,” he muttered. Then Dream dragged Tubbo a few meters away, binding his feet and quickly gagging him. Tommy took a shaky breath and lowered his gaze, not wanting to see Tubbo’s reaction to what was about to happen.
A hand pressed into the small of his back and Tommy stiffened, heart rate leaping. Before he had a chance to brace himself, Dream shoved him forward, face slamming painfully into the hard stone floor.
A knee dug into his back, a hand on his hair and Tommy’s heartbeat quickened further, his breath coming in short burst. It was hard to breathe, Dream’s weight on his back stifling, bringing back far too many bad memories.
Focus! He had to focus. Maybe he had a chance - but it was only going to be one, and he needed to be alert, needed to not give into his bad memories.
But his chest was tight and Dream’s hand shifted from his hair to his wing and despite himself, he let out a muffled whimper of fear.
Sand under his face, a hand on his back, the rhythmic snipping of shears, feathers falling around him and he was alone, alone, alone but for one friend.
“Don’t worry,” Dream’s voice soothed, and Tommy hated that it helped, that he already felt himself leaning back into old habits, old thought patterns.
“He’s not my friend he’s not my friend he’s not my friend he nearly killed Tubbo.”
The cold chill of metal pressed against the base of his right wing, right where it connected to his back. Tommy fought down an involuntary shudder, closing his eyes and focusing on breathing.
One chance. He had one chance.
He shut his eyes and breathed. In and out, in and out, in and out. He could hear Tubbo’s muffled sounds, could hear the portal humming, could sense Dream shifting on top of him.
One chance.
He breathed in.
Dream lifted his arm.
He breathed out.
Dream moved.
And Tommy rolled.
He spun, pushing himself upwards and to the side and slamming his wing into Dream’s face to throw him off. Searing pain shot through Tommy’s whole body and he cried out and staggered back a pace. The axe of peace, freshly bloodied, skidded across the floor, landing a few paces away from Tubbo.
Tommy didn’t hesitate. Dream was dazed on the ground and Tommy ran, ignoring the way his wing hung painfully behind him. He snatched up the axe of peace in one hand, skidding to Tubbo’s side and quickly cutting his legs free, hauling him to his feet. Then, one hand gripping the axe, the other gripping Tubbo’s bound hands, he sprinted towards the portal.
They burst through, the heat slamming into them like a wall. Tommy didn’t stop, even though the heat bore down on him, stole his breath, not paying any attention to where he was going - he was just running, half dragging Tubbo behind him.
Dream was going to come after them - he knew it. Honestly, he was half surprised they had made it this far. But he wasn’t going to go down without a fight - he was never going to go down without a fight.
He ran blindly, focusing on the netherack under his feet and Tubbo’s hands clutching onto his. His chest was heaving, his wing was sending a sharp burst of pain through his whole body that blurred his vision every time he moved.
Abruptly, he felt Tubbo stop, tugging his hand. He paused, wiping a shaking hand across his face to remove non-existent sweat and looked back at his friend. Tubbo was nodding towards a small gap in the wall of the red cliff beside them. Tommy didn’t hesitate as he ducked into the small space behind his friend.
It was a fraction cooler in the cave and they scrambled back as far as they could go, pressing themselves against the wall, just breathing as well as they could in the thick heat of the Nether air.
Tommy was shaking, his breath coming in short bursts. It was hard to breathe and his chest felt tight, his head was spinning and he couldn’t breathe.
Tubbo’s bound hands rested gently on his shoulder and he stiffened, pulling away and taking a sharp breath. He dropped the axe of peace, burying his face in his hands and gasping, chest tight, shaking.
“Breathe. Breathe. Tubbo needs you, you need to BREATHE.”
He couldn’t. He couldn’t breathe, he could still feel Dream’s hand on his back, hand in his hair, soothing voice, armour in a hole, explosions and he couldn’t breathe.
“Tommy? Can you hear me?”
He nodded jerkily, not looking up, curling into himself. (It was too hot it was too hot he couldn’t breathe and the lava grinned up at him and Dream’s voice echoed through his mind (useless useless useless he was useless) and Wilbur was laughing and laughing and laughing and-)
“Breathe with me.” Tubbo’s voice was even and he focused on it, tried to pull himself out of the memories that threatened to overwhelm him. “In for eight. Hold. And out again.”
They sat for what felt like an age, Tubbo softly walking him through the breathing until the pressure on his chest seemed to ease and Tommy felt like he could breathe again. Shakily, he looked up to see Tubbo crouched in front of him, one hand hovering nervously near Tommy’s shoulder.
“I’m here,” Tubbo said and that was the best thing he could have said, a confirmation that he was here, that they were both here, now, and that for this brief, stolen moment they were safe. Tommy let out another shaky breath and nodded, feeling too exhausted to say anything. “I need to look at your wing,” Tubbo continued, his voice still even, still calming.
Despite himself, Tommy stiffened. He really didn’t want anyone to be anywhere near his wings right now, even Tubbo. Tubbo must have seen the reaction because he sat back, the concern clear in his eyes.
“Dream managed to nick it,” he explained. “I’m not sure how bad it is, but… there’s a lot of blood - I might need to bandage it, or tie your wing to your back so it doesn’t drag and get worse.”
Tommy hesitated, the bubbling panic threatening to resurface. But this was Tubbo, and if he trusted anyone it was Tubbo, even after everything that had happened. And his wing hurt and he’d been wounded enough times to know if it wasn’t dealt with soon he might lose his flight after all.
