Aki: He's short himself, and I don't think he cares too much if you're taller than him. He'll be happy that he's taller if you're shorter than him. He thinks it's adorable!

Haruka seems to come from a rich family, so a family with a reputation. I would think his dad divorced his mom and distanced himself from her & Haruka so his status wouldn't be damaged by the fact he has a ND child. This kind of thing isn't uncommon irl after all
