The worst trope in the universe is when someone accuses character A, who is part of a real or fantasy or coded minority, of doing something bad and everyone's like "That's just your prejudice against [real or fantasy minority]!" and it turns out character A actually did do that bad thing and everyone else was stupid for not believing they did that bad thing.

#skimmed a fanfic with B'Elanna in it (Skimmed bc I knew this might happen)....BIG MISTAKE #Ex: 'You just think I stole something because I'm a ferengi!' and they did steal something. Because they're a ferengi.#And you were stupid to think they didn't because of COURSE they did because they're a Ferengi #People seriously write B'Elanna as just hysterically violent and mad all the time 'because she's a klingon' and I haaaate it #you haveto think about the implications you HAVE to you HAVE to #male characters and white characters are given so much interiority and reasoning behind their actions in fanon pleeeaaaseee #it's so obvious to see (not talking about a specific fic) that people even when writing female characters and/or characters of color don't #actually see them as full or interesting people and it's sad dude it's sad to see a little paper cut out caricature of a character you love #B'Elanna in any fic: I'm mad. / Tuvok in any fic: I'm Vulcan. / Harry in any fic: I'm nice. / Chakotay in any fic: I love Janeway.#honestly if Seven wasn't in voyager people wouldn't even pretend to care about the show bc it's SO obvious they only REALLY care about the #white characters #'I watch Voyager for Seven! I was talking with a friend about the canon named women of Les Mis and decided to experiment to see who those are according to Les Mis fanworks.

Behold: your top ten women of Les Mis.

#method was selecting to exclude every man/non-Les Mis character until I had a full set of 10 LM women #this is imperfect because obv Magloire and Baptistine frequently feature with the Bishop whose works are excluded #and that same effect will apply to most of these characters (e.g. any fic with Dahlia that mentions Tholomyès would be excluded)#(e.g. any fic with Mme T where M T shows up would be excluded) (etc.)#however it does feel telling that Leia Organa Sam Winchester and Harry Potter all appeared before Marguerite #who the fuck is writing Ensemble I Just Wanna Talk #Dahlia and Zéphine having the same number mostly confuses me bc I know for a fact that I wrote a fic with only Favourite and Dahlia #so someone write a fic with Zéphine and without Dahlia #Favourite is Problematic Fave so I'm not surorised she has more #I AM surprised that my girl Bappy has more fics than Magnon #but then I'm also totally unsurprised that Mlle Miss/Magnon aka actual canon lesbian couple (not fucking w you this is for real)#hasn't received more screentime. bc fandom culture.#(but also this had started so I could try to see if the fandom had given the snitchin factory woman a name)#(since I had assumed the musical side of things had toxic yuri unrequited jealousy factory woman/fantine content)#(I have been disappointed more by this fandom but God ... do less)#les mis #ao3 #shitposting @ me #ignore the timestamp that doesn't matter this is a v normal daylight hours exercise

there’s an awful lot to like about the current west end cast of cursed child, but one of my favourite things atm is just how important ginny is to albus and to albus and harry’s relationship. the blanket scene spirals so deeply out of control because they’ve been left alone without ginny!! her absence feels like a presence, it feels like another character in the scene it’s so palpable. the second she leaves all of the warmth is sucked out of the room and albus and harry spend the whole scene glancing back to the doorway in the hopes she’ll return and get them back on track and I really can’t express how much I loved seeing and feeling how lost they were without her!! ellis!albus is such a mummy’s boy and I’ve never felt so second hand loved and reassured as I did during their conversation during st jeromes and it’s just so clear how much he looks up to his mum and that she’s his person, but god of him trying to will her back into the room during the blanket scene didnt just about strike me down