So he nodded slowly and shifted, revealing his wings to Tubbo and trying to stretch them out. The moment he moved his right wing blinding pain shot through him and he gasped, swaying forward and catching himself on the warm rock, vision flickering.
“He cut deep,” Tubbo said quietly. “I’m going to have to bandage it, okay? Can I touch you?” Tommy nodded stiffly, shivering slightly when Tubbo laid a gentle hand on his back, carefully wrapping his wing, pulling it tight. “I had to use my gag,” he said apologetically. “We don’t have anything else.”
Again, Tommy nodded, wrapping his left wing around himself in an attempt at comfort and running his fingers nervously through the feathers. Tubbo carefully let go of his other wing and it dropped, pain shooting through Tommy. He hissed, balling his fists and fighting back tears.
“Okay… I’ll have to tie it to you, alright? Then the rope will keep it up and hopefully, it won’t hurt quite as much.” He let out a low breath and once again asked Tommy if he could touch him. Again, Tommy nodded, and Tubbo carefully used what little rope they had to fashion a rough sling for the wing, tying it tightly to Tommy’s body.
When he was finished, Tommy turned to face him, getting a proper look at his friend for the first time since they had escaped.
His hands were shaking and bloody. His clothes were torn, and a large gash covered his side, a black eye and a trail of blood running down his face. He looked a mess, and Tommy was reminded just how close to death he had come.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice barely a whisper. Tubbo started, glancing down at his hands and shrugged.
“I’ll live,” he said dismissively. “I’m just worried about your wing - I-I don’t know much about tending to wings,” he admitted quietly.
During the wars, it was usually Wilbur who had carefully wrapped Tommy’s wings whenever they were wounded. Wilbur, who would sit behind him, laughing as Tommy ranted about whatever had gone wrong, and how it wasn’t his fault he’d got hurt. Wilbur, whose gentle hands had healed his wings so he could fly again.
“It’s okay,” Tommy said quietly. He hadn’t missed how Tubbo had dodged his question. “We just need to get home.”
A flicker of concern crossed Tubbo’s face, exhaustion following a moment later before it was all covered behind a blank expression of hard determination.
“Do you know where we are?” he asked, and Tommy shook his head. He didn’t want to think about how far they probably were from the main hub. Maybe if he’d kept his bearings when they had entered the Nether, he could figure out the vague direction it would be in. But he had no idea which way they had run.
It suddenly dawned on him just how much trouble they were in. Trapped in the nether with nothing but a netherite axe between them, wounded, hurt, and being hunted.
“We don’t have any gold,” he muttered, because out of all the problems they currently faced, that was the one his brain decided to fixate on. Maybe if they had gold they could take shelter in a bastion, or near piglins. But with no gold, the Nether was a much more terrifying place.
“We need to move soon,” Tubbo said quietly, and Tommy read the unspoken words. Dream would be after them soon. They needed to keep moving.
    Tommy nodded and taking a deep breath, he struggled to his feet, swaying and putting out a hand to support himself. The wall was uncomfortably hot and he gave a low hiss, pulling his hand back and swaying again.
    Tubbo appeared beside him, a silent offer, a silent request as he swayed himself. Tommy leaned into him, letting Tubbo use him as support as much as he got support from his friend.
    Tommy carefully spread out his good wing to cover Tubbo as much as he could as they slipped out of their cave into the stifling heat of the Nether.
    There was nothing recognisable nearby and Tommy fought down a rush of panic.
    “Aren’t people who’re lost supposed to stay still?” he muttered. Tubbo glanced up at him.
    “They’re not usually being chased,” he said. “And that’s assuming anyone is actually looking for us. Except…” He trailed off, his face pale.
    Tommy paused a moment longer, trying to gauge their direction. Finally, he made up his mind - it was a guess, and a slim one at that, but he was sure enough it was the right way he was willing to try.
    “Come on,” he said and began to move slowly forward. Tubbo didn’t resist, moving along beside him.
    “How do you know?” he asked quietly.
    “Trust me, they call me the ‘ooman GP-” Tommy trailed off with a small sigh, something twisting in his chest. What he wouldn't give for Techno to be here right now. And not the Techno who had destroyed L’manberg, not the Techno who had sided with Dream.
    The Techno he had looked up to. Had seen as a hero, as a legend, as someone to be like. The Techno who had carefully helped him put his shattered and damaged pieces back together after his exile. The Techno who had put up with all his annoying tendencies - and Tommy knew he had a lot.
    That Techno was gone, Tommy told himself. He had refused to compromise, had refused to see things from any other perspective.
    Had refused to see how much he had hurt Tommy.
    Tommy scowled, shaking the thoughts back and focusing on the task at hand.
    Tubbo was uncomfortably warm beside him in the heat of the Nether, but he refused to let go. He wasn’t sure if either of them would really be able to stand without support anyway.
    It was hot. A dry, dry, horrible heat that felt like it was sucking all the moisture from the air. Tommy was gasping before they had gone too far, lips cracked and hurting, Tubbo shaking slightly beside them. He knew they wouldn’t last long - not in their condition, and not without supplies or food.
    The axe of peace was heavy in his hand, but Tommy refused to let go. It was their only protection, the only thing he still had.
    He had lost Ghostbur’s weapons. He wasn’t going to lose Techno’s as well.
    A soulsand desert stretched out before them and Tommy felt his heart sink. He glanced behind him, terrified at the possibility of seeing a green and glowing purple figure following them.
    “We need to cross it,” he said quietly and prime he hoped he was going the right way. If he was leading them deeper into the Nether he was leading them to their deaths.
