Title: "A Farrago of Futile Facts"
Synopsis: Private investigator Harry Orwell finds himself entangled in a perplexing case when he is hired by a renowned trivia quiz show host, Charles Everett, to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his prized collection of rare and obscure trivia books. Set against the backdrop of 1970s Los Angeles, Harry delves into the world of game shows, where the lines between reality and illusion blur.
As Harry delves deeper into the case, he discovers a web of secrets and rivalries among the contestants and crew of Everett's show, "Mindbenders." Each contestant harbors their own motives, from desperate attempts to win the grand prize to personal vendettas against Everett himself. Suspicions also arise around Everett's closest associates, including his enigmatic assistant and a former champion of the show turned bitter rival.
Amidst the glitz and glamour of the television studio, Harry uncovers a network of deception and betrayal, where seemingly trivial facts hold the key to unlocking the truth. His investigation takes him from the bright lights of the studio to the shadowy alleys of the city, where he encounters eccentric collectors, eccentric game show enthusiasts, and a sinister black market for rare trivia knowledge.
As the stakes rise and the pressure mounts, Harry must navigate a maze of lies and deceit to unravel the mystery of the missing books before it's too late. Along the way, he confronts his own demons and struggles to reconcile his past with his present, all while racing against time to solve the case and expose the truth behind "A Farrago of Futile Facts."
In the end, Harry discovers that sometimes the most seemingly insignificant details can lead to the most significant revelations, proving that in the world of crime-solving, every piece of information, no matter how trivial, has its place in the puzzle.

Sirius: What's it like being tall?
Sirius: Is it nice?
Sirius: Can you reach comfortably for the cupboards?
James: We live in constant fear of the short ones who, in my experience, will climb 4 chairs, 2 boxes, a small coffee table and 6 oddly placed stools to get what they want.
Regulus: It was one time!

Craig Stevens and Broderick Crawford: 15 years earlier they were laying down the law, on Peter Gunn and Highway Patrol, but in this 2-hour story they are causing all sorts of problems for David Janssen and Joanna Pettet.
It’s a standard tale. Protagonist arrives in closed community, starts asking questions, gets in trouble for it. This Stephen Kandel script doesn’t add much you haven’t seen before. There’s a bland love story in the mix.
The cast are good, and it really feels like Harry can’t possibly win this time. Everyone is against him. Even the town sheriff. Manny pitches in, and gives a lot of help in part two. And the conclusion is suitably cynical.
Worth watching, but earlier episodes are way better.
