Ich betone jedoch, dass ich nicht ausschließlich für Kinder schreibe, sondern für die Geschichte selbst. Gewalt und explizite Darstellungen halte ich in Kinderbüchern für unangemessen. Ich finde es spannender und unheimlicher, wenn die Andeutung von Dingen genutzt wird. In meiner eigenen Kindheit wurde mir nie vorgeschrieben, welche Bücher ich lesen durfte, und ich schätze das sehr. Interessanterweise ändert sich meine Wahrnehmung beim erneuten Lesen eines Buches, wie zum Beispiel "Wer die Nachtigall stört". Als Kind habe ich es nur als Abenteuergeschichte wahrgenommen, aber jetzt erkenne ich die tiefere Bedeutung und es bereichert mich sehr. Deshalb denke ich, dass man nicht eindeutig sagen kann, ob ein Buch für Kinder oder Erwachsene ist, solange es eine gute Geschichte erzählt. Als Autor ist es wichtig, die Kunst der Andeutung zu beherrschen, da dies die Fantasie der Leser anregt. Ich reflektiere auch über die zunehmende Gewalt und Abstumpfung bei Kindern und frage mich, ob sich auch Kinderbücher einem anderen Trend anschließen sollten. Abschließend erwähne ich, dass meine Buchreihe mit Ivy aus drei Bänden bestehen wird und dass der zweite Band derzeit im Rohentwurf ist.