    Tubbo nodded, breathing heavily. It was too hot and dry to even sweat properly - the moisture evaporated almost instantly. It was an unnatural, uncomfortable and deadly heat.
    The soulsand clung to their feet, gripping at them, dragging them back and slowing their progress to a crawl. It wrapped around Tommy’s foot, gripping onto his shoe and he stumbled, tugging his foot free but leaving the shoe behind. When he placed his foot down the uneven sand seared his foot and he gasped, skipping a pace.
    Tubbo glanced up at him in concern, but Tommy shook his head. They couldn’t afford to stop moving. He just had to grit his teeth and bear the pain.
    He had no idea how long they had been slogging through the sand, pain accompanying every step, when Tubbo cried out, stumbling forward and dropping to his knees. An arrow had appeared in his shoulder, blood drying instantly on his shirt.
    “Tubbo,” Tommy said, his voice hoarse. He was so thirsty - the Nether drained you, sucked the life out of you and stole all your liquid. “We need to move.” He hated that they had to, hated that they didn't even have the time to tend to the wound. But they had no choice.
    Another arrow skipped across the sand behind him and Tommy turned to see a skeleton, drawing back its bow again. Tommy limped in front of Tubbo, stretching his wing wide, snarling at it.
    It fired, missing its shot and Tommy changed forward, gripping the axe of peace in both hands. It took two slices and the skeleton was a pile of bones on the ground.
    Tommy carefully picked up its bow and the two arrows it left behind and limped back to where Tubbo had struggled to his feet again, one hand gripping his shoulder. He silently handed the bow and arrows to Tubbo.
    Again, they began moving, silent but for their heavy breathing and grunts of pain. Tommy’s vision was blurring, but he had no water to shed tears.
    Were they going to be trapped here forever?
    He almost wanted Dream to come. At least that might be a quick death.
    He almost didn’t notice when the soulsand ended. They were a few feet into the netherack when he finally did, looking up to see the lava sea stretching out beside them, miles below. Tubbo shifted beside him, eyes blurred with pain.
    “Do you recognise anything?” he croaked. Tommy shook his head, continuing to march forward.
    Surely they were nearly at the portal? They’d travelled about a day in the Overworld. He had no idea how long they’d been walking, but it would take considerably less time to get home again.
    If they were going the right way.
    A haunting cry split the air and Tommy froze, Tubbo stiffening beside him. They looked out over the lava, and Tommy could vaguely make out the elegant white shape of a ghast.
    “Cover,” he rasped. Tubbo nodded, moving as quickly as he could for the edge of the cliffside. Tommy followed, gripping his hand, glancing back to see if the ghast had spotted them.
    It screamed, and Tommy winced, pressing his hands to his ears. The sound was so loud it made him feel nauseous.
    Heat washed past them and somehow they managed to move faster, the explosion rocking their world and sending somehow even warmer air washing over them.
    Tommy glanced back, just in time to see another fireball shooting in their direction. There wasn’t time to do anything, so he grabbed Tubbo, pulling him to one side and flinging out his good wing.
    Fire burst over it and he cried out, falling to the ground, Tubbo motionless underneath him. Pain, pain, pain, his feathers were burning, the foul smell filling the air. He gasped, clawing at the hot ground, eyes unable to summon the tears he wanted.
    Tubbo shifted underneath him, rolling out from under his wing. Tommy could vaguely make out the sound of an arrow being fired, then another, then the shrieking cry of a ghast in pain.
    “I’m out,” Tubbo cried. He laid his hands on Tommy’s shoulder and Tommy gave a choking, dry sob. Everything hurt.
    The ghast shrieked again and Tommy knew he had to move. He gritted his teeth and forced himself to stand, shaking. Tubbo helped as best he could, but Tommy could see from his expression every movement hurt.
    The ghast shrieked one more time, but this wasn’t a shot. Tommy glanced back at it in time to see it die, vanishing into smoke. He stepped back unsteadily, Tubbo beside him, stretching out his aching, aching wing in an effort to protect his friend.
    A figure bounded the hill, a crossbow held loosely in his grip. The white mask drew another dry sob from Tommy’s throat.
    He should have known they would never be able to get away. All this pain had been for nothing.
    “There you are!” Dream called, stepping lightly towards them. Tommy wrapped his wing around Tubbo, drawing him close, stepping back again, heart beating quickly.
    There was a crack in the wall behind them.
    He could see a corner of cobblestone through the crack.
    “Tubbo,” he whispered. “You need to go.”
    “Wh-” Tubbo looked up at him, shaking his head determinedly. “No, I’m not leaving you.”
    Tommy pressed the axe of peace into Tubbo’s hands.
    “Go. Please, he won’t kill me. Don’t lose it.”
    “No - Tommy, your wings.”
    He shivered at the reminder. But it would be worth it if he knew Tubbo was alive.
    “Please,” he said weakly. “If one of us doesn’t get out, everyone will only hear Dream’s story. I’ll buy you time.”
    Dream was stepping closer, swinging his crossbow with casual ease. Tommy shoved Tubbo, pressing the axe into his hand and forcing him into the small gap.
    “Tomm-” Tubbo tried, but Tommy shoved him again, making sure he had actually gone before turning to face Dream, stretching his burnt and shaking wing as wide as he could.
    “You found me,” Tommy said. His throat ached, and everything hurt so much anyway, how much worse could losing his wings be? Tubbo had a chance and that was all that mattered.
    “Are you ready to listen to me now, Tommy?” Dream asked. “You should have learned by now - I know what’s best.”
    Tommy wanted to curse him out. Really, he did. He could already think of at least five devastating and colourful insults. But he was exhausted, and everything hurt and he couldn't quite get the words out.
    Dream was right, though. Every time Tommy had gone against him, it had only resulted in pain. L’manberg. The duel. Exile. Running away. Doomsday. And Tommy was so, so tired.
    Maybe if he did what he was told, just got it over with, his friends could be safe.
    At least if Dream was taking the time to cut his wings off Tubo would have the chance to escape.
    His wing drooped and he dropped his hands.
    “Fine,” he spat. “Green prick,” he muttered under his breath. Maybe he would go along with it for now, but that didn’t mean he had to like it.
    “Good to hear,” Dream said, and the smirk was clear in his voice. Tommy glared at him, then limped forward slowly as Dream held out a hand. Suddenly, though the impulse repulsed him, he wanted to feel the comforting touch that he’d grown used to in exile, even if it often brought pain. He didn’t care anymore.
    An arrow skipped on the rock between them.
Tommy started, staring at the spot for a long moment, brain taking a while to catch up. Then he looked up slowly, turning to look at the rise beside him.
    Dream was looking up as well, his mask making it impossible to see his reaction. But when Tommy turned to see what - or who - he was looking at, his heart skipped a beat.
    Figures were standing on the rise behind him, Punz, a bow in hand, his eyes hard. Behind him stood Sapnap, Sam, Quackity, others Tommy couldn’t process.
    They had come.
    They had all come for him.
    “I’m sorry Dream,” Punz said, stepping forward, switching his bow out for a glittering, deadly sword. “But you should have paid me more.”
    Tommy took an uncertain step towards the cliff face, unsure of what he was supposed to do. Before he could fully react, Dream darted forward, grabbing his arm and hauling him backwards.
    He let out a cry of surprise, stumbling over the uneven, hot ground.
    “Let him go, Dream,” Sapnap said, eyes hard, sword tight.
    “Let him go.”
    A voice came from behind them and Dream started behind Tommy. Carefully, he let Tommy go, shoving him forward. Tommy collapsed to his knees, shaking, eyes blurring. Vaguely he was aware of Eret, Sapnap, Sam, Punz, others, surrounding Dream but he was shaking too much to properly process it all.
    “Tommy?”
    A soft, comforting voice spoke and he looked up to see Puffy leaning over him, her eyes full of concern and grief. Tommy swallowed thickly, eyes painfully dry because he had no water left in him.
    “Tubbo,” he croaked. Tubbo was still out there. Tubbo was alone.
    Someone helped him to a sitting position, supporting his back, muttering over the state of his wings. The touch made his skin crawl, but he didn't have the energy to resist. People were talking around him, whispering, their words floating out of reach.
    Something cool was pressed against his lips and Tommy gasped as he felt the blessed cool sense of water. He swallowed quickly, gasping, hands reaching to grab the bottle.
    “Easy,” someone said. “Take it slowly.”
    “We got you.”
    The water was taken away and Tommy breathed, feeling his whole body shaking.
    “Tubbo,” he tried again. They needed to know. They needed to find Tubbo. “He needs help.”
    “It’s okay,” he was vaguely aware of Puffy’s voice again, drifting into his understanding. “Quackity, Ranboo, Niki and Jack have gone to find him. Punz, Sam and Sapnap are taking care of Dream. You’re safe, okay?”
    The water was returned and Tommy swallowed it again, feeling the blessed relief of water flowing down his throat. He never wanted to stop drinking.
    But he was exhausted, and the world was spinning and everything was so hot, and Puffy’s hand on his back was so soft and gentle and they were looking for Tubbo and he collapsed into darkness.
 ~*~
     Tubbo hadn’t wanted to run. He didn’t even know why he had run - it had all just happened so fast. Tommy had shoved him and the axe was heavy in his hands and then he had heard Dream’s voice and instinct had kicked in.
    He had run. He had left Tommy behind and ran like the coward he was.
    He stumbled through the Nether, moving further and further away, barely noticing where he was going. Finally, he tripped, collapsing and falling to the ground. His shoulder burned - the arrow grating painfully against his bones.
    He struggled to a sitting position, curling into a tiny scoop on the side of the cliff face, gripping the axe of peace in one hand. He should go back. He should go back he should stop being such a coward.
    Why hadn’t Tommy just let him die? All of this could have been avoided, and now Tommy was going to have his wings ripped from him and Tubbo wasn’t even brave enough to try and help him.
    Some friend he was.
    About a good a friend as he was president.
    A failure. A failure and a pushover and a yes man and an idiot.
    He was sobbing, dry, silent sobs that shook his shoulders. He hugged his knees, burying his face in them and sobbed, gasping for breath, the hot air suffocating.
    He deserved to die here.
    The sobs shook his whole form and he shuddered, gasping and trying not to make any sound but he couldn’t help it. He was working into a frenzy and he knew - he knew that somewhere Dream was dragging Tommy to isolation and darkness again. Or worse, pinning him down and cutting his wings.
    He gasped again, choking and sobbing, his whole body shaking and shuddering. He didn’t care if anything found him - part of him wanted it to. He had abandoned Tommy and he deserved everything he got.
    He had exiled Tommy, exiled his best friend. He was the cause of Tommy’s trauma and PTSD and pain. He had done that, and now he was grounding his friend as surely as he was welding the weapon himself.
    Slowly, his choking sobbing gasps began to fade and he leaned against the side of the rock, not caring that it burned his cheek slightly. He closed his eyes, shaking, exhausted, just wanting to sleep and never wake up.
    “...bo?”
    Someone was calling. Tubbo froze, pressing a hand over his mouth to cut off the last of his sobs and biting his lip hard as his shoulder moved. His head was pounding and he gripped the axe tightly, daring whatever - whoever - it was to find him. Either he’d kill them or they’d kill him and either way he didn’t care.
    “Tubbo!”
    They were calling for him. He pressed himself further into his hiding spot, heart pounding. Why were they looking for him? Had they realized his part in all that had gone wrong? Was he finally going to be locked up in the prison?
    “Tubbo! Where are you?”
    More than one. He could make out a number of voices, familiar. Almost comforting. But he wasn’t going to reveal himself. Maybe they would pass him by and leave him to die like he deserved.
    “Tubbo!” This voice was very close, and a moment later he could make out the tall figure of Ranboo, moving through the dim red light of the Nether. Tubbo still didn’t move, knuckles white around the axe of Peace, hand still pressed over his mouth.
    “Tub-” Ranboo turned, and suddenly they locked eyes and Tubbo didn’t know why but he started shaking. “Tubbo!”
    Ranboo rushed to his side, kneeling beside him and reaching a hand out. Tubbo shrank back, not even sure why.
    “Uh.. okay, hey, it’s okay. We’re here to take you home, okay…” Ranboo glanced up, then back down at Tubbo, shifting nervously, clearly out of his depth. “Hoo boy... stay here a minute.” He stood up, waving at someone in the distance. “I found him!” Then he crouched back down beside Tubbo, eyes full of concern.
    Tubbo finally managed to pull his hand away from his mouth, wrapping it around the handle of the axe of peace as well. Ranboo glanced down at it, then back up at Tubbo, then glanced into the distance.
    “Is Tommy okay?” Tubbo asked, his voice hoarse and rough. Ranboo nodded quickly, and if he had had any more tears to shed Tubbo would.
    “He’s okay, he’s uh - he’s a little - well, a lot - shaken up. But we found him and uh, and Dream’s being locked in the prison.”
    Tubbo nodded, the information not quite processing. Tommy was alive, that was all that mattered.
    A moment later Quackity was beside him, helping him drink soothing, cool, refreshing water. Then Niki was at his side, gentle hands removing the arrow from his shoulder and binding his wound. Then Jack arrived, helping him to his feet and they began to move through the Nether.
    He barely followed what happened next. He was vaguely aware of them meeting another group of people just outside the main hub. Vaguely aware of discussion around him, the words swirling out of his reach. Niki was holding his hand and he focused on that because otherwise, he would collapse.
    Cold air washed over him, slapping him into his senses for a moment as they stepped through the portal. It was raining, and Tubbo had never been happier to feel the drops of water on his face. He looked up, feeling the rain soothe his burnt cheek, ease his headache a little.
    Eret was standing in the centre of the small group gathered around the portal. In his arms he carried Tommy, limp and unresponsive, his unbound wing dangling towards the ground, burnt and damaged.
    “Tommy,” Tubbo whispered, breaking free of Niki’s grasp and moving to his friend’s side. He gripped Tommy’s hand, far too hot but at least that meant he was alive.
    Eret started, looking down at Tubbo, his conversation forgotten for the moment.
    “He’s okay,” he said evenly, his voice soothing. “I’m not sure how to tend to his wings though.”
    The assembled group turned their attention onto Quackity, as the only other winged hybrid present. Tubbo couldn’t follow the conversation, gripping Tommy’s hand and staring at his friend’s face.
    “Philza,” he whispered suddenly. When no one heard him he glanced up, meeting Ranboo’s gaze. “Wilbur used to look after Tommy’s wings,” he said softly. “He learned from Phil. Maybe we can take Tommy there?”
    Ranboo’s face lit up and he nodded, and having said his piece, Tubbo zoned out of the conversation again. He was swaying, he knew, but he gripped Tommy’s hand, the axe of peace still in his other. The rain was nice. It was cool, it was wet, it was everything the Nether wasn’t.
    “Tubbo.” Someone was calling his name and he started, looking up to see Eret speaking evenly to him. Somehow without him noticing, despite still gripping his hand, Tommy had been handed over to Puffy, who was carrying him with surprising ease for her small stature. “Puffy and Ranboo are going to take Tommy to Philza and see if he can help. If you come with me I’ll tend your wounds as best you can and you can get some rest.”
    Tubbo blinked, gripping Tommy’s hand a little tighter, a sudden clenching fear filling his chest. He shook his head, stepping a little closer to Tommy’s limp form. He wasn’t going to leave his best friend alone again.
    A muted conversation drifted out of his reach again and Tubbo just stood, tightening his grip on the two things he was holding. Finally, Puffy turned towards the portal and Tubbo went with her.
    Stepping back into the Nether was the hardest thing he had ever done. The oppressive heat almost knocked him over and he shuddered, shutting his eyes for a long moment. Every step ached and he wanted nothing more than to curl up and sleep, but he needed to know if Tommy was going to be alright.
    Halfway there, Tommy was shifted to Ranboo’s back and Tubbo found himself holding Puffy’s hand instead, staring at Tommy in front of him, refusing to let him out of his sight.
    The sharp change of temperature woke Tubbo out of his half doze when they exited the portal, but the snow up to his ankles soon faded into background discomfort and he felt himself zoning out again.
    At some point, Puffy must have picked him up because something warm pressed against his side and it didn’t ache quite so much.
    Muted conversations happened over his head and he struggled to keep his eyes open, feeling rough wood under his feet. He saw faces, Puffy, pleading in her eyes. Ranboo, looking concerned and anxious. Tommy, eyes closed, unconscious. Phil, Techno, their faces flashing past almost too fast for him to register.
    But they had made it, and Tommy was safe and how, Tubbo didn’t know, but he found himself curled on a comfortable bed, a warm body pressed beside him, feathers tickling his nose, his aches and burns hurting him a little less than they were before.
 ~*~
     Tommy woke to someone gently preening his wing. He stiffened, tensing at the touch, heart pounding quickly, but after a long moment began to relax, the soothing motion familiar and comforting.
    He was lying on his front, one wing tucked behind him, the other spread out off whatever bed he was on, careful fingers working at his feathers. Something warm and comforting was pressed into his right side, a rhythmic movement coming from whatever it was.
    Low humming filled the room, along with the crackle of fire and Tommy felt himself relax even more. It was a familiar tune and his heart clenched slightly as he recognised it.
    “Wilbur?” he muttered, before remembering that there was no possible way it could be Wilbur and squeezing his eyes shut.
    “Not quite, mate.” The preening paused a moment and Tommy shifted his head, wincing at the headache that evoked. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Phil, sitting beside the bed, Tommy’s wing spread over his lap. His own wings were tucked comfortably behind him, and once again Tommy felt the familiar sense of envy that came with seeing how beautiful and powerful those wings were.
    “Oh,” he said quietly, unsure of how to respond. Why had Phil even let him in here? He was a nobody - a scrappy, annoying little friend of Wilbur’s who had tagged along to everything. And sure, maybe once he had seen Phil as a father, maybe once Phil had seen him as a son.
    But that had been a long time ago.
    Tommy pulled his wing back, suddenly not wanting to feel Phil’s fingers in his feathers. He wanted to sit up, but he knew that would mean moving far more than he was ready for.
    “How’re you feeling?” Phil asked. Tommy shrugged, wincing slightly.
    “Bit crap,” he admitted and Phil chuckled softly. It was almost too normal. Tommy didn’t like it.
    “Fair enough. You were a right mess. You both were.”
    Tubbo, of course.
    He started, pushing himself up and collapsing almost as quickly, head spinning.
    “Take it easy, mate. Tubbo’s okay.” Phil gestured and Tommy turned his head to see the familiar shaggy hair of his best friend beside him. He let out an uneven breath, closing his eyes before turning back to look at Phil. It was a little awkward from where he was lying, but Phil made no effort to move.
    “Why are we here?” he asked.
    “I’m the only one who knows proper wing care anywhere nearby,” Phil said. “They weren’t sure what to do.”
    “Oh,” Tommy said. He felt a sudden tensing fear - had he and Tubbo been left here? What if Techno wanted to get revenge? What if they decided they didn’t want Tommy and Tubbo around anymore and threw them out?
    He shifted his hand, searching until he found Tubbo’s and gripped it tightly. Tubbo shifted in his sleep, curling closer into Tommy.
    “Calm down,” Phil said, a faint laugh in his voice. “You’re safe here.”
    “Am I?” Tommy demanded, without thinking.
    “Course. I’m not going to throw you out.”
    “Techno might,” Tommy said. Again, he wasn’t thinking, but part of him didn't really care.
    Part of him didn't really blame Techno for not wanting him around.
    “Nah, he won’t throw you out while you’re still recovering.” He paused, reaching for Tommy’s wing again and Tommy stiffened, heart beating quickly as he jerked back quickly. “Easy mate, I just wanted to preen them a little more. Have you been taking care of them?”
    “Why do you care?” Tommy asked. An expression of almost hurt flickered across Phil’s face, but he shrugged, drawing his hands back.
    “You’ve got beautiful wings - so long as you look after them,” he said, almost dismissively.
    “Yeah, might have been nice to have someone show me how,” Tommy spat. He shut his eyes, knowing he shouldn’t antagonize the people he was sheltering with.
    “That’s not fair,” Phil said, accusation in his voice. Tommy scowled, reluctantly letting go of Tubbo’s hand to push himself up. Everything ached and his head spun, but he managed to struggle into a sitting position, reaching back to find Tubbo’s hand again as he shifted.
    “Is it not? You know who taught me how to preen? Wilbur. You know who taught me how to fly? Wilbur? You know who patched up my wings when I damaged them? Wilbur did.” His eyes were flashing, and he only wasn’t shouting because he didn’t want to wake Tubbo. “And you destroyed his country, ground his memory into bedrock. And you -" His voice shook but he kept talking. "You killed him."
    “I had no choice,” Phil said, his voice a little more guarded, a little more hurt and Tommy couldn’t help but be satisfied that he had struck a nerve.
    “Sure, because you couldn’t have helped him.”
    “He asked me to! What was I supposed to do? He had been twisted beyond help. He wanted to die.”
    “Did you know that I wanted to die?” Tommy asked blood pounding in his ears. He was shaking, his free hand gripping the edge of his bed so tightly. Phil started at the comment - it was clear this was news to him. “Did you know that I thought about doing it? That I stared down lava and thought about how quick it would be to just be swallowed up?” He was crying, but he didn’t care. “That I made a tower so high and stood there for so long trying to build up the courage?” Phil opened his mouth to say something, but Tommy didn’t give him the chance. “If I had asked you then, would you have killed me too?”
    He stared at Phil, not letting him break eye contact, not letting him escape the question.
    “Tommy -” Phil began, hesitating. “It’s not the same-”
    “Sure,” Tommy scoffed. “I don’t care. I don’t want to know. Y’know, I thought that once you could be a father. But clearly, you can’t. Not even to your own son. So piss off. Thank you for tending to my wings, but piss off. I don’t want to see you anymore. Not until you acknowledge that what you’ve done has hurt people.”
    Phil hesitated, seeming to want to say more but Tommy didn’t listen. He dropped back down onto his stomach, turning his head away from Phil. A moment later, he heard the man stand and walk quietly across the room, closing the door as he left.
    A moment later, Tubbo opened his eyes.
    “You okay?” he asked softly, and Tommy nodded. He rolled onto his side, lifting his wing and wrapping it tightly around both of them.
    “I’m okay,” he said quietly. “We’ll be okay.”
    Tubbo hummed, moving closer and curling into Tommy.
    “M’sorry,” he muttered finally.
    “What for?” Tommy asked.
    “....Everything. I’ve messed up so much. I’m a bad friend.”
    “I don’t care,” Tommy said quietly. He hesitated… letting out a long breath. “You hurt me too, but at least you’ve apologised. At least you’ve realized. And I’m not innocent either. I’m sorry too.”
    “Let’s stop hurting each other,” Tubbo muttered and Tommy snorted.
    “Agreed,” he said quietly, wishing the same agreement could be made with the other inhabitants of the house.
 ~*~
       They left two days later, the tension of the building too much for either of them to take. They saw Ranboo mostly, nervously visiting and checking up on them, changing their bandages and talking to them. Phil occasionally replaced the bandages on Tommy’s wings, but they didn't talk, and the tension was thick until he left again. He left them with a list of instructions of how to care of Tommy's wings, vanishing into the basement after handing the list to Tubbo without a word.
    Techno wasn’t around.
    He was waiting for them at the portal, a dog by his side that Tubbo eyed nervously. He stepped forward, striding confidently towards the two teenagers and stopping a few paces in front of them.
    Tommy refused to be intimidated, staring him down, heart beating quickly.
    “Techno - I…” he began, trying to figure out the best place to start. He wanted to apologise, he wanted to make it up, wanted things to go back to how they were. But he had no idea where to begin, no idea if Techno would even listen to him.
    “I think you dropped this,” Techno said, not letting him talk. He held out his hand, the axe of peace gripped tightly in his grasp. Tommy started, staring at it, then back up at Techno.
    “What?” he asked. Techno shrugged.
    “Ranboo made me a new one. If you don’t want it, I can keep it though.”
    “I -” Tommy carefully took it, heart beating rapidly in case this was a trap. Techno nodded once, turning to stride past them back towards the cottage. “Techno I…” There was so much he wanted to say, so much he wanted to fix. Techno paused, glancing back at him. “I'm sorry,” he said finally.
    “It might be best if you two stay away from here for a while,” Techno said. Then he turned and walked briskly away, cape fluttering behind him, dog matching his pace.
    Tommy stared at the axe in his hand, breath in his mouth.
    "Thank you," he breathed softly.
    Maybe things could be fixed after all. Slowly, with work and pain and effort.
    But maybe compromises could be made.
𝕊𝕖𝕝𝕗-𝕃𝕠𝕒𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 🐚Yandere! leviathan X Reader🐚
Tumblr media
I’m trying out a new writing style, so please let me know what you think! This story is rather abstract and switches a bit between reader POV and Leviathan’s POV.
WARNINGS: VERY DARK, suicidal themes, self harm, mild gore, verbal abuse, self-hatred, objectification and cursing.
🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚
ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ᴀɴ ᴏʟᴅ ꜱᴀʏɪɴɢ, ᴀɴ ᴏʟᴅ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ꜱᴀʏɪɴɢ: "ᴏᴘᴘᴏꜱɪᴛᴇꜱ ᴀᴛᴛʀᴀᴄᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱɪᴍɪʟᴀʀ ʀᴇᴘᴇʟꜱ". ʙᴜᴛ ꜱɪɴᴄᴇ ᴡʜᴇɴ ʜᴀꜱ ᴀɴʏ ʟᴏɢɪᴄ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴜᴍᴀɴ ʀᴇᴀʟᴍ ᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴛʀᴇꜱᴘᴀꜱꜱᴇᴅ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴅᴇᴠɪʟᴅᴏᴍ?
The two of you were the same, cut from the exact same depressing, aversion cloth.
The two of you were mangled disjointed creatures with lanky brittle bones made up of self-loathing and mismatched hatred. Broken from displaced frustration and indecent, vulgar tendencies, that no one could snuff out of either of you.
Instead of guts and intestines both you, the lowly human, and him, the feared sea serpent, had long strings of pity that coiled inside your stomachs.
Eyes as green as the ripest emerald blinded by endless, unchecked envy towards all things that so much as breathed.
Rotting pink brains filled with nothing but depressive thoughts and screeching banshee-like voices that never seem to cease.
Yes, you and Leviathan were the exact same thing...
There's a certain aroma that floats and flocks around a person with such low regard for themselves. Where ever you walked a thick suffocating cloud of despair followed like a lost limping mutt. Pure unaltered self-disgust rolls off you like waves in the middle of a storm.
This is one of the things Leviathan loves about you, the intoxicating saddening aura that you wear like the finest perfumes. Although if caught like a deer in headlights, the sea serpent would just lie through his shark-like teeth and make some remarks about your pretty smile or shiny eyes.
Truth is, he HATES when you smile. Hated when hope and joy and all things bright and good twinkle in your eyes like the flicker of a newborn star.
Oh no, you're all so much prettier when you frown, when you look like your lust for life is all died out. When your eyes twinkle with that sort of sweet despair like all your hope has gotten engulfed by a black hole.
🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
There's something wrong with you. You don't know what, but it's there, you can feel it everywhere you go.
Maybe it's the repulsive way your skin is stretched so suffocatingly thin across your bones. Or maybe it's the way you pick at your open scars, digging deeper and deeper past blazing red tissue until it starts to bleed again.
Whatever it is you aren't sure, but something is most definitely wrong with you.
maybe that's why, on a particularly bad, paranoid day, you finally decide to just end it.
Although it's never that simple is it?
There's something no one ever tells you about the cessation of life. A mysterious negative hour that happens just as the last atom of oxygen is departing from your lungs. A negative one, a negative two, and if you get expressly unlucky than also a negative three. This is usually when you start to wonder if you did it right, if the rope is too loose or hung too low. The dam of reality breaks and all uncertainty pours through with no real regard for what it's destroying. Are you're really still alive? Or is this some post-mortem induced dream? Everything makes about as much sense as when you were alive, only now it's foggy and ambiguous and all so distant like a far off dream...
It's also the time when every good memory comes rushing back, spilling carelessly akin to the blood gushing from the vain you slashed a month ago. You're dying far too slowly and all too semi-lucidly.
This is far from how you thought your escape plan would go.
The plan shatters even more when you actually open your eyes again and realize that you're no longer dangling from the ceiling. Instead, you're wrapped in some sort of lukewarm blanket, trapped between glacial white walls that bite at your fingers why you try to push them away.
And staring down at you with a sort of raw envy that your human mind couldn't fabricate, was non other than the third born himself.
Up to this day you still don't know who saved you, the seven brothers treat the whole ordeal like Pandora's box, tucking it under volts of diamond and throwing the key into the abyss. As long as it stays out of sight, out of tongue's reach and ears range then it'll surely be out of mind. Everything will be just fine so long as lord Diavolo doesn't hear what happened to the precious little human. Everything is just fine if everyone ignores it.
Personally, you don't mind the outcome. You're restrained to Levi's room, being under his watch and alleged "care" for all hours of the day. It's to keep you safe Lucifer assures, although your own guilt likes to twist the words into something more like, "It's to get rid of a nuisance".
Either which way life starts to escalate just a tiny bit.
Funny how even self-loathing and inner hatred seem to fade away when there's someone to share the pain with.
Soon it's no longer "I wish I could die" or "why can't I just be God damn good enough!"
but rather "We seriously should split a suicide built" and "Wouldn't it be fun if we both dive off a cliff head first into lava?"
With someone just as aggravated and self-destructive as yourself, things start to look up...that is until you do the unforgivable, at least so it's written in Levi's demented book.
You step too far, you start to ask things, start to pry into things that shouldn't matter to you.
And then you do it, the worst of the worst, you smile...
Straight after asking him such a revolting sincere question
"What do you think about life?"
It's meant to be rhetorical, you TRY to make it sound rhetorical. But any social norms or form of sarcasm goes over Levi's head like the basketballs he's never able to catch. His attention snaps to you, like a snake being alerted that a predator is a near...or prey, again it's really impossible to tell.
 His neck cranes at an odd angle as his tail curls inwards. For a split millisecond, you can swear on your almost grave that you see his tongue dart out before zipping back into his toothy mouth. Predator, he definitely sees you as a predator.
"Baby, not much...I-i want to die"
Time doesn't stop, not even when all understanding and logic have tipped their hats at the door and disappeared into the great beyond. Leviathan's slit eyes stare at you, behind all the pain and broken anger, for just an instant you think you see the fragments of understanding shine, brighter than the never setting moon.
He's just like you,
You're just like him,
That's when the trouble creeps over. The corners of your mouth take a turn upwards and push your cheeks back, making way for a grin. It's faint and ghostly at best...up it's there.
It just has to be there....
That godforsaken satisfied smile.
When you're attention flicker's to Levi again you notice his arm pulling back, throwing the controller across the room with anger worst than anything Satan could summon upon his worst day.
"Don't fucking do that!"
You're stoned in place, eyes too scared to move from the sea snake, what went wrong? Why does something always go wrong?
"D-do what..?"
It's not your fault that you're voice shakes and breaks, not your fault that the room starts to spiral out of control. It's his fault, all his fault...but is anything ever really his fault?
"Don't look happy! Or hopeful! You look so freaking ugly when you smile!"
His voice is shockingly low, like a mother trying to get her child to settle down after a tantrum. He's borderline cooing at you to "act" properly again. Never the less the venom and disgust are steel audible, glittering like a silver lining.
For once though it's not worth it to stop smiling, all the screams and yells and depravities of the world can't erase this smile from your face.
"Six thousand-year-old demon and you actually dream of death rather than eternal hell on earth or torturing the damned? You really are a broken one Leviathan."
The blue-haired sea monster just shrugs in reply before slithering closer, wrapping his slender bony arms around your waist, they feel like Thamnophis coiling around your midsection, sinking into your flesh. His heavy head falls onto your lap, you can practically hear all the outcries of jealousy and cries of purified agony.
"What can I say...we're both two disgusting broken things that have no right to live or any claim to happiness...but well, fuck happiness who needs it...right?
Yeah, who needs a thing that only creeps into the heart under perfect circumstances and that floats away at the drop of a feather, who needs happiness and joy, when the two of you can forevermore rot in your own envy and depression....together.
Always together
Rotting forever.
"Right...screw happiness and all it's stupid worth."
